All right, welcome back Cruise Show Podcast. Jeff g along
with Cruise Let you Jackie Jordan's here fuses in the
other room, getting ready.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
For the show.
Speaker 4 (00:16):
It is a Friday here, so if you're hearing this
on a different day, I hope you get our Friday
vibes and Friday. And let's go ahead and start with
our Dodgers, who are one game away from the World
Series at this point.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
We're watching the game in the studio here.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Jack as someone who's employed by the Dodgers currently, how
great is this for you?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
This is amazing.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
It's a nerve wrecking feeling, to be honest. It's just
like always it's always so scary because we want to
keep on going. We wanted you for a team, but
at the same time we're like, also, okay, we got
to work. So it's like there's so many emotions, to
be honest.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Not for sure, for sure, are you prepared for a letdown? Yeah,
I'm always fine. I'm not I'm not.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
I ever since twenty nineteen. I joined the team in
twenty nineteen. Yeah, and twenty nineteen we just like it
was really bad the way that we exited. Twenty twenty
didn't get a chance. It was COVID year. Yeah, twenty
twenty one didn't happen, Like, so this is a year
that like, I feel like I can really hopefully experience
a world series and hopefully get a ring.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
I was always bum jack because I covered the team
for a lot of years over ten, you know, and
like there are a lot of playoffs. We always got
our you know, the Phillies always got us, and I
was always like, you know, it was always real fucking
frustrating and then you know, but I was able to
be a part of some cool celebrations in the locker
room and have all those moments and it was a
lot of fun. But they never got that world series, yeah,
you know, and it was always like, damn it so close.
(01:36):
And I always just really think about the people in
the organization, you know that I worked with, like Yvonne
and Joe and just all those nice people that were
just really great people that never got that experience, you know,
and luckily a lot of them were still there in
twenty twenty to get it, So I was always thankful
that they ended up. But I mean, the city hasn't
had a parade like twenty twenty. We weren't able to
(01:56):
have the parade for them or the Lakers, remember, So
like this would be awesome if they could figure out
a way to do it.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
And we all want to see the Yankees, right, yeah, sure.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
But at the same time, I would They're a.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Really good team, Like you got to beat the best
to be the best, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
So I'd rather play the Yankees than anybody else just
because I just think that'll be such a movie and
not a lot of people have seen that in our
in their lifetime, right, because I think the last time
they played them was eighty yea, if I'm not mistaken,
I think eighty the Dodgers beat them on you Yeah, yeah,
that was like that was when it was you know,
the the you know, uh, Tommy Desorta was the manager.
(02:36):
But that was way back even before like I think
Fernando days, right or was he a rookie in that series?
I have to google it, but that was a long
freaking time of that was a really long time ago,
so it would be great for this generation to see that.
And then you have the stars like you know with Judge,
you know Tani. I mean you couldn't talk about two
bigger stars, Yeah, you know, facing each other in the
(02:58):
World Series, and it would be so much fun to
watch Man.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Versus West Dog.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
It's crazy to me seeing like all these pictures of
like you know, Tawni and Mookie on the same team
and like you know, Kershawan, we have like such like
these legends and these icons on this team that it's
like people are gonna look back and be like, yo,
this team was stacked, Like we're spoiled, insane, spoiled.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Well you have, I mean think about all the Atanis
want MVP, Mookies want MVP multiple actually yeah, and Fredy
Freeman's won, So it's like you think about from the
top to bottom. It's it's just it's wild man and
we are really spoiled. I think Steve Sachs I saw
a post today I think it probably was on A
five seventy, which is our sister station, and he said,
this is.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
The best Dodgers line I've ever ever ever seen it.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
He was part of one of those great ones, because
I mean he played with the Ron Says and the
Davey Lopes and all those poles are part of those
teams you know, that had Kirk Gibson and all those
people on it as well. So it's like you look
at those teams versus these teams, and it's just like
it's insane. But we are about as blessed as we
can be, you know when it comes to teams. Yes, well,
(04:00):
let's hope for the best man and we'll see what
ends up happening here and we'll follow up with more
podcasts speaking about sports. Our football pulls over, right, guys.
I mean, there's no point in doing it anymore, is there?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Because did I miss that up?
Speaker 1 (04:12):
You know what I mean, Like, there's just there's just
no point in doing it, right. Yeah, I don't know.
I don't see the point in it anymore. Yeah, so
far behind. I mean, I think it was a bunch
of challenges, Cruise. It's not you, you know what I mean,
It's me.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
It actually was.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
We had a few weeks where I started that, I
had a few weeks where you know, a lot of
picks weren't turned in and then punished on vacation.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
I know, I know, I know I don't want it
to be over.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
He's been taking this very seriously.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
I'm me too, I'm doing it. But then I got
like really busy.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
The other day Garcia told le like he he lost
or something and left. You was like, no, I did, like,
you'll keep track. I keep try, I keep track. It's
to be taken very serious. I'm I'm I'm sorry. I
think I started the down trend. No, I just like
I think we're just as Jeff says, the rule I
just got.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
That's funny.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
That is, I think we should hang that sign somewhere
that is, don't do as I do, do as what
Jeff says.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I swear.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Yeah, I think we could still playing a play if
we we want. But I also think that, yeah, I
think it's it's fucked, you know, yeah nicely, you.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Know it nicely.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
To do those like uh those punishments too.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yeah, and we're so far behind the punishments that it'll
be kind of me, you know.
Speaker 7 (05:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
We know everybody food Monday? Can Can I bring food Monday?
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (05:39):
I don't think anybody's going to turn that down.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Y'all bring it.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Yeah, it's okay, it's not you Solely, I think I think,
what's something gets backed up enough then it just becomes
too hard to execute.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Can we start over?
Speaker 5 (05:50):
We could start over.
Speaker 6 (05:53):
And then whoever falls off, there's a penalty. How about this,
like whoever falls off first as a penalty?
Speaker 4 (05:58):
What are there eighteen weeks in the season, right, because
there's seventeen games and everybody gets a buye it's eighteen
So this is week this is week number seven.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
So how about this. We can hard reset in week nine. Okay,
that's halfway through the season.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Okay, yeah, okay, okay, so we can hard reset, still
pick and still do your thing. So I'm looking at
the last few weeks here and let you I was incorrect.
Wait there week five there was a tie. Actually it
was Cruise again for week five, so cruises one two,
three weeks old.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
But yeah, that's all in the past. Let's just start
over at week nine. Week nine, week.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yeah, make your picks and ship this week and then yeah, Jackie,
did we lose last week?
Speaker 1 (06:45):
She only had one?
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Yeah, because I didn't pick.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, I forgot ship man.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
I've been having good weeks and so its fuse man
fourteen correct thirteen, correct on.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
You guys something you guys already said, we're starting over.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Check it's so cold, we're starting to remembering it and
now we deserve lunch.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Lunch, Well, o lunch, I'm bringing it Monday. Okay, I only.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Missed one week.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
I'm bringing food on Monday.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
But Jackie and I can't eat none of it.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
No, that's that's crazy. No, No, that's crazy. Okay.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
I think that's a fair resolution. That's pretty funny. That's
a great way to to finish that off. All right,
let's move on to some of the interviews we've had lately.
A really good interview with Clave that you know that
was just amazing to have them in here and just
their growth. What a bunch of cool, cool ass dudes, man,
and then for them to perform in here, it was
really amazing.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Those dudes are the real deal. They're legit for real.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, yeah, I think I think it was a lot
of fun. Let's you your thoughts.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
I know that you know your closeness with Street Mob
and that it really helped engineer this, you know, shout
out to Cindy, that's his future wife.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
I'm trying put it on twenty seven put dog, I've
been in I've been in the friend zone. Yeah, in
twenty seventeen, not Dan saying Jesus respectfully, it is what
it is respect to have.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
No respect, Yeah, exactly disrespect.
Speaker 6 (08:16):
I think Jordan said that in her head, but it
just came out like, let's you you hang in there,
if anyone can, let you can.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I just know that as long as I keep elevating
to a certain degree, had a boy, it will work
in my favorite at a boy working my favorite. But
I think, yeah, I think specialities that they were super dope.
I think you could see like their confidence in speaking
in English as opposed to traditional you know, Spanish like
or Spanish stations, like they were really more comfortable. And
(08:46):
I think that was something that Sindy even pointed out immediately,
like it really was a discussion and they were like, yeah,
he loved it. He said that's the most comfortable. He
felt that was like the best interview for him. And yeah,
I mean there's a we need to create keep in
that space for for regional Mexican acts, especially the ones
that are Mexican American to come here, stop buying and
just be able to express themselves. Uh you know, yeah,
(09:08):
give them a space for space, you know, you know,
And I think that's what we're gonna win.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
You know, I think their hip hop influence, right, A
lot of it is the corridos and stuff like the models.
All of that is hip hop influence, and I think
it takes us to to to help that and to
give it a space.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
You're somewhat of a bridge for sure.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
And if you listen to Alex in the interview, he's like,
I don't even like the new stuff. He's like, I
like easy, I like ice cube, Like I mean, so,
I mean he knows what it is. And then you know,
if I believe he said they were first generation right here,
let you know, so, I mean a lot of first
generation people here. They you know, in order to you know,
be a part of you know, uh, their their their
(09:50):
friend peer groups at school or whatever. They were into
hip hop, you know, as part of just their daily life,
and that's what they were seeing on social media and
that's what you're seeing on the internet and all that.
So they know what time it is and you're you
guys are right, man. It's a great vehicle. And you know,
hopefully we're going to do some more stuff with them
in the future without giving too much away.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
And you know what also maybe like some of them
may be also at some point had like hip hop aspirations,
but maybe they saw difficulty breaking in. That's so they
stuck to till it was like, Okay, well this is
kind of like what we're supposed to do, but let's
let's let's what we're expected to do, but let's do
our own twist with like a hip hop you know
to it.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
No, that's a great pop.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Also, some good interviews up there from tweet interview.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Really good interview. Also, she's so authentic. Yeah, she's super.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I appreciate that energy.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
And you guys are having a great time with her
at her album release party.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Really good time.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
By the way, if Jackie erupts at any time, guys,
it's because she's watching the game and she's very competitive.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Like she's looking right now, like right now. Yeah, so
Met's just scored here, so we'll see three zero.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Clarity looks off already he does. This is like their
first lead and since last week, so.
Speaker 6 (11:02):
It's gonna be one of those here, It's gonna be
one of those, right like they kill, we kill, they kill,
we kill, until it's you know.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Said, yeah, I said, I thought it was seven games,
but hope we can do it sooner.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Gas in the audience is crazy, a lot.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Of games left. But uh yeah, so I mean to
was great. Uh, there's Victoria Monet was really great. Yes,
the baby interview was really great. So I strongly encourage
anybody listening to this right now either scroll down and
listen to the podcast if you can do audio only
right now, or go to YouTube.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Real nine two three l A Real nine two three
LA if you want to.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Check that out, and of course the website.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Yeah, run it up please, because I think you're gonna
really enjoy the interviews.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Uh as well.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
I know there's a lot of content out there, but
I promise you you'll enjoy this. And let's go ahead
and wrap this up. So Jackie could cry after this
home run, and.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
OMG, Jackie, how were you crying the other day?
Speaker 1 (11:48):
What did you say?
Speaker 3 (11:48):
You did?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
You described it yesterday to Mariana and I was dying.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
I was looking down. I had my head down, like
like my face pointed towards the floor, so my tears
wouldn't ruin my makeup.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Out of my would like cast, not cascade.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
They were just fall straight down, like three fall down
versus running down her face when she found out.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah, Payn passed. Yeah, wild.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Yeah, Payne's stuff is pretty crazy. Those pictures that Jordan's
said in the text was wild.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
There's a lot of there's a lot of like a
lot of speculation as to how he got those, like
if it is true those pictures, how he got those
drugs and everything, If drugs.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Took those pictures and how they get out like.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
That, that was probably like the hotel staff that probably
did that, or the Argentinian.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Police and people, and then it just yeah goes, you know,
they took.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Pictures of his body and TMZ posted that that's gross.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
What's with the dove soap man? I don't I don't
do that. So I don't do a lot of drugs
at all.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
One of them he's doing.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
So one of the conspiracies right now out there and
it's not like for sure, is that one of the
hotel employees gave him the drugs and the way that
they were able to give him the drugs was when
they were refilling his his bathroom supplies. They hit it
in the does. So they're also saying that because there's
(13:17):
a WhatsApp audio from one of the hotel employees, saying
that one of the employees was going to get fired
by the end of that day. So yeah, yeah Shaker, Well.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Yeah, and it matches.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
That's the name of the hotel, so I guess.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah, Brodian people can't keep secrets.
Speaker 7 (13:38):
Bro WhatsApp recording you guys snapchat the worst bro man messy,
messy in two ways.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yes, that's real.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Outside of the hotel, and you could just tell like
that food was on sad one, like his mannerisms, like
like looking.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
Yeah, a lot of people were saying that the last
pictures he took with fans outside the hotel, like he
was smiling, but he had like just dead eyes, like
he was just all black.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
And so it sounds like the guys in that was
an addict.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
I mean he had talked about before, like his struggle
with addiction with alcohol and like you know, going to
certain other substances.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
But I saw a clip where he's like, I can't
be left I can't be left alone in a hotel
room for too long.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Well, see that's the thing too. He had said, like when.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
The girls just left right, she went back home.
Speaker 5 (14:32):
She had gone home like a couple of days before.
But that's what he had said, like in a solo
interview after like one direction had broke up years later.
He was like, you have to think about it. The
safest way and the quickest way that they were able
to contain us when we got so big was to
just leave us in our hotel room and he goes,
and that's where we stayed most of the time. We
never left our hotel.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
They couldn't go anywhere, he.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Like, so we had to like figure out how to do.
And what's in a hotel room a mini bar, He's like,
and that's how my addiction started.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
There's also a TV bro you know, social TV.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
There's a soul.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
I mean, you know, I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
There's there's there's a few things I guess.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, but but when you're natic, you're natic, you know,
And that's tough. It's a really tough situation.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Well, prayer with the last family and all the fans,
and uh, we'll wrap it up on that note. Don't
do any dirt in Argentina because everyone will find out.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
They gonna tell everybody, gonna tell your business to everybody.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
