Speaker 1 (00:03):
Y'r is there any way to make it stop? Leader
fan Fan Radio Network and kfan dot Com. One minute
and fifty three seconds past the hour three o'clock Central
Standard time.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Welcome back.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
It is a Tuesday edition of the Bumper to Bumper
program on what appears to be a calm before the
Snonami Tuesday afternoon here in the twin cities of Minneapolis
and Saint Paul.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
My name is Dan Burrero. I host the program.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Guards he occasionally produces it, but he is still in
the Bahamas with Golden Golfer women's basketball. So it's Brett
blakemore back in that chair. Is that two straight days
for you? Four are the last five on Bumper to Bump.
I thinks so endless not to mention Sunday sermons. Now
(00:58):
we're off on this show tomorrow. Not my decision, by
the way. Can't blame me for this one off Thursday
because Thanksgiving. It off Friday because we've got football. But
we do have sermons Sunday as far as I know correct,
that's my knowledge as well, And that would be a
two hour tour. Because the Vikings are playing on the
West coast, they are taking on the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Is that correct.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's almost weird having the two hours now it is.
It's very very strange. There's no doubt. Well, we'll try
to pull through it, so I want to, I guess
the point of this ramble early is I want to
try to get a lot of stuff accomplished today, given
that we're not going to be able to tomorrow, Thursday
or Friday. That includes the prediction segment moved up to
(01:41):
three thirty this afternoon.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Gerby at three thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
We expect, as always after victory, he will be very
gracious to the Vikings audience today and we'll discover what
I already know that I'm having one of the worst
prediction years I've ever had on the award winning Bumper
to Bumper NFL Predictions segment. But we'll get through it. Nevertheless,
(02:04):
Kevin Seffert's going to join us in studio.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
At about four oh two.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Louis joined us yesterday, so we don't have him today.
Kessler's getting the week off, Mason is getting the week
off because I tried to move Mace to today as well,
but he I believe, is traveling today, so we'll mix
and match. There's there's plenty to get to, including my
(02:29):
ongoing belief that you know, when when we get close
to the holidays, we often talk about Christmas movies, holiday films,
and it's quite a debate that breaks out what even
defines one? What are the best ones, what are the
worst ones?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Et cetera.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
I am of the belief that, for all intents and purposes,
even though there have been many Thanksgiving themed motion pictures made,
I believe there is only one Thanksgiving movie. I think
on Thanksgiving it's so much easier than Christmas. I'll explain
why a little bit later as well. Can we make
(03:09):
it stop? Is there a way? And in this case,
it has nothing to do with the JJ McCarthy soaga,
nothing to do with base body balance, No, it's base balance,
body Brozmer, nothing to do with that subject, which we
will explore. Obviously, we sit with Seaffert to make it stop.
(03:32):
In this case, and it's essential right now, has to
do with the Golden Gopher football coach. Somebody's got to
get to him, man, somebody with a shred of credibility
has to try to get to him, because it's obvious
(03:52):
he's not gonna look in the mirror and get to himself.
He's just not He doesn't even seem capable of it.
I was looking at a Star Commune piece. I think
the headline was five takeaways from the PJ Presser. Here's
(04:14):
the way it was written by I think this is
a Randy Johnson piece. Fleck breaks down evaluations of his
team in terms of schematics, coaching, in personnel. He pointed
to the latter two is the issue against Northwestern. It's
very similar defense to what we played thirteen years or
thirteen years, So it's not the schematic piece at issue,
but the coaching piece and the personnel piece. Yeah, there's
(04:36):
some things we have to do better, but the mistakes
he pointed to were mostly made by you guessed it,
young players, inexperienced young players. We line up on the
wrong side and that's a young person mistake. We fit
the wrong gap, young person mistake. But they're going to
go from that. Nobody does he realize. Nobody buys this
(04:59):
will at this point. Honestly, I don't know why. At
some point you can't say, well, let's see, in five
road games, we've allowed five quarterbacks, not all of them great, some, yes, several,
not to complete seventy seven percent of their passes for
(05:25):
one three hundred and fifty one yards, eleven touchdowns and
zero picks. Nobody's gonna buy whether you're using inexperienced players
or not. That's not gonna fly. As it sort of well,
you know, we're lined up in the wrong place. Things happen,
you know, sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't
(05:45):
go your way. There is nothing good about the way
this team has played on the road, and maybe it
wouldn't matter for him to own up to it a
little bit. But nine years in in an era in
which we're transfer the transfer portal now dominates. That's what
he's going to try to pull off, but probably get
(06:07):
another contract extension out of it. And what was the
other one he did where you're not allowed It's amazing
you're not allowed to put games together in his world
because of course he doesn't believe in the momentum, good
or bad. We were zero and one in the championship
season against Northwestern. What world are we are we living in?
(06:28):
Twenty twenty five? You end up forced to criticize him
more than he should be criticized on the basis of
his record, which still ain't that bad given the University
of Minnesota history. We get that, but to try to
sell this off or to pawn this off on the
(06:49):
youth of the players in an era in which you
get to bring people in and by the way, isles
a standpoint as well.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Portal.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
We didn't do well enough. That's the bottom line.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
And I get it, you know again, some seasons go
a little bit better than others.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
But it's just it's nauseating to hear.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
This.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I'going approach. He's so used to uttering the same cliches.
I guess he just adheres to them and thinks that
people are gonna buy it. Does he really think I'm
talking about discerning fans and I'm not talking about haters.
I'm talking about discerning fans. They're gonna buy that. Again,
I don't expect him to savage his team. But what
(07:46):
did Skegins have? What was the stat he had about
Northwestern offensively came into the game ranked against the Gophers
one hundred and eighteenth nationally and passing offense one hundred
and tenth in scoring offense and one hundred and sixth
in total offense, kept the ball for the last basically
almost eight minutes of the game, before the Gophers could
(08:06):
get it back. You can pawn that off on now,
you know, Lind up the wrong spot. You know, we
have to have to grow from that. It's very convenient.
He loves to isolate individual games like they can't produce
at some point a pattern when it suits his purpose.
(08:26):
When it gets to another contract extension, then the patterns
important to him. Then it's not individual games. People aren't stupid.
They're going to put together game after game after game,
and they're going to see a trend. Whether he wants
to isolate for his own purposes in this case, because
it does, it's not conducive for him to think in
(08:48):
terms of those five road games. There was a headline
two in the Start Tribune on I think this story
some of the effect of here, let me see if
I can find it, because I want to get it
one hundred percent accurate. Of course, my cricket thing just
came in. Try to get on the on the on
the bratch on Brighten Kevin text line. But I'll get
(09:09):
to that in a minute. We'll get that updated here
very shortly. Let me find Gophers twins Ears Gophers. Here's
the subhead reflecting the Gophers figuring out how to put
Saturdays to Bockle aside and focus on the season. Vale
against rival Wisconsin will show what this team is truly
made of.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
It.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Does anybody actually think before they ride a headline like that?
It sounds wonderful. Now we're gonna find out like we
didn't just find out the last several weeks on the road,
this whole season on the road. Isn't that part of
finding the idea that all will be forgiven and forgotten
if you knock off a below five hundred Wisconsin team
(09:51):
that is hot has gotten hotter towards the end of
the season. Do we have any standards here at all?
And they don't have to be Rose Bull standards. They
don't have to be national championship standards. But my god,
I would love but that won't happen. There's too much
to hope for that. A next Gopher two would say,
come on, but do kind of do what Chris Carter
(10:13):
did and just say, really, that's what we're gonna We're
gonna pawn this off on the kids being too young,
this level of defensive dysfunction that is ongoing. It to
me it I know it's always been part of his stick.
Just some days it gets to you a little bit
(10:34):
more than others because I never send. Is there any
pushback at the University of Minnesota about it at all?
I mean, is everybody so lost in his eyes that
they just nod and say, well, it's PJ. That's the
way PJ is gonna do it, as opposed to no,
this is I don't care what, I don't care. If
(10:56):
they beat Wisconsin by fifty, they're gonna end up in
a mediocre Bowl. Somebody texted me the other day they said, yeah,
but don't forget now that helps with then il fine, fine,
knock yourselves out with that. It's still a mediocre bowl.
There's no redeeming I mean, it's a mediocre season. Yeah,
(11:16):
it's a winning record, but you're allowed to evaluate the
wins and the losses. It's not difficult to do that
this year, and to say the number of games that
were too close to inferior teams had barely even won
games in the Big Ten this year, and that they
weren't close to being competitive whenever they played a superior opponent,
not even close. So again, knock yourselves out with sky
(11:40):
yum and hey, well you know who.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Are you gonna get is better. That's always the comeback.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I'm not here to replace them. I'm not here to
call for his head. I'm just looking for some common
sense from the discerning Gopher fan to say, what are
we really supposed to buy this? This is what's mean
acceptable at this point, not even any acknowledgment that to
(12:08):
just blame this on youth when you have some it's you,
it's your program. You're nine years in. And like I said,
it's it's a different era. It's it's the transfer Portal era.
I thought. There's people coming and going all the time.
You have to make the right choices. You got to
make the right decisions. So we'll see what reaction we
(12:34):
get via the bratche On bright kfan text line. And
if I'll be curious, if there's anybody in the world
of Gopherdom, any diggy town drama people who have any
sense of God. I don't that's I don't want to
hear that right now. To be honest with you, Let's
try to come up with something a little bit better
prediction segment at the bottom of the hour, as I said,
(12:55):
and I'm going to try to get this text line
in gear during this break.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
It's a tradition you don't want to miss. For Black Friday,
the Power Trip Morning Show will be live. I'm all
of America Rotunda bringing the initials game, tons of laps
and your chance to score serious holiday cash. Be there,
hunts Can Bank, Rotunda, seven nine am, November twenty eighth.
Check out KFA dot com keyword calendar for all details.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Go Guy writes is actually base Balance, Body Brain Connections,
Bench brose Burn. He broadened it out just a little bit.
A bottom of the hour prediction segment with Gerby, and
you say, wait, damn, isn't this Tuesday. The answer is yes,
but there is no program Thursday. There is no live
(13:43):
program Friday. I don't know how much of Best of
is involved. I think there's some Best Of tomorrow actually,
So we get to Gerby quick and the bad part
of that probably will be He's still, I'm sure on
the emotional high, well maybe more than emotional high of
his packers toaking care of business in pretty thorough fashion
(14:03):
against the vikings on on Sunday, although you have a
Turkey Day date with Destiny in Detroit. Correct, that's the
early game. That's the first two games interested me that one,
and then uh, it's Dallas and who in the Chiefs.
Oh yeah, that's a nice matchup. Yeah, because Dallas is
showing a little life. I'm usually bored with them, and
I think the third game is the Bengals who bore me.
(14:25):
Although it is Borough going to play. Have we heard
anything Onse.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Is going to play, which I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Yeah, that argument has been made that what's the point
at this point in fact, isn't one of his receivers
out too?
Speaker 2 (14:36):
I think it's best receivers out as well.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Defense might as well be out. Yeah, you could make
that argument, but that's it's hard for people to think
that way in the National Football League. Have you heard
a college coach ever say they messed up? That's Scott
and Robinstale. I'm not asking to say he messed up.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
I'm really not.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I'm just thinking, at some point, you have you you
you you step either to a podium or to a microphone,
and you say this level of defense is not acceptable
for us. We can't even continue to pretend that it is.
He can go with the with there aren't excuses, but
there are reasons. He can do whatever he wants to
on that. But I don't think that would be too
(15:18):
much to ask. It's his insistence. Did he say it
again today? Did anybody monitor today? Did he go with
we're a really.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Good football team?
Speaker 1 (15:26):
I mean, did he go with that again in this
Because he's insisted on that, and at some point again,
I would think even not so discerning Gopher fans would
say stop saying that, please, coach.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
I'm not asking you to say.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
You're a terrible team, but on its face, it's kind
of insulting to people who invest enough to watch in
the product to try.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
To continue to say that. It just doesn't make any sense,
does it.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
I want to say I'm ninety five percent sure he said.
I don't care what anyone says. We're still a good
football team and we're Bowl eligible. I don't want to
be one hundred percent, but I want to be right
on that. I'm pretty sure I heard that. It wouldn't
be shocking. I mean, there's any question about that. There's
there'd be nothing shocking about it. I'm trying to find
the other Gopher's story. Here's another one where the headline's
(16:16):
tougher than the story is. Analysis For the Gophers, just
being good isn't good?
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Enough anymore.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Well, yeah, although I don't necessarily see that so much
in the in the story, I mean, he's so generic.
I guess maybe because he thinks no one will notice
we did not play well enough as a team to
come out with a victory and what was necessary to
win the game. Okay, I mean, I don't look at
(16:41):
the third straight game. This was a one game championship season.
We're zero to one. This game has nothing to do
with the last game. Where was the cult too? There
were so many good things from that football game with
our football team, for a lot of different people's perspectives
and performances. It is going to get overshadowed by the loss.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Not in my mind.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
I loved our effort. I loved our resolve. I I
get maybe people have just given up and they say, Okay,
we can't find anybody better. Somebody texted, you know, the
last time we got a little bit anxious by approach,
we fired Glenn Mason and ended up with Tim Brewster.
And so that's what people are trying to avoid. That's
(17:19):
why people are trying to not lose their minds. In
any case, there's a lot of other texts that have
come in on the subject real quick. I'm well aware
there's probably some good Thanksgiving movies that I've forgotten, because
as many as there are Christmas movies, and as tried
(17:40):
as this is to say, I think I'm going to
say it that to me, there is only one Thanksgiving movie,
and it's Planes, Trains and Automobiles. And that doesn't necessarily
mean I want to see it every year, because like
a lot of people, sometimes you need to get away
from it a little bit. I just don't think there's
any other And part of my impetus here is is
a newse in Netflix. I'm not sure which entity did it,
(18:06):
a new documentary on John Candy, the Life and Times
of John, the Late Great John Candy. And I was
told that at the end of it, the end of
it is basically Steve Martin. I mean that everyone who
watches it is in not just in tears, they're sobbing
(18:29):
by the end of it, because Steve Martin talking about
the end of the motion picture playing trains and Autmobiles,
which is one of the most emotionally satisfying if gut
wrenching closes to a film ever. And that's all built
around John Candy, Right, I want to give it away
(18:50):
in case you've never seen the movie. But there's an interest,
there's a resolution that explains a lot about John Candy
or about the character he played opposite Steve Martin plays
trans and autobiles, and apparently Martin talks about the filming
of that portion of the film, And if I guess
(19:11):
you're a puddle watching the movie, I'm told you're even
gonna be more of a puddle listening to him or
watching him discuss that seminal motion picture, especially the ending
of it. I just don't think the acting by Candy
is I'll just say it, and if it's pst, people
(19:31):
can nominate me for a short stretch, for an ending,
for a last look on the face of a main character.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I don't think there's ever been a better acting performance.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
I think it's that good, it's that mythic, it's that dramatic,
and so there's a part of me that says, we
don't even need to have any more debates about it.
Other people may, for personal reasons, have their own favorite,
but come on, I mean, how do you top not
just the film, because there's parts of that movie that
(20:04):
I actually find a little too silly for me, but
the last thirty minutes of that motion picture. My god,
it's just I'm tearing up thinking about it. You've seen it,
I assume I have not.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
You have not seen it?
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Seen it?
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Well, I'm not going to rip you for it. I'm
not going to be one of those people, what an
idiot you're not. But I and I would heartily recommend
sometime maybe this year, maybe another year, you watch it
because I envy the fact that for you it'll all
be fresh. For us, it's all we kind of know
what's coming, but it's still so good. That's the compliment
(20:36):
to Candy and the director and to Martin playing off
him so brilliantly. But for you, the idea that you've
never seen it it you know, I envy having it,
you know, be in my future potentially with the with
not having that built in knowledge that most of us have.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
I think i've seen the one at least no part
of the bit of the speech that he does at
some point the eyelight me.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
I don't know if that's what you're referring to. Yes,
that's earlier, but it's a great scene. Another outstand that
You're absolutely right. It's another reason I've got nothing else
outside of that, Yeah, it's uh, it's terrific. I'm told
it's on Amazon. The documentary is on Amazon Prime. Was
what a couple of people have said, Not not Netflix,
but it's uh. And then there's a couple other people
(21:21):
who apparently haven't seen it. We said, they're gonna watch
it tonight, or maybe they mean they have seen it,
but now, spurred on by my motivational speech, they figure
why not make tonight the night they see it again.
I wonder if our prediction segment guest has ever seen planes,
trains and automobiles and what he makes of it. We'll
find out when Carl Gerbschmidt joins for the prediction segment
(21:45):
on a Tuesday that's next.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Go. He will store this time for the Bumper to
Bumper award winning and fl sh segments On a fan
that brought to you by Continental Diamonds Now to help
you break down this week's games, here's your favorite NFL long,
(22:12):
Dan Barrero.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Hey Gurby, Hello, those aren't pillows? Does that that line
mean anything to you?
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah, some players fans that automobile.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
My sources say you're a big John Candy guy.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
That's a great movie, danic film, It's It's and and
John Candy was really very good.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Yes he was.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
I mean I used to watch him, you know, way
back when he was a s c TV sure, back
in the day. Yeah, back in the day. I'm choked
out because yah, yeah, people.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Take your time.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Background was younger. I used to look at my John
Candy watch some Yeah. Yeah, I used to look like
I didn't have the same haircut.
Speaker 6 (23:10):
But were you was funny, you know, you know in
that movie, in the movie where where he says, there's
you know, damn, there's people who don't like me, especially
people in Missota.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
They don't like me. And I'm I'm I'm sensitive guy,
and yeah, and I know sometimes I get a little aggressive. Damn.
I like me, Okay, I like me, and I'm I
(23:46):
don't I'm sorry, are you okay? I didn't I do?
Speaker 1 (23:51):
I mean, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
I didn't see this John Candy amaze me emotional too.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
I didn't know you make it yourself though, because I.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Kind of look like iman people. That movie meant a
lot to me. And and if people in Missota that's
still like me, but it's okay, well, you know, I.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Like me in fairness to them, I mean, in fairness
to those people, isn't it unlike John Candy in the
motion picture Planes, trains and Automobiles, wouldn't it be fair
to say that you you bring it on a lot
of it yourself.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
I don't really see that because Sean Candy, if.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
He was guilty of anything, was trying too hard. I
don't think you ever tried too hard not to be liked,
not to be liked by this audience, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
I can't. I think I do, like, come on every week.
I don't get paid anyone year enough money to do it,
and I give them myself, and I don't just you know,
promote my latest business venture. You don't know you should
(25:04):
go to the Wisconsin in active iceboags breakfast.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
What you emphasize every week?
Speaker 3 (25:10):
I mean, well, we have an agreement. I'm allowed to
do that.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah, but I mean it does come off necessarily self serving,
doesn't it.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Well, I have a family, Dan, You're.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Not living check to check, Carl, we know that. I mean,
that's a little bit sure.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
I really I'm not because they've done quite well and
a lot.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Of well, yeah that's what I'm.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
But but but sometimes I just kind of feel like yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
And were you ever as big as because she was
a big guy?
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Not quite. Well, there's a couple of years right after
you get married you can't ye because the wife's making
good food every night, or you're going out a lot
of kill boss. Sure, no, I kill boss.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
That's okay, Yeah, but kill boss is good. It's good
for you too. Were you ever as funny as I mean?
Speaker 3 (26:03):
You never?
Speaker 1 (26:04):
You haven't ever struck me as being all that funny
compared to John Candy.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
But I don't want to hurt your feelings.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
I think I'm paid. Damn you do.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
John Candy?
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Well, you know none of that stuff was written for him.
Damn you know. Not that stuff was ahead of time.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
I see it wasn't It just wasn't his natural talent.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
You're saying, well, okay, I think he's very talented. But yeah,
they got right. I don't have righted man. I just
meet Okay. I don't have like a staff. I do,
but they work in the Department of Transportation, those people
on the Notorious and not Okay, I'm doing let's let's
(26:46):
talk about let's talk about something though.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
To them, well, I had no idea that this struck
a nerve with you. It's it's interesting because I almost
didn't bring it up till later in the show.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
But I don't like people don't like me that much.
And I just use that speech as moovation because I
like me. I'm good, I'm fine, I'm I'm I have
accepted that, you know, some people, not everybody's gonna like me, Dan.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
I'm sure you know that.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
I mean, I'm sure you have to live that every day,
you know, because I don't know anyone who likes you,
but I'm sure there are.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Well. PJ Fleck now so much after today, But that's
another story. A couple of texts have come in that
might be of interest to you because people are.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Not yet. I really miss him. He's not.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Well. I'm sure he'll be compassionate. I'm sure his text,
whenever it comes, will be compassionate. Tell mister weepy. This
is from Maury Amsterdam. Guy in Minneapolis. Tell mister weepy
that his tears don't wipe out his past digressions. I
think he might mean transgressions. I guess it could also
(27:58):
be digressions, but he's calling you, mister weepy.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
I don't have any transgressions. You know, all are you
talking about Dan.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
This is a real tear jerker moment for your listening audience.
We love Gurby. Please pass this along.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Thank you, thank you very much, O day nice, thank you.
I'm sorry. I don't mean to get emotional. Dar let's
talk about let's let's I at the end of the
last football game, I had a simple request for all,
miss what's that to just admit that you are very
(28:39):
embarrassed by this whole situation.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Situation and we've gotta get more specific what situation? Football team,
the record and McCarthy, bitch, all.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Of it, pierced the whole thing. Yeah, and just and
then to get off social media. So I think a
lot of people did that, and I didn't get a reaction.
Science want to, you know, remind people. And we didn't
necessarily end ja J. McCarthy's career. We didn't necessarily end it.
(29:10):
But aren't you kind of glad that it worked out
that way? I mean, yeah, we exposed him, and.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
So you think do you think he might you might
have done ultimately the franchise of favor so that they
no longer can pretend that he's viable as the guy
in the present or the future.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
I think that's I think that that's something that everybody
should really say.
Speaker 6 (29:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Yeah, are you saying you don't think he's hurt? You
think they're making up the injury.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
I know, I think he probably is because you hit
him a lot.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Play a couple of times.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
I think, no, damn, we don't do that. No, No,
you know they don't. You know we're not cheap shot people. No,
it's it was so much fun to see the video
of the packageing doing you clap your heels over your
head thing in our end zone? And I have the answer.
I just enjoying it. Yeah, it was just fun. It
was a fun game. There's a bunch of you from Minnesota.
(30:07):
The cancer game.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
I heard there was twenty There were twenty thousand Vikings
fans at that game. Is that possible?
Speaker 3 (30:12):
I think I didn't count him right down. Well, but
I'm glad to spend their money. Ghost And that's beyond that.
A couple of people visit the interactive ice boats, but
on their way to the ramble, so you.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Know, six' five one guy wants to get in on this.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Matter, Ah Max, Brosmer does it?
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Matter who is?
Speaker 1 (32:36):
That first of, ALL i think he's older than your.
Quarterback he was in college for like nine. Years HE'S
i think twenty seven years. Old he's got the mott
they say his. Processings he didn't have to rewire any
of his neurological.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Pathways they're already.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Rewired he supposedly has the quickest quarterback mind in the league.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
And supposed to be like Another Kurt warner kind of
got someone's been a failure up to this, point and
and now he's going to be really. Great, well, yeah
wife with a really bad.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Haircut person has never been a. Failure is his first.
Opportunity he's a, rookie his first opportunity to be a
pro Football he went here to The university Of. Minnesota
you don't remember from last? Year max.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Pros, YEAH i don't. TRACK i don't really track Miss
university Of.
Speaker 1 (33:33):

True living the dream, Guy. CARL i may not like your,
TEAM i may not like your, smugness BUT i like, You.
Carl keep your chin, up, buddy and Happy. Thanksgiving so
that's more than you. Deserve quite, frankly what.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Are you talking, About? Dan i'm sami. GRACIOUS i like
that guy. Too, okay you'll turn me like the fact
that he has no idea how football is supposed to be,
Like BUT i.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Like him one more and then let's get to some, games.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Even Though i'd rather.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Not people just sit around texting you all day.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Long they do that when some, people not just, me
they text every show that happens to be on the,
air whatever the, day party, is all day, long all.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Day some some charges, apply like they have to pay
for good question free THOUGH i.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
THINK i think it's mainly.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Free it.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Was it was kind of a new. System we rebooted it.
All it was a. DISASTER i think we have it back.
NOW i got news For.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Gerby according to everybody that worked with, him the best
funniest parts of all his movies were almost all ad.
Lived and you don't want to seem to give him
credit for you basically dismissed that as oh, well they
wrote everything for him and that's how he sounded so,
good WHICH i thought was a little bit for a
guy who was starting to show blubbering with the.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Comparison everything, EVERYTHING.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
I thought that was everything, feeling.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
It was in my, mouth everything you brought it. Up
look are you are you denying the fact that that
movie was written by somebody?
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Else oh, no of course. Not but that doesn't mean
he didn't act successfully in pulling off some of the.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Lines And i'm just, Saying, dan IF i, had IF
i had a script in front of, ME i could
add lip off of. It think of how think of
the it be a laugh.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
RIOT i thought that's what you.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Did i'm all.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
CONFUSED i don't have a, Script.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Dan off the, top.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
It's all, contemporary is?
Speaker 1 (35:38):
IT i, know sporaneous or.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Contemporaneous what's the word.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Extemporaneous, YEAH i think that's.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
RIGHT i know it's hard to, believe BUT i, do
just just off the top of my.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Head yeah it.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Is that's.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
SHOCKING i, mean for a, FEVER.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
I think would be. Good Larry Mandel.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Mondelo, guy Not mandelo, Guy Larry Mondel.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
So he's. Not he's kind of against the little. Piece
SO i think he should write down EVERYTHING i say
and kind of punch it. Up then maybe we'll see
if he's.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Fine do you think you're a? Hypocrite what are you talking?
About Sweeney's guy thinks you? Are Who Sweeney's? Guy carl
cries about.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
All your listeners have stupid.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Names many of them. Do, Yes carl cries about being
a nice, guy and.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
They kind of text it and identify himself doing the
fact that they.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
And in the next, breath hold on you scroll down
here very. Quickly and in the next breath he makes
fun Of Kurt warner's wife's ugly. Haircut what a? Hypocrite
it makes fun of.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
IT i only noticed that.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
You observed, it and that's how you described. It that's
not Very John candy cut well to each their.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
Own, MAN I.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
I'm not here TO i judge a. LOT i don't
judge haircuts BECAUSE i don't have any.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Hair you gotta call like you see it then, yeah
BUT i guess that's what it.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
Is what if am out, THERE i think that's a good.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Haircut, hey by the, WAY i get do you remember
the score The Golfer wisconsin game last?
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Year?
Speaker 1 (37:15):
No, OKAY i might want to look it up before
you dismiss that, Before, no before you Dismiss Max. Brosmer
is this not entity college?
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Football it's like you know the. PLAYER i don't you.
Know It's i'm happy With wisconsin wins that. CHAMPIONSHIP i
don't think they're going to do that this.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Year it's unlikely at this.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
POINT i don't you. Know there's PEOPLE i know people
who get all worked out about.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
It is that?
Speaker 3 (37:42):
Right they want to get a bunch of people fired and.
Stuff BUT i think most of those are just people
who like to go at the game and jump around
and get.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Drunk caffein would be less Without. GERBY i Love. Carl
That's scott In. DULUTH i Love scott.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
Too this is a very good holidays show.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
You one last one and then we got to get
to some.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Picks kyle from four times. Ago you want to talk about?
Speaker 1 (38:11):
Embarrassing what About Matt lafleur's pencil fin beard and eyebrows
looks like the lead singer Of. SMASH i don't. Know
i'm Just matt.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Coach matt Is my wife is very enamored with the
way it.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Has a crush on. Him fair to, say, YEAH.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
I THINK i think she says that that he's on her.
List AND i, said, honey we don't really do, that not.
Swingers we're not going to do.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
That Thank. God who's got the best B M i
among head coaches in THE Nfc NORTH i.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Don't even know what that, is but that Sounds.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
No it's body mass, INDEX i think is the. Term,
no it's got to be our. Guy IT'S, koc isn't.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
It you know what it might?
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Be Ben? Johnson, Actually Ben johnson's cut pretty.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
Good. Fraud he's a.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
FRAUD i see a.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Fraud he's got the bears are eight and.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Three what WHAT i got something? For Ben? Johnson come
get Some, Okay Ben, jahson where did you get?
Speaker 2 (39:18):
That some Broughtworths rosoto something or something?
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Else? Well, no you can get. Back so we haven't
on the menu this. Week, also we haven't brought with
stuffing And Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Gerby you, went you went three and all last Week
Guardian guardy Threw Brett blakemore went three and.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
All last WEEK i went one and two.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Again so the current standings Are gurby twenty one and
Fifteen guardy nineteen.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Seven you could have Maybe, dan you could have someone
else lip.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Point it's not a bad idea, actually AND i am
fifteen and twenty. One it's. EMBARRASSING i have no other
way to put. It there's no question about. That WHY
i thought The vikings would at least COVER i have
actually no, idea BUT i.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
Did that's one. Home i'm a. Homer that's that's no.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
Question the reason that people in this should be in.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Bed how, so what do you mean.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Tweets during the middle of a.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Game what's wrong with? That he became multitask and it's
not that.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Difficult, no maybe he has. RIGHT i don't.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Know you Don't you don't think your guy a tweets during.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
Games he takes his jet seriously, professional he's like he
is a just a great way of putting.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
It Dam, okay if you say the Game bears The
Black Friday. GAME i think it's a two O'clock central.
START i think you're gonna be able to hear it
on the. Fan Chicago bears eight and three At Philly,
eagles coming off a disastrous performance blowing a twenty one
(40:53):
lead to The Dallas. Cowboys eagles are favored by six
and a half.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
POINTS i Will i'm not.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
WELL i already did the coin flip, thing OR i
did the car car fob flip.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
THING i don't know what's left to. Do i'll just
take to do.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
That what A bear beat up At eagle do that
kind of.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
Apason i'm going to pick The eagles to cover BECAUSE
i think The. BEARS i believe in them a little
bit now under this, coach BUT i think they're due
not only to lose as the schedule gets, TOVERED i
think they're they're due to have a game that they're
not finally. In i'm going to take The, eagles bitter
with the way they finished Against. Dallas uh In, Philly
(41:35):
eagles will cover the six and a. Half Brett Blake,
MOORE i don't think The bears win another game this,
season So i'm going to Go eagles to cover. COMFORTABLY
i Think Cale williams actually struggles against that defense that
could very well Be. GERBY i think.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
The fact that you have seen Producer Prett blake more
on with you makes this sole segment. Smarter it, is
it really. Does it's much smarter than it was, before
Although jordan has a pretty good. Devoice, ANYWAY i would
say off the top of my head That philadelphia is
(42:08):
like fourteen and three straight up at the last seventeen.
Games and here's a kicker is that their four one
against spread in their last five, games And chicago is
one five against the spread in their last six games
against the off the top of my. Head so THEREFORE
i say this not is only an emotional, one but
it's also a logical. One philadelphia will.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
Cover packers At. Lions, that of, course is the early
game of The Thanksgiving detai.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Game, tomorrow then we can.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Eat packers At lions is a two and a half points.
Spread detroit is favored by two and a half. Points, similarly,
Well detroit technically won last. WEEK i felt like they lost,
morally which means their head coach is going to have
them ready your. Team, Still i'm not dismissing your. Club
(43:02):
But i'm still not odd by your. Club it's In.
Detroit it's only two and a. Half detroit will Cover red. Blakemore,
yeah here's The.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
Detroit defense is not very, good giving up that many
points in that many yards To Jameis. WINSTON i like
the offense to move the, ball And jordan loved to
move the, ball and the defense were lights out AGAINST
jj McCarthy and The. Vikings so why Not hey they
beat The. Lions, yes so it's not very.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Nice i'll Go green made a.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
Cover this is the guy who started the show revealing
that vulnerability and, blubbering and now you're making fun of.
Concussions the lights?
Speaker 2 (43:44):
Out what's the lights out?
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Reference so you picked The, packers all, Right, Gerby i'm
Gonna i'm gonna. Predict you're gonna as badly AS i predict.
THINGS i am gonna pick predict. Successfully you're gonna pick
The packers over The.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
Lions it's it's, Tough, dame because we are only two
and seven against the spread in the last nine, games
but one of them was last. Week but then the
funny part about Is detroit is also to and four
in the last six games against the, spread AND i
think what happened this Last sunday is both teams are
(44:22):
kind of looking past their. Opponent but the difference is
when they look past their, part they. Lose when we
look past our, opponent we. Win and a matter of,
fact we. Not we destroyed. This SO i think this
is A i think a. Situation, well we're gonna win the,
(44:42):
game which Means detroit does not. Cover so let's go at.
That we'll Take Greame bay, last but not.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Least Vikings seahawks spread is ten and a.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Half that's a lot of.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Points. Man that's you want to talk about disrespect acting our. Franchise,
well you are what you, are and your record is
what you what it actually.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
Is who do you think is disrespecting?
Speaker 1 (45:09):
Them, WELL i would say The, vikings but you would
suggest it's disrespectful Of.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Seattle that's not a BIGGER i.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
THINK i, THINK i think everything is pretty.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Much it looks Like i'm gonna. Tick i'm gonna pick
the The i'm gonna Pick brozemer to stand tall enough
to make it probably a ten point. Loss i'll take
The vikings to Cover that extra half point is. Key
i'll take The vikings to. Cover what do you think
the spread to open this Was seahawks one and a.
Half it has now moved to ten and a.
Speaker 5 (45:42):
HALF i don't know if that started like the start
of the, season but that's WHAT i have for.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
It the opening. Odds.
Speaker 5 (45:47):
UH i just think an undrafted rookie quarterback going on
the road against got nothing a good team in one
of the loudest stadiums in the, league low.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
Clouds that is, true could be. Raining who, Knows i'm
going to go with the.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
COVER i don't even know who your quarterback. IS i
don't even know who that. Is, YEAH i don't even
What MAYBE i don't even know who he. Is, anyway
let's get, logic kis here for a. Second your season just. Ended,
okay the whole team knows. That everybody knows. That you
(46:23):
guys are in the media knowing all your fans know.
It and now you're not a Playing you're gonna fly
for three and a half hours At kiao And seattle's,
good and you're gonna play it a goofy time of the.
Day you got nothing to play. For we just killed.
You seattle's going to kill you even. WORSE i DON'T
(46:44):
i don't know why you people put yourself through this.
STUFF i really, don't you. KNOW i Think thanksgiving weekendsh
of about good feelings and. Family you're getting, together it's
not about misery and. Pain don't put yourself Through.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
So you're Picking seattle to cover it sounds, like.
Speaker 3 (47:03):
Yeah, EASY i think it's ABOUT i think it's about three.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
Touchdowns ernest borgnine would be On gerby's wife's.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
LIST i don't think she's. Dead, well what kind of
sticky is? THAT i don't know whoa? Boy you've got
some people, being, oh is there a way you can
kind of block that guy so he doesn't get that out.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
THERE i don't think it's, necessary BUT i do want to.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
WISH i don't wish you a Happy thanksgiving you and
see if Producer Brett blake when Not jordan's so.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Much he's in The.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
Bahamas but, you, GUYS i like me AND i like.
You how do you? Day it's getting sounds.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
Like Stuart smalley with a very very different. Accent top
of the, hour break is the, next and then It's
Kevin seaffert in. Studio you've got, vikings questions or, comments
and they don't have to be about the, quarterback but
it can be six four six eight six Branch On
