Speaker 2 (00:35):
What well.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Holidays are over, but I'm still feeling the holiday missed.
I'm getting missy just looking at Ryan Donaldson, our old buddy.
Ryan Donaldson in here for another edition of Todd Tuesdays,
the original Todd's Meet Sauce Paul Lambert. We are officially
on Beckham Boulevard. Hi guys, Oh high guards, how's it going.
It's good to be back. You are a father now
since we last am I am congratulations. And Louis is
(01:02):
now one years old? Yeah man, one year old? Yeah,
one year old.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
It's uh.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
And Ryan knows this because his son is exactly three
months older than mine. But like the personality that happens,
and like he knows who I am now. Like six
months ago, I was just a guy that cleaned up
green poop. You know and like picked him up and
fed him and all that. Now he like knows who
I am. And it's fantastic. Yea, Like he'll reach for
me when when my wife has him. It's the best.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
They're human beings, human, not just vegetables laying there.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Correct. Yeah, correct, Yeah it's my sister. Yeah, Yeah, they're great.
What was the birthday cake that Louis had?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
It was hey, Uh so I got to see that
in person?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, my uh for my wife's push present, I got
her a very small push present.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
No, no, hold on.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
It needs a rebrand. I feel like the name of.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
It, No, just the act of it is so twenty
twenty six. It was the thing in twenty fourteen when
we were having kids. But I'm like push President, and
I'm like, plus a baby sprinkle. When you have another one,
I'm sure you'll have a sprinkle. Yeah, for sure, multi sprinkle.
The Push President is the most Todd Tuesday thing of
all time. It was a Todd Tuesday gift. It was
a fine leather bag that you would get it.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
I don't know. The galleria, yeah exactly.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
And yeah, first second floor, right when you walk in,
right past pottery barn. If it's on the left ask
for Christian if you go in there. But uh, yeah,
it was a nice bag. I got my wife and
so that was Louise cake. That was Louise cake that
the woman replicated, yeah, but it was like a Louis bit. Yeah,
(02:37):
I got this and he doesn't know. It was great.
The cake was outstanding.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
My wife.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
It was the lady she found and then I saw
how much it was and I'm like, are you what?
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Oh yeah, And then but when it showed up, it
was outstanding. It was great.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Kel did a good job with the tray too, she
like decked it out and Louiston looking stickers and.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
L l Yeah, it was great. Die know, I gotta
go full Todd. It's Todd Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
The only reason I'm bringing that up is because it
is so on brand for you and the fact that
you were there and you do everything Ryan.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
And like, oh yeah, I get it.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Literally at the time your son is how old?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
He's fifteen months?
Speaker 4 (03:14):
What's his name? Beck? That is definitely on brand. I'm
back in Boulevard and how's it going so far? He's great.
He's fan Dad's. We're doing a fan Dad's reboot real quick.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
We're super lucky because he's been a very good sleeper.
He's got good demeanor, he's not too much of a brat.
He eats his food just what he sleeps the night
and so far, so good. We're really lucky. He takes
after his mom. I think, yes, they're listening. I assume,
of course my mother in law's listening.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Who smart? Wish it was two hours of tennis talk.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah, we've got the Australian Open coming up, so I
can't tweets from your mom. Do you will be Yeah?
I don't know when it's late at night right, because
it's in Australia. She's on the other side of the world.
Saus his mother in lawn. I never want to meet
her ever, unless we're at Wimbledon, unless we'd go on
a trip together to Wimbledon.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
We just text about ten the best. Yeah, yeah, I
have someone to talk to about tennis is the best
and she gets my bit. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
When I teat something about tennis, she knows, yeah, oh yeah,
it's the greatest.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Ryan.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
How have you handled the Viking season this year? I
haven't been on social media much. How's everything gone so
far this year?
Speaker 4 (04:15):
The last month?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
My my Twitter's quieted down a little bit. Team's been winning,
for better or for worse.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
How do you feel about the job, Quazy, I wish
you would have.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Done a better job.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
To be honest with you, I don't know if he
deserves this job anymore in my opinion, but he's going
to keep the job. I'm going to accept that. I'm
liking the way JJ is looking when he's healthy. Yeah,
I think he's turned things around. I don't love the
money that Quaycy spent in the offseason, but his kind
of twenty twenty four free agent classes what's carrying. I
(04:47):
think his kind of legacy so far in Minnesota drafting,
not so much. Free agency. This past year was a
little bit of a miss, but things are Things are
clicking a little bit. Dallas Turner's looking good, JJ's looking
good and Will recherd can't.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Miss the Ryan Kelly money is what's gonna Yeah, that's
what hurts. Still cut him though, right a lot. At
some point they'll cut him to Ryan Kelly. At some point.
It's like, bro, he's gonna hang him out. You got
to take care of yourself. Like I want people to
do what they want to do. But that's some scary
stuff when it hurt all the.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Time with concussion. Every time you go on the field,
you get a concussion.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I know we've talked a lot about that Sauce, but
I feel like it needs like to be said more.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
And that's what kills this.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Free agent class, right, because fine, he's been okay in
sense of guy's not great. But the class he had
a year ago talking about Clay was rock solid.
Speaker 7 (05:36):
Right.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
All those guys are studs.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
And that's where being a commodities trader helps is you
find undervalued assets and you invest slow.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Your buddies know about this.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Ryan Blake friends, they know, they know Sauce. You know,
your uncle knows he could join on Todd Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
My buddy's in New York, and they understand.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
You find maybe a distressed asset, you put a little
money in it, and the next thing you know, Jonathan Gernard, Blake,
Cashman and who else gang right, Yeah, Andrew van Ginko.
But that was But the Kelly thing, that's a tough
l it.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Is, and like he had some history coming in before
we signed him. I think he had three documenting concussions
and now he's got three this year alone, including one
with the Guardian cap, which, like, I don't know how
that's even possible. But the poor guy, I feel bad
because he's a tough dude and he loves the game,
and I don't know if he's gonna be able to
play it anymore.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
So, saus, how do you feel about if the Vikings
win this season or win this game Saturday, and they
should because Green Bay is playing nobody?
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Yeah, could play for a green Day? Yeah? Right here?
Speaker 7 (06:38):
Left?
Speaker 4 (06:40):
What position? Probably deep safety? Deep safe? Yeah? Put him
in maybe a kick return it it's crazy to think
that if they.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Win on Sunday, they are nine and eight and a
half game out of a playoff spot and chaos.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I think that goes to the coaching. I really think
it does.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
I think you can hammer on Kaos and not winning
a playoff game. You can have on some things.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
But he took a rag tag team that played three quarterbacks,
one of which and I'm not just saying this because
you know I'm captain negative when it comes to the Gophers.
A kid who probably won't be on an NFL roster
next season in Brosber, a kid in JJ McCarthy who
is fine so far, and the version of Wentz. That
(07:21):
is he was the tin man.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Basically he was just wrecked from the start, right, And
as I think it was Florio who had was on
with Pa earlier talking about how you brought.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Him in with like one with like the end of
training camp.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
You brought him in the labor day weekend, right, so
like you knew you needed somebody.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
I think that the one thing that they're going to
look back on is like it all changes, Right, It's
the butterfly effect that Corey cob always talks about. Right,
but like you win that Chicago game, you don't give
up that kick return in that Chicago game. Who knows
what happens if coming off the momentum he had from
the first game, if McCarthy plays, No, he played against
(08:01):
the Falcons and they were terrible.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
But you know he needed.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
What happens if he gets the boost that Wentz got
playing that hideous, hideous Cincinnati defense. Now, when it all
boils down to at the end of the season, I
think they're gonna have to take a long look at
the options that might be available. If a Baker Mayfield
who might be available. Everybody keeps springing up Lamar Jackson, Nope,
you have to look though at because you can't guarantee
(08:28):
JJ McCarthy will be the starting quarterback next year week one,
because you just you can't rely on him. He's always
hurt and the good games he's had are against historically
bad defenses. I don't want the kid to fail, but
he was great against Washington. I mean, they're playing in
half speed and the Cowboys defense is historically and hideously bad.
(08:50):
So they'll take a long look. Winning this game on
Sunday with him doesn't matter. They're starting backups and backups.
If he goes out and throws for four forty and
four touchdowns, they know it. In the big picture, it
doesn't really matter to look great on paper. They'll celebrate
the victory, but it's gonna be an interesting off season
with that quarterback room.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
I want to talk. I want to talk about that
when we come back. I want to pause.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Let you guys FaceTime your kids, because, as multiple people said,
you're not the first people to have children.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
My mother of six Saint six.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
We've got another segment of Todd Tuesday, will continue the
Jj and Vikings discussion when we come back. Don't forget
picks with Carl Gerbschmidt, and these guys are going to
stay Byron, right, that's what he called.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
He used to call me barf Man, barf Man.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
That's right, barf Man and Meatball will join for the
pick segment with the now interviewed in the Star Tribune
and I'm not making that up.
Speaker 8 (09:37):
Carl Gerbschmidt at the bottom of this and help us
thank the educator shaping our future. You nominate a public

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Second segment on Steve Street, It's a Todd Tuesday on
a Friday meetas Paul Lambert and Ryan Donaldson the original Tides.
I'm justin guard. We are in for Barrero. We've been
here since two o'clock. Karl Gertschmidt and the Prediction segment
coming up about ten minutes from now.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
These guys are going to stick around for that.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
We are out at four thirty Vikings programming to get
to and then Halvey and Mark Parrish on the Call
for the World Junior Championships hockey going on at Grand Casino,
the USA against Finland. They dropped a pucket five o'clock
and Halvey and Hermantown. We'll be right along there with.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Them all time, bit, all time bit. We played it.
What day was I in here, Brett? Was that Wednesday?
New Year's Eve? Or was that Tuesday the thirty?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
I heard it semi recently, but it wasn't that recently.
So you ran it back again? Huh we ran it back?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Why not? You have to drill it into the ground town,
and it is heck of a hockey game. Heck of
a hockey game. Two freat games here at the X
less far. It'd be funny if somebody it's.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Good though, if we played his hockey play by play,
his real hockey play by play, and then like put
it side by side somehow with If you watch the
Power Trip morning show stream at like seven thirty at
any given morning, you'd say, how is that the same person?
This person looks like a love sack of all of America.
He doesn't want to move, and then he's got this
(11:31):
burst of energy. Yeah he's so good at playing, Yeah,
yeah he's great. That's the same guy who misses the weather,
love it and he's got one job. He's got to
read the vibe and he misses the weather and play
that again back left side circles und so good at
(11:55):
that time, but he forgets to tell you have Nate
BARGESSI tickets and Pampan dot Com keeper contest Herbantown. Right,
So stay with the Vikings. You mentioned the IFFs and
the ands and the butts if the Vikings.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Season, which you got to talk about when you don't
make the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, and it is tragic because this defense is rolling
right now.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Floe is doing great.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
They were injured at the beginning of the season, right,
Gank missed a bunch of time, Cash missed a bunch
of time, like now Grenard's out. Obviously, the biggest what
if for me in this season is what if Kevin
O'Connell and you and I can understand this saus because
we went to multiple colleges and never graduated.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Correct.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
What if and you went to Arizona so you're in
on this too, That's why you're here.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
I have a diploma, that's right.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
What if KOC made JJ McCarty take the prerequisite courses
and didn't audit those and say, hey, you're ready for
Koc quarterback college the three hundred level. Yeah, because the
stuff that he's doing now and you mentioned a doc
like playing okay, right when HEELTI like, at least completing
passes to open receivers, which is what we were for
a while, wasn't happening.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Right, J toned it down and it's working out a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yes, which is what the building block should have been
that second game against Atlanta any other time and he
comes back. But I just remember when they were overseas
and the nightmares trip for all of them, and they're
talking about the things that he's working on JJ in October.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
In October, yeah, and it's.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Like bass and ball and balance and body and Brozemer
and approachable and neurological stuff reads. It's like bro it's October,
Like Micah Parsons is about to be on him right,
Like Miles Garrett is staying two hotels away. He can't
be thinking about all that stuff. Just dumb it down.
And they've started to do that, and he's actually been functional.
(13:39):
What if they did that this whole summer and this
whole offseason and instead of because what Koc likes doing
he did it with Dobbs the past or not. I'll
never forget, and I'll let you guys talk here in
a second my show. I guess Todd Tuesday when Dobbs
came in here and looket the world on fire and
was running all over the place and doing the cool
pasture not stuff, and there you're selling shirts at for
(14:00):
twenty bucks.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
It's great.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
And Kose kept saying, I can't wait to keep working
with him and getting the morning the offense like, well.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
No, don't do any of that because he can't wring it.
He can't do that.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
No, you can't make him Kirk Cousins, you can't make
him Matt Stafford. Had they just done that, I think
the Vikings Grease ought a couple of more wins, and
I think JJ's probably further along. Now we don't know
about the injuries, but I think he's further along. That
to me is the biggest regret of the season. Yeah,
I think you're correct.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
I think the other thing, though, when you look back
at it, you go through every game and you look
at the what ifs and the butts and all that
of the season is when we saw him in that
fourth quarter against Chicago and that Monday night football game electric.
That's probably the most excited I've been for a Minnesota
Vikings post game and the euphoria that it was when
(14:48):
Moss caught those two touchdowns against Tampa ninety eight, because
he was just a wagon and he was unstoppable. And
you're like, Kelly and I went back and watched that
game again. That's how electric that fourth quarter was. They
were dead. He throws the interception and they're dead, and
he leads them back on the road in his first
start on Monday night football, and you're going, we got
(15:09):
something here. This kid, like Charlie Sheen said, he has
tiger blood. Man, this kid is unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
And then he goes out and he looks like Charlie
Brown trying to kick a field goal?
Speaker 4 (15:19):
What else is? And it's hideous? Right?
Speaker 5 (15:21):
But you got to think, though, like where was that
magic run? I know you can't put him in the
same scenario, but run that stuff. Let him play with
reckless abandon like he did in those last twelve minutes
of that game.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
All season.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
Now, as we're learning this Atlanta defense is outstanding, It's
a tough way to go against that team in your
second game. But yeah, no, I'm with you. Why didn't
we just dumb it down and run normandale classes for
him right when he got there?
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yeah, he needs to go out and play backyard football.
And what he's proved in that first Chicago game was
like everyone agreed, like, JJ McCarthy's got that clutch gene. Yeah,
he's got that winning mentalities one everywhere he's gone at
all levels. And it didn't seem like he was able
to ever get that back. Like it seemed like he
was overthinking everything, like you said, because he was playing,
(16:09):
you know, the KOC offense within that offense, trying to
think too much, and and then he went down the
whole nine rabbit hole, and and then he became one
of the more popular internet memes of that. Still, it's amazing.
That meme is gonna lie forever. And Yeah, I think
he's definitely regretted that. And luckily I don't think he
refers to himself as nine anymore.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
I don't think he regrets it. That's you can tell
Chaos does not have a lot of time for all
that stuff. He's not, and honestly.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Fans do either.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Right, Well, when you're grittying on your way into the
end zone, even though the head coaches told you don't
do it like Forest, don't encourage it. That doesn't like
most of us are like Bro, I wouldn't do that
if I were you. No, like you and I know
our place at the fan, right, there's things that we
can't do that other people that other people do.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
But I also think, though we talked about it off
the year, if you're Jaden Daniels coming off that season,
do it right. If you led your team to the
NFC Championship game in your first year, gritty away, But.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
When you're barely hanging on to.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
A functional offense, don't do it after you're told not
to do it.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
I don't know. I think I don't know.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
I thought I think he there's parts of him that
Koc is like, maybe this kid doesn't happen.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Yeah, well, I think this it's very importance. You know,
this game means absolutely nothing, but I think it's important
for JJ McCarthy to be playing on Sunday, like the
fact that he's healthy enough to go out there and
have a full practice this week and just to get
one last look at him before the offseason starts like
this is gonna be a job audition for him, whether
it's just through his play or you know, the way
he's listening to the coach, or if he's gonna not
(17:41):
gritty into the end zone like after KOs tell him
it's all the above, Like all those levels that he's
kind of you know, left us if he on as
fans or as people watching the game. I think that
this is gonna hopefully be something that we get a
little more clarity on.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
All right, let's pivot quickly in our final couple of minutes.
We've got picked with Gerby coming up, Ryan and meets
thoughts are going to hang for that. Gerby was interviewed
by the Star Tribune music critic John Breen, and that
piece ran today. As of this morning, was the number
one red story at the Star Tribune website.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Number two was Coy Parritch is leaving the goperst.
Speaker 6 (18:14):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
So that's the kind of pull. According to Guestling, that's
what he tweeted out this morning. I haven't looked at
the latest numbers. Well, look we'll find out. People remember
when Ryan worked here and we would do shows together,
Cake Show or Bumper to Bumper whatever it was. When
we would talk about the Wolves, Ryan would always bring
up his Rube buddy, who always watches the Wolves more
than anybody. Yeah, I assume you're still in touch with
Rue buddy.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
And he watches the Wolves more than anybody. And we
still call we always called him. His last name is Maslow.
We've always called him Maz, but Matt. We pulled him
up in SU's original Maz and so now he goes
by Maz half the time when we all refer to him,
thanks to meet.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
So okay, so how's Oz feeling about the Wolves right now?
Speaker 2 (18:55):
He's a little down right now.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Bizarre team.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Yeah, he kind of things And I agree with him that,
like if if the players and Ant can't, like you know,
kind of figure things out here, it might need to
be a change of leadership at the top. I have
to say, like you love Finch, like I love Finch
the job he's done, but you can't allow a player
like Ant to to to go off the rails like that,
Like you have to have a coach who's who's either
(19:20):
going to drive the fear into that player to never
leave the court like that or storm off the court
and like be immature and like express himself in that way,
or you can just have to make sure that he's
going to figure it out going forward. And and I
love the job that Finch does. From an x's and
no standpoint, I think he's a good coach. I think
he's the best coach we've had here in a long
long time, probably since Flip Yep and h. But you
(19:42):
can't let your star player get away with walking off
the court. And it's just it's it's embarrassing, it's it's
not it's not acceptable.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Well, let me read you this Twitter description from someone
on Twitter, and I wish I had the actual handle,
but I've seen this variation and I think this individual
hits it.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
I'm curious what you guys think.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
Watching the Minnesota Timberwolves is a real conundrum because sometimes
it's the highest form of ecstasy the world has to offer,
and other times it feels like you're dying ten thousand
unique concurrent deaths. Well said, I think that's spot on
within the same game, and New Year's Eve was one
of the ten thousand where here's the problem, because you're
right about Aunt, he can't do that. However, However, ant's
(20:21):
like problem nine to ten and eleven on this team, right, right,
And I can watch a game in the first quarter
and I can say, well, Julius doesn't have it tonight.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
He's not interested. And I like Julius. It seems like
a good dude.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Yes, he was awesome in the playoffs last year, obviously,
and funny that's why they were really good, right, because
he dominated the Lakers series. He was great against Golden State,
wasn't very good against Okay, see guess what nobody was.
And then those same nights, like I can watch Nas
when he comes off the bench up there's a lazy turnover.
Nas doesn't have it tonight. It's like those guys are
(20:56):
important too. And like I think especially the Julius thing,
because I'm gonna be curious where that goes. Because Finchy
loves Julius. Never holds Julius accountable right for anything, Like
he doesn't have to come to company meetings. No, right,
he doesn't get the call from you know, Abbot saying
where are you? Yeah, like he gets to do whatever.
And so that's what I'm going I'm interested where that
(21:16):
goes because Julius when he's good is outstanding. Now is
when he's good is outstanding, but it's like there's so
much variable or variation with those guys, and I think
that bothers some of the other guys.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Yeah, I think you got to get a coach that's
gonna hold everybody accountable. And if I don't, I don't
want to move on from Finchy. I love Finchy, but
he's got to change his ways to the point where
you're gonna get these players to kind of, you know,
grow up a little bit, and they need to be
held accountable.
Speaker 5 (21:44):
You need a point guard, you badly point guard somebody
like that, whether it's you know, Trey Young and I
don't know anything, but you gotta you need a point
guard to take the pressure off of Ant. I think
part part of ant leaving, not that it's excused, it's inexcusable,
but I think he's tired of carrying the whole team
and he sees what you see where it's like, Okay,
I'm gonna put up thirty and you're gonna lazily shoot
(22:06):
threes in the corner and not get a rebound.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
And I think he really likes Cat.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
I don't think he I think there is a little
bit of maturity with Ant where he doesn't bring that
to the forefront, but I think there's a little bit
of him, Like you traded Cat for this guy. He
loves Cat. I think there's a little bit of that.
But they need a point guard. They need somebody who can,
who can go to the rim, who can who can
make plays without having it always rely on Ant and
(22:31):
I think the roody thing may have may have run
its course.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
However, Rudy's playing great. He is, but his defense is awesome.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Maybe he's one that actually I never have to worry
about if he's going to show up.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
Yeah, and that matters night, and that matters to me.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
And you know, Conley was like that too, And obviously
he's limited because he's older. Yeah, Like it's just it is.
It happens to everybody. There's one more thing about the Wolves.
I wanted to bring up, Oh the moodiness, because they
are up and down. It's like when you and I
hung out in San Diego over the moodiness. And I
don't get the moodiness because everybody on this team has
(23:05):
been paid. Everybody's happy, like this team should have come
and everybody should have been fired up. Nas got paid,
Julius got paid, Obviously An's been paid, Jamee's been paid,
Rudy's been paid ten times.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Like everybody's good. Yeahvincenzo got paid.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yeah, and even he's like one that's got you know,
some contract on certainly the next year and a half.
But he brings it like he doesn't always bring it smartly,
Like he makes very loud turnovers.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Yeah, and you know, big mistakes. But I know where
his heart is. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
I thought the Nas comments after the game the other
night too, were weird.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
It was after a victory.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
I can't remember which game that was, maybe over Chicago,
but he said something like I I've enjoyed my seven
years here in Minnesota. It was almost like he was
trying to say goodbye. It strange, It was very bizarre.
It was a postgame interview and he had a thirty
point game. And guys like Nas, you need to be
checked in every single night, like you just need to.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
You need to not play.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Down to your competition when you're playing against a Brooklyn
net so you're playing against the Pelicans team or.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
A game at two o'clock. That the other thing I know,
like when I and luckily enough, your guy Charlie Swanson
had me at the Knicks game is outstanding. Yeah, they
were juiced for that game.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
Yea.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
But a two o'clock game against the Atlanta Hawks. They
rolled the ball out and they just let it rip.
It was common at noon after a long day of golf. Yeah,
they had nothing. They kneeled the ball in the first quarter.
They just wanted the time to run out.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
I know.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
And that's why Aunt left. Yeah, because I do think
I saw. Yeah, all right, tell my Oz what up?
I will tell tell Rude buddy, I say, hi, I'll.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Make sure I do.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
When we come back. We are going to talk to
Carl Gripsham. When's the last time he talked to Gerby Sauce.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
It's been a while.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I used to fill in for me quite a bit,
so you you would talk to Gerby quite a bit.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Oh, it's been a while though.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
I don't think he cares much for me, but he
loves he loves my mother in law because, as he
would say, she's a warrior. Absolutely, And barsh Man gets
to talk to him as well, which we're all very
excited about the picks with Gerby if we can get
him now that he's been interviewed, believe it or not
by John Breen of the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Gerbian picks coming up.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Net Holy, he could go the day on a Chustown ten.
Speaker 7 (25:08):
He will score this time for the Bumper to Bumper
award winning NFL prediction segment on a fan brought to
you by Continental Diamond.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Now to help you break down this week's games.
Speaker 7 (25:24):
Here's your favorite NFL wonk Dan Borero, We're.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Out guards e in. It is a todd Tuesday on
a Friday meetsass. Paul Lambert is here and Ryan Donaldson
is here as well. We are efforting Carl gerbschmant maybe
he won't come to the phone now that he's been
featured in the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Yes, the newspaper of the Twin Cities. You guys have
heard about this.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Oh yeah, I saw, I mean I saw the guest
link tweet about it. It's a trending number one basically
in the sports section.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Meet the Packers Apologist whom KFA and listeners love to hate.
Carl Gerbschmidt is a popular but polarizing regular on Dan
Barrero's top rated show. And then he's got the Gerby
Twitter handle and Gerby added a profile pick you know
a couple of months ago, which I thought was interesting,
and we have located the now, I guess multi medium
(26:15):
platform vertical star Carl Gerbish on the Connecticot Water Systems hotline,
Happy New Year, Gerby, how are you?
Speaker 6 (26:22):
What did you call me?
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Multimedia star? Vertical platform vertical?
Speaker 6 (26:27):
What the hell is that meaning?
Speaker 3 (26:28):
I'm not sure it's something we're supposed to say in
radio now?
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Actually audio. We're not radio anymore.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
We're audio, and we're on different platforms and different verticals
and what I don't know we might be. I think
we're on iHeartRadio on the app, and I'm told what
we're doing right now is content. It's not radio. We're
doing content and people are consuming content.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
I was supposed to be doing radio, and me too.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
That's how we're supposed to talk. Do I congratulate who?
Speaker 6 (27:01):
Who taught you how to talk like that?
Speaker 4 (27:04):
I'm not sure Before we talk about.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
Your stupid Chazz Abbit.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
I haven't seen Chaz Abbot in two months.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
We never see our managers around here, Gerby, I never
see my boss.
Speaker 6 (27:17):
That's why you guys are rudderless. That's that's why number one,
that's why you guys just wander from place to place?
Speaker 4 (27:27):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (27:28):
I mean, we've been number one for like two decades.
We're doing okay. I wouldn't say we're wandering. I'd say
we're pretty well entrenched. Do you recognize that voice?
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Gerby buff Man?
Speaker 4 (27:40):
What's going on? Man's back?
Speaker 6 (27:42):
How's it going? How's job?
Speaker 2 (27:43):
It's great, We're doing great at it.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
You know who else is here?
Speaker 6 (27:51):
Carl?
Speaker 7 (27:52):
No?
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Hi, Carl?
Speaker 6 (27:55):
Oh, how are you?
Speaker 4 (27:58):
That's me?
Speaker 6 (28:00):
Your son with you?
Speaker 4 (28:01):
No, he's at home with my wife.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
How about your wife? Is your wife?
Speaker 4 (28:04):
No, she's at home watching my son.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
How about your mother in law?
Speaker 4 (28:08):
She come on, No, she's also she's back. Why would
you talk to them?
Speaker 6 (28:15):
I think your son's a double I really think.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
You he is cute. Yeah. What about my mother in
law and my wife?
Speaker 6 (28:21):
Well, I'm not. I think that would be inappropriate for
me to discuss that. Well, they're warriors, they're very much warriors.
I mean that's you have to think that your kid's
going to be okay. I mean he's going to be okay.
It's yeah, it's not so bad having you for a father.
If he got good of the.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Leadership, well, thank you, Carl. I appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
Do you think a good father Do you think a
father figure Carl maybe that that sauce. Could I guess
monitor or take advice from. Would be Dave Sinecon, you
know whose son Jackson turned into just a rider die
Vikings fan.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Do you think that would be good leadership.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
At lessons about how not to do it?
Speaker 3 (29:03):
I think Jackson turned out pretty well. Went to Indiana.
I think he was a football captain.
Speaker 6 (29:06):
He was the captain Indiana.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
For minute taka for they they start winning. H how
is Christmas?
Speaker 6 (29:20):
That's great? That's good. No, Dave, I mean I sent
him a long note. Uh hey, it's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Okay because the.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
Through that period of time. You know, it's tough because
kids rebell I mean they do, they do things and
they kind of go crazy and sometimes it's kind of
see I think for someone to go crazy.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
But did you did your daughter ever have a rebellious
stage in her in her youth?
Speaker 6 (29:54):
Yeah? What kind of it was not about a football team.
She was she as always packers, She's that, you know she.
I did not want her to get into.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
The m M A stuff right, the ultimate fighting.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
Yeah. I didn't think that was a good lady like
thing to do.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Is she still doing that?
Speaker 6 (30:15):
No, she's no, because there her job, the government job,
won't let her.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Oh that's too bad. That's unfortunate.
Speaker 6 (30:23):
I wish I could tell you more about that, but
I have.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Her government job or her m m a non disclosure No.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
The government job.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Yeah, what's called nd A.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
I think she'd worked for the FBI. Far have had
a couple of those. I'm pretty sure I think.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
That was a d U.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
I Oh, okay, Wow, it's amazing how fast you turn.
You've turned on far if you've turned on Rogers. I'm
reading the I'm reading your start t come back.
Speaker 6 (30:51):
He's the ring up saying.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
I'm reading your star tribute Q and A that dropped today.
And I'm sure you've gotten a lot of calls have people.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
I've had a few. I've had some people give me
a call and graduated me. Have been the most red thing.
And I said, how about that? That's great? But what
does that say about the rest of this?
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Which do you prefer? Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers? Was
the question that John Breem asked.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
And answer correct answers Jordan Wow.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
He said, Harv is an all pro and Hall of
Fame and he left. Rogers is all pro and hall
of Fame and he left. And that's it, enough said,
that's all you said. Farvar Rodgers and your pick with Jordan.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
I gotta tell you this interview. Yeah, they edited it
a lot. By the way, his name is not Jim Bean.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Okay, it's Green, John Green, John Breen.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
Green Green, like the color.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
I don't think it's no no bream.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Okay, So where you take out of context?
Speaker 4 (32:06):
So where where in particular.
Speaker 6 (32:08):
He asked about the Embrello and I pointed out and
this just goes to show you how newspaper guys stick together. Hm,
I think, I said, I think. I think he left
the newspaper because he was making step up and because
that's what newspaper guys do. If they don't have well,
they just make it up. And I think that's where
John Green kind of said, I'm not going to put
(32:28):
that in the paper. So I mean, so they cut
some stuff out.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Well, there's a lot of stuff here.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Though.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Have you started to name the rooms for packer players
at the bed and breakfast at lunch?
Speaker 6 (32:39):
I can't.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
I can't believe. I can't believe that you actually hadn't
done that. That was a little surprising.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
He gave me two good ideas. The Burrero breakfast burrito.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Yeah, I think we had that at campaign in the restaurant.
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
Is there a sausage in that?
Speaker 6 (32:56):
I don't think so. Yeah, there's little chunks of kill
bossa have you ever heard of?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
And yeah, it's kind of kind of like b Yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:10):
Always in the sick years, I was talking about sex.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
He's not, he's not, he's rarely, rarely time every time
he gets honest, that's it.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
Talks about sex that I will say. It's because of that.
You know there's guys who talk about stuff, and then
you know there's guys who that are about stuff.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
That's what you're saying that.
Speaker 6 (33:40):
People want to talk about.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
How is Randy speaking of that?
Speaker 6 (33:44):
Randy Ray's got no times in the area when you
really think about it. He's not real good looking, he's
not very smart, he doesn't have a lot of money,
but he does pretty good. But that again is Weston,
Wisconsin and it's not my choice for women either.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
So you learned that with Packerfanconnections dot com.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
Probably, huh, Well, I don't have to worry about that
anymore because he sold it.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
So what players who?
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Who's going to make the cut for naming rooms at
the bed and Breakfast and lunch?
Speaker 4 (34:16):
The rooms are going to be named after who?
Speaker 6 (34:19):
Right now? Is the Star room?
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (34:22):
There's a ring room, There's a Reggie White room. There's
the best five room.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Careful in there? Come on? Is there a hot tub
in that room?
Speaker 6 (34:37):
Yeah? A hot tub?
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Yeah? Come I down.
Speaker 6 (34:43):
He's a great What are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Maybe you should google him? Maybe maybe you should? Is
uh is Earl was Nowski? Who's your guy? Your historian
was NICKI? Is he still? Maybe you should? Maybe you
should get the refresher on Chewy before you name a room.
Speaker 6 (34:57):
Ever I know about I was a big backup band
in that time. That's like I said in the newspaper.
They make stuff up sometimes.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
I don't think that was made up, Sharper.
Speaker 6 (35:09):
Hold on was the last time I wontever check? Fact check? Meatball?
What do you mean right?
Speaker 4 (35:15):
He can Corey Cove every day? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:18):
His whole life is fact checked. Yeah by Kattie Cove
every day.
Speaker 6 (35:22):
Okay, what's that? Guys, I've heard that show? You know
he pretends to be the smartst guy on that show.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
He's pretty smart, first of all, low bar.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
The second of all, he's he's just kind of he's
kind of hoity toy. He thinks he knows everything.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
Maybe he does, Yeah, maybe he does.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
He knows a couple of those TV shows you recommenced.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
That, well, he watches too much TV on that will agree.
But I think you should bring the Initials game over
to the bed and Breakfast. I think the uh, the
guests would like that. Earl could be the moderator. I
think that'd be a fun night.
Speaker 6 (36:03):
You isn't That'd be kind of fun.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
People seem to like it. Yeah, I think it'd be fun.
Is earlier brother that makes adult films.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
My brother is in the entertainment industry. That's many different
kinds of films and not necessarily what you seem to
think he does the time. Brian Gerschmidt, you could look
him up on IMDb.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Okay, anything else from the Q and A that you
you want to correct or because this is it is funny.
It's kuy Perris leaves Minnesota and Carl Gertschmidt most read.
I'm sure a lot of people are listening because of
this that maybe didn't listen to the show before.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
Probably, yeah, they probably said it Friday.
Speaker 6 (36:46):
I'm hoping that. I was kind of hoping now that that,
you know, but I know it's the newspaper, right, but
I was kind of hoping that'd be a lot and
maybe because I get I go get a new sponsor,
and then I guess what, Bro doesn't show up. I
know he doesn't even show up. I know he's really jealous.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
I really do jealous to the attention.
Speaker 6 (37:07):
When's the last time someone brought a, you know, an
interview with Tan Burrill.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
It's been a few years.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
No, they had Neil Justin wrote a nice story about
him a few years ago. I thought that was nice
when he was going into the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
A lot of it made up, No, I.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Think most of it was pretty pretty realistic. I think
most of it was pretty spot on. So anything else
we wanted before that's we move on. This was kind
of a puff piece I thought by John Breen wasn't
very hard hitting.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Anything else.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
I think it's green.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
It could it could have been.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
I'm not sure anything else you need to correct before
we move on to maybe some of the games.
Speaker 6 (37:41):
Yeah, I mean he basically he was, He said, yeah,
let me just I just pulled it up on just
happened to have it.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
Well, yeah, hard to believe. Shocking.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Well, my friend told me about it first, buddy of yours. Yeah,
buddy man was looking online and he said, he asked
what should Wisconsin music? Should we should be in concert?
And and he says that I said, there's a lot
of music comes out of Wisconsin. I said, there isn't
(38:11):
a lot of music.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
That was important distinction that's it's like the.
Speaker 6 (38:16):
Boats and then you're on after that.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
I don't think Dahmer started a band.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Have you ever heard of a Wisconsin group called Free
Hot Lunch?
Speaker 4 (38:28):
You should have? You should?
Speaker 3 (38:29):
Are you buy a computer? I have my I think
you would like Free Hot Lunch. I think they're from Madison.
Speaker 6 (38:36):
But I think I like free Hot Lunch. We ain't
gonna do that breakfast and lunch.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
I think you should. So any other players give me
free lunch? Any other players besides tomorrow Nazi Davenport. Is
he going to have a room?
Speaker 7 (38:50):
No?
Speaker 6 (38:51):
We we we decided to kind of have one kind
of If you are a super Pan super fan and
you you understand kind of you go deeper than the
average person. Remember how a few years back we had
to Dell Middleton's.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Brother, Yes, at the museum named one.
Speaker 6 (39:12):
Of the rooms after not after his brother, but after
to down Middleton.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Okay, because we like.
Speaker 6 (39:19):
It's next to the bathroom.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
You only have one bathroom?
Speaker 6 (39:25):
Well, this one that isn't in a more of a
public area.
Speaker 4 (39:29):
Is that the same one?
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Randy uses as kind of the resident assistants?
Speaker 4 (39:36):
All right, how was Christmas? Was there? You were going
to cancel? I was gone, I was out of town
all week. Last week. I heard you were going to
cancel Christmas.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
I got a little emotional after that.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Yeah, that's what it sounded like. You guys are in trouble.
You guys are in trouble. I think, do you wish
you didn't make the playoffs?
Speaker 6 (39:55):
More injuries than anybody else in the National football I mean,
and we're the youngest team in national football, And when
you're young and injured, that's really not a good combination.
Speaker 4 (40:04):
Those sound like excuses.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
When PJ Flex says that, people say he's making excuses,
it sounds like you're making excuses.
Speaker 6 (40:11):
There's a difference. The difference is we all win this
and we end up playoffs and PJ flex is table.
Speaker 4 (40:19):
I don't agree with that. That's not very kind. So
you ended up doing Chris.
Speaker 6 (40:22):
But you get your your you get paid to.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
Say that that's true. I do.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
So you ended up having Christmas cooler heads prevailed. You
didn't let the packers fortune ruin the holidays.
Speaker 6 (40:32):
Brother, after the after the we clinched the playoffs spot
on Christmas Day.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
He lives in Madison.
Speaker 6 (40:42):
Yeah, we have a contingency plan in place in case clinch,
and we did clinch. I don't want to hear back
into the playoffs. You don't back into the place you can, right.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
You guys did I'm not sure you drove anywhere. The
roads weren't very good. I don't think you drove anywhere.
Speaker 6 (40:58):
You're good Wisconsin, I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
Not what I heard.
Speaker 5 (41:01):
Did you make breakfast or breakfast? Did you make broughtworst risotto?
Speaker 6 (41:07):
I had some premate that we're going to use at
our house, and uh so I brought it over. The
only problem was that then clinking in in time because
he's still in California.
Speaker 4 (41:19):
Yeah, but the rest of him is it all?
Speaker 6 (41:23):
Yeah, he came in, he's in. You think he's still
down mass And now my brother Marx.
Speaker 4 (41:28):
Did the office ladies join him?
Speaker 6 (41:31):
Uh? He had.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
He's very philanthropic, right, but I know that? Oh wow,
I think?
Speaker 6 (41:39):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean I didn't. I went out to
lunch with him, but he didn't bring any of his friends.
He had some.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
People with them, some people with him.
Speaker 6 (41:49):
We had to book a couple of rooms in a
nearby hotel, which is not really a hotel. It's one
of the hotel, but it's nearby.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Did you book it for the night by the hour?
I mean, what was happening there?
Speaker 6 (42:03):
John?
Speaker 4 (42:03):
Come on, wait, Brow, you're getting this share and things
happen show? Did only fans pay for that private plane?
Speaker 6 (42:16):
Why are you just talk? No? What what I can see?
What you call audio? Because this stuff wouldn't be all
out on.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
The radio, that's true. Probably shouldn't podcast it either, all right?
Should we get to the games?
Speaker 3 (42:30):
I don't know who's winning, Dan, Yeah, I honestly, I
to me, the games are are irrelevant because the vikings are.
Speaker 6 (42:38):
I'm not super excited about it.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
I wouldn't think. But let's go to the game of
the week. I mean, this one sets up for NFC supremacy.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
The Seattle Seahawks are on the road favored against the
San Francisco forty nine Ers by two and a half points.
Darnold Ryan Donaldson once again has an opportunity to win
and clinch the top seed on the road in Week eighteen.
Last year not a great performs. I think we all
agree this is going to be better this year Seahawks
and Niners.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
With the Seahawks two and a half point favorites, I
think not.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
I think Donald's kind of regressed back to the guy
that we saw at the end of last season with
the Vikings, and I think San Francisco is playing incredible
football right now, So I will take the forty nine
Ers Meatball.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
There's nobody I want to see fail more in my
life than Brock Purdy, but he's been on fire the
last two games.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
The Seahawks defense.
Speaker 5 (43:25):
Is really, really, really good, and this is an opportunity
for donald to exercise every demon. This is a big
game for him. I would probably take the Niners, though.
In plus one and nine, I'm taking the Niners too.
I think they're going to win straight up. Not that
I don't believe in Donald. I believe in the Niners.
I don't know how you don't believe in Kyle Shanahan anymore.
He just continues to prove it and prove it and
(43:47):
prove it. All their injuries, all their issues. I think
the Niners will win Gerby.
Speaker 6 (43:53):
I have two questions.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Sure.
Speaker 6 (43:54):
Number one, meetball. There's nobody who had this to see
succeed Lesson Brock pretty yeah, in the whole world.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
Yeah, because the guy work with loves him, and because
he loves him, I have to hate him. So that's
kind of the uh, you know, the yo yo game.
Speaker 6 (44:10):
I play that hate somebody.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
No kind of.
Speaker 5 (44:16):
I get paid for my audio on the air in
the morning. Yeah, so I kind of get paid to
dislike him.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
Yeah. Did you have another question?
Speaker 6 (44:22):
Okay, second question is we kind of kicked Dan out
of it because he was the table at this right,
because that's he couldn't have possibly caught up anyway.
Speaker 4 (44:32):
No, I think you won. I think you won. Brett
and I were.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Brett was pretty good for me, Senior producer Brett Blake Moore,
he have pretty stress.
Speaker 4 (44:39):
He's yeah, thank you, he appreciated clearly.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
I still think he should have brought his gal over
to the Bed and Breakfast to lunch, but he hasn't
taken you up on.
Speaker 6 (44:47):
That yet, has he as I have a free lunch
certificate waiting.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
For Is there a Jordan Love room that we can
go to?
Speaker 4 (44:54):
Perhaps I can.
Speaker 6 (44:56):
Read, I can change the name.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
Okay, all right, well we'll chat. All right, enough of
thinking about that.
Speaker 6 (45:01):
It's really easier to do. Also, I would just like
to point out I'm pretty sure that John Green was
pimping me trying to get a free lunch at the bit,
but I wouldn't do it, ye buy me Brett.
Speaker 4 (45:13):
Would Brett have to pay for the room, but he'd
get free lunch?
Speaker 6 (45:17):
Sure? Yeah there, all right?
Speaker 4 (45:20):
Who are you picking in the game, Carl.
Speaker 6 (45:22):
Well, Off the top of my head, I would say, like,
Seattle against the spread in the last fifteen games is
like eleven and four.
Speaker 4 (45:32):
Okay, so doing really good?
Speaker 6 (45:33):
Right, That's like, that's pretty good. But the problem is
is that in the last eight games against San Francisco,
Seattle is one and seven. Off the top of my head, yep,
and San Francisco is farm one against the spread last
five games at home. So and you have to think
(45:54):
until Sam Donald proves that he's not doesn't get deer
in the headlights and tell you poof he's not going
to do that. You have to go against him to take.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
San Francisco Ravens are four and a half point favorites
to the Pittsburgh Steelers of Anaheim. Aaron Rodgers trying to
find his way back into the playoffs. They blew it
a week or so ago, right, losing a home game
that would have clinched the division for them, which is unfortunate.
Both of these teams still have a shot here, Doc,
Doc will start with you, Ravens Steelers.
Speaker 2 (46:22):
I am under the assumption that Lamar Jackson is playing
in this game, so I.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
Before he gets traded to the Vikings, before.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
He becomes our quarterback in the offseason, and I think
Lamar's got something to prove.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
Yeah, he's coming here, Carl. You're never going to see
Lamar Jackson coming.
Speaker 6 (46:38):
Playing time with Joe Burrow.
Speaker 4 (46:40):
There, good points, good question, good question, training camp competition.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
We'll let him compete, But I'm gonna go with the Ravens.
Speaker 6 (46:48):
You guys, there's no wonder way don't win the Super Bowl.
Your fans have no idea what what's gone on the
national football.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
And Rogers has washed up. Rogers has washed up. He's
got nothing left ball.
Speaker 5 (47:00):
The only hotter player in football than Brock Purty is
Derrick Henry, and they will ride Derrick Henry to an
AFC North championship.
Speaker 4 (47:08):
The Ravens and the points.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
I think you're right. Here's the butterfly effect. Ravens win,
Lamar stays, Tomlin leaves, Rogers done. Brian Flores the new
head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, which I would hate
to see.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
Because he's a stud, because he's really good.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
The next coach at Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Because his defense is good, Joe Hafley. They had a
trade for Micah Parsons. That's how desperate they were to
get anything defensively there. Ravens win and cover Gerby.
Speaker 6 (47:41):
It's a tough one. I am very much stung by
Derrick Henry, and I don't that is that is he
is very good. Uh and but the town here is
in the last time as Pittsburgh Baltimore is two f
(48:02):
five against.
Speaker 4 (48:02):
The spread off the top of it, yes, I was
a game.
Speaker 6 (48:05):
It's like a one point game either way. What's the spread?
Speaker 4 (48:08):
Four and a half. Ravens are favored, then you have.
Speaker 6 (48:13):
To take pittsu because it's gonna be closer. Than that.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
And then this is the kind of game.
Speaker 6 (48:18):
These games are always close and so and you figure
if what Rogers loses, it's like his last game. Probably
unless he comes back and plays for you next year.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
That's a possibility.
Speaker 6 (48:30):
Yeah, that's a good possibility.
Speaker 4 (48:32):
That worked great for fire was pretty good.
Speaker 6 (48:35):
Yeah, no, that's fine. But I'll take I'll take Pittsburgh.
Speaker 4 (48:38):
And then the big one.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Hard to believe this one wasn't flex to Sunday night
football Vikings and Packers for nothing, literally nothing, But you
can hear it right here on the fan.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
That should be exciting.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
What times your pregame hit sauce with Hawk ten on
Sunday A right, I look forward to that. The Purple
are favored by nine and a half points over the
Green Bay Packers, and a.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Half is the nine and a half they're starting Clayton
as Vegas is so smart these days.
Speaker 3 (49:06):
Be honest with you, didn't You had no idea who
Clayton Tune was. You still don't know who Clayton Tune is.
There's not a Clayton Tuon room at the Breton Breakfast
and Lunch.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
It's not a real person, right, only because.
Speaker 6 (49:19):
I doubt that future.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Only because it'll drop the Vikings like three or four
slots in the first round and doesn't really matter this
quas he will probably whiff regardless, the Vikings will run
away with it.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
Yeah, the Vikings culture will be on full display here.
The locker room speech will be one for the ages
after they run up and down. JJ McCarthy will get
not one, but two game balls if he finishes the game.
So maybe Brozemberg gets one too. I don't know. But
the Vikings unfortunately will win this game by a couple
of touchdowns and end up picking like twenty ninth in
(49:57):
the NFL draft this year.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
Sauce.
Speaker 5 (49:59):
Yeah, Vikings will win by twenty The Packers rightfully so
aren't going to play anybody. Clayton Tune's terrible, or it
would be a better option than Clayton Tune. The Vikings
will win and just a boat race Gerby.
Speaker 6 (50:15):
Test me when I say this, and this might be
the only time you ever hear me say this. I
don't care what happens. We lost the biggest hurt as
as the biggest hurt you know, and we'll get hurt.
Don't play anybody who's even slightly hurt. Don't play anybody
who think might get hurt. Just just to be honest,
can we just like what do you call it in
(50:38):
the legal profession? And when you stip aly can we
just stipulate the game happened.
Speaker 4 (50:43):
I'm not Mark, just not.
Speaker 6 (50:44):
Waste a lot of time. Honestly, I was thinking of
going this game, so I looked up to how to
get tickets. Yeah, it's like they're almost like free. It's
almost like, hey, just take what out? How much will
you give me for this?
Speaker 4 (50:57):
Come on over?
Speaker 6 (50:58):
I mean, and this is like forty line stuff. I like,
it's like fifteen bucks. I mean, it's like, that's beautiful.
Speaker 4 (51:05):
Study it cares.
Speaker 6 (51:07):
This is one of those ones where nobody cares. Now,
should I do something historical? I pick Messa over Green Bay? No,
I won't do that. Green Bay is gonna. I don't
care if we win, but wear a cover we'll cover.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Happy New Year, Car, I don't care. Congratulations, Hey on
your new newfound fame. I hope that gets some good
publicity for the bed and breakfast and lunch.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
And we're now booking into February.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
Wow, maybe just in time for Valentine's Day, Brett. It's
great timing for me.
Speaker 6 (51:39):
Maybe we'll call it a weekend of love in the love.
Maybe I should change for that weekend, change all hands
to Jordan love.
Speaker 3 (51:48):
Yeah, Bretto, what if my wife and I want to
come to the bed breakfast in lunch, bring your own sheets?
Speaker 6 (51:57):
You can? Are you booking? Is there for?
Speaker 7 (52:00):
You? Know?
Speaker 6 (52:01):
You gonta leave you kid at home?
Speaker 4 (52:03):
No babies, yeah, we won't bring him, no babies, babies? Yeah,
all right, this has gone completely off.
Speaker 6 (52:09):
Whatever happens happens. And you, guys, all you do is
talk about sex.
Speaker 7 (52:15):
Well.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
I think you've enjoyed hearing your guys' voices. I think
it's great to talk to Carl.
Speaker 3 (52:19):
I think that was nice. He does love Louis, Yeah,
he does Louis. Okay, Yeah, you got any cake left
over from his party? I wish he would have brought him.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
Man.
Speaker 5 (52:27):
I threw the rest of it away, but it was
outstanding cake. All right, good, great to see you, doc.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Likewise, this is fun.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
Thanks for coming in on a Todd Tuesday on a Friday.
And we'll see you guys soon. Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (52:41):
That is Todd Tuesday on a Friday with Carl gerb Schmidt,
who thinks all we talk about is sex. Never thought
I'd say that on Bumper to Bumper with Dan Barrero.
But here we are in twenty twenty six, the Year
of Art.
