months older than mine. But like the personality that happens,

months ago, I was just a guy that cleaned up
green poop. You know and like picked him up and
fed him and all that. Now he like knows who
I am. And it's fantastic. Yea, Like he'll reach for
me when when my wife has him. It's the best.

The Push President is the most Todd Tuesday thing of
all time. It was a Todd Tuesday gift. It was
a fine leather bag that you would get it.

How have you handled the Viking season this year? I

How do you feel about the job, Quazy, I wish

To be honest with you, I don't know if he
deserves this job anymore in my opinion, but he's going
to keep the job. I'm going to accept that. I'm
liking the way JJ is looking when he's healthy. Yeah,
I think he's turned things around. I don't love the
money that Quaycy spent in the offseason, but his kind
of twenty twenty four free agent classes what's carrying. I

think his kind of legacy so far in Minnesota drafting,
not so much. Free agency. This past year was a
little bit of a miss, but things are Things are
clicking a little bit. Dallas Turner's looking good, JJ's looking
good and Will recherd can't.

Miss the Ryan Kelly money is what's gonna Yeah, that's
what hurts. Still cut him though, right a lot. At

play it anymore.

So, saus, how do you feel about if the Vikings
win this season or win this game Saturday, and they
should because Green Bay is playing nobody?

I think that goes to the coaching. I really think

you know I'm captain negative when it comes to the Gophers.
A kid who probably won't be on an NFL roster
next season in Brosber, a kid in JJ McCarthy who
is fine so far, and the version of Wentz. That

Basically he was just wrecked from the start, right, And
as I think it was Florio who had was on
with Pa earlier talking about how you brought.

training camp.

You brought him in the labor day weekend, right, so
like you knew you needed somebody.

I think that the one thing that they're going to
look back on is like it all changes, Right, It's
the butterfly effect that Corey cob always talks about. Right,
but like you win that Chicago game, you don't give
up that kick return in that Chicago game. Who knows
what happens if coming off the momentum he had from
the first game, if McCarthy plays, No, he played against

the Falcons and they were terrible.

But you know he needed.

What happens if he gets the boost that Wentz got
playing that hideous, hideous Cincinnati defense. Now, when it all
boils down to at the end of the season, I
think they're gonna have to take a long look at
the options that might be available. If a Baker Mayfield
who might be available. Everybody keeps springing up Lamar Jackson, Nope,
you have to look though at because you can't guarantee

JJ McCarthy will be the starting quarterback next year week one,
because you just you can't rely on him. He's always
hurt and the good games he's had are against historically
bad defenses. I don't want the kid to fail, but
he was great against Washington. I mean, they're playing in
half speed and the Cowboys defense is historically and hideously bad.

(08:50):
So they'll take a long look. Winning this game on
Sunday with him doesn't matter. They're starting backups and backups.
If he goes out and throws for four forty and
four touchdowns, they know it. In the big picture, it
doesn't really matter to look great on paper. They'll celebrate
the victory, but it's gonna be an interesting off season
with that quarterback room.

if for me in this season is what if Kevin

we went to multiple colleges and never graduated.

What if and you went to Arizona so you're in
on this too, That's why you're here.

I have a diploma, that's right.

What if KOC made JJ McCarty take the prerequisite courses
and didn't audit those and say, hey, you're ready for
Koc quarterback college the three hundred level. Yeah, because the
stuff that he's doing now and you mentioned a doc
like playing okay, right when HEELTI like, at least completing
passes to open receivers, which is what we were for
a while, wasn't happening.

Right, J toned it down and it's working out a
little bit.

Yes, which is what the building block should have been
that second game against Atlanta any other time and he
comes back. But I just remember when they were overseas
and the nightmares trip for all of them, and they're
talking about the things that he's working on JJ in October.

Like bass and ball and balance and body and Brozemer
and approachable and neurological stuff reads. It's like bro it's October,
Like Micah Parsons is about to be on him right,

And they've started to do that, and he's actually been functional.

What if they did that this whole summer and this
whole offseason and instead of because what Koc likes doing
he did it with Dobbs the past or not. I'll

was running all over the place and doing the cool

him Matt Stafford. Had they just done that, I think
the Vikings Grease ought a couple of more wins, and
I think JJ's probably further along. Now we don't know
about the injuries, but I think he's further along. That
to me is the biggest regret of the season. Yeah,
I think you're correct.

I think the other thing, though, when you look back
at it, you go through every game and you look
at the what ifs and the butts and all that
of the season is when we saw him in that
fourth quarter against Chicago and that Monday night football game electric.
That's probably the most excited I've been for a Minnesota
Vikings post game and the euphoria that it was when

Moss caught those two touchdowns against Tampa ninety eight, because
he was just a wagon and he was unstoppable. And
you're like, Kelly and I went back and watched that
game again. That's how electric that fourth quarter was. They
were dead. He throws the interception and they're dead, and
he leads them back on the road in his first
start on Monday night football, and you're going, we got

something here. This kid, like Charlie Sheen said, he has
tiger blood. Man, this kid is unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
And then he goes out and he looks like Charlie
Brown trying to kick a field goal?

Speaker 4 (15:19):
What else is? And it's hideous? Right?

Speaker 5 (15:21):
But you got to think, though, like where was that
magic run? I know you can't put him in the
same scenario, but run that stuff. Let him play with
reckless abandon like he did in those last twelve minutes
of that game.

All season.

Now, as we're learning this Atlanta defense is outstanding, It's
a tough way to go against that team in your
second game. But yeah, no, I'm with you. Why didn't
we just dumb it down and run normandale classes for
him right when he got there?

Yeah, he needs to go out and play backyard football.
And what he's proved in that first Chicago game was
like everyone agreed, like, JJ McCarthy's got that clutch gene. Yeah,
he's got that winning mentalities one everywhere he's gone at
all levels. And it didn't seem like he was able
to ever get that back. Like it seemed like he
was overthinking everything, like you said, because he was playing,

you know, the KOC offense within that offense, trying to
think too much, and and then he went down the
whole nine rabbit hole, and and then he became one
of the more popular internet memes of that. Still, it's amazing.
That meme is gonna lie forever. And Yeah, I think
he's definitely regretted that. And luckily I don't think he
refers to himself as nine anymore.

I don't think he regrets it. That's you can tell
Chaos does not have a lot of time for all
that stuff. He's not, and honestly.

Right, Well, when you're grittying on your way into the
end zone, even though the head coaches told you don't
do it like Forest, don't encourage it. That doesn't like
most of us are like Bro, I wouldn't do that

can't do that other people that other people do.

But I also think, though we talked about it off
the year, if you're Jaden Daniels coming off that season,
do it right. If you led your team to the
NFC Championship game in your first year, gritty away, But.

A functional offense, don't do it after you're told not
to do it.

for JJ McCarthy to be playing on Sunday, like the
fact that he's healthy enough to go out there and
have a full practice this week and just to get
one last look at him before the offseason starts like
this is gonna be a job audition for him, whether
it's just through his play or you know, the way
he's listening to the coach, or if he's gonna not

gritty into the end zone like after KOs tell him
it's all the above, Like all those levels that he's
kind of you know, left us if he on as
fans or as people watching the game. I think that
this is gonna hopefully be something that we get a
little more clarity on.

up his Rube buddy, who always watches the Wolves more

And he watches the Wolves more than anybody. And we
still call we always called him. His last name is Maslow.
We've always called him Maz, but Matt. We pulled him
up in SU's original Maz and so now he goes
by Maz half the time when we all refer to him,
thanks to meet.

So okay, so how's Oz feeling about the Wolves right now?

He's a little down right now.

Yeah, he kind of things And I agree with him that,
like if if the players and Ant can't, like you know,
kind of figure things out here, it might need to
be a change of leadership at the top. I have
to say, like you love Finch, like I love Finch
the job he's done, but you can't allow a player
like Ant to to to go off the rails like that,
Like you have to have a coach who's who's either

going to drive the fear into that player to never
leave the court like that or storm off the court
and like be immature and like express himself in that way,
or you can just have to make sure that he's
going to figure it out going forward. And and I
love the job that Finch does. From an x's and
no standpoint, I think he's a good coach. I think
he's the best coach we've had here in a long
long time, probably since Flip Yep and h. But you

can't let your star player get away with walking off
the court. And it's just it's it's embarrassing, it's it's
not it's not acceptable.

Watching the Minnesota Timberwolves is a real conundrum because sometimes
it's the highest form of ecstasy the world has to offer,
and other times it feels like you're dying ten thousand
unique concurrent deaths. Well said, I think that's spot on
within the same game, and New Year's Eve was one
of the ten thousand where here's the problem, because you're
right about Aunt, he can't do that. However, However, ant's

like problem nine to ten and eleven on this team, right, right,
And I can watch a game in the first quarter
and I can say, well, Julius doesn't have it tonight.

He's not interested. And I like Julius. It seems like
a good dude.

Yes, he was awesome in the playoffs last year, obviously,
and funny that's why they were really good, right, because
he dominated the Lakers series. He was great against Golden State,
wasn't very good against Okay, see guess what nobody was.
And then those same nights, like I can watch Nas
when he comes off the bench up there's a lazy turnover.
Nas doesn't have it tonight. It's like those guys are

important too. And like I think especially the Julius thing,
because I'm gonna be curious where that goes. Because Finchy
loves Julius. Never holds Julius accountable right for anything, Like
he doesn't have to come to company meetings. No, right,
he doesn't get the call from you know, Abbot saying
where are you? Yeah, like he gets to do whatever.
And so that's what I'm going I'm interested where that

goes because Julius when he's good is outstanding. Now is
when he's good is outstanding, but it's like there's so
much variable or variation with those guys, and I think
that bothers some of the other guys.

Yeah, I think you got to get a coach that's
gonna hold everybody accountable. And if I don't, I don't
want to move on from Finchy. I love Finchy, but
he's got to change his ways to the point where
you're gonna get these players to kind of, you know,
grow up a little bit, and they need to be
held accountable.

like that, whether it's you know, Trey Young and I
don't know anything, but you gotta you need a point
guard to take the pressure off of Ant. I think

and he sees what you see where it's like, Okay,
I'm gonna put up thirty and you're gonna lazily shoot
