Speaker 1 (00:00):
Humid.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Just in case you missed it, it's the top five
S Force taggers of the day. Now it's time for
Dan Barrero's Top five and five, brought to you by
Gutter Helmet of Minnesota, never clean your gutters again. Learn
more at gutter Helmet mn dot com.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Pat Kestler in the house. You will join us about
eight minutes from now. Let's get to the top five
and five.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Time now for the obligatory Kevin Fallness Minnesota wild mention.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Now, Kevin doesn't really have room to be mad today
because we opened the show, yeah with wild talk and
how great we are and we're the skate triots and
we're going all the way.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
By the way it's now, I don't even think it's obligatory.
I think it's mandatory. Yeah, the way to start playing,
to recut it, it's not even an obligatory one. It's
mandatory because of how they're playing. All we do is
whim five seconds agoing to powerplace.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
She was, what what got?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
It's a power playing.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
You mentioned.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Hughes set it up among Tarasenko, finding form we haven't
seen since Saint Louis. Some amazing plays. Hughes is unbelievable.
And this team is as exciting as.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
I can remember. Uh superstar factor.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I mean, you have a top three forward and a
top two defenseman in hockey.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Yeah, and the top goal they played together. They're having
the power play together.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Unbelievable. The power play looks ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
It's insane. I mentioned it in the open of the show.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
First power play of the night, the Wild had the
puck for the first ninety seconds. And I don't think
that's hyperbole. I think that's pretty much straight up, straight on.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Quinny Hughes is as advertised for a casual for a
guy who's not watching the all twelve of the Canucks.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
I was amazed. I was amazed at how he controls everything.
It's like having another forward.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, it's like having a forward that also plays defense
and also runs point on like everything. And the goal
that you just played, I know, Carilla gets it. Hughes
got the assist on it. He should get like three
assists on it because he did everything. He kept it
at the line, he shoveled around the line, and he
fired the shot at the perfect time. Almost broke Eric
Sinex ribs with the shot, but he probably even knew
if I go here, he's gonna it's gonna hit the pad,

(02:16):
no problem, calculated. Yeah, it's all. Nothing is accidental. There
are no coincidences with Quinn Hughes.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
It was.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Last night, I said it. I was at the game.
Oh good for me. I can't go full playoff atmosphere
pretty damn close. And on Tuesday, December sixteenth, they have
a vibe in that building like that, it's only going
to go up from here.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
It was.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
He's it's awesome. That's all I can say. It's awesome. Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Yeah, the Wild skate out to five nothing win over
the Capitals. Typically ov is good for like a hat
trick every time he comes to Minnesota. Yeah, not so much.
This year they played the Blue Jackets in Columbus. So
that's tomorrow at six.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
My nine year old who I went to the game with,
did I say this on the air. He didn't believe
me that Alex Koatskin was the leader, the all time
leader in goals because he watched the game. And I mean,
ovii's what fifty two years old now and his best
days are probably behind him. He's grey, and yeah, as
he should be. He's old and he's been around forever.

(03:16):
But he definitely questioned my hockey bona fides when I
was pumping his tires and telling him, look, this is
this guy just broke Wayne Gretzky's record. He's one of
the all time greats. On that first power play, said
watch this, he's going right here. They're going to try
to get it to him on the left circle. He's
going to try to fire a one timer. It's crazy.
I was mocked and ridiculed Brett like fifteen years ago
after the Wild got Ovechkin on a couple of power plays.

(03:41):
The basketball guy and me said, why aren't they doing
like a tryangle like a box and one on the
power play for Ovechkin and just not letting him shoot,
Like just get a guy over there and then do
a little triangle on the other side and just deal
with them that way. That has happened, by the way,
You're right, yeah, And that's why you know how common
always talking about the Sam Mitchell just and I Michael
Jordan the ball. This is because and got mocked and

(04:03):
ridiculed for it. I was mocked and ridiculed by guys
like Tennabee when I said, why wouldn't they just do that. Yeah,
I don't get it. Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're just
gonna put a guy over there. Well guess what they did.
That's what they started to do, because why would why
would you let him just sit in the spot that
he wants to and beat you. And I know they

(04:24):
had other good players at the time at the time,
but just I'm not letting no, especially if it's like
a close game and it's the third period.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Why am I just gonna let them do what they
want to do.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
I was mocked, I was ridiculed, and funny, a couple
of years later, the NHL finally caught on.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
You had the esosteric approach to killing penalties. Some people
just understand the game exactly. Some people just understand sports.
I do want to talk Wolves before we get to
Pat Kessler. They haven't played since Sunday. They beat the
Kings one seventeen, one oh three. They get the Grizzlies
at home. That's today at seven. We'll be out at
six thirty. I do have a bone to pick with
the Wolves. I don't know if we have time. I

(04:58):
don't think it's the Wolves. I think it's the end.
I have been trying for Christmas, my gal's been trying.
I love the throwback black uniforms, the trees. You love
the trees. I think they're unbelievable. I think you're how
they have not brought them back earlier. They're fantastic. I've
been trying to get a choir and Anthony Edwards jersey

(05:20):
of the trees, not the old school Kevin Garnett one,
the current one that they're wearing right now, the trees
Anthony Edwards. That should be a walk in the park.
I shouldn't be able to walk two feet in Target
Center and not see one of those.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I can't find one.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
I've been in Target Center, I've been online, I've been
at NBA dot Com.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I went to the NBA store at Mall of America.
I've been everywhere. It's impossible to find.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
If I want to get a Coroka price off jersey
of any variety, I could easily right now in two seconds.
What's the NBA doing and we're not a big league
here that they can't manufacture a little more jerseys here?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
What's the problem I want? I wonder. I want to
know to the brat Shawn Brian Campan text lines to
for six eighty six if this is user air by
you or if other people are having this same issue,
because I agree with you, that sounds preposterous that that
would be an issue. But you said, and you just
drove two and a half hours to take a picture
with a guy that looks like you. You are committed
one way?

Speaker 5 (06:15):
One way?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
You drove five hours round trip on Saturday when it
was freezing cold. Yes, and you had to be back
for Sunday sermons the next day and packer preview. That's right,
an hour earlier, eight o'clock. So are people having this issue?
Do you have any suggestions for Brett? If you are
having this issue? There's no urgency, right, like you don't
need it by Christmas.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
It's a gift for you, right, It was gonna just
want it for me, And I do want it because
I think they're sweet. They are, but she literally can't.
And I've been looking to to try to help her.
There is I've looked in everywhere, building in and out
of Target Center.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Is the impossible to find? I maybe going to the
game Friday night, that's an eight thirty we'll see to
Oklahoma City, which might put me, might put me in
a bad place for the weekend.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Because I just don't.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
I just ruggle with it. I struggle with Okay, see
as we all know. So I'll see if I next
Wolves game, if it's in the next few weeks, I'll
take a.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Look for you.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Yeah, but I don't think it's a Wolves problem. I
feel like it's above that. I don't want to see
like I'm ripping the Wolves. I want their jersey. Yeah,
but some somewhere someone's not. We can make a little
more uniforms.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
How's that right?

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Anyway, right, all right, Well, if we can help Brett
find the trees, the Anthony Edwards trees jersey, we will
do that. Anything else you want to get to, Oh no,
we can get to Pat. I've got an NBA thing
I want to get to at the end of the
show that I'm that I'm confused by.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
So we will. We will do that.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
We're here until six thirty tonight and Pat Kessler is
joining us next segment. I've got an interesting exercise I
want to go through with KESSI. We'll see if he's
up for it when we return.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I wish the.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
American media would take a great look at the views
that the people in conference and.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Find out.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Because people have got to know they're not. Their presidents
are crump. But I can't trust Omar.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
He's an air passler.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Tear down the dish wall.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
I did nothing wrong at the Minneapolis airport.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Natter, You're no Jack Kennedy pressler.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
And now to help Dan break down all the tough
questions in politics.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
It's our own.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
He's all man political walk. I feel like a supermodel,
except like Times ten is Channel fours macissor with Dan Morrero.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
On the fan.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Do you endorse throwing wieners?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
That's quite an introduction. I like the new intro to
Pat Kessler, who makes his weekly Wednesday appearance.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Okay, that is funny. I try.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
I never said that.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Well, Ai, you can do something.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
That's the thing.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
We could Ai, Pat Kessler, and it wouldn't be as
good as the real Pat Castle. That was real.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
That was real though, Right? Do you endorse throwing wieners?
Who are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
I'm talking wieners. I don't know it's all about you know,
I don't know how am I supposed to know?

Speaker 5 (09:09):
No? I think I think we were talking about violence
on the field where people throw it was it was
that whiskey bottle.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Oh, you were talking about the Hail Mary. The Hail Mary. Yeah,
because Chuck, not Block, got the hot dogs thrown at
him on Dollar Dog.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, I was at that game. So I was at
that game. Now quit that. Yeah, I was there. I
was sitting I guess third baseline, just off of left field,
where no Block was playing. I was a high school senior.
The Twins had just started to play well, sure with
the the get to know him twins, you know, in
the in the Taca and I remember a couple of

(09:46):
my high school buddies said, hey, it's Dollar Dog nitedt
the Dome. I had never heard of such a thing.
Why not, I said, why wouldn't we go down there?
The Yankees are in town, Twins are playing well. I
did not throw anything. I did not throw Okay, no,
I didn't. Well, if I through it from where we
were sitting, which was upper deck, they'd sign you, well,
it wouldn't have made. It would have hit a patron,
would hit another fan. It wouldn't have hit Chuck Knoblock.

(10:09):
Great to see you, How are you. I'm fantastic. How's
the gift in my life? You should? You know you should?
It's everybody should have my problem. It's it's amazing what
you consider a problem.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
What did you bring? You always come bearing gifts you
didn't have to bring you know, what did you bring me?
You didn't have to tell people this?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Well, you're such a nice, thoughtful guy, and clearly you
have time because what what did you bring here? Well
to you and Brett Blakemore.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
I brought Christmas cookies that my daughter and I baked
together over this last weekend elevision special. Yeah, for baking
with the Kessler, Yeah, crunk Kessler, or just to do
just to have some body, you know, when it's ten
ten below zero and what do you do? I mean,
that's a great time to make cookies, right, Yeah, so

(10:57):
there it is. And I got a whole bunch of
different Some of them are experiment they're they're they're them
are experimental.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Yeah sure, Okay, which ones are the experimental ones?

Speaker 5 (11:06):
The ones with the with the THC and them. I
am feeling a little loopy because I had a couple
of them during the break. There's just the sugar filled
with sugar. Yeah, so good, that's fantastic. Which so they're
a little burned, some of them are a little hard.
But yeah, but I just wanted to wish Brett and

(11:26):
you justin a very merry Christmas from very nice from
my family to you and here. And in this new year,
you know, I'm going to make it a point to
make our relationship better.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
I'm gonna work on our relations I feel like it's
been frayed.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
Yes, very much. Really.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
How about I called you on my way to the
barn last week. You were very surprised when I called you. Yes,
I was leaving, you were on your way. I'm on
the way and people don't know. We usually catch up
for you know, basically two hours.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
When you get here.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Before dance, you can talk. Yeah, more than people know.
I could tell you're very surprised that I called. But
you know, we had to break down the rate bowl.
Well I had it.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
I had it blocked, so I wasn't sure what number
was calling me, but I am. Yeah, So we broke
down the rate bowl. I'm kind of excited you're going.
I am going to the rate Finally you're making a
road trip. I've been waiting for you all the year,
going to Italy. You're going to La with the Vikes.
All I do is road trip. H there were so
many good road trips that you could have gone on. Yeah,
that's true, that's true. So, yes, we are going to

(12:28):
the Rate Bowl, leaving on Christmas Day.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Little odd you know. I've never gone anywhere on Christmas.
It's actually not that bad. Are the bars open on Christmas?

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Depends on where you go if you know the right people,
and you know me, so you do so. Yeah, so
we're heading down there.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
It's going to be fantastic game on the twenty six,
looking forward to will you keep your bull streak of
ditching me alive? Or in this case, I don't even
know if we're going to see each other. There's not
going to be any real time to see it. You're
staying way far away from where I'm saying in Arizona.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I just don't. I'm not going to make a soda social.
I was driving into the show today. Yes, and I
heard you on with Ryan. But he's coming over to
play pickleball.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
So he was invited over. I guess, Yeah, he's coming
over to play. Yeah, you missed the sign up you
missed the sign up sheet.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
We'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yeah, we are moving out of that place before you
get there. We are leaving that place on Christmas. So
pickleball is not an option for you. Ye, so it's
going to be would you come over if we extended
to stay for one more day to this airbnb that
the entire Guardsy family is renting, parents, siblings, all of it.
Hope they're not listing right now. I probably should have
done a spoiler alert. Yeah, I hope they're not listening

(13:39):
right now. I could get a bad text. Hopefully they're
listening to their mom or music and that sure, if
we extended it in an extra day, would you come
over and play pickleball?

Speaker 5 (13:49):
No? Have you played pickleball? No?

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Would you have a drink by the pool?

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yes? Okay, got it?

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Can we try something before we get to your list?

Speaker 5 (14:00):
Oh? Lord, there we go.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
I'm gonna try something here. Well, this peaqued my curiosity.
It was a Wall Street Journal survey, and we can
go to forty two this I will, by the way,
I think we can go to forty two a bit. Okay,
in case we need to, you'll come over and play pickleball?

Speaker 5 (14:15):
All right?

Speaker 3 (14:15):
The Ball Street Journal survey that has gotten some attention.
I don't know if you've seen it, but it's a
quiz do you know how to behave at work? Do
you know how to behave at work? So I'm not
gonna look this up or anything. You know, You're just
gonna quiz me cold. I've got it right here. It says,
take our quiz to test your office etiquette skills. Now

(14:37):
you have not been in an office for a while,
nor has half the population. But go ahead. And you
couldn't really call this an office either yet. But I
get it. I've always said if when all this ends,
none of us are we have never been in an office. No,
we're not quick.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
I wasn't in an office for decades. Same yeah, same.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
I never really even had a job in I never
had a job interview where I had to sit down
and really present myself. You know, why do you want
this job? What are your skills? I showed up as
an intern, which was a very low barrier of entry,
and then just never left. What do What is your
biggest fault?

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Right?

Speaker 3 (15:15):
And the answer is I care too much? Exactly. I
think my biggest work problem is I don't have good
work life balance. I think I cared one much. Yeah,
I'm too much of a perfectionist, and that's really a curse.
I'd really love to give myself a break and not
be so efficient working. Well, I cannot wait to hear this.
So yeah, so if anything happens here and I'd have

(15:36):
to go find like a I don't know how people
do it, especially to leave our industry, and then well
you'll be fired one one day something. Yeah, all the time, exactly.
We're we're one Kessler appearance away from being fired with
some of the things that come out of your mouth.
True enough, so it looks like it's ten questions and
I don't think I can do multiple quizzes, but Bratt,
you can help them.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
If you want.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
You're one Ken Petero. That's true, Ken Peteria. That was
a bad day for you. All right, your phone rings
or vibrates while you are in a business meeting or
on a zoom call.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
What do you do?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Excuse yourself from the meeting, then check your phone silence
and ignore it until the meeting is over to check
your phone, check to see who's texting or calling during
the meeting. People will understand turn your phone off or
switch to do not disturb mode before any business meeting.
What's the proper etiquette? What would Pat Kessler do?

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Last one?

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Turn your phone off, turn your phone off.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
Yeah, okay, absolutely wrong?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
According to the Wall Street Journal, silencing the phone and
waiting until after the meeting to check is the least
disruptive option. If the caller message appears urgent, the next
most polite option is to excuse yourself to deal with it,
they say.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
The correct answer is silence and ignore it until the
meeting is over. Now, you are not in the You
are in the majority. Fifty seven percent of respondents said
what you said absolutely now.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
But here's my concern with the rest of these. Do
what you would actually do and not what you think
the right answer is.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
You know what I would actually do is grab for
the phone frantically, exactly right, sure, and try to turn
down the volume as quickly as I can. All right.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Question number two, Yes, you can keep your camera off
on a zoom call with coworkers if no one asked
for it to be on. True or false?

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
If the host wants to see everyone's face, the host
should say so false, even if it isn't required. It's
a courtesy to others to have your camera on. Be polite.
It depends if you're not camera ready or have distractions
going on behind you. You shouldn't put the camera on.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
Bro.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Lastly, I'm not speaking much, so I don't need to
have the camera on. I will turn it on when
it's my turn to speak.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
Well, maybe I'm wrong about this, but why be on
a zoom meeting if the camera's not on?

Speaker 3 (17:45):
So I would say have the camera you would say correct, wrong, No,
I'm sorry, you got the right one. You said the
camera should be on. Yes, absolutely, you got it right.
So false was the premise. So even if it's not required,
it's a courtesy to others. Absolutely, all right, So you're
one for two.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Dhoe knows who's wearing pants exactly? Seriously. Number three, someone
you want to impress extends their hand, but moments ago
you saw the person wipe their nose with that hand.
What do you do, yuck, don't offer your hand to shake,

(18:22):
Just decline, Say that you have a cold and so
you're not shaking hands right now. Offer a fist bump
or your elbow instead, or shake the person's hand, then
wash your hands at the soonest opportunity, you have.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
No idea where my hands have been.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
I mean, honest to God, the place is said, so
I would I would honestly take the hand and shake it.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
So you say, shake the person's hand at the soonest opportunity.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
The proper answer might be fist bump. However, I would
shake the hand and then all right, here's what let's
see efact, I'm gonna hit click. That is correct, that's right.
You want to be considerate of the other person's feelings.
Declining the hand could offend the fist bumperomo would create awkwardness.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Lying would be obvious. If you're not coughing, sniffling, or
sneezing and insulting to the other person, just try not
to grimace. So put your own personal health in peril.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
I guess what the Wall Street Journal says.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
You're replying to a business associates email. Is it appropriate
to include a smile, thumbs up, heart, or other emoji?
That's inappropriate in a professional message. Use your words that's appropriate.
Emojis help communicate the tone you want to convey. It
depends on how well you know the recipient. Basic emojis
are fine, like the smiley face, but avoid others to

(19:39):
avoid potential misinterpretation.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Zero emojis, So use your words. That's inappropriate in a
professional message. Use your words come on, man, wrong, Oh
stop it.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
It depends on how.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Well you know oji in a business letter, it depends
on how well you know the recipient. Emojis are best
reserved for colleagues or contacts with whom you have, the
kind of relationship you both feel comfortable sometimes being less formal.
Outside of that, they can read as unprofessional or immature.
I would agree with you. I, well, you hope you
know somebody well, But how do they feel I have?

Speaker 5 (20:17):
I do use emojis in business emails. Yeah, like I
know with crying and yes, with our sales laughing, crying
with a lot of our sales team, and then the
crazy one. Yeah, And typically it's like I'm trying to
think of an example of when I used the laughing emoji.
It's typically to let them know that I'm kind of kidding,
even though I'm probably annoyed by something that they're asking

(20:39):
me to do. Like I'm only I get emojis from
you all the time. Yeah, but we are tight, and
I wouldn't call this business like middle finger emojis. They
get a lot of gifts too, Yeah, yeah, and not appropriate.
Your workplace does not have a strict dress code, is
it fine? To wear sneakers, leggings or jeans, as long
as they're styled nicely correct. If the company doesn't forbid it,

(20:59):
anything goes. Society is more casual now anyway.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Even without a strict dress code, avoid items like sneakers, jeans,
flip flops, or leggings in the office in lieu of
ad dress code, it spells out dos and don'ts ask
more senior colleagues or hr what is and isn't acceptable. Lastly,
try to emulate what your boss wears to work. That's
really easy.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
I'm with Secretary Sean Duffy, the of Transportation. Okay, dress
up for riding on an airplane, dress up when you
go to work. I mean it doesn't have to be
a suit and tie, just kind of, you know, dress
up a little bit.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
So, even without a strict dress code, avoid items like sneakers, jeans,
flip flops, or leggings.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
Is what you say, Yes, that is wrong.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Oh stop it. That is not wrong. You're going to
go into the Wall Street Journal, one of our finest
newspapers in media empire about that. In loeu of address
code that spells out dos and don'ts ask more senior
colleagues or HR.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
What is and why do you have to ask? I
agree with you. I think this is okay. Go ahead.
Question six. We've only got about thirty more. Jesus be
so we've got four more? Has the beauty of our
industry though? We can just wear ja? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:05):
There again, we're normal. We would not survive. I dressed
up a little bit, and you look great. You know
I'm dressed up. We would not survive in a normal environment.
There's no doubt about that. You're working from home, there's
no need to dress up for zoom calls with co workers.
Right here, are the answers correct. It would be different
if you were meeting with clients are upper management.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
No.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Things were more permissible during the pandemic, but those days
are over. Dress professionally when hopping on the call. You
can go back to wearing a T shirt afterward. As
the meeting host. If there's a dress code.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
For the call, always dressed professionally doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
I think the correct answer is going to be a
I think.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
The correct answer is going to be ask the meeting host.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
If it's just with your coworkers and you're working from home.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Yeah, he cares.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
If you're wearing it. I'm looking at YouTube right here.
So you're saying dress professionally, yes, when hopping on the call,
what is professional? I mean just wear a shirt and pants,
a nice pants. Kessler says, dress professionally. You are correct,
and eighty four percent of readers got it. Expectations for
video meetings have risen since the days of seeing people
in sweats from their couch. Question seven, those are great

(23:12):
days you want to meet with someone, Should you send
them a calendly with your schedule to book a time?
Is that like a calendar link? I've never been sent
to calendly. Yes, this is the most convenient way to
find a meeting time that works for them. Actually, I
have gotten these before. No, give the recipient a range
of dates and times you're available, then ask what works
best for them. Kind of give a person the option

(23:35):
to book on your scheduling tool, or ask if they
prefer you send them a calendar link or no, ask
the recipient to let you know what time were.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
This is way beyond anything that I've ever done.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, these actually annoyed me when I get the sign
up geniuses or like, hey, everybody, let us know your
availability on these forty two days and I'll come together.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
All you do is send me, shoot me a few
dates and let's see what works. And like I've done
for our dinner that we've never had, I do that
all the.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Time, shuit me a few dates with Rezi's at different restaurants.
So this one doesn't even really apply to us. So
let's just what a should we say? Yes, this is
the most convenient way on So they're supposed to do.
What you do, Give the recipient a range of dates
and times you're available, and ask what works for them.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
All right, let's fly through these last couple.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Here, you're participating in a phone or video call in
an open plan office. The polite way is to apologize
to nearby colleagues in advance. That gives them a chance
to get up or put on headphones during the call.
Keep your voice in the speaker volume low, find a
private area such as a booth to conduct a call,
take the call, apologize to your neighboring coworkers afterward, if you.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Since you were a bit loud.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Okay, this is also easy.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
Have you ever stood next to somebody in the checkout
line on the time every day on speaker phone all
the time on speakers.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Sitting on an airplane, sitting by the gate, that we've
completely lost our minds. Phone, yes, set. And so you
would say, find a private area, such as a booth,
and we have those here, we have an open office.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
But you know, I wish I had done that when
when I went to Italy and I called in, I was,
I was in the Delta lounge and and you did
do that.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
I know the booth that you called Finn. Yeah, I
saw your you left your scarf. I saw it when
I was there later. Yes, that is the correct answer.
Find a private area, all right. Two more. At a
networking event, you'd like a drink or beverage, but also
want to be able to shake hands. You should hold
the item in the hand you don't want to shake
with so your hand shaking hand isn't wet and clammy.

(25:34):
Put your drink down on a table or the floor.
Then shake hands, bump elbows instead of shaking hands. Skip
the drink. You won't have to worry about awkward hand moments. Well,
I know that one's not an option for us. Well,
people think about this all the time, awkward hand moments.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
That's true. Yeah, so you know I I.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Would say, hold number one, don't.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
Drink when you're at a networking Okay, seriously, a networking event.
What are you going to drink? I would just have
a beer because that's nothing.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
What do you mean like two beers? Oh, I'm not
I'm not saying that I'm going to be doing cake stands.
Maybe have a glass of one.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
But I read the room. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Actually a lot of these things I don't drink.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
You're right.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
At a lot of the functions we go to. I
usually don't so to socials. That's a different area. That's
as you know. So you say, skip the drink. Yes,
that's wrong. Hold the item in the hand you don't
want to shake with all right, last one, glad we
were going to forty two. Oh, this is an interesting one.
You can name names on this one if you want to.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Oh, good one.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
A colleague has a body odor problem. The best response
is find a discreet way to tell the person about
the problem directly, without involving others. Report it to human resources,
tell your manager so that the manager can address it.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
You shouldn't say anything. You don't know what's going on
in that person's life. Well, this hits home to come
into kfan right now, you have something you want to
tell me. Should we get it out right now?

Speaker 3 (27:08):
First of all, don't say anything.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Number two, if if you think this is a problem,
go to the manager, let him handle it. What if?

Speaker 5 (27:19):
What if? What if it's heavy cologne as blakemore wares
all the time?

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (27:27):
What if it's that?

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Can you complain about that? That's a body oder? Correct
it is?

Speaker 5 (27:33):
Yes, yeah, so there you go.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Usually if that happens around here, we would just say, hey,
can you lighten up on that? You just yeah, well
that's offensive, is it?

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Yeah? But again it depends on who you labor. You
got to know the people. Yeah, you got to know
the people. So you say you shouldn't say anything.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Well, I wouldn't say anything unless it was really bad,
and then I tell the manager and let them handle you.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
Tell on them absolutely all right, I'm going to say
you shouldn't say anything, and that is wrong. They want
you to address it directly. Find it a screw way
to tell the person about the problem. Yeah, right, okay,
out involving that. That's just great, Like people are going
to do that. That's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
So the end of the survey here the verdicts for
you in office etiquette.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
Tough luck. You need to go back to finishing school.
You are seriously endangering your career.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Do not buy it.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Your poor work manners suggest you lack self awareness. Do
people skills?

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Not buy it?

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Read up or seek professional help before your post story
with that one, I agree with that. Wow, that's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
You need to see professional ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Your career is in peril. That I agree with your
career but is impair.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Again, we're in a we're in a business that's a
lot different from what you just read. You're right, this
is a whole different thing. You're right. I mean, you've
never had a job in your life. I haven't, and
you've got dozens. I know. Think about that.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Yes, how much I work and yet I don't feel
like I have a job exactly.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
That is crazy.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
So that's the way it is, and you're lucky. All right.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
Well, I'm glad your career is over and you don't
have to worry about this. I hear you're working on
a few things. That's what my sources is it. All right,
there's a big address tonight. I believe the President is
speaking tonight.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
We're going to talk about that where a lot of
approval ratings have been thrown out here recently in the
state of Minnesota. We're going to talk about that and
who knows what else when Pat Kessler the segment.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
With him continue.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
If you want chin on what's happening to your favorite
kfan shows, you can. You can make your voice heard
on the Brad Shawn Bryant Kfan text line. So let's
know what you have to say by texting. Your message
is six four six eighty six at six four six
eighty six Stanner Text Message and Data Rate supply.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Segment number two with Pat Kessler guards Ian for Barrero
today speaking to the Kfan Bradshawn Bryant text line six'
four six eight. Six where does one get a copy
Of Getting baked with The. Kesslers kessler brought in some
cookies for me today six p one two guys says
So kessler only brings you cookies because they had burned
some and he didn't want to eat.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
Them how.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Thoughtful and then finally wow From, brian did you guys
throw your cookies? Out Since pat, said you have no
idea where my hands have? Been oh you mean?

Speaker 5 (30:12):
This you have no.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Idea oh stop it where my hands have? Been stop?
It you make it seem so. Dirty another. One the
sad thing IS i had like eight cookies BEFORE i heard.
THAT i think they're about done by the way. Minute
this was my best. Effort they're. Outstanding so they're. Outstanding you,

(30:35):
know someone might be a little, burned but which is
part of the. Charm but they're. Honest, yes they're. Honest Cookies. Minnesota,
question do you need the tupperwaar? Back CAN i keep?
IT i need to bring the tupperwear back to game
on the. Bottom i'll make sure to get it back to.
That oh, yeah my grandmy used to do. That she
would save a luminum. Foil, yes, Yeah i'll make sure

(30:55):
it gets back to the next time we have. Dinner
The president of The United states is giving speech. Tonight
i'm told by you what is this speech about and
what do we. Expect it's always interesting When President trump
gives a. Speech what's going to be different about this
is that this is a, formal Official oval office, address

(31:16):
which gives it a little more. Gravitas this is supposed
to be something a little more. IMPORTANT i haven't checked
to see what networks are carrying, it and if you,
recall many networks did not Carry biden when he did,
it And obama when he did. His but we'll see
what this.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
IS i, think on the one, hand the president is
going to highlight some of the accomplishments of this past.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Year, okay and that so it's like an end of
the year address, Space well it, is but.

Speaker 5 (31:46):
He's in the middle of an affordability, crisis an economic,
crisis things crashing all around, us and so the big
question is will he address some of these enormous issues
facing families this holiday season whose prices have gone, up
not down as he had. Promised and let's see if

(32:06):
he does something with. THAT i know he's Been he's
been promising for weeks, now dangling this thing THAT i
know that a lot of people would like to, see
a rebate. Check he says we've brought in not, millions not,
billions but trillions of dollars in. Tariffs not, true but

(32:26):
he wants to send two thousand dollars rebate checks To.
Americans it may fuel inflation further next, year BUT i
think a lot of people would love to get. That
he's also promised one thousand dollars bonus because Of, doze
your Guy Elon, Musk remember you remember how crazy that.
Was that was just like less Than. America you, know

(32:49):
we're not a year into this, yet, yeah you know.
That SO i think The president is going to try
to take credit for some, things including SOMETHING i wish
he would spend a lot more time talking about it
that they have pretty much shut down the border after
the last few years where hundreds of thousands of people
were coming in every month seemingly, unchecked AND i think

(33:11):
they've shut that.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Down that seems like something he can claim a w.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
On for.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
Sure the economy is not, improving and he's got to
try to get people to believe in some of his economic,
policies which has not happened. Yet so you, know on
the one, hand he's got to do. That he'll claim
that he has ended many. Wars so that's what you're
going to see a year end. Speech see if he

(33:37):
addresses this issue of family struggling at the grocery store
and to pay their healthcare, bills particularly if they start
going up again In.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
January so that is what we're going to look for.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
Tonight as his popularity his approval rating continues to plummet In.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Minnesota, specifically let's talk about his approval numbers as well
as the current governor running for a third, Term Governor Tim.
Walls we'll get To Governor waltz in a. Second, well
what do the? Numbers what are The trump numbers tell
you about what's coming here next? Year AND i think
there's a few more elections coming.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
Up, well both of the numbers are very, interesting Both
President trump And minnesota And Governor walls In. Minnesota these
numbers are coming from our Friend Tom hauser over AT.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Kstp THE kstp.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
Polling is Showing walls tied of the approval ratings roughly
the same approval disapproval forty eight percent forty eight. Percent
trump is underwater forty two percent approval fifty five percent.
Disapproval AND i mentioned those first because they have an
effect on what might happen next. Year If President trump

(34:53):
remains popular unpopular In, minnesota and he has for a,
decade he's never Won, minnesota this could be a terrible
place For Minnesota republicans to be in during these very
very very important elections next year for THE Us senate
and for. Governor So democrats are going to turn out more.

(35:15):
People that's just the. Way it is a lot more
people than they did. Before there is a motivation For,
democrats so that is going to hurt The republicans And
President trump in.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
General, however, However Governor.

Speaker 5 (35:32):
Walls according to these this, polling WHICH i think is
really interesting FROM, kstp That minnesotans believe that the biggest
problem In minnesota or a major problem In, minnesota seventy
nine percent say it's. Fraud, well, yeah it's. Fraud well
we just hired a guy that's going to look into
all that fakes. It don't worry about. It my, GOODNESS

(35:54):
i don't worry about. It, Yeah so seventy nine, percent
that is an incredible. Number with the sense of the president, Higher,
well what is it that that's about as high as
you Can you're probably, RIGHT i, mean you, know fit
seventy percent of people believe that there are aliens who
built the, Pyramids so you, know do we know that they?
DIDN'T i, don't.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
Probably Uh. So What i'm saying is that what it
indicates is that this program fraud issue has broken through
some of it some of it, real some of it.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
Political it has broken through to the, voters AND i
think that is a real challenge and a problem For
Governor walls in the next.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Year it all depends on who you.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
Run So Governor walls is a very solid candidate for The,
democrats and who's going to be running for governor for The.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Republicans, well that's the crucial. Question that's it Because walls
is extremely, vulnerable as he should be on that stuff for,
sure and just the fact that he's been around. Forever
there's a familiar. Term thing is, difficult right because when's
the last time that? Worked, Never it's never happened, here,
never never through the last to try remind, me we
talked about.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
It, well it was no one has ever, tried ever tried, This,
okay so maybe that was the. Distinction that's the. Thing
so for a four year. Term so here's the. Deal
So Governor wallis is doing. It so people are pushing
back against that, anyway they do that with any. Politician
but among all the, candidates he is the one who
is probably most. Qualified he's got all the history behind.

(37:30):
Him but If republicans can find somebody to run against,
him who is credible to all voters in the, state independent,
voters Moderate, democrats.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
People who don't want him to run for a third.
Term then he could have some.

Speaker 5 (37:44):
Trouble who is a really strong candidate right now for
the nomination for The Republican.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Party your, Guy Mike.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
Lindell you gave me a copy of his book at
the state fair a couple of years, ago just another
one of the great gifts that you've given. Me and
do you still have? It i'm sure on my nightstand
it's it is for. Rereading, yeah AND i believe that is.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Signed was? IT i think it's.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
SIGNED i don't even know IF i opened. It so,
Yeah So Mike lindell is there's a chill going through
The Republican party establishment right?

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Now, yeah because he is the true heir of the
mega movement in the state Of.

Speaker 5 (38:23):
Minnesota he is the guy who has stood steadfastly With President,
trump believes that the election was, stolen is losing his,
business losing all his money from, lawsuits and he has
never given up the. Fight and there is a fairly
large chunk Of Minnesota republicans who are.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
In they're in for. It so we'll see what does
fairly large chunk.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Mean, well we don't know the numbers, yet but if
it's thirty percent who are with thirty to forty percent
who are With President trump no matter, what and the
election was, stolen and let's release all let's pardon all
of THE j six. Insurrectionists there are a lot of
people out there who believe, that and believe that The

(39:11):
Republican party establishment has not done enough to make them
feel welcome in the. Party so that's WHO i Think
Mike Mike lindell is appealing. To could be the last
gasp of THE maga movement in the state Of.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Minnesota BUT i am one Who i've always been impressed
with his.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
Persistence, sure somebody who he's always returns a phone, call
he will yell at, you he'll just beat the hell
out of, you but he Is he'll you, know he,
says this is WHO i. Am So i'm very interested
to see how that turns. Out But republicans there are
can he appeal to? Independence probably not Moderate. Democrats, Nay

(39:58):
you've got people out there like the, speaker The Lisa
daymouth And Chris, maddel the, attorney the defense. Attorney there
are some credible people who could bring the fight to.
Walls Can lindell do? IT i don't, know but he
might play a big. Factor let's take a. Pause when
we come.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Back you mentioned the appeal ability Of Mike lindell to
a number of different voting. BLOCKS i want to get
your thoughts on If Michelle tafoya could appeal to those
voting blocks that you talked, about because there's a lot
of smoke and a lot of steam that she is
ready to jump into THE Us senate race here from

(40:37):
the state Of. Minnesota we'll get to that and who
knows what else in our final ten minutes With.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
Kessler after, this.

Speaker 4 (40:51):

that people were kind of telling me that she had
expressed some interest in running for the governor or for
THE Us, senate and that kind of died down over the,
time and now we're beginning to hear this. Again AND
i think That Michelle, tafoya who has never run for public,

(45:35):
office is somebody who would be a FORMIDABLE i agree
with the publican. CANDIDATE i, Agree and they're talking About
senate right now. Now she is a conservative political podcaster
and very very very. Conservative but she's a really interesting
cat because she is somebody who you can't really with

(46:00):
the square peg and you can't really kind of say
who she. Is she IS i would say a pro,
choice Conservative republican and somebody who might surprise you with
some of her ideas and political. Positions so she can't

(46:22):
be easily categorized because she has extensive experience with public,
speaking with how to comport yourself on the, radio unlike. You,
Yeah AND i mean she could be somebody That republicans
could turn to to run for THE Us.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Senate, HONESTLY i think they should. BE i think they
should be because of the things you just. Said, NO

yes about, you and about You Brett, No so let
me wrap a ball around.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
This, so, yeah we haven't seen all of the candidates.
Yet for THE Us.

Speaker 5 (47:29):
Senate there are a number of people that are ready
to jump. In on The democratic, side you Have Peggy,
flanagan the current lieutenant, governor And Angie, craig The democratic.
Congresswoman and we'll see where that. Goes one of them
might drop out and run for something. Else you, know
you never, Know and you know there are people who,
say AND i don't believe it is walls in all

(47:50):
the way Is Tim walls in all the way he says.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
Yay and then there's other people that say, no they're
ready to.

Speaker 5 (47:58):
GO i Mean democrats are ready to go If waltz
decides he doesn't want to do.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
This but lining up behind. Him, yeah but they're not
willing to step out and.

Speaker 5 (48:06):
Go there's a deep. Bench, no they don't have. It
there's a deep bench on the on The democratic, Side
republicans have not been able to put up.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
Anybody AND i want to say one more.

Speaker 5 (48:15):
Thing republicans have not won a state wide office since
two thousand and six with your Guy.

Speaker 3 (48:22):
Polenty And polenty said.

Speaker 5 (48:24):

Tonight right here on the. Fan Ryan burns From Gopher

minutes or, so maybe an, hour and we actually Talked

(49:46):

poll ad in. Town It's Tom, polad WHO i don't
Think i'd ever heard of until, today but now he
is running. Things he is the new poll ad in.
Charge joe no, longer which can't be. Fun right before the, holidays.

Speaker 4 (50:06):
We were asking for no poll ads that are on
The twins and instead instead of selling the, team they
just give us a different poll.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
Up, well we Got tom and Then Pat kessler just
jumped in here as. WELL i got a couple of
TEXTS i want to get to before we are done.
Here but the last THING i want to bring, up
what's it's about THE nba and what's one of the
big criticisms of THE Nba Brett. Blakemore what do we
hear all the time about during the season ABOUT nba?
Games two words load? Management load, management that's one of.

(50:37):
Them but the feeling that guys aren't that, invested they're
not that interesting. Interested we always hear guys don't even.
Try you get The tuesday night At Minneapolis, Cliche tuesday
night In, milwaukee guys aren't, Playing so it.

Speaker 5 (50:51):
Does go into, this and So i'm JUST i have
to laugh that on one, hand we.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Get mad when players aren't trying and they're not playing
hard and they're not playing. Defense and that's one of
the main Criticisms we get it every time we TALK
nba to The Brad Shawn Brian kampe in text one six,
four six eighty, six can't watch.

Speaker 5 (51:12):
It it's.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
Unwatchable the guys don't even, try they don't, care they
don't play any. Defense and then All i'm seeing today
is people ripping The knicks for how they celebrated THE
Nba cup title last night and how they and even
just how they the games were. Covered THE Nba cup
has been. Awesome it's been an awesome addition to the

(51:36):
season because it has increased the competitiveness in. Games that
the whole point, was we hear, you we hear that
sometimes In november And december it's not the most interesting for.
People so what are we gonna. Do we're gonna try
to manufacture something like your sport does, Soccer, Right that
was the whole point is we're gonna do an nd season,
tournament and, yeah we're gonna have to incentivize. TEAMS i

(51:59):
think everybody that won last night for The knicks gets
half a million bucks cats donating his to The Dominican.
Republic he's just donating it to charities. There, uh The
spurs got two hundred thousand for making the. Finals it
just people crack me up that they're saying this, is,
well this isn't even a big. Deal why should anybody
care about? IT i can't believe the players care this
much about. It, well which one is? It do we

(52:21):
want him to try or? Not and, yeah if we have.
To in a perfect, world we wouldn't have had to do.
This BUT i think THESE i think these games have
been awesome in the last three.

Speaker 4 (52:28):
SEASONS i hope you've been ripping like, Articles well it's
the first trophy that The knicks have on IN x
amount of years and, well that's not a trophy in you,
know my, sport in. Soccer do you think they're throwing
a parade for a you, Know English Football League cup
even though it's just a tournament and it's not just
it's not The Premier. League of, course it's a trophy
that's that's acted as valuable currency just as much as

(52:51):
winning the league at well maybe not just as much valuable.
Currency some people celebrate it's something so AND i think
it just comes with time because they've been doing like
a f A cup for hundreds of, years SO i
just think it'll come with.

Speaker 3 (53:04):
Time and it seems so, foreign it literally is. Foreign
BUT i agree with you celebrate. It let's make a.
THING i don't even care to, me it's not even
like in The knicks even said we're not going to
hang a, Banner BUT i don't really care about the
banner one way or the. Other to, me it's. Whatever hang.
On if you The lynx hung A Commissioner cup, banner
they have one At Target. CENTER i think The lakers
hung a banner for their they won the INAUGURAL Nba.

(53:26):
Cup but it just cracks me up that we complain
when they don't, try and then when they do, try
we tell them it's meaningless and this doesn't. Matter, well
that doesn't make any. Sense and it's big names Like
Charles barkley is saying THE Nba cup is. Stupid why
it's something? Different it got people to, watch and if
The Spurs Olklahoma city game was, AWESOME i didn't see

(53:46):
much last night BECAUSE i was at The Wild game
having my life changed By Quinn. Hughes BUT i JUST
i don't know what we. Want SOMETIMES i, THOUGHT i
think the whole concept has been, good and it bugs
me that The wolves has never been able to get
out of group. PLAY i had a couple times where
we should have AND i think The Power trip needs
another trip To vegas to cover THE Nba cup semi
finals and. Finals speak of THINGS i don't. UNDERSTAND i

(54:09):
don't understand this text that we got much earlier in the.
SHOW i opened the show with wild talk because it's
The Vegas Golden knights In minnesota wild in The Western conference,
finals and you're on your own after.

Speaker 5 (54:19):
That that's ALL i.

Speaker 3 (54:20):
Feel AND i know they've got to Play dallas or
they've got to Play, colorado and it's, unfortunate BUT i
got this. Text hate to be a wet, blanket but
he was won't sign an extension and will be gone
in a year and a half in the, wild will
be right back to square. One let's say that. Happens
let's say that, happens WHICH i don't think it's quite
that clean and that. Easy AND i don't know how
long this extension is going to, be if he signs
it or.

Speaker 5 (54:41):
NOT i have no.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
Idea but don't you just love the fact, that even
if it is a year and a half that you
get out of the, guy you have a team president
of hockey ops that, said we're going for. It we're
gonna make a big, swing we're gonna make a big,
deal and we're going to give it our best. Shot
we're not just going to sit and concede everything To
dallas and Colleg. Dolrado we're gonna take a swing if

(55:02):
it's there for, you like that's what you should. Want
history tells us it's not gonna work.

Speaker 5 (55:06):
Out it probably, won't but wouldn't you rather have somebody
that's trying, It and if this weekend was any, indication
it's gonna be a hell of a lot of fun
to watch it however it.

Speaker 3 (55:17):
Works anything else you want to, add you gotta go have.
Fun everybody wolves coming up, later

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
