Remind me next segment before Kessler and after the Top
five at five to get to In fact, we might
even play it if we can. I've heard about the
sound from the pulp from Pope Leo. I've I've seen
the tweets. I haven't heard the sounds good. It's so good.
Let's just say this. My guy Rick Bozic will be
(00:43):
aroused like when he hears it. Yeah, he won't get
enough of it anyway. Top five. I'm kind of intrigued
by that tease. Well, here is a portion of Kevin
O'Connell at his weekly Wednesday news com. You're suggesting he's
been sabanized here is all right? All right, coach, everyone
had the questions about who's going to start at quarterback
(01:03):
when this game started. Great answers did you have about
your quarterbacks?
Speaker 1 (01:07):
After watching both of them play tonight, Well, I still
like both guys.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I think both guys are good players.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I think both guys can help our team, all.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Right, So why do you continue and try to get
me to say somebody that doesn't respect one of them?
I'm not going to so cool to ask them, all right.
So that's one of the most infamous saying. I forgot
about that one. Is it all that dissimilar to what
Kevin O'Connell actually said today, ready to think stand? Is
(01:35):
it as far as you're starting qv for something, Kevin?
Speaker 1 (01:38):
They stand in the same place they did Monday when
I answered that question.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Okay, let's see what Steffort has to say. Practice in
terms of reps means yeah, they're both both can he
get work? Both, can you get reps?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
And very much looking forward to our whole team getting
back out there.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
So quit asking. No, you're right, it is. It's the
closest that he that Koc is gonna come, even in
his zimmerized period. He's not gonna go on the bit. Yeah,
but that in effect he's he's going He said this.
He pretty much said, that's why they should keep asking him,
because I want to see if eventually he'll rise to
(02:19):
the bait. Well, my favorite, you know what, the beauty
of it is he would. He would win over a
bunch of New fans if he did, because you know,
every fans hate the Jackals. They they don't they can't
stand us. So if if, if he's viewed as, come on,
what do you want me to do? I'm not gonna
go down this road, will you? Whatever you're gonna try
to get me to say, I'm not gonna say you're
(02:40):
I'm not gonna work one guy against the other. People
would be shaking of it. Yeah, get them koc The
Jackals are out of control? Am I not right? You're right,
they'd love it. You're right. My favorite, though, is when
you come into that press conference today and everybody wants
to know about the quarterback, right, but nobody wants to ask, right,
(03:00):
and so the veterans, Yeah, the veterans do it, but
somebody starts it off, you know, asking about like Blake Brandell. Yeah,
come on, yes, let's ease into it. Yeah, we don't
need that or a lot of talk to By the
way I tweeted this out, I'm starting to get a
headache and feeling like air sickness or sea sickness hearing
(03:24):
about JJ McCarthy's mechanics I agree. We had another We
had another treatise today about his mechanics and he was
asked about it, and then it gets followed up on
and you know, take us through when you're working with them,
and what are you looking at? And I don't need
to know about JJ McCarthy's mechanics anymore in week seven.
It works against the quarterback. It lent whether he intends
(03:50):
it this way or not, it lends to the impression
or lends the impression that this kid's like twelve, that
that that he really does need to work on these
core issues. The only reason you need to work on
these core issues is if you haven't already established that. Look,
we know he was hurt last year, right, but we've
had him in eighteen optional mini camps, a couple of
(04:14):
required mini camps throughout training camp. Right. You're sending the
wrong message when you're making it sound like now he's
still got to work on a lot of those habits.
As if we've converted him from tight end, he's this
position is new to him. I do not think it
actually helps the JJ rehabilitation, if you want to call
(04:36):
that's what needs to happen. Dodgers win five to one
last night. How did Cato take it? Not well? Not well,
I can't really even read the tweets. There's so many
poop emojis and swear words. So they leave that series
two games to nil to nil, heading back to Los Angeles,
and speaking of two nil leads, that's what we have
(04:59):
in the American le Championship Series as well, with the
Mariners leading Toronto two games to nil and Game three
is tonight seven eight. I want to give some money, Bay,
anything you want add about this? Yes, I was going
to add No, I was actually going to add one
more to your point, We'll save it. Maybe we'll do
it in the before Kessler that that sort of backs
(05:19):
up the point regarding these curious quotes about, like I said,
core values and how we have to you know, low
base and the ball get In fact, didn't I not?
Did I not read a quote about then the ball
spins out of his hands at a certain like a
lot of revolutions. What story was that in? Well, it
(05:40):
was from today's press conference. Yeah, a lot of revolutions. Yeah,
I just I don't understand. I have a headache anyway.
It's like Timberwolves press conference, Bengo, we used to say
it with a lineup and collaboration and all the and
all this stuff. It's a lot like that. It's a
lot of that. Unfortunately, Fan of two men and a
junk truck want to give you a shot to win
bonus bucks. It is our National cash contest. Final keyboard
of the evening is the Posit. Go to k f
(06:01):
a N dot com and enter the keyword deposit Kessler.
Bottom of the hour will maybe give you a little
taste of what the pulp had to say regarding the
baseball playoffs as well. KOC today, where do I begin?
(07:04):
This quote's too long, like a lot of my questions
or allowing what was happening in front of him on
certain plays to subconsciously have him extending some drops or reaching.
With every reach, there has to be an equal and
opposite commitment to come back to balance to be accurate.
Oh my gosh, and he's an accurate passor what I've
(07:26):
learned about him is when he plays with that ideal
bass balance and body position, base balance and body position,
You're going to see the ball come out with a
lot of revolutions and it's going to go where he
wants it to go. It's a lot. I think we're
in trouble. It's a lot, man, It's not Chaos's fault
(07:48):
because he's being asked. Yeah, but it just sounds like
we're starting over or he's so undisciplined that we have
to constantly remind him of what did I say? Body
base and balance? Body base and balance, body base and balance.
I just I continue to say, the power of completions
(08:12):
is what this should be all about. I don't care.
I don't even care if you're balanced or not bound.
I guess the bit would be, well, you you have
a better chance to make accurate passes and then get
completions if you're balanced. But what was the thing about revolutions?
When he does have body base and balance, the ball
comes out with a lot of revolutions. Yeah, which means
he can spin it. In Salisbury speak means he can
(08:36):
spin spin it. It's spin it. It's just remarkable, okayche Yeah,
it's hard not to. For the record, we didn't get
to this on air with the mace. He believes whence
should start on Monday? Did you also see Monday Sunday
at noon? Did you also hear the comment from JJ
(08:58):
either yesterday or today? Would be what did he have?
I'm coming coming along, but I wouldn't. I wouldn't say
my ankle is at one hundred percent. Yeah, I probably
should have pulled that to because both quarterbacks talk today.
But yeah, and when here's I'll say to both of
them and KOC, do not let Brosemer on the field
(09:18):
because you want to talk about body balance and what
was the third one? Body balance? What was he's already forgotten.
It's the alliterative of three bs. Let me find it
because it's worth going back to ideal base balance and
body position. Balance and body balance and body position, base
balance and body You guys better hit the cold tubs.
I'm just telling you because you think it's meeting now,
(09:41):
wait till I mean his name is Brosmer, So it's Brosemer,
base balance and body position. We're going to add a
fourth B and he's never going to get the job back.
Just telling you it would be a pleasant problem to have. Actually,
Then you then you trade JJ for number one next
year maybe right, maybe, and you get a compensatory pick
(10:04):
for Wentz he signs in free agency somewhere. We are
favored in two of our remaining twelve games. I know
we talked about that with Seford. I think yeah, we're
Was it two point two and a half point underdogs
this week or is it one and a half? I
thought it was two and a half and a half
when we talked about it. I haven't looked for free.
I mean again, if he needs the disrespect speech, it's there,
isn't it. Eagles have lost two in a row, they've looked,
(10:25):
they've rarely looked more mortal, and they're on the road
in their favorite Hey guys, hello are we here? I mean,
come on, what do we do? What are we gonna do? Also,
the I don't think it's the main reason to send them,
(10:45):
but you know it'll be a great story angle if
Wentz starts the Wentz you know, revenge to her for sure,
no question to be a significant part. Yep. I don't
even think he wants any part of it, but that
won't stop the Jackals from from perpetual. And the guys
that are there now, I know there's probably a few
from when he was there, certainly the front office, but
it's not like this coach was the one that cut
(11:08):
him right. I don't think it was Siriani. I assume
it was Peterson, the one that moved on from eventually,
where was I, oh, the Pope. I don't know what
the event was, if it was a motorcade, the parade, whatever,
he was standing up in the popo bile, but I mean,
I don't think there was any bubble. I think he
(11:29):
was just out there meeting the people and he's you know,
they're driving slowly, and he's got people all around him,
obviously on either side of them. Let's listen to I
think you can hear first the salutation sent his way,
and then the reaction from the Pope. Remember a confirmed
(11:50):
White Sox fan. And by definition, even if you're the Pope,
if you like the White Sox, you are required to
despise the Crosstown Chicago Verdi though they lost. Yeah, he
(12:12):
made sure. Hey, pal, you can say go Cubs all
you want, but they ain't playing baseball either. It's not
just the White Sox, it ain't playing. If you're the Pope,
are just supposed to rise above that. I think that's
why he's a great pope. Yeah, that he seems more human.
I'm just envisioning him approachable. I'm just envisioning him sitting
(12:32):
down for his morning Italian coffee and him having the
same issue that we have, where he's trying to read
the New York Times, but then he wants to switch
over to the Athletic, and he's got to change his
passwords for his Athletic only yeah, subscription, He's got to
relog into that because he's reading the New York Times,
he's trying to get caught up on things in America,
but then he also wants to read about the baseball
(12:53):
playoffs read Ken Rosenthal in the Athletic, and he's got
to get to it. Is there some rule that does
not allow you to tweet about the Pope because I've
twice tried to post tweets bringing it that SoundBite to
Bozi's attention and it's not showing up. Oh. Interesting. Maybe
it's just a copyright video thing. Oh I didn't think
(13:14):
of that because I pulled it from the White Sox
and they had to get credit to vatic and Media.
I bet you that's what it is. So I'm assuming
it's some type of copyright thing. Wow, interesting that explained,
because it is the first I'm pretty sure I sent
this tweet out the first time, but it ain't going anywhere,
so even the pope's brand has to be protected, of course,
maybe more than anyone. What do you think if we
(13:35):
had to evaluate the pope's base, body and balance, do
you they be pretty good? He's standing up in a
he looked good at that spot. He in a vehicle
and he didn't have anybody like holding on to him. No,
he might be holding onto the roof of the car.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Here.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Yeah, looks pretty good to me. He looked very good.
That's very very true. Davy Brosmer base body position, balance,
wolves and five.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Um, just think if Andy Reid was working with Pat
Mahomes on his mechanics, KOs is over coaching this kid,
his head is going to explode. That just happened. That
can happen sometimes. I'm not saying it is. I'm not
gonna bring you know that accusation forward, But there is
that fine line where you got coach. You know, you
(14:29):
got qbs who are thinking too much. They just said,
I got sensory overload. Man, Let me just go out
and make a couple of plays. Is that okay? Sounds like?
Writes Nick from Saint Paul that the price of Brozemer
bungalows just went up. The Brosmer Bungalows Brownstones, either one
is good. Uh, Tom from Columbia Heights firing back. If
(14:52):
koc has triggered that easily by questions from Zoolgad and Seaffert,
that are the ones every fan wants to know. He
needs to grow some thick her skin. I'd hate to
see him if this season goes pear shape. That's Tom. Well, yeah,
I mean that's always been my comeback. People say, oh,
you know you want to You're always trying to try
to make things difficult. Well, I'll say this again. When
(15:14):
I was a little Danny Barrero before I became a cynic,
and I was rooting as hard as any of you
for your teams. I was rooting for the Chicago teams.
What I wanted as a serious fan watching games, paying attention.
I did not want drivel. I did not want to
be lied to. I was asking some of those same well,
(15:37):
Bobby Douglas, left handed Bears quarterback, what are you doing?
He can't he he doesn't know how to read a defense,
what are you doing? I didn't want somebody to write
just hang in there with them, hanging with Bobby Douglas good.
I wanted reporters to ask the tough questions that I
was asking. And so I think there is something to
(15:59):
that if you're a serious fan, that goes beyond I
just want to jump on it or I want to
raise my fist. It's no, I'm watching. This doesn't look
right now. I'm not just talking about the Viking. It's like,
I know, well, how do you explain this? I want,
I do. I want some effort to hold people's feet
to the fire. So we'll see. There are different kinds
(16:20):
of fans. We've learned that, yeah, or many many years.
For the record, By the way, first Vikings injury report,
I didn't have it during Top five to five. It
was not yet released. It has been now within the
last two minutes. Carson Wentz was a full participant. JJ
McCarthy was listed as limited. Well there you go. There's
your answer. So right there, it's over because if indeed
(16:40):
the head coach means what he said, I've got to
have a full week of practice. This is day one,
right it say technically Wednesday, yep, So we'll see how
that goes. And I did find the quote interesting from JJ.
He didn't make it sound like he was limping badly,
But he basically said it's not I can't I can't
tell you it's one hundred percent game limited, Brian Neil limited,
(17:02):
Donovan Jackson limited. Where's Cashman? Cashman full participant? Okay, Michael
Jurgens full participant, Go ahead, say he's full. Yeah about who?
Well Jurgens, No, you're not gonna okay, you're not gonna
pile on. No, the school is the one I would Yeah.
(17:23):
I don't even feel right about that. He's not even fair. No,
it's not his fault. Who's the other guy? Who was
the guy? Uh, the undrafted free agent who had to
play last week? Yeah? Who was that?
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Is?
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Any from Wisconsin? Yes? Remember his name? Yeah, I'm looking
at the back of his And to your point that
it's not really either, I mean he's been put in
a position that he's not really ready. No, he may
even know he's not ready. I'm not going to give
him like the Matt Kalil treatment. No remember him? Yeah?
Top five pick? Yeah, that's true. All right, let's do
this for a little bit. Late. Kessler is in the house,
(17:56):
lots to get to with him. Questions are already up
pouring into the bratcher on Brian Cafe and text line.
Keep that coming. It's the return for the second week
in a row of the Italian lover Pat Kessler.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I wish the American media would take a great look
at the viewers that the people in conference and find
out are they pro America or anti America at Kussler,
because people have got to know whether or not their
presidents are.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Prompt I can't trust a ball at Kessler. Tear down
the dish wall. I did nothing wrong at the Minneapolis Airport. Senator,
You're no Jack Kennedy. Makssler. And now to help Dan
break down all the tough questions in politics, it's our
own Kssler political walk. I feel like a supermodel, except
(18:48):
like Times ten.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Is channel farce Ma Kessler with Dan Morrero on the fan.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Whistler's back Indeed, questions via the branch on Brian Cafe
in text line that number is six or six eight six?
Are you totally past the withdrawal stage after your trip
to Italy? You know there's a let down after I know,
I I really miss it. Why did we come back?
(19:25):
You know, just like I was going to buy a
part because your wife's got a real job, that's true.
That's got a lot to you do. Yeah, I'm well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Yeah, I mean I remember that the time I was
going to move to Hammel.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
I remember, well, yeah, I still think that was a mistake. Well,
no offense, I.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Could, no, I can. I could still do it, but Italy,
you know, move to Italy. That's the thing. So yeah,
you know, I do miss it. And I was thrilled,
you know, thrilled more than normal to see the Pope
the tweet from the Vatican well done.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Well, like I said, I try to retweet it and did.
It won't go because I must have gotten it at
a place where it's not properly licensed, so it won't
let me. I've met twice and it's not not a period.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
I retweeted it from the from the Vatican, the White
Sox and then the Vatican hat.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
You're so official. Well you know, I'm you know, you
know what, I have a rule follower, you know, just
tell that's in other words in other words, for example, yeah,
you'd be you cooperate fully with what Pete haig Seth
is asking what you're telling me, maybe, but stopping. There's
one thing I want to say about the pope. He
was keeping it real absolutely so.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
If you look at the video from the Vatican and
and he's as as you describe. He's in the popemobile, yes,
going through the crowd Vatican. Yeah, I mean he's a
man of the people going through the crowds at the Vatican.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
When the dude, the smart Alex.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Go come, knowing go come yeah, right, and he like.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
A Chicago It turns to him with his arms up.
Well done. What do you saying? What are you saying?
They lost? Which which pope was attacked? Was it a
stab a stabbing attempt? Well it was remember what he
talking about?
Speaker 3 (21:13):
And that was I think it was John Paul the
second and stabbing was it the stabbing or wast of
his finger?
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah, whatever it was, And maybe it was more than
one attack to me.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
And and and the Pope went to later went to
jail sales and forgave him.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
I mean, think about it. When you're that's the level
you have to think at. If your pope them, that's
the deal. You got to think above and beyond all
the body. You're always teaching jealousies and viciousness that the
rest of us are incapable of rising above.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Yeah, it's true. It's absolutely true. And but the Pope
Leo could not let that pass. You know, he couldn't
ride a buve.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
That was you know, that was well played. Yeah, that
really was what Gardy said. It does. He seems more marchable,
absolutely smiling and laughing. But you pope to seem approachable,
that's the thing. Or isn't he to be up there where?
Speaker 1 (22:12):
No?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
No, no, no. I think you want to pope with
the people. I do believe that. And he's starting to
ramp it up politically too.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
And I have a feeling he's only been there a
few months, but I have a feeling that he's going
to ramp it up politically. And I make everything political,
of course, and he's already started it, turning up and
eat on this immigration stuff in the United States where
people are getting little uncomfortable, and so it's that's.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Going to be something to watch for sure. So Pope
John Paul, the late Pope John Paul was wounded by
a knife wielding priest in nineteen eighty two. Okay, good,
good memory man. A year a knife fielding priest. Yeah,
I don't remember that part, do you? I do not remember? Well?
A year after he was shot in Saint Peter's Square,
(22:59):
so he had ball. Uh. The injury from the stabbing
was kept secret, according to a former in a documentary film,
Really but who is the knife wielding priest? Sounds like
a Dan Brown novel? For God's sake? Well, was this
the pope? Then? Pope John Paul? Not John Paul the second?
Is that correct? Guards? I think?
Speaker 3 (23:21):
So then goes to the jail to forgive him.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
Boy. Well somebody else said he prayed with him too,
and prayed with him. Yeah. Wow, that's magnanimous. Yeah, well
it is.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
I mean, it's it's the that is the teachings of
Jesus right there.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
In your face. Brosemer body base, Pope, missus playoff, Chase.
All right, that's good. That's good. God. We had a
lot of questions. Are you coming in? Uh no, not yet.
They'll they'll be coming here soon.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Because I you know what you race an existential question
similarly that I think of spiritually all the time, since
I have just returned from the Vatican, and the existential question.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Is would I resist?
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Would I be part of the resistance at the Pentagon
because of what has happened.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
I think I already know the answer to that that
go ahead. Maybe maybe you would be a little bit
more subservient than I thought. Oh stop. I saw a
really really.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Tough picture a photo today on social media of all
of the Pentagon correspondents, like they boxed up all of
the stuff on their desks and they're leaving.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Here's my question. In all seriousness, I understand the position
because what they're asking for is is beyond the pale. Yes,
I mean, we all know if anybody is going to
break the law at the Pentagon, it's going to beat Pete.
That's it. He's the news.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
There's no doubt that said, how do you go about?
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Then? Practically? If you can't be in the building, how
do you go about it? Does make the job a
lot harder to do your job right if you are
attempting to report independently on what's happening inside that building.
I know you can make phone calls and so forth,
but it can't be ideal. You know, this is on
a much smaller scale.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Happened to every reporter locally and feeling me where I
have Jesse banned from yeh, Jesse's among them. But where
you do a story that somebody doesn't like and you
have to work out different ways of covering it. I'm
very confident that the political and Pentagon reporters are going
to be doing just fine, from calling from phones outside
(25:40):
the building to inside the building. It's not like they
have been very forthcoming. Although Trump and Hegseeth promised to
be the most transparent administration in US history, particularly at
the Pentagon, they no longer have briefings for reporters. They
don't have underals coming out and saying here's what happened,
(26:03):
Hank Seth in my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't think I am has only had two briefings.
What is this October with reporters.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
That's not counting the one with the generals?
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Uh? And yeah, he had many briefings on signaled cheat
you So what happened?
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Okay? A little cough, Yeah, well you know, did you
come back from Italy with something? See? I came back
from Ireland. I know you something, but I had an excuse.
I kissed the damn b Larning Stone. I I cave
to societal pressures and I kissed the damn thing saying.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
One question about that? Didn't did they know? Did they
dump you upside down on your that's.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
What they did. You did that. I did do that. Yeah,
I did that under pressure from you know, from your
family parents exactly and so and so you were aware
of course that people this. Yeah, well we were told
about that by our driver, that that that afterwards or
well after.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Okay, well I have mad respect for you, yeah for doing.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
All of that. Well I don't know if that's what
caused my illness, but.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
No, I did come back with something. Yeah, a bottle
of wine and some all of it the way.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
You all serious? I have what gifts you get? What
did you give us last week? It was something? It
was a trifle, It was wet wipes.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Yeah, you know, I've learned my lesson when I bring
you gifts, ones that come right from the.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Heart, from your garment, they come from my gallic shaped zucchina.
That's not my fault that there's like reason my fault.
It's the only reason you did it. No, nothing to
do with anything other than just trying to be twelve.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
You know.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
And what did you bring back for me? A cold?
I didn't bring it up your digit Yeah that's true.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
So so no, I I do miss it. And seeing
the book today, I think, you know, kind of stirred
some emotions.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
I'm gonna ask you a question. It's going to get
you in trouble and me in trouble probably, But what
the hell's the difference at this point? Because it comes
from a texture, it doesn't matter, and I have not
read the particular piece, but nevertheless, I think it's a
place to talk about it. This is from six one.
This is mark six one two, Guy Kessler, have you
had a chance to read David Brooks's most recent story
(28:13):
in the Atlantic. He questions why there hasn't been more
of a mass movement against Trump before we move into
what Brooks apparently describes as a true autocracy naughts. I
have not read it.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
I subscribed to Atlantic and I saw it popped up
I think yesterday or the day before, I can't remember what.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
So I have not read it. And so why has
so much been seeded? That's I think the question, Because
there are obviously lots of places where the legislative side
could push back, or could at least occasionally say, well,
well we want to be in here somewhere. Is it
the feeling among certainly Republicans that we got to go
(28:56):
with the tide here, this is the guy. So I
got to ride this thing out. And even I I
even believe there's some Democrats who I don't think have
been as feisty as I thought they might have been.
So how do we explain this? So what is the
resistance supposed to be?
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Should it be from Republicans or should it be from
the Democrats?
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Or should it be from both?
Speaker 3 (29:18):
The one that surprises me the most is Republicans in
the House, in the Senate in Washington, because they are
giving away the power that they have and a separate
branch of government, correct both spending both the power they
have for tariffs, to declare war, to check the president.
(29:42):
That is the one that chalks me more than anything,
because they are worried about losing their jobs. That's pretty
cynical to me, but that's what it appears now. For
the Democrats, they are feckless and they have no idea
how to strategically opposed. Yes, I mean it's been incredible
(30:04):
what they have not done and how they have weekly
opposed President Trump. They've allowed the Republicans to set the
agenda just for this weekend. For example, this No King's Rally,
which is a First Amendment protest right, and it has
been described over and over with not a lot of
(30:27):
pushback as a hate rally funded by hamas what are
you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (30:32):
That's an insult.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
But I think we are in between generations in both parties,
but particularly in the Democratic Party, and I don't think
they have a clue of the Democrats how to fight
back except for the young people.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
So where does it go? I don't know. I cannot
wait to read David Brooks, so no, take a look
at you. I've not read it yet. Where did the
There was a really good text here? Can people here
it is? Yeah? I finally fine. Before we get to this,
I'm going to give you a chance because I don't
want to run out of time. I want to give
you a chance to do the sir wanga backpedal. He
(31:08):
misspelled it, by the way. It's s e r w
A n G. Can you look it up? You look
up that word scr Well, it's it's the player that's
named after a former Viking cornerback. Now, thank you. And
he's gone on to be I think a either an
elected official or but he's in a private life. He's
become very accomplished he was a very bad cornerback for
(31:30):
the Vikings. That's the Sir Wanga backpedal. You are prepared
to backpedal on something that you asserted as recently as
a week ago. What is it? I am?
Speaker 3 (31:39):
And I googled Sirwanga over and over and over again.
I went to word smart, I went to no. I
couldn't find it.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
I thought it was made up African word. You know
what's his name? The first name was Wasswa, last name
was Sirwanda. I know the origins of that.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
So thank you, So yes, I do Sir Wanga on
this because I life flippantly said, I cannot believe this
is going to last very long. I'm shocked that there
is no movement to end this government shutdown. I'm not
going to say both sides are at fault. One side's
(32:16):
at fault a little. I mean President Trump as normal
is saying he wants to negotiate or is negotiating, and
he's not. He's going to punish these people of the
Democrats I heard today. I heard some top leaders suggest
that this is going to last through Thanksgiving. Now, what
is this October fourteen, fifteen, fifteen fifteenth.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
IDEs of October, So that would be how serious does
it get then? By then? I mean, are we talking
like dogs and cats living together? Serious?
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Well, I think it gets very very serious about a
thanks again losing.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Well, how about this strategy. A couple people, a couple
of Democratic insiders, have said written, you should let it happen.
You need to let it happen because if individ, if
people see what they have now lost in black and white,
in concrete, that's the best chance as a strategy, even
(33:14):
if you're sacrifice, you know, you're, you're, you're, you're, you know,
adding to people's misery. That that's the best strategy that
the Democrats could deploy.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
What do you think, Well, that sounds exactly what Donald
Trump wants to do. Also, he says, just let's let
this happen, and I will shut down every democratic city,
every democratic program.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
So but if people aren't getting the beast those program yond, yes,
I really do. That's scar right now. This is a
collective yawn.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Wait till, wait till people the parks are closed, wait
till the air traffic controllers stop coming to work. Uh,
let's wait until the military doesn't get paid, although today
is payday for them. Uh, so let's wait on un
till some of these big things begin to happen. Are
(34:05):
the people actually going to lose their Social Security payments?
Probably not, but the offices will close and you can't
get any help.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Is there going to be what about the health insurance
ramification that.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
That is going to be something? And this I believe
it's not coming from Democrats or Republicans. Kaiser Family Foundation,
the most respected health think tank in the United States,
says that within a few weeks, the healthcare premiums for
most people are going to double. The ones who are
(34:43):
on Obamacare and these health exchanges.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
They have to decide right now.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
If you are watching television, you see that everybody has
to sign up for Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance, all of
that right now. So if you have an eight thousand
dollars premium, it's going to be sixteen thousand dollars according
to the top experts. Now, Republicans in Congress are pooh
pooing this, but I think that's a real, real possibility.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
So what is it going to take.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
I know that the longest in history of the government
shutdown previously was President Trump. I think it was what
was at twenty eighteen and it was thirty five days.
And he's the one who ended it because he saw
all of the the bad ramifications and consequences. So I
think this is going to last a while. And nobody
(35:33):
right now seems to care. They don't care, and the Democrats.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
They haven't let it go because nothing's happened yet. That's
the dissession if it comes upoint where it becomes tangible
about what the check's not in the mail, the check's
not coming, or when it comes to insurance, when it
starts to really hit all. That's the quote, how long
would that take? Yeah, and it's it's not here yet,
but it could be at thirty days. Well, isn't it
(35:58):
fair to say that political speaking, when these sorts of
things happen where people have a well collective youngs not
yon is not the right term. That they don't tend.
They tend to be mad at everybody, regardless of who
you want to blame. The average group tends to just
(36:18):
beat a pox on all of their houses. That there's
that's the other danger of the Democrats overplaying their hand
and saying all right, yeah, okay, let's just let this
stuff elapse. Let's just let this this stuff go and
see what. See what you think when when you're you're
suddenly down twenty two thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Yeah, I do believe they're overplaying their hand on this
in particular. But it's been my experience in the past
that they tend to blame the party in power more.
Now everybody gets blamed because they're people are upos in
all your houses and like, oh my god, I'm so
sick of these people. I am so sick of them.
That's generally what the politicians hear. But in fact, when
(36:57):
it comes to going to the ballot box, it's the
people in power, the Republicans in this case, who get
blamed for it. Democrats got blamed for it when it
happened under Bill Clinton. So yeah, I mean, so that's
generally politically what happens.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
But this ain't good.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
And when and if the Speaker of the House ever
decides to swear in the new Democratic congresswoman who has
just been elected, he has resisted doing that until now
there's going to be a whole other thing happening, and
that is that they're going to release the vote to
release the Epstein files. So you got that in the
(37:35):
mix if he ever calls them back. You've got Republicans
like Marjorie Taylor Green, who is very, very concerned about
what's going to happen with the healthcare and the.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Sact playing ball with She's.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Pretty she really ticked off, and she is going after
the men, the men in the Republican Party who she's
calling weak because they're not standing up for their constituents
and standing up to Trump on this particular issue. So
she believes, and I think it's probably true in general,
(38:10):
that if this healthcare thing keeps going and the and
the premiums do increase, it's going to hit red states.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
That's my point.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Yeah, like hers a lot harder than it's going to
hurt a state with a lot of propped up medical
stuff like Minnesota, a blue state, right, So yeah, this is.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Going to be hard. All right, let's get a break.
We got a lot more to get to with Special
K pat Kesler. We've got a local story regarding the
mayoral race to get to. We'll find out what his
problem is with homes, Homeland Security, gal at the airport,
all there's all kinds of stuff to get to. Will
continue with Special K in just a minute. Here in
the fans. So why are you questioning the policy directive
(39:13):
or videos? I guess they're being offered up at airports,
metropolitan international airports all across the United States of America.
What's the problem, Well.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
I'm questioning why the Minneapolis Saint Paul Airport is not running.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Christy Nomes video, Is that confirmed? That is confirmed? Okay,
we of course we're not. Well, so here's what's going on.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
And you don't have to like it, but you've got
to be impressed because I'd say the Trump administration does
not miss a single opportunity to put the knife in
and twist it a little bit. So Christy Nome, the
Homeland Security Secretary, has recorded videos to be shown at
airports all around the country, and in this video where
(40:00):
people are already stressed out when you're at an airport.
And by the way, we have a beautiful, beautiful airport guards. Ye,
it's absolutely just in the country. It's I love the power.
I go a couple three hours early just to hang out.
I mean, it's great there, check out.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
I get a day passed once a month. Just go around,
start shopping. Can you get a day pass? I want
let the cat if you're if you know people, if
you know people, I would do that. I would hang out.
I totally would. Yeah, because it's I keep asking to
do a show from there. Nobody wants to take me
up on. We'll get it done next year.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Think about all of the sports figures that come through
of the Minneapolis Saint Paul Airport.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
So around the country.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
Christy nom has has asked airports and directed some and
I think that is not too strong a word blaming
the Democrats for the stressed out all the people that
delays at TSA Homeland Security and you can't get your luggage.
So she has recorded a video that's shown on like
when you see ESPN on the airport, and in it
(41:02):
she says, it is TSA's top priority to make sure
you have a pleasant and efficient experience as possible. Why
we keep you safe. This is the Secretary of Homeland
Security Nome. However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the
federal government, so this is their fault, and she wants
every airport to play it well. A number of airports
(41:24):
said whoa, whoa, whoa, Oh hell no on that deal.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
So airports are grounded by the way. These are airports
that generally, depending on what bar you're at, they'll play CNN,
they'll play Fox News, they'll play all this stuff, broadcast stuff.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
I go around to different bars in the airport looking
for the proper game.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
If you know, you know, I've wanted Packer game. Oh god,
it's fun. That's why I'm disappointing you not gonna be
at the Golpher game Friday. Why would I say that?
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Why wouldn't I be so other that there are airports
that are not showing it, and they include like Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix,
Red Phoenix is red?
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Houston read char is not red. Houston's blue. The state is.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
I'm saying, yeah, right right, you can say that this
representative state. I think that's yeah, that's tam wrong on
New York, Charlotte, Cleveland, Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
I mean, so these are not doing Did Biden administration
ever do this? They ever have a directive where we
want a speech in there?
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Well, you know, always when we talk about things that
the Trump administration is doing, you know in my head,
and I don't say this out lots haven't. What if
Joe Biden had done this, people would be running around
so with their hair.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
On fire, The answer to my question is they haven't.
That's the point I'm making correct, That's that we know
of that I recall. I don't recall here, but here's
what I know. They haven't done any of the stuff,
and Trump is like pushing the But here's the problem though,
practically speaking, if you if on your TVs you have
live broadcasts of whatever, how do you practically how do
(42:53):
you even how would that be projected onto these TVs?
You know what I'm saying, I understand programming. Is it
down where the downloaded or something?
Speaker 3 (43:03):
Is it over by where you get the departures and arrivals?
Speaker 2 (43:06):
Would it be?
Speaker 3 (43:07):
I don't know the answer makes because they're not showing
it in the Twin Cities Airport. Here is what they're
they're saying, in the Twin Cities TSA is not airing
the video while the Minnesota Airport's Commission is evaluating this
request under applicable legal requirements.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
I don't know what that means. You're going to evaluate
it for how long? For weeks? For months?
Speaker 3 (43:32):
I would be surprised if the MAC in the Twin
Cities does end up showing it, But I wish they'd
say no, we're not going to show it because it's political.
That's what all of the other airports are doing. But yeah,
so don't miss a chance. You never get a second
chance to take a chance to rip the Democrats.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
Why will you not give the president any credit on
the Middle East Deal? Why are you? Why are you loathed?
Can you not? Why would you say you not give
him a minute? I mean you kill Tom Friedman? Is
you're familiar Tom Friedman, the Saint Louis. Yeah, considered one
of the foremost writers in the Middle East for depth
very much. Soon he flat out said, look, we all
(44:13):
know devil's in the details. This thing could unravel in
some ways. Maybe it already is, but that without him,
without the president, the deal, whatever it was that was
first announced, Well, you don't even get there. So why
why give him at least that much? I'm giving you
what you doing?
Speaker 3 (44:30):
You know?
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Oh? Yeah? No?
Speaker 3 (44:31):
So yeah, I mean, this is a remarkable thing. That
will it last? President Trump did? I think it's extraordinary,
And I don't know if any previous president, well they didn't.
I don't know if any previous president would have been
capable of doing what Trump did, not only to get
the the hostages out, first before a ceasefire, then a ceasefire.
(44:57):
Now there's no peace there, and there's a lot of things,
a lot of things that still need be done. But
I think this is a spectacular achievement by President Trump.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
And he did something.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
He did it away in a way that no one
has done before or even thought of, and that is
he engaged all the other people in the Mid East,
first Saudi Arabia, that was the Turkey. He became friends
with them, did business deals with them, took their airplane,
took their airplane. I mean, and what about that? I mean,
(45:27):
you love that, I know, beautiful plane. And now they're
going to have.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
A military base Katari. Where is That's how welcoming this administration.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
Here's the deal he went for them for others, and
then they were able to put the pressure on them
the Abraham Accords to have commerce.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
I mean, I think it was It's pretty amazing what
he did.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
But here's the butt without taking away any of the
credit for something incredible I think that the Trump administration did.
He says the war is over, but it ain't over.
I mean we see today that already Hamas, which is
just a despicable in my view, organization for the murders
(46:08):
that they've done their.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Execution murdering pop executing people. They were warned out if
it's mattering.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Executing people in the streets. They were supposed to return all.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
The hostages, including the bodies.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
So they returned two more bodies today, but there are
still what eighteen.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
They're claiming Its not as easy as it sounds, right,
and they're probably right about that. But you're telling me
you don't know where they are. I don't buy it.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
And Trump is threatening if they don't disarm to use violence.
I don't know what that means, if that's just a threat.
But this could unravel quickly. But we've gotten to a
really important point in the Mid East right now, and
we all hope that something can come up.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
By the way, people are telling us that the video
that they're asking or demanding be run is on the
monitors above the security line, so it's not these Also
that he'll say thank you for anything and by among
other things. Isn't that a direct violation of the I
think they call it the Hatchet.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Hatch Act, where you can't use government resources.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
To do.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
We'll tell that to Ivanka Trump selling patents to to China.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
I mean, so.
Speaker 3 (47:20):
I'd love to hear from our listeners. Were you at
the airport today, I know we got emmy eight week.
If you're there, you see it. But right now we
are told by the by the Metropolitan Airports Commission that
in fact, uh, this is not running right now. So
that'd be awesome if they could run it. By the TSA,
we have them to scare me a little bit.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
We have a mayoral endorsement. Does it have any impact
on whether your guy Jacob fry is unseated as mayor?
Speaker 3 (47:50):
How long has he been mayor? Now it's been a while,
it's been eight years now. Yeah, So here we go.
And why we have elections in the odd off years,
I don't know. Because you get a few people turning out,
twenty eight people vote. Yeah, I mean, it's it's really
really something. Yes, your gal ilhan Omar ilhan Omar has
endorsed Omar Fetee for Minneapolis mayor over over Jacob Frye. Now,
(48:16):
normally I say these kinds of endorsements don't really matter.
I mean that people you know, pay attention to it,
but it doesn't matter. Well, in this case the city
of Minneapolis. She has a formidable ilan Omar does a
formidable political organization, getting out the vote, telling people how
to vote. She will get the voters out. I think
(48:38):
this helps him a lot. Don't know how much right now.
It hurts Fry, but it continues a few that they've
had for years, calling each other names. Yeah, I mean
he's back to her opponents. He says she should be.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
Out of there. Have you seen the I don't know
how new it is. The I just saw it for
the first time, I think during a break on this
show on TV the mayor eye campaign ad where he's
jogging around various parts of the Twin Cities, ruffling the
hair of kids and hitting landmarks spots. Yeah, I'm not sure.
(49:13):
Is he wearing the short shot? He's got the shorty
shorts gone, He's got the job. You know, he's a runner.
He's apparently a pretty good run And yeah, apparently he is.
So that's I saw that for the first time. You know,
it's like they're kind of it looks like they're kind
of presenting him as this is, you know, his town,
and he's every man and the whole bit. And I
don't know how it's going to play. I'm kind of curious. Yeah,
(49:34):
I do think there was one, if I may say,
strategic blunder to have him running next to or parallel
with deja vu. I'm not sure that was a that
was a good rick. I'm just saying, yeah, I mean yeah,
I mean that it's up to him. He's got all
(49:55):
the political walks.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
Yeah, yeah, so he's got the endorsements of the establishment
like and and and those and those folks. But uh
what uh what does Klobe? Does Klobe ever indorse she
I'll show you, I do believe, and I'm gonna check
my notes. Yeah, he does have clobysh are also, so
he has the establishment and you know, so you are
(50:18):
taking the left hand and then the far left hand here.
So it's going to be remarkable if in fact, this
upstart politician Omar or Fatae, yeah, is somebody who upsets
and we have ranked choice voting in Minneapo.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
But now there's some strategic stuff going down there.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
And so all of the the a BF movement to
anybody but Fry, they get together and say just vote
for us and don't vote for him.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yeah, well they got out. They better get out there,
and their joggers too, in their shorts see that they
got to show they can they can. It's endearing the way.
Speaker 3 (50:55):
Remember Paul Wellstone where he he ran for different parts.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
And that might have and I think well Son might
have been a little more effective with it. Somebody's saying,
I swear I saw the Gnome video at the airport
back in the third but again that's not proof, so
I don't know is it possible it did run? And
then they had a couple of conversations they said, we're
not We're not going to go down.
Speaker 3 (51:16):
Yeah, So if you saw that, you'd probably stop and say, well, well,
why am I waiting in line? Why are tsa people
calling in sick? Why are they not getting paid? And
by the way, all of these government workers are not
getting paid. The military is going to get paid, but
all of them, all of these government workers are not
being paid. So they're already stressed out by that, right,
(51:38):
and how long is that going to last? And President
Trump says they're not guaranteed they will get back paid,
so which is against the law.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
So I don't know where this all goes.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
You see Christy home there, and people are going to
throw up their hands and say I'm sick of it.
Speaker 2 (51:51):
Where are you going to be Friday? And sick of
it all? So you're not going to the game. I
knew it.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
Well, you know I knew it. You're head now is
out of town. Well, you can't go by yourself. I
would never go anywhere without her. Now, you are loyal?
Speaker 2 (52:06):
Question? I am? Well, I mean guardians gonna be a
little disappointed, and I think so will PJ. Fleck If
I'm honest, I mean you're Yeah, he doesn't. He doesn't
even know who I am. He doesn't. Sadly, all your
friends in the administration that you give all your great
ideas to, can't you sit the other day? Yeah? Really day?
(52:28):
When they see you coming?
Speaker 3 (52:29):
No, no, but they get a vacant stare, like there's
like there's a big donor behind me who they really
have to talk to you right now?
Speaker 2 (52:36):
So we don't really have time to get into this now. Unfortunately,
I wish we did. It sounds juicy. The Kestlers came
to the Gopher Garden pregame show that I host because
Nico Medved was one of my guests. This was for
the last game. Yes, second segment, Nico's coming and we're
catching up, you know, before the interview, Just hey, how
(52:56):
is the scrimmage? How's your family? Blah blah blah, how
are the kids? The Kestlers that are already come up
to say hi? And then over my right shoulders, he's
are you going to say? Let us say hi to him?
You know, Kessler just interrupts, and so then I got
to stop talking to Nico so he can go over
there and kiss the Kessler ring. Think about that. I
don't know what is so sad? Are you let him
(53:21):
say hi to It's not about you?
Speaker 3 (53:22):
Well, I was worried that he wouldn't know who we were.
He knew, you know, he knew, well, he knew, you
know how he knew. I want that's a true story.
He just interrupted like we weren't even there.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
It was ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
Well, I thought you were going to go on the
air any moment. And I really wanted to congratulate the
Nico on what I expect to be an incredible season.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
And I didn't take a long to turn on Ben Johnson.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
I missed Ben, you know, I I you know, he
in his corner, you know, I was when he was coach,
and so I expect to see you had many games
and I'll meet you in the club before the games,
and that's that's what it'll be.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
I'll watch. I'm gonna watch Friday. We're done at five

I got off early on Friday. Yeah, this will be better.

making any progress on getting McCartney in studio? We are not.
I'll just be honest with you. I won't even play
(54:48):
the game of yeah we're working on it. I'll just
be honest and seem like it's going anywhere, and if
it's gonna happen, it might be last minute. It's true,
because I know he's got the hotline number. Give him
the hot line and see what happens. What happens? Do
we just name put the hotline out on air? Or
is that too dangerous because we have too many weirdos calling,
way too many weirdos. Yeah that's true. Yeah, more than
