Speaker 1 (00:19):
Hey, Scott Fish, Scott Fish, just come on up here,
standing right up here, just come around there. Welcome back
to the state standing there, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Because we're gonna get him. Around of applause.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Welcome back to the Friday Football Feast. Sneaking up on
like ten ten something like that. Where are you, my man?
You're circumnavigating, You're covering more ground than Lewis and Clark.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I feel like it's a race at Canterbury off.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
The far turned Scott Fish now with a quarter of
them out of go, surging on the outside into the
final for long.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
And he wins. Right there.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
This man right here, his name is Scott Fish, all right,
So fantasy football fans may recognize him from Fantasy Football
Weekly with Paul Charchi and when that was a thing.
But this ten Amish segment that we've done every Friday
Football Feast, it's called ihop ihop in honor of Paul

(01:14):
and Paul Charchian for his decade and one half service
he gave to the Friday Football Feast as the identity
of fantasy football. And in case he and his wife
Roxy are listening right now, round of applause for charge
out Utah away and everything since two thousand and nine
he provided the station in this radio show. So in
honor of Paul, we crafted a fantasy football segment all

(01:38):
the way back to Buffalo Wild Wings Crystal, I think
week one through where we are now. Well, Scott, he's
part of owns, runs something called fantasycres dot org fantasycares
dot org, and support it if you have it in you.
And here's why, because Scott approached us month and change ago,

(02:01):
maybe two months ago, and said, this fantasy game that
you're doing where you know, you get six points for
rushing and receiving touchdowns, four points for passing touchdowns, two
points for two point conversions things like that. He said,
Fantasycares dot org wants to give fifty dollars a point
to the charities of our choice. Aleck chose the Kyrie

(02:25):
Jackson Foundation, Nordo chose Feed my Starving Children, and I
chose Second Harvest Heartlamb, something in which I believe, but
mostly because Chris Finch, coach of the Timberwolves, has joined
the nine to new radio show ever since he got
here and basically is like I'm on the board at
Second Harvest Heart Lamb. So if you could just pop

(02:45):
that a couple of times. We're all good. So I'm like, yeah,
I'll do Second Harvest HEARTLAMB. Well, now we head into
the final Friday football feast, and for twenty twenty five,
I have sixty six points, Aleck has sixty points, Nordos
forty six. So you take those numbers times fifty. Chris

(03:06):
Finch a month ago came on nine to noon and said,
whatever total you finished with, Paul, I will match for
Second Harvest Heartland. Last week Thousand Hills. Why don't you
explain to what they did?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yeah, thousand Hills, lifetime grazed, grass fed Clearwater, Minnesota's finest.
They said they would match whatever I accrued to support
Feed My Starving Children.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
So now that gets us into this week, this baby game,
this little baby I hop fantasy game for these three charities.
Thanks in large part to Scottfish and fantasycares dot Org
has generated fifteen thousand, one hundred dollars for Feed My
Starving Children, Second Harvest Heartland, and the Kyrie Jackson Foundation.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Give Scott a round.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Of applause please for his philanthropic ways, his kindness, and
his enterprising to come up with the idea.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
So we appreciate you, brother, God bless you. Thank you
very much much. Man.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
So what we're gonna do this week to close things
out is we each get to select a running back
and a wide receiver and we I vetted this out.
I ran it by Fantasy cares before we did it.
I don't think we got to run in by thousand
Hills or Finch. I think we're gonna be okay. But
we each're gonna get because Scott's like, well, you you

(04:26):
should use the Minnesota Viking this week to kind of,
you know, pump up the Eagan feast. And I mean,
with all due respect to my favorite team, I mean
it's trying to find a touchdown. So anyway, So the
idea that I came up with is we each get
will Rikers points total.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Except there we go.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
So let's kick five field goals this weekend. Will the
thrill the Alabama kid? That would be fifteen there, say
we mix in a couple of touchdowns, get up to
a seventeen and that would be times fifteen for our
our charities. So fifteen dollars we all get will Riker's points.

(05:06):
We each get to pick any running back and any
wide receiver we want from this weekend, Let's begin with
the con.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Nordo seasons on the line. Here it is, and you
mentioned the name during our text thread. I'm going to
take for my wide receiver Jackson Smith and Jigba just
against no. Well, that's all I'm taking him. We can all,
we can all take take him. We can take whoever
we want. There's there's no there's no sniping.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
We're not big New Year's resolutions, guys, Nordo or I.
I am like we we can make changes on July eighteenth.
If you aren't, however, we we with resolve. The resolution
for you next year is that you actually read the
set list emails that are sent on Thursday with what's
coming up. But anyway, No, I was locked in yesterday.
I told you that at practice. You call that locked in.

(05:53):
That's one way to look at it. So Jackson Smith
and Jigba.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Who else against those against those ratty nods. And then
Sunday Night football, I'm going to be rooting for Derrick
Henry to run the Ravens into the playoffs with an
AFC North title. I just I just think Henry has
been that that guy, that workhorse, that stud for them
over the last month. Yeah, so I'm rooting for mister
Smith and Jigba and mister Henry to get some points

(06:18):
and get some cash for feed my starving children.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
And our bit is just touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
So like if we had used Derrick Henry against the
super special Green and Gold last game, ho lya cow.
I mean, that's a that's a betting bonanza right there.
Four points something like that, twenty four points. So we
all get Riker's points, Jackson Smith and Jigma and Derrick
Henry for the producer. Yes, please, what about you, mister Aleck,
you can use the same too. If you want the

(06:44):
running back.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
I'm gonna take Jamir Gibbs Wow against the Bears.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Wow right in Ben's face at the.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
Lion.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
I just think the Lions. I mean, the Lions are
struggling right now. They've fallen back to the basement here
where they are very comfortable living. But I you know,
there's a it's kind of a pride game. They probably
aren't gonna be able to throw the football on that weather.
So Jamiir Gibbs the receiver. I was gonna take JSN.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
If you want to do it.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
And I'm rethinking it. I'm looking at the schedule.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
I'm rethinking it because I took him. Yeah, no, I
mean no, I want to Ziggs win. I want to
zigg and win. I'm gonna take Jason two. Now, we're
just gonna watch that game together. I'll be texting you.
Ye'll be sweet and and I'll enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
But those are gonna be my two Jamiir Gibbs and JSN.
I took jays in earlier in the season. He didn't
pay off for me so right.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Well, ever since Jackson Smith and Jigba ran into Brian Flores,
whole thing's changed. The whole thing has changed. He he
Week four versus San Francisco, Okay, Jackson Smith and jigbab
Seattle wide receiver. Nine catches, one hundred and twenty four yards,
no touchdowns, but very reputable game. Jackson Smith and Jigba

(07:56):
had eight one hundred yard games in to the game
against the Vikings.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Can I give you a quick thing?

Speaker 1 (08:03):
He went two catches twenty three yards that day. He
has one one hundred yard game the rest of the season. Yeah,
we don't need to make it blank check terrorism for
Brian Flores.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Do we? I like Midway through the season in the
locker room.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
I was talking to Justin Jefferson at his locker and
he's like, man, what Jayson is doing is crazy. I'm like,
did they not double team him the way that they
double team you? And he's like, Justin's like, I know, man,
it's crazy. Well, Brian Flores double team I mean that
was really It's really been it from there.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
You know what this is going to force us to do? Though,
I mean it doesn't I'm not being forced. We're really
rooting for Sam Darnold on Satin Wow, We're rooting for
Sam darn I think to do and as the route
that I am, we can put aside. Why wasn't he
staying here? Why did he go bright lights, big moments?
How it didn't work out last year? How it will

(08:55):
work out on Saturday night, not just for charity, but
for him to get a monkey off his back?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Right?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I mean, just what did he learn Week eighteen last
year with it all on the line. What did he
learn from the nine sacks terrorism in the playoff game
with the Rams And how is he going to put
that in play on Saturday night against Shanahan's group?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
How could he.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Sleep the night before the game, knowing that, like the
opportunity that he just.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Threw to the throw aside last year.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
He is going to have this same opportunity. I don't know,
I mean the pressure.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Of that, but that's why I'm excited about it. I
have nothing on the line. I don't root for the Seahawks,
don't care about the Seahawks. But there's something about Like
he got slapped in the face a year ago, he
did not meet the moment he moves on to another team.
There is something remarkable about now winning what twenty seven
games the last two years with two different teams, and
finding his way in the identical spot a year later,

(09:48):
where the entire bitbelieves on the line, if he is
just better in the red zone effectively than he was
three hundred and sixty five ish days ago.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
It's true.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
But I will say of late like he has strugg
and that offense has been carried by Mike McDonald's defense.
So it's gonna be a fun one, gonna be a
issue to watch.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
PA, do you have your picks? What are I mean?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
What are you googling now? Texting Scott Fish for answers?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Well, it's it's what Ordo said, got me going a
little bit okay, because it's like, okay, are we going
to be rooting for this now? Not necessarily, but Jackson
Smith and Jigba scoring a bunch of points for all
these charities. That's the a topic. But he went nine
one twenty four, but no touchdowns. Week one, Seattle lost
the game. It was a lower scoring game. San Francisco's defense.

(10:34):
I heard Order the other day talking about the lack
of potency with the pass rush. I mean, it's really
really falling off late in the season. Their team is
so beat up man right, still winning all those points
and yards they gave up. I wanted to take Jackson
Smith and Jigba. And it's not that I don't like
the pick. I actually love the pick. I'm just not
sure that we want to marry ourselves all three.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
That's kind of one guy.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
I don't think we want to marry ourselves all three.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
You know what I'm doing, I'm going to take no,
you're you're really convicted. I'm gonna take age ced Lamb.
I'll take Cede Lamb against the giant. That's the New
York Giants. Well, the Giants were really good, so that's.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
I'll take c d Lamb and then my running back
is going to be DeAndre Swift, all right, And I
touched on this a little earlier in the week. It's
if you follow Nordo and Prize Picks, okay, if you're
part of that Prize Picks covenant. I don't know if
it's gonna happen, but what Ben Johnson is going to
try to do to Dan Clambols and the Detroit Lions

(11:35):
should be what alec Flus state in forty eight states.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Week two, We gonna get you a map for your birthday.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Week two, these Lions caught the Bears before this new
coach had things hit legit full throttle and made the
mistake of scoring fifty two on him. And when Ben
Johnson left through the tunnel. From what I'm told, I
mean a lot of people were getting after him and
they just forgot the spect that they should have for
this elite offensive. Mind that was Week two. This is

(12:04):
Week EIGHTEAM and he's at home and he needs to win.
We just saw the Lions. If it's possible to score
seventy points in this game, Ben Johnson's gonna do it.
He will not stop, mark my words. So I think
DeAndre Swift's going to be a.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Big part of it, and he's also a former Liamb.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
So Ben taking the context and the layering of it
former team put up fifty two on me.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Screw you.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
I'm gonna make your former running back the identity of
this game, and he's gonna score at least three times
on you.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
So I'll take DeAndre Swift and Cede Lamb.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I like Cedee Lamb. The thing that I struggled with
is trying to find and I think he's Smith and
jigs right. I think you did with CD, but I
was struggling to dig into games that effectively don't match. Yeah,
so we got division games and rivalries. What are the circumstances.
I was chatting with Scott, actually you know, a lave's out,
but just thinking about certain teams and high end of

(12:59):
it time that that certainly would be an a plus
selection in any other week. But there are some people
that got some cruises booked and some ideas of let's
get that quick exit interview done the next day, let's
get out alive, SAMs injury, Let's just go hang out
in Turks and Caicos for a month, all right.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Justin's kind of a sneaky pick. Justin against this Packers
defense that may not be playing.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Starters, sneak this speaking of their secondary little force feeding this,
and I don't think it's gonna happen because bo Melton,
you know, he hasn't played any defensive snaps, but they
work him out at defense and practice stuff like that.
This is the with the I'm compiling the game calling
depth chart and just guessing what Packers will or will

(13:43):
not play. I can't see them playing Evan Williams. I
can't see them playing Xavier McKinney. No Valentine should play.
In fact, if I were them, I would play him
to get some more reps.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Well, they just got Trayvon Diggs off the street too.
He might play just to fill space.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
He might.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
But for the first time since two thousand and seven
and Lorenzo Alexander with the then Washington Redskins, I have
a player on both sides of the depth chart. Bow
Melton corner, bow Melton wide receiver. I mean, if they
play Dobbs and if they play Reid and guys like that,
you know, Christian Watson, I don't see it. So Scott

(14:19):
Fish Fantasycares dot org thank you very much. Likewise for
thousand Hills and Chris Finch, coach of the Timberwolves, and
the final.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Tally would go like this.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Nordo has Jackson Smith and Jigba Derrick Henry and Will
Rekerds points, Alec Lewis Athletic Athletic dot com, Jamiir Gibbs,
Jackson Smith and Jigba Rekers points. I have DeAndre Swift
and Ceedee Lamb and Will Reikers points for Second Harvest, Heartland,
Feed my Starving Children and Macky read Jackson Foundation.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Cool Fantasycars dot org.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Give it a look and help if you have it
in you the way they help, We'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
We have a big, big, big birthday this weekend. I
don't exactly know where my man is, but Ian Fish
happy thirteenth birthday this week and wherever you are and
his dad Scott surprising or bringing him to the Vikings
and Packers game Border Battle one three one for Ian
Fish's thirteenth birthday. Happy birthday, my brother, and congratulations. This

(15:33):
is the Friday Football Feast of Buffalo wild Wings Egan.
Each and every weekday we do a segment called Bikes Bites.
Nordo Mad producers out there in the crowd with some
bikes bites. If anybody has any bikings questions, put your
hands up and we will serve you.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Nordo take it away.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Indeed, Bikes Bites is brought to you by Thousand Hills
Lifetime Grazed grass fed Beef.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Beef.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
You can shop online, box and meat shows up your doorstep,
local Coburns, Kowalski's locations, local co ops. It's a Clearwater,
Minnesota company. Matt and everybody there supporting charity as well.
Thousand Hills Lifetime Grazed grass Fed Beef. Now, if you
do have a question, anybody that has a.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Question during Vikes Bites, a.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Question for Pa, a question for Alec, or for any
of us, just raise your hand and I will find
my way to you.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
My first one, though, is for Aleck.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
In a season finale such as this, a border battle,
it is competition.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
The whole thing. We just want to beat the pack
and get out alive.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
What is one particular thing specifically on offense other than
JJ McCarthy getting an opportunity this weekend that intrigues you?

Speaker 2 (16:37):
In an eight and eight radio finale.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Yeah, I mean JJ McCarthy is the headliner for everything
I'm looking at on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
But I say the offensive line.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
I mean, you just go back to last off season,
like spending on.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
The interior and improving the interior was the entire conversation.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
And obviously the Vikings aren't gonna have Ryan Kelly in
this game, but I will fries. This year has been
a little leaky in my opinion. Donovan Jackson, I feel like,
has been pretty rock solid, even though he's navigated some injuries.
So watching the old line, thinking about the O line
in the next year, Norda, I kind of lost you.
I thought you were out there, You're over there. That's

(17:17):
That's probably what I'm looking at.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 3 (17:20):
No, I absolutely love it, and I'm curious what the
next question is going to be.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Mike Spots, Ike Spye, what's your name and where are
you from? My name is Abby.

Speaker 7 (17:28):
I'm originally from Maple Grove, but I live in Washington.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
D C.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Hey. Wow, wow, thanks for hanging out with you.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Hear me, Okay, I'm from Anna, Costia Southeast or RFK.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
She knows that I know all right, on I know
where that is for sure.

Speaker 7 (17:43):
And I'm standing here with the twenty twenty four Minnesota
Vikings Fan of the Year.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Wow, congratulations, we're among royalty today.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
On I mean that it had to be an arduous
task fan of the year in the twenty twenty five
she wearing a mglothern Jersey.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Okay, I think it's since the year twelve.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
I mean I thought that was she was until you
put her on the Boroughs team.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Now she has a nine of a different shade, good one.
All right, what is your question?

Speaker 7 (18:11):
My question is we're probably going to be like fifteen
sixteen draft pick.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Are we thinking?

Speaker 1 (18:16):
O line?

Speaker 7 (18:17):
I'm hoping for a corner, a safety if Harrison Smith retires, obviously,
not quarterback, not receiver, not running back. I don't think
what are we looking at in that fifth fourteen, fifteen,
sixteen seventeen pick where we're going to be?

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Your name is Abby, Abby French, George's County, of course.
All right, nor do and I will go down this
road because it feels like we're kindred souls from days
gone by, because we I mean, with a game to
go in the year, the last thing we want to
talk about is the draft. I want to talk about
the draft. I'm not gonna lie. Well, you could take
it away. I mean, if they got a bunch of picks,

(18:51):
here's here's no idea, here's what I'd say, thank you.
Cornerback is definitely on the top of my mind. Some
tach Gold depth at some point. Center is kind of
on the top of my mind.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
And then I mean, if Jeremiah loved the running back,
now makes it that far?

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Bro?

Speaker 2 (19:09):
You got names?

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Yeah, I mean, look, this is this is what I do.
This is I mean, this is the child. But I
think cornerback, there's a bunch of cornerbacks that will be
in that pocket of the first round.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
That'll be interesting.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
So Mansord Delaye from LSU is a name I would
keep in the back of your mind for the next
few months.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
And that's under the assumption, Abbey, they have that first
round pick coming up in the draft.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Are you saying they're gonna trade it for something?

Speaker 1 (19:34):
I mean, if they have that, they may not have
say they don't have that one or the next one?

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah, or the next one. Who do you want, Lamar Jackson?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
You might need an edge to replace anyway, God bless you,
Happy New Year and a great question yep, great questions.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
What you haven't studied the draft yet?

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Now? All right, I think we have another question from
a fan here. What is your name and where are
you from?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
My name Cody up from Apple Valley? Give it up,
Apple Valley?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
All right?

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Is that the Cody who came on the Friday Football
Feast like three four years ago and talked for five
or ten minutes? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Oh my man, he's an elite football mind. I remember you.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
All right, Cody, the elite football Mind's got a question
for the stable up top?

Speaker 2 (20:15):
What do you got? Do you think Harrison Smith will
make the Hall of Fame If you do? Why so?

Speaker 5 (20:20):
Mmmm?

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Alex?

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I believe the way he's finishing is is very eye opening.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
It's not a cench, but I'd say.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Yes, Yeah, I'd say yes to just a special career
to do it all in one place, and I you know,
some of the Hall of Fame voting and like honors,
it takes people to kind of get behind you. Like
with Jared Allen, there was a lot of push from people,
and Harrison will have that because of the way he's
treated people, the way he's gone about it.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
So I would say, yeah, that's a good question.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Great question, brother, Thank you. And Harrison Smith returning to
the NFL. I mean I think that things so tied
to Brian Flores. It's like, if Flores comes back here,
I think Harrison is above fifty percent to come back,
but not not much above.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
If you'd asked me six weeks ago, I would have
said no chance a joe. But the way he's looked
and what cannot be lost and how he's looked recently
is the personal health issue that he navigated at the
beginning of the season not only slowed his start, but
it chiseled away at the work he did physically leading
into the season, So it took him a lot of

(21:29):
time to get back right.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Yeah, and this guy loves game days.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
He said in the past, there's no replacement for what
it's like to be on the field on game day.
So if Brian Flores is back and Harrison's body feels
right and family wise, he feels like he can navigate
another season. I'm not gonna put it past this guy.
I've joked I'll be here covering this team and he'll
be on the team. That's just how it is.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Kes what Fike? All Right, We're going bar side here.
What's your name? Where are you from?

Speaker 6 (21:56):
My name is Josh. I'm from Cannon Falls, and and
my question is.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Hold on, I have a question for you. How are
those bush lights tasted?

Speaker 3 (22:05):
See? After eleven years of being back in the studio
and I'm at the party now, I get to be
at the party now, I still can't have the bush lights.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
I'm for you this morning, sir. That's great. Bush lights forever, baby,
that's great.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Hey.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
My question, well question and comment is for all the
JJ McCarthy haters which Jersey. Yeah, you're so proud you
cover it up with overalls. That was my wife's idea. Yeah,
that was my wife's idea. I like, why won't the
Jay or when will the JJ McCarthy haters stop and

(22:41):
leave it be? Give him some time. He's a rookie.
He didn't get to participate in all the off season
stuff until now. Give him some time. I have faith
in JJ. What are your thoughts about that? Are we
gonna go quarterback? I mean everyone's saying bring in an
old school quarterback or whatever, that's what we always do.

(23:02):
I'm sick of it. Let's go with JJ. Live with him,
die with them, amen.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
JJ Amm well AJ to JJ for payday. Well thish,
This I.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Believe will be his tenth start this weekend.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
I think so the tenth start, okay, So as my
taste goes just for whatever, you know, working the job
that I work with the team for as.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Long as I have.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
I just I've learned over the years that you got
to give these these newbies, I mean like Drake May
and bow Nicks, specifically May this.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Time last year, I mean, they weren't.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Nearly as accomplished as they are now, especially May. So
I'd like to give them twenty or twenty five before
I can really put a blanket over the whole thing.
But that doesn't mean a veterans still can't come in
as as like a backup to push McCarthy, the the
the Aleck and I and I'm speaking for Alec here

(23:58):
and I think he's going to agree when it comes
to quote the hater's end quote.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
We I mean, I don't know about you, man, I can't.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
If you absorb every single bit of praise and bit
of hate so to speak, your head will explode. So,
yes there are detractors, and yes they're those who get
frustrated by the detractors. And they bang their fists down
like I know this guy is absolutely the right answer,
where I think it's foolish for anybody to say that
simply because the a topic with JJ McCarthy is whether

(24:30):
it's happenstance these injuries. Man, play stop, play stop, play stop,
play stop. That has to stop. That just has to stop.
So that's my part of the answer.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
What about you?

Speaker 4 (24:43):
What I would say is this quarterbacks. Young quarterbacks need time.
Oftentimes regimes, coaches, GMS, they don't have that time. And
so like threading the needle within those worlds is the
conversation that we're gonna have probably all off season JJ

(25:04):
and the haters and all that stuff. Like the objective
way to look at it is the performance has not
been nearly good enough. It obviously got better from weeks
fourteen to sixteen, and you hope that it continues on
that upward trajectory. And if that's the case, he will
maintain this job. But as the Vikings inner next season,
they cannot move forward without ensuring that the quarterback room

(25:26):
hits a higher floor than it did this year.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
And that's just the bottom line.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Whatever they do, whether it's roll with McCarthy, as the starter,
whether it's bringing competition to be the starter, they have
to have the quarterback room at a floor that is
playoff caliber and win a playoff game caliber, because this
regime is entering their fifth season not having won a
playoff game. So that's what I say is no hate
on JJ. It's not like he needs developmental time. There's

(25:51):
no question all quarterbacks do. Franchises don't and not franchises.
Franchise have time, coaches, gms front off, they often don't
have that time, and that is a hard world to navigate,
and really it's the job of ownership to ensure that
that those worlds are navigating for the betterment of the organization.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
That's beautifully described. Final one bokes by Bike Bikes back
there with.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
The n what's your name? Where are you from? Brother?
My name is Holden.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
I'm from Bloomington, And my question is, so I get
into the draft in April, And something I've heard from
social media everywhere is that we've struggled because we don't
have depth, and especially drafting, because we're paying millions and
millions of dollars for starters, but we don't have people

(26:38):
behind them to go. And my question is do we
need to move on from Quasi, especially drafting and with
how much we.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Just had busts year.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
My part of that equation would be with Quasi Adolpha
Mensa and his regime. Okay, the uh, the everybody, everybody,
every idea, everything that comes with it.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
I believe into this year it would be premature to
ponder something like that. And by the way, he did
just get some form of contract extension into this year.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
And and and you know there being some type of
insubordination issue there there isn't. So therefore that would be
the first part of the answer. Second part the team
has to draft better and it has to start right now.
And you know when you when you get Grenard and
Van Ginkol, Isaiah Rodgers had a pretty good year. Eric

(27:41):
Wilson was a wonderful I mean, there are a lot
of good things Quacy and his group have. Don redmand
uh Jalen Redman. Wow, that's right at the top of
the list from a drafting standpoint. Okay, we can win
with Addison. I think McCarthy's gonna be okay, But I
think you gotta wait, Donavan Jackson, I mean, we're we're
not we've done this too long to like, all right,
well let's go through every single one and go B

(28:03):
minus D plus C minus and that determines whether somebody
is in or out. Game doesn't work that way. There's
a lot more that goes into that role than simply
the draft. So no, I don't believe something like that
will happen into this year. In the next year, I
don't believe it should happen. But the a topic is

(28:24):
that most of the drafting, with all due respect, has
been poor, and drafting is the lifeblood of a team.
Free agencies like the prednozone, the steroids that you put
in there to get the blood flowing. And and they've
never heard that analogy that's pretty good. It's it's like
the theoid where the drafting is the life blood. It

(28:46):
has to be better. What I would say is this
hold it. It's a good question.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
The season will end Sunday, and then over the course
of next week there's gonna be a lot of meetings
and interviews, and there has to be a lot of
evaluation from ownership on how this season went, the decisions
that were made, who was behind all of the decisions,
what the collaboration looks looked like, and then what the
process has been. And that's really the way like how

(29:12):
I you know, how I expect ownership to answer this
question is was the process right? And if the answer
to that is yes, then it's hard moving forward to
do something differently. If you feel like the process and
the communication and the synergy is not right, then I
think that's where you have those conversations and so and
it's hard to know on the outside. It's hard to

(29:34):
delineate and dissect that all from the outside. But that's
really got to be the question the draft, and you
said it one hundred percent accurate. They're gonna have nine
or ten picks in this upcoming draft, just like they
had a ton of picks in twenty twenty two. They
were awful in the twenty twenty two draft. And this
has to be a foundational draft moving forward for this team.
And so whatever whoever's in charge, whatever the process is,

(29:56):
that has to be the situation for the twenty twenty
six NFL Draft.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Brilliant, Thank you holding great job, bites bits in the
crowd with the questions. That was fantastic. When we return,
we each are going to identify a team from the NFC.
We believe we'll go to the Super Bowl with a
quick y and we're going to tie it to an
appliance that's next on k f A n Mars. Welcome

(31:11):
back to Buffalo Wild Wings Egan for the final moves
for the twenty twenty five Minnesota biking season. Happy New Year.
Do all of you on behalf of the nine to
Noon trio here at Buffalo Wild Wings Egan. That would
include Alex Lewis from The Athletic and the Athletic dot Com.
Subscribe if you are so inclined. It's very good. Nordo

(31:32):
and I have been subscriber since day one. Read a
lot of stuff there, follow a lot of stuff there.
It's just very journalistically sound with some very talented writers.
So Athletic dot Com for that. Nordo producer of nine
to Noon and I'm Paul Allen. It behooves us once
again to bank Sarah and Brian with Steve's Appliances and

(31:53):
Steve's Appliances dot Com. They sponsor Alex inclusion nine to
Noon each and every Friday. Nor Do has worked with
them for appliances. I've had family members use their their
Mounds View showroom to get some appliances, and a lot
of people over the course of the last year have

(32:14):
have had faith and or believed in Steve's Appliances, either
because they know them, or they listen to KFA in
or they listened to Nine to Noon.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
I got a dishwasher showing up next Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
I was just gonna say, you just got something right.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
It doesn't end they are you kidding me? They are
in Mounds View. They have a seven thousand square foot showroom.
If you go to the website Steve's Appliances dot Com
hit shop deals, that's just the start of deals, guaranteed
low prices, also with free recycling and so much more.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
We love Steve's Appliances. I love Sarah and Brian.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
They're two of the kindest people I've met in a
long time, and it's an honor to be able to
endorse Steve's Appliances. And we have a lot of gratitude
for them taking part in the Friday Football Feast the
way they do. So we did this earlier in the season,
and since this is our final feast, we figured we
would close it this way too, making a case for

(33:12):
a team from the NFC to get to the Super
Bowl and tying it to an appliance that you can
get at Steve's Appliances either a mound viewer Steve's Appliances
dot Com. And we didn't go over who has which
team and why? If we have the same team, great,
If we don't, that's fine too. I'm I'm going to

(33:34):
make a case for the Chicago Bears to go to
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
In fact, they're eight and.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
A half nine to one, and if I were in
spot up mode, I would play them at that number.
This is not a blind staff, Okay, they're teams that
that that we think can represent super Bowl sixty in
a wide open year for the NFC and the AFC
and with the Chicago Bears. For me, the appliance is

(34:04):
going to be the ge Profile stainless steal over the
range microwave. The website Steve's Appliances dot Com shop deals,
you'll find it. You can save up to two hundred
dollars on this high high end microwave. Why am I
using a microwave with the Bears, Because I mean they
pushed start and this sucker got hot in a minute.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
And it stayed, It stayed hot.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
And what's coming out of it is very very good.
Here's the context. The coach matters. Everybody's talked about that
a million times. Ben Johnson, the coach matters very good
at what he does. That Niners game got me over
the hump on this take because it's scoring with a
team that was scoring a ton of points. That that

(34:47):
was a little bit of a concern of mine thinking
about who's going to the super Bowl. They went toe
to toe with a coach who might win Coach of
the Year on the road and should have won the game,
but DeAndre Swift ran the wrong route at the end
and they got the puddle. So the fact that they
can they've now shown us we can score with you.
They also took the Green Bay Packers' best shot a

(35:11):
couple of weeks ago and won a low scoring game.
How about the game after Thanksgiving? When you go to
Philadelphia and you win a low scoring game against the Eagles,
you're on my radar. And I don't care how enigmatic
or mercurial people think the Eagles are. They're still the Eagles,
and they're tough to be to Lincoln Financial. So they
the run that they get from their non stars and

(35:34):
players like DeAndre Swift. I mean, I think the Chicago
Bears are going to the Super Bowl. So that's my
super Bowl selection from the NFC.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Nordo.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
Well, I'm going to go with the San Francisco forty
nine ers, and we're going to get to see him
of course Saturday night Tomorrow night as they seek out
the one seed, and if everything goes through Santa Clara,
they might be playing a Super Bowl in their home stadium.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
In early February.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
To mash that up, I picked the Speed Queen d
R seven seven cubic foot white front load electric dryer.
Now electric is key to this because the Niners can
be electric.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Love it, but the big key looking too dryers.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
All those that care about their appliances go to Steve's
Appliances dot Com. Speed Queen is like industrial grade. You
can throw a freaking brick in this thing and it's
going to operate forever.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
The fact that Shanahan has found.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
A way half of his defense is hurt to the
point where their demise might just be they run out
of healthy bodies, really, But in the end, whether it's
figuring out how do we get beyond Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk
went insane? What do we do Ricky Piersoll's in and
out with little Nixon bruises here and there, Old faithful
No matter what Christian McCaffrey carrying this offense, the durability

(36:50):
of the Niners, in combination with the maturity and the
high end coaching, is why specifically, if the Niners win
tomorrow night, they will be going to the super I
do look at it on both sides of the equation,
AFC NFC. Do you gotta go to Mile High? Do
you gotta go to Gillette? On the NFC side, you
gotta go to Seattle, you gotta go to the Bay.
I think it. It just has played out this way statistically.

(37:12):
The one seeds are finding their way into the big game.
And so I'm taking my speed Queen electric Dryer, I'm
matching it with the forty nine ers, and I'm heading
to Santa Clara in February Steve's appliances.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
Dot Com to find that electric dryer. What about you
don't actually put a brick in your appliance. I can't
believe you guys are leaving me The Rams. Yeah yeah,
I mean the the Los Angeles Rams. If I'm not mistaken,
their coach is still Sean McVeigh good. Their quarterback is
still Matthew Stafford. Their receivers are still Puka Nakua and
Navante Adams, and their defense is very multiple with the

(37:46):
great front and coordinated well by Chris Shula.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
They look good in Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
They have dropped two games recently. They lost to the
Seahawks in Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
So my Steve's appliance is the Frigidaire Smudgeproof. That's a
stainless steel double electric wall oven. They are smudgeproof. They
have some smudges. Yeah, but but I mean, look, losing
to Atlanta and losing Seattle is not going to mitigate
the Rams from going on the road and winning games

(38:18):
in the playoffs. Again, when you have Sean McVay, you
have Matthew Stafford, you are as multiple as they are
on both sides of the football, and their lines of
scrimmage win, like just like college football yesterday. In the
playoffs is a line of scrimmage game. I trust the
Rams on both sides of the football.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Are they gonna get their left tackle back?

Speaker 4 (38:36):
I really hope. So it's gonna help them to be smudgeproof,
all right?

Speaker 2 (38:41):
DJ Humphries awful, Yeah, DJ Humphrees.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
You don't want to see blonious and forty eight states.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Yeah, but yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
No, the Rams, the Smudgeproof double Electric.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
And Whitworth was watching Humphrees play and started doing push ups.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Well if it is just in case.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
And then in a prime game he walking on Diamie.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
That's right. He would have gone straight into the locker
room and suited.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
Up and then he signed back just like Frank Ragnow
had a great three am strings.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Great.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
Uh No the.

Speaker 4 (39:10):
Rams for me, yeah, their favor The Rams are just
it's the team I I would stick with. Seattle's interesting.
Their defense is just absurd beyond belief. Mcgonnaald can win
on the road too, he can't, And I don't think
that defense is absurd beyond belief. When we get to
this next level, Okay, I think it's good. It's very good.
Don't get me wrong. I like the Corners.

Speaker 5 (39:31):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Witherspoon, I've always felt his least great. Yeah, we'll see.
I mean that's you don't like Witherspoon. I do, But.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
He's one of those players kind of like Sauce Gardner,
where everybody's just pounding into my mind, how unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Dion like they are and they're not.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
You know, you know they have their interior defender, Byron
Murphy the second.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
He's great.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
He would have been here had he not been picked
sixteenth in the twenty twenty four draft.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
I believe probably you know who's gonna help the Bears
tuning Joe Tooney's great, four time Super Bowl winner. He's smudgeproof, Hey,
smudgeproof he I mean Jonah Jackson and Drew Dolman. I mean,
those guys have played so well this year. I never
would have guessed that those I mean that strategy.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
They entered the offseason wanting to revamp their in teer
to help that entire offense, and they did it to
a great, I mean great level with those three guys.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
What's the lamentation that we're having now is, Hey, we
wanted to do left guard. We go and draft when
he's pretty good. Yeah, you know, and then he's gonna
grow up and I hopefully it starts a ton of games,
helps us win a ton of games. Hey, they go
out and get Drew Dolman. Hey, we coming with Ryan Kelly.
Like just the the simplicity of when it works versus
what it does when it doesn't. Work and the conversations
that come off of that.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
That's also a run first operation. The Beers are a
run first and see smash mouth operation.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
And see that's the biggest chance outside of the coach.
And he's not afraid of anything. And this thing is
high level. Hit legit. Now, when you're able to go
out there and score that many points against anybody a
week removed from winning a lower scoring game in dramatic fashion,
there Ben showing you I can win them when they're low,

(41:09):
and I can win them or be right there at
the wire when we're getting up there around eighty points.
But but what you said is key because the rams
with Jared Verse, Kobe Turner, all those cats, they're fantastic.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Yeah, okay, don't get me wrong. Kobe Turner is a
bigger guy.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
He's a true nose tacklest three technique run stopper. I
just think that you can push those guys around in
the running game if it's done the right way. And
for Johnson, don't be surprised if all of a sudden
we're in the postseason and we see like Hunter Hunter
smythe as the up back, the h back.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Doing things that we didn't see all year. That's what
makes him good.

Speaker 4 (41:49):
Can you guys believe, Like, if you'd have told me
Caleb looked like this this season, I would have not believed.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
No chance. So I wonder what that's on that's on
the back of the run game. Yeah, I agree, it's huge.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
So, ladies and gentlemen coming up around the corner. A
very very special guest joining us on site at Buffalo
Wild Wings.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Egan.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
This individual rarely makes public appearances. We'll tell you who
it is when we return to Buffalo Wild Wings.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
