Speaker 1 (00:16):
There goes Musk from K one two. He's the Savage
Beast at the Savage Feast.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Coming up next on the stage.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Hello, lead on her friend Tangle Ray and I'm muss
Welcome back to Buffalo Wild.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Wings, Savage.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
This is a segment we started way back at Buffalo
Wild Wings wherever nineteen ninety two YEP called I Hop
in honor of Paul, I Hop in honor of Paul.
So far, with a month and change to go in
the season, didn't get that International House of Pancakes endorsement.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
We tried.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
We were looking for pigs in a blanket. Radio has
not transpired bacon, but nevertheless we continue to bring the
bacon with the I Hop because it means in honor
of Paul, as in Paul charging him the fantasy identity
of this radio show for a decade and a half
on the Friday football piece. So what we do is
with I Hop we go quarterback, running back, wide receiver,

(01:12):
tight end. Then we come right back like in snake fashion,
normal fantasy stuff. Six points for touchdowns, for passing touchdowns,
receiving a running six and so on, and and we
score it. Now there has been no dangling carriage or
anything at the end of this metaphorical rainbow. We just
kind of did it in honor of Paul in I

(01:33):
hop like fashion. Here are the scores into this week.
I have fifty four points. Alex Lewis is surging on
the outside with giant strides ridiculous as he circumnavigates the field,
and he has fifty two. Nordo still with a puncher's
chance with forty. So it's relatively tightly contested as we

(01:57):
head into our tight end selections this week. The only
rule really is that you can't use the same guy twice.
The one bringing up the proverbial rear is Nordo. And
who is your tight end this week? And why well,
I'm just I'm gonna go.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
The last time we all kind of had a scoring feast,
I believe was the last time we picked tight ends.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
It was a score Gami and and I had.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
I had Ferguson from Dallas, and you had you had
the guy. I'm gonna select Trey McBride, who's had seven
tds in his last seven games season super disease. I
don't know what's going on with Kyler Marvin Harrison Junior
not living maybe up to expectations. Maybe that's a QB conversation.
Trey McBride has finally followed through on what we were

(02:40):
looking for him.

Speaker 2 (02:41):

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Is he's Wow, he's got all these targets, he's got
all these catches. I think he had like one TD
last year. He's finding his way into the end zone.
He's the only sure thing, it feels like, on that
Card's offense right now. So I'm gonna take Trey McBride
seven tds in his last seven and hopefully we can
bump this thing up a notch and I can stop
losing to the beat writer.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
He's such a good player. Trey McBride's awesome. I he
got an extension, I think, But if had he not
believe he was gonna be a free agent this offseason,
would have would have been a guy who my eye
would have been on because I know Kevin O'Connell has
a ton of respect for him.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
So it's crazy though, after that's a large like you
know j Jackson Smith and Jigba who completely I mean,
that was the curse right there is picking a wide
receiver going against my favorite team last week. But all
the names and there there are highlight wide receivers each
and every year. Malik Neighbors is gonna get healthy and
he'll be back in the mix next year. Jets and
Jamar Chase with the tight end spot, man, I mean,

(03:37):
it's just like it's gone from fat guy that can
block and potentially catch a five yard out to this guy.
Changes games, he changes offenses, changes the entire frame of franchises.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
McBride's one of those guys and Bowers and and really
a handful of others. Yeah, I really, I was kind
of shocked last week in that Seahawks game the AJ
Barner dude, Like, I actually really liked that gay court round.
He's fast. I thought he was a really good player.
So yeah, the tight end position is huge, and it's
it's kind of interesting too, Like as much as it
has transitioned to the pass catching guy, the big blocking

(04:12):
types are kind of in vogue as well. So it's, uh,
it's I mean, the position's fascinating. It's a hybrid spot
in a league that is becoming more hybrid than ever.
So McBride's a good pick. I I uh, that's a
good one.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
That's chalcol Look, you're not here to analyze everybody else's pitch.
You're here to make a pick and try to run
me down. So who's your pack? I appreciate the affirmation,
not being nervous that you're going on trial at eleven o'clock.
I got your approval, Thank you. I'm taking Mark Andrews.
You just got an extension that means he's fat and happy.
You don't have no catches down.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
No, you're right you should. No.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
When he scores five pockets Mark Andrews, Mark Andrews against
the Steelers defense, that just does not impress me.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
The Steelers linebackers are slow ish. Uh, their defense isn't
very good. Mike Tomlin. There's a lot of a lot of
noise around Mike Tomlin out in Pittsburgh. And the Ravens
offense has been in a weird spot. They haven't been great.
Lamar doesn't really look right. But I'm just you know,
it was for me kind of picking between Mark Andrews
and a guy in Isaiah Likely who I kind of

(05:16):
hope is in the Vikings in a Vikings, Jersey next year.
So yeah, Mark Andrews would be my pick right here,
right now. Well that mine just never stops, does it?
Never hold on? Though?

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I mean Isaiah likely is in a Vikings uniform or
we ain't like to tell us who's leaving.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
No, no, it's not sign but it's not time. I'll
send you over the cap dot Com and I'll let
you go look on the right side and look at
the tight end who's starting for this team, see what
the cat pit is, and I'll let you sort through
all that.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Merry Christmas, everybody, all right? Uh so we have we
have Dray McBride. Yes, damn, that's a nice pick. We
have Mark Andrews and Nick I'm going to select. I'm
going to select a tight end for the Buffalo Bills
named Dalton Kincaid. And here's why they play Cincinnati. The

(06:08):
Cincinnati Bengals have allowed thirteen tight end touchdowns this year.
That's almost twice as many as anybody else in the NFL.
When when you go against the Bengals defense, tight ends
have caught eighty six passes for one twenty one yards
and thirteen touchdowns. Right behind that, Jacksonville, that's who Indy plays,

(06:28):
almost took Ty Warren eighty four, eight, thirty one and seven.
So since that's that's I hoop in honor of Paul
as in poly Wally charge to him.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, hold on though, what does Alex think about that pick? Yeah,
Dalton Kincan is good. I just don't know if he's healthy. Hey, anyway,
what he might is he like questionable or something? Is
he really? He might be out? He might be out.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Like I said, I'm taking Dawson Knox. Okay, we're making
a pick change here?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Isn't that the former Gophers hoopster? I have no idea?
How is Brevin span four?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
I'm taking Dawson Knox if he had a couple of
nice dollars has a touchdown?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Only cow use not those kids? Sky them rode the
bogo first and foremost.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Because now we have a charitable benefactor with us, So
I mean it matters to win with with alec and
or Nordo two thirds of the Friday football Feast. Do
you guys approve of me changing my pick to Dawson Knox?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Well, to anybody? Oh you want to go Josh Oliver,
Well here's the day. Just do you approve of me
changing my pick.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Since there's a charity potentially and people benefit from this.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Absolutely approve of.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
You changing your pill. I'm changing to Ty Warren All right. Okay,
so I'm gonna go to play AS four and AS
four this year. Big deal hasn't done anything in a month.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
You didn't want to go, Hockinson?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Uh, well, I mean TJ has two touchdowns in his
last twenty five regular season games, so probably to skip
that one.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
And I love TJS all right.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I hop in on a apall tight ends the lead,
Ty Warren, the one right behind him, Alec Lewis, Mark
Andrews Nordo, right behind us, Trey McBride, and that leads
us to welcoming in the person all the way to
the right. Somebody we've we've known for a while through
Fantasy Football Weekly, the Saturday radio show.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Can we get a witness and a.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Rockus round of applause for Scott Fish, Ladies and gentlemen.
Scott Fish joins us nine to noon. Scott, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Brother?

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Hello? Hello, Hello, and good morning.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
What's what's the best way to describe professionally what you do?

Speaker 4 (08:35):
I don't know that there's the best way. I do
a lot of stuff. I'm a fantasy football analyst, but
many years ago I decided to add a terrible, teritable
element to everything I do, And so I founded a
charity in the fantasy space, okay, and made that a
part of basically everything I do. I run charity tournaments,
I do lots of analysis on lots of different stations.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
All right, And Scott can be found via the machine
at Scott Fish two four. Yep at Scott Fish two four.
Please follow him via x for myriad reasons. But Scott
approached me this week, and subsequently if he approaches me,
he approaches us because of the Friday Football Feast trio

(09:17):
as a team, and he said that he would like
to add a charitable tie to the I Hops segment
in honor of Paul, and Scott's worked with Paul for many,
many years. So from there, we now each have attached
a charity to our selections and we're going to take

(09:38):
this through the end of the year. I have fifty
four points, Alan fifty two, nor to forty. Uh So
what led you to doing that, Scott? And like, like,
what is the charit? Like why do you do things
like this?

Speaker 4 (09:51):
So in twenty fourteen I had a heart attack and
it changed the way I looked at everything in the world.
I realized I needed to do good with my platform.
I needed to do everything I do to have purpose, amen,
I needed to be a good role model, be a
good leader, and I added a charitable element to everything
I do. And I started a charity called Fantasy Cares.

(10:13):
And what we do is basically try to inspire people
to do good with this hobby of ours, do good
with fantasy football. I used to tag every show and
for people, tagging means at the end of the show,
this is where you can find me. This is you know,
those kind of things I used to tag every show with.
If you're in a fantasy league, consider giving one of
your entry fees to charity. Your league won't miss it.

(10:34):
There's one hundred thousand fantasy leagues, and if all of
them gave one entry fee to charity, we could do
a ton of good out there.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Yeah, and so so you mean, if we're if we're
in a twelve team or yeah, some lets just get
together with say it's fifty dollars for the season, yep,
and that goes to Fantasy Cares and subsequently too, or.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
To any charity. We don't care. We just want to
inspire you to do good. We don't care where it goes.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Tink about how that adds about nice. Yeah, smart, Yeah,
that's that's that's incredible.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Hey, Scott Fish and Fantasy Caress and for being with
us now a decade and change later after that heart attack. Okay,
so where do we go from here? Like, Fantasy Cares,
what what are you doing to benefit others? We will
share our charities here shortly, sure, but like, is this
just for the winner of ihop or all three teams?

Speaker 4 (11:22):
No? No, it's it's uh fifty dollars per point. There
you guys score whoa sweet fifty dollars per point And
it's we're backdating it to all the points you've scored
this year. So at the at the end of the year,
we'll we'll take how many points you scored, multiply that
bay fifty and donate to the charities of your choice.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Well, my main Cato math is adding up here, and
that's an unbelievable gift.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
It is these charities.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
But we've the Fantasy community has really banded together behind
this charity. We have we have won bunches of awards.
We buy over one hundred thousand dollars of toys for
Toys for Tots every year. I bought nineteen thousand dollars
worth of toys. This more working with the Marines buying
toys for toys for time, so we have lots of
money to be able to do good with it.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
We're at seventy three hundred dollars right now. Yeah, Ay, all.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Right, well, well I need to stop picking bad players.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
That No, that's the moral of this thing.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Outside of outside of the number twenty seven pick. I mean,
you've been trying hard every single week, as have we,
you know, But now right that's just terrific. Seventy three
hundred dollars as of now, and we have five weeks
of this left. So I'll start and hopefully these charities
work out okay with like their.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Requirements and everything differently.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
But Chris finch, coach of the Timberwolves, joins nine to
noon weekly. And when I first met Finchy at the
State Fair like five years ago or something. Very first
time we met him, Nordo and I we both are
about the same age, we're both from the East Coast,
we both love the NBA, and we hit it off
really really well. And He's like, I'll come on your

(13:02):
radio show every single week, and I'm like, what do
you need? And you said nothing like, no cash, nothing
like that, which is okay, cool man. But uh then
then after talking to him more, he's like, well, you know,
I'm on the.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Board of Second Harvest Heartland.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
So when Finchi joins weekly, it's courtesy of Second Harvest
Heartland and two Harvest dot Org. So I'm gonna I'm
gonna in honor of Finchy on a Finchy Friday, I'm
gonna make my charity, Second Harvest heart Land awesome.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Is that cold?

Speaker 4 (13:29):
It's awesome? Okay, Yeah, we we donated two thousand dollars
to them just a couple of months ago. Wow, definitely.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
What about you the con Well, similarly, it's it's actually
a similar type of entity. Feed my Starving Children in
shan Hassen is a spot that, uh well, that place
multiple times a year. I take my kids there. It's
really important to me that my kids kind of see
the value of work as it pertains to the finished product.

(13:57):
And it's a great spot, easy for the kids to
help and and have an absolute blast while doing so.
So I've just been a big supporter of Feed my
Starving Children in that organization for a number of years.
That's gonna be the charity that that I'm battling for.
And Trey McBride is going to help out this week.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Yeah that's nice. I love that place.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
It's Jan Hassen, like you said, in order, lives in
Chasca Meed and Prairie. And I'm sure you've done this
with your kids multiple times. Yeah, going to the facility
and filling the bags and the buckets and yeah back
in the food over like two hours. I mean that
that is an unbelievably cool endeavor for younger kids.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
My kids have been there as well, and it's.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Like a backpack adventure for the kids. You know.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
It helps a lot of people, but not only something
to do. It's for good and it's fun to do.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
No, they have fun and in the end, the ability
to donate money if you can, that's tremendous. And the
money goes specifically that's the key here. Unlike some organizations,
the money will actually go to the finished product, which
is food for kids. But I think sometimes if you're
able to put that work in a little sweat equity,
there's some music playing, the kids sing songs and have fun.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
I think it's awesome.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
So this is this is a super cool hook mister Fish,
I have to appreciate you being part of this.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yeah, are you? Are you going with the Keep the
Athletical Live Fund?

Speaker 1 (15:13):
I'm just kidding shots to me today at least.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
I can do. No, It's okay. John Krasinski and Michaelriss
are keeping the Athletical Uh No, my uh charity because
we do the Friday football Feast and it has the
Viking spent to it. I'm gonna go with the Kyrie
Jackson Foundation. So his parents, his parents, uh, Raymond and Ebony,

(15:38):
spent a lot of time with them last year, definitely
before the playoffs, and they they've started a foundation in
his name, wroteople to support they they started a foundation
to support funding scholarships for young kids, football camps, stuff
like that in in kind of the Baltimore area. So

(15:59):
just that family and spending time with them and knowing
what they've gone through and how much they want to
use what he stood for to give back. For me,
that's the spot I will go. So the Kyrie Jackson Foundation,
they're great, wonderful, They are great people and obviously have
been through a lot.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
And by the way, the website helping us in benefactor
like fashion led by Scott Fish fantasycars dot Org, fantasycars
dot Org bookmarket, learn more about it. If you're so inclined,
give to help others and you can learn a lot
more about what they do Fantasycares dot Org.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
One thing we routinely do at fantasycares dot org is
the way we raise money is through campaigns, So when
you donate to us, you potentially get something out of it.
Right now, one of our campaigns going is twenty five
days twenty five jerseys. So if you donate twenty five
dollars to that campaign, we draw for as signed it
jersey every single day in December, and you have a

(16:57):
chance at winning a jersey with your twenty five dollars lagination.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
If I donate twenty five dollars, can you just help
me with my fantasy team?

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Is there is there a I could probably? Is there
an aspect of that for one hundred dollars?

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Can you tell me why my team is just absolute trash?

Speaker 4 (17:12):
I could probably do that too. I think you're good
this week with McBride though, that's my top ranked guy
this week.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
No, that's sweet. Fantasycares dot Org. Great stuff, Thank you, Scott,
appreciate it now. As part of this.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
I mean that this sounds like a full time venture
in itself. In the end, you still are analyzing, right fantasy.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
I mean, when do you sleep?

Speaker 4 (17:30):
My brother barely barely.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
I work a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
So in terms of uh, let's let's do this from
a fantasy standpoint, since you have you.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
See tight ends this weekend fantasycares dot org.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
That's kind of what I where I was going with
this is from a fantasy standpoint, specifically with tight ends.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
You knew who we.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Selected, uh, and of course one game in the books
already from last night. But but what are you looking at?
Maybe at the tight end position this weekend? For those
that you know are like me, I got I think
it's Juwan Johnson to the sitts. I'm having to roll
with no wonder your team is doing what the Kittle's
on a bye week.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
He's about ready to win that Arks league. Man.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
But the but but what are we looking at from
the tight end spot this weekend?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Well, with your pick. Your three picks were great. By
the way, all three of those players are in the
top six in my rankings this week. If you're looking
for something a little bit deeper, I think Darren Waller
could end up being a league winner. He's only played
five games.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Wondered about he has came back to right, Yeah, last.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Just came back last week. He's got in those five games,
he's got five end zone targets, four touchdowns, fifteen percent
target share, and in those five games two has only
thrown it into the end zone eight times. Five of
them were to Waller. So when they get down there,
it's Waller time. The other one that it might be
a little deeper, might be on your you know, waiver wire.

(18:47):
Brenton Strange top five matchups every week for the next
four weeks.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
I could have taken him, Yeah, dude, really.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Good matchup against the Colts and he actually gets in
the Colts twice. Your your championship game in week seventeen
and this week.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
What happened to Johnny Munt.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
I thought he was going from the league's best third
tight end to the league's best second tight end in Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
I think Johnny Utt will always be the league's number
thirty best tight end. That's that's this one. I like
Johnny Mutt and I think maybe he could use Johnny Mutt.
But Britain Strange that guy Britain. Strange has been good
for the Jags, and the Jags offense since they acquired
Jacoby Myers has kind of transformed.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
So yeah, Strange scored last week. The week before he
had ninety plus yards. He didn't score, but there was
a play where Trevor Lawrence rolled out and he hit
Parker Washington in the back of the end zone. Strange
was right in front of him. He could have hit
him for a.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Damn there, Scott. Anything else we need to know before
we say goodbye?

Speaker 4 (19:39):
I can't give one more deep deep tight end of course.
Uh gunner helm for the gunner Helm for.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Runner helm Tennessee Titans. That's like that Gophers rookie tight
end who played for Seattle. It wasn't on my game
calling depth chart and he came in and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Who know.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Yeah, And this guy's kind of going under the radar.
He has nineteen targets in the last three games. He
doesn't have a ton of yards, but those will come.
He's getting the volume. He's getting tons of looks from
cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
And and this this week, with that Browns defense, with
that pass rush, they might have to throw a short
a lot to him.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
I I am not tit for tech guy, but on
behalf of the Friday Football Feast, I slash. We just
donated five hundred dollars to Fantasycaars dot Org.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
So much.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
It's the least we can do for you, thinking of
us man. And so this this ten k or whatever
that feed my starving children, second Harvest Heartland and the
Kyrie Jackson Foundation. You're gonna get covenex laps give it
up for him, man, Thank you. That's what the feast is,
the philanthropic feast. Stop fish Scott fish too for vax
Fantasycaars dot Org.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Fikes Bites are next on.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Okay, eh ay, and all right, executing the toil from

(21:22):
the crowd. What's going on? Everybody? Porn A radio has
come to the crowd. Hold on here, what's your name?
And where are you from?

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Eden Prairie? Oh you don't want to say your name.
I'm Hannah. What's it like being a Vikings cheerleader? Best
job in the world?

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Hey, for the Vikings cheerleaders? How about that best job
in the world. And I'm not gonna argue. So here's
what we do. Vike's bites comes to the crowd when
we're at Buffalo Wild Wings Rill and Barb, and today
we are at Buffalo Wild Wings Savage. I have some
vikes bites related questions for alec and or Nordo. But

(21:58):
if anybody has a vikings question that you would like
to pose to Mad Producer or Alex Lewis, put your
hand up and fire any question you want, and I'll
come over there and find you by the way. Each
and every weekday. Bikes bites provided.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
By Thousand Hills Lifetime Grays grass Fed.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Be oh wait my man here did it do it again?
Provided by who Thousand.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Hills Lifetime Grays grass Fed. Be Yeah with me Clearwater
Minnesota's finest beat. Okay, re Generat of Agriculture. It's all good,
Thousand Hills style with bites bikes. Okay, if you got
a question, put your hand up. The announcer will come
find you.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
We're gonna begin bikes bikes like this alec and Or
Nordo with Washington quarterback Jaden Daniels going full in practice yesterday,
and I still personally think it's quite dicey that he's
gonna play, but he went full in practice yesterday. If
Jaden Daniels off this layoff does play, how will it

(23:01):
impact the game in good morning?

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Well, I'm curious because good morning.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
The limitations of his running in twenty twenty five certainly
a step back in the games that he has.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Played versus what we saw a year ago.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Do they really want to risk him if he's just
cleared for contact with that elbow, to put him out there.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
I think it's insane if they do.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
But the kid wants to play, and somebody's got to
step in and stop him, frankly, but all the same,
if he does go, If you look statistically Alec for
the most part, you're seeing a similar completion percentage, you're
seeing yards per attempt. I actually think Mariota has done
a pretty good job in terms of trying to emulate
the best he could what they want to accomplish offensively.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
With Washington, he just makes a ton of mistakes and
gives the ball away.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
I think you're gonna see if Jaden Daniels plays a
guy that's a little more judicious and smart with the football,
and the athleticism clearly is different. Although Mariota likes to run,
he certainly is a step up in class to what degree.
Still kind of again based on that injury. How much
do they let him let it loose? But it's certainly
a guy that's gonna turn the ball over less and

(24:06):
I think he can make some throws that Mariota could
only dream of.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Yeah, it's kind of nuts, but I think he's gonna play.
I really do. And he is to your point, he's
a better decision maker, he's more accurate, he plays in
rhythm better. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they do
kind of a two package type deal where Mariota's in
for some quarterback run game in the red zone. This

(24:29):
is a very creative Washington offense. So it's gonna it's
gonna push Brian Flor's unit to be really good on Sunday.
I believe that regardless of who's playing the position. And
then I expected to be Jayden.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
I mean did they did they have to kind of
handcuff him in the pocket though, I mean given the
elbow bit.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Like or if he's cleared.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
I mean again, that's part of the conversation that leads
into him being cleared is how are they gonna let
him be himself in that spot?

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Great question, and we have KFA and shirts for those
who ask questions, and the first is going to be,
what's your name?

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Where you're from? Wayne from Savage? All right, got your shirt? Brother?
What's the question? If JJ is not the answer, what's
what are we gonna do?

Speaker 1 (25:09):
If mccarth We're gonna let Nordo answer that one simply
because that's part of the that case is going to
be tried. Yeah, about twenty minutes from now, it will be.
That's all we can say. Take it where you want the.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Con Yeah, Aleck Aleck Lewis had has an answer for you,
and you're gonna get that during the eleven AM segment.
If JJ is not the guy, I think, and I
personally don't believe that that question is going to be
answered in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I think, whether it's good, it's bad, it's ugly.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Over these final five, he's still going to be on
our roster, he's still going to be competing for his
starting role next season, but at some point a decision
would have to be made if he's not the guy.
It's a combination for me of at some point you're
gonna have a veteran, probably sooner than later, that competes
for that job, and then you're gonna have to go
back to the well. You will have to draft high
and take another swing. And that's something this franchise hasn't

(25:58):
done enough of over the last twenty years. Really, is
when they have an opportunity and the guys there, let's
grab that guy that maybe can start in two or
three years. We've been chasing our tails for two decades
at this position, and so I just don't think that
this is a thing that's going to be solved over
the final five. It's not a clear enough answer for you.
I apologize for that. But whether or not he balls out,

(26:21):
he goes free balling, or he fails miserably, he's gonna
be here in twenty twenty six, competing for the QB
one spot.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Vike's bites provided by Thousand.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
Hills Lifetime, Graves, grass Fed, Puffy, what's your name?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Where you're from? Troy from soccerby Hello Troy? What's your question?
Question for Nordo? Being a lifelong Mancato person?

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Okay, Well, would it be like to have your friend
paul in and call a Super Bowl win for the Bikings?

Speaker 2 (26:45):
Oh? Are you kidding me?

Speaker 3 (26:46):
I mean just as a towny, I mean going up
stadium hill and sticking my at one point, I used
to be skinny and I'd stick my hand through the
chain link fence and I'm dapping up Chris Doleman and
Chris and Johnny Randall and Randall mc daniel. Getting to
see Moss making one handed catches and cato during training camp.
It means that this team is really and I want

(27:07):
the Wolves to win titles. I want the Twins to
figure out how to be a real franchise, and want
the Wild the hoisted Cup. This is a team, frankly,
that I am still emotionally compelled by. It would mean
a ton. I mean my kids and my family. That's
real world stuff from a sports standpoint. Seeing a Lombardi
raised for the Purple and Gold. Yeah, I can't even
articulate or fathom what that would look like at this

(27:28):
point to.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Be too amazing. What's your name? Where are you from?
Dylan from Bloomington? Give it to us. What do you
think we should do in the offseason when it comes
to resigning players with expired contracts. You know we have
a lot and we have account spaces lea as well.
You guys got that players with expired contracts? What do
you think that's pretty good. I mean, there are a
lot of players that fit this kind of conversation. One

(27:50):
of them will be Jalen Naylor, and Jalen Naylor's gonna
be a free agent after his rookie contract. I've expected
that he's had a great year. With the costs that
Jordan Addison is probably gonna require, it's hard to expect
that Jalen Naylor would be back. But I personally, this
is my opinion. I would consider moving Jordan Addison and

(28:10):
resigning Jalen Naylor. That's something that I would consider. That'd
be my own opinion. I know that's really bold, that's
really hot, but that's where I am with that. And
then to that question, I mean, there are a lot
of guys. TJ. Hockinson and his contract, Javon Hargrave and
his contract, Ryan Kelly and his contract, Aaron Jones and
his contract. This is going to be a very busy

(28:32):
offseason with a lot of decisions to be made, a
lot of cap massaging to sort through, and we will
get to all those conversations at some point down the line.
And podcast d alex Lewis Show but nine and Nude
will probably be spending an hour every single day on
what might be possible with these guys. So it's a
good question, and uh, we'll talk a lot about it

(28:53):
at some point.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Fridday Football feast. Listen closely, Hey, how you doing? All
you got to do is say hi?

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Hi? Is it a yes or or no? I have
no idea?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Okay, thank you. We're still in the lurch, Alex questions.
You got a question back here?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
What was that? What's your no? Say it again?

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (29:12):
What's your what's your name? Hey?

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Hey, it's Brandon's fortieth birthday. Ladies and gentlemen, I get
a witness in a raucous round of applause.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Happy birthday brother, at birthday, birthday, Brandon. We got time
for one or two more. I saw a night what's
your what's your name? Where you're from? Codyamos L love
your hat? What's your question?

Speaker 4 (29:35):
Do you?

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Do you think j McCarthy is an NFO cowboy? Staring
quite back? If not, who do you think we should
get in the offstagon?

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Let's let's let's keep it to the first part. Is
JJ McCarthy at the end of the equation a National
Football League starting caliber starting quarterback and The only thing
I'll add is something we went through nine to noon
yesterday with Ben Leeber, who played with Drew Brees. And
this is in no way saying JJ McCarthy's going.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
To be Drew Brees what if he does?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
But right, I mean, it took Drew Brees until his
fourth year to not have more interceptions than touchdowns, not
throw fifty six fifty seven percent.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
This thing is hard and it takes time. So that's
the only context I can add. What do you guys,
What can you guys add? The very quick I just
want to reiterate something Nordo said because I believe it
very strongly too, Like if you're making a declaration on
JJ McCarthy through six games as a starter, that to
me is foolish, Like it takes a long time and

(30:39):
a lot of development to assess where a guy is.
And even as we get through these five games, if
JJ McCarthy can stay healthy through these five games, which
is a question onto itself, please, I don't believe at
that point, through eleven games you'd have a full evaluation
of what he can be will be. But to answer
the question to this point, the production is no, we're

(31:00):
close to what you need from a starting quarterback in
the NFL. It doesn't say anything about what it's gonna be.
And that's why each week it's going to be interesting
to evaluate where he is.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Yeah, and just simply enough, he's not an NFL caliber
quarterback yet.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
No, and well, but that doesn't mean he can't be right.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
And you're going on trial next segment for a preposterous
idea that you had during your podcast.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
I'm excited for that trial thing. Last one. What's your name?
Where are you from?

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Carol from man Cato. Hello Carol, what do you have
on your mind?

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Let's go?

Speaker 2 (31:28):
OK.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Just want to send greetings to Adam Feeling and say
thank you for your time, service, and professionalism in Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
If you didn't hear it, we had an ode to
Adam Feeling for his time, his professionalism and performance he
gave two Minnesota Vikings fans for many, many years.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Roundup applause for at one nine.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
That's southern Minnesota sensibilities right there. I appreciate that. Mike's
bys provided by Thousand Hills Lifetime, grays Grass Fed give
me your best ten seconds. We're going to go back
and forth here.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
On these alec First ten seconds is Christian Darras saw
the most important player on the team.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
I'll say Justin Jefferson's the most important player on the team,
but Christien's probably number two.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Nordo, who would you rather have? And why the kicker?
Will reikerd or Dallas? Mister automatic? Brandon Aubrey twenty seven
of twenty nine this year with a sixty five.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Long Well, our guy's been just a statistically good special.
I'm not a role type guy, but I would pick
Rikerd absolutely every day of the week over mister Aubrey.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
And lastly for Alec Lewis thirty seconds on this thirty
For those who have read it and don't completely understand it,
what does all of the with JJ McCarthy, all of
the let it lose free ball in you know, we're
mechanics to the side until the offseason, Like, what does
all of that mean?

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:52):
I think it's just like enough of putting clutter in
this guy's head and just let him go out and
do the thing that he's done since he was a
kid and rip it like you're not. JJ said this
yesterday and it's something that I mean, I know has
been talked about on the afternoon shows a lot, but
you can't change your swing on Friday of the Masters,
like you enter the tournament and you're in the tournament.

(33:13):
You gotta play with what you've got. That Does that
mean it's gonna be perfect on Sunday? I don't think
it's going to mean that. But does that, you know,
removing the clutter from his mind allow him to play
free and allow in December? By the way, right, it's
it's it's definitely an interesting one. But if he's inaccurate,
then you can you can understand that they would they

(33:34):
were trying to do what they could to get him
to be accurate. I mean, we'll see look like am
I do I expect this new shift in ideology to
now make JJ McCarthy look like Tom Brady? No, I
do not. Does it allow him to play with reaction instinctive? Hopefully,
hopefully we'll see free balling.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Those are vikes fits. This is nine to noon and
we're back after this. A Buffalo Wild wing Savage thanks
everybody for me and so kind. He Wolve's got the

(34:12):
money last night against the New Orleans Pelicans. Yeah, the
Minnesota Wild have the audacity to lose a hockey game
for the years they lose to the Calgary Flames for one,
and both those teams will be back in action relatively soon.
That's how the NBA and the NHL worked. Vikings and
Commanders Sunday at noon k f a m. Last night,

(34:35):
the Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys at Ford Field.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Alex, what'd you think of that Lions victory last night? Yeah,
the Lions. It was a good night for the Lions.
I didn't think their defense was spectacular, but offensively they
really had it going. I was surprised am and Ro played,
don't think he even practiced during the week, and then
had a huge catch to Iceed. Jamir Gibbs does what
he does. Thought. David Montgomery looked really fresh and really good,

(35:02):
and the offensive line held up enough. So it was
a good win for the Lions at home. They really
needed the win. I think they're eight and five now,
mm hmm. But the defense, it sounds like Brian Branch
might have an achilles injury. Terry on Arnold's done for
the season. Oh wow, they still haven't gotten Kirby Joseph back.
They haven't gotten Kirby Joseph back. DJ Reid had a
nice pick, but that defense is just gonna. It's just gettable.

(35:25):
And their offensive line and the interior is not what
it's been. And and I also don't think from a
to not have Ben Johnson from a brain perspective orchestrating
the offensive operations just not the.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Same team to help me with this because I didn't
watch the game. Why is George Pickens getting slaughtered on
social media? Were they're like obvious things he did last
night just not.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
A ton of I mean, Norda, if you watched that,
you saw probably.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Just didn't look like there were two or three in
particular that were glaring as if he was absolutely going
through the motions the way that you know, maybe you
would have laughed twenty years ago. Go about Moss on
an obvious run play where the.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Ball is snapped and he just kind of chills.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
A red hot team that just beat the Chiefs and
came back and beat the Eagles, and the other guy's problem.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
The other thing is ceedee Lamb goes out of the
game with the concussion. Ye, it's George Pickens opportunity at
that point to stamp I am the number one guy,
I am the focal point. You can't double team me,
and it felt like, you know, whereas Justin Jefferson with
a lot of these double teams, uses that kind of
as fuel and knows how to it felt like that
kind of forced George Pickens just out of the game

(36:31):
and shut him down. And it was kind of an
interesting reflection of for me of like, you know, Justin
Jefferson and how he navigates that stuff is worth complimenting
because you see other guys just it totally removed them
from seemingly the mental frame of the game.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Nord, are you first on this big NFC North a
collision this weekend Chicago at Green Bay Packers favored by six?

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Who do you like? And why? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (36:56):
I just a you know, fraudulent. Maybe might be too heavy.
There's a lot of fraud in the air these days locally.
But we're talking about the Chicago Bears for a moment
and a top the NFC as they are. I just
don't think well done. I don't think they stay there.
And the Packers impressed me. If they didn't have the injuries,
I'd still be talking about Detroit as the team of
the North. I think the Packers are gonna steamroll the

(37:18):
Bears in some regard, and a big part of that
is what you're seeing, specifically defensively, what they're able to
get out of that front and hide and mask some
of the deficiencies in terms of takeaways on the back
end defensively but offensively, I just have to give them
credit for finding their way through injuries and all of
that along the way.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
I think the Packers roll. Yes, it's a fascinating game.
With Ben Johnson took the job, he said he loved
beating Matt Lafleur twice a year in Detroit. Kind of
a weird little shot at Matt Lafleor So there will
definitely be some extra juice in this game. I feel
like Jordan Love is playing phenomenally right now. Kirsten Watson

(37:57):
with that offense has really kind of opened it up
a little bit. And then the Bears run game is
beautiful to watch. I mean, what their front is doing,
the motion, the scheme. Like Caleb Williams, I don't feel
like has played incredible, but that run game has hoisted

(38:17):
that team offensively on its shoulders. And it's not a
surprise you talk you hear about from players inside that
locker room. They talk about how Ben Johnson leads the
run installs. How he has passion as he's installing the
run game. How he makes it fun as he's installing
the run game. And so I kind of would expect
a pretty close game. But I'll take the Packers as well.
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
And lastly, you're the you are the elite college football
mind in this covenant. Such a good weekend, Indy at
Ohio or Indiana Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Ohio State's favored by four.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Not asking you for a wagering bench on this, but
how do you or are You can offer one if
you want, but how do you see the game?

Speaker 2 (38:55):
And why? Yeah, if this game is close, if Indiana
can keep it close, to me, it will only further
the amount of respect and appreciation that you have for
Signetti and Mendoza and that entire team. But Ohio State,
the talent that they have is absurd. The defense has potentially,
I don't know, three first round picks. The offense has

(39:18):
multiple first round picks. They kind of look like Georgia
prospect lies.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Remember Georgia with historical numbers of people drafted over that
two to three year stretch.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
That's kind of Ohio State right now. Yeah, I mean,
Caleb Downs to safety is an unbelievable player. Rvel Reese
the edge rusher is incredible. Julian saying their young quarterback
is one of the best college football, most refined, precise,
accurate college football quarterbacks that I've seen in a long time.
So I would not be surprised if Ohio State wins
by double digits. All right, oh go ahead.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Well, it's just it's crazy in that matchup because as
a Gophers fan, I'm watching a team that was non
competitive on the road and specifically non competitive against some
big timers. But you know, Indiana rolling the team's that
they're supposed to and even stained I mean, staying is
close and finding ways to win the others.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
That is the only thing that keeps me from.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Thinking, Wow, this is a double digit this is so obvious.
In the Buckeyes, I do think they win, but Signetti,
I mean, just most impressive thing, and maybe in college
football right now the two year stretch that we've seen
from the.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
Hoots, and I will say, big game for the quarterback
in Indiana as he's trying to establish that he is
a top five pick. Fernando Mendoza, like against Matt Patricia's defense.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
That's a huge game for him. All Right, you say
amazing weekend in college football. You know a thousand times
more about it than me. Third rank Georgia tenth Alabama.
That's tomorrow at three o'clock. What do you think of
that one?

Speaker 2 (40:40):
I mean, look, I'm an Alabama side of that. What's huge? Well,
it's just EYU Texas Tech. What's the BYU? Texas Tech
is a great game. It's five and eleven, right, it's
a Texas Tech is a really talented team. Tonight you've
got North Texas against Tulane. Eric Morris's North Texas squad
with Drew asked the maker at quarterback. I'm going one.

(41:03):
We could go real deep here from the college football perspective,
but I don't want it. Georgia Georgia Alabama. I mean
I don't really get tired of it, but a lot
of people understandably do. What's the name of that rivalry?
Does it have a name?

Speaker 1 (41:15):
No, it's just so the cocktail party bit is Georgia Florida.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
It's cocktail Parties Georgia, Florida, Iron Bowl, Alabama Auburn. But
I call the Georgia Alabama the excellent smatchup. It's just
two really good, really well coached teams. Is it a base?

Speaker 3 (41:28):
I mean, how many times does this happen for the
for the SEC title?

Speaker 2 (41:32):
A lot of times and all of the other annual
thing you just chalk it up on the calendar. Yeah,
all the other SEC fans are really tired of it,
and I don't blame them.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
All right, that's what's happening this weekend, along with Minnesota
Vikings football Coming up next, a member of this panel
is going to be put on trial in what we
call Covenant Quorch. That begins the final hour from Buffalo
Wild Wing Savage.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
