So ay Pablito note of Diablo and lascadetas.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Good morning, Alec, phenomenal. Are you telling me.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
It's five o'clock here? So, I mean we've had a
full day of very hard work out here by the
by the pool in Majorca.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah, I'm I'm so happy for you and and for
the marketing director and and here's why. Now, this is
Alec Lewis with the Athletic Theathletic dot com. This will
be our Steve's Appliance's Marathon segment for the day. Steves
provides us with Alec Lewis during the course of the
football season and to Steve's Appliances is second to on.
(01:00):
So if you need appliances, go to Steve's Appliances dot com.
Sarah and Brian, you know we love you. So the
reason it's how much fun are you having in Spain.
And what makes me really really happy for you specifically
is after that week and a half in Ireland and
in London. Well, I mean there are jobs to do.
(01:23):
So yes you can hit pubs, Yes you can have
fish and chips, Yes you can go to certain places,
but at the end of the equation, there still are
jobs to be done. You're you're after all that you're
vacationing in Spain and it's the bomb, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah, It's not really something that I would normally do.
I mean, it's not. I don't. I don't know if
you know, but I just don't. I'm not really I
don't spend that much time in Spain. I'm usually in
my Minneapolis apartment watching All twenty two. But it was like,
you know, this this stretch I was saying to somebody
this morning over text this or I guess this morning
be in the middle of the night for you, like
(02:01):
this stretch of going back to the beginning of spring
spring training, of training camp and and just the amount
of narrative and hype around this team and JJ and
the whole deal, and then going through the first four
weeks and five weeks of this season, including the injuries
and everything like it just felt like, I mean, this
(02:22):
was a time where you just gotta you gotta put
it up and get off the grid for a second
and recharge. So it's been, it has been. It's been great.
It's been awesome to be here. Come back Saturday. And
if you see me next week and I look like
I haven't slept, you'll understand why.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Okay, So in your era abode, your your hotel, and
something called my Yorkup, Alex Lewis is in Spain. So
I and we are being led to believe here that
you have not cracked open the All twenty two one time.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
I have not watched the All twenty two of the game.
It's I thought about it earlier today. I'm not even kidding,
but you know, I mean, it's it's seventy five degrees.
I mean, I'm on the Bye Laric. I don't know
how to bronounce it, but by Laric Islands or something.
So I just don't think that was something I should do.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Is the is the sangria there in Spain better than
over here.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Best sangrea, best drink I've ever had. It's dangerous. Like there,
I was sitting by the pool earlier, knowing that I
was gonna be on with you, and I'm like, I mean,
but that's Sangree is retently kind of calling the name.
I was like, but I need to probably hold off
because I might say some stuff i'd regret right my past.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Well, yeah, but see you, by admission, you drink a lot.
So therefore one or two sangreea is probably not going
to tilt the old the old slerometer, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yeah, by admission, I don't know if i'd admit if
I've admitted that publicly, usually you're you're admitting it for me,
I'm not. But it was, I mean, you you know this,
And and I talked to parents and friends and everything,
like being in Dublin and being in London in for
those games was something I think I'll look back on
finally forever. But in the moment, as you're driving on
(04:07):
a bus four hours a day to the Hanbury Manor
and eating nine hundred raising scones, I mean, it was,
it was. It was a lot for a lot of
different people, for a lot of different reasons. So yeah,
there there's some there's some times there you need to
recover a little.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Bit Okay, so post Ireland and London, A Lou. I mean,
are you really able to appreciate just how excellent this is,
taking a trip with no game on the horizon, or
were you kind of strong armed into it by the
marketing director.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
See as she's sitting here near me listening to me.
She look, there was a a what do you call it,
you know, negotiation going on. Uh some Rob Razinski, Emily Battis.
You know you're having to work through agents situation. I mean,
there's a lot going on, but it was a compromise
(05:00):
that I am grateful that I made. But yeah, I mean,
look here's the other thing. It's like, you know, she
told me that, you know, after the game Sunday on
Monday morning, we're gonna have to wake up at four
am and get to my Orca. I mean, you can
imagine my reaction of knowing I had to do another
travel you know, trip, check more bags, stand the air
for it. It's it's it's it's you know, it's a lot.
(05:23):
But it's been great to be here. I'm very grateful
for it.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Okay, so you fly home from Spain Friday, right.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Saturday. Actually, I'm really pushing it close to the Monday
Kevin O'Connell pres Conors, but I'll be there.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Well, yeah, I mean it's it's when it when it
comes to flights getting home, you know the the generally speaking,
the airlines provide their best when their best is required.
So I don't think you have anything about which to worry.
Uh now heading that way, because I the the it
took nine hours three minutes for our charter to get
(05:56):
back home, and wow, I mean bursuch. You know, we
all were just ogroggy and like when we landed and
before we get onto the buses to the team facility,
it's all quiet and there and burst it's just dead pans.
I may never get on an airplane again. I always
love that because it was nine hours three minutes. Okay,
(06:16):
I didn't get the math, because it was six twenty
to Dublin. Then it was an hour fifteen Dublin to London,
and I'm like, how does seven thirty or seven forty
become nine?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
So we flew in.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Go ahead, doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Well, we flew into significant headwinds and generally speaking, that's
the way the wind goes. So just be prepared from
Spain to get back here, you know, and assuming you
don't have any stops in between that it. I mean
it could be a long time, Alec. But you're young,
you're nimble, you're fit, you're thin. I mean, can you
(06:53):
sleep on planes?
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Yeah? I do a little bit of sleep. I do
that thing where you know how you sit around for
you sometimes and they're asleep in their heads, bob in
a little bit and you're like you want to catch
their head. You think it's about his staff, right, I
think I do that a little bit in my sleep.
But yeah, it's really the biggest, you know, conundrum is
Alabama plays Mazoo on Saturday, and I mean it's it's
(07:17):
it's I mean it's a high level college football game.
Maszoo is undefeated. So you know, whether Delta has TV,
that's my concern on the nine and hour, nine and
a half hour trip, and then recovering for that press
commerce to ensure that my questions are provided in the
high red are I mean, that's really where my mind
turns after that.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
How excited is the marketing director for this interview to
be over?
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Uh? Probably we're supposed to, she says, super Yes, She's
we're we're supposed to go to Palma be downtown Palma
and Myorca Palma downtown Palma. I don't know if you're familiar,
but it's nice.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
What you're gonna do?
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Do do they have casinos where you can throw some
dice in the air and waved the marketing director's hands
like she just doesn't care?
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Did you write that one this morning?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I know, but I heard the marketing director giggle, so
it's clear that that she she's excited to get to
Palma and Az.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Are you all right?
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Let's rattle through some serious business. Okay, what I've read
your stories? The most recent one Alec has at the
Athletic basically encapsulates being in Ireland in London for a
week and a half and just kind of some cool
nuance to it. What what did you think of the
win against the Browns?
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yeah, that was a fascinating day. The entire just experience
of it was was very interesting. I thought a couple
things in the moment. I thought, it's probably one of
Kevin O'Connell's best game plans that he's ever put together,
being the head coach of this team. I mean, you
probably felt it more earlier than than in the middle.
(08:57):
And then you felt it obviously on the game winning drive,
but just so much pocket movement, quick quick passing game
thought some of the runs hit pretty early. I mean,
you're playing with offensive linemen and positions they've never played,
an offensive lineman who've never played, and so to be
able to move the football in any capacity with the
(09:18):
backup quarterback against a defense that is going to end
up being by the end of the season one of,
if not the best, in the NFL like that, to
me was very impressive. And then I rattled through just
after the game. I mean the toughness of Carson Wentz.
I will see, like over the next few days and
in the next week, the severity of the shoulder injury,
(09:40):
but I mean, for that guy to play through what
he did was very impressive to me. And then justin
Jefferson obviously, I mean, he leads this whole thing and
makes it all go. But you just I said this
like weeks ago, but watching him get getting to watch
him play on a week to week basis in person
is something that I am beyond thankful for because he
(10:01):
is a special dude and a special player, and I
felt like he really super charged that entire effort that
obviously ended with Jordan Addison catching the winning touchdown.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
How are you going to feel if today at seven
pm Cornfields the Vikings make a whopper of a trade
and it's two am, MAJORCA time and you're sleeping.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
How are you going to feel about that?
Speaker 4 (10:23):
It would be a little bit stressful. But you look,
when you do this job, you sign up. That's what
you sign up for. So you take the you take
the you get to go to Europe with the You
might have to wake up in the morning and spend
a story. That's just that's part of the job. I
I don't look. I think a lot of people probably
(10:43):
needed some rest coming off the first five weeks. So
I don't know how active on a on a whatever
day it is, Wednesday, Thursday, I expect him to be,
But who knows. Anything could happen.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
I Alex Lewis the Athletic Theathletic dot Com. We were
texting a little bit yesterday and so I asked him
to come on the radio show from Spain and he acquiesced,
much to the chagrin of the marketing director and Alex's
appearances courtesy of Steve's Appliances and Steve's Appliances dot Com.
Now with Winson that shoulder ailment, Carson has a bad shoulder.
(11:17):
He went nine for nine on the game winning drive.
So how significant do you think this malady is? And
would you bet McCarthy leads the charge out.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Of the buy.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Yeah, it's a great question. On the shoulder. I mean,
I like I wrote this, and I don't know if
we talked about this or not, but Tuesday, after the
Steelers game in London, a bunch of the guys played
golf and Carson, who loves golf, I mean, this guy
like he it's like one of his hobbies things he
(11:51):
does all the time. Has wanted to get out the
hazeltine all that stuff. Like, he didn't play because physically
he actually could not swing a golf club enough to
be able to play with all those guys. So he
was feeling it to an immense level entering the game
against the Browns and then to suffer that soldier excuse me,
shoulder injury in that game. Look, I mean, we'll see.
(12:16):
He obviously came back and you mentioned the statistics and
he operated with such efficiency on that final drive. But
just like with JJ, McCarthy in the high ankle sprain.
The adrenaline often can can mask I think just some
of the severity in the moment. So we'll see in
the next week. As for JJ, I mean, it's really
(12:37):
I mean, I could prognosticate at this point, PA and
I'd say with the mixture of Arson's shoulder and JJ
ramping up like it would feel like that's probably the
route that it would go. But Kevin O'Connell has been
very clear from the outset that they want him to
get a full week of practice and to get you know,
his lower half, you know, mechanics throwing the football to
(12:59):
a level that they feel most comfortable with for him
to be back in there, and until that happens, until
he practice fully, and until his mechanics are kind of
rewired to the to the way that they probably were
coming out of training camp. I it's hard for me
to really expect it right now. I guess with the
mixture of JJ working a little bit this week and
(13:21):
then Carson being evaluated with the shoulders, that's probably where
I go right now. But again, I will go back
to this. When you think about the game plan Kevin
put together against the Browns, and obviously there will be
a lot of talk about the Eagles and how good
they are and talented and all that. Like, you got
to feel pretty pretty comfortable that you're going to be
in the fight regardless. Just knowing the systems in place
(13:45):
to put the guy in the right spot. I think
that's that should give some comfort amid all of the
uncertainty at obviously quarterback and everywhere else.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Permission from the marketing director to unferral two maybe three
more questions.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Absolutely, absolutely, Do you.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Believe Justin Jefferson would be in lockstep with a decision
to move forward with McCarthy And does his opinion matter
in this case?
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Yeah? I mean I think Justin. Justin has shown a
willingness to this point, at least publicly, to be okay
with whomever is back there. And it's a trust, it's
a trust factor in the coaching staff, is a trust
in himself, believing that if he gets open, the person
will find them. But yeah, I think Justin would be
(14:35):
comfortable with that. I also like the way that Justin's talked.
I feel like he's really he really appreciated Carson Wentz
coming in with less than a month stepping in and
winning two out of three games, Like, there's an appreciation
level for that. There's also an understanding from a guy
like Justin who is as aware as he is to
know what we all know that JJ McCarthy, it was
(14:58):
never going at his age, given his inexperience, given how
long it had been since he played it in a game,
much less at this speed, like, it was never going
to be perfect through two games, through three games. So
I think Justin understands, because of the conversations he's had
with the coaching staff, that it was going to take time,
that you have to lead your way through it, and Justin,
(15:19):
to his credit, has done that at a level that
I think would be would have very little comparison across
the league from people of his stature and his status
and his talent.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Now, now this will be our last chat for a
week and a half. Then we have Buffalo Wild Wings
at least last public chat Buffalo Wild Wings Friday Football
Friday Football Feast at Buffalo Wild Wings Monticello, A a
week from Friday. That's where I believe it is. So
some things can change. Obviously, you know, before we hooke
up at least on the radios and so let me
(15:51):
let me let me lay this question out with a
right to change the opinion. When I see you a
week from Friday, which wounded players, do you ANTICI to
pay return after the buye or thereabouts.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Yeah, I'd say the couple that come to mind immediately
would be Blake Cashman would be one of them. He's
obviously been on IR with the hamstring. I'm still a
little iffy right now. Just from what I've heard on
Andrew Van Ginkel, it sounds like, you know, they're doing
everything they can to try to pinpoint kind of the
(16:29):
nature of the neck injury that's kind of lingered. I
think Christian Darisol with another week, I expect his workload
to tick back up to where it was, probably around Cincinnati.
I'm trying to think of who all I expect Harrison Smith's.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Workload, Aaron joneses.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Aaron Jones is probably you know, I would expect him
to be limited on the limited on the injury report,
maybe early next week to potentially up. And then Brian O'Neil,
I mean, we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if if
for him coming off the spring MCL like it goes
maybe right past you know, the Chargers game. But again
that guy, you know this gay as well as I do.
(17:13):
I mean, Brian O'Neill is chomping at the bit to
get out there. He was walking around the Hanbury Manor
resort in London to try to get that knee ready.
And it's just a key, you know, folks boy on
the team. But I'd say, if you can get Blake
Cashman back, potentially Aaron Jones, I mean, you really start to,
I mean piece it together. I think defensively the run
(17:35):
game was taken up to with Blake Cashman in there obviously,
and and I really think a week of rest for
the interior and everybody should probably benefit that side. And
Kevin O'Connell's talked about like spending this week wanting to
identify what the identity of this team really is, and
I thought his quote on that has been really astute
(17:57):
and also telling of you know, they as a staff,
they want to sift through how much of what this
first five games has been is a product of the
amount of players we haven't had versus like who we
actually are. And so I think coming out of the buy,
i'd expect them to really lean into a couple of things,
one of them being just the defense continuing to be
(18:20):
the the temple part like part of this team. And
then the run game, Like you look at all the
advanced metrics, they've been pretty freaking good in the run game,
and a lot of that is they byproct to Jordan Mason,
but you get Aaron Jones back in, I think you
feel pretty good about those two aspects, and then you
just hope for development and piecing more together with Jordan
Addison back in the fold from a passing game standpoint
(18:42):
to kind of get this thing to a place that
I think they envisioned prior to the season.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Last one football wise than one on Mayorca? Did you
did you sence into the equation the week and a
half over there? The majority of the team appreciated the
opportunity or was pining to get home and just kind
of gone a little cranky at the end.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Yeah, I felt like early on it was like a
wide eyed this is cool? What is Ireland? What is Dublin?
And I also think one thing I would like to
mention is Dublin and you stayed it like near the
t hotel or at the team hotel that was very
much like in the city, whereas in London for the
London game and spending the entire week there, it was
(19:27):
an hour and a half removed from central London, very
hard to get to the city, very far removed from
family and all that stuff. And so I did feel
like by the end of it, maybe some of the
young guys were still enjoying every aspect of it, but
probably a lot of the Vets guys who were playing
banged up, it was like need want to get home
(19:48):
to my bed, want to get home to my wife,
want to get home like where I recover. And I
felt like that was from you know, players staff a
lot of people around the team and you totally get it.
I mean again, pretty secluded in the English countryside for
an entire week, practicing in in suboptimal conditions like it
(20:09):
was it was. It took a toll. There's no question.
I don't expect any team signs up to do a
multi country trip and back to back weeks anytime soon.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Will you visit Barcelona or maybe San Sebastian.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Have you been to either one of those?
Speaker 2 (20:26):
No, I've never been to Spain. I've been to Blame,
but I've never been to Spain.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
I'm actually I'm actually going to Barcelona tomorrow. I've never
been to Barcelona. I've been old great thing. So yeah,
we're bouncing, uh Majorca to Barcelona and then uh we'll
be flying back to watch football over the weekend. But no,
it's I you haven't been to Spain. It's it's it is.
It's worth the hype. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
It's nice.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
It's America's great too, after being gone for for as
long as I've been, and he gives you appreciation for
how special that place is too.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Okay, So for the marketing director, and it's it's five
thirty five twenty seven Spain time, Ma Yorca time. Uh,
if you're so inclined, research gourmet tapas and Wine tour
in Palma Day.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Ma Yorka.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Okay, it's a gourmet tapas and wine tour Palma Day,
My Yorca. It's close to where you're staying, and I
think both of you would really enjoy it.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
And I'm taking your recommendation even though you've never been here.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
All right, I just well, I yeah, I mean I
googled My Yorca top attractions while you were giving a
long winded answer. I went through six of them, and
this looks best when it comes to when it comes
to multiple species.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Yeah, no, that's look, there was a lot of long winding.
There was one where I almost got lost and I'm like,
it's just something angry anyway, that's kind of how it goes. Now.
I'll let her know as she's, uh, you know, there's
shopping and stuff that's.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Got to be and you know how you are the
best young man. I'll look forward to seeing you next week. Uh,
safe travels. Uh tell Ellen yours to release, says hello
and and hello and enjoy your evening, okay, so and
good morning here and good evening there, all.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Right, and and and good morning? And how is uh no,
thank you for having me always fun And I'll I'll
let you know if we go to the topest place
that you found by a very non investigation.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Alex I said, top os not topless. Okay, if you
if you guys go to a topless place, that's between
you and the marketing director and we don't need to
share that on the radio. It's a family audience. And
how is Pancho Villa?
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Maybe you're the one who I was angry this morning.
All right, thank.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
You, oh Young Alex Young Aleca never flappable. Some are
ever flappable. He's never flappable. Same for Double B Brett
Blakemore's rarely flappable. In fact, he's indefatigable, and his tenacity
(23:06):

Speaker 3 (23:09):
He also has money to give away. And here it is.
This is true.

They play out the San Jose Sharks. Wild dot Com

Speaker 3 (24:18):
That's that.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
That's age old with nine to noon. In fact, I
think it was on t shirts like twenty years ago.
So taking that word faith and tying it into the
Minnesota Wild into the twenty twenty five, twenty twenty sixth season.
This this debuts tomorrow night on KFA and your hockey
audio leader from Saint Louis, Joe O'Donnell and Tom Reid
(24:44):
on the call.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Now.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
But when it comes to when it comes to the
team and the hashtag faith, double B is a noted
Minnesota Wild follower and somebody who pays very close attention
to the program. I'm going to hit him with a
couple of things here. We'll see where it goes. Double B,
Good morning, Good morning. How much faith do you have
(25:08):
in Carill caprice Off being one of the very best
players in the game and why.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Well, he certainly paid like he's one of the best
players in the game. If he can stay healthy, there's
no reason that he can't be in the conversation for
the Heart again.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
I mean, it is that good.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
You're in your hockey prime, which is, you know, your
late twenties and approaching your thirties. He is just a
game changer of a player. And you saw it last
year when when he went down, the team immediately just
plummeted to where they had to sneak into the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
But when he was.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Healthy, they were first place in the league and he
was I think the favorite to win the Heart. So
I have full faith in caprice Off. Barring injury, barring
you know, tragedy which could happen at any point in
time to any player in any game. Barring that, there's
no reason that he can't be in that Heart conversation.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Again, well said, amen, brother, how much faith do you
have in the totality of the Minnesota Wild's blue line? Now,
I know Brodein down. I don't think he's going on
an injured list, but somebody else is. Maybe I got
that wrong, but nevertheless, Brodein is down. So let's just
take the best of the best and put them all
(26:20):
together because eventually, hopefully they'll all be healthy. The blue Liners,
proxy z Z, rodein Z and so on your level
of faith in said blue line.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
I like mid Z, I like fabe Z, buyam Z,
spurge E. I like all of them. And Brodein you know,
he's day to day. They didn't put him on the IR,
which is good news. Probably won't play for a little while,
but he's still not far off. This top four is
really really good. And I'd even go to say, like,
if they end up putting Boom Buoyam on the bottom
(26:56):
line with Pegosian, that's fine by me. We still don't
really know what Uracheck is gave him a first round
pick for him. I am ultra confident. I think that
might be the most well. I like Gus too. I'm
so so confident in the defensive student right now, in
the way that they can play.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Spurgees. You said, yes me.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Your hashtag faith in head coach John Hines.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
You know, I to be honest, I don't really have
a good enough I mean, we have a big sample
size of him. I mean I'm gonna nitpick the lines
because that's what I like to do because I like
to see the young guys get a chance. And I'm
a little annoyed but understand what he's doing with the
lines as they are right now. But I also think
that he's good at the matchups and he's good at
getting the right lines out there and getting his shut
(27:48):
down lines. I think it's not just as simple as
he puts out the lines and then well that's it.
You know, we'll watch the game. So I I really
don't have a I'm not a heines get him out
of here guy, I'm not even close to that. But
I'm not really a giant defender. I think he's good
and I think there's no reason that this team can't
win with him as the coach.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Double b your faith in Zee Boyum, who's into his
second year.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
I really like Seve. I like Seeve a lot. He's
got so much potential. He's quarterbacking the power play, which
you just love to see. Hopefully that transpires tomorrow. I
would really like to see him giving that chance because
I was worried that this coaching staff were kind of
out on him once they benched him in the playoffs. Thankfully,
(28:34):
he's still getting his shot. He's got skill, he's got speed,
He's in my opinion, defensively responsible, not a liability. I
love seeing young guys get a chance, and he's the
next one. They essentially ran to the podium to get
Bulliam because they felt he fell to them. So very
happy and I can't wait to see what he does tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Faith and goal.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Who scores more goals than why Zee Boyum or brock Faith.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
I actually think it will be Zeve and it's not
like a shot at brock Favor, I know, but favored
in that equation. I like Zev just by virtue of
being on the power play. Although he doesn't shoot that
much in the power play, but I think that's gonna
net him a little more offensive opportunities. I think Favor
he takes his shots from the points, but I think
(29:23):
I don't really see his like best strength as goal scoring.
Offensive producing and goal scoring are two different things. I
would say goal scoring isn't his best attribute. He's still
really good at it, and I love brock Favor.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Don't get me wrong, all.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Right, Faith, The Minnesota Wild absolutely will make the postseason.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
I think they're at least a lot and that would
be my bet if you would let me in the
next segment. I think they make the playoffs. Barring at
caprice Off injury, they make the playoffs comfortably. Now, it
is a very tough Central Division, you know. And but
I hesitate to say that too because like, for instance,
last year, the Predators made all these moves and we thought, oh,
(30:05):
here they go, They're really going for it, and they stunk.
So we really just don't know until we get, you know,
a month or two into the season, how it's going
to go. But barring injury to caprice Off, really and
that's it, I have faith pretty much on the depth
everywhere else in this team, uh, barring an injury to him,
I think they make the playoffs comfortably. And the question is,
(30:26):
and I'm sure you're gonna ask at some point, do
they get out of the.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
First round time for two more?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Do you have faith said squad will win a playoff
series for the first time in a decade.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
I have optimism that they that they win a playoff series. Well,
that's the million dollar question of this franchise really as
long as they've been a thing. I have optimism, I
have hope. Do I have faith? I am just at
a spot where I need to see it to believe it, unfortunately, which.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Sucks I understand, but I have hope if and or
when it happens, you'll be like, yes, you'll be a
walking trumpet of Blase.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
All right.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Lastly, if they play five games in the first round
and take an L.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
That's about. Lastly, faith and goal.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Faith in Matt Boldy and what we should expect from
him this year.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, it's interesting because he's starting on the top line
with Zugarella being out, so that's going to be him.
Rossie Capriso is going to be a you know, a
juggernaut of a line. My question is where does the
scoring come from on the other lines. If that line's
not going, you know, we got to have something. I
hope that Boldie, when Sucrella gets back, gets his own line,
maybe with Eck, maybe with eure Off, maybe with Ogrin,
(31:50):
have some offensive capability and they can be that secondary scoring.
I think he's good enough to do that. We found
out last season. I don't think he's good enough to
be the guy to carry the team offensively on his back.
I think when he tries too hard to be the guy,
it seems like he's almost you know, the classic gripping
the stick too hard. I think when he's an ancillary,
(32:11):
the pressure's not on him and he's you know, the
number two, the Scottie Pippen to Carill's Michael Jordan.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
I think he's really good. Scottie Pippin, former NBA player.
The reference I know caught me off guards. Okay, uh,
coming in claps for me, Bud. You did a really,
really really good job with that.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
So excuse me while I whip this out.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
You ready over there? We're ready.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
We have a is it two tickets plus the Faith
and Family bit? That that is my understanding. Okay, call
now eight hundred three two zero five three two six
eight hundred three two zero five three two six. We
are giving away tickets to Faith and Family Day in
the game against the San Jose Sharks October twenty six,
Double b at the Helm eight hundred three two s
zero five three two six eight hundred three two zero
(33:02):
five three two six back after this. Well, you got
a teammate over there, don't you, miss Kara Sabage.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
You can still call in right now one hundred three
to zero five three two six.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
You got a handful to give away.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
What we still have more faith in Family, Wild Sharks
ticket packages to give away.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
We're just spreading them out.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
The phone lines have been jammed ever since we went
to a break last segment.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
So am I missing something here? We got ten of
those suckers to give away?
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Well, I know we got six. We got six phone lines.
I know we're working our way through them. Okay, So
Kara is taking all of the appropriate information. Yeah, okay,
I see. So you got rules in everything like people
haven't one and previously in X amount of of that
whole thing, right, Yeah, I get it. Yes, well, Kara,
thank you for the help, Double B, thank you for
(33:59):
the help today. And by the way, nine to noon
at eleven o'clock Vikings talkbacks, excuse me? Three to two,
nine to noon at eleven o'clock.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Excuse me, while I wish this house.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Talk backs really really to to two toned?
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Uh, Tommy two toned?
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Where it's the Vikings related talkbacks always welcome in the
love Governant, Like who do you want to be the quarterback?
And why when they come back? Who do you want
to be the quarterback? And why where do we go
from here? Off the three and two record? Where do
we go from here? Off the three and two record,
and also off the off the last segment where Double
(34:46):
B did a really good job laying some things out
faith and goal and what's your what is your level
of faith the wild will have a successful season, and
what's your definition of successful in this case?
Speaker 3 (35:00):
For them?
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Now, that's the free iHeart Radio app. It's the free
iHeart Audio App. We're gonna call it iHeart Audio App,
even though iHeartMedia and iHeart Radio still calls it iHeart
Radio App. We're ahead of the curve here. It's the
It's the iHeart Audio App. Download and listen. Now you
find a baby microphone by the by the kfan thing,
(35:24):
I mean, excuse me, kfam bit and you got You
can unfurl with whatever you want for yours, truly involving
the Minnesota Vikings, but can include, while not being limited to,
who do you want the quarterback to be?
Speaker 3 (35:39):
And why? Where do we go from here?
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Off the three and two record, what's your level of
faith the wild will have a successful season? And what
exactly is your definition of successful in this individual case?
Can I get a witness via the talk back Covenant? Amen?
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Brother?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Meanwhile, I replake more producers today and whenever he's around.
We like to do Brett's bits and bets or Brett's
bits and a bet, and then them talkbacks about eleven.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Oh five sore going to take it away over there,
brother number, Well go here.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
You didn't get a chance to you asked it to Florio.
But I want to hear your opinion on this Monday
night football game this week in general, because we've seen
teams that we think in the NFL our powerhouses go down.
The Eagles losing weird and sporterline embarrassing fashion at home.
The Broncos are a good team. Bo Nicks is a
good player, but you blow what was a ten point
(36:39):
lead in the fourth quarter at home.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Not good.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Look they got out score like eighteen or eighteen nothing
or something in the fourth quorder, something like that.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Yeah, you've got the Monday night football game the Chiefs
where Trevor Lawrence. That's a frisky and fun team. They
go out and beat the Chiefs and take it to them.
And then you've also got the Bills who just came
out completely flat, just didn't want to have the ball
at all, was given it away, coughing up constantly. What
do you think is this an evening week for the NFL,
(37:08):
A parody week in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
So what are we doing here? I mean, do you
do you?
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Are you massaging my football mind to pave the way
for what will be Brett's bet or BET's moving forward?
In other words, your fat juicy squad I mean just
has to be favored by I don't even I have
been looked at any points bread Jeb, have you looked
(37:35):
at and don't tell me? Have you looked at the
points spread for your fat juicy squad hosting dim Bengals
three twenty five on Sunday?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
I have seen the spread for my fat, cheesy juicy squad.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Let me see.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yes, I'm going to make off a bye FLA. Is
Jake Browning hurt? I mean they traded for Joe Flacco? Okay,
but like, is Browning hurt? I think his ego hurt?
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Well?
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Right, yeah, I don't. I think they're going to flacos far.
I'm concerned.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Yeah, well, Florio was like, you know, black Flaco's Blacko
is going to play the Green Bay Packers for a
second time this year. I had forgotten that h that
he played them already once. When did he for whom
did he play when he played him earlier.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
What happened? But what happened?
Speaker 2 (38:21):
I don't I'm playing with you.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
You know, the Packers are tied for the least amount
of losses in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
That's very good. That's a fact.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
An tied for the most ties. Let's see how these
favorites look this week. Niners at Tampa.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
I really don't feel like analyzing any of this right now.
I did not watch Monday night football. I could not
care less at that stage. Absence makes the heart grow
ponder trying to get that body clock going again. So
I'm just with whatever your question was, I'm gonna say, yeah, yeah,
I'm going to say that this is an evening out
process this week, and well, your fat, juicy squad should
(38:59):
should be somebody by ten points or more. Unless Flacco
does Flacco thangs. I'll start getting I'll start getting back
into it this weekend.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Fair enough. The Wolves, they're in preseason action. They they
lost in overtime. I was almost convinced that they just
didn't play the overtime because the alerts I was getting
on my phone just didn't say anything overtime.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
That's what I've gotten in any preseason Yeah, it's weird
overtime in any preseason game. You know, King of the Rubes,
Jimmy Knutson and Johnny Athletic, they're gonna be out there
loving it. But man, that's a lot of Johnny Jusang.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
How about Anthony Edwards seventeen points nineteen minutes, that's a
pretty good rate. But everyone saw minutes Nas Julius Rudy,
So that was pretty much the team. Yeah, they lost
in overtime, it's preseason, but it's nice to see Anton
and co.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Back out there. Well, there's no doubt about it.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
There's no doubt in super special Rob Dillingham executing his toil.
I believe October twentieth, nine to noon will be on
at the Timberwolves training camp, and uh that means we
will be embedded in the owner's slash general manager's private
suite overlooking practice with Finchy Finchy starting the show. So
(40:15):
we'll start revving the engine for the old NBA season.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Probably right around then.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
The nhlse's all here. Mcara's over there making friends. We're
still we're still going Kara Kara.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
The average length of these conversations you're having with Rube
Nation to give We are be mindful. We are giving
them something, not vice versa a lot of information. I mean,
it's like when your MIC's on and she talks a
little louder. I hear I know right, and I hear, well,
the weather's bound to take a turn. You you just
(40:50):
sooner or later, we're gonna be looking at those snowclowds.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
I know, right, So wow cows.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
You just long phone conversations speaking of of snowplows.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
Number three the NHL season.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Actually, I was gonna say kicked off, but puck dropped.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
You watched the Lanche last night against the Kings.
Speaker 1 (41:09):
I did not, mostly because it made me sick that
they were winning and looked good.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
Again. I watched a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
It's one game. I came reacting to it. That's the beauty,
That's okay, that's you. Well, you got a podcast. It's
a super special sitting, and I guess that's what people
have to.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
Do to win.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Packer Review podcast available right now in free iHeart Radio app.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
No.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Panthers beat the Blackhawks three to two. Penguins win an
MSG three nil, Avalanche beat the Kings for one. It
just feels good to have real com I mean, the
preseason's nice, but that was like real hockey that it.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Just hit me with a nil and I was just
adjacent to multiple pitches for a long time.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Chelsea Liverpool.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
I did not attend the game, but but it's the
highlights that I saw and the buzz in Old London
Town see the uh. The MVP move that I made
from a personal standpoint on this trip was I got
a I got on a train at like six forty
five in the morning from where by myself nowhere, Yeah,
(42:15):
from where, and then after where, I went to who,
and then I went to how, and then I went
to why and those were all.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
The stops either ways.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
But I got into Old London Town early and the city.
But it was Chelsea and Chelsea and Liverpool, right I think? So, yeah,
there was well there's a Chelsea, Chelsea was your team
or oh, okay, it was Chelsea and Liverpool. I'm pretty
sure Liverpool was undefeated. Undefeated, but it didn't stay that
(42:45):
way this week and so Liverpool was five and oh
and you talk about tabloid terrorism and like the Daily
Mirror or whatever newspaper I was looking at, So Chelsea
beats Liverpool and then the next day day of the
Vikings rounds a game it was honestly, it was how
deeply rooted are the problems with the Liverpool covenant? And
(43:09):
I mean I had to be like, wow, wow, this
is kind of interesting because how that game ended. Oh well,
Liverpool was five and oh into the game. So I
think Arsenal actually is now atop the table? Is that
how you say?
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Yeah, I heard that a million times. That's why that
That's why I'm the Addison touchdown. I called him the
man of the match. It's brilliant because I had heard
it somewhere and it stuck with me and Jordan Addison, Hey,
he's the man of the match. I don't even know
if they use that anymore, but it but do they
still do that?
Speaker 1 (43:38):
It's essentially the three stars of the game in hockey,
but just one and that's you're the man?
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Okay, so you heard that I did?
Speaker 4 (43:45):
It?
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Was that or Addison from the outhouse to the penthouse?
You know, because I'm not exactly sure Jordan was the
man of the match. Wentz was kind of the man
of the match. You know, It's there were multiple men match.
But anyway, so Chelsea and Liverpool, who knew. Okay, So
(44:06):
on our bus ride from Hanbury, Manor to Tottenham Hotspur,
your favorite stadium, I'm sitting a row in front of
Adam Feelin and Feeling went to a Chelsea game middle
of the week and was super fired up about this
seventeen year old Chelsea has. Okay, you got to watch
the second goal, the match winner. It was the match winner.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Broh. The guy just turned seventeen. He's seventeen years old.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
Coach ran up to him, manager, pitch manager, whatever you
call him on that part of the pond, ran up
to him and like hugged him like it was his son,
because the kid's so young. Second goal, Chelsea Liverpool. I
thought you were an elite Premier Premier League mind, I am, well,
the hell did you just give up this weekend?
Speaker 3 (44:57):
On the Vikings, on the Packers bye week week as
all over? He's holy cow, No, I've I've got to
do more research on this Estaville.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
That's him, thank you, so sweet, so sweet goal to
the left of the goalkeeper. My man's seventeen and he's
stealing the show for Chelsea.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
Now.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
I'm not in elite football, foot football or soccer. Mind,
I know Chelsea's big worldwide. I know, when you're seventeen
years of age and you're stealing the show. Well, I mean,
this is already has surpassed what Freddy Adu was supposed
to be. So he's skipped by Freddie Adou. He's on
route to Pelee doing this, doing this kind of stuff
(45:37):
at seventeen.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
You have to conceive that, right.
Speaker 4 (45:39):
You do.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
I don't love giving Chelsea any credit for anything ever,
but they are really good.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
I just want to make sure that multiple covenant cleanups
are needed here and that it was Chelsea Liverpool. It
was the kid is seventeen. The tailin information he was
giving me was right. I'm watching the highlight that I
watched the coach, the pitch manager, whatever on the pitch
run up to the kid and just hugging like it's
his own kid.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
It was super cool, man. I do enjoy seeing Liverpool lose, though,
Is that as nice? Okay? Cool?
Speaker 2 (46:07):
Well, that you know what you're you're for every bit
of morsel and depth that you gave during the hashtag
faith wild conversation whatever, the other side of that album
looks like we just heard because you had nothing.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
I don't know a lot about the Estivo kid. That's okay.
I thought you were in a lead premiere premier mind.
Speaker 2 (46:28):
Yeah, it's it's okay, ye find everything's fine. You're you're
in hockey mode right now. Do you have any bits
end or bets to which we can get to.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Well, I don't know if it's a soccer football line
that you could do.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
Let's go actual mary way, you're going bets. I was okay,
hold on, Yankees win last night was sweet. Now, I
you know, during during the Vikings bye week, and it's
going to begin pretty much as eleven fifty five for
me today, it's complete checkout to Now I may watch
football this weekend or I may not. I'll be in Colorado.
(47:04):
But major League Baseball playoffs that's a different bit. Now
that I'll sit down and here's the first pitch from
Brett Blake Moore to Glai Bar Torres. It's Clayburn Day
to the last pitch. But I do follow it pretty closely,
and I like to watch it playoff baseball as the bomb,
the crowds of the bomb. Yankees were dead and buried
(47:26):
last night. Pen stripes dead and buried, might have been
down five or six runs. Then judge Ian started doing
judging and things, and they came surging back and blue
by Toronto to get.
Speaker 3 (47:38):
A much needed win.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
And what was key with that is like every score
in Major League Baseball playoffs so far, it's been like
two to one or like three one or three two,
except for Yankees Toronto games.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
So that was kind of sweet.
Speaker 2 (47:51):
And Seattle absolutely means business taking the taking the motor
out of the Motor City Kitties with that victory yesterday.
Now you got Philadelphia with one of my favorites, Aaron Nola.
He'll be pitching against Yamamoto and the LA Dodgers this evening.
And even though the Minnesota Twins may have harshed the
(48:12):
mellow of anybody who had followed at any point of
their lives, that version of the Beautiful Game, the Abner
Doubleday Game, what used to be America's pastime playoff baseball,
the bomb and some of the stuff last night was
pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
So go ahead and tautus. What do you got over there?
Speaker 2 (48:32):
Brother?
Speaker 1 (48:32):
So when you're waiting all day for Sunday night and
Carrie starts singing, you'll see the Lions and the Chiefs
and I'm going to do a line.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
The line is Chiefs by two and a half.
Speaker 1 (48:43):
I'm here to tell you, and this is a little admittedly,
this is sadness insurance because I don't want the Lions
to win. You don't want the Lions to win. We
don't want the Lions to do anything.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
I got you.
Speaker 2 (48:52):
You have to take the Lions money line two and
a half money line. Money line is Lions plus one fourteen.
So is your fat juicy squad favored by twelve points
or more favored by fourteenth?
Speaker 3 (49:04):
Yeah? I was gonna make it a twelve and a half.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Yeah, But okay, So you like the Lions plus the puntas,
and you know what, I would take them straight up
on the money line. That's because they know how to
play the Chiefs. I've said that for years. They just
they may not win, but they know how to play
the Chiefs. They've just been successful against them. Talk back
Central around the corner, got some vikings talkers out there
(49:27):
for you. Minnesota Wild debut tomorrow evening, so you can
hashtag faith it with us and tell us if the
while we'll have a successful season. And in doing so,
I'd really like you too contextually explain your version of
successful season. I just like when people do that here
(49:48):
at FN one hundred point three kfa N. You're audio
leader in the iHeartRadio family.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Okay,
