Speaker 1 (00:17):
O good double doink. That's a great setup, Bob nine
to noon, all right eleven nine, Good morning, Sultan, the

(00:54):
Sultan twenty five minutes from now before we delve into
and or die into the world of sporting activity. How
how how are you becoming uh such a good friend
with one of my best friends? Tim Sieglely. Yeah, the
owner of First Resource Bank. I did. I did a

(01:16):
speaking engagement for the middle of the week last week
Alec Lewis with The Athletic, the Athletic dot Com and
his podcast. I've hooked him up with Alec, but I
don't believe I hooked or with Tim. I don't believe
I hooked you up with the banker. I believe this
just happened organically. And what's going on with this covenant here?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Well, it's just ironic, right is is your best one
of your best friends? And and Tim Sieglely is is
my parents neighbor in Modamede.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
You're kidding me?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Lives across the street where we also co own a horse.
That's that we were talking about that last night. Actually ironically, So,
I'm Taylor and I went and visited my parents last night,
watching Little Sunday night football turned into the Wolves a
little bit. Mom made chili the whole deal. And we're
sitting at you measually last.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Night, does your mom drop a chocolate bar in it?
Is that ashy bar? They'll sweeten it up a little bit,
a little bit of a hay. I mean the food
connoisseur is in the other room. Yeah, the cooking connoisseur.
Culinary connoisseurinary con in Nordos. So I don't I don't
know how he makes his chili, but I got a
lot of respect for his preparation. My next door neighbor,

(02:20):
Cotton John, despite his proclivities for Green Bay Packers football
and having Gilbert Brown Gnomes atop his driveway, I mean,
he's a he's a fine cook. So I went, I
took part of my chili recipe, which includes a lot
of chili powder and uh meat and some beans of course,
and took it over to him and he signed off

(02:42):
on it. But then he's like, nah, we need this
with the hershey bar at the end, right at the end. Okay,
made a different brown sugar effect almost a little bit too,
I think. So, yeah, who knows, how was your chili?
It was delicious?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
It was great to see my parents hang out with
them and Taylor. One of the last, you know, decently
nice nights of I'mer slash Fall, so we had a
little bonfire out.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
We're watching the Sunday night football game.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
We're switching back to Wolves and all of a sudden
we hear a yell bound from the end of the
driveway and sure enough, there's there's Tim.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
It's the banker. Yeah, there's the banker walking his dog.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
And so we call him off to say hello, and
he came up and first thing he asked, what's the
score the Wolves game? What's score the Wolves game? So
we chatted with him for a while, great duo. We
tried racehorsing, We talked about, you know, everything for a
good twenty minutes. And he has this cute little dog, Gabby,
and Taylor's a big dog fan, so she got her
dog time in yesterday and it was perfect. Great to

(03:34):
see him and just great to hear what he's doing
with the bank and obviously with the racehorse and so
many good things here.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So what's the long play here? Are you trying to
get into his metronic tickets at US Bank Stadium? You're
trying to get into those court sides with the Timberwolves.
It's right, or are you just interested in like your
recent FIGHTO score, it's all about it's all about the fight,
go score right. No, it's it's trying to just continue
to meet great people. Right Like any people you put

(04:00):
in my life or anybody you associate yourself with, I
know they're going to be rockstar type of people.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
So great to have finally met him. He's lived across
my parents for forever. My dad and him have built
a good relationship, but it's never been around when I'm around.
So of course it's pitchback last night at about eight
thirty and he comes roll enough the driveway.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
So great to see him today is a turn the
page Monday for nine to noon on the first seven
with the Minnesota Vikings, and I started off with, well,
actually we started off hearing somebody who I can't recall
ever being critical of Minnesota Vikings football, certainly the way
he was dani Rolofsky. He's so praise worthy of This

(04:42):
with McCarthy, This with O'Connell, This with O'Connell attacking the
middle zone, This with O'Connell getting run out of Josh Dobbs.
He's so complimentary of Vikings offense, specifically O'Connell that I
mean he, I mean, he's savaged the roster makeup. It's
like it's worse than the NFL. You're not getting anything

(05:04):
out of it. And and other than that, Miss Lincoln,
I was the play. So we started there with let's
turn the page on that. Okay, let's give dan Orlowsky
reason in a couple of weeks, maybe three weeks to
come come out and say, you know what about three
and a half weeks ago I said A B and C.
Well they've turned they've turned around a B and C.

(05:27):
So credit where credit is due. Secondly, the turn the
page on the first seven included these B feeders in disguise. Okay,
so you got offensive lineman, let's call him be feeders
when they put an extra one in, well that's that's
that's extra beef. So that's the unbalanced part of the equation,

(05:48):
the B feeders in disguise that are getting us of late.
It goes back to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yep, the six
to seven, three hundred pound tight end Darnell Washington. He's
not aer, he's a B feater. In disguise. Why because
he's a skill guy. And then and then it really
frustrated me this last game that this forty four for

(06:09):
the Chargers, Scott Mattlock. All right, he's fullback slash defensive lineman.
They use him very sparingly on the defensive line, but
they have packages for him. Well, he had played thirty
eight plays in the three games up to the Vikings game.
All right, so they're down Najee Harris, they're down Amari

(06:31):
and Hampton, all right, so they need to reinvent their
running game. Well, part of it involves this beefeeder in disguise,
this forty four, This Mattlock, thirty year boys, he states
never scored a touchdown. He's not an offensive lineman. It's
not really a B feeder, but he's a bfeater in disguise,
and they played him forty one plays in our game. Okay,

(06:54):
So now if the score isn't a lopsided and if
Harbaugh is out running and running and running and running,
because he you know, once he got out of there alive,
kill the clock, got a big lead. The whole thing.
I don't know if he would play forty one, but
you know, he's going to play thirty five, thirty four,
thirty three. He played thirty eighth the previous three crazy.

(07:17):
So here's what bugs me is that when teams are
starting to do that, that's indicating that you may need
you may even know this is coming. Because we saw
the extra offensive lineman Fred Johnson for the Eagles look
like a jumbo package run play we went over the
top seventy nine to Smith or whomever for the touchdown.

(07:38):
We saw what tight end Darnell Washington did to you
along with an extra offensive lineman Spencer Anderson. So they
had six offensive linemen and then this six to seven
tight end who's like an offensive lineman. So they basically
had seven guys with the indicator this current iteration of
defense you're putting out there. Without Van Ginkel, you can't

(08:00):
stop this. And see that's what's lingering with me and
why a face change is required and turning of the
pages required, definitely, because that went. Defensive coordinators are defensive
minded head coaches. Outside of losing, I don't think there's
more they despise than getting run on, because that's an indicator.

(08:24):
It was a fight. It starts with collision and colliding
at the point of attack, and we whooped your ass.
I mean in this fight, we went for more than
two hundred. You couldn't stop. It is that surprise you
with Harball though, well it to a certain extent because
a this, you know, and he ran with Kaepernick and
he ran. Yeah, I mean Jim wants to run. Early

(08:48):
in the season, he was using Jim Harbaugh like he
was Dan Fouts. I mean, he was throwing a million
times a game. And then they lose those running backs
and they start to reconfigure the thing. Quintin Johnson, I
don't even know why he's on the team, Like they
never look his way. But so yes, but not every game.
I mean he'll he'll put Herbert on thirty to thirty

(09:10):
five throws if it's the right game. But the thing
that's getting me is that he absolutely over emphasized this
is the right game to beat them up in a fight,
and there will come a time they won't swing back.
And Matt Locke was the leading charge for Vidal, and
he was right, and Mama said knock the Purple out,

(09:31):
and the Purple got knocked out. So we're turning the
page on all of that. That's why I just went
so long winded and talked it out because I want
to turn you now, well, I got to turn the
page out it because with the Lions on the horizon,
they compensate a man named Dan Skipper, That's what he does.
He's the extra offensive lineman they occasionally throw to. So

(09:53):
it's coming again, hopefully. Van Ginkel's in the mixed to
counter question is will that be enough? But like, are
there some things on which you're turning the page when
it comes to the first seven and looking forward and yeah,
I'm turning like it can be. Yeah, I'm turning on
the page on this whole quarterback situation. I just want
JJ season to be in there. I want JJ season

(10:14):
to roll ten games, so we start figuring out what
we have. Like, what's your take on all that? Yeah,
I think that's where I start, right.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I think if you look at the quarterback position on Thursday,
you almost felt bad for what was going on there
to Carson, just like the grimacing every play and then
he goes to the sideline and you know he's all
beat up and he's hurt, and you just like, when
is Brozemer time? When are we gonna throw Burns brosmer
out there, or when are we going to at least
do something where it doesn't look like Carson Wentz is

(10:42):
dying out here on Amazon Prime? Like what do we
got going on here? And I only was able to
watch the first half. I was in Chicago in the
airport before I had to take a flight back to Minneapolis.
That's all you needed. That's about all I needed, I
found out. So I think that's where I'm at. PA,
Let's turn the page on Wentz. Let's go to j
JJ doing his thing. Let's establish the run game. We

(11:03):
got Aaron Jones back and healthy. Now, that was the
most disappointing thing for me. You add that on to
my one point one points from Jordan Mason on my
fantasy don't love that either. But a total thirty four
rushing yards in that game. That's something where if you
try to win a football game, it's impossible with thirty
four rushing yards.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I think I think it'd be a really interesting study
if people looked at teams that don't have their top
two tackles.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Yeah, and how they're run in games. Yeah, I know
it's it's it's so hard to watch. And we talked
about it last week, right, is the pocket time that
Wentz had against a really good defensive line from the Eagles.
But it was apparent again and I know this, This
Chargers defense was a little beat up, but they still
have guys across the board making plays. And that was

(11:48):
that was apparent. It was there was just nothing And
like I said, I only.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Got it was a blank spot on the Bengo card exactly.
Exactly does does McCarthy season still? Have you guys excited?
Nor do you? First? Are you kidding me? I can't
wait for him to get back on the field.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
And you know, going down the lines, you know, I
in some ways through eight quarters, we were doing the
turn the page talkbacks earlier and there are those you
know that there's a real element when you're judging JJ McCarthy.
The lack of availability factors into that conversation, right, so
you know, the games that he's missed, whether it was
a year ago, can't help these injuries, but all the same,

(12:25):
they factor in. We only have eight quarters, I mean,
just everything that we built in you know, from Friday's
conversation when you jumped in studio Pa, everything we were
looking forward to, everything has gone completely freaking Haywire from
a health standpoint, D line, guys, new interior, the O line,
What did we want?

Speaker 1 (12:43):
What are we getting? I need this kid in my life.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I need JJ McCarthy out there so I know what
the future could look like. Are there adjustments that need
to be made? And how does that impact our draft conversation?
Despite everything that's gone on, despite the three and four record,
If JJ is able to take the field this Sunday,
I can't wait for this game. I want to see
him healthy. I want to see him slinging around the
gym and and just continue to understand exactly do we

(13:09):
have the future at that spot or do we need
to look forward this offseason because PA, I mean, these
games here, what are we talking about? I know we
beat Browning, I know we beat Caleb Williams. The struggles
that we've had in these games. Think about the QBS man,
all those injuries that the Chargers have. Wow, the one
spot where they're locked up is QB. And similarly, all

(13:30):
the all the issues and things that the Eagles are
going through more self inflicted than anything, but they got
Jalen Hurts Rogers handling business, although he didn't last night
handling business against this in Dublin, the injuries and the
issues that we have a lot of. That looks different
if we have the big spot taken care of. And
I'm hoping that that's JJ and I can't wait to
see him. The way he just laid that out, I

(13:52):
guess I hadn't thought about that. Yeah, where Okay? So
who have you beaten?

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Well? You beat Caleb Williams, who my ended up being
the worst of the first six quarterbacks played. Was I mean,
his coach is so frustrated with him A shoot. I
mean they they reconstructed like, like you know, into this
last game against the Ravens, I'm like, Okay, Ben's getting
a chance to do it the way he wants to
do it. It looked like they had it figured out a
little bit. They ran for like three seventy five over

(14:18):
two games. During said games, Caleb Williams throwing like fourteen
sixteen times. All Right, well, what happens when you're trailing
on the road and you need him to throw? Yeah,
throws the right to the other team. So they're okay,
well that's one of the ones we beat. We beat
Jake Browning, who they like so much. They went out
and traded for Joe Flacco. I always love that one.

(14:39):
And we beat Dylan Gabriel and his debut in his
starting debut. Yeah, so that's you know, that's wow, that's
We're turning the page though. The pitch that all has
to happen in on a page turning Monday. Okay, Spearfish's
head may have exploded already by now, or he just
stopped listening, but nevertheless, that is part to the bottoming

(15:00):
out process. And yes, we choose, if we choose we
want to bottom out with our number one Winter distraction, Well,
we have a right to execute on said choosing. If
others don't, they don't, Okay, we are. We're turning the page.
We're because it's the aberration factor of things that we've
seen with this team through the first seven games. Man,

(15:22):
sometimes we go two, three, three and a half seasons
don't see this kind of stuff. Yeah, so we're gonna
turn the page. We are going to shape what we
believe the next page should look like tomorrow when we're
a twin Citi's Orthopedics Performance Center JJ season, you're still
excited for it.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
I am the one, you know, kind of question mark
that I have there is the beat up offensive line right,
the injury to Brian O'Neil, now the question mark on
Christian darrisol.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
I think they both play against the Lions game.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
That's good news and I think that's important for JJ,
right coming off an ankle injury.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Hopefully he's truly healthy.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
You can put him out there if he has to
make plays in the running game, if he has to
escape the pocket, that kind of stuff. But just in
terms of like looking forward, turning the page, getting excited
about Vikings football, I think you have some fun games
coming out, right. You have this this rivalry game against
the Lions at Ford Field in Detroit. Like that's a
tough one in itself, going in there to win. We

(16:18):
haven't done that really well recently. What does JJ give
you going into that one that excites me? Maybe an
injured Ravens team coming here, a Bears team coming here.
Like there's winnable games. There's tough games, but there's winnable
games moving forward. I think it's going to show a
lot about what JJ McCarthy has. But I really want
and I'm hoping that offensive line is healthy because I
think that makes all the difference for JJ as well.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Marathon segment with Parker at Parker Fox two four marathon
segment courtesy of Steve's Appliances and Steve's Appliances dot Com.
You giggled again out of nowhere.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Well, I love I love Steve's and you were talking
about the freaking lint trap during this during the spot
that was my dryer. That was my lint trap, by
the way. Oh and Sarah, I mean she was so good.
It was so quick in terms of helping me out.
Turning on the dryer was like starting a motorcycle in
my mudroom. It was awful, and they helped me out.
I like them, And now I might it might be

(17:12):
fridge and range season. I mean it's JJ season in
totality with the football team, but then it might be
it might be fridge, range and possibly dishwasher season. At
the nord Quest.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
House all aescent I was started shop deals at Steve's
Appliances dot Com. And uh, then go see Sarah and Brian.
That includes up for Parker and or Taylor when they
get married and they buy a home and they're looking
for appliances and stuff, and that includes everybody listening right
now because they're so giving and so loving to Steve's appliances.
I think it is so sweet how how open they

(17:45):
are to the naming of some of their appliances. For instance,
Undershop Deals, you can see that they let Berrero name
a dryer, I mean a washer. It's the white adjut
thank you top load washer by a mana three point
eight qbic feet white agitator, Thank you topload washer. Save

(18:10):
a buck seventy on it. That's pretty cool, Dan, I'm
sure he's not listening. But after oxes are gorg you
have to take care of the lights. Just walking the dog.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
And caught astray, it's a distinction without a difference, caught astray?

Speaker 1 (18:27):
All right, tom So with from a Viking standpoint, if
if this gets real bad, do we sour on the
NFL the way we did Major League Baseball due to
twins PTSD is the same thing gonna happen with the NFL.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
Now.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
I hope that there's more future over on this side.
You're telling me if the Vikings lose five consecutive to
go to three and nine, you're you're gonna be super
excited for Thursday, Sunday, Sunday Night Monday Night football.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
All right, Here, here's the deal because I'm not, well,
I'm still going to be excited for it because I
want to see JJ turn out.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Well, I'll be excited for Vikings games. But it's the peach.
So let's look into this way. Say, I'm Corey Provis, okay, yeah,
and you're you're Poopy Dave, you're the stats guy or whatever.
We do these games. It's off ol, there's PTSD, it's
not getting better. Everybody hates uses, nobody's in the stands. Okay,
that's just our professional lot in life. It's true. Okay,
So we're going to do this because we recognize the

(19:27):
blessing and the honor it is that God chose we
get to do this, and it's a very cool job. Yes,
but that doesn't mean I got to watch the rest
of the league. No, that's that's that's just what I mean.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I still I love the NFL so much, and I
love the Vikings. My interest level, whether it's fantasy, it's reality. Uh,
Baseball is different from me because they have an ownership
group that has repeatedly taken me and thousands upon thousands
of Twins fans for granted for two freaking decades.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
It's embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
And when they're out, I'm out, and I'm and I'm
actually tuned in right now rooting for the Blue Jays.
This is a team that has never bottomed out. They've
made myriad decisions, whether it's personnel, it's drafting, et cetera,
it turning the page, this and the other thing. They've
kept me locked in. And so I think we're what
we're all kind of fighting right now. And Orlovsky mentioned

(20:17):
it in that die Tribe that he went on to
accurate one that when he was kind of disparaging the
roster is you're you're in a battling expectations mode right now.
This offseason, it was the idea we were upgrading the lines,
but this was a team I think Orlovsky's term was
quarterback independent. We built a roster that if you just
had some breathing QB back there, anybody with a freaking

(20:40):
pulse can rock out with this roster and win twelve games.
That has not taken place. The freaking things in shambles.
Everyone's hurt and the healthy guys some of which are
not performing very well at all.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
So it's been a disaster.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
However, again into this season, we have to hold on
to the fact that we drafted a kid tenth overall.
I need him to be healthy on the field, and
I can't freaking wait to watch him.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
So I don't I got it. I shouldn't say I
don't care. I want my team to win every game.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
But if we lose five straight and it's it's just
ugly and it's bad. I am freaking locked in to
see if we got something or we don't, and I
can't wait for the whole thing to continue forward, even
if it's even if it's awful. We're battling expectations.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
We're happy for you now. In closing the Agitator before
the Bengals game, when it comes to that half hearted
answer on yeah, I'm so excited for Jajas from Parker Fox.
Let's not forget yours truly driving to the stadium at
like eight fifteen in the morning. Come on, that's real, pa, Okay.

(21:43):
I see a couple of good looking kids walking across
the street on Chicago, right by the stadium, one named
Taylor Heisei, the other named Parker Fox, both sporting the newest,
freshest number nine jerseys. I always love it, anybody's ever
and now all of a sudden you want to put
a one one in front of the nine and pretend

(22:03):
you're a feeling fan to tag off that thing too.
Just just rip that NFL. You used to pop tags,
Now you're not popping tags. What do you think of
the Wolves for three? Give us your best minute? Yeah?
I think it's there's some question marks right now.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
I think especially at the point guard position, we saw
Dante kind of, you know, take that spot over early.
That's not his natural position. But I also want people
to kind of pump the brakes on that a little bit. Yeah,
he had a bunch of turnovers, only one turnover last
night in thirty eight minutes with the brakes on what
just on Dante at the point guard position?

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Who else do you play twenty thirty minutes? You don't?

Speaker 2 (22:36):
That's the question mark. Clearly they're out on Dilley now
they're out on him. I think there's still time there. Yes,
they're currently out, but he's still so young and there's
still time there. I really do think they like Bones Island.
They played him twenty minutes last night. If there were
a transfer portal in the NBA, be in it. Rob
would have been in it last year. Thousand percent, thousand percent,
And I do think that you still have to recognize

(22:59):
his youth, and you have to recognize the fact that
he is a talent. What talent that is? Is it
fit in this Timbrels roster.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
I don't know. I'm at the point and I do
too as.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Well, Nordo, And I think there's there's a lot of
just hate from from night one and he struggled a
little bit. But also you have to realize that's Drew Holliday,
elite defender on you. So there's so there's some of
that as well.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
I know it's just one postseason, but all forever, just
watching him when Brunson was hurt and the Trey mcbridecat
kind of sucked a good point and he was playing
forty minutes a night, dropping thirty on people at the point,
ball handling, dishing it out, love it. He was so
good And if we can recapture that, I'm excited for
not that.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Yeah, I think I think he makes us better. Certainly.
This this Pacers team we played last.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Night is bad. They are.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
They're struggling, especially without Bennett matherin a little toast brain
right now. So it's a good one to get a
win there without Anthony Edwards. People are a little nervous
about that. I would say, pump the brakes like it's
gonna be okay, soft tissue, hamstring stuff and is a
relentless worker. Probably spent a little too much time in
the off season pushing his body a little too hard.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
It's about management, right, eighty two.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Games, you're on the road, flying to the West coast
to the East coast, doing the whole thing. How do
you get your body ready to play minutes? And as
Tim Conney said a couple of weeks ago, there's no
one better than Anthony Edwards of bouncing back like we've
seen these like opportunities and these these instances where it's like, oh, season,
any injury for and then boom he's back dunking on
somebody ten minutes later. So I think it's gonna be fine.

(24:22):
Love where this Timberrelves team is at. Julius looked really
good last night as well.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
The enclosing. The banker just sent me a text the
best the that that open spot is going to somebody
named Brody from Citadel. I always love that one. He's
a Estonia man. What is he gonna do.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
What is he gonna do for the younger brother? That's
my younger brother. Yeah, Estonia, Estonia. But you know that be.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Right there, bro Okay, God bless you, love you, Love Taylor,
see you on Wednesday, I believe. Around start of the show,
Tail Taylor, we say hello and we'll talk soon, all right, Yes,
love man, love you by uh that that's Parker Fox
at Parker Fox two four around the corner of the
Sultan of Smug We told him eleven thirty five. It's

(25:08):
actually going to be about eleven forty two, because that's
how we operate in the Covenant when it comes to
those colors, and we really do it unabashedly. We uh,
we have cash to give away right now, and well,
here's two men in a con the fan and two
men in a junk truck.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
They want to give you a chance at some bonus
bucks with the cash contest. So use the keyword cash
at kfen dot com kf an dot com.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Enter the keyword cash. You might throws the ball having

(26:03):
a night Wow touchdown Green Bay. They beat Chuck Clark
on a closer twenty four yard touchdown reception. Why don't
you put your pants back on slappy Kay Sinning. Good morning,
David Sin again the Sultan of Smug. He is the

(26:25):
Upper Midwest champion of all that is green and gold
football at TC had Cheese via the X machine. If
you'd like to learn more about his his pregame show
Packer Preview on Sundays, We've got a podcast Packer Review
and Selects. Saturdays, he's with Double T and Greg Popovich

(26:45):
for in the zone right here at f M one
hundred point three KFAM. You know, in absolutely pulling for
Pittsburgh last evening. It's a divisional thing. I just would
like to ask this question to start, where was Nate Hobbs? Where? Where?
Where was Nate Hobbs? Do even this thing out a

(27:06):
little bit?

Speaker 4 (27:08):
Yeah, I'm glad the uh the coaching staff listened to
Packer Nation and said, give Carrington Valentine a chance. The
dude wants to play. He's aggressive, he could cover. I
think the Nate Hobbs experiment is over. He's a slot corner.
Should Javon Bullard get hurt, He's the preferred slock corner.
He got Hobbs in the pinch. But I think his
days as a starting outside corner. Our history and that's

(27:30):
very good news for Packer fans, big.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Skin in the purge. The quarterback looked fantastic.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Your thoughts, Yeah, I mean I was so excited to
see what he would do, you know, with all the
build up all week, not to say for the last
three years when you ever faced Rogers, how's it going
to go? Yeah? He was. He was magical last night. Obviously,
the offense took some time to get going after the
first touchdown drive, couple three and outs were frustrating, and
going to halftime down high after the l on the

(27:57):
field bull attempt and that was pretty neg you know,
this first getting the ball to come out up nigh.
This this might not be the night we all had
hoped for him, but man, what a what a second half,
What a performance to just do that on that stage
with all the Rogers stuff, and I just, you know,
I get questioned that a lot of Packer fans do
so much about why what do you see in short
of love? What makes you think he's a top ten quarterback?

(28:20):
I heard it. I was in Ames over the weekend,
but five guys came up to me, what do you think?
A lot? I'm like, I love everything I see. He
steps up in the biggest moments, and last night was
just the latest. Almost a perfect night. Getting Christian Watson
back on locking Tucker Craft. I mean, yeah, it's exciting
to see what this kid's doing, and you know he's
just scratching the surface.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
What'd you think of your defense?

Speaker 4 (28:43):
I like the fact that they got off the field.
I think Ay Rodger was one for ten on third down,
so I'm still a little concerned about the leaky run defense.
But getting DeVante Wyatt back on the front, I thought
made a big difference. They were really good on third down,
and you know when they had to get stops in
the second half, I think you have three out of
the four drives with three and outs. So it was

(29:04):
an improved performance. Sehre Sengary making some big plays in
back to back weeks, it is an encouraging sign. I
thought Drian Cooper rebounded from a couple bad weeks with
a really strong game last night.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
You know, in the Annals of Football, David senekon at
TC head Cheese, this is the border battle, David Senek
and yours truly, Paul Allam, don't add us. We've been
doing it for more than two decades. No matter the
results of either team. In the annals of the NFL
from a tight end standpoint, you have Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten,

(29:35):
Joe novichk Don Warren, Travis Kelcey, and Tucker Kraft who
has joined the chat. He's joined the conversation off last
night seriously speaking though, Holy cal was he good last night? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (29:50):
He was. He was incredible. I mean, one hundred and
forty three yards and all but twelve of them came
after the catch, and that's what sets him apart. He
did it all last year. He stout out as a
tight end who is one of the best yat guys
in the league. And you know, he's just really hard
to bring down. He's got everything you want. Plus he's
a great blocker and a couple off seasons ago we

(30:10):
read about how he had trained with George Kittle over
the summer and that was sort of the guy he
looked up to. And I think he is becoming that
well rounded George Kittle type player who in this offense
might end up being featured like Travis Kelcey is in
Kansas City. I just think going forward, he's going to
be the number one option and You've got guys like
Watson and Golden and Reed and Dots that can have

(30:32):
their knights and have their moments, but when you got
to have a first down, when you got to make
a play, Craft is the guy the teams are having
a hard time matching up with and definitely trying to
break down once he has the ball in his hands.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Who do you think is the team to beat in
the NFC?

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Well, you know, I'm going to go with my squad
because they beat Detroit when they made when they met
him head to head. I still think Green Bay looks
like the most balanced team. They're going to get Philly
on a Monday night here in a couple of weeks,
I say, obviously the other team. I think those three
teams are the best. I think the Rams are right
neck right there after that, But you know, opinions change
week to week. The Green Bay looks better when Watson

(31:11):
and Wyant are back on the team, and if they
can stay healthy, I think it can be the team
to beat. But it's very fragile, and you lose a
couple of guys and suddenly you go down a few
in the pecking order. Tampa Bay is going to still
have some things to say. I get that. But if
short of love can deliver in big moments, if Josh
Jacobs can get that calf healthy, and if Micah Parsons
stays vertical, I give Green Bay a chance against anybody.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
If if you can, you know, three the Thursday in
front of the Super Bowl. If if you can leave
at nine to thirty in the evening non stop and
arrive at SFO at eleven forty seven, that ticket's only
seven hundred and fifty dollars delta main cabin. Otherwise, if
you leave earlier in the day that Thursday, come back
the day after the super Bowl Monday, they're like twelve

(31:57):
thirteen hundred dollars round trip. Better you better act on
this quickly, Senny.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
Thanks for reminding me. I'll just ask Abbot now for
my press credentials. Just make sure I get in ahead
of the game. Maybe that's the way to go. Who
next Carolina at home on Sunday and then the Eagles
the following Monday night at Lambeau as well.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
That's special?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Yeah, so good?

Speaker 1 (32:20):
All right? Anything we need to know about packer review
as it posted, Well, what what can we do to
help you?

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Packer Review is posted Blake when and I recorded at
about eight o'clock this morning, so you can find it
on the iHeart app. Just search Packer Preview. It'll come
up under that headline and you have to say Blake
Moore and I were a little giddy about our squad
this morning compared to last week's show.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah, and understandably, so best of luck with the with
the pod and you and your family have a blessed
week and we will chat next week.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
All right, thanks, Pa, have a good week, Bud.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Yeah, no problem. Hell, I just don't understand how difficult
that is sometimes. Yeah. Hell back after that, Kenny, any
quick hitters with turning the page that you feel like
you need to unfurl before we leave or do we
just move on?

Speaker 3 (33:15):
We've exercised exor sise some demons today that talkback earlier?
Hit me about pre staff penalty special teams related in fractions.
Just I want to turn the plit page on what
looks like a lack of discipline at times, and I'm
just I'm hoping in the Ford Field and beyond we
can all turn the page on that and just get
our bleep together.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Man, the I don't think you've looked at this yet,
but I did just for the purpose of Paige churning.
The Lions are eight and a half point favorites already.
You saw it.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
I saw it, eight and a half, eight and a
half eight as in more than a touchdown, Okay.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Roxy Rocksboro and Las Vegas Sports Consultants is like, yeah,
we know, gangs coming up. Yeah, yeah, no, no, we understand.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Yeah, eight out tackles coming back. Man, Eagle's coming back.
We're trying to turn the page. Let's get it out
of our system today so if tomorrow at TCO.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
We can build it back together again. Thank you for
turning pages with us. Sorry, k Fair. Kevin O'Connell joins
nine to noon at eleven am tomorrow for Nordo. I'm
Paul Allen Late. Come on in, ladies and gentlemen, approaching
the microphone now from the fighting city of than Cato.
It's big Daddy con.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Speaking of turning pages, I had Grock write this wrap
today because I'm turning the page at three and fourteen
bad defense.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Let's see what x's AI put together.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Ay, you know, listen up, it's the squad and the
slump got a three and four record, feeling like a
bad dump never hot. Now we're just choking on fumes.
Offense not balling, defense not bringing doom. Backfield leaking like
a busted pipe, and the safeties of sleep, and the
corners can't swipe. The linebackers are ghosts, and the tackles
getting torch on. In backs are dancing, leaving a scorched

(35:02):
and the ir list longer than.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
A CVS receipt.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
QB is slinging ice packs, not on their feet, left
tackle sideline he's nursing his knee, and the old lines decimated.
They cannot block a flee running backs stacked like falling dominoes,
and the defense ends out the whole.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Crew and woes.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Coaches stemen, but the hurt won't quit. We're fighting through
the pain, but damn, this is it injuries, piling, high
defense and shambles and we're all wondering why.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
But we grind, reload, come back twice as mean from
the trench as we rise.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Next wins our scene. Thank you Brock podcast Today's Paul
Allen Show.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
We're listening back to previous show and interviews. I go
