Speaker 1 (00:00):
As John AND's Paul Allen, how are you.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Good?

Speaker 3 (00:03):
How you doing all right?

Speaker 1 (00:04):
But thank you very much. Congrats on the OT win
last night.

Speaker 4 (00:08):
Uh might have required a stiff drink to handle it,
but uh yeah you left with two points. Crazy game, John,
Crazy game last night, wasn't it?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yeah? Yeah, I think it was. It was the finish
was crazy. And then I think just in in general overall,
you know, I thought the first threey both teams were
kind of trading chances, and then uh, they were better
in the second and we were we were really good
in the third and then and then it was a
it was a strange finish obviously, with them scoring point

(00:40):
two seconds left and then us scoring in the OT.
So lot going on a lot of process after last night.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Yeah, I should have said crazy finish because it period
is one and two. I mean, they were all different,
but I mean it was a little slower than at
the end, for sure. So did did the neat did
the Nashville goalie purposely dislodge the net in overtime?

Speaker 1 (00:58):
And on the Joe Hanson game winner?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
You know, I don't know if he did it on purpose,
you know, it looked as though that he did, but
I can't, you know, I can't say for sure. Originally,
when it was on from my angle on the bench,
I thought that he had pushed it off with his pad,
so I wasn't sure right away if it was going
to count. But then once I saw the replay from
a different angle where his arm you know, looked like

(01:24):
it had dislodged the net, then I knew it was
probably going to count.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
And when I say stiff drink required at the end
of that game, Stamco's ties it would point three seconds
to go ericson X clear to win the game, hits
an official. I mean, you can't make that stuff up.
Fourteen with the proverbial bullets firing at that time, he
made the right play, right.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, it was just one of it was one of
those ones where you know, it hit the ref and
then it stays in. I think nine times out of ten,
you know with ECKI, that's going to be a clear
and the game's over and none of the none of
the eventful thing that took place after that would have happened.
But uh, you know, I think that in that case
it was an unfortunate bounce.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
What what was the ref werr? He was supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's tough for those guys too.
When it's in a clear he's coming up, it's under pressure,
you know. I think if it's a put or to
the other way, and you know that that's where the
refs are in that area of the specific position. I
don't know one hundred percent, no, but knowing that that's
where they are in the zones in those situations.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Each period last night was just so different.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Does does Nashville try to turn it into a slog
and win tight, low scoring games or was that just
last night?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I think it was. It was probably more more last night.
I mean it's the first time we've seen them this season,
and so I think I look, both teams kind of
traded chances in the first It was a little bit,
you know, we're a little a little bit reckless in
the first And then I thought it in the second period,
I thought, our execution and connection to be able to

(03:05):
get out of our end and and and pase the
pressure off to execution and breakouts and coming out of
the zone was off, and they really gain momentum from that.
And then I thought in the third period, you know,
coming in with a two to one lead.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
I thought we played pretty solid and and you guys,
like you said, put the pedal to the metal in
the third plagurer cleanest period when when when when they
kept missing the empty net to seal it and and
before Stamcos tied it. What's the feeling for you, like
on the bench, Like how do you stay calm during
that flurry?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
You know, it's it's funny when you're involved because you're
you're so focused on what's on, what's going on, whether
that's you're you're identifying the things that are going on
on the ice at that time. You're also you know,
in preparation for a line change if if these guys
come off, who the next guys be, So you're making
sure that that's organized and so it's not it's not

(03:58):
so much. Uh you know, maybe like a fan where
you don't have those responsibilities. It's just the game, you know.
I think coaching and playing, you're focused on what what's
actually going on and what could potentially happen next.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Uh Uh Gus Gus was on his game for sure,
and and it seemed you desperately needed it right, especially
in the second period.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yeah, Gus played a really good game. You know, that's
what we need from him. And there's there was times
in that game where we were we were under siege,
whether that was you know, mistakes that we make with
his breakdowns. I think every team has it in that
in that stretch in the second period. You know, he
certainly was the difference in the game to keep the
to keep the score where it was.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
John Hines, coach of the Minnesota Wild, nine to noon
with Gus did did he did he make a lot
of tough saves or or was it more of a
blue collar just do your job for us tonight, Gus
and we'll be okay.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
It was it was a combo. He made some huge
saves for us. You know, I think there was one
point blank right. He had the combination of everything last night.
He made some big time saves on some big time breakdowns. Uh.
He made the routine saves and I thought he did.
He did a great job also as well, just you know,
in in those traffic when you have to really compete
as a goaltender to find sight lines and there might

(05:13):
be tips or rebounds. I thought he was extremely competitive
and solid in that area as well. So I would
say that he hit you know, he hit the he
hit the whole gamut.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Last night, you you you had a term or a
phrase after the game that that I hadn't heard.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
You've probably said it before and I missed it.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
But like I think you were asked about the difference
between the second and third period. So when when you
say sometimes you guys have to quote fight the panic
and quote what what does that mean?

Speaker 3 (05:41):
When when you get when you're under duress or you're
under pressure, particularly coming coming out of your own end,
whether it's your breakouts or when you're insane a defensive
structure posture, and you wind up with possession of the
puck a lot of times, you know, in today's game,
there's so much pressure and everybody's so fast that if
we're in the right spots, know where we get in

(06:01):
where we get into trouble. Particularly last night and the
second period, was the puck would wind up on someone's
stick and we would just slap it. We would we
wouldn't we wouldn't make a play, we wouldn't make a
firm play. We panicked a little bit with the puck.
And that's one of the phrases you like to use
in those situations is you have to fight the panic
like you are under pressure. Yeah, but we have to
have good positioning. We have to be you know, we

(06:21):
have to be able to make some plays in those situations,
more so than we did in the second period. And
I think if you go out and you watch, say
the first shift of the third period, I think we're
in defense's own coverage. Middleton gets over the Puckey's under pressure,
he fights the panic, he pops it to the middle.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
We're out.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
You know, we needed more of that in the second period.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
That's terrific. The penalty kill was solid.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
What what's key with a attacking a power play?

Speaker 1 (06:47):
All right?

Speaker 4 (06:48):
That's your preference, attacking a power play group without becoming
too loose while being a man short.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah, a lot of times it starts with a face off.
You know, if you can, if you can win a
face off and clear it. Now you've eight ten to
twelve seconds off the power play because they got to
go down and break it out. Now you've established your
opportunity to get in your penalt kill four check posture,
which should be a strong defensive structure even though you're
a man down and you try to prevent easy entries.

(07:17):
So now you want to try to hold the lines,
disrupt their breakout, not allow an easy entry where they
can set up right away. Now again you've put them
in a situation where now you can attack them with
pressure and then if you can get another clear, now
you've attacked them, you wipe thirty thirty five seconds off
the power play. Now. The other thing is when they

(07:39):
do gain possession and you have to be in your
structure and they're running their rotations that we need to be.
Now it's a time where we have to be disciplined
with our stick detail, our positioning for the potential plays
that they may run lots of times in those situations
because of the talent level out there, there's probably going
to be one or two scoring chances on a power
play that are high level where you need to save.

(08:02):
And then off of those rebound situations, now you want
to get into pressure.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Again and attack them. That's in the weeds. I love that.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Just a couple of close here for John Hines, coach
of the Minnesota Wild. How close is Zucarello to returning.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
He's close, He's close. I don't know. I would say
I would label him right now as day to day.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Versus week to week, right, and I see he got
it back to back coming up, so maybe one of
those two. But when when Zuki returns, in what ways
will his return help this group? And with with Joe Hanson,
like what happens with him? And you know he's off
to such a great start, what do you think about
all that?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I think when Zuki comes back, he's he's you know,
his on ice presence is he's a guy that he's
a guy that can fight the panick. He's a great guy.
He's so skilled with the puck, he can make plays.
I think the energy that he brings as a player,
he plays both sides of the puck really well. Uh.
His competitiveness for a uh, for for a high skill player,
he's he's he's a he's a very competitive player, which

(09:09):
I think brings energy to your team as well as
his ability to make plays. I think obviously brings a
strong power play element to our team. Off the ice,
he's a you know, he's a veteran guy. He's got
he's got great experiences, he speaks his mind. I think
he brings energy, uh in the group. I think sometimes
his his voice is missed when he's gone, when he's
out of the locker room. So I think you you

(09:29):
combine all those things, you're you know, you're adding in
a player that's well respected in the room and and
is an impact player off.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
The excuse me on the ice, all right, Carolina tomorrow
night on KFA. Nikolai Eelers got his first for the
Canes last night and they got their goalie back from injury.
What what's different about Carolina compared to this Predator's team
you just played, well, they're.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
A little bit different. I think they play a little
bit different, a different styles, uh than than the Predators.
You know, they they're they're basically a man on man
team all over the ice. So they're a good skating team.
They're very fast, they like to pressure you all over
the ice. It's more of a man on man system everywhere,
which is a little bit unique. And they have I

(10:13):
think the way they put their team together, they certainly
have guys that can play that style.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Tear it up, Bud, and we'll talk next week.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
All right, all right? Kay?

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Thank care man, yep, Thanks John Coach John Hines. Heinzy
nine to now. Each and every week we thank Minnesota
Wild PR Media Relations for assistance with that and the
wild Once.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Again, it's time to drop the pot.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Take on Carolina tomorrow evening on KFAM. Here's Nordo with
the cash thing. Yeah, the fan and two men in
a junk truck. You know what they want to do
is giving as they are. They want to give you
a shot at some bonus box with the National Cash Contest.
The keyword is bank and you might be able to
put some winnings in the bank if you enter the
keyword bank at the website KFA.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
And you know what.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I'm gonna do, PM, I'm gonna kind of make this
kind of a mash up, a little bit of everybody's
got warts in terms of a muddy NFC.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
But I'm also gonna throw some Vikes bites in here.
Vikes Bites.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Beef brought to you by Thousand Hills Lifetime grazed grass
fed beef and whether it's your local Coburns Kowalski's locations,
your local co ops, they're proud sponsors of Gophers Athletics.
You can shop online. Big box of meat shows up
to your doorstep. That's pretty sweet. It's a Clearwater, Minnesota company.
Matt and everybody involved love you Thousand Hills, I will
hit you with a with a morsel. How about some

(11:40):
nutrient dense beef And if Thousand Hills was going to
potentially sponsor a player on the Minnesota Vikings, they might
sponsor some high quality beef on the interior of that
line where.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Levi Drake Rodriguez was just.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Wow for
getting that giant mit up in the air blocking that
kick and Isaiah Rodgers getting caught by the holder Jack Fox,
by the way, track star, who knew that? But Levi
Drake Rodriguez El President Day was named NFC Special Teams

(12:15):
Player of the Week, So congratulations to him.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
It takes everybody.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
It takes fifty three ladies and gentlemen, or forty six
to forty seven is depending upon who's inactive, but Levi
Drake Rodriguez all part of that big win over the kiddies.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Congrats to him on that honor.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
And Covenant claps two ld R Levi Drake Rodriguez. That's
awards like that for players who don't play full time,
well they just they don't come too frequently. So Covenant
claps definitely his way for somebody who has absolutely outworked
his draft slotting and having watched the game back, now

(12:51):
it's I'll just I'll triple down on something that we
just we we guessed Monday, started to formulate the opinion yesterday,
and it's it's fact. I mean, it's a here's the
reality with Van Ginkel, Grenard and Cashman.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
It's what.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
You can't double Javon Hargrave every single play.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
You just can't do it.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
And there were some times Christian Mahogany was one on
one with him. He annihilated him two times, So Christian,
excuse me. Javon had a lot of juice in that game.
That's going to be required the rest of the way,
but specifically this weekend, the Ravens, I mean they got
some big old beefeaters on that offensive line.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
It's a big.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Lumbering line that power runs and tries to vertical pass.
So I think that shakes out well for Hargrave, you know,
unless Vorhees and Linderbaum or whomever go to doubling him.
But I expect another big one this weekend from Levi,
Drake Rodriguez and Javon Hargrave.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
May I ask you to reiterate a point that you
made earlier nine to twenty just before Florio, you kind
of noted big trades taking place yesterday, and there were
some splashy bits. I mean, Sauce Gardner and what the
hundred plus million dollar contract being traded from the Jets
to the Indy. That's a big deal. Quinn Williams, the
Jets kind of deciding. I think they're punting on the
twenty twenty five season, certainly, but they're gonna have a

(14:16):
ton of draft picks in twenty twenty six and some
in twenty twenty seven. I think an extra first that
year as well. But kind of reiterating the point that
you made earlier, Vike spite style that you know, no
moves being made of material for the Vikings yesterday.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Maybe some were surprised.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
A lot were clamoring, hey, there's a cornerback here, there's
Xyz Lineman. There no moves being made by Quacy, but
both of us may be in lockstep while not even
sharing it with each other.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Just kind of the idea.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
I think, if this team's healthy, I don't think this
team is going to splash at the deadline for anything
substantial to push forward into the depths.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Of this season, O'Connell told us to start ex as
the o's yesterday phones ringing. I mean, there are a
lot of fe calls that are being made. That that
was the eleven AM, which was four hours in front
of the trading deadline closing. So it's absolutely the every
single team. I'd say most teams will try to make trades,

(15:15):
specifically those with five hundred or winning records, but they
don't always work from a reciprocal value standpoint the way
you would hope they work. So, you know, to say
that they didn't get calls that were interesting or they
didn't make calls, I think that would be inaccurate.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I'm sure they were busy.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
Secondly, if the Vikings lose that game to the Lions,
and it depends on how they lose to the Lions,
when they get all their dogs back, well part of
my you know, for what it's worth, part of Monday's
nine to noon conversation would have been different, and it
you know, from three to five it there could have
been maybe off the microphone for Tuesday day of you know, like, well,

(16:01):
wonder how much they got to think about this?

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Yeah, wonder wonder how much they gotta think about that.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
But then you you need to you it's required to
mesh the current salary cap the future salary cap picks
that you have over the next couple of years, and
and and do you like the team?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (16:19):
And from a corner backstandpoint, there, Isaiah Rodgers did not
play every play. Biran Murphy played every play. He's the
only corner to play every play. Rogers played them all
I think except for five, six or seven. And and
there were flores, as the kids would say, was in
his bag. I mean, there were so many different things

(16:41):
when I watched this back that I just had not
seen all season. Okuda was out with a concussion. They
didn't use Newdy. So therefore you you you have the
O Jackson playing in different spots.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
But but his snaps were down. Hip man snaps were
way up. He he was at the line a lot
of the game. I don't know how much, but he
was up on the line a lot. Then he would retreat.
We've seen that before, but we haven't seen twenty two
and twenty six Smith and Jackson at the line feigning

(17:14):
rush and then right before the snap sprinting back that
threw off golf. I mean, because he had never seen
that from a Flores defense. We had never seen that
from maybe never too strong, I mean, but as frequently
as we did in that game. Yeah, and you know,
I'll say it for a fifth time. Man, I just
cannot stress the importance of having fifty eight to fifty

(17:38):
one and forty three in the game at the same time.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
I mean, it's formidable. It was Grenard and Van Ginkel.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
It could be argued top whatever one two edge combo
last year against run, against pass, pass deflections and touchdowns.
Getting ketchwo might have been the best, certainly off steap.
Well they got that back. They're three and oh when
when Van Ginkle and Grenard play together? Two and oh

(18:07):
when Cashman, Ben Ginkle and Grenard play together. But the
interesting thing here is what happens with others. When when
you got to pay attention to forty three, fifty one
and fifty eight, Blake Cashman. I'm not going to say
he played the best game of his career because I
didn't watch a lot of it from Houston or with
the Jets. Kat Cashman was in it, man, Yeah, I

(18:28):
mean he was into it physically.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Feen fifteen tackles all over the.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Place, right, But see the previous week they they the
Chargers previous game, they used that Matt Locke mostly strictly
to run up the middle take out cashman. Okay, And
I don't know if I'm right with this or not,
and if I'm wrong, I apologize, But in watching that

(18:52):
back okay, when Pace was in the game, they they
would use plays with that four four fallback Matt Lock,
the Boise State kid, where I just think the belief was,
if we take out fifty one, zero will make mistakes
more than he won't.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
See what I'm saying there, I do see that.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Yeah, And there were a couple of times where Ivan
Pace Junior, I mean he stayed blocked for an hour. Yeah,
so you got Matt lockemashing into fifty one. So now
it's heading towards Zero, who's really good against the run
when he's not blocked, couldn't get up blocks, And there
goes Vidal or there goes that former commander backup. So

(19:35):
there's just so much intricate stuff that goes into this.
It's just like you know, when I asked heinse about
the fighting, the panic and no, no, no, When I asked,
heinse about all right, so your your PK it was
good last night, was getting better. But you know, if
you want to attack a team's power play, how do
you do so without becoming loose in other areas well?

(19:57):
That was his longest answer of the seven, eight or
nine that I unfurled because he got in the weeds.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
And it maybe coach speak to some.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
It's fascinating to me because I just I never played
hockey and I just don't know a lot of that stuff.
Same thing with meshing all of this together to get
hardgrave on a big one, meshing whatever together to get
golf think thinking now here comes twenty two. Oh wait,
he's not coming extra beat Bam d Redmon nails him.

(20:30):
It's just that that was, you know, off the trading deadline,
just just to land the plane on your original question,
Nord and I didn't text about it, didn't talk about it,
didn't bring it up on the radio. And it's not
because you know, we don't think there's anything that can
be done to fortify, amplify, and or improve this team

(20:50):
is when healthy. We like our squad. Yes, and the
A topics JJ McCarthy, you know, win or lose every game.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
The rest we winner lose these games the rest of
the way.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Well that that, yes, that that has a topic to it,
for sure, but the capital a topic is the maturation
of a franchise quarterback and that you know, so what
goes into that to fortify that.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
We like the moving company.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
We like the tight end specifically when Oliver plays, but
the net and ere A sect gave everything they had,
specifically the net to help with that running game. We
like our one to two poppet running back specifically when
Ham is active for pass protection. And we and we
like our top four wide receivers, so we like our squad.
All right, what about the defense, Well, I mean it's

(21:37):
Hardgrave needed that game well, but it's also unrealistic too.
I mean it's I can't say it's unrealistic because the
Eagles have done it and they won the super Bowl.
But to have the salary cap mesh with the picks
that you have, meshed with what personnel knows the next
two drafts look like, because they look that far.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Down the road and we don't don't nine to noon
at least to have.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
An all star team, I mean that that'd be great,
you know, And and Howie Roseman and and or your
guy a less Need with the l a Rams bleep
them picks, right, but they they got the money, Okay,
they but it doesn't always work that way. It's risky
when you run businesses that way, and and I just
don't think that's the right way to run the business

(22:22):
here and now the Rams have regenerated themselves with terrific
drafting over the last three or four years. Eles and
and Iversation Eagles, the Rams drafting with the picks they've
had in the middle rounds, and on Saturday, I just stay, yeah,
that's it.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
I'm just gonna give you a couple of collaps and
remove on something else.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Like I don't actively root for people to fail, but
when less need so arrogantly after winning the I hated
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
F them picks, is what he says.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
There was part of me like, okay, reap what you
saw me too. You got the Lombardi, which I mean
incredibly jealous of. Right, but let's see how that goes. Well,
it's gone fantastically. Yeah, they might go to the Super
Bowl this year. And so yes, the Vikings quiet at
the trade deadline, but many picks, I'm telling.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
You right now, many picks and whether I have steam
or not, I'm telling you right now Stafford and this
is in no way encouraging egregious or below board hits.
And it's not at all. I'm just saying at this
stage of his career, he's won. And I think they

(23:33):
know this too. He is one blind side bad hit
from the whole thing being over. Just think far twenty
ten Hardfield College Stadium. You know, now, woot and throw
him down. But I mean, when you get to that
stage of your career, your life and with your age, he.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Can take as much. It takes just the right.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
One and he is one of the Matthew Stafford is
one of the toughest players in the history of the
National Football League.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
I think he actually played the majority of a season
with what Carson Wentz is now having surgery on. In fact,
he's had shoulder issues, He's played with back issues.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
He's tough as nails. Right, So they you know, they
they're very good. Poogle with Davante has really really come together.
Kyron Williams scores every game. Their offensive line, I don't
think it's the greatest, but they make the best with it.
By the way they scheme plays. Uh, they're they're they're
a handful, but they they McVeigh if you got him

(24:34):
to open a vein and like, you know, the truth
serum bit was in him and you're asking about Stafford,
they're they they're sweating that that there's a bad step
or a knee twist, or a bend over the wrong way,
back titans up, or the wrong kind of hit because
Stafford is right at the at the finish line.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
You know the Rams, by the way, who might be
at the finish line with the QB there. However this year,
yeah they have they got two first rounders next year
geez as well. So okay, I don't know what the
QB situation looks like. Wow in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
I mean, if they time that thing up so they
can have two first round picks. Oh, it's the Falcons
one too. What if the Falcons fall off? Are you
kidding me with that?

Speaker 1 (25:17):
I'll make moves and get up to the top three
if the Falcons. If the Falcons fall off, their first
round is going to be a nice one.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
And however, things shake out for the Rams, which which
kind of led me down the road again like Boe Birds, NFC.
Everybody's got Wartz like the five win Panthers.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
And Young and the shotgun snap to Young, Blitz coming
Young in trouble and he's sacked. The ball comes out
of the ten yard line. It's loose at the five
and recovered at the two by Collins and he.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Rolls into the end zone for a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
It was Josh Sweat, the newcomer who knocked it out
and Saban Collins recovers it in scores and the Cardinals
lead six to nothing.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
I mean worse too.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Super happy that the Panthers have their fifth win by
beating the Green Bay Packers. There's no doubt about that.
But the team can't throw the ball. It's Rico dudel
Chewba Hubbard or bust. They ran it up on the
Falcons early on. I know that they ran for four
hundred and fifty five yards on the ground. And two
close wins of the Dolphins and the Cowboys at home.
Beat the Jets in a slog, beat the pack in

(26:20):
a slog. They should be proud of their five wins.
JC Horn and Derek Brown looked like they're balling, but
bad turnovers. You heard the highlight there from Dave Pash
I think that was Cards radio. And they can't chase
well in games because they can't move the ball through
the air. They love Ted McMillan. Maybe they wish they
had dealing back. Who knows what is it? Xavier Lget

(26:41):
I can't rely on him from fantasy perspective, certainly, but
Niners rams Bucks a couple of times in the Seahawks.
I mean, when you're looking at this muddy NFC, here's
what the Vikings need to do. They need to hop,
skip and jump three teams. That's what they need to do.
So they're not looking they need to beat the Ravens.
That's the a topic certainly, But in a muddy NFE
they got a hop skip and jump three teams. Well,

(27:02):
the Carolina Panthers, well that's the first one on the
list and they certainly full of warts, will be jumped.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
How about these Bears.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
We have a Tim Jones fighting wide receiver left, three
receivers right, third and five from the Bears thirteen Chicago
russ Is four.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
McCarthy's great drop to the end zone and touchdown.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Justin Jefferson catches J. J. McCarthy's first National Football League
touchdown and it's seventeen twelve.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
But the Bears are five and three PA.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
They have plenty of wards their secondary, like Jalen Johnson's out.
I think basically for the year, Kyler Gordon is on
ir They just lostdo Dengbo Lavelle's favorite player for the
entire season. And I think the Tyreek Stevens in this
last game that that's now. They gave up forty some
odd points, animals gave up five five hundred passing yards

(27:58):
and four touchdowns. Something out of box ofized bumpy here
Joe Flacca, right, they did in the top three corners
for the Bears were out last game.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Hey what happened?

Speaker 4 (28:07):
Well, Flaco at age forty almost went for five hundred
and four. Oh wow, they won, No, beloved, bj found
a way to get the money late with the Michigan rookie.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Loveland, But just to win that game.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
In those circumstances when you have a new coach and
you're playing new players, that stuff is really really big.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Well typically, I mean you see some shootouts.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
You saw the Cowboys Packers tie earlier this year forty forty.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Jordan Love missed that. I was in Europe. Oh you
missed it. Okay, that was one of those one thirty
in the morning clips, but it was. It was just
an insane exercise.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
And we can get to the Packers because this is
really what it all boils down to. I think the
Bears are going to fade. I mean, backers are going
to beat the Eagles. QB's making dumb mistakes. Swift him
anung guy. It's a homeless man's version of Gibbs in Montgomery.
The defensive injuries were made to persist. Absolutely, yes, oh
look at that, thank you. I can smell that through

(29:01):
the microphone and it is delicious. But the schedule does
them no favor. There's no more Cowboys and Raiders than Saints.
They'll beat the Giants. Problem. That's good for but that's
good for Green Bay. I'm talking about I'm still talking
about the Bears bad, but I get what you're saying.
I just think that the Bears are the Bears ultimately
are going to fade. Lack of health and lack of
consistency on offense. And you watch games like that, whether

(29:24):
it was that forty forty Cowboys Packers game, but specifically
back to the Bears, it took a it took Colston
Loveland bouncing off of safety with one of the laziest
tackle attempts you'll ever freaking see in my life.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
I have not seen the game winning touchdown. It was
from like sixty right.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
It was it was fifty eight to fifty nine yards
something like that, and loved Loveland. It's a nice pass
from Caleb Williams, and their clock's going to be ticking down.
I think they're going to have to spike it, possibly
get a field goal off. But in the end, one
of the laziest tackle attempts you're going to see from
a safety. Loveland was game for it, bounced off of him,
made a turn and he was off to the house.

(30:04):
But I just the Bears still not getting what they
need to out of the QB still in a stage
of growth, and that's a team you have to hop
skipping a jump, which which leads me pa again going
back to my earlier question, I think the North is
the answer. You think, who's gonna send three? Will it
be the NFC North or will it be the NFC West?
Because the Rams right now, as they've gotten healthy and

(30:26):
they find their way. Whoever wins the West, I think
at least one's coming with them. These Niners have one
of the easiest schedules, and they can flame out in January,
no doubt about it. You know, mac Jones turns back
into a pumpkin, but he's figuring out how to win games.
And then Seattle, Man, we're gonna get to see it
in person. I wonder if they're gonna have trouble with

(30:49):
Sam down the stretch.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
I wonder.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
I'm glad you said that. Okay, Week number one, they
host to San Francisco Seattle. Yeah, and the forty Niners
have Bosa, they have Warner, they have their dogs. They're
still waiting for Ayyuk. But they got kittled and they
got pretty all right. San Francisco beat them at Seattle.
Then you go to Pittsburgh and okay, you win at

(31:13):
Pittsburgh thirty one seventeen Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I mean the Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
Was right to be beaten by the Vikings when the
Vikings were battling health issues at an eight out of ten,
So I think Pittsburgh decent but not a world beater.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Agree agree? All right?

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Then they beat New Orleans, they went to Arizona, won
it in the last two minutes of twenty three to twenty.
They then hosted Tampa Bay and they got beat at
home when Tampa Bay was more healthy than it is
now because of this.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
Second down and one from his own thirty two Charboney
stays in the backfield, slots on the left side and
the right side long count.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Here comes the rush.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Sam gets the ball away and throws it in the
middle of the field and it's intercepted. It's inter did by
Lavonte David, the inside linebacker.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Pressure was coming.

Speaker 6 (32:06):
Sam tried to fire it in there in between defenders
won too many times. Oh my word, And that's picked
off right in the middle of the field and well within.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Field goal range.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
And they kicked a field goal and Tampa beat the
Seahawks at woman Wow.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
That do So That's how that bad Boy ended. And
it was an absolute shootout. I think it was thirty
eight to thirty five. The final maybe.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
Hold on Sam Darnold Gohost under center, takes the snap
on perst and ten play action. He's able to run
away from a couple of lions were now, but then
he's taken down back at the three yard line. Sam
Donald sack for the forty seventh time this year it's
a loft of seventeen yards and it's Chris Smith in

(32:51):
his first goal a year from Notre Dame. Those guys
playing because of all the injuries they have. He's a Detroit,
Michigan native, and his friends and family are going not
seventeen yard loss. Now they Seattle went to Jacksonville and
I watched that was the Vikings bye week. I watched
basically that entire game, super ugly game. They were in

(33:15):
charge every step of the way. So then after that
they beat the Texans. They crushed the Commanders without Jayden,
without Jayden Daniels, and now they have the Arizona Cardinals
at home with Perset. After that at the Rams at
the Titans, Vikings at home at Atlanta Indianapolis in Seattle.

(33:37):
Then they finished with the Rams at home at Carolina
at San Francisco. So still a ton of the story
to be shared here. But the point I'm getting at
is I just don't really know, you know, like when
they've won games and how they've won them, what they've beaten. Well,
let's not forget the fourteen win Minnesota Vikings last year,
were the record was inflated and got a little puffy

(34:02):
by sweeping the AFC South. Yeah, okay, And and these
guys are gonna sweep the AFC Salth, So I can
I think I've seen this story before.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
I just wonder how it ends. We'll see, right, that's
that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
And I'm already I've already seen a couple of text
message in because of course is we've we've had the
the issues at QB this year. People are looking out
west and they're talking about Sam Darnold, and I think
Donald has done some terrific things.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
Uh so, how are you going to have Donald for
the Seahawks? You got to give him a hundred million
dollars minimum.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
But but if this persists, I agree with you. I
I don't think that that was ever a feasible option.
You can, you can have a Daniel Jones conversation if
you want to go back in time. But I don't
think Donald was really ever in the cards. And but
with that said, there is the see we made this
grand plan to move on for JJ. Look what he's
doing out in Seattle. And I would actually encourage people.

(34:56):
I mean it's difficult to do, but I would look
more closely these games. He is absolutely on one at
times and that that matchup he has with Jackson Smith
and Jigba is maybe the best quarterback to receiver connection
in the NFL in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
There's no doubt about it, like him and Addison last year.
But exactly exactly yes, a slot. Absolutely, it was terrific
times all receivers.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
Donald steps away from pressure for a second, but then
he is sacked. Darnald back to pass the pocket is claustrophobic,
getting stuck, steps up in the pocket.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
He's holding it too long.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
Front Rowing bounces around in the pocket and he sacked
for a sixth time.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
The Rams have hit the pick six.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
With sack Sam bouncing around, looking holding the ball and getting.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
De Royd again. Okay, So anyway, I.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Just I would encourage there there are there are potential
issues that could arise for the Seahawks. I think I
really like the coach. I think the defense is balling
out right now big time. All they do is win
on the road.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
By the way, from seven is the sneakiest best front
seven in the NFL, sneakiest.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
So Seahawks are game, man. It's not about ripping the team.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
It's not even about trying to intentionally drag Sam Darnold.
Just watch those games closely, Yeah, and just see that
some of the works that existed here a year ago.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
They ain't They haven't left the bet. The first part
of the bet is settled in a few weeks, Okay,
So go ahead and bring forty three, fifty one, fifty eight,
ninety seven, twenty two, seven and two. Go ahead and
bring them to the Cappuccino Capitol. And I'll tell you
this right now. If I'm the Seahawks, I make it

(36:40):
a color rush, and I wear all navy blue and
emerald green, because you don't want to see the back
of some players pants. I always love that after they
see a week of Flores film.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
So Brian to be ready for that, so woke Kevin.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yeah, and it's it's gonna be a fun one on
the road at Seattle in the end, though, I guess
landing the plane landing the Cessina on this who's gonna
send three?

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Their division, our division, and we got just one of
those two.

Speaker 6 (37:11):
We got it.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
We got to do our part, man, because one of
them will have three teams in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
It was the North last year. Maybe it'll be the
North again.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
I think it'll be the North again. I mean it's
you know, I'm not gonna go. We don't have time
to go through green Bay schedules stuff like that. Just
here's the deal with green Bay. If there's a team
above five hundred, they're gonna win. If it's a team
five hundred or below, they're gonna lose, or though that
team will play them to the wire.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
So Monday Night, Eagles w the following week at MetLife
and the.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
Giants, you're l your Lions take into the season, you know,
And we joked about it last week.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
All right, now, we we were at the midway point.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
Like I said yesterday, the best of the best put
the pedal to the medal the weekend of Thanksgiving, the
Sunday after Thanksgiving, big sprint. And there are some things
with the Lion that I saw this last game that
were dramatically different than what I saw last year when
they were working through a lot of problems. Really galvanized

(38:11):
with these Chris Smiths and these these no names that
you know that that that just aren't playing much and
they're playing out of their skin. Yeah, well then that
bubble burst against Washington should have burst against us. But
Detroit is anything but a cinch to win this division.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Well, everybody's got wartz. The division is fun.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Frankly, we're only having this conversation because we just beat
the kiddies and I am pumped for Baltimore as maybe
we turn the page tomorrow and start looking at Lamar.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Yep, for sure that'll.
