Speaker 3 (00:42):
As you walked into the studio, David Sennekin said to
Nordo and yours, truly he's the Sultan of smug But
he his.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Face, his countenance was not that of chagrin.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
It was that of like a mystifying confusion, simply because
his favorite team's playing this weekend and his other favorite
teams playing into the weekend. And you know, he said,
from a sports standpoint, this is one of the more
significant weekends of my life. David and I I just
turned sixty yesterday. Gratz, by the way, thank you, love you.

(01:19):
David and I are about seven to the club, and
I was thinking, I mean, one of the most I mean,
are you really that much into the Wolves game at
the Cavaliers?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I always love that.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Are you going to be looking to see what happens
tomorrow night, to see how Finci's group responds against even
mobile Terry?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
What goes into this? Max Druce isn't playing? I always
love that.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
All right, let's let's begin here with at TC head Cheese.
This is the border Battle provided by four one seven
three thousand nine five two four one seven three thousand.
If you want some of that thousand Hills love that

(02:00):
Steve's appliance is love some of that Hoffman Cooling and
Heating love Metropolitan Ford, so on and so on and
so on. Cotten Ent Diamond for the longest running advertiser
on f N one hundred point three KFA in Jimmy, Elaine,
Andy and revetal thank you. Nine thousand, I believe is

(02:22):
the number. Ask for Lannie. Let's start there. Ask for
Lannie and say I want to sponsor the Border Battle
never too late?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
And what come? What goes with that?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
So that Paul and or Mad Producer can push the up,
so that Paul or Mad Producer can talk about our
company at tc head Cheese via Twitter via x at
tc head Cheese Border Battle. Here we are now apologies.
This would be FIVA, Fairness and box act. I apologize

(02:51):
for being dumb on this. I know your son Jackson
attends or attended I you, But are you and I
you alum? I am an iay, you're an IU alum
from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
That is correct.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
So why didn't you go to Marquette when Al McGuire
was coaching there?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Fair question wanted to get out of Dodge. Wanted to
remember what Al McGuire coached there, Dude, that was my
growing the nineteen seventy seven championship. My mom my mom
in the basement because she couldn't watch.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Wow. Remember their jerseys.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
They were like the first that wore the jerseys that
like you didn't tuck in, but they look stylish.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
McGuire was bomb. He let his players design the jerseys.
Remember bo Ellis from back in the day. Bo Ellis
designed those seventy seven championship uniform els powder blue and gold.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Then Dwayne Wade hated them and they changed. They always
changed as the years go.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Okay, so you being and I okay, you're an IU alum.
Is Jackson still at IU.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
So Jackson just graduated a few weeks ago, but younger
sister Ali is a junior. Hey just took her to
the airport yesterday for a semester in Barcelona. But she's
got one more year at IU. So I put two
of them through the who's your school?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
So so Ali is abroad? Okay, ye three two? She's
a woman, Yes, but she's studying, yes, okay three to
just one.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Archie Bunker on the.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Bit is is is Young Jackson heading to Atlanta for
the Peach Bowl Final Final four against Oregon.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Young Jackson's looking for a job right now. That's probably
already number one. So he'll be watching the game with
me Friday night.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
That's exciting.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
He'd love to find something in Chicago. So he's out
in the hunt for something in the business world in
the Windy City right now.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Okay, So discretion is the better part of valor here,
that is correct?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Saving money? I you favored by four? Does that make sense? Yeah?
I think that's about right. That's what it is. Does
it make sense? It makes sense?

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I think indianimal cover that spread. They cover they basically
every time they step on the field.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
You and Courtney cronin the two and Zach Royce. But
I haven't talked to Zach about it. He is with
the social media team with the Vikings. He's an IU grad.
He's from Indiana. I mean it's like all season and
last season, man, it's like we're waiting on buses and
TARMACX and all that can, all that kind stuff. And
my man's got every IU game on his phone all
the time. That's how much into it he is. First

(05:06):
time in his life because they've never been good. Same
with Courtney, same with you. Yep, and Courtney yesterday nine
to noon was like, I'm not being a homer here.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
You've known me a long time. Pa, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Horrific this stuff. Yeah, I think they're going to handle
or again I'm like, damn handle.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah, no, I think so too. I mean, it's it's
so so real.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
To hear all the talking heads say Indiana's clearly the
best team in college football. I mean, what, it's just
such a weird thing to put that sentence together. But yeah,
I mean, they don't have a weakness, and they have
a coach that knows how to get his team ready
for the big moment, and they beat this team in
their place. Obviously that was the coming out party. It
is tough to beat a team a second time. I

(05:44):
get all that, but no, there's not really a weakness
on it.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
And she just beats Spolster twice in seventy two hours
and sposed one of the greats in the history of
the NBA.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah, I mean football, basketball maybe a little different. I
also think I think that that stadium is going to
be ninety percent Indiana fans it's going to be a hometown.
It's a seven hour drive from Bloomington. Wow, I know
a lot of people from Atlanta. Yeah, it's not bad.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Damn.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
I got buddies in Indianapolis that they're making the motor
kate down.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
They're just driving, not even worried about a flight. Just
get down there.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, just like the rose Ball was about seventy percent
because balle fans have been there, done that way.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Well, when we'll go to the Peach Bowl, we'll meet
you there. Ye, Indiana fans, this is unsharted territory, still
have that.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
But yeah, no, it's been a lot of these fans
from Eugene slash the state of Oregon. They're gonna be
so freaking paranoid they can't smuggle their heroin through TSA.
I always love that they're not even going to make
the trip. You're right about that. I ain't lying about
that either, only cow all right, Next question, any idea
who wins the other one? Ole Miss or Miami? I mean,

(06:46):
we're not Elae college football minds here. Maybe you are
Nordo and I. We do the best we can. But
like that Ole Miss game, would they beat Georgia?

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Yeah? Georgia. Oooh that was nice. Yeah, that quarterback's fun.
That Champier's kid, he is fun.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
And I still can't figure out Miami. I mean, how
they win and they're tough, They're really, really tough. I'm
bored with Michael Irvin pulling the belt off and like
whooping butts, but all missing Miami, Like, are you just
one game at a time, don't worry about that Thursday?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
I think Miami.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I just I foresee Indiana, Miami in Miami for Menda
Mendozas from Miami. I just see all the storylines in
Miami where.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
The championships, the Orange Bowl.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Yeah, it's in Miami, so it's kind of a home
game for the Hurricanes. Fernando coming home. I just sort
of see that coming about. This is so good. You
have to go to that, that's in play. I've got
a good friend who's she's in Miami Hurricane grad. She
lives in Plantation near Fort Lauderdale. She plans on going.
She said, Cinny, we're going.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
So you're acting like Leabelle and Baron pays minimum wage. Wait,
holy cow, you got money pushed off to the side
for moments like this.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
There's no question but also, I'm putting three kids through college,
so I'm being very careful about the sporting events I
want to attend. But that one I understand there's a
good chance I'll make my way.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
When Wendy ask Abbott for the press pass, what day
is today?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
If they took him three and a half years to
get a card key to the building, I think they
get a media credential.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Throughout the hypothetical on Monday with abbat just what would
that be like? Well, you probably wouldn't be in front
of the state. You're probably watching it in an adjacent
room on a screen. Yeah, there'd be an auxiliary press.
But I'm not doing that.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Okay, I'm going down there. I'm cheering in a seat,
that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
As an Indiana University grad is winning the FBS national
title significant to you.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
It's as big as it gets. Are you kidding? Bigger
than the Packers winning a Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Well, it's funny you asked me that, because I as
odd as it is Monday night or Sunday or Monday,
I went to bed thinking if somebody put a gun
to your head and said, only one of your teams
can win this weekend Hoosiers or Packers.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Who you got. You gotta take the Hoosiers. I got
to take the Hoosie.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yeah, but I mean green Bay has the audacity of
winning one every twenty eight years, so I mean, you
got at least you have the one.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Got a couple a couple of ninety seven twenty eleven.
So that's an odd scenario where someone would put a
gun to your I know, liked more.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
It seems like they're going a bit far with that,
but it's odd for me to face it would be
the Hoosiers just because you know, green Bay's expectations right
now are not Super Bowl. They're like, yeah, maybe you
have some fun, win a game, maybe you scare into
second game, but.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Green Bay, yeah, to win four.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Seems you're saying their aspirations are not to win a
Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Of course they are, and of course they are.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
But as a fan, my expectations are are moved, are
muted because with Indiana, I'm a game away from them
playing in the National Championship. I've been waiting twenty five
years for the basketball team to get to the Final four.
You know that still seems light years away. So the
last time they won.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
It was like Keith Smart fadeaway baseline over Derek Coleman
eighty seven. Remember that, Yes, of course I do. That
was such a wonderful game.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I mean they won it.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
My freshman year was the bomb that year they were
and Indiana was not expected to be as good as
they were. Smart though, Keith Smart though, for sure, Steve
Offferd senior year, Jean Garrett. Yeah, that was a great
team that was unexpected. Yeah, just like when I was
a freshman, when Isaiah Thomas was there, eighty one was unexpected.
So no, it's been generations for the basketball program. Football

(10:08):
was never even a thought, like yeah, kidding me, Yeah,
you know, this is just so un And now I'm
hearing like, hey, the Raiders should call Signetti and you know,
tell him they're going to draft Mendoza. We'll bring the
whole team over to Las Vegas. We're right away from
my guy. Were you a fan last one here in
the college Vibe?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Then we'll probably take an early pause and go NonStop
by NFL with the Packers and Bears In the next segment.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Were you a fan?

Speaker 3 (10:32):
I you were you a fan when Jordan Howard was
toting the Rock, or Antoine Randa Law was returning kicks
and or throwing passes, or when Dan Feeney was a
two time All America blocking for Tevin Coleman.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Hey, I was a fan my freshman year when Lee
Corso was the head coach.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Wow a head coach. Oh yeah, he did, that's right
in Florida State. Then he was in Indiana.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
But see, nobody knew that because he always wore those
weird things on his the mascot. I shouldn't have done
that during knew who he was. That wasn't a good look. Okay,
So best of luck to your squad.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Uh is our the Green Bay Packers going to win
Saturday night against the Chicago Bears. We will hit that
around the corner with the Sultan of Smug longtime dear
friend of a nine to noon or ten to one,
just for fun, Da and Scoobay. We're going to get
into the NFL playoffs. Maybe a little Wolves, but we're
going to do that with David Sinnekon at TC head

(11:25):
Cheese VX when we return.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Alight the head Cheese.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Your football team is going to win Saturday night, isn't it?
And by the way this game opened to pick them.
For those who care, it's green Bay one and a half.
Green Bay favored by one and a half with a
couple of days to crush up until that Saturday night game.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Seven seeds favored over a two seed on the road.
You say, right, yeah and a half minus one and
a half. No, I know, I do feel good about
packs chances. Third meeting in thirty five days between these
two teams. Green Bay has yet to trail for one
second of action against the Bears in two games this season.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Helped me with that place because I put a lot
of time in anticipation of this. I put a fair
amount of time into the most recent game. Yeah, bail,
So the one at Lambeau, Like, what was it like?
Were there major injuries?

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Like? What was that game? Like? No, I don't think
there weren't major injuries.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
It was that That was the game where Caleb down
the stretch, had a chance to win it fourth and
one from the five, and Keishaw Nixon picked it off
in the end zone. Green Bay's defense just kind of
let up, let off the gas a little bit late.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Caleb.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
You know, look he's good in the fourth quarter. He
makes plays. Yeah, and they came back from a substantial deficit,
made it close. Green Bay was really strong in the
first half, Bears crept and Crepton got close to it.
And you had mic of that game. No wait, yeah,
you had Mike at that game? Did we was Micah
the next week again Denvers? Remember that that border battle.
We just had the Baron Siro game. Barons Rice. He's

(13:00):
not bad, Yeah, he's nice. Ever heard of Texas Longhorn?
Holy cow?

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Right?

Speaker 2 (13:03):
It was the next week after that first matchup.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah, but there were since the two games since Micah
went on IR, I mean it was it was like
four hundred and fifty yards a game given up. You
got the Derrick Henry thing, I mean, so there were
so many awful numbers from just like a two game patch,
which too, it's only two games, and you're gonna get
your quarterback back for this. But the man, the Mica thing,

(13:29):
the lack of Parsons effect, it's legit. Nothing you can
do about it. So you gotta play with what's in
front of him. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
But the game at Soldier Field, green Bay held Chicago
to nine points at the two minute warning.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
That's the key, and that's about Micah. I mean they
held them nine points.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
The defense was on point in Chicago and then everything
went parashape. That was a game where three times inside
the ten yard line Green Base scores a total of
six points Jacob's fumbles, So the defense. The only real
head scratcher was that Ravens game. And I don't know
what happened in that game. I can make excuses in Denver,
excuses in Chicago for the craziness of that game ended,

(14:06):
but the lack of any kind of attention to if
you wanted to be there at lambeau Field against the
Ravens was a real head scratcher for that defense because
the offense was lights out and Leak Willis was lights out,
but the defense had no interest in playing for whatever reason.
Didn't expect that from a Jeff Hafley coach defense. Obviously
the following week now you're not playing anybody. So it's

(14:26):
a weird spot to be riding a what a four
game losing streak and be favored in a wildcared game
on the road. I'm sure that has never happened, and
they may not close as a favorite, but just it's
a it's by and large of pick them and these
teams know each other.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Well.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Green Bay put six players an IR after week seventeen. Yep,
and that's one reason they rested virtually everybody in the
lost Bowl. Melton in the biking game, he was put
on IR this morning. So just a crazy mind. It's
very parallel to the Super Bowl champion here twenty ten.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, but let's pump the brake for a second. The
players that went to the IR after week seventeen that
they weren't the most significant players.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Well maybe not, but you lose your third and fourth cornerbacks.
That's why you have to go find Trevon Diggs because Wally.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Weren't already on your third and fourth corners.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
I know, I'm I'm sorry, I gotta stop. Look, try
to tear somebody else down the field. Better about my
inadequate south.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
I'm not trying to laugh, but I don't think injuries
are funny per se. But I mean the way you
say that, and we lost bow Meltin.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah, almost lost Canaine after McCarthy trucked him.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
He was one of two guys that are ever going
to get snaps. Yeah, played in that game. Get thirteen
guys on io. Yeah, Well, no doubt about it it's unfortunately. Okay,
Well Melton, Well here here's the deal. It's so convoluted
and unpredictable in my estimation, uh, the latter stages of
the season, and then now heading into the playoffs, like like,

(15:55):
you know, I don't even know who I want to pick.
You go to the super Bowl where generally you kind
of have a decent little feeling. Agree, here's how convoluted
it is causing me to become discombobulated.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
We are Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. We are five days
removed from the final Friday football feast a Buffalo Wild
Wings egan, where I was charged with making a case
for a team from the NFC to go to the
Super Bowl. Okay, and I made what I thought was
quite the compelling case for the Chicago Bears. Really you, yeah,
you find a way to win, win the game against

(16:27):
Green Bay, which is key historically, and now you the
day after Thanksgiving, anybody who goes to Philadelphia and wins
the standalone game at Lincoln Financial, you're on my radar.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
It gets your attention.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
And then you go to play next level Shanny in
a game he's really trying hard to win, and you
showed me you can score with them. Now They're defense
ain't great, but still scoring thirty five thirty eight. That
ain't easy. So wow, holy callous, see what you're doing here? Okay,
then they played the Lions that I thought he was
going to try to put seventy up up on Dan

(17:02):
Campbell for the fifty two Week two.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
It was a bad take, and this may be a
bad take too.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
But so I'm like, yeah, I can make a case
for the Bears to go to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
And here's why. Well, I'm now all over Green Bay.
I always love it.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
But here's why, because I looked back at the most
recent game and the most recent past performance in in
the on the form is what matters most. I had
forgotten that was that ten and a half hour buses
planes day trying to get to New Jersey to play
the Giants the next day. So I'm listening to Larav
on a bus. I'm trying to sneak views off Spearfish

(17:38):
Sammy's phone, you know, on a way to a hotel.
So I was in and out with it, sure, But
now that I've gone deep diving on it a little bit, Bro,
you're a ninety eight percent winner if Jacobs doesn't drop
it inside the five, and if Romeo Dobbs acts like
he's seen an on side kick before in his life.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
And before they kick the field goal to make it
a one score game. In the two and a half
minutes to go, one of our backup defensive lineman gets
a face mask call on a sack where they would
have been out a field goal range. They would't even
been able to kick a field goal to get within
one school with a bad call. No, it wasn't a
bad call. It was a stupid play by a backup
defensive lineman. It didn't affect the play whatsoever, but he
did it.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Was it Brooks?

Speaker 1 (18:19):
No?

Speaker 4 (18:20):
I think it was either Brinson or Kolbe Wooden, one
of those guys Warren Princet You. Yeah, I was just
there were five of war and Brinson Baron surreal tandem
moving forward NFC norrist offenses be prepared careful. Yeah, it
was just a five or six plays that any one
of them don't happen.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
I can't say you're a cinch. I got a lot
of respect for Ben. I like how they run it,
with the way they run it, I don't like really
either pass rush I think both teams have to blitz.
I think they are more capable of blitzing at home
with the crowd on their side and catching somebody off
guard with CJ.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Gardner, Johnson or something.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
However, I mean you, I mean your squad.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
It was.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
It was a flim flam, bad beat to not win
that game. Now tell me if you think this is
a legitimate concern, because you know more about it than
Meme when involving this team. If if Gary Cooper and
all those cats don't get to Caleb, and even when
you get to Caleb bringing him down like trying to

(19:23):
bring down Big Ben, it's very difficult. All that, then
none of that is sub confusion, hyperbole. It's very true,
very slippery that way, very starting. If they don't get
to him the deep game with Chicago over top on
these corners and safeties, I'd be concerned about that.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Are you as far as the Packers offense against them?
Are you saying their defense.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
The offense Packers defense not getting to Caleb his deep
ball's nice? I think Ben unfurled something with Jada Walker,
got Burden running. Well, Now Doonday is going to be back.
DJ's an underneath guy. They use him as running back.
But I just love Lens getting down the field. Now
they drunk the post with him. So I just this
deep game the Bears can have, I think is to

(20:09):
their advantage.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Okay, I'm not going to disagree.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
I'll take the Packers deep game against their secondary ahead
of the Bears. I'll also say, dude, it's going to
be snowy twenty five mile an hour wins.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Yeah, I don't think that favor is a passing game.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
All the wind does it, but I don't think favors
a deep passing game necessarily. I don't think Caleb's going
to enjoy playing in those conditions. He's a you know,
Southern California guy ready that I just don't know know
that the Bears are going to be ready for what
this game is and they don't have the Yes, they
got an offensive line with a lot of playoff experience.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah that's a great point, but a lot of play
just like the way the Packers were ready for the
playoff game last year.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I always loved them, a lot of newbies at Lincoln. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Well, we got dropped in the very first play of
the game on the kickoff return where they fumbled it
and they didn't call the fumble and it all went
downhill from there.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Brandon Boston, who knew kidding me always the time, I'm
I'm excited to see what Jorda Love does in this game.
I think people are sleeping a bit on Jorda Love
in this offense. Jacob's now has gotten healthier. With that
he Christian Watson available, He's the playoff game. He's become
the bomb wasn't last year because he got hurt in
week eighteen. His route running is really I've been told this.

(21:17):
His route running is really, really sharp. He's got a
full speed top of the route, shoulders shake, got no
idea left or right. He's just gotten really good at that.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
He's got the size, he's got the speed, he's got
the hands, the route running, he's the full package. He
just has to stay healthy, which has been the issue
with him. But when he is available, he is a
field tilter and he is the key to this offense.
So yeah, I think Weenbakers scored some points. I just
think weather is going to be a factor in this game.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yeah, you're not not that Wheeling is a you know,
a major factory or anything.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
He's a bunter.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
But punter's mattering games like this man, lower scoring games,
weather conditions, I mean Wheeling with all these touchbacks and everything,
Holy cow, I mean the special teams for the Green
Bay Packers realize the problems that they had had in
certain areas until starting to get ready for Border Battle
one three one Now, I mean Visa Fairness and Special
Teams Act.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
You know.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
McManus left. He was hurt and he left the season
for a while.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Then he came back. It's been pretty good since he
came back. Yeah, he's terrible on kickoffs. He doesn't get
it right now, he doesn't. Why do they use him.
I don't think they I don't think Wheeling can do it.
I don't think they have another guy. Wheeland led the
league in punting average fifty one points something. He's been spectacular.
He is a I mean Danielheeling was the best punter
in football this season.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Well, now there's nobody is the best punter in football
with eight touchbacks.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
That's it. That's the back.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
He had eight touchbacks this year. Are you talking about
on punts?

Speaker 2 (22:40):
On punts? Well, his net he was fourth in the
league in nets.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
So no, he hasn't had a pump blocked in one
hundred and seventy at least in his whole career. So yeah,
he gets it off quickly. He's a good directional punter.
But when you got a eight pence.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
Guys back we've had, we've we've pinned guys back all season.
Daniel Wheeling has been one of our best players. Yes,
he has eight touchbacks. That surprises me. He has a
he has a metric. Well it's not a metric, it's
a stat, but like nobody ever goes with it. I
think inside the five punts, inside the ten or inside
the five, he might be historically good at that. Yeah,

(23:15):
all I know is there were three games this year
where Wheland never saw the field because the Packers didn't punt,
and they lost everyone and they lost all three. Great,
so Wheelan needs to be out there. They need to
punt to have a chance to win the game of
Let's think.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
About what you just said.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
I know, okay, now not the harshmallow, but just think
about the last time you saw K nine guy and
Carrington Valentine and high leverage situations.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, not good. Well that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Rough.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
They benched Valentine in week seventeen and they put in, Yeah,
and they put in Nate Hobbs, then he gets ACL.
Then they bring in come All Had and then he
tears his ACL. Yeah, I mean they don't want Valentine
out there. He's he's a good cover, he's decent cover guy,
but he cannot tackle. That's why they brought Trevon Diggs over.
That's why bow Melton was playing cornerback and they just

(24:02):
they're very thin at that position. Nixon has struggled against
the Bears this year. He's had some good games. The
two games against the Bears, he has not been good.
He's a key player for Green Bay Saturday.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Well, you know, you know what what's a shame here is,
Well you got Melton down to now but well, no, no,
I'm being serious. You're looking fun of Considered one of
the better special teams guys in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
We're getting one back, Nick Neeman, a really good special
team's got a linebacker all season.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
He's back Saturday. That's big too.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
But see they la floor it's risky to use K
nine on kick returns. He's unbelievable on kick returns. Okay,
Keishawn Nixon is one of the best kick returns this
side of kick returners this side of Cordero Patterson back
when he was playing. But you can't use K nine
guy on kick returns because if he gets nicked up there, right.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Well then he got some depth terrorism, right.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
And the guy that have been using the rookie receiver
save On Williams, is one of the six guys that
doesn't matter that tour that he's out for the year.
Tv I are as well. They don't have return guys.
You know the Immanuel Wilson might be the kickoff.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Return Yeah, yeah, he was back there in the Vikings game.
All right, well, I think you win the game. And
so do you.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Listen to this? I just say a little one little
uh pipping for me and.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Blake Moore, but you got to you got a tuggle
war thing and Hudson or something.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
No, but because the game is Saturday night, Packer Preview
will be the review edition right Sunday morning, we're going
to talk about the game.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Who needs the podcast, So we're going to do a
Packer Preview podcast on Friday morning. Oh week, it'll be
a little preview of the big game Saturday on the
iheard what time?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Uh. It'll be posted by mid morning on Friday.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Here's the deal. I got a Friday football feast in
the studio. Paul Charchie is in town. There was a
surprise birthday party for me last night. He and Roxy
flew in for that. Stick around to Friday or yeah, Friday,
so he's going to be in studio for a little bit.
Young Alec will be here. So we've got a feast here.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Awesome.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Text me please if you can remember, or put it
on the tweet machine, which I look at more when
I'm in the studio than I do out side of
the studio, so we can pop it for you. Appreciate
that Bear's Twitter is bugging Nordo. Now, Nordo's the doom
scroller in the Covenant, and we are glad he is
because he finds things I miss.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Part of it.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
What's bugging him is Bears fans being allegedly being extremely
obnoxious on social media sites. Do you feel the same
way that Bears fans are being, like like they're acting
like being good? Is Maybe it's just with the Packers
because they've been beaten down for so many years through
the Aaron Rodgers years, or maybe Nordo can.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Speak for himself with the dooms wrong Weeken.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
What's getting under the skin of two of my dogs
with Bears fans.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
They're the worst.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Bears fans are the absolute worst. I'm a TikTok guy,
and my TikTok feed is just overrun by Bears fans
right now, and it's just it's so nauseating to listen
to these guys. They are they have no concept of reality.
And that's why I don't care if Green Bay wins
Saturday night. I want to go to Seattle and beat
that team, but just beat Chicago so I don't have

(27:01):
to deal with an off season of Bears fans beginning
with mister Lavelle you Neil the third, who's a card
carrying member of maxist Bears fans on social media.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
I can't. I can't deal with that.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
More than social media. He will send Nordo and I
a a video of him, like think Mike Reiko, old
Chicago columnist. You know that show they had the sports
reporters or whatever. Everybody had cigars. It was the og
show of the like people sitting down talking sports on
TV and original and and uh, he'll be smoking a
cigar like the old school columnists from the Chicago tribuner

(27:35):
sometimes and I don't even know what he says to us.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
I didn't watch the last one. The first one bugged
me so much.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
That he'll send us right after a Bears win like
they're like puff in them.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yeah, there was Kings of the North. There are Yeah,
it was just a ox. No, it's the thing for me.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
So as a Vikings fan, I got family who are
pack fans. We joke about you being the saltan, the smug,
all those things. I want my team to beat the
Packers every single time. That is my chief rivalry. But
just over the course of time, Packers fans, the ups
and downs, the bleep talking, it's all good. There's mostly
rational conversation that stems from that rivalry. Whether it's the

(28:15):
Kitties fans with the paper bags over their heads for
twenty five years and now suddenly they're a dynasty last
year yeah, and now the Bears fans for the last
four months. It disgusts me. It is absolutely unacceptable and
so therefore, as crazy as this sounds, your squad shoving
it right down their throats on Saturday evening and ending

(28:39):
their season and they can put it all back together again.
All respect to Ben Johnson and everybody involved. And Caleb's
not as bad as maybe I thought he was going
to be after seeing him last year. And we can
renew all those talkers at the debate at the State Fair.
I want the Bears to lose so badly on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Thinking about what you're saying, Yeah, I mean that's like
Thanksgiving Day looking at the table, deciding between what do
I want to eat first, the gross gizzard or the
cut up turkey beat.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
Well, in this case, I'll the beak. If I'm taking that, Gazers,
I'm taking the gizzard. The Bears are the beak, and
I want them to be silenced on Saturday night. I
can't wait for Jordan. I no, I'm not going to
go that far.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
That's too much. Never mind, never mind. I just I
hope the Bears lose.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Malik willis what got into him this year and has
he become legit a quality quarterback hundred percent?

Speaker 2 (29:27):
He will start. I think he'll start for somebody.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Ill get like thirty or forty million or something.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Yeah, it's funny because I thought before he got before
that last game, I thought he would get like a
ten to twelve million dollar deal to compete with somebody.
But after that game against Baltimore, I do think he
has a chance to get Darnald type money. If you're
Arizona Miami.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
One hundred million dollar deal. Well, I don't know that
he gets that much.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Maybe it's three years for eighty but I think he's
going to get significant money. What then, he's been training
under not only Mount Lafloor, but Tom Clement, a great
quarterback coach. Sean Manyon. He talked to a great quarterback
coach in the future. He's learned how to play in
every time. He came back to the Rogers right in
stage and he stayed. But he retired after this year.
He's done, and this one happening now, correct. I think

(30:11):
Tom clements super well respected. Remember if he's here this year,
if he quit after last year, manons in the in
the mix now too, Sean Manyon.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yeah. As a coach, Yeah, they love him. They think
he's a huge future as a quarterback. He does. Holy cow. Oh,
by the way, I don't want to forget this.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Somebody told me this a couple of days ago talking
about opening job openings around the NFL, and I didn't
see this one coming. Tell me if you've heard it
or read about it. Jeff Haffley. Hafley is is considered
head coaching material.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
In the NFL.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Did you know the defensive coordinator for the Packers, one
of my greatest actors, might get a job this year.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
I don't want to lose Jeff Haffley. I love you.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
There's somebody I know who hopes he does so he
can be on the staff.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
He was a leading contentant kidney with the Giants, like
he was being connected because yeah, that's the team that's
from New Jersey. The ownership went to BC, just like
where he coached.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
But now John Harbaugh's name is in the mixed. Mike
McCarthy is considered a favorite. I want teams to hands
off on Jeff Psky. I want him mating this defense
for a while. How healthy is your own line in
your defense?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
I think Zach Thomas back Saturday night, he's our best lineman.
That's huge. He's just the last month or so.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
Jenkins dead until next year, right, Jenkins dead and playing
for somebody else next year?

Speaker 2 (31:28):
He's a free agent? Jay, Yeah, he's out? How yeah?

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Dare you talk about Elton Jenkins? Just saying they're not
going to resign him. Gary's gonna be cut, Quay's probably
gonna be showing the door. There'll be some some changes.
They got guys to pay. Damn, Tucker Craft's got to
get paid because of.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
What you paid the quarterback. So that, well, no, it's true.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I mean it's like I have nothing against Jordan Love
and I'm not hitting him with an eight Aaron Rodgers
big box score bit that's gonna go. That didn't well,
no it didn't. It's quarters century later. It's till hear
about it. But it's that contracts. Eventually, if you try
to four to five the village, it ain't gonna be easy.
So that that was like the point I and everybody else.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
I mean, you have to draft well obviously when you
have a fifty million dollar quarterback. But I saved this
stat because I knew you're gonna go to Love at
some point. Not really, well, I just thought you might,
because everybody does with me. It's like, you know, I'm.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Not as predictable as you think. That's noon to three.
That might be true.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
But if there's a stat for qb EPA per play
per quarter, So who are the best quarterbacks quarter by quarter.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Over the whole season.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
If anybody's better than bow Nicks in the fourth quarter,
I got to hear it.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
This is this is all four quarters.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Okay, might be Kaal Drake May's number one point three one,
Jordia Love's number two point two nine, Party three, Stafford four,
Josh Allen five, and Love is the only one who's
top five in each of the four quarters. Right, So
there's a lot of slant. I got a lot of
slander for Jorda Love. He needs to win a big game.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
That's it. Just win a game that's significant, right, And
this is like Saturday night. He's won a playoff game.
It's his thirty years Star show ran for cat.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
You're right, he has to win another game. He's throwing
five picks in two playoff lots were starting.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
I'm starting to get frustrated. Why up again? Why why
are you frustrated?

Speaker 5 (33:09):
The cool thing good times bad times is if he
doesn't win a game and they get and they lose,
you'll get to keep Jeff Haffley as the new head
coach of the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
That's possible. I wouldn't hate that. I didn't think about that.
We gotta go. God bless you and your family.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Man.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
You two enjoy, enjoy the reason that they play these
games on Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I'm sure we'll talk next week.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Thanks buddy, see you brother for you David sinnecon at
TC head cheese back at alrighty, may God bless you
and all your families. Thanks for listening to nine to noon.
Back with you tomorrow when we rise and shine at
nine and I'm Paul Allen. Here comes big Daddy con
to put that or wrap on the show.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Time for two more. The game is over, good stuff.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
It's midweek season, over lamentation, the lockers cleaned out, feels.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Like time for vacation.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
It's nine in a radio man, it hurts like a mug.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
But breaking down the playoffs with the Sultan the smug,
of course, he feels good about the Bears and all
the pac fans that are shaped like pairs.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
While we're wondering what we have in ty Felton.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
He's talking about the loss of who Boat Melton and
taking talkbacks on the return of chains. Money's easy, no
need for Maynard Kaines. But while we kill these segments
about the.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
QB, we're watching other team buying for the trophies.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
On TV tomorrow, it's likely more of the same and
we'll pump it up for the Howl and the Wild Games.
He's an any presser, and then it's time to kick rocks.
Move on to next week's first Box in the Box.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
That's This Team is All About Defense Breaking HID podcast
