Speaker 1 (00:00):
Man, take charge, talk, crawl through the fog at dude,
show me a gam all the way. We're starters on.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Box June, My God, do we get out? Pa and Church?
Check me to charge fast?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Time I had a shot was the thousand and nine jumped.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Through the way he shot of the play the charge up.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
You fuck out?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Leonardsville sounds better and them Hello Paul Charchy and how
are you mister? Take me to charg My Good morning, Paul.
I am great because I'm talking to you. What what's
the weather like out the Utah Way? These days? Getting rain?
Which is not normal here?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
We haven't had much rain since I've moved here, basically,
but it's apparently we're in rainy season. So we are
sixty degrees int rizzling right now, again totally unique for
for the for the conditions here, but still warm and
it's beautiful.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Uh any regrets relocating? And how that badly? Do you
want to come back?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:12):
I miss I miss you, I miss my friends at
the station. I'm the listeners. I miss the feast. I
miss the ready availability of great restaurants, high end restaurants.
We want those, high end grocery, you want those like
I want a great. I want a great bag of
grapes where I am in Southern Utah.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
That's a total crapshoot.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Whereas you know, they are a plethora of great grocery
stores in.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
The Twin Cities.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
If I want to see Hayes Carl play at the
Amsterdam last night, no, can't do those. You know those
those bands don't come through Southern Utah. So those are
some of the things that I miss. But overall it's
still I still wake up and go my got them.
I'm I'm waking up and where people go to vacation. Yeah,
it's really it's really pretty great.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, it's beautiful. All right, football, How.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Is the By the way, hold on speaking of the feast,
did I hear you say correctly going into the break?
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah, that this week's feast is blame. Yeah, we're Blaine
and day after Thanksgiving, I believe we are mall of
a mehrikay what? Yeah, it's uh wow. Now Alverc is
back in play. Yeah, Power Trip's going to be there.
So maybe it's an all day show bit, maybe it's
(02:26):
just the first two shows. I don't know, but it's
day after Thanksgiving. M a for the feast and uh
and Blaine Tomorrow. Hey, who would you rather have? And why?
All right now, this is not fantasy, This is just
be an elite reality football mind. Who would you rather have?
And why? Drake may or bow Nicks. It's Drake Mayne.
(02:50):
It's not close. Why Drake may Is? He's well, he has.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Led a team with almost no help around, almost none.
He's still got a terrible offensive line. He's got one
functional receiver, stuffs who's coming off acl and he makes
bleep happen.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
It doesn't matter. From the locket.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
He is sprinting out right and he'll go run for
a first down or a throw on the run. He
has got He oozes leadership. He is scoring points that
bo Nicks is not. I mean, sooner or later Bonix
needs to throw touchdowns. That's not happening. It is Drake
may Is. Right now, if you're going to get the
MVP to anybody, let alone the two players that we're
(03:32):
talking about in this carslation, Drake may is at or
near the top of the MVP voting.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
It's it's not close.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
And maybe he got some conditioning at North Caroline where
he had a terrible offensive line, and that guy did
what he had to do to survive and win.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
He's doing that now with the Patriots.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
And you can see a scenario where, even if this
year isn't a super Bowl year for Drake May, in
this offseason they fortify the offensive line again, which they
did a little bit this past offseason, and to add
a wide receiver to a defense it's already number one
against the run. And now you've got a legitimate super
Bowl team next year for Dirick May. That the Patriots
(04:09):
look like they're going to head for another long run
of great play.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Paul, Okay, now what about this one? What about who
would you rather have him? Why? Running back Trevion Henderson
or running back o'marian Hampton? Who should return next week?
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Well, okay, I mean the temptation is to say Henderson
because we've seen him recently.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Hampton has played in I don't know, seven weeks.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
But what Hampton had showed before he got hurt was
that he looked like a re course back that I
don't think Trevan Henderson is tre Van Henderson, slider of build,
special back, incredible burst, he can catch, but I don't
think he's twenty five touches a game, eye and Hampden
can be.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
He can be a power runner.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Of which the league has only got like four or
five of Hampton's got that kind of upside. So I
think I think I would take Hampton a Treviaan Henderson
for the Patriots has looked really good. Romandre Stevens expected
back this week, and presumably they're gonna go right back
to the time share, to frustrating time share that fantasy
players hate.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Okay, Paul Charchiam, by the way, via x via Twitter
at Paul Charchia at Paul Charchia, follow him if you're
so inclined as nine to Noon does so. Buffalo's at
the Houston Texans tonight. Covenant collapse. We got Covenant collaps
for charts right here. Okay, four years late, but you
nailed that. Davis Mills day.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
I was, you know, I was when I was thinking
about this game and some topics that we could talk
about for this game. I was thinking about exactly that,
and I'm glad you were too pre draft. I'm like,
this Davis Mills guy looks like he could be an
NFL quarterback. I'm not saying he's looked better than Davis C. J.
Stroud in the last three games. But he's looked good,
(06:02):
ye and he's doing exactly what I would do, Paul.
If I were Davis Mills as a backup quarterback and
I'm trying to put together some tape that could keep
me in the league for years to come, I.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Would throw too Nicocollins all the time.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
And that's what he's done these last three games since CJ.
Strouds had his concussion. It's been eleven targets to Nicocollins.
Fifteen targets and eleven targets. That's what I would do
as well. And I think you're gonna see plenty of
Nico Collins. He's the only game breaker they've really got
on offense. And none of the Buffalo cornerbacks are particularly good.
You know they've dusted off for Darius White and you
(06:37):
know they don't. There's nothing special there. You're gonna see
a lot of Nico Collins to night. Now probability, who's
the so who's the Texans lead back? Is it something
called Woody Marks? It is it Woody Marks? And he's
pretty good? Okay, there's been this transition from Nick Chubb
to Woody Marks. Marx has gotten triple the usage over
(06:57):
the last three weeks. And here's what's going out with Buffalo.
For There's been a lot of talk about Buffalo in
their struggling season, inconsistent season, no very little talk about
the real problem for Buffalo. They can't stop the run.
They are an awful run defense. Last week, Sean Tucker
put up one hundred and forty yards and scored three
(07:19):
times on them.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Week before that, Devon a Chan.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Two hundred and twenty five yards and two touchdowns against Buffalo.
They've allowed rushing touchdown in eight straight games. Woody Marx,
who is traditionally in most fantasy leagues, we've been put
We've had him on the bench and he did flopping
it in a pretty favorable matchup against the Titans last week.
But this is this is an easier one. Buffalo's worse
than the Titans against the run. And you're gonna see
(07:43):
You're gonna see a good Woody mark a coming night,
I believe.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, That's why I was setting it up, because this
Buffalo run defense is just so sketchy. Nordo, what about
Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Everyone's hot off the the three passing tds, the three
rushing tds over the weekend. But but the Texans do
statistically have the best defense in the NFL. Is this
a trouble spot for mister Allen? People like me needing
Josh to come up big. I need points from the
QB spot. Is Josh Allen the answer?
Speaker 2 (08:10):
And Josh Allen lifetime o for three at NRG Stadium
completion percentage forty six. I mean that includes a playoffs game. Yeah,
he's been awful against the Texans on the road. I
had I did not know that.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
I knew he faced Houston last year and Josh Allen
passed for one hundred and thirty one yards on one touchdown.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Here's how good.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
You mentioned Houston's the best defense, and they are probably
the best defense in the league. They are top three
in rushing yards allowed, passing yards allowed, and points allowed.
That probably makes you the best defense in the league.
Here's what they're doing to opposing passers. No opposing quarterback
has topped two hundred and thirteen yards.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
In seven straight games.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Two thirteen is nothing, and seven straight quarters have been
under it. They've given up just ten passing touchdowns in
ten games this year. No opposing quarterback has scored a
rushing touchdown against Houston. Of course, with Josh Allen, that's
a lot of what we're here for is that Khalil
Shakir may not play in this game or will be
playing hurt. This is there is nothing to like about
(09:21):
this game for Josh Allen. So normally somebody that's it
every week rolling in as a top three, top four
fantasy quarterback.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
This week he's quarterback eight for.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Me, and that's only it's only as high as eight
on the hope that he does get the first touchdown
that any quarterbacks had on the ground against Houston.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Hey, charge, I mean we're seeing some movement at the
quarterback spot specifically this week, whether it's Pennix he's got
the third knee situation with the ACL, You're seeing schaduor
start for the Browns. Although the fantasy feasting in Cleveland
has not been great this year, but Burrow returning to
practice in Cinci and the implications of that, like what
pops in your head when you think maybe we just
(09:58):
start with Kirk for instance, and Drake lun in pits,
et cetera. How does that impact Bjeon's usage, et cetera
with the Falcons. So Kirk Sitrick.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
One he's just coming off last week when we had
put in a fair amount of time. I thought he
played as well as we've seen him play since the injury.
But in totality, Cousins is not able to listen to
this offense. He's played seventeen rives year, one touchdown so far.
His completion r down is longer than nine yards, which
(10:31):
is not very far. Longer nine is not a big ask.
Twenty eight cent completion rate now longer than nine yards.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
No, Drake London, this sweet work.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
So the real fantasy angle I think with Kirk is
more what does it mean for Jon Robinson? Because we
care a lot about Bjohon Robinson and what he's gonna do.
I'm afraid every opponent's gonna walk in with a game
plan to simply stop John Robinson and take the chances
on Kirk beating. I looked up every played by Jon
Robinson has had with Kirk Cousins at the Helm this year,
(11:02):
He's touched the ball sixteen times. He's averaging two hundred
marriage per carry zero touchdowns. So Baijon may have to
have some games where he just has to be super human,
which he can do because he is that good he
can be superhuman, but he can't be every game, and
some defense is going to shut him down. And I
think we're going to look with as we broughten out
our view of the rest of the season for Vijon,
(11:23):
I think there's just gonna be some dud games coming
where defenses do whatever it takes to stop him.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
With Burrow charge, you know, I haven't followed it deeply
enough to say like, here's how Jamar Chase has struggled
for fantasy players or t Higgins, here's where he has
had the advantage, you know, from browning into the Flacco games,
et cetera. But that's just the prospect for a bad
team in the fan base maybe finding hope with their
version in number nine taking the field again. What does
(11:50):
that mean? Could he should he come back and play?
I think Burrow's going to play this week. Flacco might
be in worse shape with his shoulder injury than Burrow
is with his toe injury. So I think base on
we know right now which could change.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
I think it's going to be Joe Burrow here and
now he won't have Jamar Chase because of the spinning suspension.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah, I can't.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Imagine either of you have ever spit off somebody out
of her?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Is that safe to say?
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I don't want to go never.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
No, I've been spit on. Yeah, I think I've definitely
been spit on. Eighty three, I got spit on and
had Lucia's Tisdale beat somebody up for me.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yeah. Yeah, I've never been a fighter per se, but
I've asked for it a number of times.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
The guy, the guy you know the electric but the
electric football game where you got the guys with the
nice bases and stuff like that. Yeah, I mean, surely,
God Rest her Soul was paying, was paying called hard
cash for those special bases to be sent to me
so I could win these games. And Myles Spires tried
to steal my superstar basses. We got an argument, spit
(12:56):
in my face. I had Lucius Tisdale beat him up.
That's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
I would rather someone take a swing at me charge
than actually spit in my face. I think that's as
degrading and awful as it gets.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
I think there's the response that you the appropriate response
somebody's spitting on you is just stop swinging it, right.
I mean, I think at that point you're in the
right at that stage.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
So guitar will.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Not play in this game. Joe Burrow will be a quarterback.
It's the Patriots. We've already talked a little bit about
the Patriots. This is their run defence is phenomenal. And
so what teams do is they pass a lot, and
we're going to see a lot, potentially a lot of passing.
Joe Burrow, it's going to have to go a lot
to Tee Higgins. Higgins has got a tricky individual matchup
against cornerback Christian Goazalz, who's awesome and I think will
(13:44):
shadow Higgins. And so that means Burrow's going to be
challenged to go get Andre Jose Abash or Mitchell Tinsley involved,
which I don't love those matchups. Maybe you know, for Burrow,
we just let this one play out. This is a
tough matchup. You don't have Jamar Chase. He needs to
shake off ten weeks of rust. Maybe you don't start
him here, We wait more week and see what we've
(14:06):
got next week.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
All right, we know you have four and a half
minutes with this busy Fantasy Thursday, so let's fly through
some vikings at Green Bay and Fantasy Steamers all right
from that game. Now, let me lead into it with this.
Justin Jefferson has not had a one hundred or more
yard game this year since Cleveland. That's the longest route
(14:27):
of his career. Are we for sure using Justin? This weekend?
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Justin has fallen out of absolute sure thing lock fantasy
starting status. I mean before it was just muscle. He's
in my lineup, that's it, and he didn't even think
twice about it. Where we are nal Jefferson, which is
it's not disaster grade stuff.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
He's my wilde eighteen this week.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
But at eighteen, there's a chance you've got other receivers
that just give you more upside than what we've been
able to get out of Justice Jefferson, which obviously has
not been the not been the fans or Jews that
we want, even if even if the target nurse have
looked good and God bless JJ McCarthy's doing. He's getting
(15:11):
the ball to his best receiver, which I you know,
obviously I would do. But just the two touchdowns so
far through ten games. You mentioned UH has diminishing numbers
over the past three weeks. There's a dance that you've
got to you've got a situation you're like, Okay, Ted
McMillan or Justin Jefferson. Those that used to be an
(15:32):
obvious question. It not anymore. Jamison Williams for the Lions,
Justin Jefferson, DeVante Smith or Justin Jefferson, Roma Dunes or
Justin Jefferson. Those are those now much of her questions
than they were used to be.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Aaron Jones had won forty from scrimmage against those guys
last year, didn't score when Darnold ripped them up twenty
eight zero at a half time, though, what does one
do with Aaron, Especially if.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
You're in PPR, you're getting points per reception. We're going
to continue to play Aaron. I would love to see.
He's been targeted six times and six times the last
two games.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Those are great target.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Numbers, and honestly, I think, to my I think I
think Aaron Jones since coming back from his injury, I
think he's looked pretty spry, don't you agree. I think
he's brought He's brought some energy to the field. He's
always had great footwork and I like what I've seen
from him, and he's clearly developed into the preferred back
over Jordan Mason.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Does that all feel fair to you?
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Well, you know what about ten to fifteen minutes from now,
you'll hear a five minute conversation I recorded in the
locker room yesterday with Aaron Jones, and we talked about
his return and the evolution of his hams during since
his return. So that's around the corner. Darnald had three touchdowns,
including one rushing at Tennessee last year. I'd use him
(16:50):
for sure this week, Darnald. In fact, I'd elevate him
over some quarterbacks that you're kind of like, wow, Well,
I mean, I use this guy every week. Here's why.
Because this is a more pressure free game than last
week against the Rams. You know you can count on
old Sammy in those games. Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
I was really hoping, Paul that Sam would shape the
narrative of.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
He can't held pressure.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
It's you get to you, if you're if you rattle,
that he's gonna's devolve. And I a Samdunel defender this year.
I thought his love play had been staying m VP
level until last week and then the the the.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Old narrative got again.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
And I just want to leave that Sam still has
a lot of room to get better, and against Tennessee
it probably it probably does get better. The tennis pat
events is not horrible, but not close to what Sam
just saw. And Tennessee is you know, Tennesse season where
once again I think Sam gets on track. Don't do
not make a mistake of just replaying last week's box score.
(17:55):
You can absolutely get Sam Donald back into your lineups.
He is my quarterback nine this week.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
God bless you Roxy and your family. We obviously are
off next Thursday, so we will chat with you in
a couple of weeks. Thank you very much for the time,
and have a good day. Okay you are thus Tuch
later Man.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Bye, bye, Pa and Chart. All right, it's eleven twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Good morning. Spent some of the VMD the Vocal Maidenance Day,
taking in some hot walk through action at Twin Cities
or at the PDCH Performance Center and watching the Purple
and Gold plan start to unfurl for Lambeau. You see,
only seven to go and the local team is a
long shot for the postseason until they show all of
(19:15):
us consistency start rattling off some games, then the conversation
and the narrative changes, and if they don't make the playoffs. Poof.
Just think about this for a second and we're excited,
you know, to hone in more on the howl, Christmas colors,
motsco everything. Oh yeah, yeah, that's great. Love them all,
(19:38):
love them all. But just listen to this and if
they don't make the playoffs, poof. Yeah, it's gone in
a month and a half and doesn't heat up again
for many months.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
Now.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
I thought of you when I wrote that, well, because
I know it saddens you.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yes, I just think it sad from the optimism two
years ago of this team is going to target a
quarterback in the draft going into twenty twenty four, and
think about the offseason talkers there into off season into
twenty twenty five, the optimism of the healthy QB. If
we don't find our way into the playoffs and it
(20:19):
goes poof and it's over and we see some of
what we've been seeing, those talkers are going to be ugly, man.
I mean that's gonna be. It's gonna be two and
a half months of it.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Might cause me to start taking phone calls again and
calling to the Vikings radio network.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
I'm gonna add to ratiare Wire my neurological freaking path.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
I might actually look at six four six eighty six
for the first time in my life.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I don't know if we want to do that, but
you know, we'll love talkbacks, we'll have and we'll and
we'll have Motsko's team.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
We'll stop thinking about it, all right, Fine. Jordan Love
as a starter I shared this earlier. Jordan Love is
a starter from week twelve on twenty five touchdowns and
just one pick. So I guess this is when he
puts the pedal to the medal. Yeah, that's what they
tell me. So we'll see all about that this weekend.
(21:09):
And how about this with our guy JJ McCarthy. The
first two possessions of his five starts, his passer rating
is one twenty five point nine and his yards per
attempt eight and change. Those are both top five in
the NFL. Thank you, Spearfish. And we know from Soldier
Field the final two drives last Sunday and for long
(21:33):
patches in that Lions game, big boy can absolutely handle pressure. Yeah,
so how do we fix the in between when he's
like thirty five percent on third down and just throwing
more picks than touchdowns? Anybody have that answer.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I don't have that answer, and I don't either, And
we roll in here with Lieber and he's like, well,
it's the middle thirty. The middle thirty. Middle thirty games
are only sixty Oh that's half the game. Yeah, it's
said so to have the game throw all that out,
as we talked about, and I thought liber put it
perfectly just from my mindset, like I got, I got
(22:09):
fatigue right now when it comes to neurological pathways and
footwork and hips turning and shoulder heights and all of
that and arm angles, et cetera. Hm, I'm just really
pumped to see JJ McCarthy play at Lambeau. Yeah, and
I want to see you, and I want to see growth.
I want to see growth. I don't care about that.
I don't I don't care about the leg angles and
width and all those. I just want to see growth.
(22:30):
That's all it is. Somewhere in the middle thirty. I
woult have touched down shortly before half. How about the
first possession of the third quarter, team goes a plays
seventy five yards and scores a TD like that. That's
gonna be cool if that happens to Lambeau on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
I mean it's I can't say things are so hot
with this and with him, I mean things are tenuous. Yeah,
when to when you know? When the two whom much
is given much as expective narrative is known in hearts
by many within the Egan facility, and they genuinely care
(23:04):
and they're super gifted and super talented. But it's four
and six and we have neurological pathways. Neurological pathways have
now entered the chat in a brain related form of
bilateral leg weakness. When that first hit, Joe Maher and
people were like, what bilateral leg weakness.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Are like load management in the NBA general soreness?
Speaker 2 (23:28):
There you go, well, what's his injury? Lower body? Okay, cool,
there's a lot with the lower bodies. Lower body, Okay, cool,
let's let's talk about gi La fleur.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
It.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
It's why I bring that up is because like I'm
not big time second guessing guy, and you know certainly
I mean Tuesday when we were talking to O'Connell and
I was sharing, well, the last game is the first
game that he didn't run and pretty pretty staunch stern
pocket price. Okay, Well, I mean we also know either
(24:03):
because it has been said publicly or I over shared
that the head coach is purposely making things challenging for him. Yes,
to raise the kid quarterback and expedite the process, and
this plebain easy.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
I think in his own way, he's been kind of
forthright about that.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Sure, that's great. I mean, he knows more about it
than nuts, and he's proven and he has a ring
end of story. Boxbox boxbox boxbox box. That's a box. However,
I just like when he does the raid option. Yeah,
I mean, I'm the one that three months before the
season said, you know, if he runs for three first
downs a game, we're we're in fine battle.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
And I agree with that. Do you think that the
coach he talked about, you know, JJ's like I take
my dog for walks. I get an extra ten reps
in Do you think he has like some sort of
like a shot collar.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
That was if he.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Leaves the pocket, there's an invisible fence, hips go.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
The wrong way and dog runs in the street and
here come cars. Yeah. I was wondering the other day.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
I'm like, how hands on I think I texted you this,
How hands on is maccown? Like, where is Josh McCown
in this process, and.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Were you setting up a bit with that. I understand
what you were.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
I was going to go a direction and I second Yeah,
I just had a second thought on it because I
was just I was just negative when I heard these
press conference audio bits and it was driving me insane.
I'm just I wonder if McCown's there, he's got the
remote to the collar.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
The kid looked I was three feet away from him
when he was talking about the neurological pathways. Yes, I
mean again, I'm not looked into his eyes, and I
know this is right. He's just tired. Yeah, he just is.
It's the pop or lack thereof, and the voice, ruddy cheeks, yeah,
(25:45):
curly hair coming out of the hat, oh yeah, rounded
shoulders just like a kid is a kid.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
He's a kid, a kid at a time, and I
think he's saying things. I had to walk away.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
I mean, I like, after the neurological pathways thing hit, yeah,
and I mean I didn't like right, I just you know,
picked up my bag and just like walked into the
locker room.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
The way I see the kid, I think he's honest.
I think he says what he believes. I don't see him.
I don't see a performative angle of it. I also
see a kid that's just never been thrust in this
spot before.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
And I see.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
That's why I hated the nine bit, Yeah, because I
just I think it's of the same mental origins.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
And nine is look at me, look at me. He's
not look at me, look at me. He's ruddy cheeks,
curly hair coming out of the ball cap kid at
the time.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah, and he's and he's been raised almost in a
laboratory to be a starting quarterback, and now he's here
and it is not going perfectly.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
So just go play.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Just forget the neurological pathways, turn that old brain off,
and let her rip on Sunday. And I think that's,
in itself, just a simple recipe for success.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
I like the raid option. Read option would be sweet.
I like when he runs.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
I do too.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
He's fast, he's fast, and he's smart, he can slide responsibly.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
In fairness, I would say, let's put that trick play
with the throat.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Go back to.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Where we get him running the ball on a third
and eleven with o lineman blocking in front of him,
and then he dives head first and takes a bad hit.
If we can just move that play to maybe the
very back of the playbook and then and then do
maybe some different type of run opportunities.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, if you walk between segments, let me show you
the play and.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Show you I know there was a blocking now, oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
But if there wasn't, there's a td W Ted Wright.
But I get you though, all right, Aaron Jones, we
got border battle this weekend. Aaron Jones runs with He
runs with McCarthy Byron Murphy Junior will be charged with
hampering Jordan Love So yours truly walked around the locker
(27:44):
room yesterday with the drive by contraption and just started
with Aaron recalling the reception the former packer received last
year at lambeau Field.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Yes, sir, they really did.
Speaker 6 (27:55):
It was a special moment for me, something I'll always remember,
chair and I thank them for that as well.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Did you did you expect anything different like when you
ran out? I mean you go down those long, treacherous
stairs that the visitors, as you learn, go down. Did
you think it would be different?
Speaker 5 (28:11):
I really didn't know what to expect.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
I didn't know if I was gonna get cheers, if
I was gonna get booed mixed reviews. I didn't know,
but a lot of people told me, hey, no, they'll
receive you.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Well.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
So, but kind of walking down the stairs, I'm like,
how is this about to turn out?
Speaker 2 (28:26):
What? What? What do you remember about that game? Because
it was a crazy game. Man. You guys jumped them
twenty eight zero, then they come charging back at you.
Oh yeah, it was back and forth.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
We got up early and you can never never too high,
never too low. This the NFL, and everybody's good. So
you say, you may see a twenty point, twenty eight
point lead, twenty seven point lead, and it becomes a
game at the end. Most games come down to a
one possession game. But ultimately with fun, he was glad
to come out on the right side of it. And uh,
(28:56):
next time, we just got to put them away early.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
And for you, I mean played in the playoffs. Man,
if you've had some really good games and big moments
all of your career, but from a surreal standpoint, or
just like a weird feeling of looking around at Lambeau
Football Americana and you're wearing the different colors, I mean,
what was that Like?
Speaker 6 (29:13):
Yeah, I hadn't had that feeling before, just or even
just going into another stadium with the other fans cheering
for your calling your name and you're wearing a different jersey.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Uh So that was very.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
New for me.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
But I definitely felt the love and I got nothing
but love for them, Tumar.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
And thanks for the time you you went for like
I think it was like one forty from scrimmage total.
Didn't get into the end zone. Though, you didn't get
into the end zone. I'll just leave it right there.
I know you want to score there right got to.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
I got to you gotta.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Sniffed end zone. I gotta smell, I gotta get in there.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
If I don't do anywhere, that's definitely a place that
I want to do with the most.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
So you gotta find a way and and and obviously
depending on how the game goes, I mean, lambeau leaps,
making vaults, call them whatever you want. I mean, if
you're losing and your score, you know, you got to
think about that. But if the situation works out and
you get into the end zone, you guys are winning,
it's a big moment or whatever. Are you leaping up
there one hundred doing to big vault. Lastly, you know,
(30:16):
you've not played several games since coming back from that hamstring,
and I don't know what it's like to be a
high octan athlete like you, but like when you come
back from something, I can't imagine it's ten of ten
right when you get back. I mean, has it been
a little bit of a process to get the hamstring
and the mind meshing together? And if so, where are
you now?
Speaker 5 (30:37):
It definitely has been a process. Like you said, you
got to make.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
That muscle of mind connection, especially after coming back from injury.
You still may feel it at toimes. You may feel it,
grab feel like you're gonna maybe re injure yourself, so
you kind of like kind of trying to protect yourself
at Tom's. But I feel like I'm kind of getting
past that now and really starting to be.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
Able to run how I want to run.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Kind of had to tempo it down the past couple
of weeks and couldn't get to full speed, well my
top speed. I wouldn't say full speed, but my top speed.
So now I feel like I'm turning the corner on
that and it's no better time than now to.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
Be getting over it.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
So is mom coming this weekend.
Speaker 6 (31:16):
Mom would be there. She's already there. She's already there.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Wow. I mean, with all due respect to green Bay,
Applechin and every Wisconsin down, is that where she lives?
Because I'm saying, like getting there to that state and
that early. I mean, what do you do she is?
Speaker 6 (31:31):
So she's back and forth between here and Green Bay.
She still works in Green Bay. She works at the
airport there, so maybe seeing her flying out Monday, but yeah,
she works for United there probably twice a week and
then the rest.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
Of the time she's here.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Well, now you gotta score.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
I got to multiple times showtime.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
He's Byron Murphy Junior who loves playing the lambeau Field
And that's how we started that chat.
Speaker 7 (31:58):
Yes, definitely, I'm always so you know, this is another
division game almost with Mason plays out there. Got to
go out there and do the same thing. But yeah, yeah,
definitely always, you know, go out there and it's a battle.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
I'll never forget chatting with you in the locker room
at Green Bay last year. It was such a strange
game for you because you were having a tough time
and they just kept going at you and then all
of a sudden he throws up one of those punchs,
you pick it off and it's like you got your
confidence and then you you've caused a major force fumble.
I think on Tucker Kraft, I mean, have you You
probably haven't had many up and down single days like
(32:30):
that in your career, have you?
Speaker 5 (32:31):
No, definitely not.
Speaker 7 (32:32):
And obviously remembering that game, going back, I remember on
that wheel, round number eleven scored on me. So I
went in a half time like, okay, they keep trying me.
They had obviously they scored on me. I'm gonna go
back out there, obviously, go make plays. Obviously, not you know,
waiting patiently that those plays come. Obviously the second half
came out there, Mayson plays and then had to punch
out as well. So the obviously, yeah, game b like
that definitely brings you confidence as a DV to go
(32:53):
out there and make a play.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Does the does the zero interceptions at this point weigh
on you?
Speaker 5 (32:59):
Definitely?
Speaker 7 (33:00):
Obviously there's something you know that stays in my mind. Obviously,
something you know, I gotta you know, not trying to
force anything, but go out there, you know, try to
make that play for the team. Obviously, that's you know,
like I said, it's been on my mind. I've been,
you know, trying to even get a turnover either punch out,
pick anything. But obviously I feel like they're gonna come, obviously,
but right now, definitely not happy to it.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
But see the reason I brought it up is because
I watch all these things back and it's not and
that you don't have much opportunity. I mean, there hasn't
been as much opportunity this year. You know, It's not like,
you know, we've had ten thrown at you and you're
dropping them, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
Definitely targets.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
Yeah, I haven't got really many targets this year, but
obviously the ones that do come, I gotta go make
a play. I remember, like the Eagles, I'm not gonna
forget to see the first target.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
I got a J. Brown scored, so stuff like that.
I got to go make the play.
Speaker 7 (33:43):
But obviously, knowing targets an't going, I gotta go find
a way to make one.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
How how do they like to play? I mean are
they balanced? Like when when they're going when they're going good?
What are they doing?
Speaker 7 (33:51):
They got a lot of weapons. I would say I
got a lot of good receivers. Obviously Jordan Love a
great quarterback who will make any throw in the field.
But yeah, I think they do a good job by
spreading the ball, those guys all around, you know, getting
them touches obviously tied in kind of. He's banged up
out for the season, so the next guy up, you know,
he's trying to get the ball to everybody.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
So that's just a good thing to know. As a DV.
You got to be on your toes.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
What what's it been like having Isaiah around this year.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
It's been great. That's my that's my god, that's my buddy,
that's my best friend. We keep saying, we always joking around,
but his presidence here been obviously helping the young guys
as well. He played a lot of ball, always talking
about getting the Super Bowl because he won the Super Bowl,
so I gotta get one too. But no, he's been
a good, great teammate, a great guy in our room. Obviously,
one of the leaders in our room as well.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Last one and earlier, you said, you know, like I
asked you about the zero and you know, you said,
you know, staying within the confines of what you're asked
to do, you know, because human nature gets to win
too sometimes. So I mean sometimes you see things and
you think, you know, you probably want to jump it,
but you don't want to jump it for yourself to
get maybe number one. And is that how it works.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
It's definitely how it works.
Speaker 7 (34:52):
Obviously, this is a team game, so you know, you
got to stick to your assignments always, you know, the
little things. You know, say one of the little things,
I try to go make a play outside of out
of the call, that's gonna be you know, that's one
of the biggest plays I could have had the whole game.
That's gonna mess up the game. So those little details,
those little moments, I got it. Like I said, I
got just stay patient. Obviously not happy like obviously coming
off last year all those things, by trying to not
to look past. So I'm just to you know, obviously
(35:15):
gonna make plays, but definitely got to go go make some.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Yes, sir, God blessing, good luck, sir.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
Thank you appreciating.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Byron Murphy Junior. After Aaron Jones, let's get a Jones touchdown,
a lambo a Byron Murphy Junior interception, get off the
Schneid call it a Sunday back. After that, okay, Alex
Buffalo Wild Wings blame for the feast tomorrow. There's there.
There are some takes bouncing around to underestimate Jordan Love
(35:42):
at at somebody's own risk. Many think he can be
elite and and some people want to call them crazy,
but they say he has it. The pocket movement, the accuracy,
the touch, the arm, talent, it's all there. Uh. Can't
give him time, you can't let him get in rhythm.
If he does, if he does that, look out, do
(36:03):
you do you feel that way?
Speaker 8 (36:05):
That's really good analysis. Not sure where you uncovered that,
and maybe it was at the Athletic dot com uh
at the Athletic Uh. But yeah, I I am of
the opinion that Jordan Love is good. It's interesting because
there are times when you watch him and you're like,
what what is the deal here? But overall, I think
(36:26):
Jordan Love is very talented. I've talked to people inside
the building who in in in Egan, who think he's talented.
So yeah, I I I'm, I'm this is an interesting
one this weekend and and uh we'll be talking about
in Blaine.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
I think yep, see at Buffalo Wild Wings Blaine. Rumor
has it there will be another high school marching band.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
That that happened years ago when Lake Phil South started it.
Then everybody started to show up. So if if the
Blaine High School band is there, uh, we will welcome
them with open ears and arms and we will thoroughly enjoy.
Speaker 8 (37:00):
Right and yeah, and I think by the end, I mean,
if the bands are gonna keep showing up, we're gonna
put I'll put together a power rankings at the athletic
of the high school bands at the Buffalo Wild Wings.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
And I think we can do that the best. I'm
heading out there after the show. I'll see you in
a little bit, all right, yep, bye bye, see you, buddy.
Thanks for the good times today. Alec Lewis with the
Nordo and yours truly Buffalo Wild Wings blame for the
Friday football Buffalo Wild Wings blame. Now, Dan called the
(37:35):

plenty about that around the corner at FM one hundred
point three KFA. And I'm Paul Allen, God bless all
