Apple Valley.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
You're on deck for the feast this week and joined
Pa Norda, who are both in the studio, and Alec
Lewis is Friday Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple Valley to you
ready for vikings Giants plus ray eats your shot at
prizes all morning long, doors open at eight am.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
All the details KFA dot com key recount.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Indeed a feast on Friday Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple Valley
order in the promotion there, That's what made me happy.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Yeah, And during the vikings last night we have a read,
you know, like between plays and stuff like that. One
of them promoted the feast and it had Eric Nordquist,
Alec Lewis, and Paul Allen at the Friday football Feast
Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple Valley. So I don't know to
whom you spoke with the Purple and Gold, but it

(00:47):
worked because I had producers in all the promotions. Yeah,
I mean that first one is joined Alec Lewis and
Paul Allen at Buffalo Wild Wings and you're like, what happened, guys,
I'm there too.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I'm there too, joining us now as as he has
done for many many years, long before I was I
was hanging out with Pa nine to noons Century Dave
sinekon quarter Century Hippie Brother. I think you might refer
to him as host of in the Zone, host of
Packer Preview, host of Packer Review, a podcast available via

(01:22):
the free iHeartRadio app at tc head Cheese via X.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
How you doing this morning, Dave?

Speaker 5 (01:29):
Oh, it's just a fabulous Monday, boys.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
How we doing well?

Speaker 3 (01:32):
I mean, you know, we're our teams are that we
did find a victory last night, quarterbacks taking some steps,
et cetera.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
We're kind of excited about maybe some optimism.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
You got that football juggernaut, the IU Hoosiers, Miles Price's
former school. I'll wait waiting for Oklahoma. Well, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
You got a lot going for you, ma'am. You know
Dave as name Clem Sorry.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Including this tweet from an hour ago. My thoughts on
the packs fading Super Bowl hopes after yesterday's crushing, injury
filled day in Denver are available at zonecoverage dot com.
He already went to the crushing Super Bowl hopes. Yeah,
I was already thinking about the wild card round. But anyway, ye, well.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
I'm just gonna leave it to you as we would
do nine to noon, Pa, the Davenport of Love, Dave,
take it away. Your squad loses thirty four to twenty
six at the Mile High and the Broncos yesterday the
news of course really headlining with Micah Parsons, but injury
filled day kind of the theme that led to that
loss and maybe that piece on zone coveragehere's your head

(02:35):
at Yeah, man, it.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Was such a tail at two halves. Man, you go
into halftime, will lead two hundred and fifty yards of
offense in the first half against that defense. Love was
seventeen for twenty one for two fifteen and a touchdown,
and everything was looking good, I mean, getting the ball
back to start the second half, feeling really good about
this day in Denver, and then as soon as the

(02:59):
second half starts, Laflour takes a deep shot with Watson
Desert Tan, which I don't blame him for that. The
look was right, let's go and get the third quarter dagger,
and everything changed. Stan gets the pick, Watson lands on
his chest and is out for the game, and things
deteriorated from there. Obviously, my Super Bowl fading hopes is

(03:21):
all revolved around Michael Parsons. Obviously, I still think this talent,
this roster is enough to be an NFC contender for sure.
But you lose Michael Parsons, Let's not kid ourselves. It's
gonna be a tough road. But then you look at
what added up, right tackles Zach Tom went out Suddenly
they couldn't protect Love in the second half. Emerging safety

(03:42):
Evan Williams goes out with a knee injury. You know,
you start to add him up. You know, Parsons and
Craft and Shankin's and Wyatt all lost for the season,
and now some other guys here at the end. It's
just at some point, it's just you know, you guys
know a fan, you know when the when the injuries
pile up, when you're a team that's you know, heading
into was the third pick to win a Super Bowl

(04:02):
in the NFL, and it all goes pear shaped in
one afternoon. It's it's a gut punch. Now they're not
going to give up. They're still favored to beat Chicago
Saturday night. There's still a ninety five percent chance, I think,
to reach the playoffs and all that if they would
one of their last three. But you know, obviously losing
Micaeh Parsons is just just a punch, and it's not
what you get up really easily from.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
I'm not you know, I'm not. I'm not going to
prognosticate what's going to happen over the final three for
green Bay with the way you laid out those injuries.
The Bears game clearly will be difficult, but I mean,
you know, Green Bay feels good about scheming against that team.
Then you get the Ravens, and the Ravens know if
they went out, they win the AFC North. So I
don't exactly know what went into their victory over Cincinnati yesterday.

(04:47):
And I don't think the Ravens are that good, so
I mean, i'd pick you in that game. But the
Ravens know if they win their final three games that
they're going to make the playoffs as a division champion.
And then you get the border battle to close it,
and it's a border battle and and who knows what
will happen there. But that schedule was a little tricky
at the end, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Yeah, it's tricky. I mean, Baltimore on a Saturday night
at Lambeau in December. We'll see how they enjoy the
cold weather and how Lamar deals with that. I don't
know if Cincinnati had any interest in playing yesterday. That
was a non competitive football game. Baltimore. I watch a
lot of it. Baltimore did look very good. But yeah,
I mean, I just, you know what, great we get
to the playoffs, we'll see what happens and everybody has

(05:26):
a chance and all that. It's just everything was lined
up so nicely. You know, you had a quarterback playing
at a you know, an MVP conversation level. You had
a defensive player who was just making things brutal for
whatever quarterback he faced. And as a fan, it's just
fun to watch those guys compete with a chance to
win at the highest level. And when you lose that
guy and all fan bases have dealt with it, just

(05:49):
it's disappointing because you're so close to the end and
the chance is right there in front of you. So yeah,
I mean, I give the Green Band a chance on Saturday,
obviously against Chicago, but you know, injuries aside, it is
difficult to beat a team twice in three weeks with
so much on the lines. It's gonna be a tough
put for the Pack on Saturday night and that they
do lose Saturday. Yeah, I'll like the chances a week

(06:10):
later again Baltimore. But yeah, it's just the endgame is
not as promising as it was at about I don't know,
five o'clock yesterday afternoon. Everything changed so quickly and so
many guys went down. It's just like, all right, someone's
telling us this is not going to be our year.
And they did it all in one day. It was
just tough to watch.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Last thing for you here, and I appreciate you doing
this Cynicon is you do weekly, but let's take it
one into time. You're kind of in that mode. So
now it's beat the Bears and without Parsons. Is there
somebody you're thinking that this guy has to have a game,
This guy has to have moments. I look at like
Edrin Cooper, who I think has been really productive, but
you just haven't seen him maybe splash as much. Maybe
that's part of Parsons's productivity. But is there a guy

(06:52):
in particular. It's like, if we are going to do
this one at a time, like I need this guy
to pick up the slack now the number one's out
of the mix.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Yeah, I mean I hate to say it, I kind
of think the offense has to lead this team. I
don't know if they're gonna do a great job of
stopping too many teams right now, because the cornerback group
is suspect and they get out up a bit by
a really ferocious pass rush. And when the pass rush
isn't there, like it wasn't in the last quarter of
the game yesterday, bo Nicks just carved Green Bay up,

(07:21):
you know, without a real premiere set of pass catchers
to play with. So yeah, I mean they got some
young guys. Lucas van Natz finally came back from injury.
This was a chance for him this year to take
a big step, the former first round pick. They got
a couple of young kids like Baron Currell from Texas
they like. But I'm not counting on those guys having
any kind of pass rush impact. I think it's gonna
be a defensive team effort led by Cooper and Walker

(07:44):
in the linebacker group. But I really do think the
offense is gonna have to take a bigger load, score
more points. And Watson looks like he escaped major injury,
might even be available Saturday night in Chicago they're gonna
have to lean on Love in that offense, I think
to win in the stretch.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Oh well, what about Kingsley in Igbari. I mean, you know,
I know he only had a tackle yesterday, but he
had one and a half the previous two games, and
I mean I've heard so many good things about him
behind Parsons and Rashan Gary when we went to Lambeau
and lost twenty three six, and he's gifted. So I
mean he's got to be part of it, right.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Yeah, No, that's a good point. He has his moment.
He also will commit, as he did yesterday a couple
of just test scratching penalties that you just go what
he's thinking. He's a pending free agent, so he's got
a lot to prove and an opportunity to get paid
by somebody if it's not Green Bay. So yeah, he
has flashed. I should have mentioned him. He's got a
chance now to get more snaps and do something. And

(08:39):
you know, Rashaan Gary doesn't have a sack or as
tackle for loss in the last seven weeks, so it'd
be nice to get him off the Bill Carton and
try to earn the twenty million or so he's making
a year. That's the guy that has really been a
letdown and maybe need him now more than ever.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Got after him a little bit. Wow.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Okay, well, hey, thanks for doing this on a weekly basis.
As I said, and you were the best in While
I definitely root against your team actively, I do not
root for injuries. So we are nine to Noon style
feeling your pain today and one at a time, right,
one at a time with those bears.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Yeah, appreciate it. Boys. Thanks, let's congrabt that your wed.
We'll see it in a few.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Weeks, gotcha, brother?

Speaker 1 (09:15):
All right, cheers brother, that's Dave Sidekin.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Whether it's zone coverage, it's at TC head cheese me
ask your question. Yeah, our drive buys around the corner.
Drive buys are around the corner.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Okay, great.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Weekly border battle Nine to Noon.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
If you missed him during the first hour, PA put
together an awesome just a collage of drive by chats
in the locker room after last night's winning Dallas. You're
going to hear that next and then final segment just
kind of preview a sweet Tuesday at TCO and maybe
some final thoughts on a Monday after a vikings w
It's nine to noon on the fan, Welcome.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Back nine to noon and earlier in the show.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Of course, after every Vikings victory, PA heads into the
locker room, puts a microphone in front of various players faces,
and just do some postgame chats, some drive bys, if
you will. You missed them during the first hour, We
like to play them back on Victory Mondays. And here
they are Pa and Dallas after that dub last night.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
All right, drive bys. The Vikings have won two in
a row for the first time the season, and they
beat the Dallas Cowboys. Let's begin the drive bys over
here with Jalen Eyler. What's up my man? First? Uh,
first time you've had a two touchdown game? The first
one when you went down? What did you get the
wind knocked out of you?

Speaker 6 (10:33):
No?

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Are you okay?

Speaker 7 (10:35):
I landed on my back right very hard, and then
the back of my head hit the turf. So it
was a little combination of both of those.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
But so justin real quick because you ran over there
so quickly and got down to your knee. Man, I mean,
that's like that's your dog. That's hey, you did, mate.
He was concerned about you, weren't you. I definitely was
concerned about him.

Speaker 8 (10:54):
You know, I was more happy that he scored the touchdown,
so I just you know, trying to celebrate with my teammate,
but he was down for the count.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Jay had to revive him a little bit. And then
Jordan Jordan with a fifty eight yard reception during the game.
But congratulations on the victory. Man, these drive bys just
a couple of questions. Always happy when things go your
way and and uh, that final touchdown you got man,
I mean it's you put a great move on the guy,
first and foremost. But what a night for you. And

(11:22):
just another positive step taken by j. J McCarthy.

Speaker 7 (11:25):
So absolutely, you know, he's improvement every week and every practice.
So just to see that grow from him, it's it's
it's amazing. We just got to keep building on that.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
God bless you, my man. Congratulations on the win. Thank
you for sure. That's that's Jail and Naylor. Hey Miles,
what's going on. Congratulations first and foremost for coming back
to Dallas. You and I chatted on Thursday about those
two hundred and fifty tickets that you're looking for, Like,
where am I going to get the money for all
these tickets? And everything, and you know you wanted to
come back here badly and beat the Dallas Cowboys first

(11:54):
and foremost. You guys did that. How you feeling great? Excited?
I get the revety of my family face. Now. Secondly,
Cordaroll Patterson might be the best kick returner in the
history of the NFL, and he certainly is the best
in the history of Minnesota Vikings football. Now, I know
you want to get to the end zone and we
still got three games to do that, but you passed
him for the most return yards kick return yards by

(12:18):
a rookie in the history of Minnesota Vikings football. That's
pretty good man. Yeah, I'm excited about that. I forgot
who's ovie on the field.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
But it's a good feeling.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
It's definitely a good feeling knowing like all the hallwork
that I've put in it's paying off.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
I mean, seriously, you got Christmas around the corner, you
got IU waiting for the winner of Oklahoma Alabama. You
just passed Flash Corderyo Patterson. I mean, things are going
good for Miles Price, aren't they Definitely definitely that can't
complain at all. Congratulations man, Thank you so much. It's
a Dallas native Miles Price victorious over the Dallas Cowboys

(12:50):
with the rest of the gang, and they won by
eight points. Andrew, real quick, I just met your mom
as I was coming down to the locker room. Your
mom's here, man, and she got to see a victory
and helped. You think the game worked out.

Speaker 9 (13:03):
It was awesome. Obviously, anytime your mom can come, it's
you know, it's pretty awesome to play in front of her,
and especially down here in Dallas.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Pretty cool.

Speaker 9 (13:11):
But you know, the game was awesome, you know, resilient.
We got down early and we just continued to battle
and came back and you know, got a couple of
stops and offense played lights out.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
So it's good to see. Yeah, you you big o.
M Big d was required to win, no doubt. But
what you guys did to them on third down, man,
obviously without sharing company secrets, they finished two with twelve, man,
I mean that was a major, major point in the game.

Speaker 9 (13:37):
Yeah, when you you know, third downs of money down,
So when you can get off the field, force them
into fourth downs and you know, continue to battle and
get the get off the field and get the ball
back to the offense. And especially when they're playing so well.
It's complimentary football, and uh, you know, it was a
great It was a total team effort and it's good
to see.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
I appreciate you, Andrew, thank you, Thank you, Mike. He's
beat the Dallas Cowboys. We continue with these drive buys
from a very joyous Minnesota Vikings locker room following the
eight point win. Sir Poe, Andrew Andrew de paula all
prolonged snapper in his one hundred and fifty at the game,
so per usual, you did a great job. How about

(14:16):
Ryan's punts early, and I mean just his It's the
best season of his career, and those punts that he
had tonight were phenomenal. Phenomenal is a great word.

Speaker 10 (14:24):
Yeah, that's exactly what I thought of just seeing the
work Ryans put in since March till now. I don't
want to say I expected this from him, but I
saw it coming and I'm just super proud of him,
and I'm just I'm happy to share in his success.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
And this is no slight to Brandon Aubrey. Okay, I
mean he's made six in his career from sixty and beyond,
an NFL record, But I mean, like I said at
the end of the call, when Will took her from
A to eleven. Where there's a will, there's a win.
And your guy hasn't missed an extra point in his career,
and he has just been lights out this year. Man,
What do you think makes Will so good?

Speaker 10 (15:02):
I think Will is the same person out of the situation.
He keeps as cool about himself. He doesn't get too high,
he doesn't get too low. And in my opinion, the
directory that Brandon Aubrey has been on, he's going to
be considered one of the best. And for Will to
be in that same category currently is speaks volumes of
what Will has been able.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
To do, you know. And lastly, here for Andrew Depaula
is one hundred and fiftieth game. Man, seriously, one hundred
and fifty games. Congratulations, that's hard to do. Thank you.

Speaker 10 (15:25):
Yeah, I didn't know it was one hundred and fifty
till earlier this week. It's been quite a journey. It's
been a lot of fun and I'm taking it one
snap at a time now.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
You weren't on the field early when they faked that
field goal, all right, and I mean it caught me
off guard. I'm like nobody fakes field goals anymore. I mean,
the last time the Vikings faked the field goal was
two thousand and seven. It was a holder Chris Kluey
hitting Jeff Dugan who went plowing inside the five and
almost got in. But shoot man in lust eighteen years,
nobody fakes field goals they did, So that worked well

(15:55):
for Aubrey, you know. But he had his first two
miss games since the end of his rookie year, so
maybe he got tired on that fake field goal. May
have that played into it.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
Right.

Speaker 10 (16:03):
Just stick to what works, man, and kicking has been
good for him, you know, Just keep kicking field goals.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Lastly, Miles Price, he with his kick return yardist to night,
he passed Cordarol Patterson for the most in the history
of the team by a rookie. I mean, Cordero might
be the best kick returner in the history of the NFL. So,
whether it's Miles Price or Ty Felton, who everybody knows
wants to play receiver. But he's a team guy and
he's doing a good job gunning, isn't he. He's doing

(16:29):
an amazing job.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Tie.

Speaker 10 (16:30):
It's just showing up. He's done what they've coached him
to do. He's done what they've told him to do.
He's done it at a high level. Sky's sky's limit
for that young man. He's been a pleasure to watch
and I can't wait to continue to work with him.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
My man. Congratulations on the victory. Congratulations on the one
fifty and that's fantastic.

Speaker 10 (16:45):
Thank you, Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Andrew depaulam all prolonged snapper for the Minnesota Vikings, part
of a victory by eight points over the Dallas Cowboys.
Hip Man, just real quick, and I heard not Cho
Leeber at the end of that cool interview talking about
what happened on the interception. I mean, you'll see it
on the film, but you're in a leaf football mine.
You know exactly what happened. Illinoy had to end up

(17:08):
playing dB on that thing. It was a good play
by him, right, I know. But we were so close
to a sack tonight too. Man. We're sitting on this,
you know, like you and Ronde Barber when you get
this sack before the end of the year. One of
two players in the history of the NFL with thirty
eight picks and twenty one and a half sacks and
I thought you had it tonight. Yeah, I mean just
you know, you always want to make a better play.

Speaker 8 (17:30):
We did enough to win, but you know, there's there's
definitely individual things I'm always after. Really the pick I
wish I would have I wish I would have went
towards the ball just a smidge more.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
But it was a good play by him. Okay. And
I'm not trying to go Nacho Libra on this thing.
You guys won by eight. You want you in a
row for the first time this year. So I'm trying
to be negative with like things that didn't go the
right way. You know what did go the right way?
The Cowboys two of twelve on third down and uh man,
I mean Flores has just done wonderful work this year
with key in some of the high enders off balance

(18:02):
all game. I mean that third down work tonight, Man,
that was phenomenal. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (18:06):
It's the way Float designs and calls a game. I
have a high level of admiration for it. Our entire
coaching staff and you know Deroante Jones on the back end. Yeah,
we do a lot of interesting stuff and they put
a lot of faith in the players to execute. It's

(18:26):
it's it's very thoughtfully designed and executed.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
All right. Lastly, three games to go this season, final
road games next week. How you feeling, man, I mean
like physically, you know, physically, i'd say you're feeling great,
you know, with the way things are performing, but like
in your heart and mentally and everything. Man, I've been
with you every step of the waiter in your career.
You're one of the best players that I've ever seen
in my quarter century calling games. How you feeling?

Speaker 8 (18:52):
Still playing good ball? That's how I'm feeling. I am,
I am, I'm you know, I'm sad that you know,
going into this game, we knew we were out of
the playoffs for sure. But I don't take for granted
the opportunity to play the game at its highest level
with phenomenal players, phenomenal coaches, the best fans.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
I think in the league.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
So I don't take that for granted, and I try
to play.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Accordingly, and you do the consummate professional. God bless you,
my brother. Congratulations on the victory, and we'll see you
when we get back. Thanks Pierre. That's Harry the hit Man,
Harrison Smith, who had just another phenomenal game tonight. Man.
He is really really finishing his career quite well. Well
you and me real quick, well I'll say, wait, I

(19:43):
could get the microphone, Brenner, and we say that, Okay.

Speaker 11 (19:45):
What my favorite guy in the world.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
It's not Max Fuller who did Vikings Country recently. No,
it's all you. Thank you. You started every game and
the work with you, Donovan and especially Ryan Kelly this evening,
especially when Kenny Clark like should have been called offside early,
very very early, might have been first play, and and
it's just great. You and Ryan have known each other
and played with each other for quite some time. Man,

(20:08):
you guys on the inside, all of them really, and
it ends up school over to Brandle book Ending and
the Minnesota Moving Company as I call it, was moving
people tonight. Man, that was fun, wasn't it. Oh my god?
That was a blast.

Speaker 11 (20:21):
So the night football, like against a really talented d Lion,
a really talented team. To go out there and play
a clean game and do all things that we were
able to do, you know, running the ball and protecting
it was a ton of fune. That's where you put
all that work and for during the week and we
just had such a blast out there together tonight.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Lastly so you can get out to the bus. Donovan
Jackson and you know, whether it's an ankle, I don't
know what it is. But he's tough. I mean he's
like like with that wristman, you know, like they almost
had to make him step away for a little while.
He's a rookie and you've seen a lot during your career. Man,
what do you think about Donovan?

Speaker 11 (20:52):
I think that's something really special that not a lot
of people have. And you can't really teach that, that
toughness that's within you to go out there and battle
if your your guys and uh, even though you're not
feeling good. And there's a lot of reasons why he
could have just rested and and uh gone back to
full health. But for him to come out there and
put his body on the line when he wasn't feeling
great and to still playsuit really well. I'm just great character,

(21:14):
a great tough kid. And uh, you know, we know
we can rely on him. You know, he's just a
reliable guy and you know we can always count on
him as are you.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Thank you will, thank you, mister alling, no problem, mister
fries Will Fries right guard. Hey, I'm doing some drive
bys real quick. You guys, mind if I chat with
you for a second. Ryan Kelly, First, Hey, I haven't
watched the game back man, But after Kenny Clark should
have been called for an off side of like the
first play of the game. No, he did. He jumped
the whole thing and it was like a half second

(21:43):
too fast and it changed the play. But just listening
to my analysts Pete Versage and Ben Leeber talk about
you and the interior of the offensive line during the game.
You know, it's been a rough year for you man,
with the with the concussions and everything. So how do
you think it went? Because from afar it looked like
you played a dynamite game. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
I mean, you know, anytime as you get old in
this league, you know the adversity, it seems like it
weighs about a thousand pounds heavier, right, And uh, I
think that any chance you get to come, you can
come to Dallas play Sunday football with the team, the
guys that you love since you walked in the locker
room and you know, that's that's a good that's a
good fun defensive line, I mean, and we just kept grinding.

(22:22):
Things were always perfect but I thought the receivers played well, running,
necks played well. Tight, everybody played great, and you know
you're always gonna get that play where you wish you
had it back. But I thought we just we just
was always perfect. But we've just something physical. We ran
our feet, We tried hard and do good things happen
when you do.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
That, Ryan Kelly, how about the guy to your left.
I just chatted with your longtime friend and teammate Will
Friz about Donovan Jackson. I mean he had to basically
beg him to miss games with the wrist. Oh, you're okay,
And overall he is just so tough and so talented.
What do you think of Donovan season?

Speaker 6 (22:54):
Well, I mean, naturally, I can't talk too much about
the rookie. He's doing a pretty good job. The rest
of the old line. You know, we're we're picking some slack.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
I'm just kidding. You're a fellow first round pick, you know, yeah,
I get it.

Speaker 6 (23:05):
You know, he's been impressive, man, I mean, and he's
had some injuries he's battled through. You know, we give
him a hard time, but he's a little brother, you
know what I mean. And that's whether the room is
so special and he's you know, seeing the fruits of
that is how specialist room is and it's not like
this everywhere you go. I think it's helping him in
his confidence. And obviously you know we're the first person
to bust his balls and the first person to lift
him up when you know, when he's down or when

(23:27):
he's having a great block. So I'm really impressed with
him and just love this offensive line man.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Lastly, with Ryan Kelly Vikings beat the Cowboys by eight.
I mean, the third down defense was unbelievable. But the
guy to your right, Will Fries Okay, in a season
where I call it the Minnesota Moving Company has had
like twenty two to twenty three different offensive line combinations,
there's all Will starting every single game coming off an
injury where let's just say in training camp in the preseason,

(23:52):
he's still working through things getting himselves in shape. He's
such a wonderful guy. And you know, I'm not trying
to make him sound like a cross between Random McDaniel,
Steve Hutchinson or Marshall Gyanda. But he's had an awesome year,
hasn't he He's the best.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
I don't think people understand the severity of the injury
that he had, and you know, I saw him an
Indian twenty twenty one meets the seventh round pick, and
what he's been able to do. You know, he was
that whipping horse for the first year, right and it
was you know, you got to do this better, do
this better. And he wears his motions on his sleeve
because he cares deeply about the guys next to him.
He cares about doing the best for them, not letting

(24:27):
his team down. And to do what he's done. You know,
that break was in October and he rehab that thing.
Didn't have time to and he didn't have an offseason
to relax. Like he's been go, go go since October
for over a year now. I couldn't be more proud
of him. Hasn't miss a snap. Ultimate iron man, one
of the best guys I know, and I love the
death So.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Okay, last one I promised because you're JJ McCarthy's battery mate.
I mean, you've been around the scene so much. On
a day, Philip Rivers starts for the Indianapolis Culture, former
team almost wins the game. He got twenty two year
old JJ McCarthy making his eighth start, and he took
another positive step, didn't he?

Speaker 1 (25:05):
He did?

Speaker 6 (25:05):
And I played with the guy who was now forty
four and playing, and I played with the guy at
twenty two, So I mean, it's crazy, right, And I
can't say.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
About him either.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
I mean, the the amount that's asked of him at
twenty two franchise quarterback. And you know, interception play two
not his fault. I mean, they bring a safety blitz
and just tipball, right, But to put that aside, work
through adversity, play an amazing game. After that, I thought
it was just, you know, I don't think people understand
unless you've been in the locker room and have been

(25:35):
around football for long enough, just how much have courage
that takes, and the adversity mounts and mounts and you
just keep pushing through when you lean on your guys
next to you.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
And that huddle was so special today. Man, it is
hard to replicate. You're a tough guy, man, great having
you know the team. Congratulations on the victor. Thanks guys,
we'll talk to you. That's Ryan Kelly, center for the
Minnesota Vikings. Teja quick A little drive by, if you
got a second, did somebody per chance over the course
of the last couple of weeks, say to you, like, hey, TJ,
you need to start running through guys, or TEJ, you

(26:05):
need to start getting these tough guy touchdowns or something.
I mean, you've had a fantastic career, but uh, man,
you're taking that physicality to a new level, aren't you.

Speaker 12 (26:13):
No, it's been it's been a lot of fun, you know,
I mean, just uh, you know, not taking any opportunity
for granted, and and and when I get my op
and uh, you know, when my numbers called him.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I'm just trying to make a play.

Speaker 12 (26:24):
And you know, it doesn't matter what what our record is,
doesn't matter what what's going on. You know, this is
this is bigger than just this year. This is bigger
than us, and that's what we're trying.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
To prove, a man. And for the first time this season,
the entire room was active. We got TJ, we got
Josh Oliver, we got Ben Urasek, we got San Antonio
native Ben Simms. I was waiting for the for the
fourteen personnel, like two tight ends over here too over there,
But uh that I mean McCarthy has such trust in
you guys. Josh has two against Washington you have one

(26:55):
and then you know when he needed, when he needed
to close this thing out, goes to Josh for eighteen,
goes to you for eighteen. He took a positive step
and that that's really the a topic with the team,
isn't it. Yeah?

Speaker 12 (27:06):
One hundred percent, you know, and that's what you know
we've been We've been harping on JJ all year.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Just just trust us.

Speaker 12 (27:11):
You know, you can throw it up.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Nothing bas gonna happen.

Speaker 12 (27:13):
We're gonna make sure that we're saying that, we're gonna
try to make sure is incomplete, you know, but but
best case scenario, you know, we we're gonna make the
play and we believe in that. So you know, his
poise throughout the entire year and how he's been able
to grow is truly special. And we're just like I said,
this is bigger than us and bigger than the season.
We're gonna continue to move forward and you know, build

(27:35):
this culture the right way.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Likewise, for you too, man, you're finishing I mean, you're
fantastic player, but you're really finishing well. Congradually. I appreciate it. TJ.
Hockkinson tied in for the Minnesota Vikings. Let's try to
finish the drive bys with a Texas native. All Right,
I don't want to slow you up too much. I
mean it's Elpaso. I mean seriously, I don't know how
much tickets cost you this game or anything, but every

(27:57):
time you touch the ball, it was loud. Aaron Jones.
But you you're five and zero against the Dallas Cowboys.
Finally got a win for the Vikings four with the Packers.
That was fun, wasn't it.

Speaker 13 (28:06):
It was a lot of fun coming out stacking it,
putting it, putting it together back to back weeks. It
was really fun and good for us to see in
this locker room as well, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
And lastly, here you and Jordan Mason. You know, you
guys have done some damage this year. I think Jordan
has like six touchdowns. Meanwhile, we're inside the five or
c J. Ham. I mean they got sneaky with that
fake field goal. You got sneakier with c Ham. Yeah,
how you doing? Good to see you.

Speaker 13 (28:32):
Uh it opened right up, uh CJ. And I think
it was speedy. Uh kind of took the motion of
that way and those guys flew right there with them
and opened it right up for CJ.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
And uh, I mean, I.

Speaker 13 (28:44):
Think he's five five for five when running that play
in the red zone too. So uh, it was good
to see our guy get in and he's deserving of
every touchtowt he gets.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
Ay, Man, you're fantastic. Congratulations. Yes, sorry, it's good to
see you. You two.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Aaron.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
That's Aaron Jones, el Paso, Texas native went to u
Jah and never's lost to the Dallas Cowboys, which for
somebody from Texas has to feel really good. The Vikings
beat the Dallas Cowboys and they've won two in a row.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Two and oh dubs and when there are w's in
the mix, there are drive buys to follow. That is
PA last night with I mean, wow, how about that?
Tons of conversations and tons of excitement and optimism as
part of that thirty four to twenty six win last
night in Dallas. We're gonna pause come back final segment
right around the corner when we do maybe some final

(29:33):
thoughts in preview TCO where we'll get to chat with
Ko as part of the weekly x'es and o's chats
we get the pleasure of doing at the Vikings facility
each and every Tuesday morning.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
That's next right here on the fan.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Final segment nine to noon and tomorrow nine to noon
is back at Twin City's Orthopedics Performance Center in Egan
in a row for Ko, Two in a row for Ko.
Think about that in a roller coaster year, man, I mean,
we saw the four game l streak, didn't like that
particularly much. But this is I think the first time
that they've won two in a row. So the roller

(30:12):
coaster stops. Yeah, we find ourself maybe on some solid
form of ground and the ability to.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Go let's just go beat up on the Giants and
make it three straight.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah. I think winning eight games from a posterior standpoint
or a posture standpoint, I think it's important. It's not
all encompassing. But the reason I say winning at least
two more is you want to have more wins than
the Dobs year. Okay, you just do, yes, And there's

(30:42):
really no context that's required. You won seven in the
Dobs year with Jaren Hall and Mullins and yeah, and
and Cousins at Lambeau and the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
But that give the kid a winning record, by the way. Yeah,
and you're six and five and you're.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Gonna get so hopefully eleven starts from your first round pick.
You're going to have your preferred quarterback for eleven of
the seventeen during the maturation process. But just get two victories, men,
I'm on the rest of the way. Just get more
wins than the Dobs year. That's good for a business. Yeah,
it is good for business.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
And just you know, putting a rap on this and
then started like, at this stage of the season, do
you think the coach is enjoying these victories the way
that I would as a fan versus in some ways
we're in pure evaluation mode, like knowing that justin school
played one of his better games.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
You're picking something off of the defensive front.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
I just at this stage knowing that the playoffs aren't
in the mind. I know fans take it, I know
how I take it, and the disappointment associated with it.
I just wonder how the head coach takes it as
we continue to get to see him every Tuesday in
a sad non playoff year, finding those little moments of
those morsels of goodness. Maybe well we I mean, we
can answer that tomorrow at eleven o'clock with Kevin O'Connell.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
I'm not going to do it this way. But if
you were to look at his countenance, look at the
expression on his face. If I were to go like
Darisaw missed one, you know, look at that and then wow,
you know Eric Wilson with all these plays he plays
in the special teams play and look at that one. Yeah,
and then then you're like pure progression, simplification, streamlining your thoughts.

(32:22):
And then look at his face there, and then like, wow,
Donovan Jackson wanted to play through a broken wrist and
this current injury. Look at his face there. I think
he's really appreciating things that he hasn't necessarily. Maybe maybe
he's underappreciated before, like with Eric Wilson. And I mean
when when when I didn't do a drive by with

(32:44):
Eric but walked up and chatted with him. I'm just
telling you right now, my man's tired. Yeah, I mean,
he was exhausted after the game. He's fantastic. And Jackson
with those injuries, Ryan Kelly playing through the concussions and
really really starting to help with the moving company because
start stuff is starting to consistently work with the offensive line,

(33:06):
and Kelly's just really really good at what he does.
And when you get him up to speed. It's starting
to show. Now. One thing I'm going to get into
tomorrow with Kevin O'Connell with McCarthy is I really really
like how he gets small in tight quarters and how
he's getting out of these things. That's a gift and
that's part of the maturation.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
I dig that. Good to see you.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
Welcome back back to you, Quinn Hughes, Welcome to the company,
Welcome to the state.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Of hockey, my brother three for three yesterday we dig
that with the local squads. We dig you for listening
to the fan and again tomorrow TCO with Ko ben Gesling.
I believe the analyst Pete Bursich in the mix. It's
going to be a fun one and Egan tomorrow. Thanks
for hanging out with us. Thanks for listening to nine
to Noon when you choose to do so, have a
terrific afternoon.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
