Speaker 1 (00:00):
Human sounds of hockey wild. It's a coming and clean up.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
We say stupid things all of the time.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Of average.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
He ain't heavy, He's a pond.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Shall we begin?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Well, now we're going to handle this today Twin City's
Orthopedics Performance Center, the TCO Radio studio, home to the
Minnesota Vikings. And when I say, how are we going
to handle this today? It's yours truly Paul Allen with
Nordo here Mad Producer one, following him on ex Mad
Producer one, if you're so inclined and double B. Brett Blakemore,
(01:37):
co host of the Packer Review podcast, is guiding the
Great Ship Love Covenant at FM one hundred point three
k f a M. How are we going to handle
this with that snot nosed kid on the other side
of the equation? And good morning, good morning.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Well, we're a time slot in a show that chooses
to look forward, Pa, we choose to move on.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
We choose to wash our hands. And by the way,
whatever a wild highlight comes flying in, that means we
have heinsey, that.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Means we have heind z uh we we are going
to move forward is exactly what we're going to do.
And you know what, if if the Vikings had won
that border battle, we would have been polite, cordial to
our coworker, to our buddy double B back at the studio.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
We would have taken the high.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Road, absolutely if if things had not transpired the way
they have. So I think in this case, the best
we can do is look ahead to Darnold and the
Seahawks and Wrek Woolen and Charbonette, Charbonnet and and all
the things that are ahead of us, and maybe in
between that thanksgivings ahead.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
And maybe Heinsey can call, like right now, we can
hear that wild highlight so we can move on and
not have to deal with the snot nosed kid.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Well, and that's the problem is Brett's Brett's mike is
on and I can hear him because just like as
as many Packers fans, there's there a breathy well you say,
is a mouth breather, There's there's a mouth breathing tone
to it. I can hear.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Sorry, I didn't, I didn't say that. I'm I'm sorry, Okay, well,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
He's literally and figuratively snot knows today. So as we
as we bide our time, just begging and pleading for
this wild highlight, so we get to talk about the
hockey team and not even think about, yeah, the fact
that there's this border battle cloud.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Hanging over our head back in Saint Louis Park.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
You know what the quicker we get to that high
Joe hands it, carries it right side, Joe Hanson, hippoly,
he'll coming.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
FA's a three of kindness.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Rod under the crossbars, a shorthanded goal.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Nothing later. Joining us now is Minnesota wild head coach
John Hines and his squad. Our squad, the State of
Hockey's pro squad has one five consecutive including two consecutive shutouts.
Said squad is that Chicago tomorrow day in front of Thanksgiving.
(04:04):
And you'll hear that one on f N one hundred
point three k f a N and Heinsey joins us now.
John is Paul Allen. Good morning to you, my friend.
How are you?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I'm great for you. Good morning to you too, right.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
On, Thanks thanks for the call to and UH and
early happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Coach and
UH you you and the gang get to spend the
holiday at home. That's a that's a nice little breather
amidst the grind, isn't it?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yes, it's nice. We got to we got to day.
We got the game tomorrow night in Chicago, and then
we get back pretty late Wednesday night. But uh, it'd
be nice. I have a little day, uh, a little
Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, and then we tee it up
again on Friday at two thirty. So it's a quick turnaround,
but it'll be nice. I think for you guys, get
a little bit of breather and watch the football over
the last and and get ready to go.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
And and for you, I know, I know Felino is
a big football fan. I think favor is too, But
I I know you like football in the National Football League.
So is it football and a feast for you Thanksgiving?
Or is there work to do with the first place
abs here the next day?
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Uh, it'll be a little bit of a combo. I
think we used yesterday. We had a we had a
day off yesterday, so we've kind of prepped for Chicago
and Colorado knowing it's going to be a quick turnaround.
So probably Thanksgiving morning, do a little work organized and
then yeah, I think the game start around noon, So
a little work in the morning and then relax in
the afternoon and early to bed and get ready for Friday.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
So wait a second. You you had a day off
in Winnipeg.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
With I traveled after the game.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Oh okay, I was gonna say, Holy cow, IM not
a lot to do there. How how did Nico Sturm
exit the Winnipeg game? No, No, worse for the wear.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Right, No, it seems like Stormy should be good. He's ready,
you should be good to practice today, and so that's good.
It was nice to have him back, and I think
it's good for him to get a game under his belt,
tough physical games, so for him to come out feeling
pretty good as a real positive for him and us. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
He I think he won three face offs in that game.
Fifty six percent face off guy. Holy cow? I mean,
is that like his calling card? Is that where he
helps the most?
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yes, Yeah, he's a That's one of the one of
the reasons we got him, among a few others. But
you know, his face offs are really important, and I
think he's a guy that, you know, I think can
help free up some tough starts for other guys, whether
it's in dese on faceoffs against their other team's top
face off guys or penalty kill things like that. That's
where he brings a ton of value for us in
(06:43):
that area for sure.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
And he's a he's a two time Stanley Cup champion,
and correct me if I'm wrong here, but he's been
strong on the penalty kill all of his career, I believe.
I think that's another calling card. So like with that,
how can he help how can he help up there
with you guys, Well.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Penalty killing is important. I think we've really found our
footing there. You know, the guys have done a really
good job, particularly in November with us getting our footing
there and making the difference in the games. And Sermy's
going to add to that. He's you know, face offs
are huge on the penalty kill. If you can win
him and get a clear, it's a big part of
the penalty kill. So he can help us there. He's
(07:25):
a big, strong kid, he's got great range, he's got
a long stick, he's a big body for shot lanes
and and the ability to pressure pocks and things like that.
So looking forward to getting them, uh, you know, keep
keep keep getting them back in and and I know
he's going to make a difference for us in those areas.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Juel ericson ek uh one one of the best overall players.
You have, one of the better two way players in
the NHL obviously, uh. But but he has two goals
in his last four games and a shorty at Pittsburgh.
What what's the read on Ericsson X game of late.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Well, he's really uh. I mean, he's at the top
of his game right now. You know, he's he's he's
a fast, powerful skater. He's checking unbelievable. You know, his
his lines playing against the other team's top lines every night.
And not only are they are they checking those guys,
they're out playing the other team. But he's physical, he's engaged,
he's getting to the net front and you know when
(08:23):
he plays that style of game, he's just a menace
to play against. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, that shorty against Pittsburgh. Favor scored shorthanded at Winnipeg.
Baldy had one, I believe last week. When when it
comes to scoring shorthanded goals, coach, what what what are
keys to accomplishing that without the p K getting leaky?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Well, a lot of them start from pressure. They just
start from the good organized pressure in your own end
and you know, the if you can dislodge some pucks
or you know, the power plays trying to keep the
puck in and if you're in the right roots and
you have good, good uh pressure on the off then
you can generate some offense from them.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Is that something coaches can see on film, Like you
watch an opponent's power play after power play after power play,
and you know you see that you know, maybe something's
happening where maybe you can jump something.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Yeah, you know what, it's not so much jumping jumping
something or where they could telegraph that they're going to
give up shorthanded goals. I think a lot of it
comes from as I said, I think if they a
lot of the shorthanded goals will come from your penalty
killed four check where you can turn a puck over
at the defensive blue line and they're all coming in
in their breakout. So if there's a turnover, it's an
(09:39):
automatic odd man rush. And a lot of times in pressure,
when you look at a lot of power plays, usually
there's only one player at the top. So if you
can pressure rebounds or rims or bobble puffs on the
other team and get the pressure, there's only one guy left.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
To beat John Hines, coach of the Minnesota Wild Victoria's
five consecutive They're at Chicago tomorrow night on KF then
here on Friday at Grand Casino Arena to take on
the rough and tumble Colorado Avalanche Matt Baldy and Coroll
cabrisof Baldy and cabrisof Holy Cow. I mean, they they
(10:12):
seem to have settled into a nice little match race
for goal scoring supremacy. Each has thirteen. But what has
been solid with their overall games during this excellent month
of play.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Well, I think when those I mean those three guys
are highly highly skilled players and highly talented players, but
you know, when they play both sides of the puck,
both of them care about keeping the puck ey of
their own net, and they they're driven by you know,
scoring as well. But when they play a really complete
two way game, it allows them. When they're fully engaged
on both sides of the puff, usually that's when they're
(10:48):
generating a lot of offense, and you know they're doing
it in numerous ways. They're getting you know, they're shooting
it right past the goalie when they have opportunities, they're
getting tips, they're getting rebounds, so they're they're they're creating
offense and scoring in multiple ways. And that's what makes
those guys hard to defend.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
It, I would imagine was dynamite getting Bogosian back. And
you know, from what I did see in the Winnipeg game,
despite having a football game in Wisconsin, uh, Bagosian seemed
to be a beast at Winnipeg. What what's great about
having him back?
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Well, he's another I mean, he's a big, strong, skating defenseman.
He's physical. His skating as a factor whether it's offensively
being able to join the rusher or break bucks out.
But he's just the like, he's a hard guy to
play against. He's big and strong, he plays hard, and
he contributes on both sides of the puck. You know,
I think he does a nice job because of his skating,
(11:42):
whether it's rush defense or closing in the defensive zone.
But also he can get back for pucks on the breakout.
He has the speed to be able to join the
rush as a defenseman and be a factor because he's
a good skating guy. So it's nice to see him back.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Time for a few more for John Hines, coach of
the Minutes, so wild and at Chicago tomorrow night, which
means Connor Bodard, you guys have ze bullyam Uh. There's
let's say, Celebrini in San Jose, Matthew Schaeffer in Uh
with the Islanders. I mean, some big time young stars
(12:17):
all around the league. Man, is is there a trend
of any sort developing with that?
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah? I think so. I mean it's I think the
way that the game has changed and the rules have changed.
You can you know, these kids are coming up and
they're they've played on big stages, whether it's college or
junior or the World Juniors. Some of them have gone
over to the World Championships, the men's Senior World Championships,
like Zee did last year, with not a lot of
pro experience. So I think these kids are exposed to
(12:47):
too high, high stakes environments, so they're used to those things.
But also they're they're you know, they're all physically fit,
they're strong, they're fast, they're skilled, and I think that's
the way the league's trending. So it's it's been interesting
to see how many young guys can come in and
and be impact players.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
What what are you liking about zeb these days, I think.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
These continues to grow. You know, I think he's finding
opportunities when he can, when he can use his offensive
instincts and and and uh and great offense. But I
also think that he's learning, you know, when you're coming
out of your own end, particularly like on breakouts or
new to his own transitions, that you know, it's just
moving the puck quick and simply. And you know a
(13:29):
lot of times in the NHL it's it's a much
more organized league. Players are in the right spots all
the time. So his ability, I think to be able
to move pucks quick have been good. And I think
he's learning how important you know, defending is at this
level because the talented players. So it's good to see him.
He's a coachable kid, and he's willing to play both
(13:49):
sides of the puck, and we got to keep keep
helping him grow and he's got to continue to put
the work in.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
What what about Connor Bedard, who you get tomorrow night.
He's been around for a little while now and has
better players around him now and then probably will get
better as the years go on. What the maturation of
Connor Bedard's game? What are you noticing.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah, I think he's a more he's a more mature player.
You know, he's always been, I think a deadly offensive threat,
but he's a guy now he's kind of creating offense,
like I talked about with Boldie and Capri Soft, creating
offense in multiple ways. He's you know, when he has
open ice and easy ice, he's going to be a
deadly threat. But you know, you're see him more in
the offensive zone and getting into the art areas offensively.
(14:33):
So he's he's he's definitely taking a step this year
in those areas.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Final one for John Hines, coach of the Minnesota Wild.
Your goalies are they're responding. They seem to be responding
to the others quality performances and and obviously you know
they're going to represent on their own as well as
they can. But it just seems from afar John that
they're pushing each other in a roundabout way. Is that
(15:00):
the right way to look at it?
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Yeah, I think it's a It's a great situation to
have both of them, both guys are playing at the
top of their game. Uh, they have a great relationship.
I think they support each other, but they also push
each other. So I think it's a healthy competition and
and I think it's nice when you're when you have
a goaltending tandem and you know the guy next to you,
when it's his turn to play, he's gonna you know,
he's going to put his best foot forward and try
(15:24):
to put the team in a position to win. And
I think it's it gives the other guy, you know,
an opportunity sometimes to take a little bit of a
mental break. Work with our goalie coach, Freddie Shabat, so
they both stayed mentally and physically I think, fresh and
on top of their game. So it's been it's been
great to see them play the way they played and
also continue to push each other in a healthy competition.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
And and off that last late, how do you determine
with with your goalies, how do you determine which one
to use when they both are rested?
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Uh, some as it would go, We've kind of gone
with a little bit of a rotation lately where both guys.
We want to keep them both playing because they're they're
they're competitive and like I said, I think when the
guy that doesn't play, he has the opportunity to get
a little bit of extra practice and work on specific
things to his game. Sometimes we might look at the opponent,
you know, the opponent's strengths versus you know, both the
(16:20):
goalies are a little bit different. So sometimes we look at,
you know, what the opponent brings to the table versus
what which goaltender we would want to play that night.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Fantastic, my man, Happy Thanksgiving. The radio show gives thanks
for your inclusion weekly and we look forward to seeing
you soon.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Okay, all right, thanks be happy Thanksgiving man.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Yep, see about John Hines, coach of the Minnesota Wild.
The streaking Minnesota Wild victorious five consecutives, seven of the
last eight. This has been a November to remember for
Doubleb's excuse me for the state of Hockey's Minnesota Wild.
And they're going to get Connor Badard and the Blame
(17:00):
Hawks on the road tomorrow and that'll be on KFAM.
Then the avalancheer here middle of the afternoon on Friday
day after Thanksgiving. Nine to noon also gives thanks for
all of you who listen to the radio show and
KFA in if and or when you do so for
Nordo and Double B. I'm Paul Allen. Nine to noon
(17:22):
continues around the corner with some strays of kindness and
that's part of the Timber Tech What's on Deck setlist
that does include and guestling from the Star Tribume. He'll
be here about ten o'clock courtesy of Standard Heating and
Air and Minnesota Viking's head coach Kevin O'Connell will join
as he is wont to do on Tuesdays at eleven
(17:43):
o'clock from the TCO Radio studio as part of the
well respected, Efficient, Responsible, and dasting ever expanding Vikings Entertainment
Network KO at about eleven o'clock and yes, JJ McCarthy
and the latest news with him as part of the
mix with the head coach and of course the scribe
(18:05):
you're listening to nine to noon at FM one hundred
point three kf A N. Good morning.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
We all remember that one teacher who made a difference,
believe in us, challenged us, or just made learning fun. Well,
now's your chance to say thank you in a big
way with Iheartradios Thank a Teacher.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
It's powered by donors.
Speaker 5 (18:21):

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Nine to Noon has made an executive Ladies and gentlemen,
and we apologize for the late preparation with this, but
it's called catching strays of kindness. And here's the deal.
Sunday from about what do you think the second half
began like real world time? Yeah, it's called like one.
(19:20):
So we're gonna say Sunday from one forty pm when
we had a we had the oblong object glance off
one of our guys giving it to those guys at
the five, those guys scored. Those guys went up by eleven.
And that plays into what Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin
(19:40):
O'Connell said after the l at Lambeau, where the Minnesota
Vikings were border battered. He said the paraphrasing, but I
think I'm going to get every single word right. The
our margin four air currently is razor thin. Yeah, and
so when you go down a couple of scores like
(20:02):
that and you got everything going on that you got
going on, Well, you're probably not going to win the game.
So from let's say one forty one pm Sunday all
the way through nine to noon yesterday and talk back
Central and frustration Central with the fan base, which is appreciated,
which is understood, it's appreciated, beats the alternative of apathy.
(20:26):
And through last night Fincy's team getting run down by
Sacramento losing in overtime. That wasn't cool because OKAC is
on the horizon and we have Finchy to start the
show tomorrow at nine o'clock. Start the show with Fincho.
Start the show with fin show I start getting some
five in a row for Fincho, five in a row
for Fincho.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah, that's losing games to teams this time of year
like that. Yes, matters in April. Yes, So go beat
Okac and level the scales. Go what, Go beat Okac.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
And level the scales. Yep, go beat Okac and to
ruin there Thanksgiving. Are they undefeated?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
No?
Speaker 1 (21:02):
They lost one. They can be beaten. They're vulnerable. They are.
Give them the gizzard, FINCHI seventeen and one. Give them
the gizzard. So after all of that, you ate the
gizzard as a kid didn't you, and a good night's
sleep for nine to noon, not together separately, but nevertheless
nice and rested. It's time to put the darkness and
(21:24):
the darkness and all that comes with it, including strays
of negativity, the outrageous strays of negativity. Nine to noon
the times faces to the side and catch strays or
deliver strays of a different variety and good morning. Catching strays,
(21:44):
by the way, is a popular term these days with
people of all ages, including yours truly at fifty nine
soon to be sixty in a month and a half.
Oh goodie, like catching strays. So and so caught a
stray out of nowhere instance to wit h Nordo. Yes,
use this for the second time. See if you can't
(22:06):
laugh this time?
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yeah, you know, I've been known to sit on team
buses after w's and l's and put on the Bow's
headphones and listen to Vikings fan line with Eric nord
Quick and Ron Johnson, one of the best receivers in
the history of Golden Gophers football. Yeah, and you know,
jot a few things down here and there to you know,
(22:29):
hit the Monday Show and pretend to Nordo and everybody
else that I'm actually listening to more than I do.
I'm just kidding. Gotta stop tearing people down to feel
better about myself.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
You're just trying to see if you can catch the
producer slipping.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Well, you caught astray, I did. You just caught astray.
That's what catching astray is. So like I said this yesterday,
but I'm listening to fanline on on bus number five
outside of the loading dock at lambeau Field lamenting getting
border battered, and Nordo saw Dak Press got thrown air
at pass Sunday and he cracked wise about JJ McCarthy,
(23:05):
which means the concussed quarterback quote caught astray. He did
end quote. Here's another example of a catching a strizzle,
catching astray. Paul Charchiam. Paul Charchian may have left the
Great State of Minnesota in the Friday Football Feast and
relocated to some rest stop laden area outside of Saint George, Utah,
(23:27):
but it doesn't mean he can't catch strays. He might
catch one later in the show today if we have time.
And here's what I mean. If charge catches astray later,
that means Nordo and I will be talking about those
led by him rooting for the Minnesota Vikings to lose
the rest of their games from four to seven to
(23:49):
attain the very best draft pick they possibly can get.
I can't say I'm in lockstep with that approach. No,
I cannot either. I don't think Nordo is, but uh,
I'm definitely not in lockstep with it. That's how old
Churchy Birchie has been known to operate when the playoffs
seem to be a fore gun or a fading conclusion,
(24:12):
and the darkness associated with that from four and seven.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
So see, you say you know you're fifty nine and
you're gonna turn sixty.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
I think just a couple of months from now. Actually, yeah,
you think I'm not. And you'll use.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Terminology you're trying to you You're you're staying hip and
with it, with you know, catching strays.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
That's far in the chat. Well, you touched me Bay
this morning. I did. Yeah, who in the heck? Says Bay,
And it's the first time you ever said be a
to me, tying it to a basketball player and a
box score.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Well, in a daily fantasy basketball league, you never touch
another man's waiver. Bayo and Milwaukee's Aj Green is my waiver,
Bay and you took.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Him, yeah, and no I didn't take him. There are
using feelings, Okay, so I was gonna take well because
we're playing each other this week in the league, freak,
I'm in first place Nordos and last and what he
did to my team functionally last night should be felonious
and forty eight states well, whether we're trying to get
under his skin and find players he's cut so I
can get his plays. Aj Green from Milwaukee, we might
(25:18):
bring you in for a day, put you on the
practice squad so you can give me the cons plays.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Well, if it were, I hope it works as well
as picking up Ben Simms to get the Packers plays recently,
as that has turned out.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
But what are you talking about? The Vikings defense played
quite well with majority of that game, though, See no, those.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Aren't the strays Flores caught astray out of Seriously, all right,
nine to noon was is and always will be he
strays of kindness hashtag faith radio.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Yes, and that was my point at forty years old.
I'm not fifty nine. I'm not as hipping with it as.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
You are, but I still cool.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
I watched these games on Sundays, Mondays in the occasional Friday,
and I say, I just want this team to win,
and more so than ever is negative if things have been.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Just show me some success.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Now you're need a piece of success, an need productivity.
I cannot root for this team to tank. I can't
do it.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Now you're kind of bugging me. And so here's what's
going to happen, because I'm going to catch a real strake,
got a little side of me right now, or I
feel like tearing others down verbally to feel better about myself.
All right here and adequ as I feel right now.
So here's how payback may take place with that. This Friday,
nine to noon is at Buffalo Wild Wings Mall of America, Yes,
(26:36):
for the Friday Football Beast Feast. And I think maybe
I'll like text you at eight fifty say, and I
can't make and am fe more dizzy. Okay, so stop it,
damn it, just stop it, just stop stop stop teasing.
(26:56):
So Alicia'll have green but or alex let well, maybe
Parker can show up for two hours. Yeah, nine to
noon was is and always will be. Hashtag Faith Radio.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to deliver strays of kindness.
It's Thanksgiving week. Who wants the freaking gizzard? It's Thanksgiving week.
(27:18):
Time to jettison unanswerable questions and to start giving thanks
and praise for what's good in the nine to noon
sports world. Strays of kindness, you say, yeah, and the
first will be delivered too. The Minnesota Wild. I love
that they're catching the first ray of kindness. Seriously, well done,
(27:41):
well done, I mean, way to get hot and through Monday.
Through Monday. I don't look at the scores last night,
so if it changed, big deal. But we know we
have twenty eight points. What I'm saying here is I
don't know if anybody else has more points than they
did yesterday, And quite honestly, I couldn't care less. And
that means every team in the NHL except the Wild,
cause astray and that's not the purpose of strays of kindness. Okay, three? Two,
(28:04):
So the Wild is twenty eight points. Twenty eight points, Indie,
yesterday's games would have us third in the best division
in hockey. That would be our division, and that's where
we are. Twenty eight points would have us in a
tie for second. Where they did they happen to be
in the West, and twenty eight points would have them
(28:26):
tied for second in something called the Metropolitan and twenty
eight points would have them first in the Atlantic. Way
to get hot, and we give thanks for you via
astray of kindness.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Astray of kindness, and I'm going to dig deeper into
the wild.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Well, I'm not done. Oh okay, the one two goalie
tandem has become terrific, shutting out Winnipeg on the road
and beat those guys for the first time since twenty
twenty two. Twenty twenty three season. Oh Faber has scored
in two of the last three and has five points
the last three. That's astray of godness. Caprisov has four
(29:02):
points the last three and eleven points this month. Baldy
scored two times at pitt and Eric Zinek, as we
mentioned with Heinz is heating up two goals and three
points in the last three games. And we are acid
tested for class. This Friday, middle of the afternoon, it's
a home game on KFA N the Colorado Avalanche in Town, Minnesota.
(29:27):
Wild with that stray of kindness, it's a well due stray. Now,
i I'm not done. Just kidding.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
I had focused in specifically on Yesper Volstet strays of kindness.
He's not letting any of the strays by him. He
swallows him up. Third shutout of the year. I don't
think the team's outright even lost a game that he
has started six to zho and two wow sub two
and goals against five goals total in his last five
for nine thirty five save percentage.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
The kid absolutely rocks.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
But his partner in crime between the pipes though, Philip Gustafs,
and he's got a sub two goals against in the
month of November and ot loss and a tight one against.
I think they were down in Carolina for an l
But all the same, the tandem that we have in
net for the wild, specifically this time of year, something
(30:16):
to be thankful for. Where it feels like not too
long ago, I'm seeing state of hockey go from state
of hockey to state of wondering what this season and
what the coach and what the future of the whole
thing looks like. And now they're winning games and they're
right back in the mix, and it's been awesome to
watch that.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
What's happening, Ladies and gentlemen, those of you who just
tuned into nine to noon, which has been wine to
noon way too frequently of late, Well, we are delivering
shots with strays of kindness, so those immersed in negativity
know they can count on hashtag faith radio for some
good news, as in good news of the Gridiron gospel
(30:56):
that takes us right here, that takes us to this
facility Egan through the losing. Let's give banks and appreciation
for defensive lineman Jalen Redman. Oh yeah, Jalen Redman plays
hard every single snap and at a block shot at Lambeau. Ah,
what's a block shot in football? Well, it's a Kevin o'connellism.
(31:18):
That is a pass defense by a defensive lineman and
those lead to turnovers.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Well, it's because he knows the power of a completion
and when you take that away from your opponent, that's
a nothing but good times.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Jalen Redman has been nothing but good news since arriving,
and he gets the Thanksgiving week stray of kindness.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Oh that's beautiful. I might as well just hang out
here in Egan too. And of all the things we
can look down on potentially with some of our favorite teams,
can't look down on Will Rekord. You can't look down
on Will Record and all those bombs from fifty plus
and him keeping him keeping his oath. Might you say,
(31:58):
in terms of when he's on the field, it feels
guaranteed as good as he's been in combination.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
How about the punter? How about seventy seven yard punts
from Ryan Wright?
Speaker 2 (32:09):
How about that almost old school coffin corner one at
Lambeau that went out at the two. Of all the things,
maybe for a four and seven team that we can nitpick,
and there's plenty to do. We're gonna go from nine
to noon to forgetting the swoon, just for a second
to appreciate both Will Reichert and Ryan Wright as members of.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
The Purple nine to noon, forgetting the swoon. Kids. That's
a bar. That's a bar. That's a bar. And this fire,
Mike check a one two, one two that bar fire.
The Alabama kicker, you said, you know what, he's not
going to get a chance to kick the Minnesota Vikings
to a division title. Bot is incredibly valuable to a
team desperate to score. And somehow and aroundabout way, the
(32:50):
Vikings offense just caught astray and that's not the purpose
of the conversation. Will Rykert, I'm glad you went down
that road. Incredibly valuable, just like Drake Lindsey, quarterback for
the Golden Gophers football team, seriously red shirt freshman though PJ.
Fleck weekly nine to Noon Lindsey in the loss of
regularly two sixty four four touchdowns and zero interceptions, Gophers
(33:15):
fans should beg or offer up some significant nil money
to make sure this Arkansas kid never leaves. He has
a swivel. Drake Lindsay has a swivel at a very
young age and a very live arm. Drake Lindsey will
give sky Yuma a chance to nab some quality playmakers
(33:36):
and looks the part of an improving and wonderful quarterback.
Drake Lindsey, Welcome to becoming the recipient of a nine
to Noon Thanksgiving Week stray of kindness.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
I'm throwing out astraya kindness to a particular player on
the howl.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Pa Is.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
We have many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season.
I'm giving up some praise to Julius Randall astray of kindness.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Now you know this tough timing.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
I guess teams dropped two in a row that they
probably should have won. That's ugly, and okay, see on
the horizon. We'll see what happens tomorrow night. However, Julius
Randall's playing some of the best ball of his entire
career PA. The scoring is terrific, his efficiency and percentages
are terrific. The three balls falling, He's added defensive intensity,
and he's I mean, he's diving.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
For balls in the court.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Julius is completely freaking locked in right now and everything
that he contributed a year ago, making him kind of,
you know, the second fiddle or the VP to to
what we need and want out of Anthony Edwards. Julius
Randall has already has only taken that to another level. Now.
If you just play in box scores and you look
at stats technically, I think maybe his five six years
(34:46):
ago with the Knicks, he probably had his best career season,
like twenty four and ten and six dimes. He's about
twenty almost twenty five, I think seven boards and change
and almost six assists, so the numbers look a little
bit lower, but based off of what we got last year,
it's truly remarkable and it's in every night situation, which
(35:06):
I think is very visible his impact on this team.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Julius Randall is absolutely on fire right now.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Deserves certainly despite these last two l's as a team,
Julius Randall deserves a massive stray of kindness.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
And Chris Finch, he's going to catch a stray right now.
I mean they've lost too in a row. Yeah, but
Finch Finchy, Finchy the recipient on the right side of
a stray of kindness. And here's why. Great respect and
appreciation and thanks delivered from nine to noon and yours
truly for Finchy. Finchy joins weekly and never asked for
(35:42):
a dime, calls in no matter if it's bad or good,
and always shoots straight with nine to Noon, which subsequently
means shooting straight with the audience. Chris is salt of
the earth and he's one of my favorites via the
authenticity department in all my years of doing radio at
AM eleven thirty Kfan or FM one hundred point three KFAM.
(36:06):
He'll start nine to noon tomorrow day of that OKC game,
and that's very cool. So we definitely give thanks to
Chris Finch for amplifying nine to noon.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Now, I'm just gonna throw I don't know how many
of you have left in the tank, pon, I just
have I just have one more, and we'll probably have
to dive into this next segment.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
I'm just thinking, you know, a.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Couple of days away, there's gonna be turkey, there's food.
I don't know what the practice schedule is. I think
it's a lighter day for the Vikings. Given the opportunity
in the afternoon for some family time. I'm just gonna
throw astray a kindness to Max Brosman. Max Brosmer saying,
Max Broser, do you former Gopher former you know, former
undrafted kid that is now on the roster of your
(36:48):
Minnesota Vikings. You know, I'm just gonna leave this maybe
a little more in the next segment, just a stray
a kindness thinking about Max Brosmer for no particular reason
that that I hope that he has an unbelievable week
and unbelievable holiday and knows how appreciated he is within
the football loving covenant here locally from the college fan
baid into the pros and just thinking strays the kindness
(37:11):
one on hand one out to QB two as it
is at this particular moment. Max Brosmer a happy Thanksgiving indeed.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
And Brosemer is part of bike Spits around the Corner.
As the con said, he also makes the mix with
Kevin O'Connell, head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, joining nine
to Noon an hour and twenty minutes from now about
eleven o'clock and we weekly play a talkback for the
head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. It's a TCO radio
(37:39):
studio talkback Tuesday. So what you do as you go
to the free iHeart audio app leave a talkback for
the head coach. Nordo will choose one. You'll get to
be heard on the air with Kevin O'Connell and he
will respond to your question. So you can start filing
those reports or right now and we will play one
(37:59):
back between eleven and eleven twenty five. It's nine two

(39:01):
The head coach speaking with the media yesterday unveiling some
news that quarterback JJ McCarthy, upon returning or making the
flight and the traveling home from Lambeau Field in Green Bay,
started to exhibit some minor symptoms related potentially to a concussion,
had him evaluated and out of caution. I don't know
(39:25):
if he said abundance of caution. I don't have the
quote in front of me. Let's just say that, out
of abundance of caution, they put him in the concussion protocol,
which now means that if he does not pass the
protocol throughout the week, he was in meetings yesterday and
such expected to be around the facility throughout the week.
But if he is unable to participate and practice at
a high enough level, satisfactory enough level get through the protocol,
(39:47):
it would be assumed that Max Brosmer, undrafted rookie QB
from the University of Minnesota by way of New Hampshire,
that he would be in line to make his NFL
debut Sunday afternoon at Seattle. The hits keep on coming
for JJ, but also potentially a massive opportunity for mister Brosmer.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
What do you make of all of that? PA? The
neurological pathways belonging to Max Brosmer will be addressed in
depth with Ben Geslin, the scribe from the Star Tribute
about ten minutes from now, and with Kevin O'Connell, head
coach of the Minnesota Vikings an hour and ten minutes
from now.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Fikes, bites, bites, Regardless of who starts, what's our level
of concern? PA? For both Christian Darisaw and Donovan Jackson
not being able to finish the game. And at one
point I was watching it while add in appearance, so
I'll admit I did not see that Deisaw had left
and would not return. I didn't notice his absence until
Rashan Gary got around Justin's school and forced what would
(40:52):
be the first of two interceptions on the stat sheet
for the kid QB.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Then I look into it. Okay, Darisaw is out. That's
no good.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
Oh wait, Donovan Jackson's that's not good. That's worrisome into
a game regardless of who the passer is going to
be against the Seattle Front on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Well, darra Saw had the knee, which basically is thirteen
months ago, close to it twelve and a half months ago,
So then you sweat that whole thing. You get him back,
and I think when he left it was two separate things.
It was an ankle and something else. So hopefully he's
able to practice this week and give brut give whichever
(41:27):
quarterback is going to play the best opportunity to execute
his toil with Brandell. He's if Brandell has to play,
then Brandell has to play. But Donovan Jackson, that's a
tough guy right there. Remember he played a game. What
game was it? It was like the Cincinnati game or something
with a broken wrist. Was he injured in the Falcons game? Played?
Thank you? Since the game?
Speaker 2 (41:48):
Yeah, then missed maybe the first of the international bits.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
I think he missed both, and then he came back.
But the bottom line is all you hear about in
paying tolerance is high. Read something this morning that indicated that,
or maybe O'Connell said it that he wanted to go
back into the game Sunday at Lambeau. So that doesn't
seem to be copyright Carol King. So far away when
it comes to the earth moving under his feet copyright
(42:14):
Carol King. I got no idea on a Tuesday whether
they're going to play on a Sunday. But the first
injury report is tomorrow. Practices begin tomorrow, and we will
have better information moving throughout the week. Bikes bites, bikes bytes,
Thank you, Thousand Hills.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
I know that the border battle as bad as he
was the second half, in particular, as bad as he was,
the team ran for fifteen attempts in the first half,
and I think it was fifteen carries between the backs
eighty six rushing yards. And I'm curious from your vantage
point from the vox box at Lambeau, you know, conservative
game plan, this, that, and the other thing.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
It was ten six at half. We weren't getting explosive.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
We can go down the road on all the QB
bits as we know and have, but in the end,
just at a base level, his commitment to the run
in the first half, finding productivity there. Do you think
there's anything the coach can take from an otherwise awful
game and an l in the border battle, I get it,
but taking from the run game what he was able
to produce with Mason and Jones working that in throughout
(43:15):
the first half.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
In the presser yesterday when Kevin was talking about it,
the way he put it after watching back the game
was that he got a little conservative. That he went
on the conservative side in the first half, which meant
running more in different spots, and that segued into the
attack mentality that I'm going to bring this up with
(43:37):
Kevin and I'll get it all squared away. From a
Verviae standpoint, but the ability to attack, the desire to attack,
what attacking has meant to the Minnesota Vikings overall winning,
but specifically offensively the importance of being able to attack.
I'm going to ask him about that today and see
what he meant, and then like, you know, what are
(43:58):
some of the keys when it comes to that, and
we'll see how we mixes in the running equation. Well,
the running game, no matter if you're doing it thirty
nine percent like twenty twenty two or whatever percent it's
at this year, it is vital and everybody in the
world knows it, because you don't have a play action
(44:18):
game if you don't have some effectiveness with your running game.
That's why in twenty twenty three, after there was no
Dalvin Dalvin Cook, you know, we of course are going
to pull for Alexander Madison and poll for whatever running
backs do. Jour made up the room that year. But
the nine to noon main concern in the offseason and
up to the season was is anybody going to respect
(44:42):
the explosive nature or lack thereof of Alexander Madison and
how will that impact safeties and linebackers taking bites bites
of that cheese because they think you're going to run
well with Mason and Jones. It's different where they do
have to respect that, and we did see that to
a c an extent on Sunday, even though things didn't
work out the right way. Good question. The ability and
(45:05):
desire to attack is something that resonated with yours, Shurly
from a KOs press conference yesterday. We'll hit him with
that about an hour from now.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Back to the O line for a second. Ryan Kelly
returning to the field on Sunday. Now, I do remember
a particular play. I think it was a sack by
Devonte Wyatt in the end, but it was started with
Micah Parsons inside working opposite Ryan Kelly and sent Ryan
Kelly flying. Other than that, bad moment, tough moment resulted
(45:35):
in a sack. Did anything else stand out to you
in terms of Ryan Kelly getting back on.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
The field for the Purple at Lambeau. Excellent question. The
early stages of the game, you could tell he was
making an impact, picking up picking off guys in certain situations.
But I would imagine as the game went on, having
not played in quite some time, at least as this
season goes that, you know the fatigue and the wear
(46:02):
and tear is going to set in, so he needed
that race. It seems like he came out of that
race okay, and now he'll be heading into a race
in the Cappuccino Capitol, going against the likes of crafty
veteran Leonard Williams, eleventh year from USC, Byron Murphy the second,
second year from Texas first round pick in twenty twenty four,
sixteenth overall beefeaters Behind them include Brandon Peely, third year
(46:26):
USC and something called Mike Morris, third year from Michigan.
Then on the outside they have Uchenna Nwosu and DeMarcus
Lawrence who knew the former cowboy DeMarcus Lawrence. With Boye
Mafe behind him, they all could be a gap muggers.
But Murphy the second and Leonard Williams and Peeley, they're
(46:49):
going to be right up in Kelly's mix and they're
all big and he bet'll be ready to go last
wikebite for you. Yeah, this is kind of in the
realm of strays of kindness. It's a four win team
and what we expected versus what we've gotten a lot
of it hasn't worked out. Only two penalties a game
the last two PA only two flags, with Chicago only
(47:11):
two flags at Lambeau, What do you think was it?
Was it the eight false starts against the Ravens that
just had everybody looking in the mirror trying to figure
out how to operate differently, because that is a very
stark statistical change versus what we saw through the first
nine after the eight fall starts at home, I mean,
(47:33):
it's clear there was a flogging, and there was a
flogging potentially of many, and why wouldn't there be, I mean,
the fan base would come to expect you, right because
the head coach during and after the Chargers game was
made out to be some barbarian, some barbarians sacrificing man
on national television. So I don't exactly know what turned
(47:55):
around with the attention to detail being first and foremost,
playing responsibly and just paying better attention, but that undoubtedly
is something that has taken a positive term. We head
into the second part of the radio program from TCOPC
