Speaker 1 (00:01):
Bad common then common man, no shore people, solid plant, spirit,
approach or failtery. It's time for common man, com man,
common man. Charge house was going again?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
What should where we play? Now?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
It's a nonsense.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
I'm dectity today.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
It's time for common man.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Why should anybody aspire to be a common man? An
average man? Do you realize what it means to be average?
That means you're the best of the lousiest and the
lousiest of the best. Now, if we demand more and
more for producing less and less while they have not,
nations encourage and inspire, and indeed require hard work and
maximum effort. If we deify the common man while they

(00:59):
encourage and reward the uncommon ones, well, the end result
of such a lopside embraces that is too obvious to
require elaborations.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Brilliant.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
Out of hundreds of deals that I've done, all for
hundreds hundreds.

Speaker 6 (01:19):
Welcome back to the spotlight, young man.

Speaker 7 (01:24):
Rout.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
You don't know nothing the bears or.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Who we thought they were, and that's why we took
the damn field. Now, if you want to crown them,
they crown your ass. But they are who we thought
they were, and we learn about the hook.

Speaker 8 (01:45):
There's somewhere when you practice, you'll set up chairs there
you run through chairs with the shows.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
The white depress looks work as chairs.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
There is.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
You say, glassy san Diego, I'm breaking up, Bob here
breaking damn dancer. Blurre you doing glitter?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
You doing blitter? You're doing what?

Speaker 8 (02:19):
How?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
This appointing is at the black.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Were the state of hockey and I think that brows that.
So he's on a deep rock, stumps up in the pocket.
You'll fire to the right side, bomb my DAGs.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Stay, Oh my god, oh my god?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Are they.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Are you killing me? In the MIDI alway step on
jacks brack drop to do Saints.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
That's a sixty yard.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Well that seems like a long time, you know.

Speaker 7 (03:14):
To fo.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
He's the clown from Brown, He's the fourth in the north.
This is the common man, Dan Cole. I think you
weren't there. You wouldn't go to a Viking stand. You're right,
I generally wouldn't.

Speaker 8 (03:31):
But faith, family, fair ways, frequency, finances, friends. I actually
put finances ahead of friends. Sorry, I mean.

Speaker 9 (03:47):
All for one and one for all you can That
only goes so far.

Speaker 8 (03:51):
Man in the silk suit hurries by catches a poor
old lady's eye and just for funny, says, get a job.
Deuce wanted to go to the playoff game, Saints versus Vikings,
so I was able to come up with four tickets.

Speaker 9 (04:05):
Decent seats.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
You know, we were.

Speaker 8 (04:09):
Middle not not lower bowl, not upper bowl. I guess
you'd call it middle Bowl. I think we were gosh,
I don't even remember. And we weren't fifty yard line,
but we weren't in the corner of the end zone either.
We had decent seats.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
It was me.

Speaker 9 (04:23):
Deuce is good pal, home, the home, the whole, the
old man Hone and and his boy.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
We all went to the game.

Speaker 8 (04:36):
Before of us, we took the neighbor and the neighbors
to the game, Trenton and Trenton he has a twin
brother named Ian and they both go to school. I
think Trenton's going.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
To Iowa right now.

Speaker 8 (04:50):
Yeah, And anyway, we went to the game, and Deuce
is right tendaby. Had had it been Deuce and I
not the neighbors with us, I would have left early.
I would have missed the Minneapoism miracles. I would have said, you.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Know, I always love that one.

Speaker 9 (05:07):
This game's over. Let's let's let's beat the traffic, because.

Speaker 8 (05:09):
If you remember it, it was I don't know if
it was a blizzard, but there was a pretty good
snowfall in that night and it was going to take
some time to get home. But it was like, Okay,
I guess we got to stay, and sure enough, there
we were, and I watched it happen, and it was weird.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
The play happened so quickly.

Speaker 8 (05:27):
It was hard to see even really what happened, even
from my vantage point, which was a pretty good seat.
And the Saints guy just blew it right and that
went down. He just kind of, yeah, the safety I
still don't know what he was doing. Yeah, he was
doing a camp dance. Wasn't playing the body, but he
couldn't get to the ball. Yeah, Kim dancer. He was
like a chair.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah he was cam dancer. What are you doing?

Speaker 8 (05:49):
This wasn't Detroit, went oh for the Saints, who would
be This isn't These aren't the Falcons, This isn't Charlotte. Yeah,
this isn't Charlotte. This is the uh, this is the playoffs,
and so yeah, and then it all came crashing down.
The next the best part of that game was still
when one of the most unlikable figures in football, Sean Payton, yeah,

(06:15):
was mocking the school chant with you know, like minutes ago.
He looked back at the fans and he was doing
the school thing like that because they thought he had the.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Game wrapped up. I literally thought about that moment Sunday
because they were playing the Chiefs on Sunday. The game
was tied and they had a game winning field goal.
As time experied before they kicked the field goal, Sean
Payton was just yucking it up on the sidelines as
if the game was already over him. Oh and I
had a flashback to Minneapolis Miracle when he was mocking
the skull chante. I was like, man, I really hope

(06:44):
they missed this kick, just because he's getting too cocky
over there.

Speaker 8 (06:47):
But now he's got that Denver club and how much
credit he gets, I don't know, but there's a lot
of credit.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
He's got that Denver club.

Speaker 9 (06:57):
Right where they need to be. Matter of fact, we're
going to take a look at before the programs over.

Speaker 8 (07:00):
You know, me, Tenneby, why do we like list radio
Because it's lazy radio and we're lazy.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
List radio.

Speaker 8 (07:06):
I love when they when they put out the power rankings.
So we'll take a look at that as the afternoon progresses.
We're here until two. The legendary Mark Rosen will join
us just before one o'clock. We'll get his thoughts on
on the Vikings and what transpired this past weekend at

(07:29):
the Bank where the Vikings basically had victory snap from
the jaws of defeat or was it defeats and whatever
the case may be. When they had they they drove
down the field, took the lead, and then they gave
up the fifty Yeah, there was a fifty six yard
kick kickoff returned to DuVernay Pro Bowl kid, and that
basically put him in field goal range. And I don't

(07:51):
think Ben Johnson was yucking it up on the sideline
because with his with his kicker, I don't know if
I trust that kid.

Speaker 9 (07:56):
But he made it and that was that was the
end of that.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
And you know, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (08:02):
I'm almost and this will probably be a relief for
a lot of people.

Speaker 8 (08:05):
I think I feel like I've spent more time talking
about JJ McCarthy on the radio than anything else that
we've talked about in maybe forever.

Speaker 9 (08:14):
Because he's he just he's supposed to be the franchise quarterback.
It hasn't worked so far. It's only five games, but
it's just been so.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Ugly.

Speaker 9 (08:26):
I guess is the best way to put it.

Speaker 8 (08:28):
That you just you find yourself or you know, rolling
your eyes, shrugging your shoulders and shaking your head. Here's
somebody that sent a text message to to me that says,
have we ever tried to listen to the radio call
for the Saints on.

Speaker 9 (08:41):
The Minneapolis Miracle? Would that kill a segment?

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Or you think it wasn't?

Speaker 8 (08:45):
I wonder if we could find that anywhere, if that's
impossible to find, because that the the calls of the
games when you win are always great, right, I mean
you know, I mean maybe the best of all times
when Holy Cross the golfers. We played that all the time.
I mean, those guys are screaming at the top of
their lungs, their voices are cracking, the.

Speaker 9 (09:05):
One guy is starting to blubber.

Speaker 8 (09:06):
We play it all the time during matter of fact,
at the very end of the show, don't we isn't
that the guy that says and good night Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Isn't that the Holy Crosscross? Holy Cross. Yeah, that's the
Holy Cross game.

Speaker 8 (09:21):
So the wins are always fun to listen to, but
the losses the devastating law well, you know, I mean
my favorite I don't know if it's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
PA call, but the no game when the uh, I've
got it right here?

Speaker 10 (09:32):
You do?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yes? Well it says it's three minutes long. Do you
want to listen to all three minutes?

Speaker 9 (09:38):
Yeah, let's go aead, do it all right?

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Third and ten from the Viking, thirty nine precious seconds
left on the clock, the Vikings state of completion and
an apparent field goal attempt. Here's keenan dropping looking throwing
near sideline minutes clock by step on the Digs.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Who's gonna take it inside?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
At fifteen ten five touch down on the final play
of this game?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Are you kidding me? You know, he could have came
up and just tackled him.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
He stuck, put his.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Head down, and he didn't step out of bounce. Then
they're gonna review it.

Speaker 7 (10:20):
But he didn't step out of bound sixty one yard
touchdown strife. The step on Higgs almost looked like the
Saints defender straight up with an intent to.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Intercept the pass.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Instead, they couldn't get their hands on this.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
If I right into there was a step on the Higgs,
the prerequirt he didn't view it looked like it, but
he never stepped out. Marcus william just he ducked his head.
He ducked his head. That's fall game, man. He just
ducked his head. He didn't even have to duck it.
Just come up and make the tackle.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
It's all you have to do.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Just come up and make the tackle. He tried to
the keel shot.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Wow case keenan when his hands out scratched. Accepting the
products of these fans as well, he should Marcus Williams
doesn't enough devastation.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
With that said, it's to be a much much different call.
Pia was making this call.

Speaker 8 (11:15):
Yeah, these guys seem to have a grip on reality
and they realized it's just a game.

Speaker 9 (11:18):
It's not the end of the world, our national treasure.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I mean it, just wrap them up. All you got
to do is just tackling.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
That's all you gotta do.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
No more time on the clock, Just up and tackling.
He goes in for the kill shot. You can't allow
anybody behind you.

Speaker 10 (11:33):
Just just come up and tackle him, Just tackle him.
He need one for the kill shots, not at all. Yeah,
there's not enough devastations running it down. Yeah, it's just disappointing.

Speaker 8 (11:43):
Yeah, I mean I wanted to be you know, I
wanted her to be like softy or crusty whatever he is.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Well, that was a victory.

Speaker 8 (11:49):
He cried when he came out with Pater they won
the Super Bowl. He came out the air with pa
and he was he was blubbering.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Was more devastated on a mediocre Vikings team not making
the playoffs, and they were advanced, advancing in the conference championship,
especially on a miracle play.

Speaker 9 (12:07):
On a miracle play, especially the way it went down.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, yeah, it was that.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
That's not enough disappointment.

Speaker 9 (12:16):
That's that's just not enough. I don't like that.

Speaker 8 (12:19):
Here's a text message that came in that says, I
left the miracle early. My buddy and I've seen this
movie before we left. I followed him out a bit later.
I crawled into the front of his truck while he
brushed off his car. When Vox made the call, I
jumped out and scared of half to death. Then I
made snow angels in the parking lot. Sixty five thousand
people can say they saw it. Only I can say
I was making I can make I was I say

(12:43):
I was making snow angels.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
So he did miss it. He ducked out early.

Speaker 8 (12:48):
We had an emailer years ago tell us that I
think it was his dad or his grandfather left the
Twins game in the ninth any of Game seven ninety
one World Series.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
You've got to be I don't even know if I believe.
But I don't know.

Speaker 9 (13:03):
I guess because you just had enough baseball for the
day and it was okay with you.

Speaker 8 (13:07):
But yeah, that's that's that was the claim. And whether
it happened or not, I'm not really sure.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Let's go ahead and take a first break of the program.

Speaker 8 (13:14):
As I say, I want to get Rosen's thoughts on
a number of things in including uh, what happened at
uh at the the bank just passed weekend where the
Vikings felt fall to four and six with that loss,
uh to the bear so and did correct? We don't
have a keyword today, no keyword, no keyword today. We'll

(13:35):
bring that back in a future date. We'll take a break,
come back with more. It's the Common d program right
here on a hand.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Cafan welcomes trans Siberian Orchestra Siberian Orchestra close to the Edge,
just by the river, down by the Edge, round by
the Corner for two amazing shows at Target Center and
the summer twenty eighth at three pm and seven thirty pm.
I'll be the round About. Tickets are on sale now.

(14:09):
Oh I'm supposed to do another one. Sorry about that.
It complete show details, including a linked by ticket, said
kayfpan dot com keeper calendar. Yea a couple thirteen fourteen past.
I'm the common man, he is Tennabe. One other person
said they, you know, leaving UH sporting events early. He says,

(14:30):
I left the half I left at the half of
the Colts Vikings comeback game. Well, that one's understandable.

Speaker 8 (14:37):
Well because he says, there's a reason it was the
greatest comeback in NFL history because it was preceded by
the worst half of football in NFL history, which it
really was.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah, that would be one where I wouldn't blame anybody
for leaving him. And that's just that one. I get
ninety one World Series Game seven.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
No.

Speaker 8 (14:52):
Well, yeah, but if you're old Tennabe and you don't
care that much, see, that's what you know you've had
We've talked about this before. If you really don't care,
you just went to the game because you had tickets.
There are people that just don't care.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Well, you have to care a little to go. You
can't not care at all.

Speaker 9 (15:10):
I don't hold it against anybody for leaving any sporting
event at anytime.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
None.

Speaker 9 (15:15):
It's just sports, sports, sports, if your whole life is
just sports.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
But I mostly agree with you. I think the ninety
one World Series Game seven is like the extreme. It
is what is the extreme.

Speaker 9 (15:24):
But I would still say if that's what you wanted
to do.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
More power.

Speaker 8 (15:29):
I'm not saying should arrested. That I respect him for it.
That he just said, it's just not that big of
a deal. I know someone's going to win this game eventually,
and they did, and you know the winning run was
it was you know, wasn't that a.

Speaker 9 (15:40):
Larkin with a with a sacrifice fly to left field?

Speaker 2 (15:44):
So it's you know, i'd rather technically a double. Yeah,
I mean that's right. It went over.

Speaker 9 (15:48):
The guys had day because they were playing the infield
in I would have rather.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
It would have been better.

Speaker 8 (15:54):
I would you know, a play at the plate and
he was safe, but you know, you can't have everything.
Was already the greatest Game seven World Series, certainly the
pitching performance.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
You can't have everything.

Speaker 9 (16:02):
So yeah, I guess I understand. You have some breaking
news for us.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Are you ready for another sports team in town? Are
you being serious?

Speaker 7 (16:13):
Who?

Speaker 2 (16:13):
We have? Major League Volleyball is coming to Grand Casino
Arena in Saint Paul. Craig Leopold and a number of
other investors have purchased a Major League Volleyball team that
will play at Grand Casino Arena where the Minnesota Wild play.
You can learn more at Mlvminnesota dot com. Name, logo, colors,
et cetera. Will be announced in twenty twenty six. Okay,

(16:36):
and when did they start next year?

Speaker 9 (16:38):
Is that when they start?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
This is the very little amount of information I have
on this. That's all this point. Okay, Yeah, you know
it's we talk about.

Speaker 8 (16:50):
Oversaturation of sports and markets. But if you are a
fan of volleyball, how successful will it be?

Speaker 2 (16:57):
I don't I don't know. I mean, how many people
will go?

Speaker 9 (17:06):
I would suppose it'll a lot of the fans I.

Speaker 8 (17:10):
Think will be people that played volleyball or had children
that played volleyball, right, and they got into the sport
because I, you know, I.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Yeah, I don't know, how about you.

Speaker 8 (17:24):
To me, it's like it's okay, I'm not against it,
but it just seems like there's so many.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Seems like a big arena for Yeah, maybe Major League
volleyball is more popular than I know of nationally. I
think they do pretty well in terms of ratings and
stuff when they're nationally televised. But are we filling up
for Gopher volleyball?

Speaker 8 (17:47):
Are filling up when I think when they were and
I don't know where they're ranked now, I still think
we have a formidable volleyball team.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I know when was it.

Speaker 8 (17:57):
Hugh McCutcheon didn't hes in the top five for several
years ago, and I think then the crowds were probably
pretty good. Well, if you remember when Deuce was in Nebraska,
they had the they hell hell it was a volleyball
game outdoors at at Memorial Stadium. That over ninety thousand
people attended volleyball game. So now I think that was

(18:19):
part of just the fun of let's see if we
can set an attendance record, right. I don't know how
many of those people were really into volleyball, but yeah,
so uh film at eleven. This one says there's something
to be said about leaving events at the perfect moment.
For example, Rosen leaves Dinners right before the bill comes.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
This one says.

Speaker 8 (18:45):
I left halfway through flop, sweat and tears, and I
heard meat Sauce had the performance of a lifetime, So
I heard.

Speaker 10 (18:55):
You.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
One I left the inning before Tennebe accidentally.

Speaker 8 (19:00):
Hit a Beer League home run, missing a display of
power not unlike that of an MLB home run champion.
One says I left the Stevie Wonder concert about halfway through.

Speaker 9 (19:11):
He didn't even come on stage until nine pm. I've
left concerts early. Yeah, well not even It's not the lateness,
it's just.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
They just didn't do it.

Speaker 8 (19:25):
I've talked about how I left the McCartney concert over
at XL Energy Center because it was I saw that
same exact concert over at US.

Speaker 9 (19:32):
Bank Stadium two years prior. So I just said that's
enough for me.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
I'm gonna head home.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
This text messager says pro volleyball is very big outside
of the United States. I had no idea I like
a good volleyball match. I mean, deuce and I watched
the other day when Nebraska was playing somebody. It was
a two highly ranked teams.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
We had it on.

Speaker 8 (19:54):
I mean it wasn't like I was pacing back and
forth and jumping up and down and cheering or anything
like that. But I watched a little bit, don't mind
a little volleyball. Deuce has called a few volleyball games.
He's got a hockey game tonight, Lakeville North playing hockey
this evening. He's doing it on a game time Minnesota
MN dot Com. I think it's is the website, so
he's going to be doing that. But yeah, so I've watched.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
I I don't know, there's eight other teams right now
in the league, so the Minnesota franchise become the ninth.
It looks like they're set for twenty twenty seven seven
Atlanta Vibe, Columbus Fury, Dallas Pulse, Grand Rapids, Rise, Indie Ignite,
Omaha Supernova's Orlando Belcries, and San Diego Mojo the Mojo.

Speaker 9 (20:38):
Mister Mojo's rising.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (20:40):
Now it seems like two when when when these new
when these sports come up with leagues, they they're not
going with the Bears, the Lions, Jack Bar, They're not
doing the animals. Yeah, they're they're they're taking them the vibe.
But this one says golfer volleyball apparently averages.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Forty eight hundred in attendance.

Speaker 9 (21:07):
That's a decent sized crowd.

Speaker 8 (21:11):
This one says I left the golf course early after
realizing I was stuck behind common.

Speaker 9 (21:15):
No, you couldn't have, because nobody plays faster than I too.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
We played.

Speaker 8 (21:22):
At Prestwick this past Saturday morning. We were walking off
eighteen and the other group was still getting probably well,
they hadn't gotten seventeen when we teed off on eighteen
tea box.

Speaker 9 (21:35):
They weren't even on.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Sixteen green yet. So sorry, man, you know you wouldn't
You wouldn't even know I'd finished playing golf at that point.
So that's what we do. This one says.

Speaker 8 (21:53):
I left the course right before Tennabe fist pumped when
he sunk his putt for a ten.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
I think a lot of people did on that one.
This one says I left the grum before roseen stole.
Another sports take from Ben Lieber.

Speaker 8 (22:05):
Writing staff or the contributors at their very best. I
can't believe people are willing to travel to northern Minnesota
to see professional volleyball I agree. I mean, you go
all the way to Grand Rapids, especially if they're going
to be a team down here in Minneapolis. So we're
going to have two teams because did you say Grand
Rapids at a club, Yes, that would be the Grand

(22:29):
Rapids rise. So the rise up in Grand Rapids, and
then you've got I guess we'll have a built.

Speaker 9 (22:35):
In rivalry, right.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Sure, that's kind of a border battle.

Speaker 9 (22:38):
It's an in state in state rivalry, so that should
be kind of fun.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
I'm looking forward to.

Speaker 8 (22:42):
That controversial of Vikings news on the other side of
the break. We'll take a look at that, and then
we'll welcome Mark Rosen into the conversation.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Just before too right here on the fans, caff Fan
and the Vikings are teaming up for Toys for Tots.

the name of the place again? That would be a
Toys for Tots for doing it live at Shields and
needing Prairie day. Would that be Tuesday, December second, all
day too, or at five thirty to six thirty pm. Yeah,

(23:36):
something from the unreal basically six to seven.

Speaker 8 (23:40):
Now it's five thirty, but basically six and then six
thirty seven. Basically six seven God, because the powers are
blocked to be there early to set up. Yeah, so
six seven, okay, enough for six seven.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
I had something.

Speaker 9 (23:56):
Happened to me last night that's never happened before. Maybe
it hasn't. I just was aware of it, so I know.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
I had what I thought was a.

Speaker 9 (24:08):
A furnace emergency.

Speaker 8 (24:09):
My wife was washing dishes and I was doing the
Crosswood puzzle, just another you know average It's a Tuesday
and Monday night at thirteen fourteen insane Lane Deuce was
gaming doing Dude bro Bro Dude, Dude bro Bro Dude
and baby brother Peter called us last night from the
and we talked last night. He's coming home for Thanksgiving.

(24:29):
Guess what He's coming home on Friday. Oh, he's coming
home a little bit early. His last class I think
is today our last test, and then he's just got
clear sailing.

Speaker 9 (24:38):
The rest of the week. He's flying into town. It'll
be good to see him.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
But we're watching. All of a sudden we hear.

Speaker 8 (24:43):
Something clank, and my wife goes, what's that? And it
sounded like it came from the garage. And I just
spent time this weekend in the garage. I'm I'm down, said,
you know, we're we're putting in our house on the
market this spring. I'm trying to get rid of things.
So I redid the garage and I'm getting rid of

(25:03):
some stuff and blatta lah. Anyways, go out there, don't
see anything. My wife goes downstairs, and all of a sudden,
she goes, oh my gosh, she calls me down there.

Speaker 9 (25:13):
The furnace. There's a I don't understand that all.

Speaker 8 (25:18):
But the furnace. There's some where you have to replace
a water filter on the furnace. Don't ask me to
explain it. I don't know how it works. I don't
know if it's if it's the humidifier system or whatever
it is. Well, I had change the flap in there
from the winter from the summer mode to the winter mode,
and I must not have put the cover, the plast

(25:38):
to cover that snaps into place in firmly enough, because
the thing had come out and water was everywhere on
the floor down there, and there's water everywhere, and it
looks like it's coming out of all kinds of different places.

Speaker 9 (25:49):
So my wife says, maybe we ought to call a
repair place and see if they'll come on.

Speaker 8 (25:55):
I'll cost extra money, and they charge you three hundred
dollars after hours, right just to come out and look
at it.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Right.

Speaker 8 (26:01):
So I said, yeah, maybe we better. It might this
might there might be a bigger that might not be
the only issue. And I don't want the furnace to
short circuit start the house on fire. Right, And remember
I'm not very good at any of these things.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
I can't do this.

Speaker 8 (26:13):
And I can't call Carl at ten thirty or eleven
o'clock at night and have them come over look at
my furnace.

Speaker 9 (26:18):
That's my neighbor, Carl, who does all my handiwork for me.

Speaker 8 (26:22):
So I call the place and I get the answering service,
and after they answered the phone, I said, you're not
a real person, are.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
You, And AI that was said, no, I'm not.

Speaker 9 (26:37):
But I can still help you.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
I'm with you.

Speaker 8 (26:44):
It's really hard to talk to what is basically an
inadamate object, right. I just found it was so uncomfortable
for me. I guess I'm gonna have to get used
to it, because I think that is.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
The way of the world.

Speaker 8 (26:57):
Right, that they're not going to pay some but fifteen
dollars an hour to answer the phone in the middle
of the night at an answering service.

Speaker 9 (27:03):
They're going to use artificial intelligence.

Speaker 8 (27:07):
And just the voice was so sing songy, and you know,
it sounded realistic obviously, but I could tell right away
that it wasn't a real person, and they admitted it
because I pause, and I said, such a stupid question.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I said, you're not a.

Speaker 8 (27:23):
Real person, are you? And AI said, no, I'm not,
but I can still help you. So then I ordered
the emergency service. Then I went back down and said,
there's nothing wrong here, and I called them back and
it was the same person.

Speaker 9 (27:36):
They had a fake name, I think it was, I
don't know. I think it was Kathy.

Speaker 8 (27:41):
He actually used a regular, a human name, And I said,
I want to cancel. Okay, we can do that for you.
I said, now, when I canceled, You're not going to
charge me the trip money, now, are you? No, you
will not be charged the trip money as long as
you've canceled. Thank you very much and have a great day.
But it was just have you had to deal with

(28:02):
talking with an A and I just you know.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
I mean, I knew it wasn't like an AI. It
was more just a computerize version. But okay, there comes
a point where I had one where I just kept
getting like recycled through right, like you if you want
to do this option one, if you want to do
this option two, And I would click option five and
it would end up not turning out and it would
send me right back to the beginning every time, right,
And I just want to talk to a live person.

(28:25):
That's all I want to do. I just want to
talk to human being. Yeah, but they, but they, they they.

Speaker 8 (28:34):
And I and I guess I understand it because it
must be less expensive. Well I've heard or run AI
it costs a fortune because there's so much power put
into it.

Speaker 9 (28:44):
You know what I'm saying. There's so much electricity being used.
So I don't understand that all.

Speaker 8 (28:48):
But yeah, I just I was crushfalling because I felt
like you're there's and there's nothing you can do about it.
If you want the service done, you have to talk
to somebody that's not real person. And so I had
to do it, and I was glad I cancel because
I don't want to talk to I.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Would you like an Ai version of Tennabe for when
I'm not able to join you on some days?

Speaker 8 (29:09):
I thought they I thought this was already a Tennabe,
an AI version of Tennabe, you know. I I guess
we could try it.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
I mean, the Morning Show does like the meat sauce robot,
do they? That's pretty good.

Speaker 9 (29:21):
I guess we could try something like that.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
But I'm not. I'm just not.

Speaker 9 (29:30):
I just it was. It was demoralizing for me, and
I don't know why, but I just didn't.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
I didn't. I didn't like it much at all.

Speaker 8 (29:38):
I have a question for you regarding the Vikings and
the quarterback situation, and we sort of talked a little
bit about it.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
I think the other day.

Speaker 8 (29:46):
Vikings are at Green Bay this week to take on
and I can't find anybody anywhere.

Speaker 9 (29:50):
That's picking the Vikings.

Speaker 8 (29:52):
Not always every single website I go to where they
pull their staff writers. It's all one, picking Green Bay,
there's nobody even going I'll be a little bit different here.
I'll go ahead and take the Vikings on this one.
There's nobody doing that, and for good reason.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
This is sort of.

Speaker 9 (30:11):
What if the Vikings were to get out to a
two zero lead? Kind of a question, right, what if?

Speaker 8 (30:18):
What if McCarthy's even And I don't know if this
is possible, but what if he's even worse at Curly
than he was this past Sunday? Take away that last
drive where he's overthrowing wide receivers against Do you go doors?
Do you go to Brosmer? I mean, can the coach

(30:39):
actually say, I know this is our future. We don't
want to shatter the kid's confidence, even if he hasn't
and it sounds like he does, even though he hasn't
played very well. Do you go to Brosmer? Or you
just saying no, we have to continue to force feed
the kid because he is. We've kind of hitched our
wagon too, this kid. I mean, we traded up to

(31:01):
get him at number ten, went from eleven to ten,
didn't go very far, but we traded up to get them.
We let a potent Now I know Donald was awful
against the Rams this week and I and there's the
Donald haters are just so excited about that. Still want
to see Sam Donald in a biking uniform? Well, yeah,
I guess I would. All quarterbacks are going to have
poor games, right, Matt Stafford had a.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Poor Lamar Jackson even though they won, Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Didn't have a good game.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 8 (31:26):
It Even Caleb Williams who won, he had the same
exact sixteen for thirty two, exactly what McCarthy did.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
He wasn't that now he had he had some bad
drops on his side too.

Speaker 9 (31:35):
But he was also saying they were both sixteen for
three two, but they did win.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Can you do that?

Speaker 8 (31:44):
Can you go to Brosmer and you know, I mean
we've seen it happen before. We're quarterbacks. Didn't you bring
up somebody or was it a listener that brought because
we talked a little bit about it yesterday where some
team had their new franchise quarterback and they actually pulled
him for a few games and then put them.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
By the Carolina ended with Bryce Yep last year. Now,
in their situation, I don't know if that was the
right idea, just because you know, the Carolina Panthers last year,
other than other than Adam Thielen, the expectations of them
making a big game were very, very low, so when
they were in rebuild mode. So I don't know why

(32:24):
they pulled the trigger to try to get you the
win quick. Andy Dalton on your side, but he did
come back later in the year, played better towards the
end of the year. This year, I would say he's
been mediocre at best, but they have a winning record
and he did perform well in their last game. But
regarding Brosburg, they are getting awfully close now to the

(32:47):
point where the season is not going to matter, So
why pull McCarthy. You're getting to the point where, like, well,
you just play McCarthy because you want to get him
as many reps as possible. Right, you go to Brosmer
if you think you can still salvage the season, and
I guess at four and six you can still salvage
the season, but you're not that far away now from

(33:09):
that season becoming unsalvagable, right Yeah. I mean, like I said,
they got to go ten and one or excuse me,
six and one the rest of the way, and even
that might not get you in.

Speaker 9 (33:22):
Alan Lewis writes for The Athletic.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
But if they do it again, and they gotta be
green Bay, because you're gonna get to the point now
where you won't be able to pass Green Bay, you
won't be able to pass Chicago.

Speaker 8 (33:33):
And well that's why I wonder if if if if
he I guess, if you're you're doing it. You want
to look at Brosmer.

Speaker 9 (33:39):
Yeah, I guess if you're down thirty nothing, then it
doesn't matter.

Speaker 8 (33:43):
But you know, what if what if they're just the
defense is keeping green Bay at Bay part in the
pun for the most part.

Speaker 9 (33:49):
But McCarthy's terrible.

Speaker 8 (33:51):
You're down sixteen to three in the third car, yeah,
or you know, and he does another three and out
where he overthrows Jefferson again and Jefferson slams his helmet
on a the equipment box.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
I mean, what can you would the coach do that?

Speaker 8 (34:02):
If you'll remember, he was asked immediately following the game
in the news conference, was there any thought of going
to Brosemar. He goes, I'm not going to talk about that.
I don't want to go there. He did not want
to discuss that, and almost as if and I don't
know if that meant he he might have been thinking
about it but didn't want to admit that he was
thinking about it, or if almost that's a that's a

(34:24):
terrible question, because we're not going to go in another direction.

Speaker 9 (34:27):
We're going to keep it with the car.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
I don't know what it means. Well, it's hard to
know what they how they feel about Brosmer right too,
that's the other aspect. I mean, they did go and
get Carson Wentz before the season began, so obviously they
didn't think Brozmer could be the number two immediately. But
I if they think there's a long term future in
brozmern if it's the old I'd like to get a

(34:49):
look at him, see what he can do. This one says,
are we forgetting?

Speaker 8 (34:54):
The Vikings beat the Lions at Detroit and the Packers
almost just lost to the Giants.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 8 (35:00):
I think what this text message is saying this season
isn't they're not out of it yet?

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Now again at four and six and the Bears that
I didn't say they were out of it now, I'm
just saying they're getting close to being out of it. No, No,
I don't think he was Okay, I'm not he wasn't.
I don't think he was.

Speaker 9 (35:15):
He was responding to you.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
I think he was just saying. I think he suggesting
you you almost have to put Brosman.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Got it.

Speaker 8 (35:22):
If if if you're still in the game against Green Bay,
you're not this weekend and Brose.

Speaker 9 (35:32):
McCarthy's playing poorly, that you that you have to go
with them.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Here's one that says.

Speaker 8 (35:40):
This coach could not handle Brozemer coming in and looking functional.
He and his GM are so in love with McCarthy
that they cannot even try what the forty nine ers
did by giving a lot to draft Lance at fourth
or overaw and admitting the last pick in the draft
is their best option ahead of time.

Speaker 9 (35:58):
Garoppolo, who had been to I don't know. He's just.

Speaker 8 (36:02):
I don't understand what he's I think he's texting, and
it's something getting lost in the translation. I think he's
saying that he doesn't think that because the GM and
the head coach are tied to this guy, and he's
supposed to be your franchise quarterback.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Specifically the coach even more so than the GM. Right,
he's been called the quarterback whisperer, Right, I'm guessing he
had a pretty darn strong hand in whether they went
and got McCarthy or not. Right Like, I don't think
that's all crazy. Just here, I'm gonna drap McCarthy do
with him. You know, he's getting a ton of input.
That was probably Koc's guy, well other than Drake May apparently,

(36:42):
So that would be a hit to Koc's eagle ego.
To the guy you handpicked, the guy that you're supposed
to be quarterback, whisper for and developed, you didn't do it.

Speaker 8 (36:53):
This one says, I don't get the coddling with Cousins
and McCarthy. This regime is terrified of having a QB competition.
I think this coach would rather see McCarthy struggled and
Brozemer come in and have some success and then have
a legitimate QB competition. I can't believe that this was
a close competition last year between him and Darnald. We
were told all off season that McCarthy was ready and
he was our guy, even though we flirted with hold On.

(37:18):
We flirted with all three options in Jones, Donald and Rogers.
And this one says what happens when Brosmer looks just
as bad or worse than McCarthy, not if when I
suppose that's possible, I mean, because if you know, with McCarthy,
there's a track record of success on the high school
and college level, not so much with Brozmer.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (37:41):
I'm sure he was a good high school quarterback, probably
won a lot of games, and I don't know how
well they did in New Hampshire.

Speaker 9 (37:45):
He had a nice senior season with Minnesota. But yeah,
I mean I would just think.

Speaker 8 (37:50):
Oh, he had a really good year in New Hampshire
in the transfer portal, so he so, but I don't
know if that translates that he would be ready to
step up into the uh.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Well, the other the other aspect of this is you've
uh regurgitated this line many times before from Koc. It's
not the quarterback, what is it? And it's not the
quarterback that lets down the the organization. It's the organization
that lets down the quarterback. What's that? What's that phrase
that Koc said that you used to quote all the time,

(38:26):
basically like a young quarterback fall failing as well? Oh yeah,
just as much on the organization.

Speaker 8 (38:32):
An organization fails a young quarterback more than a young
quarterback fails.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
So by going to Brozemer in week eleven of year two,
but actual year one of him playing, you'd have to
be pretty much dead set on. Hey, this, he's not
the guy, this one says.

Speaker 8 (38:49):
Anybody that thinks this team was actually a big game
contender has been drinking the purple kool aid far too long.
If they kept Darnald, it wouldn't have had money to
make improvements that they did this season. So even if
you had an you wouldn't be getting close to a
big game yet. Over it, move on and let JJ develop.
What if JJ doesn't develop? There are too many people

(39:10):
that are acting like it's a sure thing. He's going
to develop and you just got to give him time.
Might be a game, might be the rest of the season,
might be three seasons from Noladies, We.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Don't know that.

Speaker 8 (39:19):
And also that's that's wrong about the improvements we made,
the money we spent. We've gotten very few contributions from
the two that now. The one guy in the interior
the defensive line has played well the last few weeks.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Which one is that?

Speaker 1 (39:34):
Is that?

Speaker 8 (39:34):
The Javon, Yeah, he's played, he's played pretty well. He's
starting to the offensive. The center hasn't played at all
because of concussions. The guard, I guess it has been okay,
so he's been fine, but I don't know if he's
been you know, Pro Bowl esque. And the other defensive
guy hasn't really done that much, So that's flawed. It's

(39:58):
we didn't make any improvements in the interior year of
the offensive line or defense, like, not anything. I don't
think to a large degree, I don't think. And you
got to pay for your quarterback. Let's say McCarthy does
develop and in four years you're going to have to
give him a big dealer. Are you gonna let him
go by the wayside and start over again? It's just

(40:20):
And then one last thing I wanted to touch on
was speaking of Alec Lewis. He wrote for the He
writes for The Athletic. He wrote today can vikings QB
JJ McCarthy eventually turned it around a La Panther's QB
Bryce Young and I think you said it best as
we were talking about Bryce a little elier. Well, he
hasn't really turned it around. He had a really great

(40:41):
game last week, and he's had some okay games. It's
either six and five. But he hasn't turned into any
kind of Pro Bowl quarterbock.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
I mean, I don't know. It's as someone says, the
prize has been good.

Speaker 9 (40:58):
Yeah, he's been good. But has he been good at
the amount of money they're paying him?

Speaker 8 (41:02):
I don't know.
