or training camp.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Well I was.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
I was actually contemplating spring as a as a hint,
but I don't think he would pick up on it.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
That's why I switched to something.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
No training.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Yeah no, I would never have fought training for spring
yeah wow?
Speaker 2 (01:23):
And would you have said camp?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:25):

Speaker 4 (02:57):
What holy like?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Holy roller?
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Roller?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Holy roller?
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Very common expression. It's not a great clue for me.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
It's a lyric.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I would have gone cow too, I always alert.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
From a John Lennon song called it Come Together.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I thought we'd say roller coaster derby blades.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Well, you said in this share you play the damn
game I have before?
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Okay, everybody, what's the score?
Speaker 2 (03:18):
I don't know why people are giving Dave a hard
time just for being a Packer fan. Nobody's perfect hey.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Hell, fifty four to ten Common and a little bee
with the lead level and common. Take a look at
the iPad please. The password is therapy. Did you get that?
Just because it's my computer screen fro so I want
to make sure you got it. Wobble down forty four points,
(03:50):
get back into the KFN dot COM's slash watch screen
watch so he doesn't see it. We're going first, all right,
Lavell and Sinny for ten rehab sorry common, and little
(04:11):
b for nine physical therapy.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I had it. I had it in physical. I didn't
have it a rehab.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Well, well, you sat there and thought about the word
for like five minutes. That's what you gave up.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
That's not a bad clue.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
It's not a bad clue.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
No, it's not great clue. Yeah, wouldn't get it first once,
she said once the second clues.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
Now, if you started first and you said physical, which
you said therapy, yes, no, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh okay, I think.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
The rehab got you.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
The therapy in the not in my mind right now.
That's I love that.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Well, then you should have realized it was a two
word clue, and you should have come and go first,
and then you get the nineties. Yes, there's the strategy
behind it.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I thought that he was playing fast today at this point.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
At this point, I just want to cover the spread.
That's all I'm shooting for.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
It, because no, here's one for you. I bet Muss
is feeling really good, right, Muscus hideous at the game
setting he can't play.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
We should, you know, we've always down the program past invitation.
We're trying to find the best program pass. We should
come up with a worse like the the eight worst
teams together, the losers advance it.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
It wasn't the last time I played one of the
worst games ever. Like both teams are just diabolically bad.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, that's happened. I was one half of a team
that got zero points worse.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
I'm always amazing when like writers come in here and
aren't good at program pass, you think, like English language
of the words is.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
What's wrong with you? Beyond these? I use the word sale.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Well maybe a discount, ye, sale discount?
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, unfortunately not with the ownership you think it to you?
Sale Wow? Uh, seventeen points away are common and a
little be from victory. It's sixty three to ten.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Make our move?
Speaker 5 (06:04):
Now?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Was this our time Cinny and the Bears have been
doing it. Last second, Cinny and little be take a
look at the iPad.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Please.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
The password is peppermint. All right, Cinny, down fifty three points.
The option is yours. It could please be more professional.
Would you like to go first or second?
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Do we need a chuckle in your voice as you've
never really such a first show man?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
You're down fifty three? Uh, Cinny, I need you to
move back closer to LaBelle, to.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
My guy, closer to Lavelly. This is just I'm in
hell right now.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Cinny. It's the options on you. You want to go
first or second?
Speaker 4 (06:46):
I guess I'll go first, all right, Damie feeling good
about my chances here?
Speaker 1 (06:52):
All right, Davey and Leabelle for ten Patty Wagon, we'll
be in common for nine Candy.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
Peppermint. I never would have gotten that.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
No, I never I should have gone second.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Maybe have to go a second.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
I just I'm gonna head off to miss Lilt, the
all time password champion.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
I can't give her first run. But that was that
was a word where I probably should have gone second.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
All right, here's a rat common will be You're eight
points away from a victory. You have seventy two points,
so any correct answer that it is eight or more,
you are victorious level and sending you guys are just
seventy points away.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Do we need to stretch a little bit here? So
we have the stretch.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
I already have it planned, already have a question for Leavell.
After this stands soffect perfect.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Well, I was going to start asking you guys about
your childhoods.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Do you have a cow checking laid down level and
Levell in common take a look at the iPad please?
The password is dot slipped that over there, Leavel.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
I don't even think if I looked it would help
me at this point.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
All right, Levell, you're down sixty two points.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
What's the biggest can get on the screen so we
can see.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Lavell. There you go. There's been a shutout. You said, yeah, okay, yeah,
this might be the second WORSD score. This might be
the second Leavell. Do you want to go first or second?
Options on you? We'll go first, Lavell and Cinny for tes.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
We don't learn from our past mistakes.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Polka dot, I didn't know what to say. Well, and
typically you were asking Milwaukee by Polka. I'm going to
get up and dance. So I got died. That was
a good clue.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
All right, it's not over yet, little momentum for Cinny
and Lavell. It's seventy two to twenty Sinny and little
be take a look at the iPad. The password is tackle.
All right, cin you let's try to get two in
(09:03):
a row here. You're down fifty two. You got the option.
What do you want to do here? First or second?
I will go first, Sinny and Lavelle for ten. This
is a mistake five seconds, Ti Packer, Lit'll be in
(09:34):
common for nine and the win. Defensive tackle.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I just try to call up a tackle.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
I couldn't pick him a bear's tackle off the top
of my head. And if I said Darisaw, you would
have said Christian, So I couldn't go Darisal.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
You just had a lot of mistackles in that game
we did.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
That is a bum.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Lavelle.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
You were just you got a pack of reference and
I think my work here is Lavelle.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
You were you were watching some curling in this story
on the Peterson Gals, right.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
Yeah, they were in the story. I was at the
US Curling Trials last week, and do.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
You like curling or was it just an assignment? You
said I'll do that one.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Why not that at least to a long answer common clearly.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
News by the way, by the way, real quickly. Sale
was actually a word. A couple of years ago, Meets's
first clue was christ the worst clue ever.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
It was really bad. Yes, it was that the fairy. Yeah,
that's him and sorry.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
I met John Schuster, the face of the US curling,
at the Loon Cafe in twenty fourteen, two weeks before
they were headed to the Olympics that year. I believe
it was Assulcie Games, and so I know crap about curling,
and we sat there. There's some curling on for somehow
some ways. So we were going over curling and stuff,
and I was talking to him and Tyler George, you know,
I was like, okay, nice guys.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
You know, I'd like to throw back a few great No.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Four years later, twenty eighteen, I run under John Schuster
again at a bar in lily Dale called the Moose Country,
which is close.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
It was all there right now. I used to have
the birthday Tuesday. Oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
It was a week before their ahead the Peongyang to
go to the Olympics there and once again we talked
a little bit more so I kind of was starting
to watch and I was at spring training during the
twenty eighteen Games when he when he got that five,
make that incredible shot against Sweden to get five, I
guess it's not called points, call it a quad to
beat the Sweden and the gold medal game. So I
(11:31):
kind of knew the basics and stuff. And then I
went to the Olympics in twenty twenty two and covered
curling for the first time.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
I saw.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
The thing about curling is that everybody knows each other.
Everybody's like cool with each other. Just the big week
there was a rematch of twenty twenty two between Spain
and USA and the players are like cracking jokes and
shucking a giving between shots, which you can't see you
if you're watching on television, but if you're looking at
the rink and you look at the ice, I'm sorry
to sheet, and they're all just having a good time
with each other. It's like, don't you know, go medals
(12:01):
on the line here? You know, That's what I'm saying,
But that's that's the curling community. So it was funny
that all three teams, the Peerston team, the Shuster I'm
sorry this piece rink, the Shoster rink and Danny Casper
all had went to Airbnb route and Sioux Falls and
Casper's was next to the Shusters.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
They were I read it they were hanging out with each.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Other at night and cast Casper ended up winning, knocking
Shuster office pedals. So it inded an incredible run of
going to five and second the Olympics. Now Casper has
to go to the Olympic qualification event in British Columbia
next month. Top two get there, yeah, yeah, Now Peters have.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
To go there too.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Historically the United States use he qualifies by now because
he's based on points you gain playing at the World Championships.
But Shuster's team, I think there were a couple of
injuries so they couldn't compete or something, and both went
not because of crazy and both the Peterson sisters, Tabitha
and Tarj had babies during this last cycle, so you know,
(12:59):
a team had another points of qualifile automadically, so they
have to come in and do it this way. So
we're not covering the Olympics this year. We're not going.
We're not going to Italy. It's just too expensive. And
it's too bad because in twenty twenty two we had
thirty minutes Sultans on the on the Winter Olympics team,
and there was a reason to get up every morning
(13:19):
to write the story. And I understand how much this
stuff means to min the Sultans. So I really wanted
to go to Italy, but just couldn't work. I mean,
I wish our paper was there, didn't have to be
making somebody, but this is like the one of the
last main events before the Olympics, so I.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Felt it was important to go on.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Right, Well done, you did nice work.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Appreciation, yes very much?
Speaker 1 (13:38):
So uh you're was.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
That a filler? Who do you want?
Speaker 6 (13:41):
Who?
Speaker 2 (13:41):
The Bears?
Speaker 4 (13:41):
I forget who we're homing Its Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Oh it should be a game. I I'll pick the Bears.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
It's gonna be a tough on. Pittsburgh's defense is no joke.
Rogers questionable that I see. We have never heard yet
broken left for He'll pluck the.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Int he owns a team.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
He should play the play the dark game.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
I think.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
But you know, with a fractured wrist, you know he's
got to be able to if he lands on it,
he gets in or something, then you're really doing some
major damage.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
So the new course host the Purple and the Kiddies
host Commanders. I think wet No giants. Giants, right, Jameis
Winston coming to your house. We could lose this game.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
No, you guys don't lose after losing a game. No,
they got no running game. Now Thursday is another story.
Now the cancel line is good if you go forward,
me too, Me too. Thanksgiving, the Bears almost beat your team.
I Thanksgiving last year. That was a year ago. That
was that. That was one of those hebra Flus mismanaged games.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Yes, I thought I I don't think it was as bad.
I think everybody wanted a scapegoat, so they picked April.
So it wasn't that bad for my recollection.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Actually, a Black Friday game is Bears at Eagles.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I love that.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
I'll be driving home from Milwaukee listening to that seven
and five. I'm hoping that we're eight and four. Yeah,
I get that, and then.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
We'll need two more wins our last six five games,
which would be Packers, Browns, Packers forty nine Ersons.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
That thanks run, Thanks for coming in guys, thanks for
having us wish couple right.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
We did again.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
We were not blanked.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
No, it'll be as always. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Thanks guys.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
We'll take a break. We'll come back to our Star
memorial hours next her on the fan. Jack passed away
a few weeks ago and has left to hold in
many people's hearts. His friendly and warm personality made him
a friend to all who knew him. He touched the
lives of countless kids the last few years as a
school resource officer in Farmington, and mentored many more with
(15:47):
his volunteer coaching with the Hastings Little Raiders Football. B
was a kind of guy who was always there to
help anyone in need, as he cared the well being
of others more than his own. He's probably strolling through
a prairie and the great beyond, searching for pheasants and
watching over his lovely wife and children. Pete was deeply
loved him, will be dearly missed. That's from Darren and
that's our Dark Star memorial. Before this a Friday, Dark
(16:09):
used to share the two o'clock hour with us for
a number of years before he passed away. In is
it twenty twelve? Was it that long ago.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
It's hard to remember.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
That sounds right, but that could be right. It maybe been.
It may not have been that long ago, but it
seems like it was twenty twelve. But then again, I
hope I didn't push it into his grave too well,
he went too soon, I mean dark I think was
only sixty six years old when he passed away.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Yeah, twenty twelve. He died of me sixty six. Received
this email.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
On Wednesday at twelve forty two in the afternoon. New
Minnesota pol Brian sent this to me. Says the Minnesota
pol Us state residents to name the five worst conversation
topics they find themselves trapped in. Results are in the
sending order of revulsion. Number five people revisiting the various
(17:13):
maladies and or surgeries they've had. I'm a big fan
of that either. Number four people explaining what each of
their tattoos signify. Right, you have people and this one,
okay great. Number three people going into detail about their
weird dreams.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah. Number two people going on about why they hate
cold slash hot weather, enlisting specific examples. Right. And then
finally common man recounting the day's golf out. Well, you
find that funny to you. It's Minnesota fo brilliant common
man recounting? Is is golf outing? You know what would
(17:54):
say to that, TIMV?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Well, this is that your Wild club. They're back in
action tonight, Is that correct? I think a lot of
the teams are in action tonight.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Right. Don't the Wild get Pittsburgh?
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (18:08):
The Wolves are playing? Aren't they playing? Are they playing
the Suns for one of the uh what do they
call that NBA Cup thing?
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:15):
And the Suns are are they? Are they?
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Are they terrible? I'm not paying a social attention in
the NBA as one. I know. Durangela does not play
for them anymore.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Does he?
Speaker 1 (18:25):
No, he moved on to Houston.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I'm yeah, that's right, Houston, that's correct.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
And then I think the Frost start their season tonight. Yes,
so they host Toronto at Green Casino Arena. Wild's in Pittsburgh, Okay,
and then Wolves Suns I believe, Well.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Can you tell me about Pittsburgh?
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Wolves are at Yeah, Phoenix, it's the group group stage
of the NBA Cup that's at eight o'clock starts tonight.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Do we have a record for your Phoenix Suns?
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Nine?
Speaker 1 (18:54):
And six, one game behind us.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Maybe it'll be a comp out of a basketball game. Maybe, Well,
teams actually try to try to win the game, especially
since it's a Group B Cup or C Cup or
D Cup, whatever it is.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
But you ask me about Pittsburgh, they've been kind of
interesting this year because they've gone a couple of years
in a row now where they've been trying to hang
on to the Sidney Crosby, Evgeny Mulkin, Chris letang Era,
right the group that won them multiple Stanley Cups. But
that was a long time ago, and they've just been
(19:30):
kind of not wanting to start the rebuild too early
because they want to pull They just want to string
this thing out as long as they can with Sidney Crosby,
and I understand that. So they haven't been like a
good team for a couple of years. They haven't been
making the playoffs, and I think people are kind of like, well,
it's time to move on with the rebuild, and here
they are. They've stuck with them and for a while
(19:52):
they were kind of towards the top of the Eastern Conference.
Right now they're in a current wild card spot, so
they still could drop, but they've gotten off to a
pretty good start to he isn't including a victory over
the Wild earlier in the year.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
However, we're on a roll.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Different Wild team, are we?
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Seven one and one? Is that what we are in
the month of November? Yeah, the month of November seven
one and one. By the way, Duce said, Deuce must
have been listening. Remember when I said there was there
was somebody on the fan that said somebody was rolling
over in their grave that wasn't dead. Deuce knows it
was Parker Fox. He said, Jack Nicholas is rolling over.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Now. Jack's closer to the end of the end of
the end than he is to the beginning middle of
the end. But still Scott is.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Great a little bit of respect.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
We'll take a break. We'll come back. One more segment
to go here on the common Man Program. We call
it the Victory Formation segment. That's next year's.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Camp and the Vikings are teaming up for toys for tots.
Join us live a Shields and Needing Prairie on Tuesday,
December set in from five thirty am to six thirty
pm for our annual broadcast presented by Unreal Bring a
toy spread some joy and if you're one of the
first fifty donors each show, you'll score a sweet kfean
unreal winter beanie. Details at KFE dot com slash toys.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
A couple thirteen fourteen past, I'm common.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
He is ten to b uh victory formations and is
what we'd like to call it. I was looking at
a CBS sports piece. They do this for every NFL
game on Fridays, Packers versus Vikings. Where to watch Sunday's matchup,
plus pick odds and pressure on JJ, McCarthy says. Despite
(21:51):
almost leading another fourth quarter comeback against Chicago, McCarthy struggled
with accuracy in Week eleven, that's putting it mildly. He
completed sixty thirty two for a buck fifty one tuddy
two ince and became the first quarterbacks in Zach Wilson
to throw an interception at five straight games to begin
his NFL career.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Who is That's not good company to be?
Speaker 2 (22:13):
You know, Zach was I didn't even recognize the name.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
If you recall, he was the number two overall pick
by the New York Jets within the last seven eight years.
If you remember, Trey Lance was picked right behind him,
I believe, so that was not not a great stretch.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
So for those that want to introduce the names, well,
look at how bad Josh Allen and Peyton Mannu were
in their first games. I present to you Zach Wilson.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Zach Wilson's not the company you want to be in.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
No. As for the Packers, they snapped the two game
losing streak beating the Giants, but it wasn't pretty. Both
Love and Josh Jacobs left the game early, but Love
was the only one to return. And did did we
say Jacobs is going to PLA Do we not know? Ah?
Speaker 1 (23:01):
He's been kind of questionable all week, but I thought
I haven't heard today, but yesterday it seemed like it
was trending in the right direction. I would expect him
to play.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Vikings versus Packers need to know recent home struggles for
the pack After winning the first three home matchups, the
Packers have dropped their last two, lost to Carolina and
the Eagles. Big question is Christian Watson ready to take off?
Says Watson had one of his best performances of the
season versus the Giants, Sunny, catching four or five targets
(23:34):
for forty six yards. And two tuddies. There will be
opportunities for Watson to stretch the field for the Green
Bay offense against this aggressive Brian Flores defense. That is,
if if the Packers' offensive line can keep Jordan upright.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
That's the thing.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Yeah, there probably will be some time.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
And I think Grenard for us is I haven't seen
him in official vikings injury part. I would assume that
should be out very shortly.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Why don't you look for that?
Speaker 4 (23:59):
While I read?
Speaker 2 (24:00):
The next paragraph says justin Jefferson's suffering from vikings QB play.
Jett is having what is statistically the worst season. It
was already incredible NFL career.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Gnard is questionable, so is Ryan Kelly, as.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
He's caught fifty six passes for seven hundred and forty
seven yards and two tutties and ten games played. His
five point six receptions per game ranks lowest since his
rookie season, and his seventy four point seven receiving yards
per game mark a career low. He's recorded fewer than
eighty yards receiving in five straight games. As long as
it's such streak of his career, so yes, the quarterback plays.
(24:40):
It's there's a chain reaction, obviously, and then it says
Viking slim playoff chances. The Vikings are the only team
in the NFC North below five hundred have lost four
of their last five. Minnesota's listed as a plus twelve
hundred to make the playoffs at the Fandom Sports Book,
and then it says Kings versus Packers prediction pick. Here's
(25:02):
what it says. McCarthy had fans booming with his performance
last week, but the Packers have lost back to back
home games against Minnesota and haven't looked very good recently.
I'll take the Packers to win this game, but I'm
wondering if six and a half is too much. Green
Bay has won in seven against the spread in the
last eight games. I McCarthy as two and oh straight
up and against the spread in his career on the road.
(25:25):
I'm calling a back door cover whatever that means.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
He's picking the Vikings plus six and a half the
overs forty one point five for those who like to gamble.
See and when it comes to odds like that, oftentimes
I will agree. I think the Packers will win, but
I don't think it'll be a blowout. See what I'm saying, so,
you know, and I don't you know, to me, it
doesn't matter what the point spread is. I just think
for me, a close game is one score, you know,
(25:52):
when a two and I think this looks one score
game like to me could be a garbage tuddy late
or something or pick six was the other way and
gives him a two STOs. But I expected to go
to the fourth quarter close because a lot of it
has to do with the Bikings defends is pretty good,
you know. So, But you know I said this earlier.
(26:15):
I just haven't seen enough of McCarthy, right, I mean
I've seen five well none of us have. But I
mean what I mean by that is he's played five games,
but he's he's had the great it's well documented, great
fourth quarter against the Bears, and in the first game
of the season, he was awful against the Falcons, sprained
his ankle out five games since coming back pretty good
against Detroit. Did some nice things there, probably his best
(26:40):
overall performance, but that isn't saying much either, right, And
then he last week was just it was dreadful.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Can give you some nine and noon like optimism, Yes,
I'd love to have it at home this year. He's
been J J. McCarthy on the road.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
He's been nice.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
He's been nine.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
There's two games on the road at Chicago at Detroit.
Those are the only two road games he's played. Yeah,
it's been awful. Maybe you can't handle the pressure of
the home crowd. I don't know. But nine comes out
on the road and they're gonna need nine because this
is if you are still thinking potentially getting the playoffs.
This is must win territory. You can't lose this game
(27:15):
a team you're chasing the NFC. You lose this one,
it's over. Yeah, you're looking ahead to next season if
you lose this one.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Common How did the placement of the car keys go
last night? You're not gonna believe this. You did not well,
I did have to search for him.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
I can't remember. I told you. When I'm coming in,
I got a lot of stuff in my hands, and
I'm thinking about a lot of different things. I mean,
I've been pulled over by the highway, patual, I was,
I had, I had lots going on. I was, you know,
I had, And I didn't remember dropping him into my backpack.
(28:02):
So again I went to go it was gonna lock
the car. This's gonna lock it right away. And I
couldn't find my keys. So I went out back out
to the car because I had what the beautiful thing
about technology? If you close your car door and your
keys are in there, the horble honk saying your keys
are still in the car, idiot you know. See it's
it's like idiot mittens.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
You know.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
The ones had the string once from one to the next.
So I had to tear my backpack apart to find him.
And they were in there though, But at first I thought,
I wonder where they are. I'll never learn. All right,
let's go ahead and do it. Hold on, okay, Warren,
(28:44):
what you got I heard you were at I heard
you at the Friday football feast.
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Today, that's right. And we had really good conversations. We
got this McCarthy thing figured out.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
What you do.
Speaker 7 (28:55):
And it's very obvious why he's not gonna throw him pass.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Oh.
Speaker 7 (29:00):
No, picture a waiter that our waitress that has a
tray in their hand and their hands are sideways as
they're carrying it. Most of a lot of the time,
especially when he's not completing passes, his hand sideways kind
of like a sidearm thrower, because you could see it
playing playing his day, comping off the top that The
problem with it is you can't extend your arm like
(29:22):
that because your wrist is twisted correct and if you
try to do that, you'll rip your you know, you'll
tear something on your shoulder. So what's happening with him
is when he's got his arm sideways like that. Now,
doesn't that explain why a ball would sail? It could
underthrow it and all this and that. Yeah, And the
(29:43):
thing that I think is happening is I think he's
got a fly. I think when you guy was growing up,
he maybe start throwing a little bit.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
That way, I think.
Speaker 7 (29:50):
And the the reason they're not picking this up is
you got to pick it up during game conditions. I
think what's happening is he's actually possibly throwing right, but
maybe his arms extended in practice when there's no pressure
on You can't extend your arm when you're throwing that way.
Your legs are not gonna be in the same position.
So you're gonna you're gonna throw it. You can see
it plain this day, I'll give everybody some homework and
(30:12):
to that right, draining away. Everybody agreed that this could
be the problem that he has. When you see the
camera front on him, if you can see the palm
of his hand when he releases the ball, that means
his hands open up sideways. If he had, if he
had gripped like a normal person would cuff in their hands,
you'd be able to see the side of his hand.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Let me give you another Yeah, well, let me give
you another another example. If you watch tennebe when he
hits his drive, you'll see that his club face is open.
And then with an open club face, the ball has
to slice to the right. So I think, right, I
think what McCarthy as is tennebe itis. I think they
both have the same problem.
Speaker 7 (30:54):
Here's the other thing. Here's the other thing people are
talking about. The the golfer quarterback that's on the team
right now. Here's what tells you he's ready. Here's what
tells you he's ready for the NFL. And JJ isn't.
He played in two systems. He played a lot more
games than JJ. He's MA sure every system he's been
(31:16):
in he he excelled extremely well. One thing he would
guarantee you will not hear from him is his footwork,
placement and that, and he's I'll tell you I've seen
enough of display. He's very similar to a brock pretty
when he plays, he plays well. He's very well, he's
very and he's very smart. And here's the thing that
(31:37):
I noticed right away. Who's the first guy that JJ
comes over to talk to when he's had a bad
group of downs. He doesn't talk to the coaches. He's
talking to He's talking to him standing. Yeah, he's talked
to on the sideline. But take take a look at
the hand play. It's obvious and you can't. I've noticed
it during it and a lot of people said seem
(31:59):
the same thing, but they didn't think much of it.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
That's exactly right. Warren, thanks so much. And Warren has
figured out the mechanical problems with JJ. McCarthy. Well, there
was a story. Was it today or yesterday? Or McCarthy said,
the way O'Connell and the Vikings are teaching him quarterback
is very new and very different. Those are quotes, very new,
very different, and the way he had been taught previously.
(32:22):
Though he did say that wasn't unexpected and making a
jump to the NFL, he says, it's really hard. You're
rewiring neurological pathways, and that's not something that happens overnight.
Rewiring neurological pathways. Munch Like, when Tennebee started producing the show,
he had to he had to rewire neurological pathways.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Of those outgoing, upbeat, positive, energetic.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
A ducky and bunny kind of guy. And then you
became sullen, with drawn, bitter, dark, brooding, all.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Of those things.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Yes, kind of sad.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Actually the way it's it's it's worked out for here. Well,
here's what I don't understand though, how many different ways
are there to teach quarterback? I mean, I thought he
went to the IMG Academy, right, And isn't the IMG
for every sport Tennis, golf, football, they do? And it's
basically replaced his school. You still do your school work.
(33:20):
I don't think he spent as much time in class,
but it's like is it in Florida somewhere? And then
you spend half your day in the classroom and half
your day working on your chosen sport. I think a
lot of it has to do is Look, this was
suggested by a lot of people, accepted by some, dismissed
(33:41):
by others. Playing quarterback at Michigan is different than playing
quarterback at a lot of different places. When Harbaugh was
the coach, he runs the football. He has big, strong
offensive line, and they run the ball. They're apart running game,
and their defense is really good. And whether it's because
(34:03):
he's a great recruiter, a great coach, or they got
a lot of nil money and a lot of booster
banking money, I don't it's probably a combination of all those.
But it was said that McCarthy didn't throw the ball often.
He was accurate. I mean, he had a seventy he
was a seventy two percent completion percentage. I don't know
(34:24):
if that was his entire career, but it was any career.
Last year he was very accurate. But I think I
think a lot and this is just guess because I'm
not paying his close attention to Michigan footballs at once
that I'm just going by talking to people and reading things.
Is that because they didn't throw the ball a lot
and a lot of times when they were throwing, it
catches the the the defense off guard because they're expecting
(34:46):
they're they're so beaten down by the run trying to
stop in a powerful Michigan running game that when the
passing does come, it's advantageous to McCarthy. I don't hold
that against him or anything and say, you know, that's
that's great for Michigan. They want to defeated. Won a
national championship that year. But maybe he didn't quarterback in
the situations of our you know, a passing offense where
(35:09):
you pass all the time and the mechanical stuff does
And maybe that's all it is, and he'll figure it out.
And he has all the other intangibles. He has the
alter ego, he has the uh you know, apparently he
has all the leadership qualities. They say, they're saying all
the right things out of Winter Park and that he
has the desire and the work ethic and all of
those things. And he is. He's athletic obviously, and he
(35:31):
can run a little bit. So if it was all
just mechanics, I'm I hope that's all it is, and
that he's able to figure it out.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
You know, you ain't going to figure out in a
week though, Well, no you're not. And you can't go
into the game focused on your mechanics. No, that's that's
just got to come naturally to you. You have to
have so many repetitions that you're not thinking about. If
you know ENGLF, you're thinking all your mechanics are done.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
You are done.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
See flag, fire at flag.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah, it's it's like for me, it's like, you know,
at some point in the swing you have to cock
your wrists, and for the longest time I just couldn't
get myself to do. Then I'm thinking about it like, Okay,
I gotta do it. Well, no, you just have to
let it happen. Actually, the last few weeks and to
me and I I can't help that I've gone over
my game so often. But Wheeler topic has landed on
(36:19):
Commons golf game. The last few weeks, I've played some
really good golf, hitting the ball really solid, and it's
because I'm not thinking about it. I'm just pulling it
back and letting it go. And doesn't mean every shot
is perfect, doesn't even mean every shot is good, but
most of the time they're fairly acceptable. And then if
you can put like I do, which is better than
(36:41):
seventy five eighty percent of the players on the PGA Tour,
you can score right. So I hope it works. I
know Viking fans want it bad, and I know there
is that segment of Viking fans who want to believe
it's so bad that they get angry with anybody like
(37:02):
you and me that might just go homeboy, little Wells
have five games? What about Peyton? Manny says, just calmed down.
We're just We're just We're just you and I have
not said he can't play in this league, that he
won't develop into a fine quarterback. What we're saying is
I thought he was further along, and I think the
team thought he was further along. Yeah, because they decided
(37:23):
to pass on Darnold and pass on Danny Dimes and
Rogers because they and and you can't tell me they
thought they were rebuilding. You don't come off a thirteen
and four season rebuilding. They lost four games last year,
twice to Detroit and twice to the Rams. That's it.
And you don't rebuild the interior of your two lines.
(37:48):
I mean you could say, yeah, I used to want to,
you know, in order to allow this kid to learn
how to play quarterback and be successful, he's going to
have to have a good interior of the offensive line. Well, yeah,
but every quarterback needs the best quarterbacks in pro football.
If they don't have a if they don't have a
good offensive line, they're gonna get killed. You saw what
happened to Golf you on Sunday night. Their offensive line
(38:11):
is beaten and battered, and Philadelphia has got a great
front for And if you don't give a guy a
time to throw, I don't care who you are. Gof's
been putting up wonderful numbers at that point. He's got
a lot of pressure. And that's all these quarterbacks. If
you're pressuring a guy, you got no chance.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
And so.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
I think they overestimated how far along McCarthy was, and
I think maybe even the coach overestimated his ability quarterback
to be quarterback whisper and coach him up that quickly.
I think that's what's at play here, and no one
will ever admit it, and I could be wrong, but
that's that's the way the esoteric approach sees. It doesn't
(38:51):
mean it can't get better, and it probably will, partly
because it can't get worse, I don't think. But like
you say, it's probably not going to happen Sunday. I
guess it could all of a sudden, he could be
just brilliant, and but.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
I think the dartled one looks especially bad now, not
only because of his performance but the money he's making.
While it's obviously more than what JJ McCarthy's making, that's
still a really good. It is value for starting quarterbacks
in the National Football League when those guys are making
fifty five sixty million now and he's getting thirty three.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Yeah, yeah, that's exactly what it is. And as someone mentioned,
they also passed on bow Nicks, and I don't know
if Nix was right. I don't remember where these guys were, right,
I don't remember. I do know that Caleb Williams was
considered the best of it. Then it was May right.
Those are kind of considered one two, and some people
maybe thought may it was better, but that was it.
Jane Daniels yeah, and Jane Dean those are the top three,
and after that it was maybe a crapshoot. Boy, how
(39:43):
time flies when you're having fun. I'd like to get
into more and more curling talk. Maybe we'll do that
next week. Tennyby, thanks thanks for having me. Hey, great
job you as well. We enjoyed a visit with you today,
But stick around big ticket. Brett Blake wore their next
right here on the Phantom. A great weekend.
Speaker 6 (40:03):
Okay, calm down, good night, good night, and good night missus.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Calamat you?
Speaker 4 (40:21):
Where have you wait?
Speaker 2 (40:24):
Don young Man?
