Speaker 1 (00:02):
Bad common man, common man, no show, no solid plan,
so arn't we can't be a secarit approach will fail
to in. It's time for common man. Man, common man,
charge the house?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Ones like going, can what shoot? Where we play?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Now?
Speaker 4 (00:25):
It's a nonsense.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
I'm back to day today.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
It's time for common man.
Speaker 6 (00:33):
Why should anybody aspire to be a common man? An
average man? Do you realize what it means to be average?
That means you're the best of the lousiest and the
lousiest of the best. Now, if we demand more and
more for producing less and less while they have not,
nations encourage and inspire, and indeed require hard work and
maximum effort. If we deify the common man while they
(00:57):
encourage and reward the uncommon ones.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
On the end result of such.
Speaker 6 (01:01):
A lopsided race, as that is too obvious to require elaborations, I.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Mean, it's like.
Speaker 7 (01:13):
We'll add to a buffalow on the road. I think
the weather, of course, having to spend a lot of
time in Minnesota, I understand the weather pattern.
Speaker 8 (01:24):
Pick up the Calcutta.
Speaker 7 (01:25):
Clipper, swings down, swings up, lake front, influence and out.
I think we'll probably have about forty five degree weather,
so it will not be a typical October thirty first
in Buffalo.
Speaker 9 (01:42):
You know, sometimes when you practice, will set up chair.
Speaker 10 (01:45):
There's your right through chairs to share zone up if
I can do press looks like this chair.
Speaker 9 (01:59):
Bubble.
Speaker 8 (02:01):
Well, I read the USA today and I read the
New York Times, and I read those both every day.
And I listened to music.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I don't.
Speaker 8 (02:06):
I wouldn't really, I mean, it wouldn't do me any
good to listen to talk shows because what's great about America.
Everybody has an opinion, you know what I mean. But
what's also great about America you don't have.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
To listen to them.
Speaker 8 (02:15):
And that's that's a great prime.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Candy Charger, Sandy, Yeah, charger, dya the charger, Candy.
Speaker 11 (02:38):
Algy braking, all all, Allogy, algy b.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
This is not Detroit man, this is the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
They're breaking up.
Speaker 12 (03:01):
Bob.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
You don't know nothing.
Speaker 13 (03:14):
He's the clown from Brown, He's the fourth in the North.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
This is the common Man.
Speaker 14 (03:23):
Dan Cole figured it out. We have two deuce do
case on common Man, page two, and the one that
I accidentally dragged over is the wah wah wah because
I don't have that anything are on, But I have
three deuce do case on this? Why?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (03:44):
That?
Speaker 14 (03:45):
I would say, there's three of them on here, two
in column.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
You know, let's see there all.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
The jag jag all the same there there.
Speaker 14 (04:00):
It's not like he did different versions of them. Could
you do it in a little bit more emotion? Could
you do one a little bit more comical?
Speaker 2 (04:08):
They're all the same and that's what they are.
Speaker 14 (04:12):
Hey, greeting's good after doing an ac acadac and acacacu
and yours on Comedy's ten andep blah blah blah, a
truncated version Coaches Show, Uh, the head coach of the
soon to be Big Game World champion Minnesota Viking's supposed
to have is weekly.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
This really isn't this?
Speaker 14 (04:27):
This is sort of a combination of his day after
the game news conference two days after the game and
his middle of the week news conference a day before
the middle of the week. Though it really kind of
is the middle of the week. Is the game's on
a Thursday. I hope that makes sense to you. See
on a normal week when they have a Sunday game,
he would have spoke yesterday and then tomorrow and now
because they're playing Toys Day. It's a truncated week for
(04:49):
the team as well as it's a truncated a show
for Common and tend.
Speaker 9 (04:53):
To be today.
Speaker 14 (04:54):
So he's expected today at at one point fifteen. We're
going to take our break we normally do. If we
come back and he's an there, that's just the way.
We're not going to tap dance and worry about it,
because really, at this stage of the season, Tenneby, would
you agree with this? This is my this is what
I think.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
I'm going to make.
Speaker 14 (05:09):
A a what I what I feel is is at
the crux of what of what fans want to know?
The only thing they really want to know is JJ
starting this week or not after that?
Speaker 6 (05:24):
What else?
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Is there? Nothing else?
Speaker 14 (05:26):
Nothing else, nothing of important? Terrible team, terrible city. Yeah,
so just is he playing or is he now? We'll
find out hopefully we'll find that out at one and
if he says it on air, are great. And if
we just relay the message to you, we'll do that
as well. I did see where Kevin Seffert and I'm
sure you saw this as well, Tendaby. He tweeted this,
(05:46):
No Vikings players are named to the Pro Bowl today.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
You've got to be kidding me.
Speaker 14 (05:51):
Not a shock give an injury slash record, but still
an exclamation point for a team that spent nearly three
hundred fifty million dollars assembly in its roster. Well, that's
a little negative seaver with a wet blanket Wednesday on
a what did we call?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
What did that guy called Monday?
Speaker 9 (06:10):
Again?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yesterday?
Speaker 14 (06:11):
Mood killer Monday. What can we have for Tuesday? We
got a wet blanket Wednesday and mood killer Monday. Someone
will come up with it for is either a senior
staff writer, junior staff writer or a contributor. Third time
in club history without a Pro Bowl player named the
initial roster, most recent twenty fourteen.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
The other time was nineteen eighty three.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
That wasn't a good year.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
That was not a good year.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
No, you don't want to be the same category as
the nineteen eighty three Bikings.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
No, that's for sure.
Speaker 14 (06:43):
So and you know, again, Pro bowlers just not a
roster make, but they sure are nice and Seafert is
I think spot on. You know, there there were a
number of injuries and the record's not very good. And
if you look at any player Tendamy, I don't look
at a player that I go, I think he kind
of got the shaft. Now, I think he should have
been on that team. I says that outrage, How does
(07:05):
he not make the team? Because you'll oftentimes have that
happen where you look at a guy on your team
and you go, how didn't he make it? He certainly
deserves some consideration. But there's nobody I can think of,
unless you can that really had a standout year wa.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Even before the year when we were even talking about
who are the superstars on the team, right, Justin Jefferson
on offense.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, and then there's.
Speaker 14 (07:26):
Justin Jefferson on all after that, Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
That's about it.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Jets, he did it too.
Speaker 14 (07:34):
He's he did like you know, and I know I
do that. I refer to myself in the third person,
and you know, people think it's because I have an
out of control ego, which I do. The only thing
bigger than my egos my prostate. But I just do
it because herschel Walker did. I just think it's funny
when people talking third person, well, common things this and
common things that.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
I just love it.
Speaker 14 (07:52):
It's the height of ego, right, But Jets kind of
did what he said that was more jets like there
he was kind of doing third person talk. I saw
a quote Jets is back sort of like nine. Do
you still think nine plus eighteen equals six?
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Or is that not? Really?
Speaker 14 (08:14):
You know what, you'll get an f and math if.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
You come up with that answer.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
We have thrown two touchdown fast as ad JJ this yere.
Speaker 14 (08:21):
Yeah, that shirt Tom had a short shelf life?
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Well it did?
Speaker 14 (08:24):
It flew off the shelves at the fair. And how
people are going, Well, the quality isn't that. I could
probably just wash my car with this thing?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Now?
Speaker 14 (08:33):
How many of those nine plus eighteen equal sixty shirts
are being worn? And how many are being used as
dust cloths?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
What do you think?
Speaker 14 (08:46):
I'm sorry, I can't help it. So, Yeah, that's what
we're gonna find out, is if you'll I'm getting all
sorts of ideas for Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Someone said the kicker makes the Pro Bowl?
Speaker 7 (09:02):
Did he.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Not yet? Oh? Someone says they think he will make
the Pro Bowl. I guess that's possible.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Yeah, he's got a good shot.
Speaker 14 (09:17):
Tear it down Tuesday. I kind of like, just tear
it down.
Speaker 12 (09:23):
Tumultuous Tuesdays that approach, Yes they have Yeah, well, regardless
of what day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, tumultuous Tuesday has got
a nice alliteration, but that's really not anything about, you know,
being negative, right, Tumultuous just means there's a lot of
tumult happened.
Speaker 14 (09:41):
So, like I said, I'm getting a lot of suggestions,
not all of them like tragic Tuesday, tearful Tuesday. Tell
it like it is Tuesday. Of course, when I tell
it like it is, it's not necessarily that's what it is.
Tell it to a straight Tuesday. There's one I can't
say on the radio. But yeah, there's a number of ideas.
(10:04):
We'll come up with one regardless. You know me, I'll
find a way to wet blanket and kill the mood
if I if I possibly. You know what I was
going to start with, Well, Vancouver's five and oh but
they're not. They lost lessness and it's why would they
trade one of the best defensemen in hockey for for
you know, three guys that are okay?
Speaker 2 (10:23):
And it goes to show you we got a great
general manager. I always love that.
Speaker 9 (10:28):
I liked.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
I liked I just like party.
Speaker 14 (10:31):
You got a little you right away, jump to Garren
in the Wilds defense and basically said, what are you
talking about?
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Common?
Speaker 14 (10:37):
It's a great trade and good for you. You know,
pushback is good.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
We don't always have to agree somehow, sound like when
the producers disagree.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
That's exactly what well.
Speaker 14 (10:49):
Some people will say too that I always disagree with you.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
I don't.
Speaker 14 (10:54):
It's like I said, your symptoms. I just like to debate.
I just like taking the other side of their way.
I told you one of my five different job descriptions
on THEI I used to be on the Vikings pregame show.
I had five different jobs. One of them was back
when Chadley worked here, Chad Hartman. I've told this story before.
We had the point counterpoint right where like, for instance,
(11:17):
we would do do you think the Vikings should move
on from J? J. McCarthy, and then Chad would take
one side of the argument. I would take the other,
and Chad will come to me. He'd come up with
an id every week and he goes, so what do
you think? I go, don't you just take one side?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
I'll take the other. I don't care.
Speaker 14 (11:32):
Enough and I can make it.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
I always love that one.
Speaker 14 (11:35):
You know, you can make a I hope, hopefully a
fairly cogent argument, especially when it comes to sports. It's
it's you know, you can pretty much make and I
could debate. I was reading a couple of stories this
morning on the college football landscape. In what the people
(11:58):
are wondering about? You know, we have two blowouts? Should
these there's power form? What's the other thing called something
or else?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Five?
Speaker 14 (12:07):
They have the the the the the the adlong, I
don't know what they call it. It's in a story
here and I can pull it up right here. I
don't want to dive too deep into this right now.
Group of five it's.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Called and what the.
Speaker 14 (12:25):
It's a CBS sports story by Will Beckus. He does,
he does, He does nice work, says, group of five
schools belong in the college football playoff, but a modern
Cinderella is unlikely. We saw two of those, two of
those group of five schools, James Madison and Tulane, and
(12:48):
they just got dropped. One of the score One of
the games looked better, the game against Oregon. The score
got close late. I think Oregon was just kind of
going through the motions at that point. But you know,
college football, if you read these two stories, there was
two stories I stumbled upon one would basically make you
think it's the end of the world as we know
it in college football, and I tend to think maybe
(13:09):
that's a little closer to the truth than not. This
one wasn't as bad. But you know, we're just talking
about how like, let's see, well it had an example,
who's the kid's name?
Speaker 2 (13:29):
See if I find his name here real quick, otherwise
I'll get back. Oh, here it is.
Speaker 14 (13:35):
Take North Texas quarterback Drew mesa Maker, for example, he
led the FBS with four thousand nine yards passing and
tied for second nationally with thirty one touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
If he did that at a Power four program, he
would have won the Heisman Trophy.
Speaker 14 (13:53):
He's expected to enter the transfer portal and leave North
Texas and go to.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
One of the powerful four schools.
Speaker 14 (13:59):
Right, so the transfer portal and nils if it is
just a minor leagues, there's only gonna be It's even
when you thought there were or just a handful of
helmet schools in the past. It's even getting worse now.
Except if you find the guy the they call him
angels in the boxing business, and I think they call
them that in a lot of different walks of life,
(14:21):
somebody with boatloads of money that he loves tenneb You.
You know you've got a university called tennebu tenneb me
tennab three tennebu.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
If you find somebody.
Speaker 14 (14:31):
That loves your university and don't, then you have a
chance to compete. Otherwise you're just doomed. So I can
make an argument either for us what I'm trying to say,
We'll take a break.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
We'll call it the way.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
We have a JJ McCarthy news on the other side
of the park.
Speaker 14 (14:45):
We'll do that next Common Man program on the fan.
Speaker 5 (14:59):

Speaker 14 (15:15):
Why didn't think the last segment was London broil. Maybe
it wasn't anything special, Well, okay, maybe London bro Maybe
it wasn't even Lendon Brushy. Can you please talk, please
talk about what made commons so frustrate? A last segment
A twisted cord lost an Emailly brinted listening audience deserves

(15:37):
spit the hook guy, wasn't that big? You think that
was bad? Just way do you get a load of
tomorrow's show? Lake Moore and I with nothing to talk
about Christmas Eve? You'll want to talk Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
I want to throw a wop.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
You know, as we shelled the Wild and Wolves game
to break down from tonight, it'd be one day before
Purple Detroit AN'SY North Division collision.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Wild and Wolves breakdown.
Speaker 14 (16:05):
Yeah, high like god, tear it down tuesdays.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
It's pretty good.
Speaker 14 (16:14):
Speaking of tearing it down, let's break it down. The
head coach of the soon to be Big Game World
champion of Minnesota Vikings, Kevin O'Connell, with this weekly news conference.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Hopefully you guys find some time to celebrate with your
loved ones this week. I know, you know we've got
a lot of work to do leading into Thursday, but
very much looking forward to it myself. Looking back to Sunday,
I just thought it was, you know, although different from
a standpoint and maybe how we won the football game
and the aesthetics of what it looked like. I think
(16:42):
this team has learned how to win a variety of
different games, depending on the elements, depending on injuries, depending
on any potential obstacles. We're going to try to find
a way to win a football game by any means necessary,
every sixty minutes that we do get. You know, it
was our kicking game with will and some tough elements
being three for three and obviously our defense being massive
(17:05):
for us with their performance on Sunday, and we and
we did enough offensively with with some adversity that kind
of hit along the way to win the football game.
Short week, not necessarily looking at a short week, more
so a fast opportunity that we'll be here before we
know it. And our team is really excited to be
back home, playing on Thursday, playing in.
Speaker 9 (17:26):
A game a lot of folks will be watching.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
It's a chance for us to continue to put on
display the growth of this team, the mindset of this team,
despite you know, circumstances. These guys want to win every
football game we got left. And it's gonna be really
a massive challenge. Dan's gonna have his team ready to go.
It's gonna be physical, it's gonna be sixty minutes of
(17:48):
NFC North football and this game means a lot to us,
and we're putting everything we've got into it, you know,
know when we get a chance to playing in front
of our great fans again at US Bank Stadium here
to close the season. A couple times to give you
guys an update, JJ McCarthy. We did continue to get
further imaging beyond the initial X ray and beyond even
(18:11):
the initial MRI. I got some further imaging and it
was discovered he does have a very very small hairline
fracture that was discovered in his hand. We are not
expecting to have him this week. I do not think
this is anything that will require surgery. You know, similar
kind of recovery is kind of similar to a bone bruise.
(18:32):
But obviously there is a small hairline fracture in there.
And we'll keep you guys posted about his availability next week.
Speaker 9 (18:40):
Said it after the game.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Been really really happy and proud of the way JJ
through the kind of final stands of the season here
has has really really took some big steps and grown
and it's been a blast, you know, being with him
every day and kind of being along that ride with him.
Although we've lost you know, time to continue that throughout
the season and and we're you know, experiencing again here
(19:04):
on a fast opportunity type short week that doesn't take
away from the growth we've seen from JJ. So he's
he's dialed in, he's you know, out, he was out
here for the walkthroughs, you know, being a part of
things and wants to stay one, locked and loaded in
the hopes of returning next week hopefully. But obviously we're
gonna be smart with him and see where, see where.
Speaker 9 (19:26):
It takes us. Outside of that, I'll open it up
for you to.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
You guys wearing women's on the Kelly.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah, Ryan Kelly more than likely will be out this week.
You know, he's doing well as far as you know
where his symptoms and things are at. Obviously disappointed that
it happened, and you know, just going back and taking
a look at not only the play, but you know,
the sequences you know, during the playoff to play if if,
if there was anything we could have avoided in there,
(19:56):
but but no, just part of the game. And and
Ryan knows that just so much, so much respect for
Ryan as a player and just the way he you know,
obviously took the amount of time he did and was
fighting to get back on the field and and felt
ready to go, and we were kind of holding back
a little bit beyond that, and then when he when
he returned to the field, just the impact he's had
on our offense over these.
Speaker 9 (20:18):
Last few games have been massive.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
So we need Jergs to step up and and play
a huge role for us. And and I know Ryan's gonna,
you know, do everything he can to help Jergs get
ready to go. And uh, you know, in all likelihood,
I think we're gonna, you know, we'll have some discussions.
It's obviously a short week and and and you know,
in regards to the roster management discussions and things like that,
(20:42):
you know that leave that to the personnel department. But I,
you know, Ryan and I will continue to have dialogue.
The most important thing for me has been making sure
that just he spends the majority of his time, you know,
with with the medical folks and making sure he's in
a good place.
Speaker 10 (20:56):
You guys are able to pinpoint when the hand injury
happened for Jake, Say.
Speaker 9 (21:00):
That one more time. You guys able to pinpoint.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
When the hand injury happened.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
You know, I know there's you know, there's been you know,
we checked the video, you know, thoroughly, like I know
many of you folks did as well, and and you
know there's obviously some potential candidates of plays that happened,
but he's not entirely sure exactly when it was. And
then ultimately, you know, kind of felt it for real
(21:24):
on on that you.
Speaker 9 (21:25):
Know, on his last play of the day. He said
he did feel it on that play, just.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
The fact that he didn't could not grip the ball. Yeah,
he I think, uh, I think the first time you know,
he really felt it was when after that play.
Speaker 9 (21:39):
I think they they evaluated him.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
I was right there on the sideline and he had
his first real pain, he said he felt when they
were checking certain spots of his hands.
Speaker 14 (21:51):
In terms of sorry, in terms of next week and
he spil doing what does that depend on?
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Curely, just you know, with with this injury and the
you know, really what it is and everything, it's just
it's one of those things. It's just about his grip
strength and his ability to grip the football and throw
the ball.
Speaker 9 (22:08):
See where he's at.
Speaker 14 (22:09):
What about Jordan Mason and how he's doing.
Speaker 9 (22:11):
Yeah, he's uh, he's still feeling it.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
He's still feeling it, and obviously with the short week,
he's gonna do everything he can to maybe.
Speaker 9 (22:18):
Try to give it a go. And and don't want to.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
You know, rule him out by any stretch yet give
him the ample time to try to see if he
can get there.
Speaker 9 (22:27):
But we are we we we do have.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Options from a standpoint if he can't go, you know,
ty Chandler is still in his window and could be
a possibility to come up to the roster.
Speaker 9 (22:38):
We've got some We've kind of been had some roster
spots for a couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Now we got you know, Dwight Mclothurn back on the
roster last week. It's given us some opportunities maybe elevate
some guys up from the practice squad and or potentially
have Tie available to to step in with with with
Aaron and Jay this week. Yeah, he's you know, obviously
came out of the game.
Speaker 9 (23:01):
Sorry.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
He did everything he could to get to the game.
And what an unbelievable display of leadership and just how
much all of this matters to him and how much
his teammates mattered to him, the fact that he was
able to get there and give it a go. So
obviously a shorter week this week, so we'll see where
he's at. We're going to try to kind of go
through a similar process, a little bit expetited timeline and see.
Speaker 9 (23:21):
If he can possibly get there.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
But you know, I know, if there's a chance chance
he can go, seventy five is going to be out there.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
I'd give when you were in the back and word
play entire game, did you see anything prior to that
very last play that indicated any kind.
Speaker 9 (23:35):
Of issue he was having.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
No, you know, obviously before that last drive, he had
had the scramble for the touchdown where he you know,
I said it after the game, I didn't have a
great angle on the actual crossing of the front line,
and I didn't know if maybe he took a took
a pretty good shot there, but he was able to
avoid that getting the end zone, and then I think
he got up, gave a you know, gave a pretty
(24:00):
significant high five to Jets, and then got into got
into his celebration. So nothing that I even think I
gave him a high five running off the field because
it was I thought it was a massive play in
the game. Another great example of him using that athleticism
on a weighty down to to kind of make it
right for us. So no, I had not you know,
there was no there was no feeling there. You know,
(24:22):
we were really I used the time out with the
defensive stop because I knew the Giants were getting the
ball and wanted to be aggressive. And then you know,
as that next series kind of started, we started off
with a run and then there was a little bit
of trying to communicate via you know, him being in
the middle of the field is not always easy to do,
and you know, tried to call a simple safe play
(24:45):
that we had had some execution on or in the
game to Jets, just a simple receiver screen, and you know,
he was unable to dish that ball out there by
not having a grip.
Speaker 14 (24:56):
You know, just when do you think you've heard it all?
It's not a short week ten to be it's a
fast opportunity.
Speaker 9 (25:03):
It is.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
It's like, I just he's lost it. I mean, that
was that was his.
Speaker 14 (25:12):
Football. It almost says if he's trying to convince himself
that the team really wants to play this week. I
guarantee you if you asked every player your option play
the last two weeks or just call a season, everyone
would say, let's just maybe bros. When would say, oh,
it's my chance. Every other guy would say, and this
isn't just the Vikings, it's any team that's on it.
(25:33):
But they would just say, Yeah, I'm beat up, I'm tired,
they're meaningless games.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Let's just go home.
Speaker 14 (25:41):
And he's trying to make it seem like this team
is going to come out of that locker. Let's go
get them and show what Vikings football is all about.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
That was like something PJ Fleck would make up. I
thought it was PJ Fleck.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Somebody sent that.
Speaker 14 (25:54):
Yeah, somebody said, that's it.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
He's past PJ.
Speaker 14 (25:58):
He's managed to take a short work week from us
and turn it into corporate mumble jung.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
It's just.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
By the way before we gets a spread swing. Yeah,
we do have a short break. Well, it's not a
short break, it's a fast opportunity. Yeah, that's exactly what
it is. So we'll do that coming up the other
side of the break of spreadswing. Here on the fan,
(26:28):
Wolves fans get ready join us for Michelo Bulcher Wolves
watch party at Casper's an Egan on December twenty ninth.

KFA dot com, Keybord Calendar com.
Speaker 14 (26:46):
Intend to be the legendary one. Mark Rosen joins us.
Douce will be with us momentarily for spread Swing. I
made a bold and very controversial statement. OH said, if
you asked every member of the Vikings off the record,
any team that's playing in a meaningless football game this
(27:08):
for the rest of the year, if you just said,
would you like to go out there the next two Sundays?
Would you rather just call it quit? So I guarantee
you fifty two out of fifty three, but say I'd
rather call it quit. Someone sends me a textas says,
when you suck at golf, you still want to go
out and play.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Don't be hypocrite.
Speaker 14 (27:23):
So many things wrong, And first of all, it was
about three it was about six seven weeks ago, asked
Brett blakemore, he'll be with me tomorrow tennebe will be out.
I walked off the golf. Of course, I was playing
so bad. I left on the thirteenth hole at at
at Oakmar So I just left and it's like it's
a plane around of golf is different than getting beat
(27:47):
up at and having collisions that are like two cars smashing.
You're already beating. You got aches and pains and bumps
and bruises. Like they would just rather go. It doesn't
make them bad people either, most of wouldn't. It's hard
to have half ascid when you're playing football game. Obviously,
you can't just go out there and go through the motions.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
It's really difficult.
Speaker 10 (28:09):
And I do think there are x number of players
just talk one in the Vikings who are playing for contracts,
playing for for a one more two more times to
try to press the ball to take the ty Feltons
of the world. I mean even Addison and he had
the drops last week. I mean, there are a lot
of guys that are have an opportunity that want to press.
(28:31):
If not the Vikings, other teams who are looking, you know,
to fill their rosters. So you know, obviously Max Brosemer
wants to play well. I mean it's uh, there's such
a dearth of backup quarterbacks in this league right now.
It's stunning, honestly, when you look at the front line
quarterbacks that roam the NFL and rule the NFL. Then
you look at many of their backups and you just
(28:52):
kind of starting with the guy who had to come
in we played last night, when you look at forty
four year old Philip Rivers. But y, so, I don't know,
I mean I think that, Yeah, generally speaking, you know
at this point, you know they're gonna. I don't think
it matters once the game's over, They're not gonna they're
gonna hang their heads.
Speaker 14 (29:08):
Especially let's say your two teams going nowhere. Let's just say,
for instance, weather was you're gonna play an outdoor game
like yeah in Philadelphia, worship playing to Philadelphia and it's
gonna be zero degrees. Don't tell me they want to play,
because some might do smart nuts, but it doesn't make
the bad people.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
No, it doesn't even know why we're discussing.
Speaker 14 (29:28):
Don't here someone who gives it everything he's got, no
matter what he's doing, and that would be my first born.
It's Deuce up early this morning working from home. You
should have saw him grinding it out. And then how
about your brother giving you a hard time.
Speaker 15 (29:44):
I'm just sitting there down by the by the fireplace,
trying to warm myself on the chilling Minnesota morning. And
he walks by and he goes, be sure you're working there,
big dog, Get to work there, brother, Yeah, like, well,
I know that, you know, they don't need to tell
me that. And then you know why you got to
give me a heart.
Speaker 14 (29:58):
And then you were getting ready to go out to run,
and what did he say? He goes, not time to run,
you need work.
Speaker 15 (30:03):
Yeah, it ain't run the time, bubba bubba.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Yeah, I called you well, you call him.
Speaker 15 (30:10):
Dork well, and I call him loser too, But that's
just the truth.
Speaker 14 (30:16):
I can't by Yeah, that's a loser, that's true. Good
to have you on the air. Mark Rosen is here,
so is ten to b. Let's get to it. It's
time now, four.
Speaker 13 (30:26):
Spread swing, all four of us in the black.
Speaker 5 (30:37):
Going into last week, I was in the lead of
seventy seven. Coming right back behind me at sixty eight
and a half. Rosen of course made that big jump.
He got to forty two and a half and deuce
in fourth place with nineteen and a halfs. A couple
of small victories for you. Last week. You had the
purple minus two and a half against the New York Giants.
They won by three. It's a gain half a point there.
(31:01):
You also had Carolina plus three against Tampa Bay Tampa
Bay and they won by three. Said gained six there,
so you you improved. You You're up to twenty six points,
almost a record sitting day for you. I know you've
had one or two better, but that's a really six
and a half points. Dave career high produced objects in
Rosen's mirror closer than they appear. Because Rosen came back
to you a little bit after his great week and
(31:23):
fifteen he had Baltimore minus three against New England. The
Patriots won that one by four, So Rosie lost seven there.
And then you, in common had the great Rams Seahawks
debate where you both went head to head against each other.
Look like you were golden for a while. You had
the Rams plus one in that one. Yeah, and they
end up losing thirty eight thirty seven in overtime. They
(31:45):
lost by point, which means you got zero zero for
that one.
Speaker 14 (31:49):
I was going to say, old Sam Darnold went from
nightmares to a dream come true.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Wasn't seeing ghosts in that one?
Speaker 9 (31:58):
Nope?
Speaker 5 (31:59):
So Rosen, You're in You dropped down to thirty five
and a half points. You're just nine and a half
ahead of Deuce Common. You had the opposite side of
that Seattle Rams game, which means you got zero on
that one as well, But I got bragging rights. And
then your Detroit Lions fell apart like a cheap suit.
At Detroit minus seven, you had them, they lost by
five to Pittsburgh. See, you lost twelve points. You moved
(32:20):
back to fifty six and a half.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Trouble.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
And then I had a couple smaller victories. I had
Philadelphia minus six and a half against Washington. They won
by eleven, so I gained four and a half there.
And then, speaking of great comebacks to save me in
spread swing, I had the Chicago Bears plus one and
they ended up winning by six in overtime, so I
gained seven on that one. So I'm in the lead
with eighty eight and a half. Common, you're in second
(32:44):
with fifty six and a half, Rosen in third with
thirty five and a half, and Deuce in fourth with
twenty six points.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Seven. Let me do this. Let's do this. Get this
one out of the way.
Speaker 14 (32:54):
I'll talk about how I'll whine a little bit about
having to take the lines, you say, and then you go,
would have taken the line?
Speaker 5 (33:00):
I would take them this week? Last week, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Would have taken them.
Speaker 14 (33:04):
That's what Tannabe says every time I complained about the line,
I would have taken them.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
I do like the lines this week?
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Well yeah, well, lots of reasons, I guess.
Speaker 5 (33:12):
Uh so the orders, the order is going to be.
Speaker 14 (33:15):
This isn't a short week.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
It's a fast opportunity. I like that. Yeah, sure you do.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
So we're gonna go deuce Rosen Common and Tenna.
Speaker 14 (33:27):
Spread swing.
Speaker 15 (33:35):
When was sending the list over, he left off one
of the most interesting games of the week in my mind.
The Green Bay Packers will travel to Baltimore. I believe
that one's in Baltimore. Anyway, they'll play.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
In green Bay?
Speaker 15 (33:51):
Is that curly?
Speaker 3 (33:54):
What?
Speaker 15 (33:55):
I like the Baltimore Ravens and this match up, I think, Sorry.
Speaker 10 (34:04):
Sa Greenby, I'm sorry, go ahead.
Speaker 15 (34:07):
Okay, Ackaren Bay. Well, I like the Ravens in this matchup,
and I'm I'm drinking the Honolulu Blue kool Aid. Even
though the Detroit playoff odds they're only a little bit
lower than Rosie Sinker sale percentage and higher, and they're
a bit higher than the odds jackpot. I'm slinging onto
(34:33):
the hope and I think the Ravens are going to
go into lambeau Field and get the victory. I think
Malik Willis will probably end up starting because Jay Love
took a big hit and I think he's got a concussion.
I think Moleiki struggle. He's probably only started about six
seven games in his career. Lamar is gonna have a nice.
Speaker 14 (34:54):
Lamar might not play.
Speaker 15 (34:56):
He left then might not play. Lamar is a tough guy.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
I still play. I got.
Speaker 15 (35:01):
I'm not paying his close attention to Baltimore Ravens football
as I want this for sure. But I think Lamar
is going to stick it out, and I think the
Baltimore Ravens are going to win the game. And I'm
delusional because Detroit needs a Packer loss. So I'll take
Baltimore plus two and a half at currently.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
Also, Jordan Love still in concussion protocol, but did practice
in a limited capacity.
Speaker 13 (35:20):
Today's all right, spread swing.
Speaker 14 (35:26):
The doctor examining him is probably a partial owners ownership.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
It's a mustling game farm. He'll he'll find a way
to play well commed.
Speaker 10 (35:35):
You were just talking about teams kind of mailing it
in and looking looking for next year, and guys, you
got their golf clubs packed, et cetera, et cetera. You know,
the old cliches. And I think one of those teams,
clearly the Arizona Cardinals. They lost seven in a row.
Jacoby Brissett is the quarterback they're they're going up against now,
a red hot, resurgent Joe Burrow. I think who's trying
(35:56):
to prove that he's he is one of the leaite
quarterbacks in the league. And the Banks you know, uh
how Burrow goes, So do the Bengals, and I you know,
they're playing in Cincinnati seven point favorites. Arizona's going just
get this thing over with. So I can't double down,
but I will take Cincinnati minus seven.
Speaker 5 (36:17):
Did I my top choice today?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
I feel good about that.
Speaker 10 (36:20):
Okay, I'll take I'll take the Bungles Joe Burrow to
bury the Cardinals on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Cardinals have averaged thirty four point seven points against during
their Saturday living right now.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Yeah, then Burrow's hot.
Speaker 14 (36:35):
Spread swing. Yeah, I guess I've been doing it for
years now, no reason to stop now, And yeah, I
(36:57):
mean it's I think they're all to a team despite
the fact they have like a six percent chance or
is a four percent chance making the playoffs due spelled
it out, they need to win to and watch green
Bay lose to, which I really I don't think. I
think green Bay is going to win this week and
then they'll win next week as well.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
But I think Detroit and other of those.
Speaker 14 (37:20):
Teams, if you went to each player and said, where's
the goad to give you the next two weeks off?
What do you think everyone would say? You don't have
to ask me a second time.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
I'm so close the last two years.
Speaker 14 (37:31):
So I think they're just they would all just had
out there and I'm I'm not saying they're going to
mail it in. I mean, once you're out playing the game,
you play the game. And I'm I'm just suggesting if
they have the choice to play the string out when
you're when you're not gonna make postseason play, or continue
to play, I think the vast majority of the players
would say I'm out, but they're not.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
They'll be there.
Speaker 14 (37:50):
And yeah, I suppose with especially with Brozeman, it looks.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Like Brozemer is going to start.
Speaker 14 (37:55):
Well he is, He's going to start, so uh yeah,
I mean, I just I don't think it's going to
be a great game. Body starts to the imagination. I
still think the Vikings might they should be. I don't know,
with defensive players injured. I mean, I suppose that. Sure,
Troit could go in with an attitude that we really
want to win. But I think it'll be a close game.
But Detroit probably will win the game. I'll go with that.
So though it doesn't really matter either way for either club.
(38:18):
But as a matter of fact, if you are a
fan of either team and you care about draft position,
you want your team.
Speaker 10 (38:23):
Well, it's such as draft position that the Vikings lose
this game, they'll get a fourth place schedule, and and
the schedule too.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
That's a big difference.
Speaker 14 (38:29):
Yeah, joy, So I'll take the kids spread swing.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
I'm very disappointed Rosen took the Bengals away from me.
That was my clear cut top choice in this one.
I don't like a lot of the games this week,
but Vikings lines aren't the only game being played on Christmas.
There's three games that on that day. Dallas is favored
by seven at Washington, and I wouldn't call it a
short he could call it a fast opportunity for the
Dallas Cowboys in this one. Dallas' offense is good, Washington's
(39:07):
defense is bad, so Dallas' offense should put up a
lot of points here. On the other side of the ball,
Washington already shut down Jaydon Daniels for the year, and
it sounds like Marcus Mariota might not go in this
one because he heard he hurt his throwing hand in
the last games. That means something called Josh Johnson could
get the start for Washington. So uh, if there's one
(39:28):
team that could run up the score here, especially now
that the pressure's off for him a little bit, I
think it's gonna be the Dallas Cowboys. So I'm gonna
take Dallas. How about them Cowboys? I'm gonna take Dallas
minus seven at Washington, spread swing.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
I get another game that.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
That's on deuced first.
Speaker 10 (39:55):
My bad, My bad, Go ahead, Doucy.
Speaker 15 (39:58):
We which onun may cause a little tension within the
Cole household. I'm a Kitty fan, my dad's converted me.
But it's white out week in Minnesota. The Vikings are
used to playing in these white out environments. It's a
yearly traditional and I just google it and Rock Ai
(40:20):
tells me, Yes, a white out stadium can affect athletes
ability to see well by reducing contrasts, sensitivity, and potentially
causing glare, making it more challenging to track the ball
and other players. Clearly, this provides a huge advantage for
the Minnesota Vikings. And I feel like if the if
(40:42):
the Detroit Lions continue to play defense the way they
have in UH in recent contest. We're so banged up.
Speaker 14 (40:49):
You mean that Swiss, that's Swiss, that Swiss cheese defense
that we're known for.
Speaker 15 (40:54):
Yeah, I think we're going to implement our Swiss cheese defense.
And I think JJ McCarthy could see.
Speaker 14 (40:59):
Uh's playing to continue to dude, he's not playing.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
He's gonna pay us attention. That it was just we've
been talking.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
He's took two teams and when she doesn't know the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Yeah, but McCarthy was ruled out.
Speaker 15 (41:13):
Excuse me for having a day yet I think that
I think that.
Speaker 11 (41:18):
I think that Bro was gonna come in and lead.
Speaker 15 (41:21):
The Vikings to a victory. I just have no faith
in my kiddies. UH give me the Minnesota Vikings plus
six and a half.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Wow, no, wonder your last play.
Speaker 14 (41:33):
Spread swing. I mean, guess you think fran Tarkington is
going to be the backup. I like Joe Tapp as
the backup.
Speaker 10 (41:44):
Actually, you know some people, yeah, so many, some people
could call this potential super Bowl matchup. There's there's plenty
of them out there, of course, talking about but they're
at home, and I I think I think Buffalo has
something to play for still, and I think the Eagles,
you know, they just age they clinched the division, but
(42:05):
you know, maybe have a bit of a letdown. I
just think the Bills and it'll be a potential shootout.
But I don't want to take I mean, I think
the other game was gonna takes New Orleans to beat
the crap out of Tennessee. But who cares about that game?
I don't even care about watching or even hearing about it.
So I'll go with the game that's got a lot
more glamour and glitz to it. I'll take the Buffalo
Bills and Josh Allen over Jalen Hurts and the Eagles
(42:26):
minus two at home.
Speaker 14 (42:30):
Spread swing our Chicago at San Francisco. I think the
Bears are the best team in pro football. I think
the Bears are going to win the big game. I
think Caleb Williams is going to be the next not
(42:54):
the same stop and I'm just seeing the next Pat Mahomes.
He's going to be the next great quarterback in this league.
The kid I think he has. He's got all the
traits that you look for.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
I know, the first half against Green Bay was awful.
Guess what he did in the second. He was brilliant,
you know.
Speaker 14 (43:08):
And so I know San Francisco playing well, they beat
Phil Rivers last night, et cetera. But I I like
the Bears, and I get three and a half points,
I'll take Chicago mostly just because I want him to win.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
Chicago is a tough guy town. Yeah, well, Chicago was
of those Bears spread swing.
Speaker 5 (43:33):
We're at the time of the season where I got
to play a little strategy because I was gonna go
with the San Francisco forty nine ers minus three and
a half. But I don't know if I can afford
a double loss at this stage of the of the
season if it went to Rye for me, So I'm
gonna pivot.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
You're pivoting I'm gonna pivot.
Speaker 5 (43:49):
I'm gonna go to the Chargers in Houston Texans game
where the the Superchargers are favored by two and a
half points at home. But I mean the Houston Texans,
all they do is win. They won seven in a row,
They got the best defense in football, and the Chargers
have both of their tackles on ir for the rest
of the year. And one thing Houston can do is
(44:11):
they can rush the passer from the edge with Danielle
Hunter and Will Anderson. So I think they are going
to be getting to Justin Herbert all day long, and
I'm going to be getting two and a half points
on it. So I'll take Houston plus two and a
half on the road at LA.
Speaker 9 (44:26):
And there we go.
Speaker 5 (44:27):
That's it.
Speaker 14 (44:27):
That's suppressing, dude. You know your your theory about the
white out and the glare. You know the Vikings are
playing in that same stadium.
Speaker 5 (44:34):
You know that seems like a right.
Speaker 15 (44:36):
They've played it, They've experienced a white out stadium more
often than Detroit has. I think they'll be more adept
or they'll be more adept at playing in such conditions.
That's also this whole analysis that I'm doing is just
it's next level. I wouldn't expect you done.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
It is next level.
Speaker 14 (44:56):
One emailer or text mester says, Deuce has officially tuned out.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
I'll see you at home.
Speaker 15 (45:05):
You're gonna be yeah, well maybe not, depending on when
you get home and when I leave for Lakeville North
versus you on the game.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
You're right, so what what time will that be?
Speaker 9 (45:16):
Said?
Speaker 15 (45:18):
Yeah, yeah, that's seven o'clock. Should be a fun little
night of hockey. We had a great game last week.
Unfortunately Lakeville North came up short against crosstown rivals Lakeville South,
but should bounce back tonight. I should be excited.
Speaker 14 (45:31):
I'll be listening. Thanks a lot, We'll talk to you soon.
Drive carefully out there and back.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
Please thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
Guys.
Speaker 14 (45:38):
There's Mark rosen Common at tennaby. Let's take a short break.
Actually it's a long opportunity. We'll do that next Coming
Man program on the Fans
