Speaker 1 (00:03):
Well. Over the thirty plus years I've been sitting in
this chair, I've started late a lot of times, time
runs over spot issues. I don't remember ever starting early
for a three hour shift. But here we are. It's
the common Man program. Dan is out this week. It's
a revolving chair over the next four or five days,
and lucky you you get Sinnecon on a Monday, Dave

(00:24):
Sinecon along with Brett Blake Moore figuring out a way
to fill three hours, and we get an extra two
or three minutes just to all boy, just to make
things a little bit more difficult. Whenever I fill in
for common I always try to follow his lead. I
just don't come in with any prep. I just figure
I'll sit down like him and we'll make it happen.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
So here we go.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Here we go, Brett, we got a few hours to
make magic happen.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
When the last time you played golf?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
What did I shoot on one back on October third
or whatever it was. I'm not even sure I played
in October. I think it I probably did. But if
you're gonna ask me what I shot on one or
how I did on one, I know no recollection I
can guarantee it was not a par and I'm sure
I was not in the fair way. Usually takes me
a few holes to get going. You've played much more

(01:12):
recently because you were in the Lovely Desert over Christmas
and got to place some target golf in Arizona. So no,
you will not be subjected to my golf game. I
can't promise I won't subject you to Blake Morris because
we got nine segments to fill and there's every possibility
that might happen. I do have one guest lined up
at one thirty five. We will chat Timberwolves with one

(01:35):
of my favorite chroniclers of the timber Puppies, that is
Britt Robson, a frequent guest of mine.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
He will join.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
He writes for the Forminpost dot com and does a
great job spinning the words. We will chat with him.
The Wolves play tonight, the Wild play tonight. We will
get into all of that. I feel like this is
this is NFL day, right. It's the Monday after Week seventeen.
It started back on Christmas Day and went through a
thrilling if you love offense game last night, and a

(02:06):
lot of things have been made clear. There's a lot
of storylines to talk about, a lot of news revolving
the two teams we like to chat about most, even
though this will be the least attractive, least anticipated border
battle in recent memory. Ever, Well, probably someone's gonna text
me and go, don't you remember like three years ago?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Don't you remember nineteen seventy eight? Come on? No more likely?
Don't you remember two years ago?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Dave?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
How stupid are you?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
There was a I don't remember when, but yeah, there's
very little to get excited about Sunday right except at
this point Vikings fans, the draft position dream is dead, right,
win or lose.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
You're kind of where you are.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
You may as well beat the Packers right and get
the nine win season, get a winning season after the
pair shaped season it's been to finish with five straight wins,
the old cliche momentum going into the twenty six season,
with five straight wins, that would mean something. I mean,
really what I haven't looked at? What's the difference in
draft position versus win versus lost for the Vikings. Do

(03:06):
you have any idea? Because I think it was like
seventeen heading into last week, I think, or maybe that
was after.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Christmas, as it stands right now, they're picking seventeenth in
the draft.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
They are.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
So there's a couple eight and eight teams. There's Detroit
who's Detroit right now is picking above Minnesota in the draft,
which is just ubsurd, and they will likely finish eight
to nine. They'll likely lose in Chicago. We can agree
on that correct.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well, yeah, because they don't have anything to play for either.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
They do not, and Ben bes Pa was saying about
an hour ago, Ben Johnson, after the Lions put fifty
something on his squad, he's ready.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
To deliver a little payback.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
So Detroit's going to be eight and nine. Baltimore, they've
got something to play for, yep. So that's kind of
a coin toss there. Then Minnesota at seventeen, the Jets
via Indianapolis at eighteen, which is just up Storr. We
talked about that yesterday, that the fall of Indianapolis is
more sudden than ours, and then Carolina it's also eight
and eight. So a bunch of those teams from fifteen

(04:04):
to nineteen all in the eight and eight range.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Right, So you know you're gonna pick somewhere between fifteen
and nineteen. Doesn't really matter at that point, like our
Viking fans gonna, oh man, we could have gone to
sixteen if we had let the Packers win. Now we're eighteen.
That doesn't matter right this time. For that was five weeks. Yes,
when were they were staring at like the top seven
or eight pick right at that point.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
But I'm not one of those guys that you blew it.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
You should have lost out and gott into four and thirteen.
Although four and thirteen is kind of a magic number
if you think about it. I think the Jaguars were
four and thirteen, the Patriots were four and thirteen, and
look at them now, look at them now, they're both
in play for the one seed. Bears were five and twelve.
They the number one seed died last night. But obviously
quite a turnaround. It's that's kind of the story of

(04:49):
this year, is the massive turnarounds for teams. I mean
usually there's one, but like last year was Washington that
jumps to mind.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
They went right back to correct where they were.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yes, and that wasn't a real surprise. They were living
on all kinds of pixie dust last year, kind of
like the Bears in a way. I'm not going to
crap on the Bears too much. But we all know
that they are a whole lot of luck away from
being six and eleven right now this season. If you
look at some of the way those games ended against

(05:21):
bad teams too. I mean, forget the Packer game two
weeks ago, the Raiders game. I mean there were four
or five games where they were dead and buried with
three minutes left and somehow found a way to win.
And I'm again good for them. Maybe that's going to
springboard them to now a team that's dominant for years.
We'll see. But I watched a team last night in
the Chicago Bears, who gave up forty two points or

(05:45):
more for the third time this season. That's the only
team in the NFL that's done that, given up at
least forty two points three times. So I don't believe
their time has come. I don't see them steamrolling through
the NFC. I don't trust San France's defense either. No,
one of the very few predictions I got right, it
might be the only one I got right. No, I

(06:06):
got too because I said the Commanders would missed the playoffs.
I said the Lions would would not win the North.
But I also thought San Francisco would be the number
one seed, which is still in play, and it wasn't
because I think they're dominant. It's because I saw their schedule.
That fourth place schedule for San Francisco was so soft
this year that I thought, man, if they just stay healthy,

(06:27):
you know they're going to be they have a chance
to be the one seat. Well, they didn't stay healthy.
You know, that team you have to get in some
credit because we kind of whine about the packers plight
with all the key players that have been lost to injury.
San Francisco is saying, you know, hold my kleenex. We
didn't have a quarterback for eight weeks. We lost the
two best defensive players in our team, who, by the way,

(06:48):
are probably two of the top ten in the league
in Nick Bosa week three and Fred Warner, I don't
know when it was week seven or eight. And yeah,
so their defensive struggle, but whether it was Perdi or
mac Jones, the offense has carried that team and they
haven't had George Kittle for half the season. So when
San Francisco's done, you have to tip their cap. They

(07:09):
have a very good chance at the one seed, and
that's why you look at Week eighteen and it's kind
of cool. We both love our two fan bases, would
love the fact that our teams were more of a factor.
But the fact that neither number one seed is wrapped
up heading into week eighteen.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
That's rare. That does not happen very often.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
And four division titles are still in play heading into
week eighteen. So I mean, if you love just football
and you put your fandom aside, there is some drama
yet to be unleashed, and we'll go through all of
it on this program. Let me tell you the rest
of the day on the Fan again, this is a
week every year I get a little run. All the
filling guys get a little run. No common, no burero

(07:54):
this week as they take the week off between Christmas
and New Year's. Alec Lewis will join the program at
three o'clock for an abbreviated one hour edition of the
Bumper to Bumper program. Alec Lewis talking all things Purple
and NFL from three to four. Then Vikings rewind at
four o'clock, taking you into World Juniors on the Fan

(08:18):
team USA versus Slovakia. Is this a Zach Halverson production?
Do you know I believe, so, Yes, we should know
who the broadcast team is because that's fun stuff. I'm
sure Zach is he's been doing it. Yes, it's so
geeked to be able to do these games. I'm really
happy for him that he gets to do that. We
will carry that game on the fan at five o'clock
today that at seven, we will have the first half

(08:39):
of the Riveting Rams Falcons game, final Monday night game
of the season, a game that has actually a little
bit more than you would think because the Rams, though
the dream is dead for them to be the one seed,
they went out there the five seed, which is more
appealing than the six because obviously with five you get
the NFC South champ Bucks, Panthers. That's they will be

(09:02):
heavily favored the Rams whether they play the Panthers or
Falcons as the five seed, whereas if they're the sixth seed,
they're going to get the loser of the Saturday night
game between the Seahawks and Niners. That's tricky, that's a
division game. But obviously if you tell them, hey, you
want to play the Bucks or Panthers or would you
rather play the Seahawks or Niners, I think we know
which way the rams would go, so they have something

(09:23):
to play for. Tonight will carry the first half of
that and then we will have wild hockey against the
Vegas Golden Knights in Sin City nine o'clock. The coverage
on the fan. If you want to listen to the Wolves,
you will find them on the iHeart app. Just look
for the Timberwolves station on the free iHeart app. So
it's a pretty that's a pretty meaty day on a fan.

(09:45):
You could say it kind of starts with us at
this point, it gets better as the day goes along.
I don't think I would take any overwa.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Where are the like the opening acts where like everyone's
kind of filing into the place totally, and then the
headliner comes on later.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I would go as far as to say, we're the
kind of event where there's like five or six bands
on the docket and we're number one.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
We're the one we're trying to get our footmark the
local band that they're paying like twenty bucks too.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Exactly, look at the opportunity we're giving you. Yes, As
the ushers are still cleaning out the seats and they're
making sure the beverages are cold enough for the ones
on stage at that point. But we're happy to be here,
and certainly we'll welcome input from any and all who'd
like to communicate with us, whether it's via text. Bradshaw
and Bryan kfan text line six four six eighty six,

(10:30):
you could tweet me at TC head cheese.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
We're gonna talk.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I would say, primarily NFL today, the day after week seventeen,
and just take a wide look at where the league sits,
and where the Vikings sit heading into week eighteen, where
the Packers sit as they write a three game losing streak,
and whatever is there a ward that's the opposite of momentum,
Like can you look up? This will be being common now,

(10:53):
can you look up antonym of momentum? Antonym means opposite
of if you weren't sure, what is the opposite of momentum,
because that's what Green Bay's got writing a three game
losing streak, and green Bay, by the way, locked in
at the seven seed. They know they will either head
to Chicago or Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Antonyms of the word momentum include inertia.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Which I don't think is right.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
It doesn't fit, stillness, sluggishness, halt, or stagnation, I think
stagnation is probably of.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
The words you just gave me.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yeah, that seems closest, and that's still not the kind
of word I was thinking of in my head.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
But yeah, that feels like we're there.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Is static, sluggish, None of those feel negative enough for me.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I was looking for something a bit more negative. Well.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Inertia describes an object's resistance to change in motion or
lack of motion.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
That's what I think, lack of motion. It's just you're
just kind of sitting there, kind of like Micah Parsons today,
who showed an on Instagram post of him wearing the
surgical cap lying on the bed, like today's the day
he gets his ACL surgery. Just that's to me, just
a little another gut punch on a Monday, a Monday
after he lost weekend for US packer fans to see
Mica wearing the blue cap and the scrubs and getting

(12:10):
set to get his knee worke done. But let's get
it fixed. Let's get it done, Let's start the rehabilitation process,
and let's look ahead to twenty twenty six, which is
not what you want. As we get set to turn
the pages on a calendar year, on a Monday, the
final Monday of twenty twenty five. So I look forward
to chatting NFL and what we saw over the weekend,

(12:31):
what lies ahead, and who is what's the most likely
super Bowl matchup in your mind? Who I've never in
my recent memory can think of a year where I
just have. You could tell me sixteen combinations right now
that could be the super Bowl matchup, and I would say, yeah,
I could see that, or yeah I could see that.

(12:52):
I was thinking about him as I was driving in
Like if I asked myself right today, what's the super
Bowl matchup? As we sit heading into week eighteen, the
only team that came to my head was the La Rams.
I kind of feel strongest about the Rams. I think
that they could go anywhere. I feel like they have
less moles and less defects than all the other NFC contenders.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
So I would ride the Rams, but in the and
the AFC, no clue.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
I maybe New England that would be the one team
for me. And again talking about moles and you know, imperfections,
they haven't beaten a bevy of contenders that they are
another team that have gotten healthy and fat on really
bad football teams and so I don't know how good

(13:40):
they are.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
They might be just fantastic.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
And what Drake Madye did yesterday, if he didn't win
the MVP yesterday, then Matthew Stafford's going to have to
make his statement tonight on Monday Night Football and claim
it back because he was like, wait, I wrote it down,
let me get the glasses on for a second and
final perfect. Hey we started three minutes early. I've been

(14:04):
titled to a little elevator music, I think so, so
that fits well. Drake may was nineteen for twenty one
for two hundred and fifty six hards and five touchdowns,
all right, and then he just took the rest of
the day off because Wow, the Jets, what the Jets
have looked like the last four weeks is maybe the
worst NFL team I've ever seen. I've never seen a

(14:25):
more non competitive team to the New York Jets the
last four weeks. I don't know how Aaron Glenn saves
his job. I don't know how Pete Carroll saves his
job in Vegas. That there's going to be a lot
of interesting decisions. Whether one and done is the theme
maybe for some of these NFL coaches because this is
the day a week from now is the Black Monday
where probably well two coaches have already been fired. I'm

(14:47):
guessing another four or five likely will get their pink
slips a day a week from today, and maybe one
or two that had the job for one year. And
it's kind of like the package did that once with
Ray Rhodes year. We made a mistake. We're moving on
and not always the wrong thing to do. You know,
cut your losses, Yeah, swallow the millions and cut your

(15:08):
losses and don't deal with Well, pay him the guy,
and I may as well give him another chance. If
that Vegas is bringing in the number one pick and
it's a quarterback, you don't want Pete Carroll anywhere near
that guy. You you want Look what Jacksonville's done with
their head coach with Trevor Lawrence. Look what Josh McDaniel
has done with Drake May in New England. You just
got to find a young offensive mind to mold whatever

(15:30):
quarterback you draft at number one, which is likely where
the Raiders are going. All right, let's step away, senecon
in for common Blake Moore by my side. We're here
till three lots of NFL conversation between now and three
some Timberwolves at about one thirty. Otherwise we're wide open.
It's the program. What else would it be glad to
have you along for the ride. We're back after the

(16:12):
I'm getting some heat on the brash on Brian Kfan
text line for talking down to my audience having to
explain what antonym means. I was just talking down to you.
I wasn't assuming that the audience didn't know that I
picked up what you were putting down. I knew what
you were saying. I mean, I thought that was obvious,
but I'd like to clarify that I wasn't speaking to
the audience. I want to ask you if you knew

(16:33):
what antonym meant, because that's not germane to the conversation.
I was just making sure didn't want to embarrass you
by asking you for the antonym of a momentum and
you have no idea what to do at that point.
I was just trying to throw your bone a little bit.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Also was told we missed a golden opportunity doing this
three hour show with nothing to talk about by not
extending the open music with a montage or something to
kill about ten minutes. We didn't. Really we could have
played no Derek Henry highlights that would have taken us
up until one o'clock product.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
In retrospect, that might have been a way to go.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Sometimes what I do fill in this time of year,
football season, h kings are in everybody's mind. But we
know what I like to talk about sometimes the iHeart
guccies like to bring in a bench coach to sit
by me, keep me on track, keep me disciplined, make
sure I do don't lose sight of like what side
of the bread is buttered.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
So fortunately we.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Do have that bench coach on hand today on a
holiday week, he came in to help out. So he
did give me some pointers during the break fire.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
I'm hire kime time time, all right, Sin, I can't
remember to have a count for packers talkers. Okay, letting
you go over three packers talkers today, so you just
choose one of them up, you got polaft, you got it,
got it? If you're all right after that one, all right,
let's go come.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
On, then you can make two work for the rest
of the show. I'm not gonna lie. That does help me.
It tease me focused.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
So I'm pleased to have him here, and hopefully I
won't he won't need to interject too often. It was again,
this doesn't count, but I talked about Michael Parsons surgery. Yeah,
so that was the first time, and that it is
Border Battle week. So I do think there is some
latitude given here today. I think, especially you know, a
lot of the audience I'm sure hasn't heard you and

(18:25):
I are crocodile tears from what happens Saturday night if
they don't listen over the weekend. So we will at
some point dive into some of that what happened to
our favorite team as we move along, but just to
be safe, it's nice to have that dude around.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
It sounds like, as we.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Were talking right before the show started, I'm fairly lucky
that you got here by eleven fifty seven when the
show started, because yesterday we're doing the we're doing Sunday sermons,
and the snow is flying down. We're naming the snow
Nami yesterday in honor of Bump, and you're concerned about
just getting home in your rab's small car. It's a

(19:01):
small car load to the ground load to the ground.
The tires aren't necessarily brand new necessarily, and so the
snow is going to be a bit of an issue.
I was glad you posted via x the photo of
the blue hatchback or sedan or whatever we're calling it
parked underground in your fancy apartment building and you were
safely home.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
So there is something satisfying just watching it instantly melt
right in front.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
There's no question about it. What happened today today was
almost worse.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
I thought like, yeah, I mean I left it like
eleven yesterday, so it was just at the start of
it and it was pretty bad. But today it was
like I could have skated here faster. I mean one
hundred I had to go to merge on to one
hundred north. There was a semi that was blocking the
entire thing. So you've got to just cars backed up.
And I know with my car with the probably yellow

(19:53):
grade tires, they're not bald, they're still good, but they're
not winter tires. If I stop and I can't get
started again, so I've got to go around to go
south and then around again, you know, around the clover
leaf to actually go and that's exit ramps are the
worst thing. Ever, but then the city roads like Richfield
ice Rink here in St. Louis Park ice rink. I'm

(20:14):
sliding around, you know, counter steering around roundabouts today. I'm sorry,
did the snow not I don't know anything about snow removal.
I don't know how it works, but I feel like
in Minnesota it should.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
We should be mostly done by now. I agree, do
you think? Yes?

Speaker 1 (20:30):
And I had the same issue on a roundabout just
near the station here where I thought I was going
slowing up, but suddenly tires aren't holding and I'm sliding
just a little bit. Wow, it's twenty four hours since
the snow has stopped for the most part. Shouldn't the
roads be a little more clear at this point? So
here's a true story from this morning. I didn't by
the way, I didn't think I was gonna make it.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
I was close. I got here, like fifty.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
I'm going on sixty two West and there's a semi
pulled over. I think there's a there as well, start
blocking the whole right lane, so you got to merge over.
I look in my rooview mirror and I see a
sedan sideways behind me, like fish tailing and swerving He's
about to go in this truck and I'm like, I'm
getting out of this guy's way. I move over and

(21:15):
he barely saves it the last second and like gives
me a wave. Godspeed. I mean, the roads are just
horrendous right now. They're not good. No, I hope I
make it the world, Junior said Greg, scene are well,
you are heading to Saint Paul.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
That's that's right.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
The game is at five. You'll hear it on the fan.
You're out of here at three when we're done a
year with ATC at four. Yep, that's gonna be dicey.
That's gonna be dicey. He had an hour to get there,
get in your seats. Mm hmm, yeah, fifty to fifty
that you make it there by. I'm hoping to.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Make it by puck drop.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
I'd like to see the opening presentation, but I think
that might be a long shot.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
It might be allowed to Well, we're glad you made it.
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
I'm glad to be with you for these three hours,
our last chance to don these air waves until the
new year. I assume I'll join PA on Friday for
the Border Battle or whatever. Buffalo Wow Wings. He's broadcasting
from on Friday. It's not going to have the usual juice,
but it's a football game between our two teams they're
going to play on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
I'm just glad it's at noon.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Let's just get it over with and move on with
our lives. So looking back at what we saw in
week seventeen, particularly yesterday, it was a very entertaining, tending
game last night. Obviously they said it over and over again,
it's pretty amazing that we've never had a regular season
game that was tied at seven, fourteen, twenty one, twenty eight,

(22:35):
and thirty five.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
That's remarkable.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
And what Brock Purdy has done the last two weeks,
ten touchdowns that he's accounted for in the last two weeks.
I'm old enough to remember six weeks ago when people
were saying Matt Jones is better than Brock Purdy, like
I'm losing anything, but not having Brock Purty out there,
he looked pretty good last night. Without George Kettle. He
hasn't had Brandon Ayuk all season, have Christian McCaffrey, who

(23:01):
probably won a number of fantasy leagues last night. When
it comes down to again, there's a game tonight I
understand that, but when it comes down to that final
game or two and one of your studs goes off
like that, there's very few better feelings as a fantasy
football player than watching your guy just go off. And
whether you had Purty or McCaffery, you're probably feeling pretty
good about what you did last night, what they did

(23:23):
last night. That brings me to a question I wanted
to throw out there, because you watch what the Niners
have done, and I know it doesn't involve our team,
so I don't know how many of you care, but
it just struck me that you could make a really
good case for like five guys to be Coach of
the Year this year, and I don't know who's going

(23:43):
to get it. I don't know who should get it,
So I mean, I think Shanahan should be in the conversation,
but he's on the It was a forty nine Ers coach,
and usually with all these great turnarounds we've seen we
talked about, I'm not sure he'll get it, but the
fact that he's played without his two best defensive players,
without his quarterback for half the season, his top receiver
missed the entire season. They traded Deebo Kittle's been hurt.

(24:05):
I mean, they just they haven't had anything, and yet
they're a game away from being the number one seed.
So how is he not in the mix for Coach
of the Year. But then you got Ben Johnson, what
he's done in Chicago, right, going from worse to first
in the NFC North. You got Vrabel, who also could
have the number one seed in the AFC in his
first year as a coach. It's all these first year guys,
Liam Cone and Jacksonville took a four and thirteen operation,

(24:28):
made Trevor Lawrence look like a real quarterback, and they're
unlikely to get the one seed, but they're still in
play for the one seed with one week to go.
He's got to be in the mix. And even Seattle's
coach Mike McDonald that that team could be the one
seed in the NFC with Sam Darreld and a really
good defense. So it's just wild that typically at this

(24:48):
point it seems like one or two guys that are
likely to be the Coach of the Year. All five
of those guys, to me, you could make a really
good case. And even I mean the dreaded, hated Sean
Payton I mean Denver could still be the number one seed.
I mean, did they win, and I think New England
loses and Denver's the number one seed, so he'll get

(25:10):
votes too. It's just a I don't know, It's one
of those years. Like last year, Koc seemed like a
pretty obvious pick. I mean, dan Quinn with the Commanders, yeah,
was in the mix. But Koc, with what he did
with Darnold and what defense did, that seemed pretty obvious.
Maybe there were three or four guys all fighting hard,
but this year it feels wide open.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Who'd you give your votes to if you had one?

Speaker 3 (25:32):
Kind of like Vrabel, the fact that it's a huge turnaround,
just how well they've developed Drake May and we knew
that he could be good, and you know, obviously the
Vikings were hot after him, as we know, but the way,
just the level that he's been playing at for this year,
this early in his career, it's hard and to build

(25:52):
an offense around that.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
It's hard to ignore.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
For me.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
When Tennessee fired Vrabel, there were a lot of football
folks that went, really, he's the problem. You think, do
you think that's the guy that deserved to lose his job.
He was always thought of as a really good coach,
great players coach, and you know he brought in the
right coordinator. I mean, Josh McDaniel feels like he's had
eighteen stints in New England and he's the It feels
like just the definition of vanilla. But man, when he's

(26:16):
done with Drake may and help that kid take that
leap in year two, I can't argue with that. I
would stay away from Shanahan just because of the they're
not that far removed from NFC title games, yeah, obviously,
but they've just been so banged up. But Rabel more
so than Ben Johnson, because again, I feel like a
lot of what the Bears have done, I mean, you
can't dispute it that they've been very fortunate late in

(26:38):
a lot of games that they are not fire removed
from a lot less wins. Rabel would probably get my
vote as well. But yeah, it's it's completely wide open.
You're getting trashed on the brush on Brett. I see
that KFA text line six' one two, guy, dude you
are the. Problem new tires will make it feel like
you have four wheel. Drive it makes that big of
a difference And samaritans eight a fine sponsor of this.

(27:02):
Program i'm a longtime, customer not too far from. Here
if from then To Taco, boulevard they hook you. Up
SO i Asked, abbat Ask abbott for you, know maybe
a little bump and pay so you can handle the
new set of. Tires that might be helpful because they're not.
Cheap they're not. Cheap but you, KNOW i got to.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Send word To San. Antonio i'll see what they.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
SAY i may be in the same. BOAT i got
a new. Vehicle my car got destroyed by that hailstorm In. September,
YES i remember. That, YEAH i left it on my.
Driveway my fault garage was full of, stuff you, know
just left it.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
Be It's.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
AUGUST i, Figured i'm going To bloomington for the Weekend.
Indiana what could possibly? Happen come back This sunday night
of the. Hailstore my car is. Totaled SO i found
a used. Car really like, it love driving. It but
after driving these last twenty four, HOURS i may need
to upgrade as.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
WELL i don't.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Know tires look, fine but my daughter drove it last
night up To wiseetta for dinner with some, friends and
she said you, KNOW i don't know if you put
don't drive them in a taka, much but there's a
stretch on one on one where the lake is on
both sides of.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
You between, You i'm not worthy Of. Minnetonka well do
you drive a? Minatanka do you know what part Of?
Minnetaka you just assume THAT i don't.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
KNOW i.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Haven't but you're just saying that's not a road you
would typically pinkies up. Sentence you just said a little,
no it's not a pinky's up.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Statement i'm thinking you probably would take four to ninety
four if you're driving. It not many people will take
one on one. Necessarily it's, lovely but there's a stretch
where you're on a very narrow road where the lake
is on both sides of. You And alice, SAID i
basically almost drove your carent to the lake last.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Night it was that. Slippery and it's not even windy,
really but, yeah it. Was it was that.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Slippery so that made me, Know, yeah tires might be
SOMETHING i might want to look at as.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Well, YEA i will point OUT i made it here
without a. Scratch DID i have to counter? Steer probably
forty percent of the time to get, Here, yes but
we did make it without.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
A, scratch so which is all that really.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Matters, YEAH i was, TOLD i was told in snow
and back and drive as if you don't have. Breaks
And i've lived by that AND i haven't gotten in a.
Collision knock on wood.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Somewhere that's one of those, great those great sayings that
just hold. True LIKE i remember WHEN i first started playing.
GOLF i think it Was who's the dude that? Was
Ben crenshaw's, teacher real famous golf. Teacher he always, said
hold the golf club like you're holding a live bird
in your.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Hands, yeah that's just one of those sayings.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
That stuck with me, forever like AS i taught my
kids to play, golf, like don't grip it too. Hard
pretend you got a little robin in your. Hands that's
how hard you should grip your. Club those sayings are just.
Awesome so that's a good. ONE i don't thank. YOU
i don't know THAT i ever heard that, one BUT
i do like. It i'm not sure whether the six'
one to two text or is, meteorologist guy but he
or she says the roads are horrible because of, the

(29:46):
rain before the snow and with the wind causing refreeze
that was underneath all. The snow they're getting better but.
Still dry. With caution he does say love the show
or she, And go.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Pat go so we.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Appreciate That, harvey pennock thank you. VERY much TP two
k guy Reminds Me harvey pennock will he has this little.
Red book it's a great golf guy that gave it
to all my kids. To read and that's one of
his deals is hold the club like you're holding a. Live,
bird yeah like a wounded bird. Or, something yeah just
you don't want to strangle. A thing you don't want
to just, you know. IT works i just never forgot.

(30:19):
That one if he got great old time sayings, like
that this is the perfect day to.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Hear him let's just roll out. With them let's roll.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Them out if you got one that's been one of
your standbys that you, live by help us out six
four six eighty six ON the kfa an. Text line
let's continue to TALK to nfl and what went down.
Week seventeen we have a pretty good idea of where,
everybody sits but there's lots of question marks. As Well blake,
born out continue to bang it around when we come
back on. The fan, All Right so kevin O'Connell has

(30:51):
just stepped up to the microphone For a vikings.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Press conference we will join. That, Live.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Hey Kevin With miles.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Prices season just what do you remember about going into
this year with a rookie undrafted return when he ended
up showing?

Speaker 4 (31:03):
You, THIS yeah i, can remember, you know when when
uh hat and UH d g came, to me, you
know pre draft and and, you know saved saved some
clips and and and MADE sure i got a chance
to watch him and then talk to him before kind
of that undrafted free agent. Process started and he's he's
been everything we had hoped and more. Back there and

(31:26):
and it was, you know even that return that he
got hurt on the, other day there was a little,
space there and we had talked a lot about not
not only winning the special teams phase in, that game
but but uh, you know had a chance for one.
Right there and unfortunately those things happened from time. To
time but it doesn't take away From anything miles has
been able to accomplish and and feel really strongly about

(31:48):
him and, his future, you know not only just as.
A returner but just as he continues to grow and,
and uh, you know get better and better at the
receiver position and compete to get on the field there.
As well.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
You know, with McCarthy was able to get any work
this weekend.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
At, All, yeah yeah our guys we had a kind
of that group and then a few other guys that
we're able to get treatment and kind. Of progress, you
know everybody's everybody wants to be able to try to,
you know get out there with their guys, this weekend
and it's just going to be a matter OF like
i SAID, with jj it's just going to be a
matter of just purely, you know getting having the grip

(32:27):
on the football and getting that into a place where
he can potentially go out there and and throw It
because i'd love to, get him love to get them
one more one more game. For sure you measure that.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Throughout the week practice or is it just a matter
of the, medical staff, you know kind of putting him
through on.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
The, side yeah it's early in, the week so where
he's at, right now he might be able to progress
to to, you know begin some. Light work we're going To, Practice,
Wednesday thursday friday this week with a little bit extra
time coming off Of a. Thursday game that's the good
thing About the thursday game is when, you can, you
know even though it's a challenging thing late in, the
year especially with your second your second one of, the

(33:06):
season but you get, through that you almost get another
pseudo mini bye week to to turn guys over and
get your football team as fresh. As POSSIBLE and i
think it's just going to be making sure we can,
get him, you know get him at least comfortable enough
to maybe get some work and absorb some of the.
Game plan and then as we Get into Thursday, and
friday what does that look like and if, we can,

(33:30):
you know it's he's he's gotten a chance to get,
some opportunities got a lot of practice. Time in so
it's not quite like it was maybe early in the
year where, you were, you know very aware of of,
you know kind of what that week where he had
the baby, felt like or, you know coming off of,
the ankle getting him some work to prepare him to
come back and, play well which he Did versus detroit

(33:51):
coming off that time. Sitting down so it'll just be
purely you know about that grip strength and where we
can get him to he cannot turn over, with that
who would you Look, at yeah it's, YOU know, i,
think uh, YOU know i think, we're gonna, you Know
get max ready. To GO and I Think john wolford's a,
guy that, you know he's been a snap away you

(34:11):
know here last week and has experience in, the system
and we were really fortunate to be able To Bring
brett ripping back. As Well so i'm kind of looking
at it from a standpoint of let's See where JJ's
at and Then get max ready. To go but at the,
same time, you know we want to make sure we
have all those guys. Prepared it, but like what would
it mean to you to get TO see jja one?

Speaker 1 (34:32):
More time and he's just kind of the.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
Whole, EVALUATION yeah i just, you know it's it's one
of those THINGS where i think we're still, you know to,
YOU know i don't know the. Exact number i'm sure you,
guys do but it feels like he'd be coming up
on maybe his tenth start if he could. Make it
and still we're in that wildly significant time where any
and all reps and experience and, you know another home

(34:55):
GAME At Us, bank stadium like all those things. Are
important you look back at the Film, WITH max i
guess what stood out to you just about maybe how
he was seeing the field and just what you took
from the film. In, GENERAL yeah, i thought, YOU know
i thought he did a really nice job protecting. The football,
you know we were down some guys, up front and
they you know had, their uh, you know they had

(35:17):
their full, you know their full full group in the
front seven there for the better part of. That game
and and, you know there was some there were some
times where, you know could he have pulled? The trigger
there were some things maybe we could, have uh, you
know we could have throw here, and there we could
Have MADE but, i thought, You know max understanding the
way the game was going and having that kind of
veteran feel, of, Like hey i'm going to do what's

(35:40):
required to win. This GAME and i thought it was kind,
of uh, you know we we decided pretty early, on that,
you know seeing the way our defense was playing and
knowing that we kind of went into it hoping that
special teams could book that phase as, a WIN which
i thought. They did, you know we wanted to make
sure we were playing complimentary football and if the plays

(36:00):
came to, us great but we weren't going to force
a lot of things and and do what was required
to win. That game, and it, you know it doesn't
always look the way you want in any way shape
or for him on the. Stat sheet but we've, you
know we've had plenty of games this year where maybe
the stat sheet ended up. Looking better but what was, the, win,
Loss final and and THAT'S where i was proud of

(36:23):
the way he managed. The GAME and i thought that last,
you know a lot of teams maybe wouldn't have thrown
the ball late on that four minute drive where we're
trying to eat up some clock and try to not
give them any and. All opportunities and he made a
great throw to justin, you know made a really nice
contested catch there to to move the chains one more
time and start forcing them to use their timeouts and

(36:44):
and Really diminish that play kind of was a game
winning play on a day where we didn't need a
whole lot of them in the. Past game but for
him to make that play in, THE moment i thought
that was, a big big time Play by max in Terms.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Of packers but if you are if you have watched,
them all what have you thought or what do you
Think of milik will be able?

Speaker 4 (37:05):
To, Do Yeah i've i've most of my time has
been has been spent on. Their DEFENSE but i did
watch the game the Other night saturday, with uh, you
know with uh, you, know, obviously no we're playing those
guys in a little bit bigger picture mindset than just,
you know studying. The TAPE but I think malik. Is
listen every every opportunity he's gone, out there he's done really.

(37:27):
POSITIVE things, i mean he made, some high high. Level
throws his athleticism has always, been real and, you know
you can see a player that has not only, gained
confidence but the game makes sense. To him, you know
he's seeing stuff and pulling and turning, it loose pulling
the trigger thrown into some, tight windows, and uh, you
know pushing the ball down. Field TOO so, i, think uh,

(37:49):
You know malik has grown a ton in his time in,
the LEAGUE and i think he's a really good fit
for for what they're asking him to do. Right now
and you've got to you've got to have a mindset
if he's if he's the guy that ends up being
out there that we're defending a high level offense with
him running.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
The, show kevin there were a couple of reports over
the Weekend About brian flores in.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
HIS future, i guess how would you describe the importance
of having him here?

Speaker 4 (38:12):
Going forward and.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Just have you guys had discussions about?

Speaker 4 (38:16):
His, future yeah, We have and then goes back a
long ways before, those reports, but yeah we've had, recent
dialogue very very. Good dialogue. FLOW knows i. Love him
he was the guy three years AGO that i identified
to to bring, in here and the growth and just
the our relationship and what he's meant to me personally is.

(38:40):
So massive and that's not even taken into account what
he's been able to do defensively for, our team and,
you know been such a huge part of helping, us
daily minute to minute kind of whether the different storms
we had to navigate. This year, and yeah things are
in a really positive place, right now. YOU, know i,

(39:01):
YOU know i Absolutely Want brian flores to to be
the defensive coordinator Of The minnesota vikings as long as
we can, have them, You know and AND and i would,
SAY this i, YOU know i do know that you
know He is he's demonstrated a lot of things that if, you,
know no having gone through the process of the head
coach hiring process, before myself, YOU know i imagine he's

(39:24):
going to be a pretty popular guy there, as well and.
Rightly so he's earned everything and, and uh that doesn't
take away from the route we want to go to
make sure he's our defensive quarter coordinator here for the
for the, Foreseeable. Future kevin it kind of puts a
tangible on what you lose by winning this much at

(39:45):
the end of the season when you don't make. The
playoffs and on the, flip side what what do you
gain by, you know for, NEXT year, i say closing
out with. Five, WINS yeah i think anytime as, an
organization when you get, SEVENTEEN opportunities i just believe you
do everything in your power to to to win every
single one of. Those opportunities and along, the way, YOU

(40:07):
KNOW i i, YOU know i think we're going to
look back on moments throughout the season, where hey it
could have been different, if, If if but our jobs
for this week are to go out there in a.
Divisional game we get a chance to, finish with, you
know a winning record in one of the, you know
most competitive divisions, in Football and i've. SAID this i

(40:29):
said this. LAST week i said it after. The game
december wins are SOMETHING that. I know a couple of,
YEARS ago i talked a, lot about, you know finding
a way to play Better in december and for back to.
Back years now we really HAVE and i think that's
something we can keep stacking. Moving forward but, you know
we we set out on this this journey when we were,

(40:52):
you know the it was in some pretty pretty, dark times.
You know a few weeks BACK and i laid out
the challenge to. OUR team i laid out the challenge
to our coaching staff to to navigate this the. Right
way and we're all going to learn a lot from
it when. We do and and my belief is, we
would and and to, their credit they've they've they've answered

(41:14):
the challenge and we found a way to, you know
stack some wins together for a team that had not
went one back to back games to have won four in,
a row and do it, different ways, do it, you
know with really whatever it takes to win each. INDIVIDUAL
game i think we've learned a lot. ABOUT that i
think we've learned a lot about, you know the makeup of.

(41:35):
Our organization and now we got to make sure we
go do it again this week and against the team
that's gonna be in the playoffs and a Team that
i'm sure will be competing like crazy to go into
go into the playoffs with. A win we want to
go into our off season not only with, a win
but having won five in a row and getting from
four and eight to nine and eight would be would
be something that you know We can it's not going

(41:57):
to count for Much, in january that's, for sure but
it's gonna matter moving forward in. My. Opinion unflow obviously
the head coach situation was an entire one part, Of it,
but like do you anticipate in any scenario where he's
somebody else's defensive coordinator that based upon my dialogue with
him and obviously the enthusiasm and the and the want

(42:20):
too for us to get. SOMETHING done. I DON'T but i,
also know, you know we're we're inside of days before our,
season ends and, he's, obviously uh, YOU know i know
he enjoys. BEING here i, know HIM and i do
you know just from our recent dialogue that he feels
very similar about ME that I that i do, with

(42:42):
him AND and I know i'm excited about the when,
we can, you KNOW hopefully i can come to this
podium and say he's going to be here for as
long as we can keep him here before another team
makes him their. Head, coach thanks.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Thank you viking's Head coach kevin O'Connell several days Following
The christmas day win Over. THE lions i had no
idea that was. Coming today we would have obviously grabbed
that at the. VERY top i think we just missed
a question or Two because, nord's.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Here just like his. Opening, STATEMENT yeah i.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
Think that's what, we DID and I know nordo, has
it so maybe we'll ask him in the during the
break if we missed anything substantial that he. Opened WITH
but i think we got we got THE main i
think questions that we thought we would get, About McCarthy
flores and what this last game means To, the Vikings
and i'd love to play off some of that.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Go ahead but basically the biggest thing we missed in
the opening statement IS that jj, is McCarthy that is,
is progressing and the swelling has come down a, little
bit still leaving open the possibility he could Play Against.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
Green bay that's what that was the big talker in the. Opening,
sting YEAH and i think we heard some.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
Of that, you know it's really important to coach O'Connell
TO get aj one, more day it, sounds like or one.
More game it sounds like the grip strength is the
last main hurdle to make sure he's got enough strength
in that hand To gott grip strength is, a key
key thing to be able.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
To have.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
FOR sure i think it was Cagey of kevin O'Connell
to basically throw out the idea that there could be
any of one of Four, quarterbacks sunday Good Luck green
bay preparing. For, us yeah it COULD, be jj but
it Could. Be max, Then Again john wolford has been
doing everything he needs to do to get, his opportunity
and then, you know We brought brett. Ripping BACK h,
i mean what are the What Is jeff hafley to do?

Speaker 3 (44:33):
THIS week, i mean how are you supposed to scout
and Plan for brozemur and then you get?

Speaker 2 (44:38):
BROUGHT ripping i mean that's the.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
Ultimate nightmare, you know you think you're Gonna see max
and Here Comes john wolford out of.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
The gate what do?

Speaker 1 (44:44):
You do you?

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Start, over well here's.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
The kicker it doesn't really matter at all because all
the vikings to do just run the ball Down the
packers Throat like. Baltimore did it's not gonna, matter anyways.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
SO correct, i, MEAN basically i don't think JJ's grip
strength is going to matter as long as he can
get the ball snap to him and he can, hand
off not just hand. It away just, do that, and
basically don't don't, be, clever like don't, try to, you
know run to the sidelines and then go why just
just go run between the tackles and just we know
our offensive line is not playing at the level we thought,

(45:15):
it would but Against this, packer front, you know.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Basically just they're just going to lay down. For you at.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
This point i'd love to think that we'll see That
The green bay defense we Saw in Denver and chicago
for most of, those games even though, they lost at
least they had some fight. To them so he did
talk about the, quarterback POSITION and i thought it was
kind of interesting that.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
They do feel it's important TO get jj one.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
More start and we talked about five weeks ago the
season's lost at four, and eight BUT giving jj McCarthy
five more starts is really important to see the growth
and give it more experience than the latest injury obviously
knocks all. That OUT so i can understand why in
a what is a, meaningless game and as far as the,
postseason GOES giving jj one more start would be the

(45:59):
ultimate for what the coaching staff would like.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
To see then it Was To.

Speaker 1 (46:03):
Brian flores you know that's that's correct Me if I'm wrong,
vikings fans? ISN'T that I understand jj McCarthy's, you know
growth is, number one but we know he's. Coming back
what we don't know is who is he going to?
Compete against to what degree Do the vikings decide to
bring in quote unquote, legitimate competition meaning a proven guy versus,

(46:25):
you know a young guy that also has shown, some
potential or a journeyman that like A back jones that
you trade a pick for to bring in a guy
that you know can handle it if McCarthy's injured and
could be a nice mentor so we don't. Know that
and obviously the quarterback situation's, number one but right below
That Is brian, flora's, FUTURE right, i Mean losing floras

(46:47):
would be DISASTROUS and i don't. You know i've gotten
a couple of texts that have come, in saying, You
know chicago should open up the. Bank account dallas should
open up the bank account and Bring In brian flores
to run.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
THEIR defense.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
I don't Know that chicago feels like after one Year
Of dennis allen that they're going to. MOVE on i
think the defense needs to. BE better i talked about.
It earlier they've given up forty points three times and
it was very Easy For san francisco. Last Week Funny
green bay was one for five in the red zone
against that defense two, Weeks ago so maybe they're not.
That TERRIBLE but i don't Know that chicago would. Do

(47:21):
It Maybe jerry jones opens up the. BANK account i
don't Know if Schottenheimer and flores have a good vibe,
or not but it WOULD take i would Think For
brian flores to go as FROM one dc. To another
the only way he does, it is, you, know well
this is not the, first reason but comes to my
mind first if the money is, just insane like if
somebody is willing to pay him almost head coaching money

(47:43):
to be to go, Out laterally but it's whether he
goes to a team that has a serious, quarterback situation
they're not.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
Concerned about you Know that dak And.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
The cowboys he knows the offense is going to, be
fine whereas here does it matter to him that there's
still so much question on offense that he would consider
taking a lateral job to an offense that he knows
is Maybe super. Bowl worthy it's his job to turn a.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
DEFENSE around i feel like it's he's not going to
go anywhere unless if he's, the guy if he's the.
HEAD coach I just i don't have no evidence, behind
THAT but i feel like that we've seen that that's
something he wants. To do and if a team comes
calling that he could potentially take over and be the.
HEAD coach i think he could. Consider that maybe he

(48:30):
Would Copyright, corey COVE but i don't think he would
leave FOR another.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Dc job that's just.

Speaker 4 (48:35):
MY hunch i.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
Don't know do you very well could.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
Be right and if a team like Let's, say buffalo you,
Know Who, BOBBY babbage i don't know how. They help
McDermott feels, about him but the defense is, not great
they've been, banged up but he's if He's Got josh
allen on the other side of the ball And a
buffalo team that he could just take that defense and run.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
With it maybe.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
That's appealing it's just so interesting because We Had Kevin
Seaffer don. Sermons yesterday. That's podcastable by, The way seaford
continues to believe it's going to be really hard for
him to get a head coaching job, right now and
again that's mostly because he's currently suing a number of
teams IN, the nfl and when you've got, ongoing litigation

(49:15):
fellow owners might decide that's not a guy we want
to bring into. Our house but also we know how
the Relationship with. Tua went we know he has said
he regrets how that. Got handled on. His end tua
was very frontal about how he was not happy With
How brian flores treated him and maybe slowed his progress in.

(49:36):
His mind so maybe some teams are a little jumpy
still about the strong personality and how he would deal
on the offensive side of. The ball there's no question
he's a top two, or three if not the best
defensive coordinator, in football and what he's done with this
team to maybe have a nine to eight record with
that offense and the issues they've had a quarterback. Is
remarkable he absolutely is worthy of being a. Head coach

(49:58):
but it's a, really weird, say situation in that other
teams just may not be interested in bringing him around
to take over. Their organization so if You're a viking
fan that wants To keep, flores around, you, know selfishly
you kind of love the fact that he may have
cost himself, a chance at least in the. Short run
if that's what, he wants he might be. Thrilled here

(50:19):
he might just say give me another three four year
deal and let me ride with. This TEAM and i BELIEVE,
in KOC and i BELIEVE, in JJ and i know
we're going to get this thing. Worked out so we're
we have no idea obviously what's going on between, his
ears but that seems to Be once viking fans know
a new deals in place and he's going to, BE
here i think a big ex sale from a Lot

(50:41):
of viking fans, for sure. And quickly the final thing
That that kevin O'Connell talked about was just the importance
for him to close out with a Win.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
On sunday, you know we don't think it's going to
mean Anything To.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Green bay we don't believe they're going to play a
number of, key players and we'll chat about that as
We go battlefleur hasn't said anything yet except they're talking.
About it but as banged up as that, team is
momentum is a great thing and you'd love to win
heading into, the playoffs but they're not going to put anybody.
At risk they will air on the side. Of caution
so you're going to Face A green bay team Possibly

(51:14):
With clayton tune, at quarterback If Not malik willis and
a number. Of backups take nothing away from the job
For the Vikings on sunday is to win their fifth,
straight game finished nine. To EIGHT and i mean if
you would have told me a month ago that when
this all said and done and the, Season Ends green
bay is going to finish a half game ahead Of,

(51:35):
THE vikings.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
I have TO say i would have laughed in.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
Your, face seriously the four And eight vikings are going
to finish a half Game behind at, that time what were,
we eight three and one something. Like that it's amazing
how long a season, in is what a roller coaster,
it is and how you can be at the top
of the world one week and just crying crocodile tears
the next. It's, incredible well that was a, nice bonus

(52:02):
A little christmas gift GETTING the koc press conference On.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
A monday would have loved to. Heads up we didn't miss.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Too much nordo saved all, of it so you'll hear
it On various, vikings programming Maybe Even vikings rewind at four,
o'clock today Which Follows, alec lewis who will sit in
a bump's chair for an hour from three, to four
a one hour in. The books the one o'clock hour.
Is next we're a half hour Away From britt robson
to talk All, Things. Minnesota timberwolves BRETT and i are

(52:28):
back to continue to Bang around week seventeen IN the
nfl after these
