Speaker 1 (00:12):
A couple thirteen fourteen past.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
I'm common he's Devin in four ten of the He's
doing a bang up job today too. It's a farm
kit just outside of man Cato oats and beans and Barleo.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I know the area pretty well.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
The difference between us is he's a green guy and
I'm a red.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
He likes their John Deere. I'm international Harvest shirt.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I mean, you know, four doesn't make a bad tractor.
Ford makes a tractor as well. My old man used
to have a four tractor. He just like my dad
had kind of like a hobby farm and forest lake
and he just liked moving dirt around. He just liked
getting in in his four tractor and had the you know,
the the plow in the front, and he would just
move dirt just for the sake of moving.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
When you were with kids, that's that's the that's those
are the toys that we had. You go outside with
one of those you know, graters, and he just move dirt.
We dig up worms and then you'd move ant hills
and that was that was our day.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
It was.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
It was more fun than playing with all these devices
all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
That's the voice of ros In the voice of du yes,
you were to say. I was just going to say
that I.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
Was in a generation where I feel like I got
a good combination of both, like playing outside, because we
would have the BFL, the backyard football leave that's good.
Speaker 6 (01:26):
And that got pretty intense.
Speaker 5 (01:27):
I would have to cut through my neighbor's backyards and
most of them didn't care, and I would get to
the backyard just behind our house and we'd play there.
And then after we had our outside time expired and
got dark and it was time to go inside.
Speaker 6 (01:39):
Then I could play video games deep into the night.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah, you never got an aggressive game of wiffleball? Did
you ever play any whiffleball?
Speaker 5 (01:47):
We had this thing, and it wasn't just like a
standard wiffleball with the regular holes in it. We had
like something called a junk ball where it was there
weren't any like big holes in it, and if you
threw it right, you could put a nasty herve on it.
And I I wasn't much of a pitcher, but the
home run line was just the neighbor's tree line, So
anytime you hit the ball, you were all excited because
(02:08):
he hit the home run. But then everyone's looking at
you because it's like, well, now we got to get
the ball.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
What are you doing?
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Yeah, so all sorts of disaster still on the line.
Or did he just is he just sending him picks?
He sent me his pick, he sent his pics.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
So let's go ahead, hold on.
Speaker 7 (02:29):
Spread swing.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
I couldn't read the chart, tend Tobe said, a chart
with the results, can you make hide nor herrib it?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Because I can't. I just know I'm not in first
place anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
I was to say the end on the side of
the Nebraska helmet stands for knowledge, and I've learned a
thing or two about reading spreadsheets over my time, both
in school and as a rate and financial analystic power
systems engineering. So we'll take a look at last week's results,
and I can't quite hell who what position everyone was in.
I feel that Rosie you were You were in less
(03:06):
and then you haven't moved the needle, and then in
third place it was me. I think I think ten
was in the second, and Pops you were in first.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
But there's been a lot of movement in the standings.
We'll start with the legendary one. Rosie you took the
Kansas City Chiefs minus three, and they beat Indianapolis. They
were down early, but they came back and won with
a game winning field goal from Butt Kerve, So they
won by three U net zero points there. However, you
(03:37):
took the Minnesota Vikings plus.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Six and a half, was ten to six and then
look great, and then they blew it.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
They lost that game twenty three to six, So you
lost ten and a half points on the week, and
you're down to one point on the twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Five to twenty six season.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
You took the.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
Detroit Lions minus ten.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
It looked really ugly for you early on, but they
rallied late and pulled off the victory thanks to a
Jamier Gibbs touchdown run. You only lost three points on
that game. However, your later selection. I believe the Eagles
and the Cowboys. They played in a three o'clock slot
America's game of the week, and America's team got the win.
They pulled off a twenty four to twenty one.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Looked like at twenty one to nothing, looks like it
looked like I was that was going to basically clinch
bread Just sing for me.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Correct here, and then all of a sudden run away
with it.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
The Philly offense just collapsed, which seems criminal with all
their weapons, but they did just that.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Philly was favored by three. They lost by three.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
So you lose six points, you lose nine on the week,
you're down to thirty seven points.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Tenna had himself the best week out of any of us.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
He had.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
He had a nice little week.
Speaker 5 (04:49):
He took Atlanta plus one and a half I believe
against New Orleans. They won twenty four to ten, so
he gains fifteen and a half points off of that game.
He also took San France minus seven points there against
who did Sam fram play I think it was Carolina,
and he got a nice little hit there. They won
by eleven, so he gets four points there. He gets
(05:10):
nineteen and a half on the week. He's got sixty
one points on the season. And I had an all
right week. I took Green Bay. I had the other
side of both of Rosies games, so I took the Packers.
I backed the pack which is criminal, but it worked out.
I gained ten and a half points because they were
favored by six and a half and they won by seventeen.
I also had the other side of that Ksey Indie game,
(05:30):
Indianapolis was a three point underdog. They lost by three,
so I get nothing. So the standing's going into this week.
Tennabe in first place and by one half of a
point in second place. Met Wow, I'm in second place
by half a point. I don't think I've ever been
out of the cellar.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
The numbers.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Not in first anymore.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
No, you're in third place, thirty seven points, third place.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
So he's got thirty seven. My old man does.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
And then Rosie, you are in dead last with one
one point one point, So you're in the you're in
the black. But we're all in the black, and we're
ready to go for this upcoming week.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah, Thanksgiving week.
Speaker 7 (06:17):
Big spring swing.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
I got to go first.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, yeah, you do good for me.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Well, they're coming off of buye and they're playing I
think arguably one of the lousiest teams in the NFL,
and they are going absolutely nowhere. They're playing at home
La Chargers. Uh kind of season on the line? Or
were they nine point favorites?
Speaker 6 (06:40):
Look, I think it's nine.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Yeah, that's that's not bad. I thought it'd be higher
than that. Vegas is disaster, So I think they bounce back.
I think they're coming off the buy and they should.
I mean, I'm looking for a big swing and uh,
you know, like a twenty point plus win. So I'm
going to go with the team that I think is
going to have the biggest advantage in terms of winning
by the most points, and I think that's the Chargers
(07:04):
at home against the Vegas Knights.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
The Vegas Knights, good night, Vegas Knights, Good Nights all right,
minus nine or rosie spread swing.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
That has a slight the way here because I got to.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Go from the week Gottam page to the Motor City
Kiddies page.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
To page to common page, and.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, it's it's It seems like it's either feast or
famine with the kiddies. It's either the Friday football feast
or the Sunday football famine.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
The lines either they do me right or they don't.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Favored at the litter Box and Pontiac by two and
a half over green Bay, which probably seems fair. I mean,
both teams have won games that you expected them to,
maybe even a game they should Well, Detroit doesn't won
a game they weren't supposed to, but they've lost to
some teams that they probably should have beaten, including the Vikings.
I just I mean, I love me some purple, but
I think the line should have won the game. Pittsburgh
(08:08):
or Green Bays lost some games that they should not
have they lost, and those are the Browns.
Speaker 6 (08:13):
Yeah, the Backers lost to the Browns. And I mean
the Kiddies, we just stole one.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Against New York. Or we stole one against New York.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
So I do think, I mean, I don't see any
reason why this will be a blowout either way. I'm not, like,
really really confident that the Kiddies will win, but they're
at home. It's two teams that don't like each other
very much in other division collision, and it's kind of
the bit I gotta stick with it. So I will
(08:40):
take the MotorCity Kitties at the litter box and Pontiac
giving the two that Yeah, that's it used to be
eleven thirty all the time, but it is now it's
knowing neon kickoff.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
That's weird.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
So I will be taking the lines and giving the
two and a half point.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
Yes spread swing.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
For this next matchup, I'm going to take a look
at a quarterback who's been in and out of retirement recently,
who is coaching a youth team for a little while
before he I believe he got fined for uh he
was like buying his players some extra gear, just giving
them the Teddy two gloves. He might get the start
for Tampa Bay Tampa Bay this week because I think
(09:24):
Baker Mayfield's got an injury to his left shoulders, his
non throwing shoulder, And I don't care if it's Baker
or Teddy Bridgewater in there. I think that the Bucks
are gonna come out swing because they were thoroughly embarrassed
against was it the Rams who they just got des by?
And the Rams are really quality team there, maybe the
best team in the NFC, maybe the best team in
(09:45):
football period. The Rams are very quality, and I think
that it's do or die for the Buccaneers. I mean,
the Panthers aren't great, but they're very close behind the
Bucks in that NFC South, So the Bucks still obviously
have plenty to play for. And I don't care if
it's Teddy two Gloves or Baker Mayfield. I think the
Bucks will easily beat the Cardinals. The Cardinals are kind
(10:06):
of a dumpster fire. They've lost like eight of their
last nine. They're just pretty much completely incompetent. So I
will take Teddy two gloves or Baker Mayfield and the
Tampa Bay Tampa Bay Buccaneers minus three.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Oh sorry, spread swing, Devin the honors to me. Did
anybody snipe his pick?
Speaker 1 (10:29):
His first pick? He just got sniped?
Speaker 6 (10:31):
No, his first overall pick.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
There we go, but at the number two for Tenna
Thanksgiving Day matchup, Joe Burrow's back. Oh wow, but he's
not going with Joe Burrow. He's going with the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I like that pick.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
The Bengals are in disaster.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah they are disaster, but maybe they rise to the
occasion with Joey Burrow.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Their defense is gonna let the Ravens rise their point
total like fifty plus. And I don't Higgins is in
is he he might be injured. The Bengals are just
so far gone. They're they're they're done, right. I think
Burrows will rally.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
So Tennebye takes the Ravens and gives the point spread swing.
Speaker 7 (11:22):
No.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Almost, Well, I'm going to go with another kind of
you know, an okay team. If they're one two in
a row and I'm looking at the opponent again, I'm
trying to make up points here, so, uh the Fish.
The Dolphins are at home against the Saints. The Saints
are not going anywhere. Miami's won two in a row.
They're kind of trying to I don't know if they're
(11:43):
trying to save their coaches job or they really care
if he goes. It's hard to say, but two is
looking better. They got they have some offensive weapons, and
I think they wake at three in a row. There's
six point favorites. I think I could easily be a
double digit win and then some. So I will go
with the Miami Dolphins at oh minus the six against uh,
the Saints.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
I'm surprised McDaniel's made it this far.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
I will.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
I thought he was gonna get canned it weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
And now they've kind of rallied, and I don't know
if that's, you know, a good thing or not.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Players Sure, a lot of Miami fans are like, oh yeah, great.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I can't believe in taking Miami. But all right, Rose,
it takes the Dolphins, all right?
Speaker 7 (12:25):
Spread swing?
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Oh what was I going to take.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Hold on?
Speaker 2 (12:36):
I got a dialar pack up. I thought I would
remember Mammy just one second. Thank you?
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Hold On.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
New England seven point favorite over the Giants only seven.
I like the way New England's playing out of the
Giants have been playing a little better. They're cute club
and Jameis Winston's been doing a good job. But I
think New England at home will take care of business.
I think that's a double digit victory for them. I
will take the New England Patriots.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yeah, it's a good pick.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Thanks. I thought you'd think so good.
Speaker 7 (13:11):
Gis spread swing.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Patriots were definitely one of my top choices. I mean,
the Giants, I think are the only team mathematically eliminated
from playoff contention. I'm gonna go with kind of a
weird one for my second pick, but I'm just doing
it because I think it's fun. Because at home they've
been very very strong against the spread. I know that
you know a handful of games. Playing one way doesn't
(13:41):
determine how you're going to do the rest of the season,
but the Browns are four and one against the spread
at home, and should he didn't look lights out electric,
but he played pretty well against the Raiders. Now, I
know the Raiders are a terrible team in a terrible
city with terrible fans, et cetera, et cetera. But I
think the Browns are gonna be a little bit fired up,
and I think should do. Rus Sanders is going to
come out and lead the team to a quality performance.
(14:03):
And more importantly, the Niners looked a little shaky against Carolina.
Did party throw three picks before? He threw a lot
of interceptions? And I think that getting five points. I
think it's going to be a battle either way. I
feel like this one should be pretty close. And you know,
San Francisco they hop on the plane head to Ohio.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
Body clocks or Kadian rhythm.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
This that whether exactly. I'll take the Cleveland brown five thirteen,
give me the Browns.
Speaker 7 (14:35):
Spread swing.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Did tennebe get sniped again?
Speaker 4 (14:41):
No, but he is scraping at the bottom of the
barrel right here. When you lose ten out of your
first eleven games, that's not good. No, no, it ain't.
But Tenn is hopping on the bandwagon. He's taking the
Tennessee Titans against jackson Villets six and a half.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Interesting pick.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Well, you know what, I hope we enjoyed his stay
in first place. So the one one I think he's
about ready.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
To see toward the bottom, I'll approach them and do
saligne very very quickly.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Ape he's got his scuba gear.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
And there you go.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
There's a there's spread swing deuce. Now what you got?
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Am I going a little jog?
Speaker 1 (15:20):
You're gonna go for a run. How far where you
go today?
Speaker 6 (15:23):
Eight to ten issues?
Speaker 5 (15:25):
About six seven six seven six seven miles something like
that sounds work.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Up your appetite for tomorrow, and.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Yeah, there you go, boost the appsit and I'll probably
run again before the great Feast tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Very good.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
I'll run before Thanksgiving and then I'll I'm gonna go
back riding away on thunkskin.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I'm gonna go back to the Washington County license, but
don't get my passport taking care of. I got my
driver's license taking care of today, and I forgot to
bring my passport.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
I wanted to do that as well. I may be
leaving the country destination the country, got to get away.
Another great name for a band. Can't Heat.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Can Heat is a really good name.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
So let's do this all right, that's it, dudes, I'll
see you when you get home. Roses in for another.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
We'll probably do two seventies, but yeah, let's straddle the
forty five. So we'll break now, which would have been
my two fifteen break. Then we'll break at two forty five,
and then Tickets to the Top more with Mark Rosen
after this year on the fan, so I.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Think big tickets out.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Couldn't find a producer to do the three o'clock show,
so I just asked Devin, so if you slip in
a switch at three, and he says, I was just
told I'm done at three, So I.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Have no idea.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Through the magic of technology, Chad Abbit, who's not here today,
he has to go off. I don't know if he's
flips the switch, and by the magic of radio, we
have h you know Fox Sports Radio or what are
some of the westing House or I don't know what
they happen.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Maybe who knows?
Speaker 1 (17:14):
It could be best of.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Well, if we're going to do best of from this
radio station, we're just gonna repeat the same fifteen seconds
over and over and over again. That's about all you
could find. I would think. Man head coach of the
UH soon to be a Big Game World Champion Minnesota
against Kevin O'Connell, addressed to the media today, says still
no decision made yet on who will start at quarterback
McCarthy and the concussion protocol that we participated.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Like in throwing d individual drills.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Ye, so you know, I don't know. If I don't,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I I'm still guessing bros Or plays. But I guess
we don't know that. And because you know, somebody asked him,
I said, is there a drop dead day one of
the media members? Is there a drop dead timeline here
for when you have to make And he said no,
not really, I think, is what he responded.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
So I don't know what they're gonna do to you.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Well, I don't know, but I suspect that Brosman is
going to get the call. If he McCarthy had been
deemed already not having a concussion, which you know hadn't
been established, I think he would have been active in
the in the team drills today and not individual. I mean,
if anyone needs the work every rep he can possibly
(18:22):
get in practice, it's JJ McCarthy right now. So the
fact that he did not participate in that and only
individual drills tells me that everything's pointing towards Max. Bros
were making his NFL debut in a in a very
tough place to play. Although the Seattle Seahawks. For whatever reason,
I've been a lot better team on the road than
at home. It's it's it's a weird thing because they
are obviously contending type team and a very difficult division.
(18:45):
But we know the rest of the storylines in that game.
But I think Brosman is going to get a chance to,
you know, to try to rally the troops and see
what he can do in a controlled fashion to kind
of try to keep his football team in it as
long as possible as a Sammy Darnold slings it against
the Vikings defense. So yeah, I think Brosberg gets to start.
I think at some point, I mean, I don't think
(19:06):
there's any doubt that McCarthy will get back in when
he went healthy, but whether it's I don't think it's
going to be this week. And you know, they go
look at the schedule they have after this, they play, Uh, oh,
they got they got Washington. That's Washington, Washington at home.
(19:29):
That might be a game where healthy then that's one
you know, when McCarthy hasn't had any success at home.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Then they go to Dallas after that, and uh, they
play at New York against the Giants. And your kiddies
come here on Christmas Day, So there's only how many
games left? But I think that could we run the table?
Certainly they could, but they won't. You know, I don't.
I don't. I suspect that most people, given the circumstances,
(19:57):
they would send ripples across the league and certainly internally here.
If if the Vikings were to upset the Seahawks on Sunday, now,
that would take forgetting what Brozmer can do and can't do.
That would take a hurklean effort by the defense turning
the ball over, forcing Darnold to do what happened against
the Rams last year, the playoff game, you know obviously
(20:18):
Brian Florda the Rams this year or Rams this year. Yeah,
but I mean it would take two of those type
of plays turnovers into six points. So the kind of
game they had against the Bengals earlier this year, which
stood out because that's the only one they had where
they ran away with it and their defense was scoring touchdowns,
It's going to take that kind of you know, the
bounce of the ball getting in the interceptions. They only
(20:40):
picked up what still they're still holding it three interceptions
this year It's pretty hard to do that against the
team as powerful as Seattle unless you turn the ball over.
So you know, you wish the best for the kid
and see how he does. The kid he's older than
McCarthy's two years are still in him. But he's only
twenty four.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
They're all kids at that age, well they are they are,
especially when you've never played a pro game. Let me
ask you a question, now, I just let me ask
you this question.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Sure, I know you don't know, nobody can predict it,
but what's your hundred bros were plays? Do you think
he'll be out of scale of one to ten, will
be a one where he's like McCarthy. Do you think
he'll be a ten where he looks like, oh my gosh,
is this.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Kid going to be our franchise quarterback? Or somewhere in between?
Speaker 3 (21:18):
What do you think? Well, I hope it's somewhere in between,
I think more than anything, and that that has a
lot to you look at the game. Even as as
pathetic as that the Vikings offensive game was last week.
You know, when you have a ten to six game
at halftime and your field goal kicker just kicked out
a fifty nine yard field goal, and the Vikings are
in theory in that game until the punt mishap that
(21:42):
turned everything around, and all of a sudden, the Vikings
are down two scores, and that if you're playing a
really good offensive team, that shouldn't be enough to knock
you out of the game, and there are any circumstances.
But for the Vikings, it was I mean it literally
was the end of the game. I mean, the Vikings
could not barely get a first down. Micah Parsons got
unleashed and that was the end of it. I think
(22:04):
the hope is that, you know, the game plan will
be I mean, I was saying somewhat similar to last week,
where they want to run the ball against Seattle, take
some time off the clock, has some controlled passes. I
mean Brozemer's ability to kind of, you know, get the
ball out. I think a little quicker uh you know,
get JJ involved, the Jefferson involved right away, kind of
(22:25):
just move the chains, do the things wrong. I'm not
thinking he's gonna come out their bombs away like Seattle's
probably going to do. But yeah, I mean they're going
to try to make it a game as long as possible,
and Brozemer is going to play in that kind of
you know, methodical I want to call it boring, but
you know, just to turn the ball over, uh, hang around,
(22:47):
make it difficult for Seattle's defense to stay on the field,
you know, keep them on the field as long as possible.
And obviously you don't want to settle for three. And
the Vikings have a great kicker. We know that, but
you know, just it really be nice to see them.
You're almost shocked when the Vikings score a touchdown. It's like,
what just happened? I mean, were you used to watching
him for years, even when the Vikings weren't great, but
(23:10):
they could put the ball in the end zone and
now it's just sort of like it's such a challenge
for them to score that when they do, you're just shocked, Like, what,
they just score a touchdown? So I mean, I think
it still should be somewhere in between. I hope they
don't feed them to the Wolves and they get behind
by a couple of scores and then you know, Brozemer
is going to start doing things that he's not you know,
(23:31):
probably ready for, and that's you know, slinging it around
the yard. But easier said than done. But I guess
this very powerful offense at Seattle as.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
I think he's going to play really well.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Hope you're right.
Speaker 7 (23:44):
It's just a guy.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
This is a hunch. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
He might, he might, he might get pulled in the
first quarter, and they go with who's our third stringer?
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Which is his name? Again, I don't I don't you
know he's the third string guy.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
I just think for Brosmer and I know, look, this
is probably two I'm over simplifying it, but I'm thinking
to myself. He leaves New Hampshire and goes to Minnesota. Hey,
get to play Division one football in my last year
of organized football.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
So I don't think he's thinking NFL. Maybe he was
all along.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
So he plays with the Gophers and then all of
a sudden, the seasons are he gets a call from
Kevin O'Connell says, hey, kid, you know we watched it
play a lot. We've talked to you. We want you
to come to camp and we're gonna give you a
chance to earn a spot.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
He's like, hello, woke, Seriously, how cool is that?
Speaker 2 (24:28):
So he shows up, does well enough where they say, kid,
you have made the club. So now I was with
the team and it's sort of like, now he's playing
with house money a little bit. Hey, I'm in the NFL.
This is cool, and I'm the third stringer and that's great.
And all of a sudden he goes from McCarthy starts,
and all of a sudden, McCarthy's out incomes.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Wins.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Now I've been elevated. I'm the backup quarterback. I'm one
snap away. Now all of a sudden, it looks like
they're gonna let you play. It's like, yeah, it's a
tough place to play it all that, but it's like,
this is cool because I don't think he and maybe
I'm maybe he had this idea he was going to
play in the NFL someday.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
And he was gonna get a chance. But I gotta
think it's like, this is really cool.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Now.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
That doesn't mean it's going to alleviate any butterflies or
nervousness or that you know, he'll be The kids used
to say, what Jedi Knight?
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Where he does?
Speaker 5 (25:18):
You know?
Speaker 1 (25:18):
There's right, he sees everything and there's noth that fools of.
But I just think he's gonna and.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Here's the thing, apparently he can throw the ball a
little bit, and he can throw and he gets rid
of the ball quickly. McConnell's made a point. So with
all that going for him, maybe he just goes in there.
I would hope that the head coach just says, just
go have fun, just go wing it, throw the ball around,
you know, just do whatever you do, and maybe he
(25:43):
plays really well and sparks the team.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I get the feeling.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
I'm not saying that the other players on the team
don't like McCarthy and don't wish him well and want
him to evolve.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
And be the starting quarterback.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
But I think it's got to be a little bit
of a load off of a weight off of them two.
It a go boy, it's we got a different kid,
a different chance, a different look.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
See how it goes.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
You might get your wide receivers thinking a little bit
like that.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Ye I don't know.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
I just I think he's gonna I just think he's
gonna play well.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
I like the way you think, and I hope that
it's just not when I talk about the kind of
conservative game plan that that witens me approach it. At
the same time, I think it would be really refreshing
if you know, let the kid air it out a
little bit. You got justin Jefferson and Jordan Andison who
are very capable of beating the Seattle defensive backs, and
it would be nice early in the game to at
(26:28):
least give it a shot, you know, just throw a
great fly pattern down the sidelines and maybe it could
be past interference or don't be too protective of what
they're trying to do. What have you got to lose
right now? You're not going to make the postseason unless
they don't lose a game the rest of the year,
and that there's no guarantee that would even get you in.
(26:49):
So you know, let the kid kind of feel his
way through it and and don't be ashamed are afraid
to get Jets involved. You get arguably one of the
top two receivers in the game, just hasn't been able
to play at that level this year. Put the ball
of them, you know, to get some time early on. Hopefully.
It sounds what koc here listening today that both Donovan Jackson,
(27:12):
christ and Darris will play. They're both coming back from injury,
so they didn't practice today. But this key to any
Brozemer's success. Have a lot to do with having those
two guys in the lineup, getting that offensive line intact
as it was at the beginning of the game against
the Packers last week. But I think from a fans perspective,
(27:33):
there's certainly going to be an It's crazy to think
everyone was so excited about jjmer and everyone, you know,
see what JJ McCarthy's got after missing all of last year,
couldn't even practice, and now it's like, whoa, let's see
what this kid's got from Minnesota opening up an opportunity
for him to play on Sunday against a really good
football team. But there's an intrigue, there's a there's an
(27:54):
interest level, I think from the fan base to see
what Brozeman can do because they watched them in the preseason.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Well, and what's interesting is we played for the Golden Gophers.
But I didn't realize he went to Centennial High School.
I'm told so he's from line O Lakes and we
didn't even know that our Circle Pines. Actually, let's take
a break, come back, one more segment to go a
short one here with the common Devin named for Tennabe
and the legendary Mark ros And here on the fan
(28:25):
final segment on the GROM only a couple of minutes here.
I'm common Devin, Thank you so much for Len and
for Tennabe. Have a great Thanksgiving down near man Cato
out on.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
The farm, you too.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Legendary Mark Rosen is here as well. Wild Tonight face
the black Hawks. Black Hawks near the bottom of the
whatever division. They're in central, mid central, Midwest, whatever it is,
and they've been the hottest team in November I think
nine one or ten one in one.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
So brick Wall up there in goal.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
We call the Wallstead.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yeah, I and I have no reason to believe we
won't win, so go Wild.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
It doesn't seem to matter who's in goal. They flip flop.
John Hines was talking about that, whether it's Wallstead or
the gust Bus and the team and some of the
young players, and they're still going to be missing a
couple of guys that are keep down the road but
are encouraging when you start shutting people out the way
they are and playing at this high level, and you
got bolding and capriso of if leading the charge offensively.
(29:18):
So they got tonight's game and then it will be
a highly anticipated game on Black Friday. Friday afternoon at
Grand Casino Area Arena, hosting the almost unbeatable Colorado Avalanche here.
So that'll be I think a two o'clock game. So
that'll be a very festive occasion over there by Rice Park,
and everyone will be post Thanksgiving Turkey, going to going
(29:40):
to watch a while host Colorado.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Tonight, your Wolves club is on the road. They take
on Oklahoma City. Poised, polish professional, they played with the
purpose defending Champs seventeen and one. They take care of business. Meanwhile,
the Wolves winning record all of their wins of calm
again's teams with losing records all their losses save the
last game, but all their other losses have come at
(30:03):
the hands of teams with winning records.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Oh, we were talking off here about this.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
I would just like, you know, obviously like to see
a win, but just a real professional performance, start to finish.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
No dog in it.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
No, the other team had more effort, no blowing games,
lazy passes, turning the ball over late in the game,
missing free throws, play a solid game, push the thunder
to the limit, and they should be able to win
the game. I mean, you know, it's not against the
law to beat the exactly the Oklahoma City thunder.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Well, and and you know this goes back. Obviously they
faced them the Western Conference Championship last year. But the
teams have you know, taken off on a different level.
And okayc has not slowed down. They're just accelerating in
the way they approach the game with their ten man rotation.
The Wolves, I saw Mike Conley in particular, called a
not a players only meeting, a player's only dinner last night.
(30:58):
Ok Okay, they were on the road, so and I
heard Chris Finch. I didn't hear the particular sound bite,
but he apparently took the blame for the last two
losses that he just didn't coach as well as he
needed to. And I wouldn't disagree with that. I thought
he made some calculated mistakes. I still feel, like I
said it the other day, I don't think Kim Comley's
gonna sit on his hands. I don't know what trigger
(31:19):
they're gonna pull, but they need a point guard and
that in order to compete at the highest level, not
just against okay See, but against Houston and Denver in particular,
those three teams. I just think the Waves are too stagnant.
They're too disorganized offensively, especially at the end of games
against these better teams to maintain this throughout the season.
(31:42):
So I you know who they're going to trade for.
How they're gonna make this work salary wise, I don't know,
but I just I don't see the patience level maintaining
itself too well. But I'll see if they have some
fun and I maybe steal a game against okay Se.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Do you think they ate at Milo, at the Ellison Revolutions,
Lower Bricktown, Mary Eddie's Italian Grill or the Old Spaghetti Factory.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Oh, I don't think it was the Old Spaghetti I
don't think so at the higher level of that.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
I have yourself Thanksgiving and we'll see you next Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Right, we will be discussing all that happened over the
long weekend.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Devin, thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Thanks Devin. Yeah, thanks for having Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
We've had that's it's been our pleasure. I enjoy the rest.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Of today and then of course of Thanksgiving Day weekend.
