Speaker 1 (00:00):
That's the national treasure, the voice of the Vikings box
in the box, and.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
That's your montage for the day fire the Genies lamp.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I'd rub it, she'd pop out, She'd say, Master, we
have three wishes. My first wish would be for three
more wishes, and I have five. Then I would use
my next wish, and whish was seven fifteen. I've been
waiting all day for Thursday night. It's a big one tonight.
Regardless of what night you play, Monday night, Tuesday night,
Thursday night, Sunday night, they're all big at this time
of the year.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Brett Lakemore in for tennebe.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Finally, after all these years, the master control supervisor on
a weeknight game actually gets the daytime job off.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
They've always he's always.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Had to work double duty, do the old work noon
to three, go hit a bucket of balls and come back.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
And now he has it off to Brett Lake. Moore's
in and I know you're disappointed.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
You first thing you said to me when you saw
me was but there's a lot going on out there,
a lot of things to talk about.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
You so badly.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Wanted wheel a topic. Can I apologize? I just didn't
have the opportunities about a lost The morning I was
at paul He's automotive picking up Deuce's jeep.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Deuce had to have some of them. You had to
have the fifty thousand mile check up. You know where
you do? You know what differential fluid is.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
It's very different differential fluid.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
A front and back had to be that you have
to siphon it off and put new stuff in. Whether
you really need to do those things or not, I
don't know, but that's what it says in the manual.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Is that related to the calculator.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
It's well, no, the calculator works fine. The calculator is
in a good spot. And then we have to do
what else did we have to do? We had to
put a new cabin filter, air filter, and and so
Deuce is working. He's working the old eight to five jobs.
So I don't want him to have to drive all
the whey over to Paul. He's got the loaner car.
It's an old Saturn station wagon from like nineteen when
(01:59):
did they stop making sadat Can you look up saturns?
I mean this thing we call it the honeywagon. It's
this it's almost like a caramel brown with brown interior.
It has almost three hundred thousand miles on it, but
because it's the mechanics loaner car.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
It runs like a top.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I bet it runs as good as any car out
on the road today. Not my favorite car to drive.
I mean, it's it's an eye sore and it's probably
one of the oldest cars on the road. And I
had to drive it yesterday and today, and I want
Doucetaff to go over there, so I being a good
dad that I am, and I only work three hours
a day, so I did that.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
So there is no wheel of topic today. Look up Saturn.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Sad really well, there's the brand Saturn, but then there's
that's what I'm talking about, a Nissan Saturn. So the
brand Saturn was done in twenty ten, twenty ten.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
This, yeah, this thing looks like it was nineteen hundreds,
like nineteen ninety eight, and I should try to find out.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Could be it's got over.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
It's got almost three hundred one hundred, one thousand miles
on it, but it runs like a top. So yeah, so,
but uh, you never know when we might stick a
tea in the ground again, Is it over? It's pretty no, no, no,
it's it's never over until they say the courses are closed.
I mean for me, and because of my work schedule,
(03:24):
oftentimes I can't play in the morning because if there's frost,
they don't allow you out on the golf course because
it it uh temporarily damages the turf, kind of kills
the grass. Black footprints appear everywhere, and it takes three
or four mowings for the black footprints to to to
to typically just typically to disappear and there's no more mowings,
(03:46):
so they would stay like that.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
They don't want you to do that.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
So that's why daylight savings time is important for me
because ten o'clock actually becomes nine o'clock, if that makes sense.
And generally speaking, the frost will lift at nine and
with the card I can play in two hours because
all I do is hit, knocked on, punch cutte dross.
But that's for another day. We're well done in the montage.
I think the song you selected.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
It fits.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
I think it is urgent. You know, you like to
think that seven week seven, your seventh game of the season, that.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
It's not it is not do or die, but.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
It's getting pretty close to that I mean Green Bay
top of the division four one and one, Detroit percentage
points behind at five and two. They have a bye,
and the Vikings played Detroit next week. The Bears of
all things, they're they're four and too, so they were
(04:51):
ahead of the Vikings. The Vikings aren't dead last place
in the NFC North. If the playoffs started today, I
think the Vikings would be le out in the cold.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
I think they right now are, but they have.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
The eleventh best record in the NFC, which wouldn't qualify
for postseason play. Uh so, yeah, this becomes extremely important
against another team that's a bit on. I don't know
if the Chargers are probably feeling a bit of desperation
as well. They started out three and oh. Since then
they're one in three and their one win was over
lowly Miami and that was by a mere two points.
(05:28):
So they've been struggling as well, despite the fact that
I think most folks after after San Diego's they had
a solid season under Harbaugh last year, and they obviously
with their start this this season at three and oh,
I think a lot of people included myself though, well,
maybe it's finally time for the Chargers to be a
factor in the AFC. I don't know if there'll be.
(05:48):
It was it was writ Rat wrote today. It may
have been sou Han who wrote the piece about and
he I don't think he believed there would be any
you know, Jim Harball with because he interviewed for the
Vikings job, and.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I think we all.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
If you think back to that time before they hired O'Connell,
I think Harbaugh kind of thought the job was his.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
It was just it was a formality and he didn't
get it.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
So if there was bitterness there, I don't think Harbaugh
doesn't seem to be the type of that he cares
about that, certainly not three years past. He's just trying
to get his team of victory. Here's what he's trying
to do. So and then without McCarthy playing, there's no
you know, McCarthy against his former college coach, So I
think those stories will be rather meaningless. It's just two
teams that definitely need to win, and Vikings again will
(06:38):
go with wins and we'll see how it goes. We'll
talk more about it as the day progresses. As a
matter of fact, we'll talk a bit more about it.
On the other side, of the break with peak at
the purple five three four top of the hour. I'm
sure Brett Lakemore is put together a few questions for me.

(08:38):
You see a microphone icon corner of the screen. You
got thirty seconds or less to deliver us a message.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
And then there's the old reliable bratch On Bryant CAFAN
text line at what is it?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Six four six eight six Is that because I I've
said it so many times, but I remember cause it
used to be used to read it off the whiteboard,
which no longer exists. In here, this text message says
fifty thousand miles, while so do the work yourself fifty
thousand miles. I would think there wouldn't be much service,
Although that would be a real common man. I've never
(09:17):
owned a vehicle with that a few miles. My three
cars have seven hundred thousand between them. Okay, I don't
do my own mechanics work. I help the economy. Mechanic
has to work, right. I mean by that, should I
(09:38):
grow my own food in my backyard, have a couple
head of cattle back there, and carve up my own beef?
Speaker 2 (09:47):
I mean there are some things you just pay for.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I could change ail in my car if I had to,
but I don't need to. So again, if you want
to work on your own car, not yourself. I mow
my own law and I could hire out for that,
but I enjoy.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Mowing the law.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
You engineer your own radio show. I engineer my own.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Radio shows when I'm on the road. When we do
tee to green. I do my own fall clean up
in the yard. I could hire out for that. There
are some things I enjoy doing and don't mind doing.
Plus my mechanics my cousin. I like to help them out,
so I'll do it my way.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
You do it.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
And then there was a couple more quick ones. This
one said, you said, do this has a jeep? Does
he ever get ducked? It's a jeep thing where people
put little ducks in your dashboard. I'm well aware of that.
I drove a jeep for a long time. You wouldn't understand.
It's a jeep thing. He gets ducked occasionally. He has
a few of them, but not as many as a
(10:52):
lot of other people. This one says, to your boys,
know how to drive the six speed manual transmission Cadillac.
I don't own it anymore. It finally was on its
last leg. I blew out the clutch again. I decided
I just didn't want to keep pouring money into it,
and so it no longer exists, at least in my household.
But I was teaching Duce how to drive a six
(11:13):
everybody should know. How can you drive a manual transmission stick?
I cannot really everybody should know because let's picture if
you will, you are, you and your gal are. That's
some desolate farmstead and there's a guy with a hockey
mask and a chainsaw chasing you. And inside the shed
(11:36):
there was a manual transmission car. It's your only escape
because you don't know how to drive when you would
get cut in half with a chainsaw. But if you
knew how to drive one, you would be able to escape.
You never know when you're gonna need to be able
to driving a manual transmission is it's actually drive. Until
you've driven a manual transfer, you've never really driven a
(11:59):
car because it just getting behind it and dropping it
and reverse back and up put it in a drive
and going. I mean it's convenient, and I I for
every day in city driving. That's probably the best way
to go because I will tell you, you know, but
I if you'd like to drive, and I'm a I'm
a graduate of the Skip Barber racing school, so I
(12:21):
enjoy driving. I think it's uh. I think it's it's
fun and it's it's it's skill. I think everybody. Of course,
you don't need to have it because you might not
ever be in a desolate Farmstead being chased by a
man on a hockey mask. I'll avoid with a change,
So I do the best you can, because it's happened before.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
You've seen it in the movies, true stories, those kinds
of things happen. And then.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Finally, this one says, good luck spinning this game. Common
LLL bikes will get destroyed. Yeah, I mean, if you're
asking me for prediction, I think, yeah, I think San
Diego wins tonight. I'd rather the Vikings when it's good
for business, it's good for the fan, and I like
the purple, you know. I mean, I was born in
(13:04):
detroitum align. You can, like we've explained it before, you
can like more than one team. I don't think it's
San Diego is not playing very well either, so I
don't think it's a given that the Chargers will win.
I think in order for things to go right for
the Vikings, they need a better performance.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
From Wentz this week.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
And what they really need is for the defense not
to allow a perfect quarterback rating again. They Jalen Hurts
had never had a perfect quarterback rating in his career,
and he had a perfect one P fifty eight point
three or one fifty three point eight whatever it is.
You can't do that. I mean, he had four passes
of twenty plus yards. You can't allow that to happen.
(13:43):
Herbert can do the same thing and they will eat
you alive that way. So if the defense can prevent
a quarterback from having that kind of a quarterback rating
and your quarterback can play a little bit better, I
think they'll be.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
In the game.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Yeah, it doesn't look good right now. And then what's
even worse is the way Detroit's playing.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
You have to go. You have to go to.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Pontiac to the litter box next week. And that Lions game,
I don't know if you watched it, that was pretty impressive. Now,
Mayfield was thrown. He was doing a lot of Josh
Freeman type throws. He was doing what Sam Darnold did
last year against Detroit or in that final game of
the regular season where the Vikings had a chance to
get the number one seed he overthrew three or you
(14:25):
know he I mean it was like he was trying
to throw at kream Abdul Jabbar or Victor Wembin Yama.
I mean the balls were three or four feet above
the wide receivers hands but Detroit they had practice squad
players starting in the secondary, players that had never seen
real action in a National Football League game, and they
(14:45):
they held Tampa Bay.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
To nine points.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
And a lot of it was the pressure that the
Lions were able to provide, you know, rushing the quarterback.
But that was as I was as surprised as anybody
by that performance by the Lions defensively, because that was
they were achilles last year when they lost so many
players to injury. The reason they won fifteen games, though,
was because they outscored everybody thirty five thirty or forty
(15:08):
one thirty seven. They just kept out scoring them. They
they their offense was wasn't Tampa's got a sneaky defense.
They're pretty good and they gave Detroit some trouble other
than Sonic was really good. But anyway, regardless of what
happened in the Detroit kame this game, the Vikings lose
(15:31):
here and then you have Detroit, the Ravens game doesn't
look as bad anymore. And it's that's here, I think, yeah,
it is. So the Ravens game is here, and the
Ravens are just terrible right now. I Mean, it's almost
as if they've just completely given up. Matter of fact,
you heard the coach took out the ping pong table.
They had ping pong table, video games? What else did
they have in their corn hole? They just treated it
as you know, I think they were a little they
(15:55):
were like fat cats getting slaughtered. They thought they were
a little bit better than they were.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
But anyway, I don't know Kings have their hands for
I don't understand the text saying good luck spinning this
game comment. I didn't know you were known for spinning
the vikings. Yeah, I rarely do. I mean I have.
I think some people they because of.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
What's happened since the beginning of the season with a
quarterback situation, they think that I'm anti McCarthy and pro Wentz,
and it's it's really neither.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I just don't think McCarthy was so bad.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
I'm afraid to watch him play play again, and at
least with the wins. Well, you know, he was two
and one going into last week's game, and last week
he just wasn't very good. So yeah, it's there's a
lot to be desired at the quarterback position right now,
and I don't know if Wentz will be any better tonight.
They need him to play better than he played against.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
But the defense, I know, the defense surrendered twenty one
points to the Eagles, but.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
There were critical plays.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
In which the Vikings could have got off the field,
including that very last possession for Philadelphia where the Vikings
had him on a third nine. They stop him, they
get the ball back and the letter wide receiver he
was opened behind h zay J no zay Roj. He
was a he was ten yards behind him. You can't
allow that to happen in the National Football League. You'll
(17:27):
hear the game in this radio station coverage. It five

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Brett Blake Moore. Viking Football tonight on this very radio station.
Our coverage begins at at five, So a condensed version
of Bumper to Bumper today at the opening kickoff set
for seven to fifteen vikings against the.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
San Diego super Chargers.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Quick text message before we tell the little Timberwolves basketball
they started the season with a victory.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
They're on pace to go eighty.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Two and oho, it says, and listen to all the
radio shows today, you think the Vikings were oh and six.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
How do they even win three games? Has there been
a lot of negativity?
Speaker 1 (19:25):
I mean there's only been There's only been two other
radio shows on. I don't think it's I don't think
I'm going on on a limb to predict the Chargers
winning tonight at home. And I didn't guarantee you win.
I didn't do a Joe Namath. I think the Vike
sence ken win. I said. I think what they need
(19:46):
to do is it's pretty simple. The quarterback needs to
play better than he did last week, and they can't
allow harbaught at the same quarterback rating Jalen Hurtz diinner.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
They will get beat.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
They will probably get crushed if they do that. Have
to remember, too, the Vikings three wins have not been
I mean the Bears again, they just pulled the fat
out of the fire. Right they were they were they were,
they had been given up for dead, and then it
was with that one great fourth quarter by McCarthy, which
can't take that away from him.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
It happened.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
And who else do they beat? Did they beat Cincinnata
without Joe Burrow. That was their best game. They destroyed
the Bungals, I mean absolutely destroyed them. It was so
bad that Cincinnati went out and got a different quarterback because.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Who was a kid back and who was who started?
What's his name again? Brownie? He was just awful. I mean,
Brownie was simply awful.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
And a lot of that had to do with the
Vikings defensive scheme and what they did.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
But I mean, that's so again that it's a nice win.
It's it's good.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
And then their other win was against did they beat Cleveland? Yes,
and you know, okay, Cleveland's okay, but it's like, yeah,
it was. It's not like they knocked off Detroit Green
Bay in Kansas City, So there's some doubt out there. Yes,
and if the text messager, I mean, he obviously he's
(21:06):
a Vikings fan, I think, and he's very excited about
tonight's game and they could very well win, and I certainly.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Hope they win, but that remains to be seen.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
The Wolves did win last night. He opened the season
at Portland with one eighteen one fourteen victory. Ant was offensively,
he was spectacular forty one points.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
I don't know if his back spasms.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
I don't know if this is on the same level
as Willis Reid, but still apparently he has back issues,
but he was able to overcome them. David Hines is
the team's vice president of medical operations, and there's a
store in the Fisher ret factory today. Edwards calls him,
is it I'm not I never watched Karate Kid?
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Are you a Karate Kid guy?
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Is it think I've seen the original once?
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Mister Miyaji Yagi is ilay, said mister Miyagi in reference
to Pat Morita's character Karate Kid.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
He said, how did you pronounce his name? Yagi? He said,
after mister Miyagi did a.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Couple of things on my back, I was good to
go forty one points, ten of those in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
And he hit a step back.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
You know.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
That was one of the things that I think the
Wolves wanted.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
The Wolves wanted to see another step in Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Game.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
They wanted to see some things add which I'd been
asking for for a long time and got criticized by
Wolves fans telling me that I don't understand basketball, that
I'm a I'm a casual and that ant is the
best player in the league, and you should just leave
him alone. He lives rent free in your head. Then
the team themselves said, no, he needs to develop a
step back. He needs to play better defense start to finish.
(22:54):
He needs to be more engaged in the game from
start to finish, which is all I've been asking about
all this time, because he's he's a terrific talent. He's
a top ten player, maybe even top five, and he
showed it last night.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
He was very good.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
In clutch time last night. In five minutes, he had
ten points. He was four for foreign field goals and
two for two from three point range.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
He where were his other numbers?
Speaker 1 (23:22):
What did he he had?
Speaker 2 (23:27):
I can't find them now.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
But.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Number of rebounds, some assists he played? He played a
really he played a really good game.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Well, what was interesting is people seem to be very
surprised that Steven Scenzo started at point guard. And you know,
Mike Conley, the veteran, was thirty eight years old. No
one expects Mike Conley to play forty eight minutes anymore.
If he can play, I think I read where they're
hoping to get mid thirties out of him. So they're
(23:58):
going to have to share the point guard position, and
most thought it would be with Rob Dillingham. I don't
think did I read that right? Did Dillingham not see
the floor at all last night? And it was that
injury related or just coaches decision? Did not play? I
don't see, because you know, if you'll remember, the Wolves
(24:19):
moved up in the draft to get Dillianham, was any
of the eighth pick overall? He was I think, supposed
to be the heir apparent at the point guard position,
and you know he didn't play. It's not you know, again,
who knows coach's decision. I don't know if it's anything
we should you know, there's anything mysterious about it, or
(24:42):
if there is anything that we should be alarmed by.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
But I didn't think he'd played more.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Evencenzo I guess was okay, but he had a number
of turnovers.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
I just don't know if.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
He's the guy you want me and you're starting point guard,
maybe you do, maybe you don't. But they win, and
that's what's important. Gobert had followed trouble early the Wolves
again um says here Finch hopped to start Deevincenzo in
(25:18):
place Edwards had forty one. The Wolves had nineteen turnovers
last night, and again they got sloppy.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Rudy Gobert picked up two fouls.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Less than five minutes into the game, and when Jaden
Daniels went out to rest, the Wolf struggled in the
first quarter. The Wolves just might have any issues with
some Portland full court pressure. Also hit eleven field goals
to stay within thirty five thirty three after one, and
Edwards had eleven. So it was a back and forth
game and the Wolves end up ended up morning. But
(25:48):
it says after staying in the preseason, his rotation may
go as deep as ten.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Finch did go ten opening not night, but not the ten.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
People many have thought the odd man out was Rob Dillingham,
whether that was just here's the final line for thirty
nine minutes, fourteen for twenty eight from the floor, five
for ten on three seven rebounds, one assist, forty one points.
That's a nice opening night line. You'd like to see
a bit more on the assists maybe, but sometimes there
(26:17):
that's just not available that night.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
But that's that's a nice start to the season for
the uh for the hometown five. So they.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
I you know again I started to try to. I
had the game on at nine. You know, we talked
about late starts. I was there right at nine o'clock
when they were getting ready for the opening tap.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Next thing I know, it's.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Nine fifty and there are they're deep into the second
quarter already.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I missed the first part of the game. I watched
a couple of minutes.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
It's just the seasons for both for the three of
the four, I mean, all the seasons are long. They
all run about six months. We talked about to the
at least with the NFL is just once a week,
and it's usually a noon game unless you have the
Thursday night or it's easier to stay up. But I
just there's so many NBA games, and so many NHL games,
and so many baseball games. It's hard to even become
(27:13):
engaged for me to watch each and every game start
to finish.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
But good for the Wolves, nice start to the season.
It's going to be a We talked about this a
little bit yesterday.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
I think I think for me, you know, seeing some
additions to ants games one that's great. I think we
need Randall to play for an entire season like he
did the last twenty five games last season. I don't
know what the point guard position is going to bring.
I don't know de Vincenzo is going to be the
guy or Commony's going to be the guy. If they're
going to work dilling.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Ham in, I think they need to do that.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
But more than anything, I just don't want to see
him give away games like they did last year.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Now, full truth be to.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
The games they let get away against inferior teams that
were inexcusable to be honest, I mean they were losing
the teams that had won you know, ten twelve games.
It cost them a second or third seed. Despite that fact,
even with a sixth seed, they advanced to the Western
(28:22):
Conference Finals for the second year in a row. So
the seeding process can be a bit overrated, it can be.
That's proof positive right there that even if you are
I don't think you want to get involved with that
made for TV playing thing. That's silly garbage. But if
you know, because then you have to play extra games,
and then then you're at the women fancy of just
(28:43):
one guy getting hot on another team and beating you,
and all of a sudden you go, well, we should
have been a force seed. We never should have been
in this seven, eight, nine, ten thing. And then we
get upset because we ran into one guy and the
other tier two guys that were hot. We had two
of our guys that weren't, and now we're eliminated. So
you don't want to put yourself in that situation. But again,
(29:06):
if I would, that's what I.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Want to see more than anything.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
It's just don't don't lose to You're you're gonna occasionally
lose to an inferior team.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
That's kind. But the Wolves seem to do it on
a on a fairly.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Regular basis last year, and it just got to the
point where it was more than annoying, it was maddening,
and it's like what are you doing? And it was
and then and then the worst part was is what
they'd say after the games. A team just tried harder
than we did. Really, just they tried her. So one
(29:37):
thing you can control is your effort. If you want
to tell me the other team just had a scheme
that was better. They had a guy that got red
hot and you didn't know what to do to him.
But to say that the other team came out and
tried harder, I mean that's an indictment on your effort.
It's like, what do you you Money's pretty good. I
(30:01):
want to give it everything you got. You only play
eighty two games a year, and a lot of you
guys are getting load management days off.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
You're not even playing a full game.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Nobody's playing forty eight minutes in the NBA anymore if
they ever were playing forty forty two, maybe thirty six,
depending upon who you are, where you are in your career,
and how important you are to the club. I'm going to.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
Minutes at ant play last nineteen thirty nine, thirty nine.
So again, thirty nine.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
I don't know if that's average NBA for for your
best player, but that means he didn't play eleven minutes.
So and I'm not saying they have to play forty well,
I'm saying, is I give you can give it the
old college drive for an entire game, instead of saying, oh,
they tried harder.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Than we do.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
So if we can eliminate, if we can pick up
the try hards, if AMP can you know, he said,
in order to keep his he's going to come up
with games in order to keep his interest level up.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
He's going to try to go for career highs.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Maybe he'll play horse, maybe he'll try to just hit
shots from different parts of the court.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Maybe you'll try to make shots standing on one foot.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
But if that's what keeps him engaged and keeps him
playing and giving it everything in Scotts, so we don't
let these games slip away, I'm all for it. It's my club.
I like the Wolves. It's another Wolves note.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
I had you asked me about it.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
I've had several people uh uh send text messages and
we're going to address it. I think during the five
to three for the the the sports betting mafia backed
poker and it's Chauncey Billups has been is in the
(31:48):
thick of this thing?
Speaker 2 (31:49):
And another is it Rose Yer? Is he part of
this too? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (31:54):
And another coach and former player and others are involved
and in a scale handle where they were prop bets
and poker and fixing this and fixing that.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
S it's a massive as the headliner that I mean, says.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Bill Ups, and Miami heats Rosier charging sprawling sports betting
and mafia backed poker schemes. The head coach of the
Portland Trailblazers and a player for the Miami. He were
arrested Thursday, along with more than thirty other people in
two criminal cases alleging sprawling separate schemes to rake in
millions by rigging sports bets in poker games involving mafia families.
(32:38):
Almost sounds like a sounds like a hey, who's the
producer I'm thinking of movie producer, score sase Sounds like
a score sasey plot.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Or something like that is what it sounds like.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
So more on that will, uh, will take a deeper
dive into that coming up.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
You're who do your Packers club have this week?
Speaker 3 (33:06):
They have the Steelers Sunday night.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Oh that's right, it's the Sunday Steelers game. You're, uh,
I think your team's in trouble. I do too, actually,
and I'll tell you why. I think Green Bay is
probably a better team game in game out. But you know,
Aaron wants this one more than he's ever wanted a game.
He wants to beat the Not just because he wants
to beat him doesn't mean he's going to beat him,
(33:28):
but he's gonna be right. And you know all the guys,
these all these football players, they look for extra motivation, right,
and they're going to rally around Aaron.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I'm sure Aaron's talked to him about it. I should
like to beat that club.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Remember when they beat the Jets, when he said I
was just nice to show that organized. There's some people
in organization didn't think could play football where you always
sticking the same thing with Green Bay. I think now
that doesn't mean no win just because you want to
win and just because you have a chip on your
should But I think the rest of the guy there,
the Steeler are going to treat this lest the biggest.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Game of the season, I think.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
And that doesn't guarantee they'll win, but I I and
it's in Pittsburgh. I get the sneaking suspicion. Pittsburgh's probably
gonna win this game.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Yeah, I agree, I as much as I hate it. Yeah,
the secondary got diced up and couldn't get off the
field against Joe Flacco twice and last week Jacoby Weressett.
And now you've got the best thrower of the football
probably of all time, even I mean Brady has said that.
So you have that going up against a defense that
(34:35):
can't get off the field. They really couldn't until right
when they need it at the end. In Arizona. I mean,
the Packers had the ball three times in the whole
first half last week in Arizona. That's you can't win
like that weekend and week out, and you definitely can
against Rogers, who's gonna put up points. So I actually
I think it's going to be an L. I'm hoping
to reverse jinx it to get a W, but I
(34:56):
think it's gonna be an L unless the defense improves.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Ye well, and I do think, you know, and generally speaking,
you know, just because teams have extra added incentive, that
doesn't guarantee anything. You know, teams always try to invent
those things, right, especially it seems like in football more
than any other sport because it's just that kind of
a sport where you got to get all fired up.
(35:20):
And but I think they're going to be ready for
no one is better at that than Rogers too. Well,
that's it, and then he'll convince it. All of his
buddies on the team are going to want and we
got to do.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
It for Aaron. Aaron needs to get back at Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
So I would expect Pittsburgh's Pittsburgh's best performance.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
We'll see how that goes.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Let's take a break. When we do, you're gonna do
a little five three four. The legendary Mark Rose and
will join us at one thirty along with Duce for
spread Swing. It's the common Man Program. Oh do you
got to tease for us? By the way, I gotta
get a tease. We'll talk a little wild and we'll
have you fill in the blank.
