because I don't want to. I don't want to paint
him in a bad light.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I mean, why don't you paint him like uh Jack
and Rose Relax?

Speaker 1 (02:26):
You would Yeah, I would have painted her even right
when you threw that that coin overboard wherever it was, Heads.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Her tails a big part of the movie Heads Jack,

it rotted. Conversations with Chad GPT. I'll see guys later. Yeah,
Open AI says they'll use hm hmmm age prediction system
to screen for underage users. On Tuesday, CEO Sam Altman said,
let's do this, horny people.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Is that what he said?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I'm paraphrase without proving, without providing evidence. He he said
that the company has mitigated recent problems faced by users
with mental health problems. I hope he has. But uh,
this is the beginning of the end. Guys. Yeah, as
soon as they create sex robots, that will spell the

(03:37):
end of human kind. Not like these, buddy, not.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
Like these the hawks investing into the company.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
What's the name of the company, Hawk? It's fine, Yeah,
you're a member. Imagine that. That's that's what it says
when you go to the website.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Speaking of a Walmart is launching a new partnership with
Opening Eye to integrate chat GPT into shopping platform. The
integration of chat GPT will allow customers to play in meals,
restock essentials, and discover new products through chat based interactions.
If it will help people at Walmart learn how to park,
I'm all in.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You know you can see how they drive by the
way they walk their carts in there too, by the way, well,
they usually just the same way anyway. I just wander
aimlessly right in front of you, right.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Have you seen that guy on Instagram that goes around
It's the best.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, it makes my day. People who just leave their
carts and then just shames them for doing it. Yeah,
it's so good, so good. It is the best, and
they all get so mad.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Yeah, and it's just like, take the ten seconds to go,
put it card.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Away and it'll be over. Somebody else will get that.
Don't worry about it. Yeah, that's so funny.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
The Nature Conservancy is buying over twelve thousand acres in
northeastern Minnesota. The global nonprofit hopes to restore the area
north of Two Harbors, including land burned in the green
Wood Fire. Tuesday sale is the nonprofits largest forest acquisition
in the state of Minnesota. The land will be open
to the public for hunting, fishing, and recreation, but there
are no restrooms or paths to be built in the area.

(05:20):
I like that idea, yeah, man, Yeah, dig.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
A hole to be one with nature, that's right, or
two with nature.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Zacho the green wave, green, the green wave. Yeah, you've
always had the green wave. You take a lot of dumps, Well,
you're weird, weird. Do you know I apologize? I apologize.
Do you know it's green? He tells me, I am
very regular. Are you eating a lot of shamrock shakes? Yeah? Yeah,

(05:51):
God god, yeah that's green. I like that. I do
like shamrocks specific one.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
You know, if they have them in the they should
have them all year long.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Really, let me do the news.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
I know, I know, I hate to talk to him
like that, Rosa, but you know.

Speaker 6 (06:11):
He's got a rough talk me every once in a while. Yeah,
he likes to rough talk me.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Grimmer.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Joan Jett and the black Hawks are returning.

Speaker 8 (06:20):
The woe and the what'll be salivating when you see it?

Speaker 2 (06:26):
You didn't even like take time to day guarantee you Hawks. Yeah,
that's his new open a eye Platform's he's building that website.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
A nunciate apparently to do black who isn't Arts? Now?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, the Jet and the Black Hearts, that's right, return
in Las Vegas. They're gonna do a residency. That'd be
a that's a great bear. That's a great lady. It'll
be fun. Have you played with them, No, but I've
seen her a bunch of times. She real good, yeah,
real good, like I've seen her once. Yeah, rock and
Roll Hall of Famer man, speaking.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
Of the Black Hearts, Is anybody caught up on Task?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Oh? Yeah, outstanding? You tweeted that first. I love Task
that first ten minutes.

Speaker 7 (07:20):
Taylor literally asked me if the show is over, that's
how good it was, so it's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Have you gone back to it? Dogs?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I have not.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Tells me it's too heavy. I don't know if it's
pretty heavy, but it's pretty heavy, feel good.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
But yeah, I I and I kind of got on late,
which was fine because I thought it was over the
way last I'm glad. I just binge it up until
of course I had to wait for the last episode.

Speaker 6 (07:40):
The way the last episode ended is outstanding. So much
one episode left.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
I can't wait. There's no way it goes to the
season two right, there's like it's a limited series? Is
with Corey?

Speaker 6 (07:49):
How much?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Was going to say? How many? How long? Seven episodes? Seven?
Like an hour and a half a follow into No,
I think it's just once. Yeah, Chad Powers, have you
seen it? Parker, Chad Powers? No, it's my fault. How
did you kind of talk it up a little bit?
You need to get somebody to watch. Nobody want. Maybe

(08:11):
that's the problem. Here's the thing. I hate you. I
hate the show. There you go watch watch so good.
As we've always said.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
He was the first one to say ted Lasso was good,
and we all laughed at him. Then he said Yellowstone
was good, and that's good until about the third season.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Hold on second somewhere.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
You even admitted that you only like, admitted, admitted at
hard you like to be rough talk by Beth?

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, who does it? Yeah? I wish she just is. Yeah,
the first episode hanging out the Math. Yeah, it doesn't matter, right,
she's very clean. Yeah, wow awkward. Isn't English in real life?
Oh yeah, yeah, you'd probably like that more.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Oh yeah, get the right, Well, you can do accents,
got the right multiple, Get that right.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
You're about.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
A teen in Virginia is recovering after being shot while
inside his own home by a hunter.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Rockbridge County Sheriff's Offices police were called to the home
Saturday after a report that a person was shot. They
say the sixteen year old had been shot through a window.
Thirties were able to track down the hunter who allegedly
shot the teen. Said I got him. Where was that
that would be in a rock Bridge County, Virginia.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yeah, no, No, you're trying to shoot at a deer.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yeah that's right. Yeah yeah, a teen listed in stable
condition at a little hospital. But it was an accident.
But you know, don't shoot at a house. Yeah yeah, at.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Least check what's behind the animal police hunters.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah. Yeah, good, good, good advice. Yeah, yep, yeah, good advice.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
A firearms safety when you're a child, Yeah, thank you.
I don't want anyone to give you a gun sauce,
no offense.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
No, I don't want a gun. Yeah. I don't like guns.
But if you want to have them, go ahead. I
don't care. I just don't. I've shot one gun in
my life. I'm good. Yeah, you got a child.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Two officers with the Memphis Police Department were relieved of
their duties for allegedly drag racing.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
That sounds like Memphis. I thought that was just a
little fringe benefit.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Records show that Albert Greenan Rafael Willingham were charged on
Sunday by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Troopers say the men
were pulled over after they sped toward the squad car
until they realized they were speeding toward a trooper. Geesh,
I you know what, I can't blame him. Who's got
a faster car? Everybody. I hope there's body cam footage

(10:59):
of that, Ralph and Albert. That would be tough, wouldn't it.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (11:03):
Oh gosh, Jim Yeah, yeah, John's names Jim.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Aren't we all on the same team here, Jim?

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah, brothers in blue? That's right. M hm.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
So anyway, that's your news, and it's sweet. It's all happening,
ladies and gentlemen, it's all happening.

Speaker 8 (11:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Later, we're gonna talk sports and we're gonna talk Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
But when we come back, I want to hear your bit.
It's not a bit, it's a good question. Yeah, I
want to hear your good question. Don't don't John, Yeah,
I won't. Don't rough talking, don't down talk it.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
I think you're gonna love it.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
I can't wait. I can't wait. I love talking sports,
so excited. We'll do that right for this my favorite.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
But first we're going to go to Hyvey with Jonathan Gernard.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
Time now for the Vikings Report, presented by Hyvey, the
official growth free Foreigner of the Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan
Grenard joins the Power Trip next thanks to Ivy.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Mark, your calendar is Boston Punk Legends Dropkick Murphy's are
set to hit the Palace Theater March sixth.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Do not miss out tickets drop.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Friday at ten am at the Boldetails of KIV dot com.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Heward Calendar. I imagine Justin Guard very excited about that.
I doubt it. The Palace is a great spot. It
is a great spot. That'll be a fun weekend in
Saint Paul.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Welcome back everybody, Patrip Morning Show. We've got not one,
but two big time athletes, Zach and Sauce, and we
also have Parker and Mark Parish.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
And I had this great question.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Discussion topic because the other day when Nico Medveden came
in here, he's our new coach of the University Minnesota
basketball squad.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Mark, Yes, good dude, I remember him being in here,
very good dude.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Remember that or not?

Speaker 7 (13:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I don't. I didn't don't remember hearing his name much.
But that's not more to shot. But but he's really
nice guy. No. I enjoyed Nikola's easy to cheer for
Emmy Awards. Emmy Awards got him. His guest, Oh, that's right,
that's right, that's right, that's all. That's right he did.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
So he walked in her and I thought, well, that dude,
he's not much bigger than me. I mean, everybody's bigger
than me, but you get my point. He's not that
much bigger than me. And so I was wondering, and
I thought, I don't know if it's offensive or not.
So I asked Parker. He didn't think it was offensive.
I said, uh, hey, Parker, does it matter to you
if your coach is a guy who played the game
or not? And then I thought, well, I wonder if
it's the same question when it comes to uh Mark Parrish.

(13:56):
And they each had interesting answers. So does it matter
to you, Parker Fox, Like, obviously, I'm sure that Nico
played at high school or whatever, But do you need
to have played big time college basketball in order to
be a big time college basketball coach in your opinion?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Well, yeah, I'll answer it from my perspective.

Speaker 7 (14:11):
Obviously, Parish as years of professional experienced answer from But
for me, I think I don't think it does as
much at the college level. I think as long as
you have kind of surrounded yourself with the game. And
coach Medved was a student manager at the U from
I think ninety two to ninety seven, so.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
He was a timeout. What does that mean, oh, a
student manager. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (14:34):
Yeah, So like at the high division one levels, we
all have, like all these teams across the country have
student managers. So there's just students at the U who
aren't on the basketball team, but they come to practice.
They fill up water bottles, they hold the pads like
they do all the kind of the dirty work that
the assistant coaches don't do because the assistant coaches are coaching, right, gotcha.
So so Medved was one of those guys. And it's

(14:56):
kind of a cool it's kind of a cool thing.
Some guys do it just because as they want something
to do, and then some guys do it because they
want to get into coaching. They want to surround themselves.
It's almost like a volunteer deal for a couple of years.
So there's been a bunch of coaches who have who
have kind of done that and made their way up
the ranks. I'm sure Grimmer can name a.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Couple of those.

Speaker 7 (15:13):
I can off the top of my head. I think
will Wade a student manager.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Maybe Will Wade, maybe Dusty Man, Dusty May student manager.

Speaker 7 (15:20):
So so you've seen some like really high Rick majeris, Yeah, majeris, yeah,
hawksman with a Dusty May.

Speaker 9 (15:28):
Yeah, a couple of Dusty mates, not the dust Off.
But I do think that, Like, but I do think
that as long as you've kind of surrounded yourself at
that level, you're familiar with the college level, I think
you're you're comfortable enough to coach at at a high level.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
And I think we've we've seen that right now.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
I don't know if Parrish would necessarily agree at the
professional level, and you have guys that have played for
twenty years in the pros, but I guess he can
answer that one.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Uh yeah no.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
And you know what, I was trying to think back
to College Park, and I certainly don't remember that being
a thought being recruited, like how much did this guy play?
I mean, certainly I was impressed with guys that I
knew that played in the NHL and everything like that,
but I don't remember it being a huge issue then.
But certainly in the NHL you'll see it if a

(16:17):
guy hasn't played the game or especially if you've coached
won a cup as a coach, you know that's obviously
you're going to have all kinds of respect at that point.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Are all the respect in the world at that point.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
But if you're walking in, if you're a young first
time coach, especially if you're walking into a veteran locker room,
you're going to have to win those guys over.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
You're going to have to prove that you at least.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Know as much as the smartest guys in the room do,
if not more.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
So, like you're going to get tested a little bit.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
There'll be some questions you know, early on early and
often just like you test a young goalie with a
bunch of shots, you know you're going to test him.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
You're going to challenge them on a.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Lot of issues because you've played differences stems that before,
so you kind of want to hear his responses. You
want to hear how how detailed he's gone into a
systems all that. So, yeah, there there might be a
little time period there where it takes a little time
to win over a team. That being said, if you
can win over the captain or win over one of

(17:17):
the guys with the higher hockey IQs on that team.
Everybody's going to fall in line real real quick. There's
no fake in it either, I think you know what
I mean, you can't. That's you can't and you can't
fake the answers, you know, the questions that we're going
to ask, the details in the game.

Speaker 8 (17:33):
So yeah, is that as common of a path, Like,
are you aware of guys that were either student managers
or non players that have worked their way up into.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Ken Ken Ken Hitchcock never play the game and you
know made his way as Stanley Cup winning coach, right,
So yeah, so that so there's definitely been players, excuse me,
coaches that have not done it. But again, you know,
you got to learn and you talk to some some
of the guys that want a Cup with Hitchcock. You know,
there was some some serious kind of respect issues that

(18:04):
players had with them because of whether it was because
of them that or not.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Yeah, that there was a lot of players that did
not like Ken because they felt disrespected by him, mainly
may maybe because of that, I'm sure had had to
have played a role.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
How many NFL coaches at the end of twenty twenty
four were former NFL players?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Oh, good question. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
The two teams have those thirty two at the end
of last season, how many of them were NFL players at.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
One point twenty two? I bet least six really little
way off. See, you know mine's truly a guess.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
It doesn't yell if you got all those guys in
the guessing game.

Speaker 8 (18:53):
Yeah, those guys they coaching. Tree O'Connell was, But were
any any of the other ones. I'm going to say
five six coach at what level?

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Like at NFL With the Doobies, eight of thirty two
at the end of last season were former NFL players.
I thought it would be more than that. Yes, it
says Larry Brown and Winston Churchill. Oh wow, it's not
a good I didn't say it was.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Winston was a grateful back. He was a good leader.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Yes, yeah, leaders called him deer leader, I believe is
what they said. I don't know to be wrong about that,
because you know, I was thinking about like and now
it's it doesn't work because it's not working, if you
know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
But when I see little dude over at the Miami.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Dolphins, McDaniel, yeah, yeah, I think, Well, don't you think
it takes if you're a guy like that who hasn't
specifically in the NFL. It takes one thing wrong for
your team to start thinking you don't know what you're talking.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
And I think the Lucy goosey attitude he had worked
when they were putting up seventy points against Denver. Yes,
but the second it goes south, then you start to
point to that stuff. Right like everybody, it's the same
thing with like a guy like Belichick. The meanness, the smugness,
the not answering questions is all great when you're winning,

(20:18):
but now he's finding out it doesn't work when you're losing.
Nobody's gonna put up with a non NFL player point. Yeah, yeah,
so I think that goes I'm I don't. I'm shocked
that guy hasn't been let go in Miami.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
He looks like he wants to. I mean, he looks
like he.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
Wants to be anywhere, but that can He called out
his quarterback for saying what he said.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
It's it's not good.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
I have the audio of that.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
You do?

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Yeah, did you know that they posted the audio of that? No, Hello,
your sucking that's terrible call. You should have done that.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
You say that to you?

Speaker 2 (20:54):
It was actually fairly gentle. From the phone calls I've gotten,
the coach said that you're stuck nuck like that in
the press box.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
You're some So let's do sports now, all right, cool,
that's a good question. Let's do it.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Presented by all Around, your Timber Tech deck building contract, take.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
You all Around.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
The Dodgers beat the Brewers five to one to take
a two oh series lead. In five games against the Cubs.
Last series, the Brewers scored twenty two runs and they
won the series. They've scored two runs in one in
two games, and yesterday, pitch It for the Dodgers pitched
a complete game, the first complete game in an NL

(21:40):
or ALCS since like twenty seventeen. The Brewers just can't hit.
They can't get any runs going, except for they had
a leadoff home run and then I think they got
two hits after that. But Game three is tomorrow in LA.
The Dodgers have a two to oher series lead.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Are the Dodgers the only like big money in the
team left?

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah? Yeah? Are you rooting for them?

Speaker 6 (22:03):
I mean I want I You know, Garlar and Marlar
are both huge Brewers.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Written in the book and I haven't read it. So
I want.

Speaker 6 (22:12):
I cheered for the Brewers last night, but I don't
think they have any chance. It's just you know, when
the eight nine hitters of the Dodgers are like name
brand guys, you're in huge trouble and Otani isn't playing
that well, Yeah, isn't playing that well, and they're still dominated.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Didn't like that trouble, right.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
The Brewers beat the Dodgers six times, and the Dodgers
never beat the Brewers in the regular seasons.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
Blake Snell, who pitched for the Dodgers in Game one,
was lights out and the guy who pitched yesterday was
lights out.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Yeah, yeah, well one of them.

Speaker 6 (22:51):
The Mariners in Blue Jays battle in Game three to
night in Seattle.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
At seven o eight. The Mariners have a two o
series lead.

Speaker 8 (23:00):
Well, I like the Mariners. Their manager is a former
Golpher catcher.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Really, Greg Olsen, So Wilson, the guy from a guy
from Bill Murray Williams.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
He was a greenskeeper. He was a Gopher catcher. Get
I get you. So we do that, we do comedy
speaking of the Gophers.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
Therefore, and two they host, Yeah, they host Nebraska this Friday.
Who's five and one, and now again, the line has
moved again. The Gophers are now eight and a half
point underdogs.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
I don't understand it.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
Maybe powers of Betts knows there might be an injury
or something, But I've never seen a line go up
and down like this in betting. It was started at
five and a half, it got to nine and a half.
Now it's back to eight and a half. But uh,
pregame at five that game can be heard right here
on the fan.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Grim.

Speaker 8 (23:50):
Yeah, we'll be here, guards, you will have the pregame.
And the Gophers have won six straight against those guys. Yeah,
I mean it'd be outstanding to make it seven in a.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Row, would be a big win. Yeah, yeah, you like
their quarterback? No, okay. The the Pat Mahomes thing is
too much. It's a lot. He tries almost scary.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
He doesn't know who you're talking about. Who are you
referring to? He doesn't know who Pat Mahomes is? What
are you doing about Patrick MAHOMESO does?

Speaker 10 (24:17):
Isn't that what the kids said? Yeah, trying to plan
into your bit. It's like it's like it's like Greta
van Fleet. They don't they pretend they've never heard, didn't
it's the same bit. Yeah, he does the same warm up,
he jumps up in the air, and it's the whole bay.

Speaker 8 (24:34):
He wears his helmet, the whole bit, the hair, even
the way he kind of the whole bit.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
It is spooky, it really is. But a brother, please fish.

Speaker 6 (24:44):
Yeah, the Vikings will get the Vikings news here. But
they battled the Eagles on Sunday at June pregame at ten,
the Eagles are a one and a half point favorite.
They've lost two straight though. In our first injury report today, Hello,
hey Randy. Week seven begins tomorrow with the Bengals hosting

(25:08):
the Steelers at seven point fifteen. The Steelers are four
and one. The Bengals are two and four. The Steelers
are a five and a half point favorite. Man, that
Steelers team's good.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
They are good.

Speaker 7 (25:19):
That John quarterback quarterback helps to Yeah, who could have
been in purple?

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Could have been? Yeah? I want them, I don't like them.

Speaker 6 (25:26):
And finally, the Wild loss five to two to the
Dallas Stars. Bowlding and Caprisoff scored the two goals for
the Wild. Your Wilder two two and oh. The Stars
are three and oh. The Wild battle the Capitals on
Friday at six.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
It's time for the Hockey Minute with Mark Parrish, brought
to you by friends.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
At Saint Cloud State University. Thank you Sant claud State University.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Go Huskies. So in the Wild Minute, obviously we'll start
with last night. Uh yeah, the five to two loss
was definitely not The score was not the story of
the game. Powerplays are definitely the story of the game.
The wild our goals on the PK kind of steal
from last year, giving up two out of two opportunities,
are going zero for two and letting up two goals

(26:08):
by Dallas And then of course the power play US
and Caprice a boldie looking red hot, scoring a couple
of powerplay goals and sending forty one shots towards Jake Ottinger.
You're giving yourself a chance to win. But he just
plays really, really well against his hometown team.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
And now we.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Are off to Washington to play the Capital is another
team that's red hot, another hometown goaltender. Whether we'll see
Charlie Lindgren or not, who is one and oh this
year and has pitched that shutout that year.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
But that being said, Otto.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Excuse me, Washington and Alexi Protus leading the way to
the young rookie last year is sophomore ceedon looking just
as hot, and it'll be just as big of a
challenge with the Eastern Conference Cup challengers. At least they
believe the Cup challenges Washington Capitals.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Perry, can I ask you a little wild question last night?
That was excellent obviously already mad. Did you watch the game? Yeah,
they looked like their feet were in the sand. Man,
it was slow.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Yeah, they definitely turned it on a little bit in
the third period. But yeah, but Dallas is Dallas is
also a very quick team, a very fast team.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Uh. Yeah, It's it's easy to.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Nitpick when you lose, you know what I mean, Like
it's easy to say, like, man, we look slower, Man.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
We looked off.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Uh, you know it's to me and it goes under
one of those theories where, especially this soon in the season,
you know, you never play as bad as you think
when you lose, and you'd never play.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
As good as you think when you win. You just
kind of keep focusing on the process and moving forward.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Grimmer, Yes, real quick, how did the Gophers win this game?

Speaker 8 (27:45):
They need to establish some run, yep, they need to
limit explosive plays because the Nebraska offense is pretty good,
and then they need to keep having some big plays themselves.
The pick, the pick six, they need to force some turnovers,
force that core.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
We're back into throwing the ball to you a couple
of times. Let's see it. Thanks brother, Yeah, good to
see you. There he goes. How's mercy? Right back? Vikings
News with KOC.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Quotes from yesterday with Paul Allen.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Right here on the van You're home of all Things Purple.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
It's time for Vikings Us on the Power Trip presented.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
By Joe Says series down.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
The world's on fire. Talking about who's going to start
a quarterback for you? Minisent Vikings, Yes, sir, Yeah, yesterday
Koc was on with our guy Paul Allen. But they
didn't just talk about that. They talked about a lot
of things, like early season adversity.

Speaker 11 (28:37):
Dealing with adversity is things that you build your culture for.
It's not to have really fun post games when you
win and everything's going your way. It's to handle the
moments that require the type of emotional and physical and
all the commitment that goes into it being at your
best when it's required. The saying is not being at

(28:58):
your best when it's easiest to be at your best.
Those are what teams that tend to be a little
bit more front running do in this league.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
I like, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:08):
I think he's done such a great job of just
with how he's been since he got here, and he's
the opposite of what they had in Mike Zimmer. And
this team is three and two despite losing probably their
center for the season. Their stud left guard that they
drafted is probably back this weekend. Your right tackle who's

(29:30):
a captain, has been banged up, your defensive guy who
calls the plays has been banged up. And you went
overseas and did something that a team has never done
and you won.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
You should have.

Speaker 6 (29:39):
Won both those games, but you split those games in
weird situations. And as we talked about earlier, they're still
in the thick of it for the division, with the
division not being a runaway, which a lot of people
thought it would. He's I've said it before, and I'm
not just saying this because he's been in here. He's
one of, if not the best coach they've had in
a long time. He's outstanding, man Koc Especially for me.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
That second win because I've been on those long road
trips and the last game is by fall and with
the buy hardest game to get up for, like you
just can't wait to get into your own bed and
all that. And then add on like you said sauce too,
like the BUYEO.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Hype we hadn't we had something to say.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Like with sausaid and then you add on the by
like so these guys are already thinking about their vacations,
where they're going to. They're probably flying out right from
wherever or from London there.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
So like it's really hard to.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Keep the guys focused and keep them on task, uh
that last game and be able to do that for
a week, Like that's hats off to koc and his
coaching stuff. Obviously the players too, but for them to
really keep the guys keep their minds focused.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
On the task at hand.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah, and of course said they they had to buy week.
They got to take a look at what went right
and what went wrong during the first few games.

Speaker 11 (30:58):
What did we do in those two games to not
find success regardless of the injuries. What things can we
coach better? What things can I do to lead our
team better? And how does this team need to play
week in and week out against the opponents we're going
to play against. That that can change. Sometimes you might
have to play different styles of games to find yourself
in the win column again and again and again. And

(31:19):
that's what we've made it a habit of trying to
do around here, and habits can be a powerful thing
when you do it the right way.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
You're more than one. Here's do you hear Weason going
on in the background. We're like the band. Yeah, that's
exactly right, like right from toy story. Yeah, but of course.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
The biggest deal everybody's talking about it, JJ Mac is
he healthy? Is he coming back? What do you do
during the bye week?

Speaker 11 (31:48):
I felt like it was my time for JJ, myself,
Josh mycount. We went out there and just really you know,
breaking a lot of things down to core principles of
playing the position and then repping things and drilling things
and uh figuring out where he was still what was
causing him to maybe still feel that ankle, you know,
more oftentimes than other things that he was doing, and

(32:09):
we were able to kind of really try to use
that as part rehab, part you know, getting that football acclamation.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
I heard it too, that's all I can hear it. Yeah,
that's all I heard. What care? I got nervous and
you know with me? What is that?

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Somebody in the interview was surprisingly I have really good
hearing and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
I can't help it out it right? Well, you they say,
if you're like blind, you've got better ears, right, right, right?
He's only blind in which one is it? I don't know.
That's for you. That's for you to find out.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
So then, you know, everybody wonders, will he start? Is
there a timetable for our young man to be back
at quarterback?

Speaker 11 (32:55):
There's no you know, mystery here. It's really not that.
I hope people understand. It's a little bit more real,
you know, me trying to do what's best for our team.
But also this player is very important and important to me,
and I feel obligated to make sure I always am
doing the things to help him stay on the path
to where we think he's going as a player and
why we brought him here.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
You guys, remember, how long is legit? I'm not asking
because I know the answer. I really want to know
how long did did Aaron Rodgers sit behind Brett Farr?
And how long did Steve Young sit behind Joe Montana.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Well, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (33:28):
That's before I started watching football, the Steve and that bit.
But I think it was four seasons because I think
it's the exact same number.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
Three full seasons.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
Google, Oh, it's okay, and then but I think it's
the same ways at the same number that Jordan Love
sat behind Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
There you go, right, all right, yeah Aaron Rodgers. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
So I think that their whole bit was they always
Green Bay always drafted a quarterback when they didn't need one,
even though it ruffled the feathers of their starting quarterback.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
The Vikings drafted one because.

Speaker 6 (34:01):
They absolutely needed one, right, So there's a way to
do it there, And you.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Know, and please no, I'm not comparing Carson Wentz.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
I'm just saying I understand the urgency to want to
see if JJ's got it, But if you think he's
got it, you draft him. I mean, they think he's
got it, That's why they drafted him.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
So high, right.

Speaker 6 (34:17):
But I also think, though, you have to take in
consideration that this coaching staff knows that you don't you
don't have the time like you used to, like you
always say, talk about this show is everybody. They let
you guys fail and that's what helped the show come
of days.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Yeah, it's great, thank you guys.

Speaker 6 (34:34):
But my point though is is like you don't have
that like you you think you do. If if you
put in JJ McCarthy and he plays bad, you have
to pull him because of what you have with Carson Wentz.
This isn't like you know, the Tennessee Titans where they
have nobody, so they just have to let the kid
play and they have to let the kid learn and
fail on the job. This coaching staff and this team

(34:58):
is built to win, and like said, the division isn't
a blowout, which a lot of people may have thought
it was.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
So you have to stay with who can win.

Speaker 6 (35:05):
And if you said earlier Hawk, if he thinks it's
JJ McCarthy, then you play JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
But if he thinks it's wins, you.

Speaker 6 (35:13):
Gotta go with the guy who has every other quarterback
around the league.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
That he's had is currently winning.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
And I don't know much about anything, but I did
like what I brought up history we Salisbury said, de Barrero,
you play the guy you think gives you the best
chance to win with this team. You're not Atlanta. No,
you know you're not. You're not a team. You're not
Tennessee here, right, you have a chance to do something special,
So give your team the best opportunity to win. And
again that said, I trust I'm not just saying this

(35:42):
to Kiss, but I trust KOC to make the right choice.

Speaker 6 (35:45):
And when and when they came back in that London
game and Wentz went nine for nine and through that
the game winning touchdown to Jordan Addison, that has to
mean something because we saw some clutch with JJ in
the one game. He wouldn't have looked worse than the
Atlanta game. You have to keep that as a consideration.
So I think they play him at least one more

(36:07):
game and then we go from there. But man, you
want to I mean the storylines of him starting next
week in Los Angeles, that being JJ McCarthy against his
old head coach who knows him better than that. Right,
But you have to see what the kid. This is
a weird situation they're in. They thought the kid would
stay healthy and he'd play a lot of these games.
They thought they wouldn't have the bat, they thought they'd

(36:28):
have the Sam Hartman kid or whatever. At backup, and
they would just kind of let McCarthy. Wasn't that his name?

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Sam Hartman?

Speaker 6 (36:34):
What was the backup they had that they traded, Uh Howell,
Sam Howell.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yeah, so yeah, I don't know. I think they keep him.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
And there's nothing wrong with a little inner squad competition
at the quarterback, just like with a with a rookie goalie,
sometimes you don't necessarily want to just hand him the keys.
You want to see him compete against somebody for the
job and see how competitiveness he isn't see it truly
where his work ethic can go there first, and then
to hand him over the keys as the number one job.

(37:02):
So to go along with that, Jordan Love taking three years,
and so many great quarterbacks taking a couple of years
to develop, Well, let him get in and out of
the lineup while he develops too. There's nothing wrong with
that as thing as we're winning.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
But you also look at a guy like Jayden Daniels.

Speaker 6 (37:15):
He played right away, he took that team to the
NFC Championship game. He was an MVP candidate as a rookie, right,
so it goes both ways. We're finally seeing Caleb Williams
be the quarterback. Everybody thought he would so. And you know,
Drake May is an absolute monster and he played right
away for a horrible team and he's the whole reason

(37:36):
that team is four and two like they are. And Pennis.
You know, they got a big win on Monday night
against the Bills. So you don't know, it's it's different
with everybody. If there was a way that it did work,
they'd all do it that well you.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Just said about Penis though he got pulled from the game.
He did two weeks ago and it didn't kill him
and he didn't die on him. Yeah, he got pulled
because he was having a bad game and the coach
was like, that's enough of that for today.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
Yeah, we don't you need something Sometimes that's for him too.
You don't want to completely ruin his confidence. You're like,
all right, this is going the wrong direction. We needed
to keep Salvage pulled out of the lineup.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
So many all the time. Oh my god, you guys
skip me. Thank you to get pulled. There you go.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
There you go. Looking at the rest of the schedule
real quick. Obviously we've got the Eagles at noon. Then
we go all the way to Los Angeles, for Thursday
night game against the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
That offensive line is horrific. That's a beatable team.

Speaker 6 (38:37):
They needed almost overtime to beat a bad, bad Miami team.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
The NFL is so crazy though. Yeah, every team is beatable,
and every team is capable of putting a hundred on you.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Like they're all professional anthem. I know.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
After that, we go to at Detroit.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
That's the toughest game they have left on the schedule,
you think, so really, Yeah, that Detroit teams, you're legit,
that's a machine.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Yeah, at Seattle's gonna be tough. That's gonna be to
So we go at Detroit and then a home against
the Ravens and Bears back to back.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
Yeah, who knows what the Ravens team are? Who knows
what the Bears are? Really?

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Honestly, I don't think they're that good, but what do
I won straight three straight, but they haven't played like
world beaters, But who knows? Like I said, at Green
Bay at Seattle back to back, Commanders at home, and
then at Dallas at Giants.

Speaker 6 (39:28):
Yeah, I don't know what the Giants are. I don't
know if they played Denver this weekend.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
But yeah, and then we wrap it up with two
home games, Detroit at home, green Bay at home. So yeah,
it is a murderer's row, but it is the NFL.
That's what you expect.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
Yeah, nobody.

Speaker 6 (39:44):
Nobody thought that the Tennessee Titans would beat the Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
No, nobody thought that, right.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
And did anybody think that the Giants were gonna be
worth a dam at all?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
No? Right, exactly. So you just don't know.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
And it's week to week and I love it. And
again is tell me the status of the Baltimore quarterback?
Is he done for the season?

Speaker 3 (40:03):
I think he might play this weekend.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Can you believe how much worse they are?

Speaker 3 (40:09):
They're worse without him? They're terrible.

Speaker 7 (40:13):
They're terrible. That's how good he is. He makes that
whole thing. He is unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
That is job security.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
That is right there.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
There you go. That is Viking's News on your home
of all Things Purpose. Well done, awesome.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Well, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
You're welcome, Elvis.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
I have a list from CBS Sports right now. They've
given us the top ten current NBA players. Oh sweet,
I wonder where your guy is on that top ten list.
And by your guy, I mean of course, Lebron James,
I'm just kidding.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
We'll tell you during sports after this, I'm a fan.
