Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, I hated discussion going on outside my door. I
wonder what they're talking about there.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Well, they were arguing about football during the break, so
I guess arguing arguing about football rumors.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
He wouldn't kiss me.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Oh no, wonder you went out in the hall nowhere
we're talking privacy.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
We needed extra privacy talking. Yeah, football Run Sea Bears
made me see the way. So I was telling Tom
on your way, Hey, Benny, what's your favorite Christmas song?
You know what i'd have to Silent Knight is.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Silent Night is probably one of the top bangers. I
don't know, Nat King one of the classic ones? Sure, Doc, Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Does Doc? And do it hogs Daddy? How does it go?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Are you not heard the song?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
You know Silent Night goes? But how does it go?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
By?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Donkin it? You know?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
There's lest screaming in bolve.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I love every Christmas song other than one hawk.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
But so it's all right, guys, you know it's the best.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
So one day your Timmy's thrilled and we can't play
music no more striper?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Oh dare you?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
How dare you?

Speaker 3 (01:29):
All right? Yeah? It is ay.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
It sounds like he's been sprinkling in since the first
of July.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Right, yeah, how about this one news Chris Hockey, presented
by the twenty twenty six I Ah Jeff World Junior Champions.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, tell me about is Zacho Russia all wrong? Excellent?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, there you go, thank you go watch some hockey. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
This does sound like the Trans Siberian Orchestra playing some
kind of Christmas.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yeah, they're coming to town.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
They sure are actually make ninety of them.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Don't say it, don't don't not because of that? No, no, yea,
yeah no, I'm yeah correct, you walked in them with
Oh never mind, Tommy, why are you here?

Speaker 6 (02:15):
Well?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Google auto field.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Backstage again, Tommy. Paul International Airport. It's one of forty
airports across the US that will have its flight capacity
reduced by the FAA due to federal government shutdowns.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
We're one of them.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, yeah, so yeah, because the headline I read was
like it sounded like I don't know again, this is
why this is what I get for not clicking on
the story. They made it sound like it would affect
some airports and then shut down some of the smaller ones.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
But we're one of them.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
A yeah, in technical production and capacity, expected to have
an impact on thousands of flights across the country. A
reduction will initially start at four percent on Friday, before
incrementally rising to ten percent.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Right now, Yeah, yeah, so oh so it's like real, Yeah,
it's really happening.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah. The restrictions a safety measure at a time that
thirteen thousand air traffic controllers and fifty thousand Transportation Security
Administration agents are working without pay.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
All right, so dumb question.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yes, it.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
The ten percent reduction. My guess is that's not Minneapolis
to New York, right, No, this is this is the
super like low exactly. So it quote probably won't affect
most of us, but it definitely affects Yeah, some.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Guests, like Minneapolis to Grand Forks will probably be knt.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Right, But if you're going to Vegas or New York Orlando,
my guess is those flights ain't being reduced. That would
be my guess.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
The question is, though, we're not the only ones getting reduced,
So Chicago getting reduced, you know, all the big airport's
getting reduceds Well, how much will that affect of flights
coming out of here to get anywhere?

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I don't know, don't know, you'll find out. We'll see.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
It's not good though either way, because obviously there's a
reason why people are flying to those smaller towns. I
got to get there for some reason. Who knows. Yeah,
we don't know why. Ask us, we don't know. The
a's to the queues.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
It was a good queue.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
That was a solid cue. A good that's what if
it keeps going, that would be awful.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Like what do we do? Walk? It's probably a good
time to invest in rental car companies. Huh maybe.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Reallyant maybe have you ever done like the Uber rental? No,
it's not Uber rental, but it's just like how Uber works,
but it's for rental cars. Oh yeah, just walk up,
grab one gone No kidding, like you just called called
like that with kurts with no not like it'd be
like your car. It's got to be your bowl nor

(04:39):
your car, and you sign it up just like an Uber.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Signs it up your ABNB. Yeah, and then they hit yeah,
oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8 (04:47):
I have not used Toro, but my wife has. Yeah,
I've never used it, but I just vant no, it's
kind of bulls, but yeah, tell me, got in the
back seat, gotta go to work.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
But what you stopped yourself to for some reason then
you I had did you were were? You were in sweatpants?

Speaker 3 (05:05):
There was no zip.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Both the power Ball and power Ball and the Mega
Millions jackpots are sky high, no grand prize winner. And
on Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, so that jumps to four
sixty seven cash option at two twenty one, and then
there's the Mega Millions estimated eight hundred and forty three
million dollars up for grabs, and the next drawing, which
is tomorrow Friday evening. Sweet big money for grabs, big money, Yeah,

(05:29):
big money, big money, big money.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Big mamamise.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 7 (05:32):
You know.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
The other thing that would be interesting is, you know
we just talked about the other dayhen we had Ryan
Reynolds on, by the way, Jealous Day.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I heard you met him, but we talked to him.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
But you know, then we were talking about how the
celebrity net worth if you google what people are worth,
celebrities are always like, wow, that's just way off high
or low.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
It's just never right.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
If you if you knew a real list, if there
was a real list somewhere of what everyone on the
planet's worth, and you won the Powerball or the Mega Millions,
and you had, you know whatever, five undred and seventy
three million dollars. Wouldn't it be interesting to immediately see
all these unbelievably successful, famous legendary like actors or musicians,

(06:11):
and like I jumped all of the ball of them.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
By doing nothing. Take a seat high number.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Five.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
You know what I'm saying. You're going to see where
you end up on that list.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
All you did was go to a gas station, say
give me a ticket, and you're immediately quote more powerful
than ABCD. He's so cool to see where you fall
on that list. But that list doesn't exist. I'm sure
the IRS thinks that list exists somewhere, but it doesn't
exist on an internet unless you go maybe on the
I don't think the IRS exists.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
What do you do that bear?

Speaker 2 (06:45):
It's like a salary cap in the NFL, It's a myth.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Look at the lion doesn't exist.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
You can spend as much as you want on as
many players as you want.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Anyway. The point is is by Powerball and mega millions tickets.
That's right, Yeah, do it.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Here's the other point. Don't buy a samurai sword a
woman who committed murder with the Samurai sword in Californias
heading to prison probably good. On Monday, Lady sentence to
thirty five years in prison. The attack happened at a
home in San Dimas twenty twenty four.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Pianos to go.

Speaker 9 (07:15):
You guys, why or not? You know it's from No,
it's a point Break. It's gotta be playing No, it's
Bill and Ted's excellent. Why I didn't realize not know
a line from Point Break?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
And again Can't Break and again Can't point Break the
podcast that Chris had me listened to. They weren't convinced
he could do a movie like Point Break because he
was just the stoner idiot from Oh Yeah, Demas Man
like he was just he was Bill and Ted.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
He wasn't.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
He's not an action story. Is the Goofball from that
other stupid movie?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
And how about the lady just believe it in him?
Like I mean, for no reason?

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Right?

Speaker 1 (07:52):
You have blind Hope? That what's her name?

Speaker 3 (07:53):
The direct?

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I said, that's the guy.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
What's your favorite?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Kiano roles?

Speaker 3 (08:02):
The first speed so good. The second one I didn't
think it was terrible.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
He's not He's not in the second one anyway, But
it's a terrible film. But yeah, it's hard to beat
the Matrix.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
But my personal favorite still point Break. He's still Johnny Utah.
Really Hardball?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I haven't seen Hardball?

Speaker 3 (08:22):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (08:24):
It's the movie Tommy talked to a month or two ago.
You raved about it, said it's one of the best
sports movies of all time Mount Rushmore of sports movies.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yea, he cried, you'll cry.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
He speeds definitely in the conversation. Matrix is in the
most in the mix as well. But Sandra and in
their peak they are hot well, and that's the one
that put her on the match. She wasn't the thing
before speed in the huge deal afterwards.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
We didn't cry at the end of Task. He's never
going to cry anything.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Who didn't you me?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Yeah? What movie?

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Was I going to cry?

Speaker 9 (08:57):
In?

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Hardball? He said, end of Task. What I'm saying is
that what he's saying that.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
He cry Guarantee you cry at Guarantee. I didn't cry
at the end of task, and Task is a and
that's a tear jerker, man, is it?

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Yeah? I cried six hours later telling Kelly about it.
True story.

Speaker 10 (09:16):
Okay, give a hardball a chance? Yeah, good cue it's
phenomenal playlist. Did we ever get to the bottom of
why the Samurai sword was brought up? Dude stabbed and
killed somebody with it, that was the story. Yeah, yeah,
and multiple multiple times.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Right beforehand she said something like, wiggle your big toe. Hardball,
what would you guess it is?

Speaker 3 (09:38):
On rotten?

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Here we go?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Sorry, Martin, what do you mean on MTVS?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Like Martin Corsese call that hardball is thirty seven percent?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Get out of here. That's the number you were going
to guess?

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Yes, thirty seven, tad higher, okay, a little bit lower,
forty three, forty four.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Forty fun, this is go ahead for forty two.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Thanks, thanks Martin, brilliant Martin, course, thanks Steven Bielberg.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Yeah, Tommer, Yeah, you gotta go to a big boy,
I do, yes, man, Wow, what's up?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
What's up? Did you have something good?

Speaker 6 (10:26):
No?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
I'm just I just miss you when you're going.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Oh you guys will be at the boom on Sunday,
first game of the year.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Yeah, it's a big one. Are you like doing the
whole like pre game like you would do for Gophers
and all that stuff. Honorary Captain, you're blowing. You're blowing
the horn. You're blowing, you're put in your mouth on
that thing.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Yeah, yeah, Joe, do you.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Want to blow the gallon horn on Sunday?

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Joe Horn, Joe Horn.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah, I'm going Mikey and Murk actually too.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I love those guys.

Speaker 7 (10:55):
Yeah, if you know of anything fun to do before
the game. I'm not a big I know anything about both.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know anything.
I'll come say hi to you when you're on the
field and that it'd be cool. Yeah, are you gonna
be on the field the field? No, I'll wave, Okay,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Okay, that sounds different.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Prediction Tommy or what for?

Speaker 3 (11:13):
What for Vikes? Ravens?

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Oh, I mean go bulletin board material because Grenard found
out that sounds aid fifty five?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah, give him some motivation.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yeah, good cue.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yes, is Derek and Lamar playing? I think so? Yes?
They have zero zero yeah under injury report. No for
that reason, not a zilch.

Speaker 7 (11:34):
I'll go Ravens twenty eight, VACNS twenty seven, close one, heartbreaker,
game heartbreaker, And you know what.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Lamar Jackson is on pace right now for the highest
quarterback rating in the history of the NFA.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
He's a real eficient right now, really killing it.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Record something like one twenty two by Aaron Rodgers and
Lamar's at one thirty six until.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
It runs into our defense this week.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
You get that on that coming up in Vikings News.
Here in a bit, I got some questions from my
main man, and you might want to listen to Thomas.
Did your driveway boy job? Okay?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I will by Tommy.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
We love you, guys, say next week to go to
Hivee time now for.

Speaker 6 (12:14):
The Vikings Report presented by Hive, the official grocery partner
of the Minnesota Vikings. Linebacker Jonathan Grenard joins the Power.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Trip Next yay Hartred morys or seven twenty seven. Here

(12:55):

Pelliser will be joining us. Don't forget about that. Thanks
to our friends at bell Bank.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
He looks so much better with the haircut. I'm not
trying to make it weird in here, but man, it
was getting absurd.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
You're on TV.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Look presentable right now. He looks on the NFL network.
He's all smooth and swage.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
You made.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
It's a good flow, man, But I'm glad he got
a haircut.

Speaker 11 (13:18):
It was it was overdue. Yeah, man, it's not like
I wanted to No, you know, Judge, I looked like this.
You have a fashion sense, not a good I sure do. Yeah,
there's a sense there.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
There's a sense. It's not wrong, it's not good, but
it's something.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Right. You just seen Paris last night in his in
his faux hawk and his rock and roll outfit.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Yeah, he did ask me yesterday should I go with
the faux hawk?

Speaker 6 (13:41):
And I go?

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
He said he was going to die of purple. He did,
he did, he really he did.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
For the purple carpet, Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
It was a purple carpet. I don't know if he
had a purple carpet and I didn't see that.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
I don't know's I mean.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
But he seemed to enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
It was a good night.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
If you like that, Ah that he's gonna love this.
Because this is sauce with sports.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
It's time for a fan five on the Power Trip,
presented by all Around, your timber Tech deck building contractor
Thank you all Around, We appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Thank you. Don't book now. But it's already week ten,
and that starts tonight with the Broncos, who are seven
and two hosting the two and six Raiders. Denver is
a nine and a half point favorite.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Benjamin, you know what's crazy about the old Denver Broncos
is statistically bo Nix is a little bit worse this
year than he was last year. Last year, everybody thought, Wow,
this guy's the real deal. And he's fine. Right, his
numbers are solid, but they're technically a little bit down
from a year ago. But the team just keeps finding
ways to come back and win. It's a little bit
like the Vikings last year. It's like you just found
a way.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
So there's a lot of people that are putting the
old skeptical question mark on the seven and two You said, right,
seven two Broncos. I mean, I don't know, maybe they're
somewhere in the middle. I don't think they're a bad team,
but it's hard to be a bad seven two team.
But yeah, I mean it looks okay, Yeah, he looks
he's fine.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
I mean, it is quite the skill to be able
to win, right, I mean, if you find ways to win.
And you know how many times have we used that
word resilient around here and I suppose it's one of
those things you have to like give them that title
of being a resilient football team too, And that doesn't
matter when it comes to playoff football. So if they're
winning because the defense is making plays at the right time,

(15:27):
special teams is making plays at the right time, and
then their offense is making enough plays, it's winning football.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
It may not be like pretty, but it's winning football.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Like if you told me a second year quarterback had
seventeen touchdowns six interceptions, I think almost everybody would take that.
That's a pretty good ratio for almost any quarterback. Let
hmone a second year quarterback. Yeah, year one, he had
twenty nine touchdowns twelve interceptions. This year so far seventeen touchdowns,
six interceptions, But his completion percentage has gone from sixty
six to sixty one, his passer rating ninety three to

(15:59):
eighty eight. So overall, sliding the wrong way a little bit.
But I'll take a seventeen to six ratio all day
long if I'm donever.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Yeah, and think about their their two losses earlier in
the season, both on the road to the Colts second
game of the season. That's like, okay, we didn't we still.
I mean, now we know what the Colts are, but
especially week two, he didn't know what the Colts were.
You lost by one point twenty nine twenty eight, and
then they lost at the Chargers twenty three to twenty.

(16:26):
So your two losses are by combined four points on
the road to two pretty good football teams. So even
in a loss, they're keeping things close, so you know
they're they've got a nice little streak going. It may
not look pretty, but they're pretty dang good football team.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
The Vikings host the Ravens on Sunday at noon, pregame
at ten. Your Vikings are four and four. The Ravens
are three and five, but they are a five excuse me,
four and a half point favorite. We can talk more
about that next they go for football. Team is off
this week they battle the Oregon Ducks a week from
tomorrow at eight pm.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Pregame at six. Yeah that's the key, by the way.
A week from tomorrow it's a Friday night game, Friday night,
the fourteenth, at eight o'clock.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Right, yes, yeah, scene Bear is going, is he really?
I'll put that in the book. Chris so great.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I'm so glad.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Next week, are you putting it in.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Oh, okay, there we go.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
So hang on, when is he going to Oregon? I
think a week from today, So Thursday he's going to
spend forty eight hours plus in Oregon. Yeah, I think
they're going to spend the weekend there. Hand who's with they?

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I think it's him as buddy Kyle.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Are you friends with Kyle?

Speaker 3 (17:41):
I'm yeah, I mean I'm.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
An.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
I don't know him that well. He's a nice guy,
like jealous jelse.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
There that he's taking your friends out.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Nobody will ever take my senior from Well, why aren't
you going to Oregon?

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Because I'm going to Vegas? Oh?

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Why aren't they going to Vegas with you?

Speaker 3 (17:58):
I don't know they.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Are they having a couple's weekend?

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Yeah? I think so J and Kyle? Yeah? Are you
taking Kyle to Vegas?

Speaker 6 (18:04):
No?

Speaker 3 (18:05):
I didn't invite him.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Are you worried about the the flight situation? For a
scene Baron and Kyle?

Speaker 2 (18:11):
He did say that they have to fly into Portland
and then drive all right, so just those two are
there's more than that? I think there's more than that. Man,
are they going to need more than one rental car?

Speaker 3 (18:22):
I think they're only doing one rental car and I
think they said they were staying at an airbnb.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Is there only one bed? Do you know?

Speaker 3 (18:29):
I don't know that. I can't answer. Good. So who
are you going to Vegas? With John Kriesl putting the paper?

Speaker 2 (18:38):
All of his friends but not us?

Speaker 1 (18:41):
No, all of you are?

Speaker 3 (18:43):
You wouldn't go?

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (18:44):
I like Brad.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Brad's a good dude, man, Brent, I.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Like, good dude.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Yeah, so yeah, I can't go back to Vegas. Yeah,
he's a funny sounding typewriter.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Are you are you going for the race?

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Race?

Speaker 3 (19:00):
One race?

Speaker 8 (19:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Is that next weekend?

Speaker 3 (19:03):
When is that? That's two weeks from now?

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Thanksgiving weekends?

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Are you gonna go? You were invited to like an
all expenses thing.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, but but it's very expensive for me to go
to Vegas.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah. So yeah, seen Bear is going to the Oregon
game a week from today, I mean Ben, Yeah, and
the Wild that the Hurricanes tonight at six. The Wild
are five six and three and they have won two straight.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Eight and four.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Zeve Wim Szeve Wayne.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Zeve Wim.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Yeah. Great name, William who's the guy they drafted last
year out of debt up.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
I just love that name.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Man. Yeah, sound like you're saying too like the first
and the last name.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Yeah, I don't think you're saying right. Yes, his last
name name is Ze William Zeb's first name.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
M oh okay, I got you now. It's fun to say,
I just like that name. Yeah, yeah, it is kind
of fun, well said.

Speaker 10 (20:06):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
The Wolves lost last night one seven fourteen to the Knicks.
Randall had thirty two points. Ant did play. He was
kind of rusty, but then after the game, Kat basically
said he loves our locker room. And I'm sure the
New York media is killing him for that.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah, you know they don't like him.

Speaker 9 (20:24):
There.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
I was listening to Gergsey last night.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Apparently they trade him back.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Apparently he doesn't he doesn't make sense for their scheme.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Yep, I think he gets is that right? The Mike
would Brown would take him back. I think they'd take
him back if they got rid of Good. Yeah. I
think Gobert would be the the person they would trade in. Well,
you could have him both on the team. No, I
think I don't know if they would take Gobert, but
you'd have to add some other pieces. But yeah, I

(20:50):
think they would trade well.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Yeah, do one of these fancy NBA like multi team
traders where it's like seven teams.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Are involved, which I don't always understand.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
You what throw in Sean's friend Kyle, because I know
you want him out of the picture.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
No, not.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
I like you to know. I can tell you can
hear it in your voice, because you're jealous of their friendship.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
No, I'm not jealous of anything.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Seems Did he seem jealous to anybody but me?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
One hundred percent? You can tell by the way you
hesitated and when you answered, like a great dude.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
But when I said are you friends with him? You're like,
that's exactly, like exactly what you did. He's Sean's neighbor,
so you admit it. What city does he live in?
I think they live in but not Minetaka.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Or you're not you don't know.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
What city did I live in?

Speaker 3 (21:31):
I don't know if it's or no, no, or.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yeah, we're getting you, we're reading you. You want him
out of the picture, man christo or ye see he
blocked it.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
No, he lives so bad that way.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
I'm sorry you missed your friend.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
I love I love this interrogation of Sauce, but it's
kind of weird because you guys are not playing good.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Cop, bad cop. No play bad cop, bad co Yeah,
you guys are bad cop, bad cop. It's in our contracts.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Okay, yeah, plus yeah yeah, I mean listen, it's hard
to be good to him.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Somebody. My wife likes me. No she does ms probably debatable. No,
she likes me some days. Anything else, Yeah, any other spots?

Speaker 1 (22:18):
You got anything else?

Speaker 3 (22:19):
My bolster's house is burned down? Oh boy, what god
it has? When did that happen? This morning? Large fire
ups at Miami heat coach Eric Sposter's home in southwest
of Miami.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
You said that like you had something to do with it.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
I'm reading a story. I'm like you, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Yeah that sucks. Like the whole house is gone or
just like all gone? Yeah by okay, I think so.
I don't know what that sucks.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I swear of guys like he's standing outside with a
phone in his hand.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Do you know what's going on with the picture is
the house has been completely destroyed by a fire. That's
what NBA Central is posting. Oh that's bad. There's a
video of it. I'll retweet itch cool, do that all right?

Speaker 2 (23:04):
When we come back, we can talk Vikings, ravens and
questions and Ben. You know, look, you've spent years of
your life and in locker rooms.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yeah I have.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
I want to know what you would think if nine
walks into a locker room, the alter ego of J. J.
McCarthy nine, He calls himself nine.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
He calls himself. No, oh yeah, you haven't heard about this?
Oh yeah, he said. He said, growley face, you know,
like that mean mugging Colly guys, Yes, Scowley mean mugging.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
That went viral and over the weekend somebody asked him
about it and he said, I call him nine.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Oh boy, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
If you said it like that, but that's I mean,
that is how he said it. He said, I call
him nine.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Is that is he related to missed?

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, I want to see what you think about alter
egos and the locker room mentality when it comes to
alter egos. Bike his News as next as.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
The Power Too, want to show on the fan.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
That's right, Welcome back Partrip morning, short time for It's time.

Speaker 6 (24:10):
For Viking's News on the Power Trip, presented.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
By Excess Series. All right, Radco, all right, here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
So if you didn't see JJ McCarthy mean mugging on
Sunday in the locker room, we kind of went viral, right,
He looked like he was locked in big wine locker
rooms pumped.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Well, so somebody asked him about that, like, hey man,
you kind of had a viral staredown thing going there.
What was that all about? And uh here I can
read it again. I don't know his exact tone, but
JJ McCarthy said, it really kind of started to show
up this year, and it came about last year during
IR just never had a full season where you want
to be out there so freaking bad but you can't.

(24:51):
It was just this build up anger and uh kind
of ready to just explode, and I chose to harness
it instead of letting it go into a self destru
kind of way. And that's when he basically says, I
call him, I call that version of me nine. You
like all three egos, right, like mister unlimited, like saw
I said, you like that stuff, right, thoughts on alter egos.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
Even if he's half kidding, again, I didn't hear him
say this.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
This is just in print. Maybe the tone is different.
Maybe he's being a little more light harder about it
than than I'm making it sound. I don't know, okay,
tiering for nine or tiering for JJ.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Okay, so I will I will say that every player
I believe, I mean, I could probably say every player.
There's there are some that that have a harder time
turning things on and off. But in my experience, ninety
five percent of most athletes I've been around, they have
an alter ego. There is an on and off switch,

(25:51):
especially especially a you know, a highly physically combative sport
like football. Most guys don't walk around wanting just a
beat people up, you know, and love that physicality and
love that mean tempered person that you you kind of
have to be. So I think to a point, everybody
that steps on a football field, you you have to
develop an alter ego because you're not a psycho.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
You know, you're John Randall. You can't look up. John
Randall's a prime example, like McDaniel Randam mcgon wants to kill.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Both of those guys are the nicest guys ever off
the field, charismatic, they're fun, they're funny. Get them on
a football field and you find a different version of
yourself and it's it's a little bit of role playing.
It's kind of fun, you know, if you embrace that,
it's kind of fun. Some guys that you know, it
took me a long time to feel like I had
the right to do that, you know, the permission to

(26:44):
do that right. And and so I think everybody has
a version of nine. Now, whether or not you want
to admit it or talk about it in that way,
I don't know. I think it's a little off putting,
to be honest with you, but it's kind of like
a nickname. Let other people come up with that, you know,
Let other people talk about nine or that version of

(27:07):
you like it's It's one of those things that is
don't think that you need to talk about openly. Now
he's asked about it, I get it. I again, I'm
like you, I'm you're just reading the transcript and not
seeing how he said it. But most of the time,
I think when you talk about that self, you know,
it is like the Russell Wilson thing. Now, that's an
extreme version, but if he has mister Unlimited as an

(27:30):
alter ego, that's where he goes on game day, great,
let other people talk about that. But the second you
post a selfie video and you're walking around your house
and you get your wife playing along, then it's just
like it'sfomatist. It's like, so nauseat doesn't take that that
i'sned from me. Yeah, I hope that this is the
last time we hear him talk about nine.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
So he says, I love feeding that wolf because my
entire life at the University of Michigan, there was a
smiley face on my hand. And if you mile you
have fun, you're gonna play better and all that, which
is true. But I also think there's a lot of
power that comes from that built up anger that you
can transmute into your performance. That's a word I've never used. Yeah, No, everybody, everybody.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Great, Everybody has that persona within I mean, look at
prop I'm gonna guess I don't know if you said this,
but I'm gonna guess because of Tom Brady, it seems
like they have a mutual love of each other.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Look at Tom Brady.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
I mean when he was when he's competing at this
highest that's not tom Brady when he's sitting at home.
You know, that's a that's an ultra ultra competitive, a
whole version of himself. Michael Jordan's maybe the exception where
I think.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Four to seven, right, like Common, Common's the same twenty
four hours a day.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Truthfully, Common is the same whether you see him in
the hallway three hours before a show or when.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
He's on a show. When do you see him in
the hallway three hours that's the show that'll never happen.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
But you guys get my Yeah, I like to see
it as long as as long as he's you know,
performing at a high level. Great love to see nine.
I knew, guys, there's a guy that you guys know
for sure. You guys know him in the communications department,
had they would say am I going to get him?

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Or am I going to get said jersey number?

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Because two they would call his jersey number and say
like there there's a different version of of those guys.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
And that and you could say that about a lot
of guys the on the locker room.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Yeah, that's scary, can be.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Yeah, a couple of.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Penalties or potential penalties I want to talk to you about.
Have you seen the Khalif Raymond block on our guy
Van Ginkel that he's all find up about and do
you think it's do you think it's bad. Do you
think that's something that should Obviously it's not a penalty
the way the rules are written right now.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Should it be?

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Is that because he was in the box, Let's see,
Because I I really thought that they were getting away
of those away from those crack back blocks.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
And that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
It's been a while since we've had it officiated in
that way, but I thought, I mean, that's a very
classic wide receiver, you know, coming down, you know, either
in motion or post snap and just blindsiding a defensive player.
Even though he hit him in the chest, I mean
it was kind of it was in the frontal part
of his body. It's not like he hit him in

(30:27):
the back. But I thought that that was the defenseless
player defensives player. But so yeah, it looks it feels
illegal to me.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
If you're wondering what we're talking about. The wide receiver
goes in motion. Van geegle Is pointed at the offensive
tackle kind of angled in that way down into three
point stance. When the ball snapped, the wide receiver kind
of breaks off his motion and runs directly into Van
Giekle knocks him down. Now, for us, it was a good,
happy accent because Van Geigle happen to be knocked down
right in front of where there was the running back,

(30:57):
caught the ball, made the tackle, but everybody's pissed after
watching it on replay. In fact, Eric Wilson called it
absolute b s, a cheap shot, and Bank Eagles says,
obviously getting hit on the side, I'm just going to
pass rush and all of a sudden I get a
whiplash because the guy blindsides me. I'm not going to
go into it with too much detail, but I wasn't
pleased at all, especially if you've got neck issues like
he's had. Yeah, but they're fired up about that. The

(31:20):
other one, by the way, and I, if I remember correctly,
been correct me if I'm wrong. We kind of disagreed
about this during the game. But that was the leg
whip kind of trip. The trip and there's a supposition
that Aiden Hutchinson might get fined by the NFL for that.
He hasn't yet, but if you guys remember the roughing
penalty where he kind of stuck out his leg and

(31:41):
the debate was whether or not he did it on purpose,
It looked to me like he did do it on purpose.
With your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah, no, same, that's that's an unnatural movement, right, and
you know it's to me.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Now, it's a it's a it's a soft it's a
soft play because it's not like anybody got hurt and
and like he tried to kick him in the head
or whatever. But like, it isn't the letter of the
letter of the law that like you cannot, you know,
purposely try to trip somebody, Like that's not not really
how we play the game of football. And it looks
like to me that he he had enough, he had

(32:15):
enough awareness in that moment to like try to get
his leg out there to try to trip him up, right,
So sorry, yeah you tried.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
I mean it's good.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
I don't I don't fault him for trying trying to
get the guy down in any way possible. But when
it's that obvious and there's nobody else around but you
and the blocker and the quarterback, yeah, they're going to
see it. So sorry, dude, that's a fine.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Are you Are you glad that he was trying to
trip nine and not JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 4 (32:38):
Well, I do want to I do want to go
back just a second, because.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Going back to the van Ginko play.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
That is the that is like the hines Ward play
like that's those are the plays that made hines Ward popular.
You know, he was a tough player. He and Steve
Smith Junior, they had plays like that where they were
an absolute force on the edge and you knew when
you're playing those guys, you had your head on a
swivel playing when you're playing the line. And it's talked
about in the meetings like watch out if you've got

(33:10):
Steve Smith on that side and he's in a reduced formation,
keep your head on a swivel. Right, That I thought
was the exact play that they're talking about when they
when they banned that that block, it's the exact same thing.
And Brian Branch was a little more egregious. But that's
why Brian Branch was so pissed off and that's why
he got suspended because there was a play just like

(33:31):
that with with Smith Schuster and he actually hit him
square in the back and everybody's like, you know what,
you know, that would an a hole to like punch
the guy after the after the the uh, the game
is over, Like yeah, you shouldn't probably throw hands, but
that is that is a blatant, blatant fowl. Yeah, and

(33:51):
it was an egregious foul against Brian Branch. I if
I'm Brian Branch, I'm pissed off too. I'm super pissed.
And the way that you know, cocky ass mahomes like
was tauting him in the in the end zone too,
Like I get it, Like, I get why you're you're pissed.
You can't throw hands, but everybody's everybody's jumping on Brian
Branch like he's a bad guy. You go out there

(34:12):
as a defensive player and you get blindsided from behind.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
You tell me how that feels. It doesn't feel good.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
And I'm sure Van Ginkel after his neck and this
concussion issues, like ye, you know he's he's a little
bit nicer guy and you know, cooler headed. But like
I'd be pissed off too, And I'm I think all
the defensive players should be pissed off. And you know what,
do we play those guys on Christmas Day?

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Again? Christmas Day? That's right, Christmas.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
And by the way, again, I just real quick about
these two things. Again, we're talking about a blindside hit
on a guy who's had neck problems and a leg
whip to a kid who's had ankle problems.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
I mean I'm less worried about the Hutch thing because
that's just a guy trying to make a play and
you're like, all right, you got cat, all right, big deal.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Like they'll throw the flag.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
And the other one though I don't agree with they
got they got flagged for two roughing the passers and
the second one.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
I was like, this is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Hey, So when we had Grenardo on a couple of days,
Sauce was asking him about the Jamir Gibbs thing, the
fact that like a week ago you had to worry
about Jamia Gibbs and you know, we think I think
we talked about you. Was it you that said Darren
Sprolls and what Reggie Bush were the two that like.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
You lost sleepover? Was that you? No, I didn't say that.
Who said that? Greenway?

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:22):
I think it was at the Feast maybe said that.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Then?

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yes, you know there are players that you quote lose sleepover.
You're like, oh god, I got Darren Sproles this weekend.
I would think Jamiir Gibbs is one of those guys.
You're like, oh, man, he's going to embarrass me. The
Vikings did an unbelievable job at containing the threat that
is Jamiir Gibbs because he can embarrass almost any defense
on the on the planet, and the Vikings did a
great job corralling him. Maybe the best team defensive performers

(35:46):
of the year.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
They had to take him out Corey because he couldn't block.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Yeah, and then you put Montgomery in there any fumbles, Right, awesome,
good play by Cashman. This is a whole other level though, right,
This is like Michael Vick on steroids. Lamar Jackson on
Sunday could give every defender on every level of defense.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
To line.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
The linebackers in the secondary, you got to be terrified
because have we ever seen a quarterback that makes defenders
look this dumb?

Speaker 4 (36:10):
Okay, So from a linebacker's perspective, there are three guys
on this team that give me nightmares.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
Go on literally, I mean they're running back their quarterback
and in recard.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Yeah, oh really, John Luke, Jean Luke and he and
I'm gonna say, just like Zay Flowers because he's small
and shifty and you're talking about record.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
I mean, I'm talking about straight downhills, smash mouth football,
and you've got to take on an all pro fullback
that is coming back from injury. He did not particularly
play very well last week against the Dolphins, and you know,
so there there is a little bit of that. So
I suppose you're getting him probably less than one hundred
percent still, but he's he's a beast. And if they

(36:53):
want to play bully football and get downhill, and then
you know, especially in my position, if you're on that
open side week I b gap and they want to
run just like straight lead at you, you got to
hit that big dude. And then if you are lucky
enough and good enough to play off that block, then
you got to hit a full speed dere Derek.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
And so did you ever watch if this was if
this was Raven's week and you're watching film, did you
ever have a game where you're watching film and you're like,
I don't have a chance.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
I just I just can't get embarrassed at all. You
have to believe in yourself. Now, Corey, here's the deal.
Here's the I never I never said I don't have
a chance. Go fifty one to turn into fifty one, I.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
Got to turn into five to one, and and you
find the reason why I would watch film is like
it would help me sleep at night because I'm trying
to find an edge.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
I'm trying to find a weakness.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
And if I feel like I found a weakness, I
found out, I feel like I found a way to
beat them. Then I felt more comfortable about my chances.
All you do is just increase in the likelihood that
you're going to succeed on that one particular play, but
then you got to do it over and over again
for sixty five steps. But like, I if like the
way I felt about watching film, the way I felt

(38:04):
on a Tuesday, if I'm watching film versus on a
Friday is way different because on Tuesday, you're watching film,
You're like, oh God, oh jeez.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
This is gonna be good.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Not good, Okay, even if you were wrong, by Friday
you had convinced yourself I think I can handle that.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah. By Friday, it's like, all right, I got it.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
So like, you know, I see this formation, I think, like,
all right, it's it's not gonna feel good.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
But like I like my chances again.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
So rank those in terms of which ones, even on Friday,
would have given you the most fear between the three
you just you just named who scares you the most
of the three.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
As a linebacker specifically.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
See I I always aired on the physicality part. You know,
if you if Lamar jukes me and my leaves my
jock on the floor, whatever, all right, he does, he's
gonna he's gonna do that to a safety. He'll do
that to a corner, right, he'll do that to a
fleeter footed person. But like you know, when I got it,
if I got a bear because I got I got
just flat backed by a blocker or by got run

(39:04):
over by running back back gave me. That was more
of the reasons, Like I would lose sleep versus getting juked.
You know, it's never good. I mean, I feel like
what Chad's talking about. Like Westbrook was the guy that
I hated going against because they threw so many swing
passes out to the flat and he was always in
the flat, and that was always my area. And if

(39:25):
you're playing proper defense in the flat, like you're never
playing the flat, you're really giving a corner more help.
So you're you're off the line of scrimmage and dropping
twelve yards and then they're swinging out and They're five
yards on the other side of the line screaming, So
you have, you know, sometimes almost twenty yards of space
to like try to cover this guy. You're like, I'm
never gonna like, you know, the best thing I can

(39:48):
do is like slow him down. Cervells can rally and
help me tackle this guy. They have a million weapons, obviously,
the Mars, the headliner, Dereck Henry. Of course, Babman's having
a good year, right, Babman's looks like.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
He's the real deal, say Flowers whatever, they got a
couple of tight ends with Andrews.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
And likely it's well they got they have three tight ends.
They're really really good three.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Yeah, but does does Hopkins have anything left or is
he just kind of like a distant third.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Yeah, he's probably more of a distant third.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
Okay, Yeah, things like The thing is to keep in
mind is they have a lot of weapons, and they
as you as you see with their record with Lamar
being out, they ride and die by Lamar Jackson and obvious, right,
it's obvious, and you know, sure he's gonna give us
fits and all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
