Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's a big day over at our friend KA one
on two.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
We have paliser today, right we do?

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Oh hell yeah, yeah, that's a big day for us too,
right yeah, huge.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Day, huge days. Been a big belt bank.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
It has Oh yeah, that's right. But right now, our
friend Pat Knight, good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
How are you guys? Great?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
What's going on? To k to tell me about this big,
big thing you guys got going on. It's that time
of year, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
It is that time of year. It's the best two
days that we have. It's the Saint Jude Radio thon
K one O two. Always Thank you, Ben. It's always
a treat for us to do to give back to
these kids. And you know we're looking for you know,
over two days we were asking the community to come
together become a partner in hope, which means you just
donate nineteen dollars on your credit card by calling one

(00:55):
eight hundred three oh three eleven thirty five again that number,
one eight hundred three oh three eleven thirty five. And
we're just trying to raise as much money as we can,
even though we send it to Saint Jude in Memphis,
where we're trying to help cure cancer and all these kids.
But the biggest thing is that money goes that no
parent gets, you know, a hospital bill. They don't have
to worry about, you know, flights down there, where they're

(01:17):
going to stay, how they're going to eat. You know,
do they have rent payments that they have back home
or mortgage payments that they have to worry about if
they're down there in Memphis taking care of their kids.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
And that's what all this money goes to.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
So becoming a partner and hope is what we try
to do over two days to run up the tally.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
As much as we can.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
And the cool thing is is that it doesn't just
stay there like that information doesn't just stay at the
hospital in Memphis. They share it with every hospital, so
all the ones here in our backyard they get information
that they find. They they're literally the only business that
I think I know of that wants to put themselves
out of business, and that means that they cure They
cured childhood cancer. So that is why we do it.

(01:55):
We love doing this. It's two days of just asking
people tax deductible by the way, to become a partner
and help nineteen dollars a month on your credit card
one eight hundred and three oh three eleven thirty five.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
It's right, yeah, let me just jump in here.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
And I've said this many many times, and Pat you
already know this, and a lot of other viewers listeners
know this. So my family was directly affected by the
generosity of Saint Jude and everybody around the world to
help out. My nephew was treated there. Unfortunately he succumbed
to the to the brain cancer. But the care that

(02:30):
they got my brother and his wife is unremarkable. Really,
it's ridiculous the amount of support that you get. Everything
that Pat was talking about, not a hospital bill. I
mean you think about you think about the treatments and
the surgeries and the all of the stuff the hospitals stay.
They didn't get one bill, not one single bill. They

(02:53):
got a they got a grocery card per week to
get groceries. They had a two bedroom apartment on campus
they got to stay in. My brother was still holding
down a job, he was still traveling back and forth
between Louisville, Kentucky, and Memphis, Tennessee to make ends meet,
and they didn't have to worry about hospital bills, grocery bills,
a gas bill, they got a gas card to drive

(03:16):
back and forth for transportation. And they still to this
day are friends with the nurses and the doctors at
that hospital because they're so great and so caring and
so compassionate, and they carry the legacy back in Louisville
and even some of the I think even some of
the nurses have kind of walked in there in that

(03:39):
five k that they do in Louisville. So anyway, the
point is it's not just words. It really it really matters.
I mean, they are really really doing all the things
that they talk about, and we saw it firsthand, and
like Pat was saying, every hospital around the world, they
are a research hospital. So yes, the things that they
do there are cutting edge. So if things work, even

(04:02):
if they don't work, they share those things across the board.
So Children's Masonic, they're probably on the phone with them
every day with doctors down there. Hey, we've got a
special case here. You guys had this case down there.
What did you guys do?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
What worked? What didn't work?

Speaker 4 (04:16):
So even kids in Minnesota can get the direct benefits
of your dollars that are generated that go down to
Saint Jude. So we're all trying to fight this together.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
How wonderful. And again, not just that you're hearing all that,
and that is plenty of reason to become a partner
in Hope, which, by the way, is so easy, and
you just you do it and you just forget about
it every year, you know, you just every now and again,
I look at my credit card bill and I'm like, oh, yeah, good,
and you feel look good about it. But not just that,
there's also incentives like this one which is available right now,
if you will become a partner at.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Home, absolutely as a way to say thank you. Every
hour we're putting together these things that if you become
a partner and Hope again that nineteen dollars a month
on your credit card by calling one eight hundred and
three oh three eleven thirty five. We have so many
partners that want to say thank you and jump in
and help us run this tallly up as as high
as we can go. And right now what we're doing
is that if you become a partner in Hope by calling,
you're in the running to get four tickets to see

(05:06):
the Packers come here and play our Minnesota Viking. So
it's kind of a cool way of getting in the building,
being in the lottery, having a chance to win that
four pack of tickets to see the game, whether you
live across the river and you're coming to see your
team and you're listening right now, or if you're right
here in the metro and you still want to see
the vikings, maybe knock the packers out of some sort
of seating.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
But the ultimate thing is is.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
That you're going to becoming a partner in Hope and
you're going to see that on your credit card statement,
like you're talking about Hawk. You're gonna feel good every
month when you see it. You're like, all right, I'm
making a difference. And you get this cool Music Saves
t shirt. You're gonna get your Music Safe sweatshirt, which
is really sweet this year. It's a cool hoodie kind
of got a retro look. And all you got to
do is call right now, become a partner and hope again.
It's nineteen dollars on your credit card. It's one eight

(05:49):
hundred three oh three eleven thirty five. One eight hundred
three oh three eleven thirty five. If you follow K
one O two on Instagram, it's at K one o two.
We have a whole bunch of stuff do. This is
the last day of the read that we're doing it.
Yesterday was our first, and we have all sorts of
things that are going to come up today every hour
just as a way to say thank you for those
that become a partner and hope every hour. If you're
a wrestling fan, you know, follow us on K one

(06:11):
o two. We have a cool thing from our friend
Jelly Roll that he donated that's coming up. And then
if you want to go across the pond to London,
we have a very cool opportunity coming up to to
see a huge concert over there. But yeah, all these
things you mean Hawk, You know these country artists they
know not only what K one o two means, but
more importantly what Saint Jude means, and they know the

(06:32):
radiothon that we are lucky enough to do here at
K one o two just generate so much income for
the hospital. Like Ben was saying, I mean, it's telling
when parents go through that ultimate loss and you think
you're like, wow, man, how would you even do that?
But they have like a lifetime relationship with the hospital
that even though their child is gone, they're still supporting

(06:52):
it because of what they did to make that time
as easy as possible for those parents, for the family,
for the siblings. Whether again, like Ben said, it's taking
care of traveling back and forth, because you know, a
lot of these parents, there's a mom or a dad
that stays with the child at the hospital and the
other parent or guardian is back with the other kids
because they're living their lives wherever they are, and you know,

(07:15):
and on the weekends they all come in so they
can be a family and there's no grocery bill, there's
no travel bill.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
It's just wonderful.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
It's just, you know, these partners and Hope help them
run up the cost so they get that extra time
with whatever child they have in the family that's unfortunately
at the hospital. They just don't have to worry about
anything and they get that limited time that they have
left just to be a family, to make as memory
as many memories as you possibly can. And that's all
thanks to these partners and Hope donations. Again, it's just

(07:42):
nineteen dollars on a credit card, and it's one eight
hundred three oh three eleven thirty five. And right now,
if you become a partner in hope. You're on that
running to get those four tickets to see the Packers
and the Vikings game coming up in January.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
You're the best ever man. Thank you. I appreciate what
we mention a few more times. And if I've learned
anything in this life, I mean this from the bottom
of my heart. It's the truth. The more you give,
the more you get, So give away. Become a partner Hope.
One hundred and three oh three eleven thirty five. Thank you. Yeah,
there you go, get those tickets. Get that. That's a
cool day. Man.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
I knew about the free medical care and the and
the places staying like I didn't know about the gas
cards or something. That's just wow. Well you got so much,
so many things to worry about, and how many things
going on to take that worry away one a wonderful thing,
jes Louise. So let's do it.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
It's time for Fan five on the Power Trip, presented
by Builders and Remodelers.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Week fifteen of the NFL season.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
Starts tonight with the seven and six Bucks hosting the
four and nine Falcons.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Tampa is a four and a half point favorite.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
A hell of a game.

Speaker 8 (08:46):
The Bucks need everything that they can get. Panthers are
on their ass, right yeah, man.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
And the Tampa looks terrible.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
The scene they've lost five of their last seven.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Is dude, just way too hurt to be planned.

Speaker 8 (08:59):
I think the case. I think they're all hurt. That
team is just banked up right now and they have been.

Speaker 7 (09:04):
Also, they might get Mike Evans back, I think really, Yeah, yeah,
I think he's gonna come off ir from his broken collarbone.

Speaker 8 (09:10):
Well, that their rookie wide receiver kind of fell off
the face of the earth. He was gonna he look
like a lock for Offensive Rookie of the Year at
the beginning of the year, and now he's kind of
falling off the face.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Plan Not good, not good. I haven't even heard a
word about him. No, he turns the ball over a lot. Yeah,
what that's a new development.

Speaker 7 (09:33):
The Vikings battle the Cowboys on Sunday at seven to twenty.
Pre game at five, the Cowboys are five and a
half point favorites. Christian Darisa on TJ. Howkinson did not
practice yesterday or TJ with a shin injury and darrisaw
with the knee injury. They also had a lot of
people that were limited, some for just a rest day,
but others for actual injury.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
One guy on the Cowboys roster that we need to
pay attention to is Tyler and their left tackle. He
sat out last game I think with a hammy. So
monitor that situation because the guy that they had in
behind him that started against the Lions.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Awful just likes.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
I mean, he's he is one hundred percent the week
link the fish on that offensive line and Terrence Steele,
their right tackle didn't play much better. So if there's
a vulnerability on that offense, you know, even though it's
a quote unquote high powered and they score a lot
of points, a lot of they get a lot of yards,
those two tackles are terrible. But Guiden's really good. So

(10:38):
if he plays kind of changes the whole dynamic.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
He didn't practice yesterday, don't.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
There you go? Hey, listen, when we come back, we'll
have a dot com. Tom Pellisero, thanks for our friends
of Bell Bank. Continue talking NFL talk, not just Vikings,
but all NFL talk. We've been labor to cast thousands
on the fan.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
It's the holiday season and bell Bank is giving one
kf and listener each week one thousand dollars to pay
it forward to a charity out their choices.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Head over to KFA and.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Dot comic the keyword contest, learn more and enter today.
That's camfean dot com keyword contests.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Hogs Daddy.

Speaker 7 (11:22):
Pregame is at five thirty, So you and I will
be on at six point fifteen.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Oh good, Yeah, I give you a little more time.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
It should be plenty of time. I'm exciting.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, I can't wait. Sunday night football is great.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
It certainly is NFL football.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Max by Max ol Hey, there's to yees. Sunday night
football is great when you don't have to travel back
after that thing.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Oh yeah, when do you get back? Six?

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Six in the morning. Yeah no, there's no time change,
so I don't know. We'll probably get back at It's
good playing about too.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, yeah, prom If Tom Pellisero will be joining you.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
He could just he can just jump on the plane.
I bet you we have enough of a travel party
that he could sneak on.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
You have to sit on Jared's lap.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
They'd let him on. Yeah, they'd let him on. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Would you like to go to Dallas with Ben on Sunday?
Tom Pellisero, thanks to our friends of bell Bank.

Speaker 9 (12:18):
I think I'm good. Yeah, that two am arrival doesn't
sound doesn't sound fantastic. My off center. I was just
trying to make sure I'm in the shot here, Ben,
I like to you've adopted my stocking cap.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Look you're really yeah, I'm you know, I've gotten I
don't know. The older I get, the colder I get. Yeah,
and I don't like it.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
I was sitting here just fine, and then about twenty
minutes ago, I'm like, I'm I don't want I'm cold.
I don't want to put my big heavy jacket on,
so I just want to stocking cap on. So yeah,
there's that. It's it's very cold, and it's gonna get worse.
I'm just gonna tell you that right now, Ben.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
That is the benefit. Tom.

Speaker 9 (12:54):
When are you heading down to Dallas? Are you not
a cot I will not be in Dallas. We don't
do a ton of the Sunday night games. We back
in the day, when you be standing in a completely
empty stadium on the morning show eleven hours before kickoff,
there was something to be said for that. You know,
go back, get a workout in, come back to the
stadium several hours later. We don't really do that a
whole lot anymore, So I will be watching on the

(13:15):
couch with everybody else.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Well lucky, Yeah, good for you.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
I was just going to make the point the fact
that at least we're going to jump on the plane
on Saturday when it's going to be minus one thousand here. Yeah,
and then we can actually go down to the south
and get a little bit of warmth.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
But you're gonna be cozy with.

Speaker 9 (13:32):
Your weekends high that I don't leave the household a
lot these days.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Yeah, minus two for highest.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
So if you've got one of those like weighted blankets,
I'd use one of those for Sunday.

Speaker 9 (13:44):
The high great combination is the the extremely heavy snow
that falls and then it gets really cold, and so
you end up with like the ice luge at the
bottom of your driveway. Oh yeah, a lot of fun.
I tried breaking it up last night, gave it about
five good hacks with the shovel and was like, nope,
I'm out. Yeah, I'm going to hurt myself before I
hurt this ice block.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, we don't want that high for Sunday in Dallas.

Speaker 7 (14:07):
Have you looked seventy forty four oh.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Oh, it's better than Yeah, so mom inside that big
old building too.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (14:17):
Well, they had the Super Bowl in Dallas. It was
freezing that week and they got like freezing rain and
traffic ground to a halt, which was not ideal.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
No, no, no, So anyway, there you go. We've been
told by one Ben Lever that the defense for Dallas
is not so great. So we're hoping for another big
week from our quarterback. But talk to me before we
put it in the rear view mirror for good. Talk
to me about what you saw out of our team
last week. How did that turn around happen? In your opinion?

Speaker 9 (14:45):
Well, Washington's, you know, a storling football team. You start there,
and I'm not taking credit away from the Vikings, but
you know that's been the story of the Commander's season.
I mean, you know, Jade Daniels had missed several games
after dislocating his left elbow. He comes back and like
of all worst case scenarios, him throwing an interception and
then getting absolutely upended Loony Tunes style and landing directly

(15:09):
on his left elbow. It was like the worst thing
that could happen. He's not gonna play this week. It's
nothing long term, but he aggravated that injury again and
then you know they lose Zach Ertz. You know, Zach's
a great guy, and I mean that was a horrific
look and injury. Unfortunate situation. You know, they came into
the year coming off anc Championship Game appearance, and you know,

(15:31):
they doubled down on signing a bunch of older players
and trading for tunsl and Deebo Samuel and signing Von
Miller and a lot of times what happens when you
have older teams is guys break down, Guys fall off
the cliff in certain cases, and you end up right
in the spot that Washington is. You know, the fact
that you had two teams that want as many games
as Washington Minnesota did play in a essentially a relevant

(15:54):
game in December is is just kind of staggering and
it speaks to you know, where the league is. But
but you know, this is this is kind of the
vision of what the Vikings thought that they can do,
not justin Jefferson having what one catch in that game,
but in terms of controlling the ball, in terms of
you know, giving JJ McCarthy's MEAs he throws, letting him

(16:14):
you know, find his his rhythm early in games. I
keep coming back to it, guys. I feel like every week,
you know, we're on this JJ roller coaster and if
it's a if it's a loss, he probably played really
bad in it. And if it's a win, you're like, ah,
it's pretty good. He's still you know, seven starts into
this thing, I believe. Now you look around at the

(16:34):
other quarterbacks within the league. I mean, think about some
of the young quarterbacks and where they stand right now.
You know, Bo Nicks, I don't think he's played like
off the charts football, but he's on a Broncos team
that's got a shot at the the number one seed.
Bryce Young, who everyone was ready to write off after
his first season, you know, and why didn't they take
c J. Stroud? Bryce? You ellams in a position to

(16:55):
win a division and you've seen him what he's been,
but he's been really good. What he's not been good,
it's it's been you know, a little bit ugly at times.
You know, that's kind of the nature of this thing,
and so you know, you continue to ride it out.
The Vikings have a you know, an infinitesimal chance of
making the playoffs at this point. But what you're wanting
to see down the stretch here is the growth and
you're wanting to see, Okay, just go out there. Last week,

(17:17):
the message to JJ was go out and play. He
did that, and he made some plays. And as much
as you know, his follow through on that first touchdown
pass looks like Jeff reared in nineteen eighty seven, and
you know, he's kicking that leg through it. It's weird
to look at at but you know the mccanle stuff

(17:39):
from that game. And let's see now what he does
against the Dallas defense that has played a lot better.
Is they've gotten some guys back the Quinn Williams trade.
Clowney's come on, you know, let's see how they play
and how they function on the road.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Here, Tom Pelisaro, thanks to our friends at Bell Banks's
just on the phone.

Speaker 7 (17:57):
Somebody called on the hotline.

Speaker 9 (18:00):
Cut away. Let's see what Hawk's got to say something
over there.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Oh yeah, it's definitely nine hundred's definitely quick.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Are you your mic settings?

Speaker 5 (18:10):
Are you?

Speaker 6 (18:11):
Are you coming from your your earbuds or your computer.
We're getting some complaints of can.

Speaker 9 (18:16):
You not hear me? I'm right here.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
You hear me better than that one.

Speaker 9 (18:21):
I'll move it closer to my face. I'll bring my
ball closer to my face here.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Well, listen, Tom.

Speaker 9 (18:26):
The microphone's called Clark's Reference.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
You know you're a bell Bank champion, Tom, as you
well know, and they bring you onto the show for us.
I'm also a bell Bank champion. And somebody who you
share a lot of commonality with, somebody who's on the
hotline with us right now is a guy by the
name of Josh Youumo, Josh Tom Pelsero, Tom Joshua. Josh
and I were just talking about the Vikings and and

(18:51):
how topsy turvy the NFL has been this year. But
welcome to the show, Josh. How you been man, It's
good to hear you.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
Hey, I'm happy to be here. You guys me very
often anymore.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
I pretty much invite you every week. In fact, I'm
going to guess you're going to delete amember at some point.
But how are things down in Lovely?

Speaker 9 (19:06):
Happy to be here.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
We're glad to have you. How are things in Lovely
New Mexico? Right now?

Speaker 5 (19:12):
It's been great, man. I love working here. You know,
we've got a lot of a lot more snow than
you'd expect in New Mexico, New Mexico at the time
of the year.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Really, I never thought it didn't do. Yes, wow, yeah,
I'm looking yet.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
You know we're so high up. I didn't know. I
thought it was desert. Yeah, but it's high desert, which
means they get a lot of snow, which I didn't
know until I got here.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Well, we're having you on because just like with me,
yesterday was the release of your beer with our friends
at Drekker and Bell Bank. I said, you know, supporting charity.
Every beer that has sold during December of every one
of yours, every one of mine from our friends at
Drekker and Fargo goes to charity. And what is your beer?
And have you had it yet? Have you dranked ten

(19:51):
twenty thirty of them? Have you had a huge party
with him yet?

Speaker 10 (19:56):
I have not.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
I have not tried it yet. I'm coming back for Christmas.
Will definitely go taste it. You know, all the all
the proceeds go to Boys and Girls Club of Detroit
Lakes and Fargo, So you know, you get a little
buzz and you get to get back to the kids.
It's perfect.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
That's great and the last time we were at that
record together, you were singing with my band and we
were partying together. It's just huge.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
I know I have very fond memories as director, that's
for sure. That was one of the best nights of
my life.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
So, while we've got Tom Pelisaro here on, do you
want to give him your opinion on what happened with
Carson Wentz, your guy, your quarterback to youth. I was
going to take us to the super Bowl. Do you
want to know an update or do you want to
you want to break it down for him?

Speaker 5 (20:38):
Well, I texted with him because I hadn't heard what happened,
and he had surgery by doctor Neil elatrog Is. I
having about seven surgeries from him. It should be where,
you know, after after your ads, you get a free
one like Subway. But no, he he's he's doing fine.
I feel bad for the guy, you know, he he

(21:00):
just feels like he's got such bad luck in this league.
He's such a good quarterback. He gets dogged on a lot.
I was hoping he was going to come in crushes
for the Vikings, which he did. I thought he played
really well. It's one of those things where one week
they look good, the next week, you know, they can't
protect him and he you know, he tore up his
shoulder and that was it. So I don't know if
he's going to be back. I love to see him

(21:21):
in that Vikings uniform, but you know, it's it's the
way that the league is to see. You just never
know from week to week who's going to play well
and who's not. You know, my my, my pool that
I'm in, I think even the last place because I
cannot take a game this year because one week the
Vikings looked like they could beat anybody. In the next week,

(21:42):
you know, they could beat twenty seven to nothing. Yeah,
so Tom, tell me, what do you think.

Speaker 9 (21:48):
I mean, That's what we were just talking about, Josh
is it's the good has been pretty good, especially with
JJ in the lineup. The bad has looked really bad
at times. You know, bring up bring up Carson and
he talked about it, Josh, like the number of different
things that he's had done. I think back, and this
involves the Vikings too, Carson Wentz. Think about the connections here.
Carson Wentz was so good in his rookie preseason in

(22:12):
twenty sixteen that it made Sam Bradford available that when
Teddy Bridgewater blows out his knee, they trade Sam Bradford away.
Wentz is so good in his second season. He's the
MVP favorite until he's playing a game at the Coliseum
and a weird play at the goal line where he
ends up tearing his ACL and that was the first

(22:32):
of the mini surgeries. I think that doctor Elatres did
for him. He's always had, you know, those moments where
you understand why this guy was the number two overall
pick and an MVP candidate. There been times where you know,
he puts the ball in harm's way. That's kind of
been the story of his career. But I know this
just and you've talked to him more recently. You could
give us an update on this, but it sounded when
he was going into surgery like he still wants to play.

(22:55):
He wants to get in the right situation. He's not
done yet, despite you know, the last time we saw
him on the field he was in a ton of pain.
He'd still like to get back. That's the right spot.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Yeah, he's such a tough player too, you know, he's
a true football player, and that puts him in danger.
A lot. I don't think you can ever keeps that
out of somebody. I think Baker Mayfield kind of haves
the same thing. They put their body on the line,
and you know sometimes they paid a trice for it.
But you know, I hope the best of the guy.

(23:24):
He's a he's a he's a he's a great human.
He's an excellent quarterback. I loved te him in that
Vikings uniform. I thought it was that's that's what he
wanted to play. You know, that's where he grew up watching.
So you know, at the end of the day, the
Vikings can figure can figure this out. I'm hoping the
best for JJ. I know that it takes it. It

(23:46):
takes a while for these these young quarterbacks to find
the way. You look at Bryce young, uh, you look
at any of these young guys, look at even Drake
may You know, these guys, it takes a couple of years.
And this is literally his his kind of his rookie year.
So you showed the signs of really having the ability

(24:06):
to be a really good quarterback. And I'm hoping, like
the rest of the Vikings fans out.

Speaker 9 (24:10):
There, that he is that.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Josh, are you able to watch. I know you get
a busy schedule. Are you able to watch the vikings
in real time? Or do you have to sort of
record it and watch it later.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
No, I watch it. I watch it as it's happening.
I went to the Bears game a few weeks ago
where they almost came back and won it. They didn't
deserve to win that game, but they still almost came
back and won it, which was unbelievable to me, and
then gave up that long kick return to you know,

(24:41):
but that's been kind of their story. You know, you
just and not just the Vikings, I mean this just
happening around the league. You know, you just cannot It's
hard to predict which team's going to show up which week.
And I think that's why we love the NFL, because
you can never really tell who's going to emerge. I
think this year, yah, I mean you look at you
look at the AFC with with the Patriots, who were

(25:07):
in the cellar last year and the year before, are
now I think of the number one seed, aren't they they?

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Will they? Broncos?

Speaker 5 (25:16):
Yeah, broncosk is another one. I mean the Broncos two
years ago were in the bottom. So I think that's
what makes the NFL so great. The parody is, you
know your team has always got a shot. This year
doesn't look like it's our year, but you know it
can turn around quickly.

Speaker 9 (25:34):
The fact that we're we're going into week fifteen and
no team has clinched a playoff spot. I don't ever
remember that before. There's no dominant team. So this year
above all others, it's like who's the favorite in the
a FC or the NFC. Like I honestly, I cover
it as closely as anybody. I have no idea. That's
that's the fun. You know, just about everybody's still alive

(25:54):
in this there's still paths for some teams to get in.
It's going to be a frantic final month.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
There. I think we got a one. Is that true?

Speaker 9 (26:03):
It's around there? Yeah, it might be. It might be
a somewhere I read you.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yeah, alright, guys, I gotta go, love you all and.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Uh, there you go. Thanks Ben, all right, guys, Thanks
you got there, Thank you see you later.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Bye bye.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
There he goes U the great Josh Ta Mel You
guys so so much in common. Tom and I thought
having you guys on at the same time. You're both
be yeah same height. Yeah, absolutely, yeah, exactly, And Dreker
again has his rough Cut beer and it's for sale
through December and two dollars from everyone sold goes to
the Detroit Lakes Boys and Girls Club. So thank you

(26:44):
so much to get it.

Speaker 9 (26:45):
If I'm I'm in a different part of the of
the country right now, how do I how do I
get beer?

Speaker 1 (26:51):
You're gonna have to go to Fargo. You're you gonna
have to send somebody to Fargo to get it, you know.
Thank you. Marnie brought a bunch of it back. It
was like Prohibition. She was like al Caponia today getting
back from Fargo with all.

Speaker 9 (27:01):
Then we don't have like the secret like the Prohibition
era trucks, you know where like also the guiles show
up that come in the back door, bring me a
few cases. I think we can work out with We
not be talking about that plan on the air, off air,
off air plan.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Yeah, So that's the rough Cut is Joshua MoU's mind
is called Mike Check. Grab some and support our charity's
minds for Reach Foundation, the Reach program out of Hutchinson
High School and such. So as we have dot com
tom on again thanks to our friends of Bell Bank
and for all of that stuff. And we'll get you
the information about what charity was nominated this week and
who's getting the money. But just taking a look around

(27:37):
the rest of the nfls we were just talking about
obviously what we have going on just in the NFC
North is incredible. Who's the best team in the NFC
North right now?

Speaker 9 (27:45):
In your opinion, I mean, you have to give it
to the Packers right now. They just beat the Bears Chicago.
I can't say enough about Ben Johnson and the job
that he's done. You know, in terms of flipping the
winning culture. You know, in big moments, they're not blowing
people out right, there's a long way they got to
go from a personnel perspective and getting the right people

(28:05):
for their schemes. But you watch them in those late
game situations, two minute situations, they're so dialed in. That's
a credit to coaching. And if Caleb Williams continues to
make strides just can become more efficient, They're going to
get better and better. If you look at Green Bay,
I mean four weeks ago we were on this show
talking about as you know, is Matt Lafluor coach for

(28:27):
his job and what's going to happen. And I kind
of brushed it off because Matt Lafluor has been one
of the most successful coaches in the NFL since he
got in in twenty nineteen. I mean, historic levels of
win percentage is in his early years in that job.
They went through a rough stretch in the Carolina game,
in the Philly game, but that was also you know,
they lost Tucker Kraft, who was their best player, you know,

(28:48):
other than maybe Josh Jacobs on that offense. They lose
them in the Carolina game, they didn't have Jayden and
Reed at that point. Christian Watson was just getting back.
They had all these moving parts. Well, all of a sudden,
now you're not getting Tucker Kraft back, but Jaden Reid
has returned. Christian Watson looks like a top twenty, maybe
top ten receiver in the NFL when he's healthy. Right now,
Josh Jacobs is still banged up, but he's finding a

(29:10):
way to play. Every week. You're seeing Jordan Love getting
better and better. And that defense, you know, as long
as the defense keeps playing that way, they're gonna have
a shout regardless what the offense is doing. You can
never count out the Lions. There once again one of
the most snake bit by injury teams in the entire NFL.
I mean, look at their secondary. They just lost Terry
on Arnold for the rest of the season because he

(29:31):
finally having the shoulder surgery. You know, they just lost
Brian Branch to a torn achilles, which is one of
the most versatile pieces on the back end. I mean,
they got spare parts, you know, at certain spots right now,
but they're very well coached. They're going to be in it.
I'd have to say the Packers, who are right now
on top of the standings, that's the team to beat.
But all three of those teams, for different reasons, are

(29:52):
teams that you know are gonna scare you a little
bit if you end up seeing him in January. I
think one of the big knocks when Thursday night Football
first started, as some of the game were terrible. Next
Thursday is the as of now is the ten and
three Los Angeles Rams against the ten and three Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 7 (30:11):
What a game to have on a Thursday night football.
Both those teams are stacked one and the Rams bounced back.

Speaker 9 (30:19):
You know, we're We had Gronk on The Insiders last
night and he was talking about, you know, the Rams
like that lost the Panthers. They were just kind of
feeling themselves a little too much. I think that it's
a real thing that happens through the course of the season.
Not that you're you know, playing down to the opponent
and not taking it seriously. But you know, seventeen games, man,
it's a long season to get up emotionally for every
single game Carolina, you know, that was a huge moment

(30:41):
for them, a huge win for them at home. Then
the Rams come back and despite Sean McVay, you know,
dealing with a pretty serious illness before the game, you know,
they came out ready to roll and they blasted a
Cardinals team that just as you know, they're they're gutted
by injuries on offense. Right now, the Seahawks are the
team that, you know, maybe above any other you know,
would worry me in the NFC right now, just because

(31:04):
Mike McDaniel's got them. Mike McDonald, excuse me, too many
Mike ems have got them so dialed in right now.
From a defensive perspective, there's tough as anybody, and then
offensively when we've seen them rolling, I mean, Jackson Smith
and Jigbas emerged as a superstar. The running game has
been a little bit bumpier than they want, but they
should get better and better. You know, they got an

(31:25):
interesting task this week against what's probably going to be
Philip Rivers starting a quarterback at forty four years old
after spending five years back in Alabama. That's who they're
going to be going up against on Sunday. Colt should
get a little bit of a bounce from that little juice.
We'll see what happens the first time that Philip got hit.
There's a little bit more of Philip to hit. And

(31:46):
you know, going in there, I mean, that's that's as
tough of a matchup and a venue to come back
from five years of coaching high school footballs, you're gonna
get unreal.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
What's wrong with the Eagles And is anybody there in trouble?

Speaker 9 (31:58):
I don't think that it's it's trouble in the way
that we think of you know, I mean Nick Sirianni's
not getting fired. You know, they've got to figure out
the offense and there's just so many things happening. You know,
you look at that game. You know there's moments where
you see, you know, they run a good variation off
the tush push since toss plays Saquon, it's a long touchdown.

(32:20):
You see those moments, but then you see other things.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
You know.

Speaker 9 (32:23):
Brian Baldinger, who you know, is a long time you know,
Philly guy and spends a lot of time in NFL films,
knows that team inside.

Speaker 7 (32:29):
Now.

Speaker 9 (32:29):
He looked at that last intercession by Jalen Hurts and
he said on our show, He's like, I don't know,
that's not That's not a throw that you see Jalen
Hurts make. That's not a play that they run. They've
just they've kind of they've just struggled to find their
identity higher season, and it's hard. You know, whether it's
you know, the games where aj Brown's dropping the ball,
whether it's you know, games where they're get away from

(32:50):
Saquon Barkley, they're just it's week fifteen, man, you should
know who you are. The Eagles offensively are still trying
to figure that part out. There been times where the
defense has not been as good as you would think
that they would be. Either there's a lot of things
going on, but here's the reality. Unless the Eagles completely
crash out and Cowboys beat the Vike, Eatans and roar
through the rest of this the Eagles are still going
to get in the playoffs. And there's still a team

(33:13):
who's got a lot of the same parts last year
that blasted the doors off the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
I still don't want to see the Eagles in the postseason,
but they're not as scary as the Eagles team that
we've seen in recent years.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
That is dot Com Tom Pellasaro.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
There.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
He is of the NFL Network and brought to you
by our friends of Bellbank. Tom, thank you so much
for your time. I'll do you the read on the
way out, but I again want to say thank you
to Bell Bank for making Tom available to us every Thursday.

That's awesome. So josh Jumel, Ben Lieber and Tom Pelsarah
was almost too sexy.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yeah, how was that?

Speaker 1 (34:25):
It was unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Yeah, I knew that Joshua might call in. I didn't
know what time today might be calling in. He kept
his word and called right in from the set of
Ransom Canyon television show. He's filming season two of.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Oh Really and Netflix for Netflix.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
When I saw the hotline ring, I'm like, who's calling?
And then did you hear Tom Pelisaro goes and we
panned a hawk and he's on the phone. No, I
did not have Yeah, it was kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, yeah, I was talking to my buddy.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Yeah, he's a great dude, it really is a good guy,
super nice guy. You were at his wedding.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
I still can't believe it. You know, that's cool, man,
It's the most famous thing that's ever happened to me.
He hadn't put me in his movie or his TV
show yet.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
No.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
I almost brought it up again, but I do it
every time I talk to you.

Speaker 7 (35:08):
Well, if they ever redo Las Vegas, you could be
in a guy in the background playing slots.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Maybe even by accident, Yeah, just an extra you're like cut.
There's a holmeless guy walking by in the background.

Speaker 7 (35:18):
Again, he's just power bombing the machine.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Could asking for money.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Look at him cursing that machine. Look at him, by
the way, Partner and Hope still going on wedding on
hundred and three zero three eleven thirty five for our
friends out K one two and Saint Jude one hundred
three zero three eleven thirty five, please call and become
a partner and hope for their Saint Jude radio thon.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
That's a great, wonderful thing that they do. Wonderful.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Do you want to hear something crazy? Of course, as
we get away from football for a moment, so you
know this time of years when you should be watching
Charlie Brown Christmas.

Speaker 7 (35:50):
Oh yeah, and you have to, as you always say,
you got to watch it on TV. You have to,
you gotta watch it with the commercials in there. That's
exactly right.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Well, there's been a documentary made with some really fun things.
You're gonna hear right now. Little snippet of the little
boy grown up who played Charlie Brown, followed by the
little boy grown up who played Linus, followed by the
little girl grown up who played Lucy. Talking about doing
the voice acting for the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

Speaker 11 (36:17):
I was about seven years old and I didn't really
know how to read that well. And you would feed
me the lines and I would do it word for word,
and you have a little Latino flavor to you.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
I said, we're back, We're back.

Speaker 12 (36:34):
I remember when I went into audition. I was seven
years old, but even at seven, I didn't still suck
my thumb. And I did have a blanket and I
did use that, and both Dull and Lee thus said, well,
that's that's Linus.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
I was picked as Lucy because I was told I
had a crabby voice.

Speaker 9 (36:54):
I'm not really sure if I liked that or not.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
No, no, no, listen all of you. You've got to
take direction. You've got to.

Speaker 9 (37:01):
Have discipline, you've got to have respect for your director.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
And here's Lie Mendelsom, one of the producers, talking about CBS.
The network actually did not like the show, but they
didn't receive the finished version until a week from air date,
so it was too late for them to cancel it.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
They had to run in.

Speaker 10 (37:19):
The two network executives who looked at it really didn't
like the show. They thought it was too slow, They
thought that the music didn't work, they thought the animation
was too simple. And I really believe if it hadn't
been scheduled for the following week, there's no way they
were going to broadcast that show.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Wow? So when did that come out?

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Sixty nine? I thinkers maybe even before that.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Let me look, I could see where they're coming from.

Speaker 6 (37:42):
Yeah, like if you didn't know like that was gonna
that was a good thing that the last time.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yeah, it is slow, the audio is kind of weird, and.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Uh, but yeah, sixty five sixty five, Wow, man, what
a show.

Speaker 7 (37:58):
It's so good, all good, The Halloween one's good. Yeah,
they're all lights please.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Oh so good. I know, man, Yeah, I love how
the adults talk.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Yeah, it's the best.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
We like going to Abbot's office.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
I didn't even go in there anymore.

Speaker 7 (38:12):
Yeah, why would you. We watched Louis and I watched
Frosty the other day when you were thrown up. No
that was last week. No, we didn't watch anything yesterday.
It's so good. Frosty's good. The Rudolph the Red Nose
Reindeer is good.

Speaker 9 (38:27):
Man.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
They treat Rudolph horrible, terrible.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
Jesus, his dad hates him.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Everybody get out of here with that freak nose.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Yeah, a bunch of freaks.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Then Santa needs him, and.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Yeah, Sanna's not real nice to him.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Santa hates him.

Speaker 5 (38:42):
I know.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Here, Santa hates him, and then they need him and
then and.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
I guess that's the that's the lesson.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Everybody's got a purpose, right.

Speaker 7 (38:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, there you go. The Land of
Misfit Toys is great.

Speaker 2 (38:55):

Speaker 7 (38:55):

Speaker 1 (39:04):

Speaker 2 (39:07):
You do, ah, oh that poor guy.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
How you feeling You're still good?

Speaker 2 (39:14):

Speaker 7 (39:17):

Speaker 5 (39:18):

Speaker 7 (39:18):

I never want to take it for granted, so you don't.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
I love it. I'm glad that we could do this together.
That was fun. Yeah, you're gone tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
