for the twenty twenty five Initials Invitational. So you got to get one to
get on the board. If youget one point in the past, you
were locked in. Now that justgets you eligibility. That just makes you
(03:57):
available to make the tournament, butdoesn't guarante at two points today guarantees the
spot in next year's tournament. Theother change this year. If you lose
but run up a big score. The top three non winning scores plus ties
get wild cards. So even ifsomebody runs away with us, you want
to get as many points as possibleto guarantee yourself a spot next year,
or at least have an outside shotat a wild card. Everybody understand,

Credit Union Initials vault. Over inthat vault all nine quarter final games one
through nine. The lowest seed, which happens to be Fondness, gets to
pick a number one through nine, and that's the list we play. So
(05:08):
it might be a list that hitsyou right between the eyes and it might
be a list that you're like,I don't really know three or four of
these things. That's the luck ofthe draw. So as Chris reads how
the jackpot works, I'm gonna goopen up the vault and then we'll go
from there. The Saint Paul FederalCredit Union initials jackpot is currently it's seventy

it is number ten of b Hnumber one. It's an informal, commonly
(18:23):
humorously used term. Kevin here,God go for it, Boulder holders right,
you're just looking at Falness like aproblem. I guess is officially legendary.
(18:45):
Oh my god, you said itso confidently, prol Kevin. What
percent chance did you think that wasright about one? I didn't think there

(20:29):
getting the last two. Dough hasseven freaking points. Here's number eleven of
b H. Clue number one. This is not considered ideal playing with doe.
Clue number two is a is astructure or arrangement. Clue number three

mean Hammock had dark eye, right, your sinister? What is that look
(21:41):
like? Breaking? Do Young Parkgoing for the all time tie? He's
going for nine if he simply getsnumber twelve? Hey, cor yes,
sir, that was the consecutive pointsrecord. Correct answers by a player?
What six in a row? Orwhat was it seven in a row?
Sure, exactly what it is.But that's what we have, jeez infirmation.
(22:03):
So record setting performances are enavable, all righty to witness history. You
got the first one. You wereyelling fro Young It all comes out of
this. Here's number twelve. DoYoung Park going for a ninth point?
Which would tie the all time recordfive hundred and twenty five games in the
rear view mirror in game five twentysix, you would tie the record.
Here's number twelve of BH. Cluenumber one involves lifting and moving clue number
(22:37):
two involves sorting. Clue number threeis tipped in some situations. Clue number
four they are involved in aspects ofcustomer service. Clue number five they load
(23:04):
and unload dough for the all timetie baggage hands. He's just a machine,
My god, the guy's a machinethat was sick. My god.
Nine is the all time record jMonts who meets aus Paul to survive in
(23:29):
advanced Holy? And what was thatlike? Eight straight? Hang on?
When did you When was the lastone? You didn't get? Black Hills?
The one he gave to me thebad bad habits, bad habits was
fullness? So he went three up, one two record last eight for consecutive
correct answers. My sweet next job, Holy, where was the where was
(23:53):
this energy on Jeopardy when I wasactually boy man and he actually miss batting
helmet? The one thing you're youknow, you know, when I get
to work Gleaming and the bonus isthere that that's what they're going to take
away from speaking of that, andyou're going to get a letter from the
commissioner tomorrow. Doll. Now you'vegot to go anti Gleaming, right because
Gleaman put on a clinic what twoyears ago, and then got absolutely destroyed
(24:15):
I think in round two if Iremember right. So you can't let that
gleaming sophomore slum thing happened to youwhen you have the semis here in like
a month and he said, Icommand the box and I move over the
other side. Can't be that wasinsane. I mean, that was insane.
That's domination. Domination. I wouldnot have competed with you at all.
(24:36):
I'm glad I was not playing today. Thanks, Thanks, I appreciate
Alen. Your debut is going tobe shortliveding you are eliminated if my summer
is wide open, not even asingle day they have to mark on the
calendar. So Max, how aboutsome credit for the people that do beeat?
(24:56):
I mean we helped lift him tothe status. I think there's some
kind of credit that goes our way. Yeah, you'll always be remembered,
Yanks. Here's what I am veryconfident about is Sauce is going to say
that Doe had an easy path andit's not fair that he and AJ got
nine against regulars, and that youknow he smoked you for Hey, you're
(25:17):
obsessed with me. Stop always thinkingabout me and b I'm right, that's
impressive. But you but but butyou didn't do it. Yeah, it's
it's fine. The Alan Horton, you would have been better better bringing a
mop and bucketed. I was thinkingabout who of the Power Trip was was
(25:41):
going to make the radio broadcast nextyear. I think we eliminated one of
them down to Corey and Chris. We can fit both of you guys for
considers me how many times I playedthis game? How many times your second
time? Second time? Okay,I'll tell you that. Wait to set
a record again people that have barelyplayed out. I got where do you
(26:03):
put in your money or your mouth? That? I love it? It
comes. Wow, congratitude. Thatwas very good. You did your best.
We all did and said boulder holders, which be my favorite player of
all time, which is one ofthe best guesses of all time. And
again when it got to the answer, and it was banana hammock, not
nearly as preposterous as when we alllaughed at you d percent, it was.
(26:25):
It was close. I had totake a shot just wrong gender.
Yeah, it was on my listthat and buttole of course I crossed them
both off at literally just one word. But you know what I think?
So pretty sure it is ned tobe ready for anything. Well again,
I blame Kevin Folmans for picking apacket number one. I blame myself.
Agreed, I think that might havehappened regardless, that's right. I got
(26:47):
one. Yeah good man, allright, yeah that's all I needed.
Must How would you have? Iwould also have gone with the boulder holder
shocking, yeah, every one ofthem fit. It was, Oh,
congratulations, how do you feel?Don't I mean you think your this is
your year? What again? Icame into last year? This was the
discourse I thing. I bounced inthe first round and survive in advance mode
(27:11):
only shouts to a shouts to mygirlfriend in Madison, because I was just
pound in old episodes as I wasdriving back on nine ninety yesterday or two
days ago or whenever that little studyprap did you do that faonless? I
did? I had bikini line onFriday only when I could come up on
right on, not break lays brother, be surprised, Banana Hammick or boulder
(27:32):
holders. Don't I expect you towin the whole thing though. You can't
put that pressure. You have tothrive with low expectations nine. The expectations
have risen. There's no doubt youare. I would be shocked if power
t you Beth doesn't adjust the oddsand say you're essentially the favorite moving forward.
If you win a cookie dinner forfree at Mara, whoa, that's
(27:52):
it. And if you don't haveno, no, no, and if
you don't win, don't ever trymaking a rest six from the reservations.
How would you have done? Honestly, sas got two, I had broken
heart after the first glue. Iwouldn't have guessed baked Ham. I would.
(28:19):
I mean, I mean they wereThat was unbelievable, unbelievable. Good
job. Congratulations aster risk or noasterisk. I mean you put up nine
against anybody. That's impressive, itreally is. That's a that's a tough
number. It's only been done threetimes now. That's incredible, I think,
And I don't have this in frontof me. It must have been
(28:40):
Power Trip Initials that tweeted this. But I think didn't liber have six or
seven in a row. I thinkliber had the record for most consecutives way
back in the day, something likethat, but he went on a crazy
run to do it. I wonderif that's the one that uh the dough
just be with eight straight? Wouldyou have accepted bell hop for the last
one? Oh? People were askingon the no, Okay, I don't
(29:06):
think so. Because people were askingon the street, I had not thought
of that. Bagga Handler was definitelywhat I was going for, all right,
all right? Quarterfinal number one inthe books, quarterfinal number two on
for Friday. Who places Friday RhodeIsland either a road nor an Island discussed
Friday, July twenty six, Sothat would be the eighth seed. Marny

Gawner the number eighteen seed, JoeO'Donnell of the Wild Radio Network, Brandon
Maleski is the twentieth seed. Tennabemakes his appearance on Friday. We get
Tommy on Thursday and Tommy on Fridaybecause the thirty first seed, Tommy Yolsen
is playing on Friday. And thenfrom caraleven number thirty nine, Alicia Lewis,
who returns to the initials invitation.Yeah, I think ten might take
(29:52):
that one. That's pretty good.Marny's kind of killing it this year.
I'm going Marn's on Friday. Yeah, I think this is her year to
at least get out around one andthen I haven't seen the bracket, but
hopefully she doesn't run into Dyan roundtwo. Oh my god, would it
be lined up if I If Bonusmade it past, That's all I need
in life. Yeah, now youmight be getting greedy, so you can
bary Bonus plays this group. He'llget nine about hitting me in the second
(30:18):
round and okay, I don't Whatdo you think of the Hall of Fame
speech from Mauryah? I barely hadthe chance to listen to it, honestly,
because they did the thing where theyscheduled it right over an active game
that I was covering story about itat the time. Yeah, that's ridiculous.
You said you had audio, though, Chris or what? I got
some audio? You want to hearsome of it? Sure? I'm here's
him talking about being from Minnesota.I grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota
(30:45):
with my parents, two older brothers, and my grandpa, Jake Mauer.
Much of my early childhood was spentwatching Twins games and pretending to be a
Big leaguer in my backyard and atvarious neighborhood parks with my brother. Many
of those parks were the same fieldsthat fellow Hall of Famers Day Winfield,
Paul Malletor and Jack Morris played onas well. That's pretty cool. It
(31:10):
is pretty cool. Yeah, man, the Minnesota kidding me going going to
games at the Metrodome, sad.I miss that. On the other side,
I heard enough nightmare stories some colleaguesof not only trying to get to
Cooperstown, which is tough and thecalmest of seas, and then with all
the travel stuff going on right now. Oh man, absolutely, this is
an impossible question unless you just readit in the last twenty four hours.
(31:30):
But do you have any idea whatpercentage of people that make the Hall of
Fame are one team Hall of Famers? No, but I should, But
there's I mean, there's probably gonnabe a lot fewer of those moving forward,
right all right? Gosh sure, yeah, yeah, he talks about
that exact thing here. I'd liketo thank the pole Ad family for allowing
me to wear one jersey my entirecareer and being able to play at home
in front of my family, friendsand amazing Minnesota fans. I wanted to
(32:00):
be a twin from day one,and that decision never wavered. In eighteen
years. Thank you for that opportunityand your belief and supporting me through it
all. It was truly an honorto be a part of your organization and
represent my hometown team. Wow.You know, I'm such a legend completely,
And it doesn't seem like he playedthat many years, But I think
that's because we started the morning showthe year he was drafted into the MLB,
(32:22):
and so we were on for hisentire career, and then he retired
and we're still on at least untiltoday. We'll see what happens. Yeavin
You ever cooked for him? Oh? Yeah, absolutely? What's he like?
He's such a great guy. Youknow. I have a funny Joe
story too, when what did youjust say? Is he a pig?
Does he just embarrass himself at thetable? Terrible table manners? Is what
(32:45):
is wrong with all the lots oflots lot lots of morning radio? Yeah,
he still got nine points that I'mshocked. I'm not shocked. I'm
shocked. So anyway, so I'lltell you a quick story. So my
son and I were going to theVikings, were playing this was the Minneapolis
Miracle game. Okay, snowing likecrazy outside, and I took it to
(33:06):
the Wild Game. So thankfully, because of my status of the Wild and
since we cooked for them, Ican walk down the stairs and kind of
go through the locker room and thengo up to the go up to the
arena, and so that's how wewent. And so Joe and his wife
were standing down there outside of thelocker room there with all these TVs that
sort of hang around, and he'sstanding there and he's watching the Vikings game
and he's like, I think they'regoing to come back. And so Joe,
(33:29):
his wife, my son, andI are standing there were watching the
Minneapolis miracle happen and backstage before goingup to the Wild Game, and and
Kevin probably remembers this, but theywere they were playing the national anthem at
the exact moment that he caught thatfootball all cheers and it was just insane
wow. And the lower Bowl waspractically empty, which you never see anthem
(33:51):
is usually, that's right, buteveryone was in the concourse watching the game
and they all cheered during the anthemerea you could hear it. And I
remember talking to one of the playersafterwards and I said, did you know
what happened? They're like, wehad no idea, had no idea what
was going on at the time, and so and so we watch and we
say, you know, Joe andI were talking to each other and then
we go sit down and the lookat my son. I said, you
know who that was? He said, no, it was it that And
(34:13):
I told him. He's like,wow, he's a huge basement. He
was blown away. So the superBols played on that same night too,
That's that's amazing. And it wason the jumbo tron in the arena.
There's some people milling about and Ialways remember that the tea there was some
TV broadcasters on the table and theyhad a feed that was a little bit
quicker than the jumbo trons. Sopeople on the table are yelling and then
all of a sudden, everybody turnsaround sees it up on the big train.
