Every Friday around 8:15-8:20 a.m. on KFAN 100.3 the Power Trip Morning show plays the Initials Game. The game involves 12 items people, place, things, phrases or anything as long as they share the same initials. All 12 items share the same initials. The contestants do not know the initials until they are revealed shortly before the game starts. Each item has 6 clues. As soon as the contestants know who or what the host is describing, they yell out their name. Their name is their buzzer. If the contestant gets it right, they get a point. If they get it wrong they are out for just that item. The item does have to be pronounced correctly. It is best out of 12 with tiebreakers if needed. Tiebreaker items have 3 clues.

him talking about being from Minnesota.I grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota

with my parents, two older brothers, and my grandpa, Jake Mauer.
Much of my early childhood was spentwatching Twins games and pretending to be a
Big leaguer in my backyard and atvarious neighborhood parks with my brother. Many
of those parks were the same fieldsthat fellow Hall of Famers Day Winfield,
Paul Malletor and Jack Morris played onas well. That's pretty cool. It
(31:10):
is pretty cool. Yeah, man, the Minnesota kidding me going going to
games at the Metrodome, sad.I miss that. On the other side,
I heard enough nightmare stories some colleaguesof not only trying to get to
Cooperstown, which is tough and thecalmest of seas, and then with all
the travel stuff going on right now. Oh man, absolutely, this is
an impossible question unless you just readit in the last twenty four hours.
(31:30):
But do you have any idea whatpercentage of people that make the Hall of
Fame are one team Hall of Famers? No, but I should, But
there's I mean, there's probably gonnabe a lot fewer of those moving forward,
right all right? Gosh sure,yeah, yeah, he talks about
that exact thing here. I'd liketo thank the pole Ad family for allowing
me to wear one jersey my entirecareer and being able to play at home
in front of my family, friendsand amazing Minnesota fans. I wanted to
(32:00):
be a twin from day one,and that decision never wavered. In eighteen
years. Thank you for that opportunityand your belief and supporting me through it
all. It was truly an honorto be a part of your organization and
represent my hometown team. Wow.You know, I'm such a legend completely,
And it doesn't seem like he playedthat many years, But I think
that's because we started the morning showthe year he was drafted into the MLB,
(32:22):
and so we were on for hisentire career, and then he retired
and we're still on at least untiltoday. We'll see what happens. Yeavin
You ever cooked for him? Oh? Yeah, absolutely? What's he like?
He's such a great guy. Youknow. I have a funny Joe
story too, when what did youjust say? Is he a pig?
Does he just embarrass himself at thetable? Terrible table manners? Is what
(32:45):
is wrong with all the lots oflots lot lots of morning radio? Yeah,
he still got nine points that I'mshocked. I'm not shocked. I'm
shocked. So anyway, so I'lltell you a quick story. So my
son and I were going to theVikings, were playing this was the Minneapolis
Miracle game. Okay, snowing likecrazy outside, and I took it to
(33:06):
the Wild Game. So thankfully,because of my status of the Wild and
since we cooked for them, Ican walk down the stairs and kind of
go through the locker room and thengo up to the go up to the
arena, and so that's how wewent. And so Joe and his wife
were standing down there outside of thelocker room there with all these TVs that
sort of hang around, and he'sstanding there and he's watching the Vikings game
and he's like, I think they'regoing to come back. And so Joe,
(33:29):
his wife, my son, andI are standing there were watching the
Minneapolis miracle happen and backstage before goingup to the Wild Game, and and
Kevin probably remembers this, but theywere they were playing the national anthem at
the exact moment that he caught thatfootball all cheers and it was just insane
wow. And the lower Bowl waspractically empty, which you never see anthem
(33:51):
is usually, that's right, buteveryone was in the concourse watching the game
and they all cheered during the anthemerea you could hear it. And I
remember talking to one of the playersafterwards and I said, did you know
what happened? They're like, wehad no idea, had no idea what
was going on at the time,and so and so we watch and we
say, you know, Joe andI were talking to each other and then
we go sit down and the lookat my son. I said, you
know who that was? He said, no, it was it that And
(34:13):
I told him. He's like,wow, he's a huge basement. He
was blown away. So the superBols played on that same night too,
That's that's amazing. And it wason the jumbo tron in the arena.
There's some people milling about and Ialways remember that the tea there was some
TV broadcasters on the table and theyhad a feed that was a little bit
quicker than the jumbo trons. Sopeople on the table are yelling and then
all of a sudden, everybody turnsaround sees it up on the big train.
Oh that's so cool. I putBreaking's Wild and Wolves all playing on
(34:36):
that same day. Crazy for thatgame. Wow, guys, thanks for
