Every Friday around 8:15-8:20 a.m. on KFAN 100.3 the Power Trip Morning show plays the Initials Game presented by Wolf River Electric (WolfRiverElectric.com).

The game involves 12 items people, place, things, phrases or anything as long as they share the same initials. All 12 items share the same initials. The contestants do not know the initials until they are revealed shortly before the game starts. Each item has 6 clues. As soon as the contestants know who or what the host is describing, they yell out their name. Their name is their buzzer. If the contestant gets it right, they get a point. If they get it wrong they are out for just that item. The item does have to be pronounced correctly. It is best out of 12 with tiebreakers if needed. Tiebreaker items have 3 clues.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Hi, guys, I know you're going to get to the
Initials game. Hello everybody, So we'll get to you real quickly.
But Pa just sat down beside me and he just
finished talking to the coach, and the coach just finished
with his press conference. I was able to jump in
for a second just let you know that it's official
that O'Neill and Gank and Jurgens are out, amongst a
couple of others. He said CJ. Hamm was questionable, but
I would believe he would play. Paul, I know you

(01:13):
talked to coach a little bit. There any other information
before we throw it to the initials game.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
Well, for the Vikings this Sunday, this will be their
twelfth different offensive line combination that they've used. That's not preferable.
So on the pre game you'll hear me say, hey,
coach might want to cover his ears with this one,
but of course he already knew, So you're going to
go Darisaw left right. Dari saw Joe Huber. He started

(01:38):
like right around twenty five games at guard his last
two seasons in college. Your center is going to be
Blake Brendall, never has taken a snap as a center
in the National Football League game in a regular season game.
Certainly Will Fries right guard, and Justin's school is your
right tackle.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Coach.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Coach is ready to go home.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Well, it's interesting listening to his press conference and then
us chatting with him on the side the way we did,
because early in the week when I did x's and o's,
you know, I went down the road of human nature
gets to win too. Okay, that's just a fact of life.
So given you know this, multiple multiple countries, and you're

(02:22):
you're going to be gone a week and a half
and the bye comes up after this game, you know,
do you have to guard against you know, players or
coaches or whomever casting their gays the way of the
break and the you know, like here on this Friday,
being like, man, I can't wait to get home. And
then you know, he was talking about how this group
is not really that group, but it is something he

(02:43):
will bring up. He just seemed a little tired today,
just seemed like not down, but just like a little fatigue.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yeah, it's it's a big difference. Last thing that we'll
let you because the Initials game is coming up right now.
Somebody's gonna win about one hundred.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Thousand barning play.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
I liked about one hundred on Marney if you don't mind.
That's why I got to she doesn't fall in front
of the wire.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
That's the point I told them the story about the
horsey going nose first. Are you willing to say how
many pounds you lost last night when that nose went
into the ground.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Fifty pounds. But that that one, okay, was unfortunate. But
the seven to one spody that we had, you know,
and we were going to scoop some significant pounds on
that sucker loses by that much. So we were seeing
it clearly last night. However, we could not get over
the proverbial.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Hump a pa.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
You know, I don't normally keep an eye on the stream.
Zach likes to monitor during initials and things like that.
But obviously, with this week and Chris being in England,
a lot of times I have the video up to
see what Chris is up, to see who's behind him,
you know what the vibe is in in England, and
I have the chat up. And I just noticed that
Erica commented when you sat down, quote, it's a little
early for Santa. Okay, Well, thoughts, if I'm Erica, I

(03:57):
would want I would want Christmas to come early. I
would want Santa to deliver gifts at any time, so
fair enough to find a.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Positive in that nice spin. It's better than being called
already lang, but not as good as Michael McDonald. Come, Holly,
I want to I want to go against me anybody?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah yeah, all right, there we go. Let's just go
all right, let's go with that boone Doc. I got you, Bye, guys,
See you guys next week. So you guys.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Hockey and Paul Allen live from England again. Chris uh
not on the show on Monday because they're kind of traveling.

Happy Trails gets Marnie point number three. Gosh, I think
we're all a little too young for this. But I
guess that was Roy.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Rogers' big thing. He would say happy trails. That was
the next clue.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Do you guys ever watched Roy Rogers gone up at
all my way before minds, but.

Speaker 2 (17:08):

Speaker 2 (18:37):
That was an assist.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
High is the right answer, And Marnie is starting to pull away.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
Well, I mean, I feel like Belinda Jensen gives us
the two different high temperatures of the day.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Now, this is now arrogant.

Speaker 8 (18:51):

Speaker 8 (20:18):
That the one that goes around the next exactly.

Speaker 7 (20:23):
Thanks.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
That's it all right.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
There are five to go, Alicia, you need all your
time money, but let's just get on the board. Uh, Marty,
you have a four point lead with five to go.
If you get any of the remaining items, you're already
the winner.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
And if I can just point out that if you
get the last five, you break the record. Four out
of the last five would tie the record, which is sauce.
A couple of times A j and Doe Young Park
have all reached nine in the past. Marty has five,
Parish has one. Sauce has one. Here's number eight of HT.
Clue number one is aggressive and unwelcome.

Speaker 7 (21:01):

did you have it? Yeah, and you just chickened out.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Oh man, Wait, hostile takeover. Parish number kicks me one morning.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
What is that saying? It's a tough one?

Speaker 5 (22:06):
All right?

Speaker 1 (22:07):
You have two points, Marnie you have five, Sauce you
have one.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
So Marny, the situation is still the same for you.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Sauce, you need the last four to TIEAs But Marnie,
you're up three on parishal same situation. If you get
any of the remaining four, you're still the winner. Here's
number nine of each t mess things up. The first
word is used to imply an intensity or an amplification.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
Number one.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Oh my gosh, I didn't even say this. I love
that I didn't even say the clue writing you still
let me let me see if I can read it correctly,
and we're down to the other three. Let me start
over number one. The first word is used to imply
an intensity or an amplification.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Word, not a bad guess.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Clue number two.

Speaker 2 (23:01):

Speaker 1 (23:43):
The zeroing in on the hot though the intensity that
was absolutely correct. Guess the wrong one but still hot. Wow.
Again interesting, that's what I couldn't read, and you still
figured out what I was trying to do. Well done,
all right, hot Tea gets a Sauce point number two.

(24:04):
Now the situation is this, Marns, Sauce, and Parish are
both three back. One of them has to run the
table any other combination and you're the winner.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
So Alisha's on your team.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
I am Marny going for the Parish and Sauce, each
individually trying to run the table.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Here's number ten. Marty going for the win.

Speaker 1 (24:22):

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Get in there before wherever you're ending up later. Just
get in there first.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
The hot tub is incorrect, Parish, you need this otherwise.
Marnie is the winner. Here is the final clue of
number ten. Clue number six. These are used to house
fish or marine mammals before the main enclosure five four.

Speaker 6 (25:40):
Marny for the wind holding tank.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
That's a holding tank. That is the wind for miss
Marnie Gilling there, that's a whole I wanted to ring.

Speaker 8 (25:51):
It is so bad, but it was completely blending.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
All right, Martin's you lock up the victory. That's point
number six, but there's two to go. Alicia, you can still.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Get orry you lost your money. Parish sauce one doesn't care.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
He doesn't care. Got us bet on more horses all right?
Two ago, Just for fun, run up the score. Here's
number eleven of h T. Clue number one might get loud.
Clue number two takes off Clue number three. You could

(26:27):
argue might be the start of a maze. What Clue
number four shapes? Clue number five used in total heads trimmers?

Speaker 2 (26:54):
There we go.

Speaker 11 (26:56):
Number, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
You can't hear hedge trimmer and not think edwards scissorhands correct, Like,
that's the division I had in I had for the
rest of time is that you're making dragons and shapes
and mazes. Oft it well, scissors in his case, but
hedge trimmers otherwise, all right, Alicia's on the board. Nobody
could shut out. Marty has six sauce and Parish have two.
Alicia has one final item HT clue number one.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
This involves body part placement.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Clue number two going with the flow or taking it easy.
Clue number three might be followed by a dude hmm.
Clue number four.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
This originated Mark yep, ten, that's right, that is ten.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Wait to answer with the thirty mark.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Look, I've a we can get to Marnie and great
clips in a second. I've admitted on this show sometimes
when you grow up, you just think one thing and.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Then you grew up and you're like, wow, I've been
wrong my entire life.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Like I've admitted, I thought bedbugs were just something that
my mom used to scare me with. I didn't know
they were a real thing. I thought it was just
an idea. I thought Getty Lee of Rush was a
woman until I was on the show when I was
like twenty three or twenty five. Didn't know Getty's an
ambiguous name. I thought the lead singer A Rush was
a woman. Didn't help it happens.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I swear to you.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
I never put much thought into I didn't know what
hang ten meant until I did this freaking item.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Do you guys know where it came from?

Speaker 7 (28:34):
I didn't Hawaiian.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, a surfing thing. All of what you just said,
I understand the ten the size of like the wave
or something. Nope, I didn't know any of this.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
It's literally because they hanged ten toes off the edge
of the board.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
I didn't know that. I thought it was like hang
ten man. I thought it was some to your point.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
I thought it was some reference to the size of
the wave or the numbers. I had no idea. Yeah,
it's a surfing thing. I don't get it. It literally
means hanging ten toes off the side of the board.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Huh is that how we all learned something?

Speaker 7 (29:03):
You throw your toes around?

Speaker 1 (29:05):
No, there are people, No, but there are people that
do that, and then hey, what are you doing hanging ten?

Speaker 2 (29:10):
So I always hang ten?

Speaker 1 (29:11):
I honestly always thought it was like fingers because they
saw the pictures of the surfers are always just kind of.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Hanging their arms down.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Also makes sense. Fingers never thought of it, though, So
we learned something. See today wasn't a complete waste of time.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Hand it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Thank you Corey, your marns. You got six You're the winner.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
