Speaker 1 (00:01):
Oh, I'm so glad we connected. Ali survived a member
of NCRI parliament in exile. I appreciate you being flexible
late last week. Of course, you know, I was thinking
to this tragedy that took place here in the States

(00:22):
is while I'm still stunned by it, and I will
be for a good long time, I have you on
to talk about Iran, and I've learned so much from
you and other guests. Now I'm connecting with young people
whose parents fled around years ago and they weren't even
raised there, who want to be able to go home,

(00:43):
go to a place they're technically from but have never
been to. And you were flexible when I said, you know,
a man was killed for speaking, and this is a
daily occurrence in Iran. This to you, to a ragni
and this is commonplace.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Absolutely absolutely it was correct.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
It was a chilling moment when I realized, even down
to artists, because I saw a story that really moved
me about an artist, the execution of an artist, along
with a handful of other people, just their art alone
was viewed as dissent.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yes, exactly, You're absolutely correct. I think in no country today,
freedom of speech and freedom of Assembly is as suppressed
as it is in Iran under the current regime. You
may know just this, it's still called New Models. President

(01:48):
took office in August. Close to eighteen hundred have been executed,
including many dissidents. Two members of the NEK were handed
in July and fifty more are on death row, and
one hundred and seventy were executed just in the amount
of August. That's almost six persons every day, one every

(02:12):
four hours, which gives you some sense of what is
happening within the country. But I think that the upside
of it is that more and more people are joining
the ranks of the resistance, not only within Iran, but
also outside Iran. You mentioned the Ivanians who have been

(02:34):
vaging their views known although they were not even born
in Yvon and I was in Brussels. Not this is
that it is September sixth. There were tens of thousands
of people there and what caught my eye and I
think many other observers, there were so many young men

(02:55):
and women, you know, the fourth generation of Ivanian as,
most of who were born outside Iran, but they were
as inspired and as reciferous calling for freedom in Evans
as there are many others, and of course just this

(03:16):
next Tuesday, outside the YUN thousands are going together in
New York City protesting their presence of the Ringian president
at the u N and calling for accountability and hauling him.
And obviously there are this regime before an international fibernal
for four decades of chrimates, humanity and genocide. So yet,

(03:41):
of course the downside is the watching the if you will,
treasures of our country, human treasures of our country being
basically wiped out. But on the other hand, the resolve
and the determination of the unions, whether with Iran or outside,

(04:03):
has never been so strong. In fact, as we speak,
on Saturday and Sunday, there were protests in very many
cities across Iran against the policies of this regime in
even the southeast province of Baluchistan system Balucia Stone which

(04:27):
is an im published province, and also oil workers and
the formers in Tehran are aluminum company. Thousands of their
workers four thousands also held their rally and they have
like a protests that has been going on for forty
four days. So it seems to me that despite this

(04:52):
theramatic despite in the number of executions that the regime
has failed to extinguish the desire of the the new
people will see them and in many ways, Elon is
like your power cakes. And who knows when another spark
will lead to a major uprising, which even Magine's official
admits will be more ferocious and much bigger in the

(05:16):
scale than the ones we have witnessed in the past
few years.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
And again we have Ali Savavi back on. He's been
one of my key correspondents and educators as far as
all things Iran And that being the case, let's wade
into these waters and you can help me with this
because I know a recent development is that the International

(05:43):
Atomic Energy Agency there was a resolution there at least
it's viewed by Iranians as a resolution correct, and a
UN watchdog is being blamed for double standards as far
as blocking this resolution.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Well, actually what has happened is that, as you may know,
the Europeans, finally, after twenty some years of procrastination and
concessions to this regime, have come to the conclusion that
Devonian regime has been playing them all along. And so

(06:23):
they told the regime, the officials, the counterparts that unless
you agree with what the IAEA said in latest be
bought back in June that your answers to the unanswered
questions that we have had regarded IVANU program, that we're
going to reactivate the duty Council resolutions that were suspended

(06:49):
after Devon nuclear deal. And so the IAA Directed General
met with Devenian regimes for in minister and other official
was in Tairran, I'm sorry in Cairo, and they said
that they have reached an agreement. But as soon as
the suicides less and before the ink on that agreement

(07:10):
was dry, the regime said, well, you know, we can't
agree to anything that the Iranian regime parliament cannot approve,
and after all the Supreme National Security Council may must
make all these decisions. So it's very apparent that the
monosos are not going to walk the walk and they're

(07:35):
not going to give up the nuclear program. For then,
the nuclear weapons program is their life insurance policy. They
saw what happened in Iraq, they saw what happened in Syria,
they saw what happened in Libya, and of course they
see what happened in the Ukraine. And so then the
only if you will leborate that less now that they

(07:57):
have stopped tremendous losses in in the Middle East, it
has that gone, which has a lot decapitated. Who is
on the attack. The only leverage they have is the
nuclear work program, and they dangle it before the inn
out of community to basically blackmail the Western countries, which
is why we have set all along. And that was

(08:17):
the message of the huge valley in Brussels and will
be the message in the valley in New York next
week that look, there's no room for any more hesitation
on the part of the European countries. They must basically
join this policy of maximum pressure and activate those human

(08:39):
resolutions to deny the Vision from not only getting the
resources with which it can get the bomb, but also
suppressed living in people.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
And what about the fact that Iranian officials they planned
to hold negotiations with the one hundred and eighty member
states of the conference, but are admitting it's possible a
resolution won't even be put to a vote. How to
remain optimistic in the face.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Of that, Well, I think, you know, I think the
UNC City Council has decide, but it is very unlikely
that nine non virtual wielding powers will vote for the resolution. No,
I think if it comes most likely Fans and Britain

(09:32):
will veto it. So that's a good thing because it
will deny Russia and China as they have done in
the past to basically play to the wins of Vanni
regime and so themains to be seen, of course, what
will happen next week, but from all indications there is

(09:54):
some drama of hope that finally, after so many years
of dragging this whole situation along, that the international community,
minus China and Russia, is going to hold their Runian
regime accountable for many years of deception, denyland dislicity. When

(10:15):
it comes to the nuclear weakness program, remember that right now,
as you know, the world has a lot of problems
with the Running regime and they're not even yet nuclear armed.
Imagine if they did impact at the Bond where would
we be? And you know that would present a very
present and immediate danger to not only regional security but

(10:36):
also the global peace. So I think this is why
we have been saying all along that the world must
be decisive. Although from our point of view, the vible
and effective solution to all of this is to recognize
the right of the Irnian people to top of this
regime and establish a democratic, secular, non nuclear republic in

(10:59):
the country.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
That's but America's got to play, I think, the right
role here, and it seems like it's getting increasingly difficult.
I mean, it's Trump who would cut the funding. He's
cutting funding to a lot of things here in the States.
Some that hardball is need be played. I don't know
that it needs to be played here. When I saw

(11:22):
his former Vice President Pence speak at the Free Iran
A rally in Brussels, and I heard he did a
wonderful time. I watched a speech, it was a great speech,
But it's I don't know that they're on the same
page about Iran, and I don't think they've even stayed
in touch since Pence was VP.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
That might be the case. I think perhaps the people
in the administration know that this regime in Iran is
not the one you can trust and trust they're not
gonna they have light all along and they say one
thing in your space, and they do exactly the opposite

(12:01):
when they have their ways. And I think Western government
must come to the realization that the Mullers will never,
under any circumstances give up the nuclear wesness program, because
if you do that, then they have nothing with which
to blackmail and pressure the West.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah, that's it, and we have to be aware of
that and finally act on that and put an end
to the threat of you know, to me, my concern
was always selfish, mister Savavi, the threat that hung over
my head. You know, I always reference to you in

(12:44):
nineteen seventy nine, and you know, being a fourteen year
old kid in school. But that's a decidedly different threat
over my head than has been over the head of
every Iranian little boy and girl for decad AIDS for
fifty sixty years on a daily basis. Yes, so the

(13:05):
time is coming. I hope the rally in Brussels has
begun a momentum that can be sustained and get to
a place where the regime is overthrown and someone trustworthy
is put into power and that lingering threat can be
put to rest for all.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yes, I think that will happen, I'm sure. And you know,
the good thing about it is that unlike nineteen seventy nine,
when the democratic opposition had been decimated by this shaw
and imprisoned or killed, now you have a robot and
democratic opposition, both within Iran in the form of resistance
units and of course outside Iran in the NCRII. It

(13:47):
has a ten point plan which is actual. He is
living it, and it has a road map for change.
So it will happen, and you know, of course next
week it might be a good time. I don't know
your schedule is Lickcraft. We could connect from the scene
of the Valley New York on Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Absolutely, let's plan on that. Yeah, so it's a week.
It's next Tuesday. Let's plan on that. That is the
twenty third. Yeah, so it's September twenty three, and right
here next door to where I'm at, what we're at.

(14:25):
He keep forgetting that, and it's in New York. Let's
plan on that. Ali Savavii, thanks again for the flexibility
and I'll coordinate with our liaison towards the end of
the week getting you back on live from there on Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Excellent. Thank you very much, and I really apicious is anyways,
appreciate what you're doing explaining the water cross. It's very
important for the Americans to know that when they look
at it around the alternative is not either you go
to wardway. Ye run or accuse them, but work with
the Iranian opposition to freedom to run. Of course, peace

(14:59):
to the that's the goal.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Ali Savavii, thanks again and we'll talk soon.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Sure, Thanks very much, Bye bye,
