(00:00):
Bright Bart News entertainment reporter David ngThis time of year, this is when
the Democratic candidate seeks out Hollywood's backingand support financially and speaking. But it's
not really working out for Biden thesedays, is it, Well sort of.
I mean, last weekend we hadJoe Biden heading out to Hollywood,
(00:24):
and Hollywood has traditionally been, asyou said, a very reliable atm for
Democrats. They just go and theyare showered with money, and this weekend
was no exception. They raised thirtymillion dollars thanks to people like George Clooney
and Julia Roberts and Barbara streisand whoflew a big party for Joe Biden.
Obama was there, you know,Jack Black was there, so it was
(00:47):
a big deal. But you areright in the other respect in that Hollywood
is noticeably less enthustic enthusiastic about Bidenthis time around. A lot of the
influencers who were very you know, gun about him four years ago are noticeably
silent, most notably Taylor Swift, who hasn't endorsed anyone this year. So
(01:07):
it's a bit of a mixed bagfor Biden. The enthusiasm is way down
I think a lot of celebrities arekind of kind of seeing as damaged goods.
They don't want to damage their ownpersonal brand by endorsing him. Yet
at the same time, you havethe high rollers, the big, big
Hollywood elites who are still showering himwith money. So it's it's it's kind
of, you know, a mixedbag for him. But you should never
(01:30):
discount Hollywood's ability to raise money fora Democrat because they are party royalists above
all. It is funny to hearyou rattle off the names you rattled off,
and they're all the who I knew, you know, I knew Clooney,
Julia Roberts streisand who's always threatening toleave if it doesn't, you know,
to move out of the country ifit doesn't go away. Jack Black's
kind of a surprising one. Andwhen you say Obama, it's interesting because
(01:55):
we're at this point now. Ialso being the pop culture junkie that I
am, I view him as aproducer to a producer who worked with Julia
Roberts in the past year or two. So he isn't just at these events
necessarily as a you know, theformer president. He's he's there for thinking
(02:15):
about his next project for Netflix, for his production company. Exactly. Yes,
it's all kind of interrelated. Everyonein Hollywood is, you know,
looking for their next job, andthe same can be said for celebrities,
because you have to remember that celebritiesfind their jobs, they find their roles
in the next in their next movies, in their next you know, Netflix
(02:36):
series through talent agents, and talentagents in Hollywood are overwhelmingly Democrat. They
give lots of money to uh toto to the major Democrat politicians. I'm
talking about CIA, uh you knowUta. All these huge Hollywood talent agencies
are major bundlers for Democrat politicians andthey control who gets what which role in
(03:00):
Hollywood. So even someone that's saythis as George Clooney and Julia Roberts are
beholden through these talent agencies, whichbasically say, you know, you know,
you know, fall in line oryou may not get the next role
that you want. Yeah, nowwe all know, we all watched DeNiro
just kind of looking he's lost it. And I don't mean that in the
(03:20):
sense that just because we're not inagreement. I mean been a big fan
of his work for decades, justthe way in which he speaks. It
comes from such a it's just thatliberal hate. That that's exhausting. It's
like it's his only fuel right now, his fuel. If there was no
Trump and there was no hate forTrump, I think Daniro might even have
(03:43):
already, he might have retired bynow. That's that's that's his fuel.
So I'm seeing him out there andit's really it's really off putting. But
I'm not seeing Lirrol Streep, whoyou'd think would do one of her really
eloquent because she can be and becauseTrump called her did he call her way
back when he called her overrated, very overrated actress, that Meryl Street very
(04:05):
overrated, which was kind of comicalat the time because it's like it's Meryl
Stream. Do you think some peopleand you brought up Taylor Swift some people
are just it's crucial. The timingis crucial. I'm common, uh,
and I'm gonna come it just right, like like there's a calendar somewhere and
it's you know, it's like Augustsecond, there's a ts on it and
(04:29):
that's the day she drops or no, maybe some of these people will stay
silent throughout the remainder of the campaignseason. Yeah, that's an excellent question.
And the cynic in me thinks thatyou're right, because you know,
you have to think that they're gonnatake every every step possible. They're gonna
leave no rock unturned in order tosway voters to vote for Joe Biden,
(04:51):
and that involves you know, majorcelebrity influencers by Keler Swift. So you
know, it remains to be seen, but we do know for a fact
that people like Cardi b and TheRock, both of whom endorsed Biden back
in twenty twenty. In fact, they publicly professed their their their allegiance to
(05:13):
him in major interviews, have specificallystated that they will not endorse anyone this
time around. Obviously they're not goingto endorse Trump, but they are not
endorsing Biden by any stretch of theimagination. Because you know, they fear
that they're young fans who are veryanti Israel will turn on them, and
they're right, because that's true becauseyou know, these young fans, they
(05:39):
go on social media, they gointo the comments section and they say the
nastiest things about people who stand upfor Israel, and you know, people
like Cardi b and the Rock. They don't want that because their livelihood depends
on their personal brand. Interesting though, it's a really interesting dynamic at work
right now. Yeah, and againwe're on with Breitbart News entertainment reporter David
(06:00):
Ing. But we're talking about Hollywoodas it pertains in LA in general,
as it pertains to the upcoming Butwe got a debate. We're a week
out from the first debate. Ican not even yeah, the end of
next week. I can't even imaginehow that's going to go. That could
be such a train there's so manyvariations on the train wreck theme that that
(06:25):
could go. I see Biden frozenand just embarrassed, and that's not nothing
that I'm chomping at the bit foreither. But lately he's just seemed increasingly
disoriented and like the kind of oldman you just want to usher out of
a room into a safe place.And I worry that I actually do,
(06:47):
just because it's so bad and somethingneeds to be done about it. But
one story of yours that I reallyappreciated was about the street artist. I
want to make sure I get hisname right. Is it Sabo? Is
it? We pronounce it both ways? But it's he's he's you know,
he's he's very very, very funny. And what happened was this weekend prior
(07:12):
to Biden's big fundraiser in Los Angeles, he kind of struck again. He
he he puts up street art postersaround Los Angeles whenever, usually whenever there's
a big Democrat in town, orwhenever Gavin Newsom did something horrible, which
is pretty often, and this timehe took aim at George Clooney. Uh,
he took in at Biden, ofcourse. And you know, one
(07:35):
of the things that uh, helike, I'll give you an example.
One of the things he did washe put up posters of George Clinney.
But as his character from R it'svery war wholly in in a way.
In a way it's to me,Yeah, it's all about celebrity and deconstructing
celebrity. Absolutely. Yeah, wellhe does it in a very clever way.
(07:58):
Well yeah, because it looked theylooked like dated ads. They look
like dated ads from the sixties, maybe the early seventies. Is he someone
you ever interviewed or is he justlike like one of those old school thief
in the night artists where this thingpops up and you know, high traffic
area and the laws looking for him. I'm intrigued by this street artist.
(08:20):
Yeah, we have interviewed him.You have not in person, of course,
but you know his anonymity is verytightly guarded. Has that kind of
the the Yeah, that's kind ofthe That's what street ar is all about.
It's kind of like that anonymous youknow in the night, type of
a type of aesthetic that you know, real street art is about. Street
(08:41):
art has become very commercialized, buthe is I think he harkens back to
the old days of street art inLos Angeles. You know, before Shepherd
Ferry was famous, before all thosepeople were famous and became you know,
mainstream these you know, they werereally doing some of their best work.
Four it became commercialized well before LAbecame just a complete and utter dump,
(09:07):
you know, because it is that'sthe LA I see. Today's not the
LA I was often off to sometwenty years ago. It's really going through
it. Let me ask you this. I don't know if you could even
answer the question. The oh brother, where art that one? Which is
just fantastic? I see Joe,I don't know who are the other two
guys in O Brother Where Art Thouone of the pieces of art by the
(09:31):
street artist ahead of Biden's mega Hollywoodfundraiser. Who are the other two guys
in? I had that one sakeof a selfie of himself. Do you
know The Old Brother where Dall isobviously a reference to the Coen Brothers movies
and it starred George Clooney. Butit's definitely worth checking out if you go
online and you can Google it.
