Tamberla Perry. That's correct, and the new series it premiered.
I think last week a Monday night series Brilliant Minds
ten o'clock in NBC drama. I'll tell you it appears
to me like the medical drama. I hesitate to say
it's back, but you look at the success of like
The Good Doctor. What a long run there, Gray's Anatomy.

(00:21):
I mean it might be the longest running show in history.
I think the longest running drama in his might have
been Marcus Welby. How does it feel to be part
of something that might take up the next fifteen years
of your life if you let it.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It's so exciting because I think on every little actor's
bucket list is to be on a medical drama. I
think everybody wants to be on braz Anatomy. So to
get brilliant minds and to be doing something a little
bit different in the medical drama space is Actually it's
the highlight of my career. And I'm not essent about that.

(00:57):
Can I say that I'm not thinking about it. I'm
so excited to be doing the show.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Oh yeah, And I think you're probably I don't know
if you're right.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I mean, who am I said, I'm not an if
it's every actor's dream, because I know I hear a
lot of actors say getting that medical jargon down is
not a walk in the park. Is that something your
character has to struggle with. You're playing doctor Carol Pierce
and you're alongside my man spot Young Spock himself, Zachary Kino,

who I'm a big fan of. But do you have
do you have to take down all that jargon and
do that? Because these are pretty It's an interesting show
because physician Oliver Sacks like, this is a lot of
this stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
You know, he really lived.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
These are at the very least based on stories that
are somewhat rooted in reality.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Every case that we do in the next thirteen episodes,
these are real cases when you read some of the scripts.
When we read some of the scripts, you were definitely like,
this did not happen. When you going back seconds against
Oliver Saxton's work, a lot of these things happened to
him real time. So yeah, it's not a lot of
fluff luff that we're making up here. And in terms

of the medical jargon, yeah, please. You know, I went
to the University of Rochester, my degree is in health
in Society with biology requirements. So you know, my trajectory
was medical school. It wasn't psychiatry, so that's a different
medical terminology space. So I actually enjoy, enjoy trying to

figure out these words and say them really fast. And yeah,
there's a challenge, but it's a good challenge for me.
I welcome it.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yeah, I was great to say.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
That had to get to when that resume hit the desk,
that had to get circled. That fact right there had
to get circled. But hey, you've been doing all right
for a good long time, from appearances on Bosh great show,
How to Get Away with Murder. And I'll tell you
what else. I do a little movie segment here in
town every weekend for the ABC affiliate, and I get
to pick what movies I highlight, and you know, I

sunk my teeth into they Cloned Tyrone because they that
was a jam from last year that not enough people
know about. And you were great in that too, So
it's not like you haven't been busy already. But that
had to help you considering that's what you were studying.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You know what with this role, you know, I think
that I have four auditions for this role. My last
one was with Zachary and they were all over skyped
and I don't know that they looked at my previous
resume that said I was going to school. They didn't
care about that. All they cared about was whether or
not I was gonna have chemistry with this man on camera?
Can they share less about which?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I mean, you and I have chemistry right I feel
chemistry right now, But at.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
The same time, can you get on Skype?

Speaker 1 (03:50):
That's that's really wild to me, how much the game
has changed.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Can you exact chemistry with a co star on Skype?
I mean, obviously you did, but that has to be hard.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Listen, if you want this job, you better make that
chemistry happen in the first thirty seconds. Otherwise they're moving
on to their next talent. Yes, you got to do it.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Maybe that's why I'm feeling all the things that I'm
feeling right now, is you're very good at that.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
That's really quite something.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Do you remember Quinto's his last TV show was The
Slap I just bring it up out it or because
I thought that was such.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
An interesting premise.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I don't know if you if you talk to him
about that if he even remembers it. Do you remember
that show?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Let me tell you something about Zachary Quinto in my relationship.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
I've been massacring his name all along. Now I feel awful.
It's Kinto, all right.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
So when I first got this audition and I told
my husband, he said, oh, who's in it? I said, oh,
Zachary Quinto and he said, oh, that's Spot. Oh honey,
I said, Spock is dead and he he looked at
me and he said the news Spock. I had no idea.
Oh you know, I see the Slap.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Oh yeah, well the Slap was a short lived series,
but you got to talk to him about it. It
was a very interesting setup. But he's a badass, s Bock. Evidently,
when Spock was young, he was badass. So I think
you yeah, I think you yeah, Oh totally. He did
more than just you know that little peace sign he
did or whatever you pinch your shoulder. You I'm not

a treky, so I wouldn't know. But he's a talented guy.
You're a talented gal. Make for quite a team. The
show is brilliant. Minds Monday Night, NBC Medical, Get Ready
