Why is it? I mean, I thought we we were
as close as ever in twenty twenty four. It was
more difficult than ever to connect with you this time. Well, Berth,
I threw you a birthday party. I mean I threw
that party.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
No, you know, I have to tell you, Vinny, and
I still appreciate that. But I after that I realized
I needed an extra level of defense.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I mean, I added, I added a whole bunch of
employ He's just to buffer and the buffer zone between us.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I swear to god, I emerged from I emerged from
you being here for that stretch of time in the
studio and from the birthday party. Like oh no, I
said to my daughter on the way home he's gonna
call me any day now, he's gonna want me regularly
on his show. He might even offer me. Is this
this started us up all over again. I guess that
(01:24):
was wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
It's been an elected year, man, I've been everywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, you wow crazy? You sure have great.
That was extraordinary stuff you speaking at that one rally.
And you did a hell of a job too.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Uh, I mean we just experienced a miracle, we did.
But the fights, the fight's about to begin, man, They're
just not gonna They're not going away quietly.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Yeah, you were key though. I was using a lot
of material from your show on mine because you you
were in in the mix of it at a key time.
I felt too for a while there it went, It
went the way I did not expect it to go.
But what have I ever gotten right before? I didn't
expect it to go this? It's wild.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
The price of camaros have gone.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, that right, the camaro But my stuff of us
twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, believable, it really is.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I'm so glad to just still be a part of it.
I know you used to give me a hard time
about it in the early my early years, but I
always loved it.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
It was But did that start nineteen nineteen ninety?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I'm torn we're calling it to thirty fourth, but I
don't feel like anybody's ever gotten the number.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Right here, I remember you think it was I think
it was ninety.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Ninety or ninety one. For me, it was ninety six.
But it was a different beast. I mean, you would
sleep in the parking lot, man, you know you would. Yeah,
And we would physically fill buses. Now you know, the
bus is there, but it's more kind of you know, optics.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well, if you remember the last one we did, I
think we builled a couple of school buses and then
we just started using tractor trailers, yeah, next to the bus.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah. It's amazing how many of the same Eric Hammel
is still obviously wild, Yeah yeah, and for so many
of the same people are still involved and yeah yeah,
and and and it's you know, it's it's all yours
and I just have fun. I still hear from that
group of volunteer. Do you remember any of the names
of that, that oh ragtag crew of volunteers we have?
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Oh, but they were great every year and every single.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Year were there and did your your wife show you
somebody sent me one of from that crew a picture
of your wife and I from stuff a bus circa
ninety eight or ninety nine, literally in front of a bus.
You said that Toanya, I did, Tanya responded, She responds
to me, blocked you. She blocked you know well to
(03:59):
respond to be is a young lady, very talented, young
lady named Cheyenne. She actually does she.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I know, I've I've asked her, I've sold security. Let's
break this up. You never know.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I love that kid. That kid is. She is hilarious.
And I'll tell you her voice this I was I
was taken aback by her voice on these Christmas So
that's honest, that's sincere. You know. Yeah, she does interesting
little where you expect her to go up, she goes down.
She's she's an unpredictable vocalist. This record seems like it's
(04:33):
it's gonna be something.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
You're gonna love it. You're gonna love it. I mean,
I don't you know, we have no idea what what
it's gonna do. But you know, we we like the
traditional arrangements of the Christmas songs, and we like the
Christmas songs we know, yeah. Uh, and we listen to
the like the same five albums every year.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
And uh.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
And so she we've picked our favorites, the Cheyenne picked them,
and then I added a couple of my favorites, and
you know, we went over to Prague and I mean
she walked in and you know this, this symphony orchestra
is one of the best in the world. And we
walked in and you know, they don't they don't even rehearse,
(05:18):
they're so good. They just sit down and they play it. Yeah,
and we walked in and they were running through I
think it's the most wonderful time of the year or something.
And Cheyenne just burst into tears because it was so beautiful.
I mean, it's just it's just amazing.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah. What's the name of the record? And how can
people get it? And it is it? Yet? I really do,
genuinely sincerely want a copy of it. I really do.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah. So it's not going to be released any any
other way than digitally this year, because that's the way.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
It's frustrating, but that's just the way it is.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Not.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yeah, but if it sells, we're going to add probably
four more songs next year and then we'll release it
on vinyl. And but anyway, it comes out Black Friday.
At least some of the songs, some of them might
be released, you know, every couple of days after Black Fridays,
but it comes out at the beginning of Black Friday.
And the album is called Home for Christmas, and she
(06:18):
goes by her first and middle name, Cheyenne Grace.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yeah, I love it. And I saw a little clip
of her playing a song for you, and you had
a funny reaction to you were watching the clip because
it was the same reaction I had. I was watching
the video really moved by the vocals, and I'm like,
you know, Christmas, shouldn't you be bundled up? You seem to,
I mean, it seems to be yes.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
By very eighteen year old, eighteen year old daughter, And
I'm like, where's some pant.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Where there's no reason for a Christmas video to be
that leggy. I almost wanted to write on Facebook, this
is convey that it's hold out, you know, Yeah, I know,
uh so I.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Heard the problem, you know, living in Texas where she
recorded that. It was like eighty five degrees that day.
But I'm like, can you put on some pat only
for my daughter.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
I am yeah, and she and she said I had
shorts on and the shirt I was just went over them.
Well then they're very small shorts. I mean I felt
the same way I did vote on her record cover too.
I mean, that's how invested in this I am. I
think it's very.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, it's just you're really gonna love it.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I'm really happy for you. I'm happy for her. Thank you,
And uh, don't worry. I'm carrying the stuff a bus
torch like I told you I would in two thousand
and you didn't want me, you said, Stu, you take
it over. That's why I Sue stayed behind free year.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
For some of us, you were like you showed up
the first year and you were like, wait, we have
to do this for a couple of days.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, I was through in the beginning. It was like
a week long. And I did love you, but it
was it was very new to me. Yeah, it's and
the giving continues and Glenn back, let's stand.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
So that is so great. What what you guys have
done with stuff abus and keeping it around, I mean,
that is that's really it's one of my probably one
of my only real legacies, will be you know, the
fundraising for food and for hungry people. Uh just went
on and on and on long after I left. I
(08:29):
just think that's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, and I look forward to it every year, and
I appreciate you taking the time to check back.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Coming up for we're coming up for a Thanksgiving. Maybe
we'll have a chance to not see each other.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Let's go and see Jerry. Let's Jerry's been doing some
hilarious stuff on social media. You'd really get yeah, you'd
really get kicked out of it. So if you want
to pop over there for a bite, let me know.
Hit me. Oh my god, I've only ever had one
cell number.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Jerry is crazy. When we went, when we went last
time with Jerry, like the food never ended. He's like
he's like every Italian grandmother all put together.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
No, no, yeah, that's for you.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
That's gonna be a mazy day balloon.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah, you know. But when I pop in there, I
pay you and you go with It's a very different experience.
But no, I know that. But what I'm saying is
what he kept bringing, he kept stuff kept coming out.
It's really not like all I do is it's like
thanks for the Bruce Shatta Jared, seriously, the two pieces
(09:39):
of Brushada serious.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I gotta stop so happy. I mean, you know, we're
all kind of grew up together in a way. Yeah,
and I'm so I'm so happy for everybody's success. I mean,
it's just so great seeing Jerry there, seeing you and
your success.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
I mean, it's nothing, you know, I'm interviewed. I interviewed
Jerry's door because she's touring with I forget the musical now,
she's literally you know, she's touring the country and Broadway showing.
I would love to have your daughter. It's just amazing
to be at a point in our lives where our
kids are at the age where they're doing their thing
(10:16):
and it's really impressive, and they're all talented and somehow
well adjusted. I don't know how they're well adjusted, but
they are. And I love sitting back and watching.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Your social media. Man, you're a good dad. You're really dad.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
I'm just as surprised about it as you. Believe me.
I don't know where that came from. At home.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
I lost a lot of money with.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
That Stu, that son of events. Don't get me started
on him. Don't get me started. But I appreciate you
checking in my man out and I'll take care of
it and let me know if you're around next week
hit me up.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Yeah yeah, Thanksgiving you
