Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mister Gobadi, Yes, good morning, how are you, sir? Welcome
back to the project.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Oh, thank you so much for having me, and I
hope you've had good weeks and days past and looking
forward to a happy Labor Day.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Holiday well and to September six, big doings in Brussels.
It would appear.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Exactly we're tens of thousands of Iranians from all over
Europe with converging Brussels to edge the world in general
and Europe in particular, to focus on the ongoing right
debutsies in Iran, available arrest and executions, and also also
so far as the Europeans that are concerned to toughen
(00:41):
up on Herue's nuclear issue on their ends and to
activate the UN Security Council resolutions that have been suspended
because of the twenty fifteen nuclear deal. Cul Jaupa and
all the Arenas are asking is for Europeans to stick
to the awards. They said August thirty first was the
(01:02):
deadlines for Irene region to act and they just want
the European to basically show some firmness, stick to their wards,
stick to their red line and activate this UN Security
consider resolutions.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
And I know it features leaders from the UK, the EU,
from the United States. I'm curious who from the United
States is expected to attend, sir, And I wonder if
this show of solidarity, I don't even know, if I wonder,
they will surely enrage the regime.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
No, definitely, pople enrage the regime, definitely, because you're talking
about literally tens of thousands of Urnias from all over Europe.
You know, literally three generations will come with the same
message in Unison in a very voice the first way
and a very elaborate display. I'm from the United States
for the time being. Patrick Kennedy, the nephew of late
(02:05):
President John F. Kennedy and the former Congressman from Rhode Island,
will be among his speakers. They will be the former
Speaker of the House of Commons from the UK, they
will be the former Prime Minister of Belgium. And also
there will be a way very distinguished speaker from Spain.
(02:28):
And what makes him stand out is that the gentleman
was a former Vice President of UK in Parliament for
fifteen years, who is the first European politician was actually
targeted in European soiled by Iranian hitter squads whom miraculously
(02:50):
survived in assassination attempt near his home in Madrid back
in twenty twenty three, and he's going to address the
Runians and also the European leaders, saying that if you
do not believe in Iranian regimes Milan activities, look at
my case. I was almost killed in my own neighborhood
by the Irene regimes that hired terror squad and where
(03:16):
are you going to draw the line. So that's going
to be a whole host of very distinguished speakers joining Iranians, and.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Again we're on with Shahin Gobadi and Cri. I would
imagine Miriam Rishavi shall speak no doubt at this event
on September sixth and Brussels and probably reiterate the ten
point Plan, which globally it should be memorized globally.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I think obviously there will be a lot of emphasis
on the future Iran, which by the way, is rejection
of both the previous dictatorship by the Parlavi dynasty and
the monarchy and also the current giocracy. And obviously there
will be a lot of emphasis on the way forward, which,
as you said very correctly, in the ten point Plan
of Madame Marian RAJEVI. Actually, for people who are interested
(04:06):
to follow this big, big, big international event, there's a
hashtag on social media, very simple hashtag Brussels Free Iran Rally,
all one word Brussels Free Iran Rally, which is already
circulating the Twitter and other social media platforms, and I
(04:27):
assume it would be intensified as we get closer to
the day of events. I repeat Brussels Free Iran Rally.
This very much encapsulate the message. And also there's a
lot of activity on social media about this BAK event
coming and justifiedly so you know, just last week, you know,
(04:48):
several Irene major cities e went on protests because of
water footages, because of electricity outage. So the descent is
simmering inside Iran. It's a surface. So this very much
echoes the sentiment from inside Iran to the international community.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
And another hashtag that I had seen because I've seen
the free Brussels Free Iran rally, I saw no shah,
no ayatola, only freedom. And as I've said to you before,
obviously you know I want that for the Iranian people,
but I think I think it's it's something all Americans
(05:29):
should want because sixty years of resistance in Iran, and
as long as this regime is in power, their goal
is it's executions of any dissidents and also be a
thorn in the United States side. So I've always felt
(05:51):
that we as a nation have a vested interest in
the leadership of Iran.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I think that's way true. Look, standing for virtues is
very much enshrined in the US. Being US came about
by rebel against tyranny, and that's how the country was
founded by the founding fathers. But the Declaration of Independence
(06:17):
and the famous saying that I put my John Hancock
so the king would not, you know, mistake me with
someone else. So what I'm saying is that this is
very much intertwined with the history of United States standing
up against tyranny the right to rebel, So I could
understand fully that there should be a lot of sympathy
for the ving people who are standing up for their rights. Also,
(06:40):
this moral issue is very much intertwined with the national
security interests of the whole world. So long as this
regime is there, not only the unions are going to
be killed, persecuted, deprived of their most basic fulimental rights,
but Also they will sponsored terror. They would go for
nuclear weapons, they would pat andage you know, terror groups.
(07:03):
I will go for ballistic missiles, endangering the Old Region
and Europe. So it is an interest of the world
to see a change by the venions. The world would
a much much better place, much safer.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
And that was lost. That was lost on me much
of my life, and since the hostage crisis of nineteen
eighty or thereabouts.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
That was seven nine November nineteen seventy nine.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Resolved early in nineteen eighty.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah, a lot of people obviously might not be old
enough to remember, but you know, from the infancy this
regime has had enmity towards Irenian people, enmity towards the
world and the modern world as it's way of functioning
and it's way of survival. But now the page is
being turned. Irenians are standing up inside ira on outside everyone.
(08:01):
And again, as I've said in this program time and again,
the only thing they want is a good policy that
stands up on their side. And as you said, September
sixth is a very good day for this because.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I look for.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
On mass that even people they vividly what they want.
They reject both the chars monarchy. They reject current giocracy.
They want a republic based on the people's rights, by
the people for the people. A very inclining system, and
(08:37):
I think the world should be underside.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
And of course, it was just a few days ago.
I'm sure you saw the story of the firing the
President of the United States firing a US general whose
report on his strike on the Iran on the nuclear
site kind of ticked the press off. So the Defense Secretary,
(09:04):
heg Seth, fired a general I don't know, this is
only a few days ago, whose assessment he minimized the
assessment and maybe in your opinion, he's not necessarily wrong,
but Trump was ticked off that he minimized his efforts
(09:24):
and said, the US attack on Iranian nuclear sites this
past June's limited damage according to the reports. So you
got fired on Friday, so that the story, and.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I think that goes to a different issue, and that
is obviously who gets fired, as who doesn't get fired
is all, you know, prerogative of the President of the United.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
States, of course, but.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
It goes to a bigger issue, and that is that
the issue he wants nuclear challenge is a serious challenge.
He should not be taken lightly. And I think the
events of the last few month clearly have made this
way vividly clear. And so long as the US and
the rest of the world do not side leaving in
(10:13):
people and their desire for regime change, trust me, Iran
would be the black cat of the foreign policy and
has been the major headache, as you said, for presidents
of the United States, Republicans and Democrats alike. But I
think now the importance, but the importance now is that again,
(10:38):
the dynamics inside Iran is shifting. The regime is getting
much weaker, It has got much weaker. So we are
at the cost of a historical movement, and the moment
should not be missed and the moment should be seized rather,
and I think events like September the sixth protests are
one way of showing to the world that what is
(11:01):
the sentiment of the even people. Uranian people are not asking,
excuse me, Americans to send their sons and daughters to
fight for them. They're not asking American taxpayer money down
asking Americans weapons. Far from it. Again, what they're asking
for is very much inligned with what America has built upon,
(11:23):
and very much I think every good American will identify
with it.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Do you believe before I let you go, sir, I
know I've kept you a while. Do you believe that
the regimes, you know, their alignment with Russia, they're playing
nicely with Russia these days, that that played any role
in Trump's kind of lackluster meeting with Putin in Alaska.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Well, I've not seen any reports of effect. But one
thing you have to remember that regime does not have
any strategic allies. Despite all the rithmatis and all the
bluster about now they are in access to Russia and
China when push can pisha. When the war broke out,
Russia simply sat on the fence. Nobody got this regime
(12:12):
and its particularly drive to acquard nuclear weapons. It's in
nobody's interest in the world except the Mullas. So, yeah,
there might be some niceties, there might be some photoophs,
there might be some troubles, but so far as you know,
financial assistance, financial life lund is concerned, or strategic assistance,
(12:34):
nobody is lending an answer the regime. And that's the
whole issue, and that's the message that the regime is
in dire straits. Nobody should throw the life jacket for
the regime and basically allow it to be drowned by
the reading people. To put it in a streaming metaphor.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
No, I wanted to get your take on that, and
I'm glad you include China in that as well. Shaheen,
go boy, you're a gentleman. I appreciate you taking the
time to come back on. I'd look forward to September sixth,
Brussels Free Iran Rally. That's a hashtag. I hope it
goes well. I expect it to go well, and I
(13:16):
hope it produces results. That's what I'm curious to see.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
And I hope it will have me or my colleagues
back on September eight or ninth and we give you
a good report about what happened in Brussels.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Let's plan on that, sir. I look forward to it.
