Speaker 1 (00:00):
We got Frank Rillo. Yes, how you doing, my man? Listen,
you're either getting this question all day today or this
is the only time you're going to get it today.
I don't know, but I gotta be the one to say,
this is Crossbones. Why is it not? Just let's just
market it that way, you guys. You know in the

(00:22):
Marvel universe, this is excellent. I do know the Crossbones
was a curveball for many because they're like, you were
out the intro of you know, first scene in one
of the installments, and we thought you were going to
be around a good long while. So you were one
of those curve balls in the universe.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I know, I know it was a curve ball for me.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure you got that script and you're like,
that's how you guys want to be. I will tell
you this as a comic book geek my entire life
and and uh you know, a Marvel fan in particular,
my entire life. This is saying something and I mean
it when I say it. The elevator scene stands as
the best shot and most exhilarating scene in all of

(01:02):
the Marvel movies. And to my kids too, my thirteen
year old Son when Kap looks at you and says,
does anybody want to get out? I mean that's still
that's a great moment. You were a part of Man.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, no, you know it is. And I'm happy to
be part of the Marvel, the whole Marvel universe. And
you know, that was one of those scenes that took
six days and there was no special effects. It was
all real. And so after that, I think the Marvel
movie got really heavy with FX.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
That's a good call.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, yeah, I even think that movie that script Winter Soldier.
To me, and I don't say it because I was
in it. To me, it's my favorite Marvel movie. It
was a real solid I thought it was the best
script of all.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Oh no, many people say what didn't get in an
Oscar nomination for script? I thought it might have. I
meany had Robert Redford. It was a political thriller, There's
no two ways about it.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It was Man and it was it was written you
Fleet and Joe and Anthony Russo. That was their first movie. Yeah,
and it's my favorite, yeah, favorite one.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
My partner Joe Karnahan, Joe and I have a company
called War Party and we're not reinventing the wheel here.
It's you know, the kind of movie you want to
sit down and forget about life for a little bit
and have some fun.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah, that must be interesting too, especially at a time
when you can do this. You know, you can take
it to a Netflix. There's so many different outlets nowadays.
You have the opportunity to get together with a partner
make what you want to make on the side of
everything else you're doing, whether it's in the MCU or
zero Dark thirty or everything else you're doing.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yeah, it's fantastic, and this is our This is our
second film that we've done with them. First one was
a movie called Wheelman, which did really well. They put
it in one hundred and ninety eight countries. I got
billboards on Sunset Boulevards. There's a billboard in Times Square.
They market the hell as a film. You know, you're
guaranteed to get eyes on these movies. That's kind of
build building your brandy and you know, and I have

(03:05):
a show on that it's called Fight World, which is
like a bordain Asque docuseries about fight culture around the world.
No kid, just it allows us, Yeah, it allows us
to really kind of keep building what our brand is
and what we think people want to see.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, you know, it's funny you should mention that about
fire World because a friend of mine who's a big
he's big into m m as, he's big into martial
arts films. He when I said to him that I
was looking to interview you, he mentioned some Chinese action
film that you're He's like, he's he's in a series

(03:41):
that's huge.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I did a movie called Wolf Warrior two in China.
It's a Chinese film, and it made over a billion
dollars in China. It's the highest grossing domestic film obviously
in China, the second highest grossing domestic film in the world.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Is there anywhere I can watch it?

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah? Yeah, I think you can. I think on Itune.
So I'm actually big in China.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah. I love it. It's great stuff. And I know
you got a busy morning ahead of you. But it's
Frank rill Old. I mean, look, it's crossbones and that's
how I'm promoting it. That's all I'm.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Gonna say about. That's how they promoted it is.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
So I love it, man, and U continued success. Thanks
for coming on.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
