being you're such a big part of Turning Point USA.

Yeah. So I've run our faith division TPUSA Faith and
it's been the honor of my life to serve Charlie
for the last year and a half in that capacity.
We're going to keep the mission going as we push ahead.
It's been a tough been a tough almost two weeks now,
as you can imagine, it's to say the least, it's been.
It just feels like something you want to just you know,

every day you think I'm just gonna wake up and
it's not gonna be true, or I just need to
call Charlie and talk to him about this and get
his opinion and see what he thinks. It's it's been, been,
you know, devastating but there's so much of this ground
surge of revival that's taking place on the other side
that's made this a little easier. We're optimistic for the future.

We just wish we had our friend back.

I certainly understand that I had the pleasure of having
him on less than a year ago. He had his
book out and he came on. We had a wonderful
chat and it's quite chilling, actually, Lucas. The last thing
that I said to him was because I felt like
the conversations he was having with young people were so important,
and that's such a goal of turning point USA, is

engaging the young. But I didn't realize how young he
was himself. So my last words were to him were,
you know, stay young, and he said, I promise I will,
and I guess he will forever be thirty one. Now.
Interestingly enough, he wrote the four for your book, Pagan Threat,

(02:01):
confronting America's Godless Uprising. You know, as a guy who
went to attend a Catholic school my whole childhood former
alter boy this and that. I do think this played
a huge role here. It's not really being talked about
much as far as this shooter is concerned we're too

(02:22):
busy trying to find out his political affiliations. I think
he was a broken, lost, twenty two year old full
of self loathing. But one thing that's not being discussed enough,
in my opinion, is Charlie. He brought every topic, whether
it was the economy, whether it was you know, child rearing,

(02:45):
whether it was marriage, whether it was is whatever topic,
he brought it back to God. And I think that
unnerved a lot of people in this nation because we've
been so busy for the last several decades removing God
from everything. And when I was a kid, not even

(03:06):
outside of the confines of my Catholic school upbringing my
baseball games, everything I did, and I was a boy scout,
everything started with the our Father. And now we became
a nation that it's like, now you might offend somebody
by doing that, take the cross down off the wall.
And I do think there's a threat. I do think

there's a godless uprising.

You know, Look, ultimately God wins in the end, and
from that sense, I'm very much an optimist. We believe
in the finality of the lordship of Jesus Christ, where
he is King of kings and Lord of Lords forever.
But that doesn't mean that the church in America always thrives.
We saw the church in Europe falter and we've seen
the results of that now with being supplanted by Islam

and other things, you know, in the United States particularly.
It's not that it's about, you know, all of a
sudden that people are waking up saying I want to
worship Thor or I want to worship Odin or some
sort of Greek god. It's that in order for Marxism
to thrive in America, the only way to do that
is to push Christianity out of the way. And so

(04:13):
the powers that be are pushing on our young people
this neo paganism, witchcraft, the occult, Wicca, New Age, all
these things. And so you see a lot of the
instigators out there that have more of a globalist Marxist
worldview are starting to push these things. Why because it

(04:34):
allows it's easier for somebody to accept Marxism if Christianity
is out of the way. Christianity has more of a
rigid morality to it. There's clear objective truth and right
and wrong, and scripture is very you know, defined about
things like you know, sex, gender, marriage, thankity of life,
and so when Marxism comes in, it gets quickly refuted

when people have a god fearing you know, world viewing,
when that is removed and paganism allows kind of this
choose your own adventure spirituality. They don't care which whether
you're a witch or wicca or you know, a druid.
All that matters is that you're not a Christian because
Christianity is seen as the oppressor that must be silenced.
This is what happened in Charlie's case, where somebody goes,

your words are violence to me. Therefore I'm acting in
self defense by stopping you and pulling the trigger. It
is a sick and twisted logic.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, that's that's an interesting way to look at it.
I wish I could tell you that I felt we
were going to get more and more information on this guy.
I don't know if you even want it or need it,
but I don't think we're going to. I think his
name will fade, just like the person who attempted to

kill the president himself. I asked my listeners of my show,
Yes call in with the no Googling call right now,
nobody remember even remembers his name. I don't think the
coverage on this shoot or this assassin is going I
don't think the mainstream media, of the legacy media is
going to stay that focused on it, especially if they

don't like what they the first few facts that they
get on him. If they don't like it, they'll stop.

Well. I think that's absolutely right. And the other problem
that you have here is in order to properly do that,
you also have to talk about Charlie Kirk. And a
lot in the mainstream media don't want to talk about
Charlie Kirk because they didn't agree with his message to
start with. They were part of the ones who were
complicit in saying that he was a Nazi, or he
was a bigot or something like that. Rather than recognizing

that Charlie loved everybody. He gave his microphone. As Don
Junior said the other night in the Moral Service, he
was the only guy that he knew that gave his
microphone to the quote unquote opposition and allowed them to
speak for hours upon hours to hear them out, to
have dialogue in the public square and the reason with
one another. Nobody else did that, only Charlie Kirk. And

I think that you know that, among many other things,
especially as Christian faith is the reason why he should
be remembered for a very long time.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah, and again we're talking with Lucas Miles, Senior director
of Turning Point USA Faith, and he's written the book
Pagan Threat, Confronting America's Godless Uprising. Obviously, with Charlie having
written the forward and this book, I would imagine you
began writting it a couple of years back. Tell me
about the book itself, since it's a book, is there

(07:29):
any part of you that wishes already and it's just
coming out?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I believe right, Yeah, yeah, it just released this week.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
You know, you wrote it at a time when you
know you had Charlie Kirk directa. Is there a part
of you that's like, oh, I want to add one
last chapter right now? Considering develop recent developments, I've got
more now.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Absolutely, I mean, this is this is there's I mean,
as you can imagine, there's a lot of emotions in this.
With having Charlie write the forward, the book is there's
been a lot of interest around it, which I'm thankful
for and in many ways it's the final gift that
Charlie has given me. But it's it's not the way
in which I wanted that gift to be received. In
his passing, Charlie understood this pagan threat better than anybody.

(08:16):
This is why he, you know, was pleased to write
the forward. You know, it would have been very easy
for him to give me a shortcover endorsement. He took
the time, I think, to write something very meaningful, and
it really it's it's sort of this eerie prognostication now
when you when you read those words, where you know,
it's it's very predictive about the world that we're in

(08:36):
right now. And the world has changed, you know, twelve
thirteen days ago. The world's a different place than it was,
you know before. It's just it just is. And and
I think that, you know, in the past, it would
have been easy to go, oh, is you know, is
Lucas blowing this thing up a little bit about a
pagan threat? Is it really that big of a deal?
And I think what we see now, is it really

(08:58):
is that big of a deal? This this any sort
of time you have a celebration of death and set
aside just the the the isolated shooter, let's just say
that he's a one off he's a lunatic, he's he's
psycho for that is. Yeah, but now we see the
celebration of death from the left that is champion this

(09:21):
guy that is saying Who's next? You know, you see
all these side comments online. He's exposing where we are
as a society, that we no longer value human life
and that only happens when paganism thrives.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yeah, some of the stuff that I've read is mind boggling.
Feeling that way, having been unnerved by the guy. Uh,
that's one thing. Sitting down to construct a tweet within
hours I saw some you know, within hours. Yeah, uh,
I can't imagine what goes on and that those that's

(09:54):
those people scare me, I think, And you probably disagree
with me on this. You're probably a considerably more your
faith is considerably stronger than mine. You believe, there's so
I think that we've got there are more evil people
among us than there are good That's my belief.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Look, I mean, Jesus said the road is narrow. I
don't think you're necessarily wrong with that. And you know,
the reality of a biblical worldview is this is there's
actually nobody good among us. The Bible says there's no
one righteous, not even one. Jesus was the only one
is righteous. There's really there's not good people and bad people.
There's you know, from a Christian standpoint, there's safe people

(10:33):
and unsafe people. This was part of Charlie's message, is
that all of us are sinners. Anytime we think in
self righteousness that we're the ones who get to decide
who lives and who dies, or what a life is,
or what's right and what's wrong, that's not our job.
It's actually God's job to define those things. It's our
job to submit to those and follow them and pursue
the way of life that He's given us. And so, look,

(10:53):
I'm concerned about the state of hearts in America. I'm
glad to see this that there is a revival that's
taking place. I think it's it's still early, but I
think it's safe to call it that. Literally, stadiums are
filling up with people, college campuses are filling up with
you know, you have Indiana University holding prayer vigils. That's
unheard of. Yeah, you know this is this one of
the most liberal schools in the country, and you know

(11:16):
things are changing. But the question is can we sustain this?
Are people going to keep turning the Lord? Is this
going to be a moment or is it going to
be a movement? At TPUSA Faith and Turning Point USA,

and that Charlie's name is remembered. But beyond Charlie's name,
we want to see Jesus's name lifted high, because that's
really the only source of hope that we have.
