Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the show. Breitbart News International editor Francis Martell,
and there's tonsy get to.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I hope you've been well.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
I'm doing great. I'm always happy to be back. Thank
you again for colerading me.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
You give the show credibility.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
How many times gonna it's only a matter of time
because before there's a roundtable discussion at Breitbart where they're like, Okay.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
We're gonna stop doing a few of these shows.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
A few of these shows are kind of hurting us,
and you're gonna sit there and you're gonna be like
Vinnie's gonna come up.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
They're gonna bring Vinnie off.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
No, I always have a great time here.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Let me get you with a curveball, though, francis just
in the sense that Elizabeth is always great and like
she sends us, you know all of your recent stories,
like you guys can and I definitely want to talk
China and the China tariffs and Canada. I love your
take on all things Canada. I have long before Trump
was even back in office. You've had really interesting observations

(00:55):
on Canada. Your true Trudeau stuff is without peer. Thank
you there it was anyway, but I wanted to ask you.
I've been doing a story here, local horrible story, and
at the center of this story is mental The guy
who did this horrible thing fifty two years old, history

(01:15):
of mental illness. He was diagnosed in first grade and
last time he was treated was fifteen years ago. You know,
it's just the whole story is how we failed yet
again as a state. I would say with regard to
mental health. All over the TV sets, though, I keep seeing, well,

(01:38):
Trump's Trump slashing mental health everyways, slashing the funding to
mental health everywhere. But that's not entirely true, is it.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Well, there's no real link that I've seen between this
individual case and Trump. That's the first thing. The other
thing is that the cases where we've had in general,
like major failures like this, where it's someone that is
known and the Sandy Hook attack always comes to mind
for me, it's the family that fails. There's nothing the

(02:08):
government can do to stop a mother who isn't willing
to be tough enough on their kids, a father who
leaves the gun lying around, that sort of thing. They're
just Unfortunately in this world, there simply is nothing the
government can do about that outside of just taking the
child out of that house and putting them in a
mental institution or something, which is not something anybody wants, right.

(02:28):
We don't want the government to be that powerful.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
So even you know, outside.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Of the scope of let's say President Trump cut funding,
which I haven't really seen that I've seen President Trump
and it's team dedicated to cutting funding to international programs
that make no sense. You know, the comic Books for
Cameroon is a famous one that came up, that sort
of program where USAID in particular was investing heavily in.

(02:55):
There was another one that was like a transgender musical
theater show for Ecuador or something like that.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
That's that's where the fulcus has been, not not domestic
mental health issues. And again, you can fund these programs
all you want, it's the families of these people aren't
investing the time and energy to get them the treatment
that they want.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
They're very unlikely to go get help by themselves, a
lot of them, and it's it's really unfortunate, partly because
of the stigma. You know, no one wants to go
to the doctor and come out and be told that
you're crazy. And the stigma has apped a little bit.
But again that our communities have a responsibility, a private
responsibility to help people that show signs of enough the omens.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Well, absolutely, I couldn't agree more with that. But when
I started doing my homework going into the weekend, this
took place on Thursday, because I knew our Chris Murphy,
who is just on a tear. He's everywhere but Connecticut,
where I don't even think he lives anymore. He claims
he still lives here. I don't think he does. And
he's out there the East. He's talking Medicaid, he's talking Husky,

(03:58):
he's talking all these programs, and yet I have it
on good authority that in Connecticut, in Connecticut alone, and
I even sparked a conversation on one of my posts
between a desperate mom with her kids.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
She's like, Husky's not accepted anywhere.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
I'm trying to get him help, and everywhere I go
they're like, we don't take Coski. The very things that
this guy's touring the country saying are in danger and
such great things. I found out that fewer psychologists in
Connecticut except patients covered by Medicaid, compared to any other
New England state. Even in good old Jersey, the psychologists

(04:40):
are accepting patients covered by Medicaid, but in Connecticut we're
at an all time loan. So the very programs he's
on a tour saying and now when I came in
this morning and I saw that, you know, Trump slashes
a billion dollars in grants for student mental health, I'm like, oh,
this is right where they're going to go.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Everything. Everything is Trump's fault anything that happens.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
You know, if your favorite TV show gets canceled, Francis,
because I can't say ours, we don't agree on a
TV shows.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
It's going to be Trump's fault. And that is Trump's fault.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah, No, Trump's going to cancel severance and that's going
to cause a huge mental health decline among like liberal journalists.
Yeah and me ye, yeah, you know that's incredible to
me because New Jersey actually has a reputation of being
one of the best states for access to mental health
resources and especially for you know, young young boys. And yeah,

(05:37):
like I think we have we diagnosed more you know,
autism and ADHD than anywhere And that's not that we
have more cases than anyone, we just have more resources
to do that. So if you were to ask me,
I would have assumed that, you know, it would be
like a red state that had fewer resources that accepted
you know that the psychologists accepted fewer people just because
their governments don't invest as much money just on an

(06:00):
absolute terms as based like New Jersey and Connecticut. So
that's really you know, that stamming of the Connecticut government.
That that's the case. And it's and it's interesting that
you say that about you know, Medicaid, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare,
social Security. Trump has very explicitly said I am not
cutting these things. And this is another case where Trump
has come out said something very clearly and journalists have

(06:23):
just completely ignored it in order to run with, you know,
their narrative. He's come out and he's said that very clearly.
It reminds me of the way the Ukraine narrative has
has moved, where President Trump has come out on multiple
occasions and said flattering things of Vilenski, has condemned the
Russian government for their indiscriminate bombings. He's been very clear

(06:46):
about it, and the media just ignores that and looks
back to you know, one moment where these two hot
has Trump and Violenski had a very public blow up.
But if you look at the support that we've given,
you know, Trump was the one that initially sanctioned the
North Stream two pipeline, and Biden lifted those sanctions, which
is what allowed for this full scale invasion to begin.

(07:07):
And yet everyone blames Trump for the situation today. It's
the same thing in almost every issue where he's very
plain spoken, he has said very clearly where he stands
on these issues, and journalists simply don't want to report that.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Yeah, I mean, there's no better example than when years back,
so many years back, when he just said, we've got
to solve the boarder problem. There's a lot of bad
people coming through here. We've got a lot of people
gang members, and we've got people who have broken the
law been deported coming back, not nice guys. There are rapists, rapists,

(07:43):
he said, rapists. He said all Mexicans are rapists.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
That was never how that went down.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Ever, that's never That clip is out there to be
seen by all, and yet it literally irresponsibly was reported
as Trump said Mexico is f of rapists.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
It's just not what he said, not at all.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
And you know, the thing that also gets ignored about
that instance is that these people, these illegal immigrants who
come into the country who are criminals. Not all of them,
you know, all of them are criminals because they broke
the law by coming in. But the ones who are,
in addition committing other crimes, the neighborhoods that they're tormenting
and terrorizing are not affluent white neighborhoods. They're not running

(08:27):
around you know, a province town or Martha's vineyard committing crimes.
They're in Hispanic communities committing these crimes. They're in lower
income or communities. So when you remove these these illegal
immigrant criminals, when you take them out, you're taking them
out of communities that are disadvantaged, working class communities and

(08:48):
especially Hispanic communities. So it's not like a net benefit
to rich white people when you deport them, it's a
benefit to working class Hispanics.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
As so low lost on the self righteous liberal. It
just so lost on the communities that are dealing with
this the most and getting increasingly are just less and
less safe. They think they're looking out for them, not
helping them at all. I get stories here all the time.

(09:20):
I get moms calling here about the gang problem, the
gang problems, getting demonstrably worse in the States because the
gang members that are coming through they're either joining existing
gangs or enlisting. The gangs are just getting bigger and
operating in both locations. Moms calling it, they're like, and
we have no police around here because Volvo driving soccer.

(09:44):
Moms in Connecticut were like, leave this community alone, and
the moms in those communities Frances are like, you know,
one of my sons was killed, and again, I'd love
for my other one to stay alive.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
We'd like the police here. That's okay.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
But some mom drives in from you know, Bethlehem, Connecticut.
Didn't think she just did a great thing for the
inner city.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
You didn't. You didn't do them any favors.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Well, you know, she probably has a sign out at
her yard that says, you know, in this house, we believe,
and there's fifty different things in size five ponds that
no one can read.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
In the middle. She lives on the street where there's
just three houses on the street. You know, I don't
know he's going to read that. Yeah, I mean your
kids friends, Coogan and Keegan and Connor when they come over.
But for the most part, no one's going to see
this side. Uh, but nonetheless there's tons you get to
and again we'rerong with Brett Bart News International editor my favorite,

(10:42):
Francis Martel. I do have to ask you this before
we get to your analysis. As far as the whole
China situation, the tariffs, what is the what is the
Breitbart fight club? I mean, or is the first rule
not to talk about it? What is the Breitbart No,
we actually do talk about it.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I'd love to about it. So Brightbird flight Club is
basically an expanded volume of the things that we do.
We are very adamant about not putting anything existing behind
a paywall. That's not what it is. It's extra content,
it's interviews, discussions with each other, it's insider content. A

(11:19):
lot of what we do is, you know, like every company,
we have editorial calls where we debate issues first and
there's a lot of heated debate. It's fun debate, but
it's it's certainly a passionate and we're letting you in
on that. As part of flight Club. You can watch
us discuss these issues. There's also a lot of content
like films, I know, Hating Breitbart, the film, which is

(11:42):
phenomenal on Andrew Brybird's life. That's in part of the
Fight Club subscription. And we have live events too. We've
had multiple live events with members of the administration where
you can listen to us interview them and ask questions.
So it's basically just our way of making a situation
where you can be let in on, you know, how

(12:04):
are we thinking about things? How do we you know,
get to the news coverage that we get to among
each other. And you can kind of see how that
works because we are very much not a monolithic corporate entity.
You know, it's not like we all come in and
we all we all agree on every issue, not at all.
We get to where we get to as journalists because

(12:25):
a nice you know, blade sharp and blade right. So
I'm very grateful to my editors, my co editors, my writers,
and we you know, we're letting you in on that process.
So it's really exciting.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I think I didn't realize there was a link, yeah,
at the bottom of the page. I actually thought it
was kind of like an inside joke to a degree,
so I just rot and I cleared that it's it's beautiful.
I mean, the layout is spectacle. I didn't see the
link until just now talking with it. But tell me
about what's happening. I did hear that there are hundreds

(13:01):
of Chinese workers protesting, factory shutting down, all this is
playing out. Where are we at right now as far
as the tariffs and China's concerned, Well, China's.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
In a bayance. China's in a bayance as part of
its own belligerents because he has refused to negotiate with
the Trump administration. It's basically the only country, according to Trump,
that has not accepted that America wants to talk about
the terms of how we trade with everybody, and it's
not you know, it shouldn't have to be targeting any
specific country. But China refuses to have any negotiations. They're

(13:34):
putting out crazy propaganda videos saying that negotiating with Trump
is the same as drinking poison. That's something they put
out last week. And meanwhile, their economy is suffering and
their people are suffering. The Chinese economy has been in
a bad state ever since. Basically the COVID lockdowns ended
because a lot of foreign investment less. A lot of

(13:56):
that investment went to India, which is China's biggest economic rival.
A lot of it came back to the United States,
and so use unemployment is skyrocketing, and that part of
that is that the economune is bad. Part of that
is that China has a state sponsored slavery system where
they go into East Turkistan, which is the west of
the country. They take the weaker population out of their

(14:18):
homes and they enslave them. And when you put these
people in factories making solar panels and whatever garbage from Tambo,
those could have been factory jobs that went to young
people who are just starting out. So they have to
compete with slave labor, same way American factories have to
compete with slave labor, and the situation is getting increasingly turbulent.

(14:40):
We saw protests within Chinese factories because the factories aren't
paying they don't have the money yet. Certainly Timo and Shean,
which are the two big e commerce Chinese e commerce,
the slave companies. Essentially they setle extremely cheap things, you know,
suspiciously cheap things that are of very low quality. Companies

(15:01):
also used to get away with paying no duties or
terrorifts on anything and not getting inspected for any human
rights violations. That ended as part of the terrorists, and
Timu just came out and said, we're not shipping our
stuff directly to the American consumer from China anymore. We
got to figure out a plan B. So there's a
lot of internal panic within the Chinese economy. The Chinese

(15:23):
are still saying they don't want to negotiate. They just
came out on Friday and said they would evaluate the
prospect of negotiating, and that's as far as they're going
