Speaker 1 (00:00):
Nicky Deloche, Hello, Hello, welcome to the show.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Good morning. Thank you so much for helping me.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
I was looking forward to having you on. I'm a
big fan. But you know, I guess I can't be
the biggest fan because it wasn't until this week when
I booked down on the show that I found out
you're yet another one from that all New Mickey mouse Club.
I never knew that about you ever.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I sure am. Yes. That was the first big job
that I got when I was a kid, and boy
was it a good one.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I mean, what a class, What a graduating class that was.
Here's the sad part, though, Nicky, like I'm fifty eight,
I'm fifty eight years old. I remember that. I like,
I remember I was on the radio when the all
New Mickey mouse Club, like they launched it, and you know,
it was kind of this new it was dance. It
was very away. Yeah, it was very different from the

(00:51):
Mickey mouse Club of my youth. And what a graduating class.
I can't say that I remembered, you know, like when
Britney's popped. It's not like I looked and I was like, hey,
if I remembered anyone. Oddly enough, it might have been
only Carrie Russell. I don't know why, but I think
it was Carrie Russell.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
She's well, I know why. I mean, the hair, the face.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Maybe, yeah, she's just she's she's incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah, yeah, I mean Carrie Russell is so memorable. I
know what a class I said this day, I still
bench myself. I can't believe that that happened. You know,
I was a little girl from a really small town
in South Georgia with I think at the time we
had like one traffic light, and you know, being a

(01:40):
singer and a dancer and a performer had been my
dreams since I was like three years old, believe it
or not. And to get on a show like that
with so many kids that auditioned for it, it's it's
one of those things that you just it's hard to
wrap your brain around. But I'm sure grateful that it
happened to me because it was one of the best
experiences my life.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Oh and launched so many great careers. And I would
imagine that it is but oddly, absolutely oddly enough. I
mean I came across you as abbreviated as they were,
believe it or not, Like I watched North Shore. My
mom was a huge Days My Mom was a huge
Days of our Lives fan. I watched Awkward. I mean

(02:24):
I remember watching Awkward. Yeah, yeah, so that's why I
say it, like, you know, it was always familiar with
your work, but never knowing you were from the big
graduating class of you know whatever it was nineteen ninety
three or what have you. I'm seeing here, Yeah, OK,
so much. I loved Awkward. I remember hearing that it

(02:46):
wouldn't be coming back. It had a good little run,
though it had a longer run than North Shore.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Absolutely no, we did that show for six years. We
were doing Awkward, and it was one in a again,
one of the greatest work experiences of my life. Actually,
I'm in New York and one of my very best
friends who we did the show together, Desie Ritick, she's
now on The Daily Show. I was just with her
yesterday and we were talking about We spent hours talking

(03:17):
about Awkward in the memories that we had on that show.
It was the Lauren Uneric. She'd created it, developed it,
so ran wrote it, and man, it was just such
a beautiful love letter to anyone who went through high school,
which is you know, most everyone and I thought she

(03:37):
did such a beautiful job creating those characters and giving
us such a fun playground. And I missed Lacey Hamilton,
that was the character of Fate on that show. She
was so special and I miss it. She's one of
those characters that if I could put those wedges, she's
always in these like field wedges, I could put those

(03:59):
wedges on one time that would make me so I
love it.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Yeah, yeah, And I know we have something else to
talk about here. But what was interesting was I watched
that with my daughter on MTV, who was just starting
high school, maybe two years out from high school. And
I remember at certain points it could get heavy that
show too, but it was something we did together, you

(04:22):
know what. I just remember being conscious of the fact
I don't want her to like dread high school. I
want her to be excited for The show was obviously
very heavy stuff, but it was something we watched together
for like four years. I feel like we watched that
show together.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
We heard that, you know, I heard that from so
many moms and daughters throughout the years, and it keeps
going because people keep finding it. Yeah, and then I'll
have somebody come up and say I watched that with
my daughter or a young girl, say I watched that
with my mom or my dad, And I think the
thing about the show that was so great is there
was so many Yes, we might have really touched upon

(04:59):
heavier issues, but we did it in this comedic way
which made it very accessible. And it also opened up
the room for a mother or a dad to have
a conversation with their child about something that might, you know,
be awkward to get into sre out having the foundation

(05:20):
of the show so I share that a lot of
parents and I totally I totally agree. Thank you for that.
I really appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Thank you again around with Nikki Deloch and it's a
much more lighthearted fair that we're actually just discussing. I'm
also a huge one. What my daughter won't do with me,
believe it or not, because we're very tight, is she
will not do You're not to up. I'm a huge
Hallmark Christmas movie fan. I have been for a long time.
My daughter mock no matter who's it could be the

(05:50):
coolest person. I remember there was a Christina Milian one
and I'm like, you watch this one with me, won't you?
And she's like, no, you're on your own with Hallmark
Christmas movies, so I am on my own with those,
but this is this is great stuff. It's Christmas at Sea.
Is this the first ever like docuseries? Like the first
time that a four part limited series and it's already begun,

(06:13):
I believe it has.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
We are one episode in. We have three more episodes
left of this four part docuseriies, and I just I'll plug.
It's Mondays at eight pm on the Hallmark Channel and
then it streams the next day on Hallmark Plus. And
you know, this is a love letter to us fans.
I mean we you know, our fans are the best

(06:38):
fans in the world. I don't know if you know this.
They they don't not just watch our movies, they show
up to events, they support our causes. And this was
our our way of giving back to them and highlighting
their stories and giving them their own, you know, Hallmark
Moment and so our audience such a reflection of the

(07:01):
content that we make. There's such beautiful humans and you
know they're all going through their own hard It's why
they all tune in to watch Home Markets, because you know,
when you're going through so much, something really hard, and
you watch something that brings you joy and comfort and peace,
and at the end of the day, you can feel

(07:21):
that everything is going to be okay. I get that
on such a big level. I've gone through a lot
of hard myself. I have a younger son that's had
three heart surgeries. I've lost my dad. So I am
I am the audience.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
The audience is meet.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
I get what our Yeah, I get what our shows
and our movies do for people. So this is just
a way for us to give back to them and
just spotlight how amazing they are.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah, so we get a con, a Hallmark con, a
Christmas con I guess you could call it that comes
to town once a year, and I love those. And
that's basically what this is, right. It's a sold out
Christmas cruise from Miami did Nassau. So it's a bunch
of all christm movie fans who are like seeing themselves now, Like,

(08:08):
are there people tuning into this on Monday nights looking
for themselves? I would imagine there are wondering if they
made the cut.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Oh oh yeah, I'm sure people were like, wait there,
I am, there am Sam.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
I got to tell you, I didn't know what to expect.
I remember one I did really bad seat sickness. I
have to wear like a prescription patch. I didn't know
what to expect. I've never done anything like this before.
All I knew is that, you know, my friends, meaning
the other talents, we were all we were all in,
and then we were going to have all of our

(08:44):
you know, amazing fans aboard. And the second my feet
hit that ship, I mean, it's unexplainable, and I think
when people watch it, they'll feel it. The amounts of
joy that came off of that boat. I just kept
a floating island of joy. I don't think I've ever

(09:04):
felt that much joy in one single solitary place in
my life. It was truly one of the greatest experiences
of my life, and I hope people feel that whenever
they watched the show.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, and we are smack dab in the middle of
the thirteenth annual Christmas in July, event, which I love.
I'm a big christ fan. I start counting down the
days right now, and I wish, I wish I got
on this ship. I think I remember hearing about well.
I think I remember when tickets went up for so
for it. I didn't know you guys were documenting it.

(09:37):
I think it's very cool. It's Christmas, It's see it
airs every Monday night. Like she said on the Hallmark Channel,
Nikki Delote, so many great stuff you project. Do you
have a Christmas movie coming up this coming season?

Speaker 2 (09:50):
I am going to shoot my Christmas movie in August
and I am so excited about this one, and I
think our audience will be too. But I have to
keep it under lock. And this is a really really,
really really cool opportunity that we are getting to do
in this next Christmas movie that I'm going to do,
so everybody, I'll just have to tune in at the

(10:11):
end of the year to see.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Are you a Manhattan executive who begrudgingly goes home to
her small town and falls in love with a guy
whose farm your company is just about to buy.
