Speaker 1 (00:00):
Finally the debut is taking place. Natasha Lupchenko wtnh's own.
All this time, you thought, I was like, you got
to come in live, be in the studio live.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
You and I both work in communication, and we had
a major communication issue.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
I don't know what we did.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I think it was you, Natasha, it was really, it
was really it was all you.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Everybody else just been there like, I'm on the here
from six to nine, and I'm like, well, I'm on
the air six to nine, so I don't know if
I can make it there. You do have a.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Phone, right, Hilari?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Well, yeah, you surely your co host Jillian over in
Connecticut's Morning Buzz, she was on the show. You listened
to her at the very least you clicked like on
that podcast when I posted it. Surely did you not
notice she was calling in and Alyssa was calling in.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
I have no explanation for myself.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, you watched them prank me yesterday. You saw how
difficult it is for me just to tape my quick
little hit.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
You see what they do to me. You witnessed it.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
You know. I feel like it's the sign of love,
you know, family bonding.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I love those Guys, I love running into you in
the studio when you're doing your thing. I watch you
every morning. Guys, I always tell you I want to
ask you. And again it's Natasha Lupchenko.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Who you know.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
If you were doing this twenty years ago, your name
would be like Natasha Storm or hard Natasha.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I have a stage name.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, you wouldn't get to go with the In this
day and age, we all get to go with our
actual Well. My last name is actually Penekini, but it
was abbreviated yeah, since I was a kid. But I
usually I use a lot of your stories you're out
on the street, you know, covering some scary stories sometimes
that I use here.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Which do you prefer, Natasha.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Do you prefer the morning buzz stuff which is fun
and community minded, or being out there in the thick
of it on the streets of New Haven some scary stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Oh it's tough. I mean they're both, I think very important.
I originally got into all of this thinking I was
going to do just lifestyle. That is what I have
always gravitated towards. So I do have a very special
place in my heart for that. If I had to choose.
But the new stuff you know, that's the stuff that
really impacts people's day to day right now, and that

(02:13):
you know, gives me a lot of importance and meaning
as well. So you know, it's hard to choose, and
I'm very lucky, and it's pretty rare that I get
to do both every single day.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
It is.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Well, that's why I asked, you know, if there was
one you favored more than the other, because it is
to be able to do both. You do them both well.
And I do mean that. I always say that to you,
but it's rare. That's why I wondered if you leaned
one way or the other.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
No, I love them both.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
And you're a New York native. Where did you grow
up in New York?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I grew up Long Island, New York.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Is that why every weekend you're on a boat. Every
weekend you're on a boat eating lobster?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Condetic Connecticut people are boaters too, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
No, it's true, but your social media feed it always
on the weekends, it always looks like an episode of Cribs.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Why does it always like an episode of Cribs.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
You're on a yacht, you're eating lobster, you're drinking champagne,
you're living good kid.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
You know, my boyfriend, he is a lifelong voter, so
I have to credit him. He introduced me to all
of that. I always yeah, he's a beautiful vote. I
always grew up loving the beach. Obviously Long Island, South Shore,
they have beautiful beaches there, wavy sandy, so I was
always a beach lover, water lover. But this is very
new for me. But I can't complain.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
No, you're doing You're doing great. What are you covering today?
What can people expect today? On Connecticut's Morning Buzz T
Morning Buzz Sucy.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Buts so we have there's this competition coolest thing made
in Connecticut. I don't know if you've heard of it,
and they're highlighting in a bracket style all of these
different items that are made right here in our state.
And we have a great amount of things actually made
and produced here, so sure you know, like Fasha's Chocolates
is one of them on the bracket Rose Sisters Chips.

(03:57):
But then there's also other things like urban mining. Because
there's so many different industries and it's this whole competition
all in good fun, but eventually a winner is chosen
as the coolest thing made in Connecticut. So we're having
the organizer of that whole thing tell that to our viewers,
kind of introduce some of the competitors. That'll be really great.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
You're also in the kitchen there a lot too on
wtn H. I know when when Taste of New Haven,
when Colin Catlan, our pizza guy comes rolling.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Through, so I know you get to do that fun
stuff too, and oh yeah, we have.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Some great guests in the kitchen. It's always a fun time.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Were you on earlier this week? Did you have a
tilio from uh Cash Iron? Didn't I see a segment
with him earlier this cast Iron staff.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yes, right here on State Street and New Haven. He's
been coming in throughout the summer bringing us some recipes
that we can hopefully try to make at home. He
makes it nice and easy for us. I mean I
am not the best in the kitchen.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, I was just good to ask do you cook
at Oh?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
We have a segment called Trending Tuesday where we make
these viral recipes online Jillian and I every week, and
I think the reason that we keep it around so
long is my uh, my directors and producers like to
see me embarrass myself. Yeah, so I think it makes
good TV.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
There's not a kitchen on the boat. Then there is
no kitchen on the boat.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
There is, but we rarely use it. You're living there's
a little still of actually had a microwave.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
I sure, I'm sure you're living well and you deserve it.
You're the best.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
And this is your first ever radio appearance. We finally
got it on the books, and I appreciate you allowing
me to be the first, the first radio show. It
is still that right. You didn't do one during all
this time, did you No?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
This is my very first radio appearance, And hopefully soon
I will get over the embarrassment of not realizing that
I could just call in.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
And.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yes, I'd love to call in again. You are a blasphemy.
I love seeing you every what day? Do I see
you Wednesdays? Then here? Yes?

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yeah, you can't love it that much. It was just yesterday.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I can't keep up. Every day blends into the next.
In the news business, I can't keep tracking it does.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
But thanks for calling in, and everybody make sure you're
checking out Connecticut's Morning Buzz. It's Natasha lup Chenko and
I'll see you next Thursday.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I will see you next Thursday. I well, forgot vibe
