Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, hello, this is the first time I think vont
and I have ever done the Minnesota Goodbye just the
two of us.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Maybe one time, like in that weird phase where I
wasn't officially on the show yet but still.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Bailey started, Yeah, okay, Well it's Jenny and Vaught today.
Dave left early because he had to go swallow a
camera for his tummy, so he's had a doctor's appointment,
and then Bailey still on vacation, but she'll be back tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
The gang's all back tomorrow, everyone's back.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
So we only have one email, So Vont, I hope
you came prepared with tons of content for the Minnesota
Goodbye today.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I live such a riveting life and part of the
reason we don't have emails is because you all have
been emailing about the live show on Saturday. Yes, which
can I do? You want to get into that before after?
I have a couple of things I want to.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Say, we can get let's do it now?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Then well, I because I haven't, I'm not on this podcast.
So two things. One, what's the plan playing? What are
we doing?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Right?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
So we're gonna have people if you want, because maybe
you're shy. We're gonna have like kind of a fish
bowl or something at the door where you can leave
a little question and you can put it in there.
But we're also going to have a microphone where you
can come up to the microphone and ask questions yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Okay, cool.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Dave and I kind of talked about.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Maybe playing a dirtier version of some games. Well actually
that was more my idea, of course, but he was like,
let's play thing fast, and I go, how about like
a dirty version of it?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Because it's the.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Minnesota Goodbye, So we'll probably play some games TBD on food, drinks,
all that stuff. It's just going to basically be us
answering questions. If you have an email that you want
to send ahead of time, you're welcome to do that
as well. But Dave did send out emails yesterday to
those who made it in because we did have a ton.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Of interest, so good thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Unfortunately, we can't get everyone in because there is a
capacity in our performance room, but just so you know,
if you got in, you would have gotten an email.
And then I think there's a couple that have responded
saying they might only need one ticket now, so we
might have some more room and we'll get that figured
out today or tomorrow and send emails out to other
people who have asked to come in.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
That's so exciting, and I bet you means that if
they do it again in the future.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
And once again, just a reminder, it is a twenty
five dollars cash donation at the door for Christmas wish
when you come.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So I'm a little nervous about what because I'm never
on this podcast. Yeah, I feel like Saturday there's gonna
be a bunch of inside jokes go flying across the
room that has no idea about no or like I
never ever hear Juanita's rants, you guys from her rants.
I know Janita just from calling into no phone screen
to Friday. Hey hey it's Juanita.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Juanita will be on to do a rant, of course,
and just like some other people that listen to the
Minnesota Goodbye, there's a ton of people who contribute all
the time, so I'm assuming some of those people will
be there. But uh, that's it. So if you have
questions for us, feel free to email. But I know
that we sent out emails yesterday, so today is what
Tuesday today?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
So Monday, you would have gotten an email.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Okay, here's the one email we have that is not
in regards to the Live Minnesota Goodbye says Hello, It's Jess.
I'm not sure if you are short along on emails
right now, but I just thought of a topic or
questions with Christmas and the holidays coming up. One, what
is the best gift you have received? So think about
that for a second. Font what's the best gift you've

(03:10):
ever received? God, I feel like I need a second
to think.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I think it's not a Christmas gift. One of my
favorite gifts I've ever gotten was tickets to go see
Jimmy Fallon because I've since I was younger, all I've
ever wanted to do was like be an entertainer, you know,
and I've loved watching Late Night if you know that
about me, like Conan O'Brien, the Jimmy Fallons of the world.
But you have to be sixteen, I think at sixteen
or seventeen to get in. So I got surprised with

(03:36):
those tickets and it was the coolest experience because I
the same day i went, I'm sitting on maybe the
closest chair to the roots, like I'm pretty much on
the floor. Imagine like front row seats of the show,
and at the end of the show, the roots leave.
That's their house band, and I guess their music director
not Questlove. Walks around the corner of the bleachers where

(03:57):
I'm sitting and then circles back out of nowhere. It's like,
you want and you hand me quest Loves drumsticks. Yeah,
And I was like, what the fuck? Yes, And so
now I have auto in their autograph. So I have
autograph Quest Love drumsticks.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
That's so cool. And I didn't know that you had those,
So that's super cool. I would say, I don't know
if I could name like the best gift I've ever received,
but I've I know like ones that have been so
so thoughtful. Was my mom would do something unique a
lot of times for like a big present for us
every year. And I remember the one year she got
us tickets to go see The Lion King in like
Chicago or Madison or something in the Broadway. And so

(04:31):
what she did was she put the Lion King in
three separate stockings for my sisters and nine because I
have two, and so we like had to dump our
stockings out. Spell out the letters because they were on
those little like pieces that you'd make a necklace with.
The letters were so we had to spell it out
and figure out what it was, and I remember it
just being kind of, you know, a unique thing to

(04:51):
learn what your present was. And then of course we
loved going to stuff like that, and it's been a
minute since we've gone to a show like that, So
all right, another one is the best? What is the
best gift you have given someone?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
That's very subjective.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I know it's so hard. You're a good gift give her.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It's funny because last, literally the last thing I did
before bed, I'm planning on Lisa's birthday because her birthday
is the twentieth of this month, and so I have
the double whammy of birthday Christmas. God bless your soul.
If you also have something similar to that, Uh, you
go first the time so I can ponder.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Okay, I also was going to ponder because I can't remember.
I feel like my brain is Mushraye now trying to
think because we've given so many gifts to our parents
over the years, so I definitely feel like there's probably
something in there, like I can picture my mom, like
crying opening something and I can't think of what that was,
and so I don't know what it is, but it

(05:40):
was probably some kind of experience, like we took her
or to do something.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Which is I think Trump's all gifts.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yes, I fully agree. I am all about experiences, but
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
I mean, I'll tell you well, I'll try to destall
for you. Yeah, go find I listen wants to go
to this restaurant. If you've been pleased, let me know.
What's called Cobble. It's in It's Anneapolis. I don't know
if it's like Northlop area, but they have apparently great sushi,
great cocktails. And shout out to our friend Shade who
literally just posted a real till she went there and
it was phenomenal. Shadev on it. Oh, she is always

(06:12):
follow her day in the cities. If you look it
for like good RECs to go do, like holiday theme
stuff or just good restaurants. But Kabble, if you've been there,
let me know if that's good. I want to take
her there. I've bought her a couple of purses. But
like I'm trying to think of an experience. I took
her to go see Aladdin online on Broadway. That's awesome,
I and you brought up uh Broadway. Broadway is so cool.
That's the first and only time I've ever been. If
you've never been, please go. Yeah, And I know Bailey's

(06:35):
the advocate for that, but like it's so true.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I think. No, I fully agree.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I've done quite a few Broadway shows with both my parents,
either they've gotten us tickets or we've gotten them tickets
or whatever. I fully agree those are great fun experiences.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
I mean, I feel like a lot of the gifts
that I've given that I think I nailed were little ones.
Like for the last person I was dating, I got
a shirt because they were obsessed with Survivor and it
just had a bunch of Jeff Prope's faces on it.
Who's the hostess Survivor. So I feel like that was
a pretty good one that I nailed.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
And then I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
I always write down notes throughout the year about what
I should get people.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
You're the only one I don't have you.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
I know what I need you to give me for Christmas?
What I just I just finished that bottle of lotion
you got me last year.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
I need.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Write it down right now.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
I am literally no, because I think I got it
from Amazon and then something was weird about it and
I had to return it and I went to Target
and Set or whatever. But no, I was like looking
at my list because I keep a list throughout the
year when someone randomly mentions something and I just like
go to my notes app and I write down what
they mentioned. And you are the one. I didn't have
anything at all this year for same.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
I have an idea for Bailey and Dave, but I
need something for you. It's so funny, and I we
didn't text you about this, but I'm like, I feel
like it's weird if I just text Jenny, Hey, I
need lotions.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
No, I'm obsessed.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
The only thing I still have in my phone for
you is floss because I think you talked about how
you didn't have floss one time and I got you that.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Also, I think a birthday. Yeah yeah, but you think
I'm going through two birthdays with you. Guys, It's not
a lot, but it still is, Like, no, it is.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
For sure, Okay.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
So and then the last one from Jess it says,
what is a gift or two that is on your
radar that you want for yourself, she says, trying to
create my Christmas list and want more experiences than stuff
to clutter. But also I don't just want to ask
for a bunch of car wash coupons and pants I
saw on TikTok to wear for work, even though both
are practical items.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
So things that are on my radar.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I usually do not have things, but this year I
do because I broke my Fitbit like a year and
a half ago or something, and I really, yeah it was,
it already was, and so I do really want like
an Apple Watch or a fitbit again.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
And then also my headphones I used.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
To work out on and there's like a piece that
keeps falling off, and then I keep losing the piece
and I have to keep getting a new one, and
it's kind of like I should just get new headphones.
So mine sound like they have to do with just
working out, but they're not. I also would like a knife,
a knife set, because I think my knives are shit,
so mine are like pretty much things that These are

(09:11):
not things that you guys should get me.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
They're way too expensive. This is not stuff you guys
should get me.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Well see, but yeah, those are stuff for me and
then there's like a million things I want for my
camera van, but that's a whole different story.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
What about you? What do you want this year?

Speaker 2 (09:23):
I told Alyssa a new band for my Apple Watch,
and it don't even got to be from Apple because
those are expensive as hell, just like an Amazon one
cologne's because I can never have enough of those. Yeah,
And then I'm I try to be simple gift cards
to like foot locker, Nike packs on like all of
my stores. Tell so, tell me, give give me some
ideas for you. I thought about one thing that you

(09:45):
just said that I would like to buy you, but
you said you don't want us to spend all that money.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
And that stuff I just listed are things that are
too expensive. I would never ask for that from you guys.
Maybe Daddy Bear. Maybe I'd be like Daddy Bear, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, No.
I I don't know, because I really, I really only
want things that I need and I don't need anything,
you know, like I really I need those things. I

(10:09):
do actually kind of need the well, I don't need
an Apple Watch, but I would like to have one.
I definitely need new headphones. But I don't know. I mean,
I just look around my house and it's hard because
it's like I have gotten better at decorating, but I
would never ask you to buy me something to decorate
because you probably wouldn't nail like the style I want,
you know, like that would be way too hard. But
I mean, I'm a basic bitch. Okay, you give me

(10:30):
a cute candle from Target, I'd be so hyped. Like
simple things like that make me so happy. I don't
really need anything exciting I do. I did find something
for Dave the other day. He'll never listen back to this,
so I'll just say where I got it from.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
But it's from Patina.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
That's the store that I love, and it's something that
like he definitely can use. It's not something that he needs,
but I think it's funny and I think he'll like it.
But Dave, I told him yesterday, I go, you are
so fucking hard to shop for it. Everything he does
and if he doesn't have it, he buys it. So
it's like it's really hard to shop for him. And
he doesn't want things because him and Susan are trying

(11:10):
to get rid of shit. So I think the thing
I got him is like it's useful and he could
toss it at some point after using it for a while,
and it's not going to be a big deal, so
I wouldn't care. But Patina's a great place to look
for just like cute, it's probably definitely a little more
like female oriented.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
But I got something for Dave. There.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
There is like sections about like camping. If I'm stereotyping,
there's like camping sections and fun like Minnesota books and
stuff like that. There's something really cool that I'm thinking
about getting for my mom if I can find the time.
But it says on the title it says I wrote
a book for you, and then on the inside there's
all these prompts in the page. It it's probably like

(11:47):
thirty forty pages long, and it's all these things of
like I admire this about you and I love when
you did this because of this and that and that,
and so I'm thinking about getting that from my mom
and filling it out. Obviously you have to fill it
out for that person, just see to make sure I
have time because I want to put some actual thought
into it.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
And it's not just a couple pages. It's like quite
a few pages you have to fill out. So that's
the people thing.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, I totally get what you're saying, the you only
want things that you need because love Bailey, I do.
Last year, what of the holidays, she got me the
Tree of Wisdom, the from the Wiggles. Oh yeah, and
she got me the like, uh, the stuff to dress
up as him. And for the longest it's sat in
that studio because I was like, I don't know what
to do with this. Yeah, and I think part of

(12:28):
it also came in late, so I was like, I
can't even try to use it if I wanted to.
But I definitely get especially just because we have such
a small apartment right now. It's like and Ava takes
up so much space our puppy. I'ms like, I don't
know what to do with some of these things. So
I totally understand I only want things that I need.
It's not me being unappreciative, it's just like.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, it's hard.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Well, if anyone has some like generic gift ideas you
want to throw out there and email us in we
would love to hear them, but also send us actual emails,
like we obviously appreciate everyone sending emails about the live broadcast,
but like we said, we're full now and we need
content for our actual Minnesota Goodbye podcast, so send those
into ryanshow at KDWE dot com. Dave and Bailey are

(13:06):
going to be back tomorrow, but thank you so much
for listening,
