Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is the Minnesota Goodbye with Bailey and Jenny once again. Hello,
you're stuck with us? Dave's back tomorrow. Okay, first email,
I'm already excited for this one, says Hey, I'm a
big fan of your show. Here is what I thought
you guys looked like before I saw your faces. So
we did a segment last week that we were like,
if you haven't seen us before, what do you think
we might look like? Because a lot of people see
(00:21):
us on social media now or watch our dr TV
or whatever it is. So first off, Bailey, yeah, I
thought you looked like Ray. Don't judge me. I had
no idea of her ethnicity. Bailey is a white woman.
Ray is one of my favorite actresses.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
She's a bluld woman.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
She's brilliant. She has like, produced, directed, acted in so
many great shows. Insecure is so good. I highly recommend,
but is great.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
She seems way cooler than me, So but thanks Vant.
Thought that Vant was jacrob State Farm.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Okay, actually could could con they have the same length hair?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I would sort of yep mm hmmm for me, it
says Ariano Maddox, which she is famous from vander Pump Rules.
She helps host Love Island. That is very sweet of you,
because she is a battye is. She is so beautiful,
but no, so.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Are you, though.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I feel like she's just like the glam glammy, glamed
version of you.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, and then Dave, I thought looked like Ryan Seacrest.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Which honestly makes sense.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah. Yeah, So if you can shout this out on
your show, that would be great. If you could shout
this out tomorrow around oh seven thirty. Sorry, we didn't
do this on the show. We should down in Minnesota, goodbye,
But I'll forward it and see if I can get
it on the show for tomorrow because it's pretty funny. Yeah,
let me do that right now before I.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Forget in my brain.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Actually now with all of my thoughts, I'm gonna pretend
that I'm er Ray yes as I speak. So that
helped feel better about myself. I feel like, here's a
hot take. Maybe Jenny you agree with this. I don't know,
but I always feel like I'm better looking in my head.
And then when someone sends me a video of me,
they'll be like, oh, I took this video of you
the other day.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I'll be like, how dare you so?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
I look awful in this video, but like in my head,
I'll be talking to somebody and I'll be like, dang,
I've got it going on, but no one hits on
the ever, so maybe not.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I don't know if I feel that way, but what
I do feel is that if you meet me in person,
I think I do look better in person than I
do on in a photo or in a video, because
I have very light features and I feel like they
don't stand out and photos and videos like I literally
was pretty poor back in the day but paid tons
(02:40):
of money to get my eyebrows microbladed because of the show,
because I felt like my face disappeared in photos because
I didn't have like defining dark features, right because I'm
so blonde. And so yeah, I so there is that,
and then I won't forget. So do you remember Joey
from Minneapolis's Love is Blind? Yes, he was like, look
like a hockey guy, the long hair.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Oh he's way better looking in person. Yes, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
And so Fallon was the first person who told me
that because they had him on The Jason Show, and
she was like, honestly, I was kind of shocked, and
I was like, see, that's how I kind of feel
like I am because I think that I just have
those light features, but if you see me in person,
I look a little bit different and you can like
see my eye color better or whatever it is. And
so that's how I've always kind of thought of myself
(03:25):
as like I don't necessarily think I'm better looking in
my head. I just think that, like photos and videos
don't normally do.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Me just I remember when I met you, I thought, gosh,
she is her body's bringing. Her waist is so tiny,
and I wouldn't have known that based on pictures like
got her ass is so fat?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah, and it is.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
It is quite large early stuff. Okay, let's see what
do we get next, I says, hello, friends. I was
just catching up on the Minnesota Goodbye from the past
week and was listening to the one about Taylor Swift
donating to random gofundmes and how Dave said that it's
strange that it coincided with her album release. While it
may have been orchestrated, I almost think that, if so,
(04:04):
it was done as a way to be like, yes,
I'm earning a ton more money with these new album release,
with this new album release, but I'm using the money
to do good for others. I feel like if she
only ever publicized the things she is selling and stories
never came out about what she does for others, she
would be portrayed in a good light. But when people
mention things like paying her truck drivers or donating to GoFundMe,
(04:26):
is it shows that she is still a good person
and isn't solely being obsessed with making money for herself. Yes,
it may be orchestrated that she has others mention it
and the good things she does, But is that the
worst that Taylor coming out and breaking Is that worse
than Taylor coming out and breaking about herself. I think
she's still too humble to break about herself. So just
(04:47):
my two cents have a great day. That's a good point, Like, Oh,
Taylor's not going to come out and be like I
did this, I did that, blah blahlah blah, And I
don't know. I mean, I said my thoughts on it
last week, and I think we can be done with
that one.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
But in mind, if she, if she came out said
she did it to then I guess inspire slash peer
pressure other billionaires to do it. Yeah, that's then I'd
be like, okay, yes, please come out and say so, like, hey, uh,
I tipped all of my truck drivers. There's a bunch
of money, because that's what people should do at my
caliber of wealth. We should be doing that because then
(05:23):
maybe she'll inspire other people to do it. So I
don't think it'd be a bad thing to say. I
don't like why does she need to be humble? I
think she needs to be for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Okay, next email, I might throw this to you, Bailey,
but I forget where this restaurant says. Hi, friends, we
are looking for something to do after dinner at Porsana tomorrow,
which is tonight, Tuesday. So we're two best friends of
twenty two years celebrating our birthday trip, wondering if there's
an open mic night or music or something similar to
(05:53):
the area. We're willing to uber but not super far.
We're staying in Bloomington, but uber into Poorsona and look
looking for something other than bar hopping to do afterwards.
Any suggestions would be great, Bailey, I know this maybe
is your forte Okay, I was just gonna say Porizana.
I had to look it up.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
So put Shack isn't far from it.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yes, that is correct. Put Shack is close if you
want to do something fun, like a little putt putt.
I always love. It's going to be pretty cold out,
but I always love going to the Hewing. The rooftop
is super gorgeous if you went and I have just
like a fun cocktail. They're kind of expensive, but you
could get some cute birthday photos out with the skyscrapers
(06:34):
in the background.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah, and there's also so there's put Shack, but then
there's also the Puttery.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Like both of those are within walking distance.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yes, yeah, you could walk to all of those. If
you want to uber just a little bit. You could
jump over to Northeast and go to like the Otter Saloon.
They do karaoke there if you want to do something
silly like that.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Like also in Northeast, like Sociable Site Works is over
there and they do stuff all the time.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I'm not sure if they're doing it.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
So she was a little bit far away from Prizana though, yeah,
because that's pretty into Northeast. So but I mean, really,
if you walk around the North Loop, you're bound to
find something exciting. A lot of the places that I
go to probably aren't super popping on a Tuesday night,
but maybe that's not even what you're looking for. I
don't really think that anything in that area has like
(07:24):
open mic night though, so sorry, I can't be of
help in that.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
If you go this is also just like a me thing,
but if you go further down it's still it's like
a handful of blocks away. But the Guthrie is open
to the public, so like, yeah, you can't just wander
in and see it play. But they have the Endless
Bridge and then the gold like yellow room. Granted if
it's dark you won't the gold yellow room really won't matter,
but the endless Bridge is really cool to walk out on.
You can see the waterfall in the river from that
(07:51):
angle to stone arched bridges over there.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
She also did say she likes drag shows, and unfortunately,
I think it'd be hard to find one on a Tuesday.
I just looked up at Lush, and Lush has Wednesday
drag bingo, but not on a Tuesday, unfortunately, because Lush
isn't too far from Porzana either, as in northeast as well,
so I don't know that you'll be able to find that. Bye,
good luck and Happy birthday to you and your bestie,
(08:17):
and I hope you guys have a fantastic good day.
All right, This is from our lovely friend Jannita. Hey y'all, Hey,
I figured since you didn't have enough emails, I would
write in. So I need you and Bailey's help. She's
talk going to me, Jenny, Jenny, I saw your post
about the Bali trip coming up next year, and I
would love, love, love to go. Here's the problem. I've
(08:40):
never in my life been on a plane. I don't
think I have even seen the inside of a plane
unless it was on TV. This is why my travel
plans are so limited because I am fucking afraid to fly. Oh.
People always say you have a better chance of getting
into an accident in a car than on a plane.
That may be true, but in a car, I'm in
control and I'm already on the fuck. What are some
(09:01):
tips that could help a person like me overcome my
fear of flying. I thought maybe if I smoked some
weed and drink a gallon of booze that might help,
but my husband said no, they would throw me off
a plane. Lol. Love y'all. Okay, I mean I used
to be super scared of flying myself. Yeah, And I
kind of like was forced into a situation that if
(09:23):
I wanted to go somewhere I was, I had to
start flying by myself. And so I kind of just
had to like put myself in the position to overcome
the fear. And they call that there is like specific NaNs. Yeah,
I was gonna say, they call that exposure therapy, where
you're really put into something that's fearful to you so
you can just like try to get over it, because
you're never going to unless you're actually in the situation usually,
(09:45):
I think, but I hear you, wan Ita, when it
says you have a better chance of getting into an
accident in a car than on a plane, I get it.
I get that because my fear comes from the lack
of control of being in the plane. But I think
what you have to say think about really does come
down to the slight percentage of plane accidents that happened
(10:06):
a year, and how there are hundreds and hundreds and
hundreds of planes going out of MSP every few minutes,
like well not a few minutes, but like every single day,
and all the airports in the world, and yet there's
almost never an accident, and you might get a little
scared with turbulence. Dave's helped me a little bit with
(10:26):
turbulence because basically, you can think of turbulence like an
airplane is a wave in the sky. So there's like
a wave, an ocean wave above you, an ocean wave
below you, and it kind of pushes you up and
down because it's the atmosphere, it's the air pressure, it's
stuff like that. So that's what turbulence is. It isn't
some kind of crazy phenomenon that's going to just shove
you to the ground.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
And so Daunce, yeah, same.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
And and if it's consistent turbulence for a long time,
I get uneasy. But if it's just for a little bit,
I'm like, all right, cool, Yeah, it's it's whatever.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Fine.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
So I don't know if anyone else has any ideas
of how to get over if you're a flying especially
since Wanni has never flown once in her life, feel
free to email us because we want to help you out.
Wanting to want to get you out there. Wanted to
was messaging me when I was in the North Shore
and I was like, get your ass up here. She's like,
it's so beautiful, like you're making me want to come
and I was like, get up here. She's like, black
(11:19):
people don't do things like this.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
And they can.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Okay, So there we go. We got one more email
here says hey Jenny in the morning morning Zoo. I'm
listening to the show from this morning while making the
move from Minnesota to Wisconsin, which I'm so sad that
I won't hear you guys on my radio every day,
but thank god for the iHeart app of course. But
just a random thing I noticed on the Monday motivation.
This speaker is also in a song that I like.
(11:44):
It's called Overthinker by Inzo I n Z. It's em vibes.
Just a weird connection. Anyways, Hope you guys have a
good week. Yeah, that guy, I see his voice on
so many different things now on social media.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
It's very a particular voice.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yes, yes so, but that's a fun little fact. So
once again the songs called Overthinker by I n Z.
Oh wait, good LUs moving as well? Yeah, can I
read something?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
So one of our listeners, her name is Renee, she
sent this to me in a message. I've been talking
about like hinge, all these guys that I see on
Hinge in like different trends that I'm seeing in all
of these different men on Hinge, and she sent me
one that's kind of like the big boss of all
of these trendy things mixed together.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
And I just want to read what this guy said
on his profile.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Okay, I'm okay, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
He says.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
I'm thirty six, single and new to the area and
still don't know many people other than the guys I
work with. I actually live about an hour outside of Atlanta,
but I work here around the Bloomington area for now
until January when we go south for the winter and
I stay in Shockapee. While I'm here, I usually stay
here for a month or two at a time, and
then I go back home for four to five days,
(12:59):
just looking for someone who wants something casual for now
and then see how it progresses and if it's something
we actually want to make a thing. I love going
to concerts, sporting events, and going on adventures.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I've played drums my whole life.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
I have twelve tattoos, and just about like just about
any kind of music that you can think of.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
I love to cook.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
It is my biggest passion, and I would like to
own a food truck. If anyone's out there that would
like to make dinner, do or do something sometime, just
hit me up. And then he has a bunch of
pictures of him just standing like sideways, which is.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Such a weird thing me and a lot of it.
Does he have a whole ass family or something?
Speaker 2 (13:36):
They don't know? I don't know, but what I think
is funny.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
And I've said this about Hinge is that I try
like on Hinge, you don't just it's not a swipe
right swipe left situation. You can either essentially swipe left
just say like no to people, or if you want
to quote unquote swipe right. You have to like something
on their profile. And Katie Capp has taught me a
lot about stuff that if all they do is like
(14:01):
a photo but they don't comment on it, that's giving lazy,
especially if they like the last photo on your profile,
which just means they scroll to the bottom of your
profile and hit like.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
And that's it.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
So what I've noticed is that when I try and
match with somebody, I have to send them a message
and it will say this person has a note attached
to their profile, would you.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Like to read it?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
And so I'm like, okay, cool, I'll read it and
it's always I don't live in Minneapolis, and then you're like, okay,
why is your location set to Minneapolis. They also say
I'm really into adventure, but then don't define what adventure
is and the whole like, oh, I'm looking for something casual.
That's where it says, like my relationship. What I'm looking
(14:42):
for in relationship, they'll say long term partner or like
long term relationship open to short, which means they just
want to book. And so it's like a lot of
just little trends that you see from here to there,
like this guy doesn't actually live here, he lives in Atlanta,
and he's just looking for something casual for now, and
then just see how it goes, Like let's see if
(15:04):
you're interesting enough for me.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Here are pictures of me standing sideways.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Okay, So a little Devil's advocate on the people who
say they like they don't live here and they live
somewhere else. I do feel bad just knowing like my
younger sister's experience living in my hometown. Yeah, like she
knows everyone and everyone like they all know each other,
like whatever. So I could see her maybe putting her
(15:31):
location in Milwaukee or something if she was willing to
like move to that city, you know. And I and
also I have a friend whose girlfriend they've been together
for a couple years now, but she just moved up here,
maybe like a year and a half. She just moved
to the Minneapolis. I think she lived in like Wasaw, Wisconsin,
and she I think they met on a dating apple
when she was visiting Minneapolis for like a weekend, right,
(15:53):
And so they met and then they did form a
relationship and just kept it long distance for a little bit,
and now she moved here. So I feel like they're
there are a lot of people out there who are
willing to move for the right relationship. Yeah, And it's
hard if you live in Bamidge and you it's like
there's no one else here, Like I've got to open
but I'm not going to just move to Minneapolis. Yea
(16:13):
if like my whole life is.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Here, right, I get that, I just I totally.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
But then I see it from my point of view
where I'm like, you don't even live here, Yeah, I will.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Never see you.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yeah, So like why just because you're open to moving
here doesn't mean you're here, like, where when am I going.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
To date you? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (16:28):
No?
Speaker 1 (16:28):
And I get it too because I'm like, I'm the
type of person who when I dated a guy that
lived in Woodbury, I was like, I can't fucking do this.
It's a thirty minute drive. I can't at Northfield.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
I'm like, scrolling through and see someone lives in Northfield,
I'm like, no, too far, too far, I can't do
it again.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Okay, Well, thank you everyone for the emails. Dave, It's
going to be back to more tomorrow, so we definitely
need some more. Send your emails into ryanshow at ktewb
dot com. If you've got any any opinions on hinge
dating dating in a different city than where you live,
we'd love to hear those once again and show at
KDWB dot com
