Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, everybody, let's get started with the Minnesota Goodbye.
I will tell you there are more emails today than
we've probably ever gotten before. It is kind of crazy,
and here we go. Let's get started with Kyle. Hey, y'all,
quick question for Jenny. Do you ever feel unsafe traveling
in your camper, especially during the night. I'm a big

(00:21):
dude who loves to camp, but I feel vulnerable after
dark in my tent. Maybe I watched too many weird
videos on TikTok.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I do have weird noises that'll happen and it terrifies
the shit out of me. But I do have protection
in my van, so I have that for peace of mind.
And also I have a van that locks. I don't
have a tent that you could.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Getting into a tent is very different than trying to
get into a van. So my keys are always easily
accessible for me to be able to get up to
the front of my car and drive away if something
were to be happening. So yeah, I mean there's moments
for sure, because I'm literally in the middle of nowhere
when no cell and I.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Could be murdered in any given situation.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
But I don't know. Yeah, I thought about that too.
As far as a tent, yeah, but I would say
that you're pretty safe. I mean, people just aren't out
in campgrounds looking to break into a random tent or RV.
I mean it's very possible. I guess follow up question
which you don't have to answer because I know it
could be controversial. Do you or would you consider carrying

(01:28):
a firearm?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Jenny, I mean, I respect everyone's gun rights. I'm just
not a gun person, so no, I won't carry a firearm.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
It seems like Dave is proficient. He probably recommended this already.
Have you ever shot a gun at the range? I'm
curious to know any pros cons or any insight. Jenny.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
The only time I've shot a gun at a range
is because Dave had all of us interns go when
I was an intern on the show with Crisco, and
I'll be honest, I didn't want to do it at all,
but I was an intern and I wanted to be
I wanted to stand out, and so I was like, sure,
I'll go to the gun range. And we did like
a video with Crisco and stuff and me and another intern,
but it was only Criscal that came. It wasn't anyone

(02:09):
else from the show. But I when I say I
genuinely hated every second of it.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I did.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
But it come tell me why.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
I just I don't like guns. It's it's pretty simple.
I just don't like guns.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
And so I yeah, yeah, I've grown up with guns.
I shot at twenty two. I've still got the twenty
two that I used to shoot with my dad when
I was a little boy. I got a rifle for Christmas.
One year. It fell apart, the stock came off, and
I eventually had to throw it away. And I also
owned the world's most powerful handgun, the Smith and Weston

(02:41):
five hundred, which is the size that's got a barrel
the size of a baseball bat. I made that up.
I'm exaggerating quite a bit.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh okay, I.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Don't know anything about guns, so like you could have
made that up, or it could be real, a barrel.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
The size of a baseball bat. Now anyway, So there's
that one. Thank you, Kyle. Here we go. I hope
you don't mind me reaching out like this one's a
question for Jenny. I've been sitting with something I thought
of you because I really admire how you've handled everything
you went through. I went through a very difficult breakup recently.
It was real. I felt a deep connection that's been

(03:15):
tough to shake. It wasn't nearly as long as your relationship,
but in the time we had together, it was unlike
any relationship I've had before. I'm thirty three, I've had
plenty of relationships in the past, so I know this
is just a is not just a first love feeling.
Since I know you've been through something similar, I wanted
to ask how did you do it? How did you
move forward? And especially when you didn't get all the

(03:38):
closure you might have wanted. Thank you from Jessica.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I mean, obviously you don't see all the behind the
scenes of things that weren't good about the breakup, but
you know, I had a solid month of like literally
working and going home and laying in bed and crying,
and then I just started getting up And honestly, it's
like silly to think about that this helped me, but
Instagram's algorithm kind of helped me because it helped me

(04:05):
understand what your brain goes through when you're breaking up
with someone, because you're used to seeing that person every
day and talking to them every day, and so all
of a sudden, you're like not getting that and you're
basically like breaking an addiction. And so that doesn't help either,
because you're actually like you're trying to detach yourself from
someone in a biological sense. So yeah, I mean I

(04:29):
just like let myself feel the feelings. And then I
continued on and I forced myself to go out and
do things because even if I didn't want to, because
I knew I had to like be social. Yeah, but
I mean it's not easy, and like, take your time.
If you're still sad about your relationship, take your time.
I'm not gonna sit and say that I'm not still sad.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I am.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I just don't sit in my bed and cry about
it anymore.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Does the idea of does the hope of finding someone
appeal to you? In other words, it's like, oh, there's
somebody out there that I'm going to love just as
much or more whatever, or is it? Or is it?
And maybe you don't want to answer this one. Is it?
Kind of like? Man, I don't know that I'll ever
find another relationship like that.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Okay, it was so like that at the beginning, I
was like, oh my god, I'm never going to find
this again. This is crazy, like whatever, and that was
like probably one of the hardest parts of being like
single again. But no, I think that there is hope
because to sit and think that there's not someone else
in the world that I could find that I'm going
to love again is really crazy because there's so many

(05:32):
people in the world. My thing, though, is that I
feel old at this point, and like Bailey can probably
relate to this, it's like it does kind of feel
like everyone who wanted to be married got married already,
and now it's kind of I'm in this different pool
of people than I was the last time I was single.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
So it feels a.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Little less hopeful that there's as many fish in the
sea that I can go casting after. But I do
have that hope, probably not as high as I would
it would be, but I have some hope.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yeah, I feel like the the have like the truth
of like having to start over kind of thing is
also exhausting, Like why that's how I felt, because I mean,
I I was in a really long relationship before I
started here, and then when that one was over, it's like, God,
I got to start over again. What's the point. So
then I would just be like, I'll just be single.

(06:21):
I'll just be single forever and ever and ever. So yeah,
it definitely feels like your pool is much smaller.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I told Bailey this day, I think you might have
been gone. But I saw this TikTok and this girl
was like, so, I've been single for like a year
and a half and I've been dating for about the
last year, and I don't have a boyfriend. But what
I do have now is a lawyer an accountant day,
and I think she has made friends with all these people.
So that's kind of like how I go about dating
now is like, if it doesn't work and this is

(06:48):
not my person, I still like to be friends with
people because there's so many people I made friends with
in my single years in my twenties that I love
to this day, and like I don't like them in
a romantic way, but like I just try to reframe
my brain about like if this isn't the person for me,
there could still be a friendship.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yeah, yeah, all.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Right, moving on next one. Jessica says, I got my
staff writer stickers today and it made my day. I
found out that after being a telecommuter for ten years.
I'm being summoned back to the office, and I feel
so many things about that. I really appreciated the bright
spot in the mailbox. I get that that's totally true.
Nothing comes in your mailbox anymore except ads, junk and

(07:28):
more junk, medical bills and medical bills, and so when
you get something pleasant in your mailbox because people don't
write letters anymore, so the only thing you get in
your Most of the time, you maybe get a little
something you ordered, but that's usually on your porch. But
usually I check the mailbox and there's really nothing in
there except ads. There's like a valve pack envelope. Yeah,

(07:50):
and I don't even open a vwel pack end below.
Also listening to one Nita's weekly rant, I'll add that
people are sick ohs, and always looking for blood and gore,
and that's why we just can't all keep driving nicely.
Oh she was pissed. Oh yeah, because people slow down
and look in an accident. Yeah, at least that's what
my mom always said. She's an anesthesiologist, so maybe it's

(08:10):
just more of a frequency phenomenon for her due to
medical experience and training. But it's true when you you
know traffic is backed up and you go by, everybody's
stopped to look at the cop car.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I was in Saint Paul last night seeing a show
at the History Theater and it took me forty five
minutes to get home because they had made ninety four
two lanes and it was so slow. And the second
I get to the point, the point where it's the slowest,
I look over and this is this guy who's got
like a welding machine that's bright light next to me.
And then the second we pass him starts going like, you, guys,

(08:46):
why are we looking at this?

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Dude?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
I think when you've waited in traffic that long, you're like, well,
fuck this, I've earned the right to slow down over. Yes,
I get to look too. Now I'm just like I
want to go home. And it's always kind of like
disappointing when it's just a cop that's pulled somebody over.
You want to see a leg over here in an
arm on top of the roof. You want to see
a head in the bushes, and.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Oh, that would traumatize me.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
That'd be cool. And also again, the story of the
Angel Lifeguards was awesome. I was a lifeguard every summer
after my senior year of high school through my senior
year of college. I never performed a real rescue, but
also worked less much less rough waters aka Lake Riley
and the Eden Prairie Community Center. I hope someday I
can be there for somebody in body or spirit, like

(09:33):
someone was there for Becky. Love you all always, from Jess.
We were at the pool at the Luxor in Las
Vegas last weekend and it's a three foot three inch
deep pool that means it comes up to about your
belly button or so. And there were lifeguards everywhere, and
I thought, man, what a boring ass job. Nobody is

(09:56):
drowning or suffering in this pool. There's no children, al
so there's nobody running. So what do these lifeguards have
to do? But I'm just thinking, as it's a liability
thing where the Luxor has to If you got a pool,
you gotta have lifeguards. Three No, you can, yeah, but
I'm gonna guess they probably don't do anything all day.

(10:18):
All right, let's see what else we got here. Now,
this is this is annoying because somebody did not mean to,
but they spoiled the show. The girlfriend for me, No
I am two episodes away from the end, and they said,
what do you think about the ending? Where? And they
did say they said, this is a question for Dave
only it's about the show. The girlfriend on Amazon Dave
said he was watching. Stop reading if you are not

(10:40):
Dave unless you have watched the entire series. So in
the next sentence, they ruined it. They ruined it the
whole thing for me. So I mean, and I'm not
mad at her because she didn't she gave a warning,
but she must have thought I've watched the whole show.
But holy fuck, don't right in or don't bring up
I remember when the movie e T was out forty

(11:02):
years ago. My friend said, yeah, it's good. You think
he dies at the end, but he doesn't. I'm like,
fuck you, motherfucker, because at the end Et dies, but
then he comes back to life and then he goes home.
Et th No, not like that, get that, but I'm

(11:24):
annoyed that. Now I've loved this show. We've binged the
fuck out of it last night, and it's got so
many dark twists and turns, and now thank you very
much for ruining the fucking show. But I'm not mad
at you because you didn't mean to, but just man,
when you write in, don't ever, ever, ever, ever write
in a spoiler. Just don't.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Okay, Like, did you hear about the end of Titanic
the sinks?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Like sorry, If you email in and you're so curious
about something, be like, hey, let me know when you're
done with this show so we can we can check.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah. Yeah, it's like I mean, once in a while,
I'll be like, it'd be funny if I gave the
word a word on the air today.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yeah, oh man, people will be so mad.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
But they would be so pissed because it's like so
many people enjoy the four minutes they play wordle every
morning and I wouldn't do that. But it would be
funny maybe to do it, but I wouldn't do that.
So spoilers, spoilers, all right, next one, and I think
we have a minute here. You've been asking for questions.
We don't think you'll answer. I have a few. First
for Jenny. If you've got another job opportunity tomorrow to

(12:33):
host a morning show, but you had to move from Minnesota,
would you do it. I don't want you to go anywhere,
but I'm curious if you prioritize career advancement or staying
at your home base of ten plus years.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
I do prioritize career advancement. However, I don't know that
career advancement necessarily for me means hosting a morning show.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Okay, yeah, optional, Jenny question, I totally understand. Yeah, And
it gets a little bit personal about the breakup, and
they want to know why, and I'm going to go
ahead and stop that one because you've never told us why.
I think it's because he was an illegal cocaine mule. Well,
and I think that Andrew nice guy, had a little

(13:12):
extra money because he would go down to Columbia m hm,
swallow condoms full of cocaine, come back up to Saint
Louis Park and poopa mout.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Yeah, that's why I'm so tired all the time now
because I don't have access to it anymore.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Do access to cocaine?

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Yeah, Jenny is huge into cocaine. Love a little what
do they call it?

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Burger bog sugar bailey. What's the worst interaction with a
parent that you've ever had by a speech coat being
a speech coach?

Speaker 3 (13:42):
So I just got one yesterday.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
So I had a meeting with my activities director because
I had a parent complain about me.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, what happened with that?

Speaker 4 (13:49):
So this was the first time a parent has ever
complained about me. They went to, you know, like the administration,
and it turns out like it's a parent of a
student who's never made it seem like they're uncomfortable or.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Upset, like we get along really well.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
And so the parent was mostly just upset that I
was holding their student to a standard that the students
set for themselves, because I run the team like that
of like what do you want?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
What are your goals?

Speaker 4 (14:18):
And this kid's goal was to go to state and
to go to nationals, So I was holding them to
that standard. So the parent was like, it's too much pressure, uh,
and you're yeah, you're putting too much pressure on my kid,
and I'm mad about it. And they essentially also called
me racist because I had I had a.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Like a team event.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
We have, like this big showcase that's like a theater thing,
and this big showcase was on Ramadan and it was
my fault for having it on Ramadan even though it's
on the Shione.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Oh god. But they're like, you only care about the
Catholic kids.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
So okay, I don't want to interrupt, but we have
to wrap up suddenly, abruptly, on the Minnesota Goodbye, thanks
for being here. We love you. Ryan Show at KDWB
