and the kids with Christmas qush.Okay, Well, we're glad it is
(00:43):
you. But both in listening toKatie would be for a while and have
heard Christmas wishes before, Oh yes, and probably thought that you would never
know anybody that would need a Christmaswish, And sometimes that's how life is.
And here we are, well, good to meet the both of you.
It's kind of funny because we shufflepeople in sometimes without getting a chance
to say hi, and I feelso rude, but I was arguing with
(01:04):
Ginny about her game a little whilewith those so let's make the phone call
to Annell and uh and talk tothem in a second. But first we're
just hot to Brandon from College MuscleMovers make sure he is on duty and
ready to go. Good morning,Brandon, Good morning. How are you
this morning? Brandon? I'm doinga good Brandon. Yesterday was in I
(01:26):
think you were in White bear Lakeyesterday? Is that right? Yesterday?
And today you're in at Sego,so you're all over town. Brandon,
Thanks for getting up. Do youhave a partner, a friend or a
roommate that's like, why do youdo this? No, only understand,
(01:46):
I mean I admire you so muchforgetting to do this because you you know,
you get and you're gonna be movingand doing other things the rest of
the day. But Brandon gets upearly to make sure the wish is delivered
and it serves the backup in casea Nell does not answer the phone.
Brandon, thanks for doing what youdo. And uh, and if you
want to find College Muscle Movers, they're online. Brandon, have a great
day, and thanks again. Thankyou. Of course, let's make the
(02:07):
phone call to Annel right now.So I know you said that you guys
worked with Annel's wife. Yes,so I'm assuming you guys are all pretty
close co workers that you got toknow family as well enough through your years.
What do you guys do for workfor nurses? Okay, got it,
So you guys spend a lot oftime together, I assume, yes,
a lot of overnight Yeah. Hello, I'm calling for Annel please.
(02:36):
Yeah, that's me. Hey now, it's Dave Ryan over at KDWB Radio.
A little surprised for you. Youare on the radio right now.
Surprise surprise, But it's good news. I've got some friends of yours here.
Say hi to Jenna and Cada.I know, good morning, right,
(02:59):
you probably kind of under what's goingon. Have you ever heard of
Katie WB's Christmas Wish Channel? That'sokay, not everybody has. It's something
we do every Christmas where we askpeople who listen to the show if they
know anybody who's had a tough yearand could use a little extra love,
(03:19):
a little extra morale boost, alittle extra extra during the holidays. And
Jenna and Cada nominated you for ChristmasWish to do something to help you feel
a little more connected, a littlemore loved because of the year that you've
had, which we'll get into ina second, But who's going to read
the entry? That's going to beJanelle Jenna. I'm sorry, Jenna is
(03:43):
going to read the entry that youwrote in Jenna, whenever you're ready,
Okay. It has been a verytough year for anew and his two kids,
Ella, who's four, and Elleme and who's two, as his
wife's lost A kid's mother passed awaythis past July. I just said,
thirty three years old. She gotdone working in overnight shift as an RN
at a local hospital and went home. She collapsed and died suddenly of dilated
carbon biopathy. Rachel was a phenomenalwife, mother, nurse, and friend.
(04:08):
She had the most contagious laugh. She was so kind and always put
everyone before her son. This tragedyhas been so devastating to an L and
those two little kids as they tryto navigate this life without their mom.
It has put a lot of stresson an L with suddenly becoming a single
dad and worrying about how to affordlife with one income. It would be
a wonderful or it would be wonderfulto be able to bless this family with
(04:30):
something extra this Christmas season. Itwould help take some financial burden off of
Nell and bring some joy to themas they spend their first Christmas without Rachel.
Tonnelle, I'm so so sorry aboutyour loss of Rachel. What a
hard, devastating, shocking loss. And it was sudden. She came home
(04:54):
one day and everything seemed fine andthen she was gone. Now I can't
even imagine how that feels. Andespecially with your kids, Ella and Elman.
(05:14):
El mean, who are four andtwo years old? How are you
holding up? I know right nowwe got you all emotional, but I'm
going to guess during the rest ofyour days and the weeks, you're doing
your best to hold up. Yeah, I just keep busy, I guess
I really don't have time to Iguess do anything. And that's the interesting
(05:40):
thing, full time. And thenI get home, pick the kids up,
and cook dinner and baundry, housechores, all the basics that you
would pretty much do with a family. Yeah, and how do the kids
do? I mean, at fourand two years old, it's probably taken
them a while to understand that mom'snot coming home. Well, my daughter
(06:03):
knows because she because we followed. She saw her on the floor when we
came home, so she knew becauseI found her at home when I came
home with the kids of my wife, I saund her on the floor and
(06:27):
she saw her, and she wentinto the house first, and then came
downstairs and told me, and Ithought she was joking, but oh,
my gosh, and that's how youand that's how you found out. And
then she was gone. Then Iran upstairs and she was on the ground,
and then I took the kids outof the room, and I called
the police. But my daughter knows, she knows so much. She'll ask
(06:53):
about her and we'll talk and andyeah, so she understands. I'm sorry
to make you relive the at butwhat a hard, shocking turn of life.
I mean, everything at that momentchanged, and you've had to adjust
to this the best way you cansince July. Well, let me do
(07:14):
Well, we're going to move pastthat for a moment, and we're going
to talk about the positives and thelove that these two have for you and
your family and the kids in land Christmas Wish is all about a couple
of things. It provides, wehope, two things. Number one,
a sense of love from the peoplewho are around you that support you and
(07:34):
know you and want to help youand want to make you feel love.
That's a big part of it,possibly the biggest part of it. But
there's another part too, and that'swhere we ask people what can we do
for this family that they may needat this Christmas. With all of the
things that you've got to do withdinner and packing lunches and laundry and daycare
(07:56):
and driving and all that type ofthing, we wanted to make your life
a little bit easy. So let'stalk about some things for the kids.
First of all, because they're fourand two. We've got clothes. Because
kids go through clothes, they growand they change, and so we've got
Carter's kids clothing pieces, boys andgirls clothes, lots of clothes. We
(08:16):
got Cat and Jack kids clothing, boys and girls lots. We've got twin
bed sheets. We've got a pillowfork, Pom Pom comforter set for Ella,
just some random things here, afour piece Ultrasoft microfiber toddler size bedding
set, all the things that you'llneed. We got a beauty salon,
play kit, hot wheels, epiccrash dash track that you can play with,
(08:39):
get done on the floor and playwith with the kids. That'll be
awesome sixfold quad four wheeler ride ontoy. It sounds really obnoxious, but
I think you'll really enjoy that,And a Fisher Price ride along, battery
power jeep Rubicon. That's for thekids. And then there are things for
the whole family. Do you havea tree up now? You do have
(09:01):
a tree up? Good. That'sa sign that you're doing your job.
You're doing okay, because putting thetree up can be a hassle. But
you did that for your kids totry to give them some sense of Christmas
is still here, some sense ofnormalcy for you. We got we got
(09:22):
boring stuff like three megapacks of toiletpaper and paper towels, and baby wipes
and bubble bath soap and toothpaste. We got adult in kids toothpaste. We
got toothbrushes. We got a MinnesotaViking shirt. Are you a Vikings fan?
Very? Then you know we're gonnathrow in what we got a Justin
Jefferson jersey that we're gonna throw into. Yeah, we'll get one of those
for you. We're gonna save that, but we'll make sure you get that
(09:43):
one. Uh, and then we'regonna send you check this out the treasure
Island Tribal Council heard about you andyour family. We're gonna give you four
sweet tickets at the Treasure Island Suitefor the Wolves game coming up on January
twelfth. That's from Treasure Island.I've been in the Wolves sweep before.
It's pot it is very nice. It's nice. It's a good game to
be out. Yeah, help yourselfto all the food and drinks that you
(10:07):
want while you're there. Then justpractical things. A two hundred dollars Visa
gift card, a two hundred dollarsgrub Hub gift card, three hundred dollars
in gas cards from Holiday station stores. You got four of the three of
you around without Rachel. You've gota three hundred dollars cub Foods gift card
and a three hundred dollars gift cardto sea Quest in Roseville. So just
(10:28):
some things, some gift cards, some activities. And now my heart breaks
for you. I can't even imaginewhen, if, when my kids were
little, or at any age,to lose mom and your partner so suddenly,
so sadly, and then to takeon all of that responsibility. Thank
(10:50):
you guys so much. And nowyou're so welcome. In addition to all
the gifts and all the things, that there's a guy outside your door.
His name is Brandon from college musclemovers, and he'll bring in all this
stuff. But I hope that youalso feel the love. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, he's outside. He's outsideright now. Yeah, there's a
(11:11):
guy lurking out there. He's fine. You can let him in when you
get him. Let's do it.Let's open up the door right now.
Do you see him out there?Brandon or not? Brandon? His name
is Brandon, And now do yousee him out there? I'm going out
there. I know he usually parksa little down the street to stay discreet,
so he might not be right infront of your house. But there's
(11:39):
a guy out here. He ishe's a good guy. All right now,
I will let Brandon and you carrythe things in. But I was
I wanted to say, I hopethat in addition to all the things that
will make your Christmas financially and shoppinga little bit easier, and some of
the conveniences and home stuff, thatyou also feel the love and support and
