Speaker 2 (00:06):
We are here in the studio live with another Christmas Wish.
This time we are talking to Heidi. Good morning, Heidi,
good morning. Have you heard Christmas Wish on KATWB before?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
I sure have. Did you grow up listening to KATWB?
It did?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And you never thought that you'd be here doing a
Christmas wish?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (00:25):
No, until what motivated you? What inspired you to say, like, hey,
for this friend of mine, I don't you don't have
to tell her old story, but she must have come
to mind right away.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yes, yes, you know, there's so many of us that
need help and different things throughout the year, and my
friend just really touched me because I'm a mom, she's
a mom. We're both nurses, and you know, we care
for others, but oftentimes people don't.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Care for us. I think that's probably true.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Sometimes the caregivers need care and people don't think about
it that way. Thanks for coming in to do this.
Let's make the phone call right now. But first of all,
we have to check in with our buddy Brandon from
College Muscle Movers, who is standing by with all of
the stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Good morning, Brandon, Good morning. Are you bundled up? Brandon?
Are you in the hot the heated car right now
or the truck. I'm in the heater truck.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yes, yeah, good because it is like eight degrees outside
right now. Brandon, thanks for doing this. If you want
to get a hold of College Muscle Movers for your move,
Brandon and his crew will take care of you. And Brandon,
thanks for taking care of us for Christmas wish. We
appreciate you absolutely. Hey, please stand by Brandon's our safety
net in case we don't get somebody to answer the phone.

(01:38):
But we're gonna call Becca and hopefully she will answer
the phone right now. Sometimes it doesn't happen because a
phone call from a strange number at seven oh five
in the morning.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
And Heidi, you had a little plan to make sure
that Becca would be home this morning.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
What did you tell Becca?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yes, so I just said that I had ordered something
for the girls and I were super excited about it,
and so I wanted to bring it over to her,
but I was so busy.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
She might have her phone off. But that's okay because
we have a safety net and we do these lives.
So Brandon, you are now officially on duty, if you will.
Brandon approached the home of.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Becka of him having to go up to the door,
and we have our little alf.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Surprise. She's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Like a big, handsome burly man at my front door. Brandon,
are you there? He sounds he sounds handsome, Mark handsome, Brandon.
I heard he looks just like the guy in Hot Frosty.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
That's what I wanted to hear. That the long hair,
That's what I heard.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
And when Brandon's got his shirt off, he looks just
like the guy.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
In Hot he does. You're distracting him.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
He let me know, Brandon, when you walk up to
the front door and just you know, there's the dogs.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, I'm hearing the creating the proof that he's there.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Ya.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It's live radio, man, I'll tell you it's nothing like
live radio. Christmas Wish happening right now on kat WB.
We will get serious here in a minute, but you know,
we don't have to be serious about this all the time,
but we do want to help out this family. M
By the way, good morning, are you in words Christmas Wish?

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Hello, Hello, It's Dave Ryan over at kat WB. Becca.
How are you.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I'm doing okay. How are you.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. Say hi to your
friend Heidi Foley.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Hey back by Heidi.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I'm not at your house right now.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I was not expecting this at all.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
So we are on the radio right now at kati WB.
Have you heard of Katie Ledb's Christmas wish?

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Yes? I have.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Heidi rode in and told us about your situation and
your family, and she has a Christmas wish for your family,
so she's going to give with your permission, she would
like to read the letter that she wrote to us
for Christmas wish.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Is that okay?

Speaker 4 (04:12):
That would be wonderful, Thanks Heidi.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I am nominating my coworker Becca and her family for
a Christmas wish. Becca is a loving mom, wife, friend,
and nurse. I met Becca two years ago when she
started working as a home infusion nurse and I happened
to be her preceptor. I trained Becca for our current position.
After many car rides together, I heard many stories about

(04:38):
her beautiful four year old twin girls, Edith and Fiona.
Last year, after battling many ear infections, Edith went into
the hospital for a standard surgery to help fix these issues.
Following the surgery, Edith suffered a stroke. This led to
two weeks in the pediatric I See You Home with
IVY antibiotics and multiple follow up A pointtments. Due to this,

(05:01):
Beck and her husband Joe missed many days of work
in a coveted family vacation, juggling Edith's health and maintaining
Fiona's day to day.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Life without her sister.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
A few weeks ago, now five year old sister Fiona
was admitted to Children's hospital due to neurological concerns. There
was a concern for a brain tumor, and after many assessments,
Fiona was found to have a rare cyst on her brain.
Some of these symptoms would not have been noticed if
she did not have a nurse for a mom. Fiona
will undergo many more appointments to address issues with her

(05:35):
immune system, as well as following up with neurology. Despite
the stress and fear surrounding the health of her children,
Becca still takes time to care for her patients and
even ask about my Kiss's health whenever we talk. It
is about time Becca's family has cared for in return.
This holiday season.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
How is Edith and Fiona how are they doing today?
Are that their home with you? I would imagine.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yeah, Edith's doing pretty well season speech and occupational therapy,
and they're both in preschool. And Fiona's still having some
business issues. But we have some appointments coming up, so
hopefully we'll get some good news over the next few weeks.
But it's nothing major going on now, by the way.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, and these are little four year old twins by
the way, again, great baby names, Fiona and Edith. Yeah,
I just love that.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Thank you five.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Now, oh they're five now?

Speaker 4 (06:31):
That did start when they were four.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
This is one of the things that stood out to
me because my daughter Allison, has a four year old
and you just can't imagine, you know, if you've got
a healthy four year old, you just can't imagine like
sudden health struggles that started out with like an ear infection,
and little Edith had a stroke. I honestly didn't know
that little kids could have a stroke.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
I just can't know there, And I've been a nurse
for a long time. Yeah, that was not expected at all.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
And so and then you missed a family vacation and
there's been like fine answers and things like that. So
We just want to give you some blessings, if you will,
things that might make you feel more loved and supported.
And let's talk about that vacation. Where was the vacation that?
Where was the vacation planned?

Speaker 4 (07:13):
It was going to be the girl's first vacation. We
were going to Marco Island in Florida.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Oh wow, And that was the girl's first vacation. And
and you had to cancel it. You're like, well, obviously
we're not going to go.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah. It was two days before, two days after she
was admitted. Actually, so thankfully it just didn't happen when
we were down there.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Well, Mall of America heard about this, and they got
a little vacation for your family. That's a little kind
of a mini vacation, but it's super cool. We're going
to send you to a hotel right down by Mall
of America, probably attached to Mall of America. You get
a hotel stay. They wanted to give you some nick
you tickets. We've got four of those. Rainforest Cafe gift card,

such a great partner Mall of America. Love those guys,
those people for thirty two years. Get your holiday shopping
all done at one place, Mall of America. This is
value that I added this up, and I'm bad at math,

(08:11):
but I came up with about six hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
That's pretty nice.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Yeah, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
When you get a chance, you go down and stay
at the hotel by Mall of America. Also some other things.
When's the last time you and Joe? Joe is your husband? Yeah,
when's the last time you had a date night?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Oh my gosh, it's been numerous months. I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
To be honest, we're going to send you out on
a date night. What's that?

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Wait? Is that Joe in the background?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Hey Joe, Good morning Joe. We're going to send you
on a date night. We got one hundred dollars gift
card to Craft and Crew restaurants. We can use them
at Wells, Roadside, Dukes on seven Block, Stanley's or Pub nine.

(09:01):

now through December seventeenth, they're going to donate a portion
of sales through Christmas wish. And Joe, we heard you
need to get outside with like hammer and nails and
work on the deck.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Is this true? Oh yeah, we're thinking about it this summer.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, we got a thousand dollars Home Depot gift card
for you, but we expect results, Joe, so that is
also for you. And then there's a couple of things
for the girls. For Edith and Fiona, who are now
five years old. We heard that they love arts, Is

(09:41):
that right, mom?

Speaker 4 (09:43):
They do twenty four seven, they're always doing craft.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Well, we got everything.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
We had all kinds of art stuff, everything from like
you know, coloring books and art supplies and cool stuff
like that. And then we got them some cozy pajamas
and robes and some fun stuff for the girls too, and.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Just kind of look, you know, some things that are
just to let you.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Know that you're loved and supported for all that you
do and for all the challenges that you've faced, and
just kind of get you away for a little while
and go down to the Mall of America and just
you know, feel appreciated and get some time away.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Okay, thank you so much, Merry christ
