Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, good morning, It's Monday. It'll be had a good weekend.
It was beautiful all weekend, nary a rain storm, didn't
see any rain, no tornadoes, no gusts, no monset, just
beautiful and not quite as hot as it was the
fourth of July weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
We used to be hot today and smile though, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Night, are you seriously? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Oh, it's gonna be a layout on the Sunday and
not going a walk day for me?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Okay, God, I don't want to suffocate. I gotcha. On
Monday mornings, we usually you know, you come into work
and like, what'd you do this weekend? Or what'd you
do this weekend? We always put pictures of what we
did over the weekend up on Instagram, Dave Ryan Show
on Instagram, or on Dave ryanshow dot com. Each of
us has our own weekend in five pictures, and we
just have to pick our favorite picture from the weekend.
(00:44):
I'll go first. So we went camping. We went down
to the Lovely Jordan, Minnesota, Koa campground with the RV
and our dog Bernie and I took along by ukulele
and I was sitting there on Saturday night kind of
by the fire, Bernie's relaxing in the background, and I
was playing by ukulele, and it was just like a
great moment. You look good. You look Xen. Do it
look Xen? You look like you got everything you need
in like you got tole. It was just it was
(01:10):
just great. It was like one of those moments of
the It's like that if what can you do? You know,
what is your dream moment to sit on a beach
somewhere with a cocktail in your hand, in your favorite book.
This was just it for me, like camping. It's beautiful out,
no bugs, dog in the background and playing the ukulele.
So that is my favorite weekend from five weekend in five.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
It looks so cute. So excited to meet him on
third Thursday.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, in the park. We moved the location, by the way.
We're gonna do it at what's the name of it again,
Bunker Hills Barna Hills Dog Park. Ye, yes, we love
coon rapids. We get coon rapids a hard time, we
have for years, but we love it up there. So
my mom's coming.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I'm excited because she wouldn't have if it was in
the old place.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
But we're gonna do another rabbit now. And the reason
we moved it is because it turned out there was
a fee to go to the other dog park. It's like,
we're not going to make it pay a fee. Come
on out, it's for Jenny. Tell me about your favorite
photo and the story behind it in case I can't
look at it.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
I think the last photo of my weekend and five photos.
Because I got the unicycle out yesterday for the first
time this summer, I was like, I'm gonna hop back
on this, see if I remember anything. I taught myself
last summer, and it was a little shaky at first.
It fell off after just getting a couple of strides in,
but then I got some distance. I just need to learn,
Like I still use my garbage can to get myself
(02:27):
up on it. I can just like level and then
I kind of push off on it and I go.
And I really want to learn how the heck you
do it without help from something else, and I don't
know if I'll be able to. So, yeah, there's a
picture of me with the unicycle.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
It's like a running it's like a running thing. I've
seen people get on them, and I do not know how.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
I don't know if I'll get there, but that that's
my next goal with the unicycle.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I love that. Good for you, Bailey.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
My favorite picture from the weekend is me and my friends.
We were at Pandafest on Saturday and it was outside
at the Mall of America in one of their parking lots,
and it was just like a ton of different friend
like Asian food vendors, and there was like K pop
music and like K pop dancing groups and a lot
of like K poppy kind of stuff there too, and
it was it was fun because I got to hang
(03:10):
out with my friends. It was super expensive and there
was like one tent for shade.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
But other than that, I had a good time with
my friends. Yeah exactly, That's how it felt like. But
it was still a fun time.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Panafest handunt my favorite picture.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
I met up with some friends and are my foster
dog Eva and then one of their dogs because she
just got her back from a trip in Colorado. We
went to Backstory to get coffee and then we walked
around the block and we saw these adults across the street.
They had a lemonade stand and we were like, oh,
this is kind of weird. They're just a bunch of
adults having a lemonade stand. But then one of the
guys chased us with his kid, and the kid asked
us and we'd be like, okay, you're cute, we'll come
(03:46):
get limonade.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
So it was just a nice time. How much to
do adults charge for lemonade?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I think they were purely donations, so like they were
just like, oh, if you like to leave like a little.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Tip or something, and they gave us some good limonade,
you'll leave a tip. Yes, we did give him a dollar.
You never heard of an adult lemonade stand before? Or
that is kind of crazy. Honestly, check out the weekend
in five photos. We had one we turned lemons into lemonade.
So we went to the book fair over at the
Education Building the State Fair. Alison and I were so excited.
(04:14):
It was her idea and we don't get to do
as much together like we used to because she's pregnant
and she's got two girls and she's busy. So we
drove all the way over to the book fair. We parked,
were like, man, there's a lot of people here. We
walk up and the line literally was probably about a
quarter mile long. We walked to the end of the
line and I'm like, this is ridiculous, and she's like,
(04:35):
I was like, do you want to wait and see
whether the line moves quickly? She's like, Dad, I can
barely stand up. I'm eight months pregnant now. So we left.
I said, do you know what I'm gonna do. I'm going
to take you to South Dale to that Bubble Tea
place and get you a bubble tea. So we got
Bubble Tea's and that's in my photos too, So it
was just the book fair was really Bailey and I
were going to be like, you know, both go and
(04:56):
some other people canna go too.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Her guys ball, we both talked about a content on
the show.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
That's what I mean. That's the power of radio is like,
I don't think that maybe one third of those people
would have shown up had they not heard about it
on KTWB. That's what I'm telling myself. And it's like, yeah,
that's why you need to advertise your business on the radio.
Nobody's coming in. It's because nobody knows about it. Yeah,
so get a hold of me, send me an email,
and I will hook you up with one of our
salespeople to get your advertising on KTWB. I mean, I'm
(05:22):
glad that it went.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
It like sold out so well, and like there were
so many people there. It was just a bummer because
we wanted to be the people that were there, and
we weren't the people that were there. But I mean,
I think they already said, like on their Instagram that
they've outgrown that building, so I think they're going to
expand next year.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
They got to have it like a big open farmers
Field or something for unlimited room because it was ridiculous.
And I talked to a woman who came out with
her granddaughter and I'm like, so, how was it just
randomly walked over sat how was it? She's like, it
was hot, it was crowded. There was a lot of
smutty books that I didn't want my granddaughter to see them, Like, oh,
well I'm going to go in then, well, how old
was her granddaughter? Ten twelve?
Speaker 3 (05:58):
It literally says for grown up Scholastic book for grow I.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Guess that's a good point. Yeah, yes, I guess you
didn't know that meant stuff munny books. So anyway, I
hope you had a great weekend. Back to the grind,
we are here to hold your hand through the whole thing.
Dave's Dirt's coming up. First thing we're gonna talk about
is kind of a fun story. The hottest men from
the nineteen fifties to today. Oh boy. So we're talking
about everybody from Robert Redford to George Clooney, Denzel Washington,
(06:26):
Henry Cavill, Cavele Cavele, Cavell, Cavel. So we're gonna cover
all of them. The hottest men, fifty hottest men of
all time. See if your favorites on the list. Coming up,
we are doing Barking the Park coming up on Thursday,
and we're very excited about that. It's just kind of
a free, get your dog together kind of a thing
(06:47):
up in Coon Rapids of Bunker Hill's got Dog Park
from five thirty until six thirty. I'm bringing out Bernie
Vonte is gonna bring little Ava Long and foster puppy.
Jenny's gonna bring some dog.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I got to check with the owners, but yes, I
do have a dog and she is the best, but
she's also kind of a little baitch sometimes they can
do that.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, make sure.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
She's gonna be good, because I'm not trying to be
concerned about her at the dog park while we're hanging out,
there's you a.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Question, Okay, So as we do this, and by the way,
Bailey's bringing a special guest to her mother.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
My mom my favorite dog.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
So we're at the Koa campground. And what time would
you think that the first dog barking was heard on
Saturday and Sunday morning. Second, the sun got.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Starts getting sunny. So it's like fully sunny, like six.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Like six o'clock, and it's like, shut your dog up.
So then the next thing is, so, you know, you're
pretty close to each other. You're maybe five or so
yards from the next campsite, and people are courteous and whatever.
So at six fifteen on Sunday morning yesterday, the guy
next door tries to start a Diesel pickup truck. Dan Yeah,
(08:06):
yaht go.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Bang gog GoGG gotga gotga, gogga goga gotga go got
gotta goga got gogga gogga gogga goga.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Got He's leaving it idle. And remember it's a Diesel truck. Yeah,
put in your gas powered truck. It's not very loud.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Diesel's loud.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Goga gotga gotga gotga gott gott and literally five ft
from my head. And then he drives away and I'm like, oh,
thank god, he's leaving. No, he was leaving to turn
around so he could load his camper topper onto the truck.
So it comes back up.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
Goga gotga goga, goga, gotga, gotga gotga gotga goga.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Then there's the noise of him and his buddy talking
as they load the camper topper onto the truck. Why
are they leaving so early?
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Oh? To that?
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Oh okay, sorry, I'll get to that. So Susan and
I are laying there practically laughing, like who does this?
Does he not realize his diesel truck is really loud
and it's six point fifteen now, about six thirty in
the morning. He so he starts it up again. Ag
gag gag gog gog got get.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Gag at gaga gag a gagg a gag a gag
a gag a gag a gag gag a gag a
gag a gega.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Push. I finally, I said, Susan, I got to see
what this guy looks like. So I get up and
I open up the window and he's out there he's
talking to somebody on the phone. And I opened up
the window and I said, hey, neighbor, I said, how
long are you going to keep this up? I said,
you realize you're five yards away from us. We're trying
to sleep. Oh, I'm real sorry, sir. And he kind
(09:45):
of looked like, who's the comedian with the hair but
he's bald on top, Stephen Wright. So think of Steven
Wright if you look him up, Stephen Wright. He looked
like a twenty five year old Stephen Right, he's twenty five.
He is young. Yeah, oh and so uh kind of
a funny looking dude. But he was very He's like,
I'm really sorry, sir. He said, we're just trying to
get his early start to get to Texas in a
Texas license plate. Oh and the most of the most
(10:09):
of the noise should be over by now. And I'm like, okay, well,
you know you've got to consider it's six thirty in
the morning. Yeah, and you're keeping all these people awake.
I'm real sorry, sir. And then sure enough he left
shortly after okay, and then get out. But Susan and
I were like, how can you be so unaware of
what you're doing. People are like that all the time.
But do you think so drives me nuts?
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Yeah, they're just clueless to do anything because the world
revolves around them.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
And that's a lot of people. I would just never
It's kind of like I would if I go out
to walk the dog, I talk quietly.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah, at the campground, I would sometimes every morning, well
most mornings, I'll take out the trash and like we
do it down a trash shoot. But sometimes I just
let the door slam behind me, not thinking that it's
five thirty in the morning now that people are sleeping. Yeah,
it's just my instinct. Really boom. It's not intentional. This
guy seems like it was a little intentional.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
That was a lot. I don't think he was intentional.
I think he was just kind of a dumb dumb yeah,
and I'm like, sir. He did call me sir, so
he did have that going for him. Let's do Dave's
Dirt on Katie of the B. Give us five minutes
and we'll give you the dirt. Dave's Dirt on Katie
w B. So they came up a list of the
(11:19):
fifty hottest men in history, like popular you know show
busy kind of a guy's this is the news that matters.
From way back in the day, Elvis James, Dean, Marlon Brando,
Paul Newman, and Robert Redford.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Those are like my top five hottest dudes ever.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Okay period From the nineties, Brad Pitt, Denzel, George Clooney,
Hayden Christiansen, Heath Ledger, Keanu Reeves, Lenny Kravitz, Leonardo DiCaprio,
Matthew McConaughey, and Tupac. From the modern era, There's a bunch,
and I won't cover them all. Zane Idris Elba, Henry Cavill,
Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Channing, Tatum, bad Bunny, Jake Gillenhall,
(11:57):
Michael B. Jordan, and Robert Pattinson. And Gods of course
is on the list too. So I want to let
you know who's hot from back in the day and today.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
So I saw that the Backstreet Boys started their residency
at the Sphere this past weekend. I had some friends
I went to it that I know, and I started
researching tickets because I genuinely want to go cool. It
looks so cool, and the reviews are in and everyone's
raving about it. They cover everything from their nineteen ninety
nine album Millennium. They do want it that way, absolutely absolutely,
(12:31):
and they kick it off with like, obviously a gigantic
screen because if you don't know, the Sphere is basically
what would you.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Call this giant imax? But yeah, but ix on crack, Yeah, truly.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
But they kick it off with this big screen creating
scenes from outer space, and then they jump into larger
than life because I'm pretty sure that's what their music
video was for that right, it was like an outer
space like spaceship thing for larger than life.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
It could be bad, okay.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Anyway, So yeah, of course they performed I want it
that way. They've got about twenty shows that they're going
to be performing this summer. It's I looked at tickets
and it's weird because if you want the full Steer experience,
you do want to actually be in like higher seats,
because the floor seats that are right by the stage
were actually cheaper than almost any of the other seats.
So I asked a friend yesterday. I was like, you
(13:18):
went to see a show at the Sphere recently, and
they were like, if you want to see the Backstreet
Boys and just see them. Then yeah, the floor seats
are worth it. But if you want the steer experience,
you have to have the fire seat.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
That may totally make sense.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Oh yeah, I'm kind of contemplating going out to Vegas
for a weekend.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Okay, money bags. Wow, I just got back from Iceland.
I want to jet up. Are you going to start
paying your what fair share of taxes?
Speaker 2 (13:44):
I don't know. It feels like I do because I
only have five dollars left after taxing.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Kelly Clarkson addressed the last minute Vegas residency cancelation that
she had last week, and she returned to the stage
on Friday.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I'm sorry last weekend's shows. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
You can't help our bodies sometimes, you know, and that happens.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
But thank y'all so much for showing up. We're so excited.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
She also said she had stressed vocal chords from weeks
of rehearsals, which, like, I get it could be vocal chords,
it could be mental health, it could be whatever. But
having that news come out like ninety minutes before, it's
just I don't know.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
I feel like, if you have something with your vocal chords,
you would know ours and advance, you would think. So
that's that dirt brought to you by sixty one two
Injured Heimer and Lammer's Injury Log. Give me a sing
along nomination, Give me a song to play to sing
along with doing that next, send me a text with
your suggestion at KATIEWB what I'm Katie w B. What
song are we gonna go with for this sing along
song of the day? Would we figure?
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Someone recommended a little Justin Bieber baby, and I feel
like that's a good choice considering he just dropped his
album on Friday.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
He was like the big streaming thing on the Spotify's
this weekend. So going way back sing along song Justin
Bieber on Katie WB god Morning Show sing Along song
of the morning. Back a little Justin Bieber pre pewbescent,
little thirteen year old ball haircut Justin Bieber. Now he's
(15:10):
turned into sketchy looking, tattooed, dozy eyed and it's pretty
Justin Bieber.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Is it true that he called Selena Gomez like thirty
times on his wedding day? What I Alyssa told me
that Selena Gomes said that in a song somewhere I'd
never heard of it until now it makes sense though
it tracks Selenak is one that got away for sure.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Wow. Anybody knows any truth to that? Please text I
want to know if that's true. I do know a
story of like I went to a wedding and the
groom I didn't see it happened, but the groom supposedly
went out to his truck or his ex's truck. His
ex girlfriend showed up in her truck, and he went
out and hooked up with her in her truck on
his wedding day. Boo, And I said, it tracks. It's
(15:53):
kind of like, yep, know this guy kind of tracks.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Here's an idea, maybe don't get married if you're not
over your Yeah. I don't know, but.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
That's a good question because I think sometimes in your
life there's always gonna be the one that got away.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
But if there's the one that got away to the
point that you're thinking about them on your wedding day,
that's the difference between like the person like it could
have been.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
I'll bet it happens more than we want to admit.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
It's so wild because me, at least, I'm thinking obviously
emotionally but also financially if I know I'm not over
my ex, I'm not about to spend all this money
and time putting toward a wedding just to ruin it
all and sleep with them in two seconds.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
That's a that's a topic for another day, because I
think some people think that things will be better once
I get married. I will forget about them once I
get married. Same thing like, oh, we're not we're having
trouble as a couple. Let's go ahead and have a baby.
That will make it better. And then you have a
baby and it's like, oh, then you realize then you're
gonna fight about Now You're going to fight about the baby.
So life is complicated. We are here to make a
(16:51):
smile and just kind of like ease up on things
a little bit gets you through your Monday morning with
things like this one on one point three KDWB. It's
a very happy day. It is National mac and Cheese Day.
So I'm gonna give you a little facts about mac
(17:13):
and cheese, and I want you to picture your favorite
mac and cheese in front of you right now. Does
it is it craft mac and cheese? Is it got
the liquid cheese or the powdery cheese? Is it got
bacon bits in there? Is it baked mac and cheese,
so it's crispy on the top? Is there lobster in
your mac and cheese? So mac and cheese day? We
(17:34):
eat about ten billion pounds just in America and mac
and cheese every year. That's about thirty pounds per person. God,
thirty pounds of mac and cheese per person. I don't
think I do, but maybe I think maybe kids do.
Kids love mac and cheese. US may top the is
the mac consuming country in the world. Here are some
(17:55):
other fun facts about mac and cheese. President Thomas Jefferson
is created with making it popular in the US. It
is said that after he tasted it in Europe, he
brought the idea back to America and even served it
as a state dinner. Well, here's another variety of mac
and cheese, sliced up little hot dogs that are in there.
Oh that was my favorite. Really, yeah, that was my
(18:15):
favorite when I was a kid. Oh, mom made mac
and cheese and hot dogs and hot dogs. Wow. Kraft
introduced box mac and cheese during the Great Depression. It
was cheap, it was easy to make, and it became
a staple during World War Two because there was not
a lot of dairy and meat where it was ration.
So today they sell one boxes of that one million
(18:37):
boxes of that stuff every single day, one million boxes
of mac and cheese every single day.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
I mean, I like macaroni, but like, Kraft is not
the best kind.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Say it again and put the people to back, Bailey.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
I like macaroni and cheese, but Kraft is not the
best kind.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Velvita baby, Like yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Velveta like the kinds that's like a shell, and then
the cheese sauce is like thick that kind.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
No, I don't disagree, But the thing is with the
Kraft mac and cheese. It's the powdered cheese and the
milk and like a spoonful of butter. It's easy. It's easy,
and it's cheap. Yeah, it's definitely. Everybody knows it's not
the best. Let me make you some baked mac and cheese.
I did a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
It's somewhere in my weekend and five picks, and it's
my step mom's recipe. Who knows how to throw down
some authentic soul fho baked mac and cheese?
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Baby?
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Is that what the white people aren't allowed to bring
to something as a mac and cheese potato salad. Potato salad, okay,
because you're range one. Because I was like, I feel
like I've made a pretty good mac and cheese before
Goodles though, that's my go Goodles Goodles because it's like
a high protein mac and cheese. It's a little bit
of a healthier version of your Kraft mac and cheese. Oh,
I've never hurdles all day. Mike who listens to the show,
(19:46):
literally got me Goodles for my birthday because I love them.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I love that. And finally, one more fact about mac
and cheese. NASA has included mac and cheese as part
of its space food menu for astronauts at the International
Space Station and on others missions because everybody loves mac
and cheese. Facts and that is, you can't make this
stuff up on KDWB things that are going on. We
(20:10):
just heard that what is it, Crystal, you can't brush
your teeth with the water. I don't want to cause alarm,
but there's like a problem in Crystal and.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Crystal, Golden Valley and New Hope. There is a tap
water advisory right now. It says that you cannot use
any water unless you boil it for at least a minute. First, like,
not even to brush your teeth, because there was a
malfunctioning in valve in the Golden Valley water tower over
the weekend. So like, I know someone whose work is
in Golden Valley and they are literally working from home
(20:38):
today because they were like, don't come in.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Yeah, oh that's nice.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
If you guys want to list it works in Golden Valley,
they said, nope, bring assy or well.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
She works in media, so makes sense. We're on the
line at all times.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
How long is this going to go on? Do they say?
Speaker 2 (20:51):
At least? I think the advisory went into effect yesterday
morning ish and it said at least for twenty four hours.
They're out there, you know, hammering at the water tower.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
I don't know what they do. Okay, fix it somebody
up there at the top of the ranch.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
No update yet about one that'll be a fix. But yeah,
just be careful. I would totally forget and start brushing
my teeth. I would not even remotely. I'd be like, ah,
with the Osby in my favor, I'm not boiling water
to brush my teeth.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
You're gonna die a cryptos I don't you already got
care problems. Yeah, I do have both problems.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
I care about the environment, so I don't have your
you know, your bottled water sitting around, so I'd be screwed.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
I I'd have to use the water.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I just mixed some MEO in with it and an
orange vanilla flavor.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
