Speaker 1 (00:00):
I gonna list some things.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
You give yourself one point for everyone that you've never done. Okay,
and this will probably be mostly vaunt. The older you are,
the more of these you've done. For example, me, I
think I've done every single one of them. Okay, I'm
gonna list these things. You give yourself a point, little
hash mark or count in your head for everyone that
you've never never done. Used a rotary phone Okay?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Can I do a clarification?

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Is it like used on like a regular basis, or
have like play with it?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I would say used one as a practical device, ok yes, okay,
use a rotary phone, used a floppy disc okay, use
the typewriter and not play with one in an antique shop,
but actually did like, you know, work for work or
school on a typewriter, well damn. Taken photos with a
film camera okay, And I guess that would count if

(00:55):
you did like something retro like, oh look at.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Me, I went down to the store and I got
a film camera. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Listen to music on a CD if you've never done it,
give yourself a point. Listen to music on a cassette tape. Okay,
give yourself a point if you've never done it. Listen
to music on a Wakman, listen to music on a
vinyl record VT.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Have you done any of these yet?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, I've done. I did the CD, the tape in
the vinyl. Okay, listen to music on a boombox outside.
I don't know why it says outside.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
You can have one inside, Like I have a boombox,
but it's inside, and never once took it outside because
you can't plug it in out there.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Let's get batteries. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
I used to take mine to school when I was
a senior in high school, and I thought I was
so cool because I would play aerosmith in the lunch room. Oh,
I was so cool.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
You carry it on your shoulders.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, nobody really carried it on their shoulder. That's like
a stereotype with.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
An afro and a chain.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
No, No, Watch a video from a VHS tape. Give
yourself a point if you've never done it, sent or
received effects. Vaant never did effects. Recorded music from Radio
two cassette. So you'd listen to KATWB and you'd be
listening to Christina Aguilera and the DJ would be like, okay,
here's Christina gave the talk over the all over the

(02:14):
front of the song.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
R did that and I recorded Billy Joel. We didn't
start the fire so I could try to learn all
the lyrics that it did.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
You still know them?

Speaker 5 (02:21):
I mean I wouldn't know my word by word, but yeah,
I do know most.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
About another one rented a video from Blockbuster. Give yourself
a point if you've never done it. I'm sure vont
you've never done it. Well, my mom has, but I've
been in a Blockbuster. Okay, next one, We're almost done here. Uh,
access the access the internet by dial up, used a

(02:46):
phone book. Okay, they're still around. I think in rural
communities they might still have.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
The phone books. One time, did you really really good money?

Speaker 7 (02:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Sent a postcard.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I go and gift shops and I look at the
postcard rack and nobody buy them anymore postcards. I think
they're delightful, but I don't know where to buy the
stamps for them.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Okay, next one, the post anymore.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Now, let's see.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Think if you're in Wisconsin Del's and you want to
send Bailey a postcard that says, look, I am at
the Kalahari. You want to buy it, but you don't
have a stamp, and they don't sell them at the
front desk at the gift shop.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Not usually.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
No, And I weirdly carry stamps in my wallet.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, gladys I know do you have a wallet? Okay? Okay?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Next one used a paper map to get anywhere, used
to carry a ram McNally atlas in the car, and
you used to have a Miniapolis Paul map in my
car too.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Map quest doesn't count. So I'm giving myself.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Owned the dictionary. If you own the dictionary, give yourself
if you've never okay, actually, if you've ever never done this,
give yourself a point. If you've owned an encyclopedia, if
you've never done it, give yourself a point. And you've
ever paid with a paper check? Never, If you've never
done it, give yourself a point. Oh okay, okay, Vaughan,
how many points do you have? Eleven points you've done? No,

(04:03):
I've never done a lot of those. I've never done
eleven of them. Okay, but that's still quite a lot. Yeah,
you've done quite a few, Bailey, I have eight. Wow,
what have you never done?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
I've never faxed anything. I know facts exists, but I've
never done it. Phone Book I've done phone new phone books. Oh,
I've never used a rotary phone or a typewriter on
a regular basis.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
That was just for fundzies.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Have you recorded music from the radio to a cassette
you have? Yes, Okay, so that surprises me a little bit, Jenny, I.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
Only had two, and it was just the rotary phone
and using a typewriter.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
I used to play on my grandma's typewriter, but I
never used to.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, you've done all the other ones. I have a
paper map.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, rouctionary boom box outside.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
Yeah, we used to like swing on our swing set
and listen to the boombox outside.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Oh, my boom box only like plugged in. We didn't
have one of them portable boom boxes.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
They had d cell batteries in. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I'd take it on the school by us and take
it to Air Academy High School. And I thought I
was badass. It's like day Dave put on Aerosmith. Yeah, okay, yeah,
Dave put on Aerosmith. I thought it was so cool.
How did you do on that? I thought it might
kind of be kind of fun. It is Friday, It's Katie.
WB is supposed to be nice this weekend very very
summer like this weekend and Sonny through the weekend as well,

(05:20):
and we've got War of the Roses coming up in
a second.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
If you want to hear War of the Roses, this was.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
A fun It's a different one because it's way more
fun than War of the Roses usually, is it? Even
I don't want to give away too much, but it's
fun most of the way through. And we'll do that
coming up next on katiewbur let's hear a sing along song?
It's Friday. What song you want to sing along to
the radio with? It's a regular daily feature in the

(05:47):
six o'clock hour on the day Ryan Show. Tell me
a song that you want to sing along with? Like,
isn't it ironic?

Speaker 7 (05:52):
Black?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Resitay?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
On your wedding day?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Well to hear it? What may that's the song you
want to hear. Maybe you want to hear a Britney song.
Maybe you want to hear an in sync song. Send
me a text at Katie WB one and we will
play it for you. In amendment on the sing along
song of the n so bride to be had a
cute idea kind of sentimental She wanted to get married
in the backyard at the house where she grew up,
where she used to play and in the backyard, and

(06:18):
we're very sentimental about the house we grew up in.
One big problem, her family no longer owns the house.
So she showed up at the current homeowner's door, told
her story and said, can I do the wedding in
the backyard and I will cover all the costs of course,
And the homeowner said no, I mean, that's kind of
a d move. It's like, yeah, you know what, let

(06:40):
let her have her wedding in your backyard. She's paying
for everything.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I'm the heck.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
So then the homeowner went on Reddit semi the jerk
part and said the bride came up, became pretty irate,
tried to argue with me, then started crying. It just
all seemed sort of over the top to me personally.
I asked her to leave, and she did and I
never heard from or again. But today my neighbor, who
has always been very nice, called me a nasty person

(07:05):
and that he heard from the family that I wasn't
going to let the woman marry in my yard. Am
I the jerk? Well, it seems like an odd request.
I'm a bit overwhelmed that I might earn a bad
reputation in my neighborhood. Who do you think I think
that he was a jerk? I mean, seriously, it's probably
going to be minimally interfering with you in your yard, Bradley.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
So no, I mean, I get the sentiment, but it
is I think it'd be a little bit weird if
somebody asked me that and I owned a home. But
if you're paying for it, I think I'd be like, eh.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
Money, So like, are they paying for it to happen
or are they also going to give the homeowner a
little bit of money because they're allowing you to use
their home.

Speaker 7 (07:41):
That's where I think she needs to do. Give them
a little bit of money for my inconvenience, because now
you're just kind of putting me out of my house
for however long the wedding takes.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (07:48):
I think there should have been a little compensation for
that homeowner at that point.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
I don't know, I don't I.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Would do it. I would absolutely do it.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
If somebody came to my house because my house was
owned by one other family before we bought it and
they said, you know, I grew up here. We'd really
I'd be like, Okay, that's a little weird and a
little bit inconvenient, but I get it, and I'd be like, yeah,
go ahead, if it's special to you, go ahead, right.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Do we know? I don't know.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
There's a lot of layers to this, because what if
she shows up and she's like chain smoking a sig
and she's.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Like, Hi, cannot come do my what in here? You know,
like that person probably judged her our on many different.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Lines maybe or maybe they're just the jerk and that
is you can't make this up.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Up on Katie right group chat right now along, Okay,
we have I don't think we have Rebecca Black Friday
and the Systems.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Sorry, I played off of YouTube can easily played on YouTube,
but then.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
We have to listen to the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
That would be my.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Be my phone though I would do I would do
Friday by Rebecca Black.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
I think you should pull it up all right now,
get through the ads and then.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Joy what it is.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
Oh, I'm shocked.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
By wow, I guess the way I found it.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
You haven't heard this song all the way through since
nineteen ninety one, Purpose.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
On Purpose Born yet at that point.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Here is Friday Refecca Black that week the worst best
song ever heard?

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Some of them.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Looking at text messages at Katie WB one, it is
split down the middle whether people love that song and
are happy that they heard it, or people are like.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
I just turned my radio off. I get it. Let's
do the dirt.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
What's trending?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Let's find out it's Dave start on Katie w B.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Bet she what's going on? Here?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Is Taylor Swift in the dirt today? Well, of course
she is. She's gonna be on the Tonight Show the
Monday after she releases the Life of a Showgirl. Jimmy
fallentised at the Instagram. The October sixth episode video features
Jimmy gambling at a roulette wheel and placing bets on
the numbers ten, six and twenty five, the date of
her appearance. By the way, if the NFL agrees to

(10:01):
her demands to perform at the halftime show, the Night
Show with Jimmy Fallon would be the perfect place to
make the announcement because NBC broadcasts both of those, so
we will see what happened.

Speaker 7 (10:12):
Well.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Continuing on with the Taylor Swift stuff ed sheer and
in Taylor Swift are known to be really good friends. However,
Ed claimed he hadn't learned about Taylor's engagement until he
saw it on Instagram, like we all did. But Andy
Cohen recently asked him if he's heard her new album,
The Life of a show Girl, and Ed said he
has not.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
He is being forced to wait, like the rest of
us are.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
What in sink Jenny? You like them?

Speaker 5 (10:36):
I love them fabulous.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Well, apparently they were going to have a reunion tour,
but it's been paused because of Justin Timberlake's lyme disease.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Honestly, this is the first time I've heard of a
reunion tour.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Fancy I haven't.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
I feel like they're just this is again another breadcrumb.
I'm not thrilled about that. But apparently they had a
lot of things planned to celebrate their thirtieth anniversary, but
Justin Timberlake's health has put those plans on an indefinite hole.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
That is really a shame.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I don't know much about lyme disease, but it came
up on the show a month or so ago, and
it can be very debilitating. Yeah, it's not just like,
oh I got a fever, and I feel woozy. It
can be like life altering and it can go on
for the rest of your life.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
From what I understand, and I'm sure that's the case.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
I just mean I wish I would have known about
this reunion tour so I could have been more upset.

Speaker 7 (11:23):
This new means a Friday, We're gonna do new Doja
cat at the top of every hour, starting in a
couple of minutes. But here's a new song from five
Seconds of Summer, which I don't know they were still
making music. It's called not Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
I got a little news for you.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
So the lead singer Luke Hemmings from five Seconds to
Summer been losing his hair for a long time. Oh no,
been losing his hair for a long time. In the
new video, he's wearing a very thick red wig Gifts
And it's an ironic wig because you're supposed to almost
be able to tell it's a wig, but rock stars
can't go bald. Harry Styles also, where in a wig

(12:00):
you don't know it?

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Shut up?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
He is not a true story. The song was giving
one Republic Yeah a little bit. I love five Seconds
of Summer. They came to jingle Ball one time and
they were they killed it.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Yeah, yeah, I would see them. I feel like they
would to be a fun show.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
They also did some really good marketing for this new
music because they posted on their Instagram the other day
five Sauce are breaking up click here for proof. And
then you go through and it's like this post was
not approved by management.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
I keep going, keep.

Speaker 6 (12:28):
Going, and then it's like, says the name the new
songs cute, that's cute.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
That is funny. That's going to do it.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
For the dirt short version on kd w B, I
will say somebody wrote in and spoiled the ending of
the show The Girlfriend for me. So I got two
episodes left go and somebody wrote in asking a question
about the finale.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Thanks a lot.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Yeah, so there goes Oh my god, somebody spoiled the
end of Ozark for me too. They're like, oh did dude,
what did you think about so and so? And And
I'm like, really, just don't if you're tempted to write
in or ask your friend a question about the end
of a movie or just.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Don't, don't. Don't. The show was what not even a
month old? Or what is it new? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (13:11):
Right, it's I think we need to put a cat
like a month before we can start talking about endings
of I would.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Say even longer than that, Yeah, because some people don't.
It's like, you know, if you haven't watched adolescents. Adolescens right,
I'm gonna spoil that because people still watch those. Anyway,
We'll be right back on k D Double Ub. We've
got brand new Doja cat. You'll love this coming up
in a second. I will spoiler alert that I think
you're gonna like this song, but that's all up to you.

(13:38):
And then Carson had a dilemma, what would you have done?
That's my son Curson, and we'll talk about that in
a second.
