Speaker 1 (00:00):
Three two one Friday. All right, it's Friday. All of
a sudden, here it is. It is Katie WGB. The
weekend is almost here. Oh my gird. It is Dave, Me, Jenny,
Bailey and Vaught. We were just having a discussion. Bailey
(00:22):
listened to like most of the Taylor Swift podcast last night.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
We have about twenty minutes left. It's like two over
two hours a right, it's a little over two hours. Yeah,
she thought, don't like it.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Oh, okay, And I realized I'll probably be in the
minority of this. But I thought both Jason and Travis
Kelce are horrendous interviewers really, because Taylor Swift will start
talking and she is very like, she very vociferous. She
says a lot. Okay, She's talking and talking and talking
(00:57):
and talking, and they just constantly interrupt her, constantly, but
not to say anything of worth.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
They'll just be like, oh yeah, yeah, that's it's wild.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Oh yeah, and they'll just say that, and she'll just
keep going and going and going. But not only that,
and I mean, I'm gonna get hate. But even Taylor
Swift wasn't good at answering questions. She wasn't good at
having conversation. She would just start talking, continue talking, but
never really say anything.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
So both to two hours.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
So both Taylor and Travis, and this is again in
my humble opinion, they would use very like limited vocabulary
to describe one another, to describe football, to describe the family,
to describe the eras tour whatever. So imagine like Travis Kelcey,
if he's Jason Kelcey kind of asks him a question
about Ara's tour, He'll go, Oh, it's so wonderful. She
(01:50):
is just so great and she is an athlete and
she just goes walk running down the stage and oh,
it's iconic.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
She's an icon And I'm like, say something, say anything.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
And then if if uh keb Taylor is asked about
like the family, the Kelsey family, she'll go like, Oh,
they are just so special, They're so special and it's
just we have such a good time and it's just nothing.
They don't say anything about anything. And Taylor Swift uses
the word so as in to describe something. She'll be like,
(02:24):
it's so great, it's so special, it's so wild. And
I'll be like, Okay, why is it wild? Why is
he special? Why was this moment amazing, and she'll be like,
so amazing.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Why I wonder if it's because, well, I wonder two things, right,
because everybody said that they thought the Kelsey brothers did
a phenomenal job, right, but that might be swifties like
the majority. But also because it's essentially a family interview
because you know, Taylor and Travis are together, Jason and
her brother, sister in law, whatever, I could understand why
it's hard to do an interview or like you realize
(02:57):
there's not enough death because you're just having a conversation with.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Somebody's to do. If it's a guest on the.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Show, it definitely felt like a family interview, like everyone's
sitting on a lawnchair in the backyard.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Very exciting. You remember the do you remember the arras
to her?
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Oh that was so fun. It was so fun. Yeah,
it was so wild. What a special time. And I'm
just like, use any real example, have any like real
depth of emotion of like describing something.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
This is interesting because this is I have not listened
to it. Jenny loved it.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
I mean half of it, but I thought it was
great because I I guess I didn't analyze it quite
the way that Bailey did, but I learned.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
A lot about Taylor Swift in it.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
I don't know that I was necessarily paying attention to
her saying so as much as I was paying attention
to the context that she was talking about her masters.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
But the masters when she talks about her music, that's
when she goes in depth.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
And that's like when she's like really like.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Lazy, because it's then authentic. Yeah, now that makes me
wonder how authentic everything else is.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, I think she's not talking about her music. She's
being super shallow in what she's talking about. Not that
she is shallow, it's just the conversation is pretty shallow
unless she's talking about sourdough bread, which she then talks about.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
I don't for like twenty five minutes she talks about
soward ol.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
I wonder if they're trying to not reveal too much
about their relationship, like, oh God, I mean like they
don't want to get too much into their relationship.
Speaker 7 (04:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
If you listen to the podcast, then let us know
whether Bailey is right or not.
Speaker 7 (04:22):
Now I'm curious. I want to listen to it.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
You're the first person that I've had that you've had
the bulls to say, I didn't think it was very good.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Now, well, I want to finish it now, just because
I want to know if it gets better. I do
think when she talks about her music, that's when she
has like real thoughts and feelings about it.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Other than that, it just doesn't.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It just feels very like one note, one level, And
I just want them to explain something more, and I
want the Kelsey brothers to listen and to react to
what she's saying versus on Well. I mean, you joke
a lot about them being no heads, but it does
seem kind of going back and forth, going oh, well.
Speaker 7 (04:57):
I think they are.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I mean, come on, think about it. They've been at
Leet's probably since they were six years old. They've hung
out in like a bro click the entire time. It
is very That's just kind of the way they are.
Text messages Bailey. This one says Bailey, you're on point.
Another one says Bailey. I could not get past the
first full six minutes when Travis said elevators weren't built
(05:20):
in nineteen seventy three. He said that with his full
chest so confidently. I couldn't get past that from Rowan
why wouldn't. I don't know what the context was, but
elevator has been around for like one hundred and fifty
years or so.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Not like the modern ones, but yeah, they have been
somebody else texted five three, nine to one, Bailey. That's
why we like it. It's laid back and normal, not
so stiff and formal. It's like a real family convo.
We get to watch.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
That's fine, but the problem family convo.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
But the problem comes when you start to make it
so insidery, like a little peel behind the curtain.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Sometimes we do that on our show.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
We have to remember that, you know, we have inside
jokes as friends, you know, outside.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
I don't think they were doing any inside things.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
I just think I think you were expecting much more
from it than like just some people hanging out in
that's what their podcast is.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Yeah, I just I know after this, I will never
listen to this podcast.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
I mean, I'm not interested in a podcast at all.
I was only interested because Taylor.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
I think a lot of podcasters are just really bad
because we compare them to the standards of broadcasting, where
we have a certain amount of time that we've got
to you know, we got to get in before the commercial, Like,
we got a commercial coming up on us, so we
got to be more economical with our with our words
and what we talk about. But when you got a
podcast that's open ended, like for example, I don't I've
never listened to Joe Rogan, not even once, but I
(06:30):
know that he goes like sometimes three or four hours. Yeah,
because it's open ended, they can take all the time
just chatting around anything they want.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
So maybe that's more what it is.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
But when you hear something like you know, you watch
a I don't know what in the interview on TV
and I'm trying to think of something we watched an
interview on TV, they're they're going to be more economical,
so they kind of get to the point instead of
just sitting around like your analogy, sitting around on lawn
chairs in the backyard.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
What it felt like drinking a beer at like literally
right before I walked in here, she was trying to
tell Travis Kelcey that he knew what the world word
esoteric meant. She's like, oh, he's very smart. He knows
a lot of words. I taught him the word esoteric, Andson's.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
Like Taylor said that about Travis.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah, Jason's like, what, I don't know what that means?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
And then Travis tries to explain it but then can't
and it's just And that was like for three minutes
of conversation with them talking about the word esoteric.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Another text message says it felt like a podcast hosted
by Beavis and butt.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Head and its actually was it kind of is.
Speaker 7 (07:26):
All right, good take on that. I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
What do you think? Maybe Bailey's completely wrong, Maybe you
agree with it. Maybe it's one of those things where
you're not allowed to say it's bad. That's how I feel,
because it's like Taylor is like God, and you're not
allowed to assault God.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
So I don't know. What do you think? All Right?
We got other stuff coming up.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Number one, We're gonna figure I'm gonna go look up
esoteric because I have no idea what esoteric means.
Speaker 7 (07:49):
Same, Okay, I think it's it's a kind of frosting.
Oh yeah, yeah, it's a kind of frosting.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
It's a whipped frosting.
Speaker 7 (07:56):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
So we got War of the Roses coming up in
a second on kdub hang on War of the Roses
coming up next, text us anything at KATWB one and
we'll be right back war the re wub. Okay, we're
gonna play a sing along song. So it's a morning
(08:19):
show tradition. Right around this time you get out of bed,
you get started, you're like having your coffee and you
got to do a little sing along song, kind of
boost your seratonin, your dopamine, your endorphins, all of that stuff.
Send me a text and let me know what you
would like to sing along with this morning.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
Don't think too hard about it.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
There's no perfect answer, but we're not that picky, so
just send me a text at KATIEWB one five three
nine two one and let us know. All right, relaxing.
It is the weekend and what we all want to
relax and do something we enjoy. They came up with
a relaxing score and found the most relaxing cities in
(08:56):
the world. Now, the interesting thing is most of us
will never visit the cities. But number one is good news.
It's San Diego because if it's laid back, vibe and
scenic coastline.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
Also in there.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
That is the only one in the United States besides Portland, Oregon,
which came in at number eight. Singapore Vienna Austria, Sydney, Australia, Melbourne, Australia, Berlin, Auckland,
New Zealand, Portland, Rome, Helsinki, Finland, Madrid, Spain, and Barcelona, Spain.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
A lot of those places are like party cities.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
I feel like Barcelona and Berlin.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
I mean maybe because it's got coastline and we relax
on the beach.
Speaker 7 (09:34):
I'm not really sure.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Because it is National Relaxation Day, where or when do
you feel most relaxed? Is there a place that immediately
puts you in a chill state? Is it somewhere in
your house? Is it somewhere in the Twin Cities? Is
it somewhere on vacation? Where do you go that puts
you in a chill state? I'm gonna go ahead and
(09:57):
say the Black Hills because we were there last week
and we just chilled all week and it's just like,
you know, it's beautiful, you're on vacation, you're kind of
eating a little more of what you want, drinking a
little more of what you want. So I would say,
for me, the Black Hills. What's your most respond relaxing
spot in your house?
Speaker 7 (10:15):
Want in your house? In your house?
Speaker 2 (10:16):
I don't have the seven hundred square feet.
Speaker 7 (10:18):
So good answer. Yeah, good answer, Jenny.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
In my house, I would also go with my bed.
I love my bed so much. But if not, I
would go anywhere that I can view water. It can
be the north shore, it could be the ocean. Just
anywhere where I can see water. It brings me so
much peace.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
I agree, like I do like walking around Cedar Lake
because you're kind of like in the woods for most
of it, and you're right next to the water and
just like watching the water kind of.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
Go lapping, lapping. I love that.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
N all right, we had to make a decision here.
Vaughn is going to surprise us. Don is going to
pick out a song that has been texted and we
don't know what he's going to pick.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Don't let us so much pressure.
Speaker 7 (11:00):
Can we go?
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Is this two out there? I have two options? Somebody
texted Cisco thong song? Is that two out there? No,
let's do the song. Okay, let's do it Thong song Cisco. Actually,
last I heard lives in Maple Grove. Not making this out.
It is an old rumor. I haven't heard it in
a long time.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
It's he lives right next to FoST swim school and maybe.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Does he really look at that sing along song of
the day on Katie WB Okay, Hi, it's one of
one kat That song ends very very very quickly.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
So odd I want them to play that song at
my funeral. Can you guys make sure that happens?
Speaker 6 (11:36):
Why, I'm outliving you okay?
Speaker 2 (11:39):
So that means you're gonna make sure they played at
my funeral.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
The you gotta let that thong thing go. That happened
one time a year ago. It's not like you walk
around in a thong all the time, far.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
As you know, David, Yeah, as far as you know.
I showed that picture of the thong of me at
the radio conference I went to last week. So many
people came out to me. It was like, Wow, that
was molesy of you, and I was like, yeah, for
the bit, baby.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
For you to gain followers on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
It was a great bit and a great butt.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
You can't say that about your own pots.
Speaker 7 (12:14):
So you can't, absolutely can't.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Ya, big butt.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Not a good butt has got his own gravitational poll.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Whoa when the scream is being cleaned over to a
MC Jenny rented out her butt.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
Yeah, so yeah, let's do the dirt. But you know
that that's it. You're one stuff for all the celebrity news.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
You need Dave's dirt on KD W B.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
All right.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
There's a rumor going around that in the movie Happy
Gilmore Too, there's a scene where bad Bunny straps Travis
Kelcey to a pole and then covers him with honey.
So I think the flies will eat him to death
or bees or whatever.
Speaker 7 (12:55):
No, it's a bear. Okay, it's a bear.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
So a bear will come up and want to kill
Travis Kelsey, which is very funny. There's a rumor that
the bear is Taylor Swift in a bear suit. Now
I've watched this movie twice. It's really it's not even
a bear suit. It's like an animatronico sort of a bear.
But Taylor Swift dispels the rumor that she was the bear,
and Happy.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
Gilmore will send it to each other and be like, hey,
did you hear I was the bear in there?
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Here?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
We bought a house in Lake Como.
Speaker 8 (13:24):
We're just sort of like at this point, we're just like,
of course they think I'm inside of a bear costume,
Like I'm honored to be thought of in that context.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
If you watch the movie Number one, it's great. I
loved it, Susan loved it, Jenny loved it. It's just stupid.
It's just stupid, and it's funny.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
Yes, I did love it.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
I will say there's like part in like the later
half that I was like EH about, But I think
it's very funny and all the cameos are really good.
I saw Pete Davidson do an interview yesterday and he
was talking about how he feels like he was so
sexualized and that's all he was.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
And he here's a clip of him talking about it.
Speaker 9 (13:55):
Now it's starting to change a little bit. But no
one talked about any work I was doing.
Speaker 7 (14:00):
Hurt.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
It's embarrassing because first of all, it's Hollywood, everybody. Everyone,
everybody's dating everybody. Why are they focusing on me? It's
because I'm not Glenn Powell handsome. I'm just this dude
that tells jokes, that is a drug addict.
Speaker 9 (14:15):
That stuff affects relationships like it was embarrassing did start.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
I think it was like the New York Times or something.
Speaker 9 (14:22):
When I started dating someone they considered out of my league.
They were like, this guy must have big energy, and
then someone confirmed it.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I've heard a bigger than a breadstick, but smaller than
a compact car.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Smaller than a compact bigger.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Than bigger than a bread stick, but smaller women want
I don't know, you'd have to tell me. I don't know,
but that's what I heard. Bigger than a bread stick,
smaller than a compact car.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Well, if you're wondering, Pete is referencing Ariana Grande confirming
then he has a larger member.
Speaker 7 (14:53):
And as we call it.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
So he had gone on because I saw more clips
of that interview and he had gone on to talk
about how like even on SNL he just like wasn't
taken seriously. All these skits were based around his BD
and he just got really frustrated with where his career
turned into because of who he was. But then, guess what,
women have been being sexualized for a much longer time.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
So look at Sydney Sweeney.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Nobody wants her besides something that's gonna involve her being
in a bikinian.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
So she's doing that stuff though, like she's agreeing to
do that stuff.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
So I agree, But I think that like people get
pigeonholed sometimes so yeah, Pete Davison got has been pigeonholed
in yep, and he's mad about it.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
We got new music.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Let's kick it off with this one from the Jonas Brothers,
which I've heard a little bit of.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
It's called Tantrum. I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
I had no interest in seeing the Jonah's Brothers on
tour again because I've seen them twice. But now that
they're bringing out Demi and other possible, like guess maybe
because they'll be here in October. And then another new
music from Maroon five and Little Wyne. This one's called
love Is Like. I like that one very viby.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
And that is new music. Friday, we got morning music
coming up on KTBB. But right now, by the way,
it's a said TDWB weekend starting three o'clock this afternoon.
It's Taylor Swift the top of the hour every hour
all weekend and some new stuff, some old stuff. So
it's at ADWGB Weekend. We'll be back in a second.
We're gonna talk to a mom who wants to normalize
something about kids birthday parties, and I'm not sure whether
(16:24):
I like this idea or not. She's done du in
with this thing that goes on at kid's birthday parties.
She doesn't want to do it anymore. I want you
to tell us what you think you'll hear her next
