Speaker 1 (00:02):
It is a huge day here on Katie WB. We
are so excited. It's a very big day today once.
Are you super excited? Yes, yes, Oh my god. We've
been waiting for this. I mean we've been talking about
this and like, oh it's coming up, and I'm so
excited for a while. And Vaunt is like, you know,
dressed up a little bit today and we're all were
a little bit more nicer what we than usually wear.

(00:23):
And I brush my teeth and so it's a big
day because it is Taylor Swift has got a new album. Yes, yes,
Taylor Swift is like, I don't know. My friend Kelly,
who's the cop up in Coon Rapids, she was like,
oh my god, did you hear about Taylor Swift. I'm
like no. She's like, oh my god, she's teasing a
new album and she's good bu buh. And I said, okay,

(00:46):
well that's great. She's like, I'll be on the show
tomorrow to tell you all about it seven thirty and
I'm like, okay, wonderful. And then it turned over the
overnight they spilled the beans and now Taylor Swift has
got a new album coming out Wow, and it's called
What the life of a showgirl.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah, big deal. Yeah. Wait wait back, so Kelly's coming
on the show at well, not only not only that,
not only that. No, she's not on today, the news
is out. But there's a big birthday today too, big
birthday today. Super excited to say a lot of sixty
two years old legend, legend song.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Sometimes birthday didn't miss her.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
No, that's what they say, Dave, that.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Is what her Yeah, that's true. Anything else going on, guys, Yeah,
I mean silly. There is one other big day today
as a big day. We've been looking forward to this
for a long time. Yeah, it is happy National Vinyl
Record Day today, National love. That that means going to

(01:55):
turntable at home, your old vinyl collection. Maybe you've got
your mom or dad's or uncle Paul's old vinyl record collection.
It's a big day to pull those out and just listen. Yeah,
just sit back, listen, enjoy the day. Other than that,
there's really it's just another average Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
We're giving some weird text that say happy birthday von
that's weird.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Vaut who I don't know, is it Vaughn's birthday?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Birthday?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, that's how people spell one of the ways people
miss he's a plumber down in Verigrove Heights.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah, plumber down, Happy birthday. On it is time. Now
you probably think that they're going to do another angle,
but no, we got to get right onto what's on
your radar? Here on Katie would be what's on your radar?
This is where we kind of like recommend something and
I am so happy to go. First, Okay, vacation snack food.
You stop at the convenience store, you get a snack food.

(02:49):
I get core nuts. But I also discovered something new
and it's on my radar. I want to pass it along.
You've heard of like Nerds ropes and Nerds gummy clusters,
nothing new? Yeah, sweetheart roe have you heard of sweetheart
rope oirl?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
That's my favorite?

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Can't.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Oh they're so good. I bought some on the way
to Sturgis in the in the RV on the way
out there. Oh. I probably bought five more packs on
the way back there, and so good. They're not Nerds.
The sweetheart ropes. Yes, they're like red licorice with sweetheart filling.
Different flavors, Bailey, No, I know.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
There's tropical, there's cherry, there's a different red one.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
It's tropical blue, Like, is the pack tropical? Yeah, it's blue,
but the rope is like multi colored. I'm just saying
anything blue is typically the best flavor. Okay, all right,
so that's on my radar, Jenny, what's on your radar
this week? Recommend something?

Speaker 4 (03:35):
What's on my radar is the first episodes of the
second season of Wednesday on Netflix. I was gonna maybe
wait till the second drop of episodes come out so
I could all watch it in one swoop, but I
started watching it and it's super good so far. So
Wednesday on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Okay, Bailey, what's on your radar mine?

Speaker 6 (03:53):
Is the Uptown Porch Fest, which is a free neighborhood
music festival, and that's happening this Saturday from one to
five pm in different porches and yards all across Uptown.
So you literally just like bring a little yard chair,
launch chair, you sit down, you listen to people play,
and then you can walk to the next house and
then listen to a little band play.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
So it's like little bands, kids on a trumpet, kids
like no, it's.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Like a band's like rock bands, but they're on people's
porches in Uptown and I went last year and it's
super cute. You just kind of wander around and listen
to music at the Uptown Porch Fest this Saturday.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
And vont what is on your radar? On my radar
is that new movie Weapons.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
We said, what came in number one in the box
offices past weekend, and we're probably gonna go see it today.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
It's so good.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
It's about like these kids that just they all were
in a classic andther in the middle of the night
got up and ran into the woods and disappeared and
they disappeared.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
So good. Okay, So once again on our radar, it
is a Sweetheart Ropes, a little treat at the convenience
store next time you're on a little road trip or
you want a little snack.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Sweetheart Ropes minus the show Wednesday on Netflix.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Mine is the Uptown Porch Fest, which is a neighborhood
music festival in Uptown this Saturday.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
And mine is the new movie Weapons. And theaters And
now we've been joking around a lot, but I want
to let you know that I'm very serious. I want
to wish somebody a very special happy birthday. Sir mix
a lot. He has got a birthday today, So, yeah, who.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Understands those rap guys?

Speaker 5 (05:14):
I only talk to her because she looks like a
total prostitute.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I mean, like big Lot. I heard sometimes somewhere that
that was actually sir mix a Lot's voice sped up,
that actually does that little girl the girl's voice of
the Really I heard that. I don't know whether that's
true or not, so it's kind of funny. All right, anyway,
we'll be back in a second. We got dirt coming
up in a second on KTWB. Lots of stuff to cover,
including Taylor Swift on the some clips of her yapping

(05:41):
about her new album, and other dirt coming up next
on kd WB on National Vinyl Record.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Kd w B.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Are you ready for the dirt? You're ready for the
big Taylor Swift dirt all the all, the Taylor all
the time. Are you ready? Nobody said yeah, I really
expected some enthusiastically.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yeah, we're looking for her. I was looking for my
distracted I found it.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
She found it over a pin. I heard Jenny say, Bailey,
that one's mine.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well, I didn't know where mine was. I found it.
Everything's okay. Now let's talk about Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, okay, you're ready, Let's do.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
It from Hollywood right to your radio. It's Dave's Dirt
on kd WB.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
So it started apparently in the last twenty four hours
or so. I guess what happened was Swifties quickly deciphered
the New Heights teas early on Monday about a very
special guest on Wednesday's podcast, So Travis's brother Jason are
hosting Taylor Swift, who will unveil album artwork for the

(06:41):
Life of a Showgirl. That's the name of the album,
and presumably Taylor's going to offer details about the album's
release date In the first single. She and Travis could
delve into their relationship status too. During the one hour
podcast So Overnight, not at midnight, but twelve minutes past midnight,
Taylor revealed that the twelfth rear album is titled Life

(07:01):
of a Showgirl. You may check this is an interesting part.
You may pre order vinyl and cassette copies as well
as a showgirl poster cuz because says a lesson. Wow,
that was crazy wow. Trending from Swifty tweets included new
album and screaming, crying, throwing up one clue that Taylor

(07:25):
would be on The New Heights was that her record
label Republic liked the post. Also, her official social media
pr account, Taylor Nation, waited exactly twelve minutes after the
New Heights tease to post twelve photos of Taylor and
orange attire because, as you know now, and if you don't,
I'm going to tell you, glittering orange is the aesthetic
for life of a showgirl. Here's something interesting. Sabrina Carpenter

(07:48):
is in one of those pictures. Oh, she will be.
And by the way, in addition, Sabrina posted last week,
go put on some clothes with a photo of ringe
undies drying on a laundry line. All these clues, all
these hints, all these things twelves and oranges and hints
and and and and that nods. They're crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
You're on top of the Taylor Swift tea.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Yeah, I'm a big sweet.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
You because I was really confused. I was in a
group chat yesterday with web girl Tina that you used
to work on the show, and all of a sudden,
people are like, do we change the colors for Tina's
bachelor at party to orange this weekend? And I'm like,
what is happening? Why are we changing to orange is
supposed to be pink and green. And then I started
stressing out and I couldn't understand what was happening. It
was because of Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Not gonna lie. I might be here for that. Sabrina
and Taylor collab like it might be a Bob.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Well, we love both of them. I love Sabrina carpent
Or more. I think her music is more melodic and whatever.
But here's that Taylor on the.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Podcast, I wanted to show you something.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Okay, what we got? We got briefcase.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yep, Mick Green, yep. This is my brand new album,
The Life of a show Girl.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
That's a bro podcast I've ever heard podcast.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, something's kind of interesting. The people that normally help
her write songs and produce are not working with her
on this album. Jack ant Enoff, who really You probably
don't know this, but Taylor writes a good amount of
her songs, but she doesn't write all of all of them.
Jack ant Andnoff's a legendary songwriter. He's not working on
this one. Max Martin is, do you know who Max
Martin is? He wrote everything from I Want It that Way,

(09:33):
That's the way it is from Selina Young a legendary songwriter.
Max Martin is a hit making machine. So the guy
who wrote I Want It that Way is working, has
worked on Taylor's album.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
I just think there's so many, you know, the whole
Eras thing. Gosh, she contains multitudes because like I'm thinking
folklore to this, like show girl thing.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Those are two very different girls, very different girls.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
This is going to have a different sound, Bailey. Yeah,
oh it is, it is?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah, Oh, how much about it?

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Well, besides that blowing up on social media yesterday, I
also saw that someone got engaged and it's the most
hideous ring I've.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Ever seen in my live ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
Cristiano Ronaldo finally proposed to his girlfriend of eight years.
Her name is Georgina Rodriguez, and she has the most
ginormous thirty carrot diamond finger and it's just it looks
gaudy if you.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Ask, No, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
It doesn't even look cute because it's so big.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
It is probably if you squeezed a fifty cent piece
a little bit into an oval, that's about how big
it is. Yeah, it is ridiculous. Yeah, And I always
said the bigger the engagement ring the shorter the marriage
really carve that in stone fun. I wasn't that was
one thing I was gonna question.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
But I was also going to say, I feel like
it's harder to you know, five ten years down the line,
we want to celebrate an anniversary to go bigger, because
this isn't the thing like you get the ring redone.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
No, you take him to I hop oyeah remember that? Yeah? Yeah,
short married? Does a woman want more than a ring?
A short stack special? Absolutely goodness.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
I was gonna say, just so you know, the ring
costs five million dollars. So if you ever want to
buy your lady of thirty carrot ring five million right now,
that's all.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
You need writing it down.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Joe Burrows are doing some more rollout because they're ticking
off their well, they kicked off their tour last the
other day with Damielevado. Now today they're gonna be on
Hot Ones, and I feel like the three of them
with Sean Evans gonna be comedy gold that comes out
at noon today one o'clock Eastern.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
There episode of Hot Ones. Ooh, and that's when they
eat hot chicken and then just ask answer a bunch
of personal question I've never seen it, but it sounds
like a very funny concept.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
You've seen a million clips of it?

Speaker 1 (11:43):
I know I have. Yeah, everywhere.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
Katy Perry has been fined seven thousand dollars because last
year she made a music video on the sand dunes
inside Spain's Cessalinus.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Natural Park without permission.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
So she was in like a protected area and it's
like a sensitive habitat and she went in where access
was prohibited to do her Lifetime's music video. And now
she has fined seven thousand dollars and she did pay
it though, so that's good. She's not like on the run.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
It's a fine right, not a lawsuit. No, she's fine.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
When I was younger, I used to think when celebrities
got lawsuits that their career was over. Now I'm realizing
that that happens so much more often than all day.
It's like putting on shoes.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Yeah, it's also a very big birthday today. I'd like
to announce happy birthday too. Yes, a lot. You didn't
want to barrel Watson with anybody's been around thing in
your face. You get sixty two years old today, half birthday, sir,
mix a lot. Okay, we're gonna do the sing along
song of the day coming up next on kd wub
A kneeds your suggestion. Send me a text at KDWB

(12:45):
one short code five three nine two one. Let us
know what song you want to sing along with this morning. Okay,
maybe you want to sing along with Baby Got Back?
Not a bad choice. Maybe you got something better. Send
me a text and we'll do it next. The sing
along song of the day coming up on Katie. I
got a couple of big birthdays to mention today, so
let's get started. Happy birthday to the coolest guy I know,

(13:07):
Sam J. Jones. He is seventy one years old today.
Men also want to wish there's another one. London is
turning fourteen years old to day. And by the way,
shout out to their husband Scott, because it is our
nineteenth anniversary. That's our Lindsay, our Nebraska bestie. Anything else
we're celebrating day there is. It is a big day today.

(13:29):
It is nine days for the start of the State Fair.
Nine days countdowns start of the Faith Fair. It's kind
of crazy vont for no particular reason. There's a bunch
of nominations for the singalong song of the day. Would
you like to pick the sing along song of the
day of all the nominations. Sure, let's go in the club.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
You know that song that says happy birthday for no
reason in particular, well does say happy birthday?

Speaker 1 (13:49):
That says it's your birthday, birthday and a party like
at your birthday, and we don't give up blanked, it's
your birthday, pass through you. Oh my god, we haven't
talked about Taylor Swift. Oh, we haven't talked about Taylor
Swift in a good twenty minutes now, So we've got
to bring her up again. Because Taylor Swift is like
she was hinting about a new album and then she's
got a new album coming out, and she released twelve

(14:11):
pictures last night with an orange aesthetic because the like,
the sparkly orange is going to be the esthetic of
the new album. And it's called the Life of a Showgirl.
And apparently Sabrina Carpenter is going to be on there,
and they announced it on the podcast yesterday, The Kelsey.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Brothers Show You Something.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Okay, what we got?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
We got a briefcase yep, mint green, yep.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirls.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
S Broke Podcast. I love that he did that. Like
I said, he was surprised he knew the like the announcement.
I know he has to hype it up, but still
I think it was.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
What was funny too, is that the Kelsey Brothers like
posted a picture of them, like hey, new podcast, and
then like the middle person was like blacked out, and
all of the Swifties like figured out exactly which Taylor
Swift picture it once.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
It was like and they were like, it's gotta be
Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
She's gotta be on the podcast. They love that. They're
like little detectives.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yeah. I mean, I wish they would solve real crime.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
That would be great. They should do that for a
lot of cold cases. Yeah, Amy Bradley, I watched that yesterday.
Well THEYD figure out where Amy Bradley also. Max Martin
is the producer and songwriter on a lot of the songs,
because he's a big deal. If you don't know who
Max Martin was, he is a hit making machine and
he wrote I Want It that Way and a lot
of other songs. He wrote a lot of En Sing
songs and I think some Backstreet Boys songs. A lot

(15:33):
of other songs too. So we'll cover more of that
coming up, and now let's get into this one. On
one point three kd w b U. The average wedding
today in twenty twenty five costs thirty three thousand dollars,

(15:59):
which about two hundred and eighty four dollars per guest.
Now there's a lot of hacks out there that claim
to make things a little bit cheaper, but it's mostly
twenty bucks here, twenty bucks. They are still very expensive.
But there's a new concept. There's a new app taking
off that allows couples to you ready, yeah, sell tickets
to their wedding.

Speaker 6 (16:16):
I've seen that and it like pays for it says,
have your wedding funded.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
The way it works is not it's not intended for
your loved ones or your uncle you know, Paul or
Grace or whoever. It is selling tickets to strangers. You
choose how many tickets you want to make available, and
paying ticket holders can mingle with guests and enjoy the
happy events. So they're kind of like wedding crashers who
are paid to be there. It might be strange for

(16:43):
a couple not to know everybody, but it wouldn't be
too wankford for guests because you don't know three quarters
of the people at the wedding anyway. Yeah, usually the
couples can choose how much to charge, but generally tickets
costs about one hundred and two hundred bucks and you
must have a special and maybe more have a special
menu you or venue. They can also approve sales after

(17:03):
they see the profiles of perspective guests. For example, if
BoNT and I wanted to come along, they would look
at our profile and go no to that one, no
to that one, yes, And a wedding photographer would have
to know who the outside guests are so the couple
doesn't end up with a photos a bunch of photos
of guests that they don't know who they are.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Yeah, that sounds honestly like a super fun date, like
if you wanted to do that, like you and your
your partner do that like twice three times a year
and be like, hey, want to go to a random
person's wedding tonight, And then you know it's fifty bucks
and you get dinner.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
You get cake, you get to dance, and yeah, but
do you get to go to all of that part?
You get to go to the dinner.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
I think just a reception. Nobody wants to the ceremony.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
No, youone know what I'm saying. There, you're going to
have a spot at a table or don't know, it's
like access to the dance.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
That's a good question. Probably just the dancer.

Speaker 6 (17:52):
I would hope it's the food and everything. Just all
the ticketed people at one table. That sounds fun.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yeah, but then you have to make more food, you
know what I mean? I don't know, because food.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
Yeah, it kind of sounds like the couple might not
have enough friends and so they're putting it out there
to be like we'll have more people at our wedding
if we let people buy a ticket.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I think it sounds fun. I want to go to
random people's weddings.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Allison had a great wedding at a venue in Chaska,
and it was like a multi level, so like here's
the bottom floor, and then there's a level above it,
then there's a level above it. And there were a
couple of people who crashed your wedding because there was
no you know, security guard out to make sure nobody
could come in and wander in. And so some people
texted me a couple of days after and said, yeah,

(18:36):
we crashed Alison's wedding because we had an open bar. Yeah,
and it was a great wedding.

Speaker 6 (18:42):
Like people like who listened to the show just randomly
came and then told you about it.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
I don't know that they randomly came. I think they
might have been in the venue and said, oh, look
there's a wedding, let's go crash the web.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
I've always wanted to do that.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
Anytime that I'm in like a hotel, on like a
speech trip, and there's a wedding happening, I'd be like,
you guys want to cross those morning?

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Should never did?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
You should have your own wedding.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Okay, Well, there's.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
A couple of steps. That's, as we say in the
pool business, that's a few balls down the tablet it. So,
in other words, there's a couple of balls you got
to sink before you get married. But the place one?

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Which one do you have to sink first?

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Which ball? The left one?

Speaker 2 (19:21):
The left one?

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Exactly? All right? What's coming up on the show, Jenny?
What do we got?

Speaker 4 (19:25):
We got Tatema Craze, Tate mccry tickets coming up and
the next day.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
I don't know, Okay, I would say so.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Yeah, you know what to do.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Listen for tw Tate McCree songs in a row, keywords
in between them, and you'll go to the top back.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
And there's now two War of the Roses a week.
There's one on set, the usual one on Thursday at
seven thirty five, and a new one Tuesday. That's today
at seven twenty. So War of the Roses comes up
this morning. A brand new one you've never heard it before,
comes up at seven twenty this morning on k d
double U B.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
And is there anything you want to you know, celebrate today,
anything you want to say like, oh, this is exciting, I.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Know that there is, there is, Yes, Casey Affleck is
fifty years old today. Ben Affleck's the brother. He is
fifty years old today. It's that half century mark. Happy birthday,
Casey Affleck. And we'll be right back on kdubub
