Speaker 1 (00:02):
One, two, three, four. We're all here, okay, the first time,
first time in a week or so. We are all here, Dave, Jenny, Bailey,
and Vaughan. Good morning. Jenny's gonna have the best pictures
from the weekend, because you know, we all take pictures
over the weekend, just like you, and Jenny's gonna have

(00:22):
the best ones because she was in Iceland. I was
in Jordan. Compared to Iceland really doesn't even fit in
the same category.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
It is beautiful down there.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
It's gateway to the Minnesota's largest candy store, that's true.
And then Bailey was in red Wing, beautiful down there,
barn Bluff, Yeah Bluff.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
I was looking out over the thing and I was like, Wow,
it's sure, it's nice to be alive.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
And I was like, put Jenny's in Iceland.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
And then Vaughnson Valley Fair, Yes, Valley Fair. Family was
up here, not in Jersey. Such a good time.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
God's country out there.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
That's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
What Jersey or Valley Fair, Yes, Valley Fair. So every
Monday morning we kind of talk about the pictures that
we took over the weekend. If you if you want
to see him, you can see him on Dave Ryanshow
dot com or you can see them on Instagram Dave
Ryan Show. But if you can't see him, we just
kind of described them. I'm gonna save Jenny for last.

(01:12):
I will get and go first. My favorite picture of
the weekend was Carson is on the David Kushner tour
and he's the guy who.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Is in the daylight, running in the daylight.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
In the day that guy, he's world famous and he's
huge over in Europe. So Carson is his tour manager.
And in David's post, there was a picture of David
and Carson hanging out backstage in France joking around about
something and somebody got a picture of it, and I thought,
that's cool. There's my boy tour manager in He was
in I think Brussels or somewhere maybe Paris at the time,

(01:45):
and somebody got a picture of it. I was like that,
I'm so proud of my boy. So that is my
favorite weekend picture. Bought what's your favorite weekend picture?

Speaker 5 (01:51):
Like I said, Fanbam came up to visit for the
Fourth of July weekend. We went to Valley Fair and
my grandma, she's getting older, she has arthritis, so it's
harder for her to walk. When I tell you, we
got the flume ride at Valley Fair and she I
guess it was holy water in that ride because she
was running like let's do it.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Again, let's do it again.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
So there's a picture of the four of us like
soaking wet after we got off the ride.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
It was super sixty. She'll be sixty seven next month.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Good for her that she'll still go on rides like that.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
She apparently she used to get on that ride all
the time and they were younger. We had to convince her.
We were like, come on, grandma, come on, and she
was like okay, but grudgingly did it once and then
we she was like, let's do it again. Six more
times is awesome. So she went on the flume that
goes down the big hill. Yep, you go up like
it's like a like a log flume. You go up slowly, slowly,
then go straight down like drop twenty feet maybe more

(02:35):
and then water shrewsh all awa.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
It's definitely more than twenty feet, but yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, it was a guess it's not so good. It's
only three feet.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
It's it's like it's like yah, yeah for her.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
That's a big deal, Bailey. What's your favorite picture?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
H Yeah, yesterday I went to red Wing with my
friends Sarah and Nick just for a day trip.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I got so many really good recommendations.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
We have a billion listeners who live in red Wing apparently,
so I got a ton of really great recommendations. And
my favorite picture is just us sitting next to this
really big red Wing moral or moral rural mural. Uh.
And yeah, it was really fun, really great views and
red Wing. It's a cute day trip. If you want
somewhere to go.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yeah, Okay, Jenny, you got to pick one picture.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Just I don't want to pick.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Okay, I'm just going to tell you to go to
my pictures because truthfully, I have about a million pictures
from this trip, and I just picked one from every
single day because I was gone for ten days. So
but I feel like I'm looking at it and I
was like, God, I should have put this picture insaid
or that one and said, so if I really really
really really had to pick, probably the one of my
sister and I in front of this glacial lagoon. I've

(03:41):
never seen icebergs in my life, and so it was
just so cool to see a glacier and there's little
like ice chunks floating away constantly into the ocean and stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
I saw that picture and I thought there were trash
bags on the beach.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
That was Diamond Beach.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
If I said, Lagoon's different and Diamond Beach was quite
a disappointment. It's like one of the most famous things
in Iceland, and you go to this beach and there's
ice chunks and they look like diamonds sparkling in the sun,
but they were so small, they looked like nothing exciting,
and yeah, I don't know. In this summer, apparently they're
not very exciting to see.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
It's heart ofly that just a week ago you were
basically on the other side of the world in some tiny,
little foreign country and now here you are back in
beautiful downtown Saint Louis Park.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
And it's crazy because I flew out yesterday morning. It
was nine thirty their time, but you know, like five
thirty eight or no, like four thirty here. And then
I came home and honestly, I avoided any kind of
jet leg because they don't have a sunset right now
over there, so I basically stayed up until like three
am every morning and explored, stayed on Minnesota time, yeah,

(04:43):
and literally explored, slept until ten, and then we woke
up and started our day. So I feel like I
never like changed time zones, which is.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Why all your pictures looks like no one lives in
this line.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Yeah, there's around four people total other than you and
your sister and your pictures right wild.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Now we all want to go to Iceland. Yeah wow,
check out to Tenny's pictures. All the Weekend in five
pictures are on Dave Ryan Show on Instagram. Make sure
you like because we get judged by the number of
like like like like likes, so we make sure you
like things. And then if you want to see the
entire gallery, go to Dave Ryanshow dot com and under
each of our name tabs Dave, Jenny, Bailey, and Vaughn

(05:21):
you can see all of our Weekend in five pictures.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Thank you for listening. We had a lot of stuff
going on.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
We got a lot stuff to catch up on, but
we're gonna come back in a second with you can't
make this stuff up. There is a new trend on
first dates. Women don't do this on first dates anymore.
It's not sex, it's not no that's fine. It is
something else that you don't do on first dates anymore.
We'll tell you about coming up next.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
On Katie four.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
I've probably seen videos online of young women on a
hobby horse, which is basically a broomstick with a horse
head eye, and they're galloping around the arena and they're
hopping over little fences and rails and things like that,
and you're just use, are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Is this a joke? Is it? Are you stupid? What?

Speaker 6 (06:05):
So?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Last month Finland hosted the International Hobby Horse Championship. The
unconventional competition featured young women doing exactly what we just said,
walking around galloping around the arena, skipping around the arena
with a horsehead on the seven hobby horse categories include jumping, dressage,

(06:26):
and rodeo. Barrel racing. You know what barrel racing is? No,
you put barrels in a in a triangular shape and
then you ride around and then you ride to the
other one, ride around the outside, ride around him, and
race around the barrels running.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
We're just running with a horse with.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
A stick in your hand. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
What's dressage? I don't know if that is.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Dressing up the horse plumage, plumes, putting plumage, and decorated.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
It has been jokingly referred to as the vegan version
of horseback riding. I don't know how anybody can take
that seriously. They're probably just some athleticism involved, but wouldn't
you feel just stupid?

Speaker 3 (06:58):
No.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
We literally had someone I Swich on the show talk
about how they did this, and then other people texted
in right that you were here.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Yeah it was last year during the summer Olympics.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
Okay, yes, And then people texted in and said that
they kind of got into it during COVID time just
because everyone picked up random hobbies.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
So it's definitely a thing. I'd never heard of it
until that.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I just watch it and I'm like, how can you
like face your mom after you do this? You're right
back and your mom's gonna go, good job, Cindy.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
They're athletes. How dare you? Can you jump that high?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Then?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I'm an athlete, Jenny.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yeah, if you got a big first date, maybe try
not getting ready for it. A new hot dating trend
for women is to show up for the first dates
without doing their hair and makeup, Like, here's the real me,
Take it or leave it. It's supposed to filter out the
jerks and help you zero in on the ones who
actually like you. Plus, a guy can get ready for
a date in five minutes if he wants to, so

(07:52):
why should women have spend an hour?

Speaker 4 (07:54):
It takes it so long to get ready for dates.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Some women aren't even taking a step further by gradually
ramping up the amount of makeup or they wear on
this second or third dates. The ideas you'll only start
looking nice after you've proven that they're worth the effort.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
But I would feel what do you think about this one?

Speaker 3 (08:10):
I would feel bad about myself if I showed up
looking like a schlub, so like I wouldn't.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Be showing up looking like a slob.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
I can totally see, not like, you know, going full
out with my makeup and just trying to look like
a good version of myself, but not like schlubby showing
up like I rolled out of bed.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
Does it really take women like three hours to get
ready compared to a guy who takes three minutes? Or
do women just decide to take that long but you
need three hours?

Speaker 6 (08:35):
I think it does take and that maybe not three,
But I mean to be fair a lot of women
have hair that they wash, blow dry style, and especially.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Someone with me with my thick ass hair.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
I literally it takes like an hour for me to
go through that entire process, if not longer, if I
really wanted to take the time for.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Thick ass hair and her thick ass hair, you know.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Okay that I repair for the day. Okay, you just
never know.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
I thought Jenny had a tail. It was like, no,
it's just ass hair. Yeah, welcome back, Jenny. Let us
know if there's anything on your mind, birthday, anything like that.
Give us a shower, a text. We'll give you a
shout out. At KATIEWB one five three, nine to two,
one on the day, Ryan in the morning show on KDWB.

(09:24):
It's one on one point three kd WB. We had
get some votes in for the sing along song of
the day. We do this every morning about six thirty
six thirty five. Makes le you a chance to like scream,
sing along with something, whether you're in the shower, whether
you're getting your hair done. You can't do all your
brushing your teeth. It's hard to sing while you're pushing
your teeth, but dangerous whatever else you're doing. Let us
know what song you want to sing along to this morning,

(09:45):
just send me a text ht KDWB one. We'll do
that when we come right back. An important question for you.
I was it the chan Hassen Fourth of July parade
on Friday, And so I'm sitting there on the curb
and they're throwing candy, and it was very interesting to
me what candies were popular and what candies were still

(10:06):
in the street at the end of the parade. And
I'll tell you one more story. So I got the
two little kids, like they're two and they're four.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Wait, can you tell us what candies?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Well, i got a lot to talk about here, Jenny,
I'm all over the place. Bubble gum, nobody want the
bubble gum.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Nobody wants.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
It was like the little kind of like let little
laffy taffies or little whatever, anything hard candy or anything
that was not.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Chewy Jolly ranchers are always left.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
They're always laught.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Yeah, And so they're throwing out little like little bubble
gums and the hard ones that you bite into them,
and it's like, yeah, so those were left. What is
your favorite parade candy to get? Dumb dumb suckers are
usually kind of a hit. You know, they don't race
for them.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
I like the ones that are essentially Halloween candy. So
like the little tiny Skittles packets are I like those
because I don't want to sucker. I don't want to
have to suck on something that's hard. I don't want
to do it.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
You children, Bailey, while I was gone for a week,
just a bunch of teenage boys.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Last let me tell you, Bailey was telling us about
how she couldn't wait to go to Chicago because she
had a chance of getting some something round you.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
I did not. I went to red Wing over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
How dare So we're at the parade, I'm sitting there
on the curb, and the little girls are there with me.
So they're two and there four, and so they're scrambling
to get candy. And so there was a kid who
was on my left who kept running into our territory.
It's like, bitch, you stay over there. He's like an
eight year old boy, he's bigger. He's running into my
territory where the girls. So I'm like, So at one point,

(11:46):
some little fruit shoe rolls right in front of me,
he runs over to get it. And I put my
foot on it. What And he looked at me like
he gave me a look that said, mister, are you
gonna lift your foot?

Speaker 5 (11:58):
No?

Speaker 1 (11:58):
And I just gave him a look like, you know,
it wasn't a mean look. It was like, no, that's ours.
Stay in your own territory. So I picked it up
when I gave it to the girls.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Oh, you're so bad.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
I've never heard of security at a parade.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah, apparently, stay in your own territory. Kid, you got
that part of the curb. We're not running over there
to you.

Speaker 6 (12:16):
Yeah, that's that's an entitle little s you know. So
I don't disagree. I'd do the same thing to protect
my little area.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
You bet.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Still, this is the second third story you've had recently
about you said something to a kid in public.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Is that that I say anything? My eyes said it,
O God.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
That's mine.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Can I make an observation as well of something that
your hat said Instead of your eyes, your hat was
saying mother superior. You looked like a nun in your
little white hat that you were wearing.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
You don't like that hat.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
There was a Minnesota State Fair bucket hat.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Oh yeah, well, I think you had it pulled down
too far, so you look like Mother Superior sending Maria
off to Mary the von Trapp guy.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
I thought it was it's a great it's a it's
a it was a hot day.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, kept.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Hand had the bucket part in the front flipped up.
That's not keeping the sun out of your face.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Hat. I can't believe you found a way to judge
me about where I wore a hat. Where's a picture
of this hat? Is it anyway anywhere out there? You
posted it? Is this only your story?

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Well we got five picks.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah, it was in your Weekend in five picks, and
I believe it's in your on your Instagram as well.
Dave Ryan katwb But you look like Mother Superior, slash
like the Life Aquatic.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
You look like you're on a freaking boat in the seat.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
I love that hat. I got into the State Fair
a couple of years ago. It's one of my favorite hats.
It's a giant bucket hat.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Yeah, well it's something, thank you.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
And it was a big hit. The big hit thrown
out freezy pops, the little freezy.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Pops really were they frozen that We.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Were near the beginning of the parade route and so
they were thrown them out. They were still frozen. After
a while they're thought out. Those those were a big hit.
You wouldn't want a freezy pop at the parade, not no,
not if.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
It's thrown from something. And he used to be frozen,
like it was straight out.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Of the freezer.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Well they they were frozen.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
They probably were, and then they got through the parade.
Was this I heard? I missed a heat wave while
I was gone, you did? I was so disconnected, and
all of a sudden someone was telling me that, like
they were on the lake every day and stuff, and
they were saying how humid it was, and I'm like, God,
that feels so foreign. It's forty five degrees here and
like windy. So I had no idea what was happening
over and it was fit.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
It was hot, it was muggy. It was Some people
love it. I love it.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Some people hate it. It was.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I loved the beautiful Fourth of July weather. It was
supposed to rain a lot of the weekend. I don't
think it rained it.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
It didn't rain it alle once overda.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
I kind of annoyed about that briefly Saturday, like it
was on and off because We were going to go
to Taste the Minnesota Saturday, but we weren't sure if
it was going to get rained out. It was like
a light drizzle, but it wasn't bad, and then we
ended up going yesterday.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Did you stay for the Ludicrous performance all night?

Speaker 5 (14:39):
No, We went to like one ish and then stayed
for maybe three hours because it was kind of getting hot.
And then like as we were leaving, that's when I
started geting CWDED because people were get there for Louda.
They had to close it off because it was like
overcapacity for louding.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
No.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
I saw so many videos of people at it. It
looked crazy.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Well, I'm sure check out the photos on our Weekend
in five photos on Dave Ryan Show on Instagram or
Dave Ryanshow dot com. Got to give a shout out.
Family moving across country from Washington State to Virginia and
they're listening to KATIBB. They want to shout out to
Jack and Maverick for being troopers and getting along with
their mom during their cross country move. I'm not sure
how they found KATWB, but I'm glad you are listening

(15:15):
on your way. I guess they're in the military, so
they're moving from one state to another. I mean all
the way across.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
That is literally across the entire country.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Wherever you are listening, you can take us along in
the free iHeartRadio app. Just search for katiewb keeping our
finger on the Pulse of Tensiltown, Dave Dirt on kat
w b Uh. There's not a lot of earth shattering
dirt today, but there's some interesting stuff. So there's a
story that Kelly Clarkson's doing this Las Vegas show and
she's had to cancel her residency a couple of times.

(15:46):
She is blaming rehearsals and her voice and it's not working,
but somebody backstage says she is. She suffered a full
emotional breakdown backstage. One person says she is not okay.
This isn't just about her voice hitting the wall. She
was crying, saying she could not do it. You know,
whatever's going on with her must be a lot harder
than what we realized, because you look at Kelly and

(16:09):
you go, wow, things must be great, but you know
they're behind the scenes a lot of times you don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Seems pretty mad about that because it's like you wait
until the very last second.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Yeah, cancel.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
I believe it that she's maybe burnt out or whatever,
because she's also been saying she's not sure if she's
going to keep doing her talk show because she's so
burnt out, like she's been telling people this.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
She's also she.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
Was also gone for a few weeks, and I don't
remember what she confirmed. Yeah, I don't think they did,
which like she shouldn't have to if she's going through
something like she shouldn't have to like publicly be like
sorry but having a mental breakdown.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
M Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
We did a story last week about Keith Urban.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
He was on a radio show and they asked him
if how he felt about Nicole came been doing sex
scenes and apparently he hung up. Well, his publicist is
saying that didn't happen. He said, quote, it's a source.
Keith did not hang up period. He doesn't host his
Zoom interviews, and again, quote, this is a complete nothing burger.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
I don't know what that's supposed to be, but I
like that. So they're trying to figure out.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Okay, so then what really did happen because it did
sound like he clicked he was just gone all of
a sudden.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Yeah, Well, we've been talking a lot about Katy Perry
and Orlando Bloom. They have confirmed, or their reps have confirmed,
that they are no longer engaged. They were never married,
contrary to popular belief, but they released a joint statement,
as so many couples do, saying due to the abundance
of rates and interest. Representatives have confirmed that Orlando and

(17:31):
Katie have been shifting their relationship over the past many
months to focus.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
On co parenting their child. They have a four year old.
Her name is Daisy Dove. Interesting, yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Yeah, that was their last like public appearance together was
when she went up on the Blue Origin to Space
and then other than that, they're no longer together as
far as we know, okay confirmed.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
I think everyone heard about the flooding in Texas over
the weekend.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
It's really really sad.

Speaker 6 (17:59):
The death toll is risen to eighty one and there's
still forty missing, including twenty seven children at a girls
camp and like the camp counciler and stuff. So we
did want to talk about how there is a big
donation area you can go to if you want to
help anyone out. It's just Community Foundation dot net and
that's going to trusted local organizations to provide like food, shelter,

(18:20):
healthcare and all that stuff. So if you're able to help,
obviously they need all the help right now because they're
still doing a lot of searching and helping people get
back on their feet. Because man, I watched a time
laps video last night and over like two minutes the river. Yeah,
the river again, it was crazy, and I was so
stressed out for these people that were watching the river rise.

(18:42):
And it rose in like two minutes and it was
overflowing and it was maybe two feet high before that,
and I was up to I think one of.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
The sum rivers rose like thirty feet in forty five minutes.
I guess there's like a storm cell that just like
lingered and wouldn't move and just rain rain rained. Very unusual.
But yeah, I looked up the website. It's called the
Community the Jenny's right, it's community Foundation dot nets community
Foundation dot net. At the very very top, there's a
big green oval button that you can donate.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
So they're all vetted charities.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
It's not one specific charity, but if you can help out,
that would be wonderful. Dave's Dirt is brought to you
by six one two Injured Himer and Lammers Injury re Law.
