Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, good morning. Hey, it's Friday. Hi, how are you?
It's Katie w you be the Dave Ryan the show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It is.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Women's Week with International Women's Day tomorrow it is yes
and so yeah, happy holidays. So we're talking about like,
who's your favorite woman right now? And I want you
to think about this one. And it doesn't have to
be like a big giant figure, doesn't have to be
a big scientist or political leader or anything like that.
Who's your favorite woman right now? And it can be

(00:28):
your mama, it can be your little sister, it can
be a celebrity Jenny, who is your favorite woman right now?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
I am going to go with Mel Robbins.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
So she is a podcaster and author, an extremely intelligent woman,
and I think a lot of people have bought her
most recent book that's called Let Them, and it's all
about just letting people be and not always letting it
affect who you are, because I think we all do that,
and so I just I love her podcast. Anytime she's

(01:00):
a guest on a different podcast, I listen to that
as well. So I think she's just so inspirational and
gives really great life advice. So I would say Mel
Robbins currently.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Over great A Bailey. Who's your favorite woman right now?

Speaker 6 (01:12):
Also my favorite podcaster, Mama Miranda. She doesn't have a
real podcast, but Mam Miranda's my favorite woman of all
time all the time, because one she's my mom. I've
always been really close to my mom. She's probably listening
right now. She listens every single day. Hi Mama Randa,
shout out. But every time I'm with her, I have

(01:34):
a good time. And every time I'm with her, I recognize, Wow,
this woman listens to me talk so much, and it
just like listens all the time.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Like she better than Madison too.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
I can tell, well, if Madison's listening, probably not, then.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Well bad news Madison. Sorry, I can tell equally, yeah,
sure she does.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
My favorite woman is my mom, Mama Rnda dated.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
What about you think about that? Who?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
And who's your favorite woman right now? Mine is Alison.
I didn't have to think that long about it. My
daughter Alison. She's a wonderful mom. She's a successful business person.
She's married to a delightful human named Justin. They got
two little girls and they want to have more, and
she is just busy and exhausted, but she does it.
She's pulling through and she is and she's funny, and

(02:22):
she's sharp and she loves your dad.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Oh so, and she is my favorite woman right now.
And there's a bunch.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I love my daughter Beth, and you know, but bet
Beth is you know, Beth is old news. Beth is
older than Alison and her kids are grown up, so
she's old news.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
So she was your favorite woman out one was Yeah,
think about that.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Who is your favorite woman right now? And again, it
could have fun with it. It can be somebody like
misspac Man might be your favorite woman. What if somebody
listening is like you all, what easy? Laura Croft is my.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Favorite woman right now.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
She's got a good body, YadA yadi, Okay, so about it.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I had an interesting day yesterday. I'm in Colorado, you guys,
and you know this. I came out here because, you know,
I see the house that I grew up in and
it's kind of a cabin and it's out in the
woods and there's deer in the yard and things like that,
and it's Colorado, so it's really cool. So yesterday I said,
you know what, I got to get out of the
house and go do something. I drove to the Humane Society.

(03:21):
Don't worry, I did not get a dog. You're thinking
all the next step Dave bringing home a new dog
while my dog does.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Josie died about a week ago.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
We could go tomorrow, and I thought, I want to
go see some dogs, and so I drove down to
the Maine Society and it was it was a little
bit disappointing because you can't go into the room where
the kemels are. You can look through a window into
the room where the kemels are. I don't like. I
don't like that, but you know, but there was one dog.
It was an a husky mix, and this dog and

(03:51):
I bonded through the glass. We were like a couple
of prisoners that touch fingers up against while we're holding
the phone, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
And we were looking at each other and we were like.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
And You're like, what are you in for?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
And I thought, you know, I of course I'm not,
and I'm not going to get a part husky. Husky
needs to pull a sledge.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
I do not. I don't want a dog. What's that
kind of exercise?

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Dave two huskies in high school. I would never recommend
getting one to anyone. Unless you're a marathon runner.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Then you called my dad had a husky and he
might be one of the laziest people I had.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Really damn.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I just like to be outside.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
I mean, if you have a yard that they can
like frolic along around him.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
True, you didn't happy, but I also want to be
out there in the winter.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
And then your neighbors are going to call the cops
on you because they're upset that you let your dog
be like covered in snow, like laying out there for hours.
Their genetics. Yeah, so be prepared for that too, Dave.
If you decide to.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Never get a husky, it was a nice little experience.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I don't know. I'm not ready for a dog yet.
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
That's the thing is, like how I really love dogs
so much and I miss Josie, but I don't want
to feel like I've heard that if you get a
dog too soon, you expect that dog to be like
your old dog, And I don't want. I want my
new dog to feel like her own person or his
own person person.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
So an update, by the way, we yesterday we came
on the show and we said we raised for Joy
for Josie, like seventy seven hundred dollars. They have a
new total as of last night eighty seven hundred dollars.
So I thought that was really really good news, so
thank you again for that. It's Friday. We got War
of the Roses coming up in a few minutes. We've

(05:34):
got what's it called Mixtape Game coming up a little
bit later on this morning. Right now, though, let's take
a quick break. We'll get right into War of the Roses.
Grab your coffee, flash your teeth, it's very important. Let
your dog out, let your dog back in. We'll be
back with War of the Roses next on KDB. Just

(05:56):
want to let you know we are springing forward into
daylight saving time this weekend, so we're gonna jump. I mean,
it's basically, before you go to bed on Sunday or Monday. Wait,
before you go to bed on Saturday, you put your
clocks an hour forward and if you got to be
up for your job, but remember you will be one
hour late.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
If you don't do that. So just reminder.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
The Wall Street Journal just did a big story on
how twenty twenty five is the start of a new
generation Gen Beta. So right now, you got your boomers,
you got your millennials, you got gen X, Then you're
in the way that I do that wrong. It's boomers,
gen X, millennials gen Z. But then fourteen year olds

(06:39):
and eight year olds, what are they? They're not Gen
zen alpha, Gen alpha and now gen beta is starting now.
But people don't like it because beta is slaying for
somebody who's passive or week and it's a term gen
alpha uses to insult a lot, so they think that
it should be changed.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
I'll get over it.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Get over it, says little millennial. Cranky, old millennial, Get
over it, you dumb young kids? What is on your
phone's lock screen? On my phone's lock screen is a
picture of me and Carson taken by grand my friend
Chris at a boy Scout camp out years ago. Carson
and I are walking away from the camera and I'm
telling him a story and he's looking up. And that's
been my phone block screen for years. Jenny, what's your

(07:25):
phone block screen? Uh?

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Lock is a picture of the grand Tetons, some beautiful
flowers in it.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Dailey, mine's my speech team.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Okay, yeah, did you know thirty two percent of people
have themselves and as selfie as their own phone lock screen.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
For some reason, I find that so weird when I
see people with a picture of themselves as their lock screen,
I don't understand why cool.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
They say it's totally cool, but the other two thirds
of us say it's totally bizarre. Then basically, most people
are clarifying if it's weird, if it's just you alone, home.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
Screen is me and my mom, But like my mom's
inn it okay, not so bad.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yeah, but somebody said it's a smart way to prove
that it's your phone if it's ever lost, And that's
not really a bad point.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
If you lose your phone.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Let's say you leave it on the counter down at
Walmart and you come in and you're like, yeah, I
left my phone on the counter, Like yeah, really prove
it you and they can turn it on and hold
it up to your face and go, yep, that's you.
I don't know that that's the reason you would do it.
But okay, all right, fine, all right, we'll do Dave's
dirt coming up in a second on KTWB. Remember you're

(08:32):
never more than thirty minutes away from Kendrick and Scizzy tickets.
We found out a celebrity's real name. Millie Bobby's Brown's
name is not Millie Bobby Brown. No, we'll tell you
what it is and why she changed it. I'll find
something better. I promise it's coming up. Dave's Dirt next on,

(08:54):
kd WB hang on. All right, this is pretty reliable
because it's from Millie Bobby Brown herself talking about how
Millie Bobby Brown is not her real name.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Here she is fire, I is real.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Oh did I mess it up? I think? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (09:11):
I think might have that audio clip right now, but
we'll get it next time. We'll get it next time.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Well, I can move on. I can just read the story,
because you know, when I'm a pro and I know
how to move.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
On, I gradual.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Real name is not Millie Bobby Brown. It's Millie Bonnie Brown.
She says she changed it for poops and giggles, but
she didn't say poops.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Yeah, I get it.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
There's a story right there.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
A group of ESA Doctors want to pay somebody to
watch one thousand dollars to watch five pet movies. Suggestions
include air bud and basically. ESA Doctors is an organization
that helps people with issues related to emotional support animals,
and they want to pay you to watch pet movies.

(09:56):
So you get to watch five movies about pets and
their owners over a couple of days. Then you document
your reactions and create a blog about how Hollywood portrays
animals effects on the mental well being of animals. And
it sounds like they picked the movies their open to suggestions,
but they did list possibilities including all Dogs Go to Heaven, Beethoven,
air Bud, Secret Life of Pets, Scoob, and how to

(10:18):
Train your Dragon. And if you want to apply for it,
you can actually look for it. Just search eesa Pet
movies and you can apply for it.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
May make a thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Airbud made me cry so yes much.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
The evil coach like throws the ball at the dog
and the kid or something and I wanted to punch
him through the screen. Anyways, I'm going to sign.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Up and do it. You really love you love dogs.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
By the way, another update, we were we did a
big Joy for Josie fundraiser on Wednesday. We raised like
seventy five hundred dollars. An update as of last night,
it's now up to eighty seven hundred dollars. So you
are wonderful. Thank you for donating. If I didn't get
a chance to acknowledge your text personally, I apologize, but
we had so many people donating. We really tried our best.
But I will take this time to acknowledge you. If

(11:06):
you donated, thank you, And even if you didn't donate,
thanks for being here. We appreciate it. The Oscars have
been accused of being too white, but maybe the real
problem is there to a just check it out. This year,
the Best Actor was fifty one year old Adrian Brody,
and Best Actress was twenty five year old Mikey Madison.

(11:27):
Turned out Best Actor mostly goes to older men in Hollywood.
Best Actress tends to be young and pretty now. Brody
won the Oscar once before for The Pianist.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
He was twenty nine, and he's the.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Only person under thirty to win Best Actor. The honor
has been won thirty one times by men in their thirties,
thirty five times by men in their forties, six times
by men in their sixties. One guy got it in
his seventies, that was Henry Fonda, and Anthony Hopkins go
in his eighties. Meanwhile, the youngest Best Actress was twenty

(12:04):
one year old Marley Martin for Children of a Lesser
God thirty forty years ago. Anyway, only three women in
their fifties have won Best Actress, and nine women in
their sixties. If Hollywood is absolutely ages sex as it's everything,
it always cracks me up when I watch a movie
and here comes Harrison Ford, who is teetering on the

(12:26):
verge of death, and he's dating some woman who's just
out of college, and it's like, it's so annoying. It's like,
who makes these casting decisions? I mean, especially go back
to like the nineteen fifties. You're watching old Alfred Hitchcock
film or whatever. Here's Jimmy Stewart who is already ninety
five years old, and he's dating fourteen year old Grace Kelly,

(12:48):
and it's like, wait a second, something, this is weird here,
this is weird, you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Yeah, well, Dave, don't forget about that recent movie with
Nicole Kidman.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Oh yeah, your favorite movie. She is the oultate with
a hot young guy.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I was all for it.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
It was called Baby Baby Girl, and she was like
fifty sixty years old and she's getting her freak on
with some twenty two year old college intern and I
was all for it. I support Cougars, I support Grilf's
and I support guilt. Yeah, grils Yeah, Okay, it's like
a milf excepted to Grandma.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Oh God, I.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Got your talk about Grandpa's. Yeah, Grilf, Grilf works.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Right.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
New music Friday, you guys, let's talk about some new music.
Lady God got a new album out last night. Came
out at midnight, and this is I don't know what
song is better song, and I just play a random
one every time we do the dirt.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
This is called Garden of Eden.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Let's do it, okay. I mean it's good, it sounds
it sounds like a hit. It's another Lady God Got
hit song. So you know, we'll see what happens. Last
story Jelly Roll talking about his weight lung journey. Here's
jelly Roll.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I remembered I would watch people be so ashamed of
how big they got, celebrities, and they would go hide
and lose the weight and then pop back out like
knew me?

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Who this for me?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
It was more like no, man, I was so fat.
I have lost all of this weight. I'm gonna lose
another one hundred pounds. The best part is I was
so fat that I'm still fat.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Think about that.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I was so fat that I'm sitting on your bus
right now three hundred and seventy five pounds.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
And we're proud of me. That is kind of funny.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
I was so fat, I'm still fat after losing one
hundred pounds. Good for him, Yeah, I mean that's awesome.
That is not easy to do. I recommend Livia Weight
Control Centers because it worked for me. If I turn sideways,
you can't see me.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Oh yeah, what ways disappear?

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Where Where's Dave? Where's Dave? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
And that is the dirt brought to you by six
one two Injured Heimer and Lammer's Injury Law. We've got
an International Woman's Day winner. I think that I've got
this in my email. Did you find it, Jenny. It's
kind of a big deal.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
International Women's Day is tomorrow, so we're recognizing another woman
that somebody nominated every day and we got it right now, yes,
every hour.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
That is the winner for this hour is Natalie Evans.
She was nominated by Melvin Evans and they said that
for all that she does mean a special education teacher,
she deserves this and she gets one hundred dollars gift
card from City and County Credit Union.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
So shout out to them. Yeah, shouted up to Natalie Evans.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Hey, very nice and very cool.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Since it is an International Women's Day tomorrow, I put
on my Facebook page Dave Ryan KTWB, who's your favorite
woman right now? And it doesn't have to be anybody famous.
Bailey picked her mother, I picked my daughter, Alison. Jenny
picked a podcaster. Is something kind of fun to think about,
who's your favorite woman right now? And if they are
your favorite woman and you can call them, then maybe

(15:54):
call them. I mean, if it's Gwyneth Paltrow, she's probably
not going to accept your call. But if it's your
on Louise, then maybe give her a call and say, hey,
you're my favorite woman right now. We'll be right back
on k d w B. Anything good coming up on
the show, Jenny, Well, it's new.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
Music Friday because Gaga just released her album, So we
are going to play a brand new song from Lady
Gaga coming up, not the one we just played.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
This one is call the Vanish Into You

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Okay, and we'll be right back on k D double
