Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are doing something really special that we're quite proud of,
and that is we're broadcasting live from Children's Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Maybe you've heard us do this before.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
I think every September we get invited out for Give
to Kids Day and it's part of Shine Bright for Kids,
and it's basically it's a fundraiser because things like this
they cost money.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
They are not cheap.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
They are expensive, and we are here to help alleviate
that so families and they get the treatment that they need.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
I can't even imagine.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I mean, you know, I look at my like three
Allison's got three daughters.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
They're all healthy.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
One is about two weeks old, one is five, one
is three. And every day they get up and they
fuss and they want their cheerios and they're fussing about
this and they fight and they like you know, can't
find their backpack and whatever.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
But that is life.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
But I can't imagine that if one of them like it,
if I got a phone call and it's like, oh yeah,
one of them is very sick and has to go
in for treatment and this type of thing, it would
be It would change.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
It would rattle your world.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
It really would now everything that seemed so important, like
the Thursday night football game coming on tonight. No longer
is that important. Now, going camping or closing up the
cabin is no longer that important. So we want to
raise money for this set for Children's Minnesota. We had
a little problem with the link a little while ago,

(01:23):
but we've got it figured out now.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
It is all figured out, so we have it all updated.
Dave ryanshow dot com will probably be the easiest to
direct you too. There's going to be a picture of
the three of us here bombs back at the studio,
but you'll click on that and then it'll take you
right to a link there. Otherwise, just CHILDREN'SMN dot org.
There'll be a pop up right when you go to
their main website. So it's very simple if you want

(01:46):
to do that as well. But pretty much if you
go to any of our social media accounts, Bailey's been
posted on our Instagram story, there's things on there as well.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
I updated those so those are the correct link now
that will work. And I just donated so I know
it works.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Oh, you donated, I did good job, Thank you baby.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Eight thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Wait, why is our total only at five thousand?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
And if you're going, yeah, you know what, Okay, that's
cool they're doing that, then we didn't do our job.
Our job is to make you donate. You can't sit
there and say, well, that's cool they're doing that. Other
people will donate. That other person is you. You can
make a difference, and I know that we're always looking
for ways to make a difference in our lives, whether

(02:30):
we volunteer, whether we coach our kids' softball team, or
whether we're a boy scout, girl Scout leader, whatever, we
want to make a difference. Here's a way you can
make a difference, and it doesn't take more than a
minute or two of your time to donate. Please be generous.
Dave ryanshow dot com and just click on the link
and you can donate right there and we'll have the
update totally coming up in a second. Doing fun stuff

(02:52):
here too. It's time for the throwback threesome on kd
WB eighty.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Sit throw that threesus in the radio way Dave Right Show.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah on kat W let's go back to twenty fifteen.
Twenty fifteen was ten years ago already, you guys. Let's
go to the TV shows. Number three TV show was
the Goldbergs. Number two was elementary and number one no surprise.
Ten years ago, Game of Thrones sold.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
We never met on the field, so Barrista, I says
my wife.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I don't think the Widow's Life.

Speaker 7 (03:25):
Was shoot.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Good too, honist.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Okay, let's go to the movies. Some of these you'll
remember and some you won't. Some were quite forgettable. Number
three The Intern, number two, May's Runner, the Sports Trials,
and number one did anybody see this movie Hotel Transylvania two?
It was number one?

Speaker 8 (03:46):
What's wrong with the classes we have here? Like the
kids yoga?

Speaker 7 (03:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (03:54):
This is Denissevich's home.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
All right, let's get right into the music. This is
on ten years ago. In twenty fifteen. Number three song
was this one.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
What do You Duo? Was this song for the weekend,
And the Weekend also had.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
The number one song on this date in twenty fifteen
year old or heck, you're healthy, twenty seven year old,
or maybe you don't have a kid. You just want
to do it for kids that are healthy, or don't
you know whatever, But yeah, but I'd love to do
I'm basically gonna whatever I have to bribe you with. Yeah,
if I have to come over and shampoo your carpet. I
will come over and shampoo your carpet. If that's what

(04:34):
it takes to get a donation out of you. Send
me your a dress.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
I'm and it.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Come over with a like a sponge mop, and some
like a vacuum, and with them like I have a
zero rev carpets.

Speaker 8 (04:44):
You don't use a sponge mop for it.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Absolutely use a sponge Let me know you're wrong, young lady,
because when I had was a kid, we had a
green shag carpeting. We couldn't afford zero res. I had
to spray glory rug cleaner and then sponge mop the
carpet clean.

Speaker 8 (04:59):
I bet felt good on your tozies though.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
A green show, Oh so good.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Remember the carpet guy sold it to my dad, going
take your shoes off, go and step on that, and
you're like, it's.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
A great barefoot feeling.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
It is a great barefoot field. I remember as grossed
out of my dad's bare feet.

Speaker 8 (05:14):
Great barefoot you were grossed up?

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Can get me off topic so much, I don't know
what was.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Like bringing up the fact, well, you're gonna shampoo a
bunch of people as the carpet.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, yeah, okay, So make a donation then text me
at Katie WB one and we'll give you a shout out.
Go to Dave ryanshow dot com link for Children's Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's very important.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
We'll talk more about that in a second back with
more of the throwback threesome coming up next.

Speaker 7 (05:38):
WB.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Hey, I'm so happy to hear we got some shout
outs from people donating in honor of their healthy kids,
or maybe they have a sick niece or whatever. You
know what, I'm gonna make a donation in a little while.
She's not really a child anymore. She turned Bella. She
turned twenty three yesterday, but she's been sick and struggling
for I don't know, three or four years something like that.
And she's a friend of the show and she is

(05:59):
a bright light and she is wonderful and it makes
me tear up a little bit. Bella should be out dating, drinking,
causing trouble.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah, she still dates drinking.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Well, No, she should be out dating and drinking and
causing trouble. And she should be like, you know, doing
things that are you know, moderately illegal, like get in
a bar fight, things like that. And Bella has been
struggling with her health and and so I'm gonna make
a donation and honor of Bella. Here's one I made it.
This says from Angie. I made a donation in honor

(06:30):
of my kids, Lexi and Austin. I got two healthy kids.
I can't even begin to imagine something happening to them.
Thank you so much, Katie, w'd for doing this one.
And here's Rowan. Rowan says, I just donated because my
son Jonah is healthy. Thank you for doing this every year.
That is what we're doing today is raising money for
Children's Minnesota. We do this every year. Yeah, and we're

(06:51):
trying to get to twenty five thousand dollars.

Speaker 9 (06:53):
Now.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I don't really know where we were. We had a
little hiccup with the donation platform that works.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Now we got we gotta reevaluate and come back and
we'll give you an update shortly. But right now I
feel like because the first hour was a little because
of the link issues, we're back up and running and
we'll be good and we'll be getting like I'm rooting
for way more money than we ever had before.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Well, let's hope.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
So so I know how generous you can be and
we have the most caring listeners. I mean we meet people.
I go watch Rogers Rescue Ride and I just meet
these wonderful, warm hearted people who love the show. Not
just because I'm particularly you know, charismatic, which I'm very
funny also, but because we're just you know, they just
sense that good in the show.

Speaker 8 (07:34):
Baily, have you seen any chrisma today?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
I feel like it's actually kind of lacking. But you know,
we need more.

Speaker 8 (07:40):
We need more.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I love you. I'll get my ukulele and that'll leave
with blah blah blah.

Speaker 10 (07:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
So anyway, we're gonna get back into throwback threesome. But
if you can take a moment to go online Dave
ryanshow dot com, tap the link and then make a donation.
And if you want to give us a shout and
give a shout out to your kids because they're healthier,
you just want to make it anonymous or whatever, that's fine.
But if you want to do a shout out, send
me a text to kd WB one and please be
as generous as you can.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
And also, if you are driving right now and you're
not gonna remember anything we're saying of wharry to donate.
You can text us because you'll probably know the texting
number and we'll just send you the link directly.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Yeah, yeah, okay, That short coat is five three nine
two one. Back into the throwback threesome on KTWB.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Throwback, it's a throwbacks in the radio show.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Yeah on kt w B all the way back in
twenty ten. What were you doing this time of the
year in twenty ten? Were you in school? Were you married?
Were you getting your first divorce? Were you having a berber?
Let's go to TV shows back in twenty ten. Number
three was one of my favorite shows of that era,
My Super Sweet Sixteen remember that one?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Oh god, I loved that.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Were the top spoiled girls with their Sweet sixteen? Dexter
was number two and this show was number one.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
Glead me.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
You told my summer surgery.

Speaker 8 (09:00):
You have a surgery when you get your appendix.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Now you got a boob get surgery.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
You can't hit me, Sure I can't unless you got
yourself knocked up again?

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Whoa Lovely stupid, so delvicious movies? Catfish was number three,
Number two was You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger,
and number one movie was Waiting for Superman A.

Speaker 11 (09:26):
Child that doesn't finish high school will earn less and
be eight times more likely to go.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
To prison one of those school.

Speaker 11 (09:32):
For these kids, their only chance at getting into a
great school depends on whether they're number is picked in
a lottery.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Wow, you've never seen that movie doc Let's go to KATWDB.
Songs on KATWB that were big in twenty ten. Number
three Dynamite, such a great song. Number two was Eminem
and Rihanna Gone. And number one on KDWB on this

(10:03):
date in twenty ten. Do you remember waking up to
this CDWB. It is Katie Perry and that is the
number one song from exactly fifteen years ago today on
the Throwback Threesome, We're are we gonna finish up the
Throwback Threesome. We're gonna get We're gonna do that first,
Let's finish.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Up real quick, and then we're gonna jump into some
interviews with some amazing people here at children.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
We had a lot of stuff going on.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
We're broadcasting from Children's Minnesota and we are raising money
and we were making a plea to help out with
all the programs that they do and help out the
families that come here and the kids that come here,
and the staff and all the wonderful work they do.
But in the meantime, before we get to that, we're
gonna wrap up the throwback threesome by going back twenty years.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Twenty years.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
You guys to two thousand and five, number three TV
show without a Trace, Number two, The Wire, and everybody
was watching the number one TV show.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Law What year were you born for? Year nineteen thirty one,
forty six? Yeah? Yes, Sam, so you fought in the
Korean War. There's no such thing.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Watched that show because I only ever saw a couple
episodes here and there.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Bailey, we will talk about lost time. Don't watch it.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
It is the least satisfying ending of any TV show.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
What have I just watched a handful of seasons and
then quit.

Speaker 8 (11:29):
There's so many seasons, Oh.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
There's like six.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
They milked that show un till there was nothing left
in milk. Ay, let's go to the movies in the megaplexes.
Number three was Transporter to number two, the classic The
Forty year Old Virgin, and number one was this thriller
Emily Only Rowe assisted the demons, but at the hospital
they overcame her.

Speaker 11 (11:53):
So she believed that her actual possession began that night
at the hospital.

Speaker 8 (11:58):
Yeah, I hate it. The exercise movie is never ever
ever watched that.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Carson and I saw that one and it was awesome.
All right, let's go to songs on kt w B.
Number three song on kt W to be exactly twenty
years ago today, Missy Elliott. Okay, that was number two
numbers to the number three, number two, this classic from

(12:27):
Pussycat Dolls, and the number one song on this date
exactly twenty years ago? Was this one one of Maria
Carrey's last number one songs, if not her last number
one song? We Belonged Together twenty years ago, number one
on the throwback three overry, I get well, I got

(12:48):
excited because we're going to talk to a music therapist
here at Children's and where where?

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Come on over here?

Speaker 8 (12:55):
Erin, Aaron, get over here.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
It's all very casual. We're live on the radio right now.
Oh here, let me get where's your there's your microphone?
Just grab that right there. And you don't really need
the headphones, but you can put them on if you want.
How are you, Aaron?

Speaker 12 (13:06):
I am great. It's so nice to see you this morning.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Thanks for getting up early. You were here with us
last year. How long have you been doing music therapy
here at children's It's.

Speaker 13 (13:14):
Hard to believe, but I celebrated my fifteen year anniversary
in April.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
They take you out to Beni Hannah.

Speaker 13 (13:22):
They actually let me pick from a catalog of awesome things.
I got a really nice Kate's paid bag.

Speaker 8 (13:28):
Oh my.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Right, don't you to be asking for that for your anniversary.

Speaker 8 (13:33):
I'm writing it down, writing it down.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Tell me the importance of music therapy with the with
the kids, and and the healing power of music.

Speaker 13 (13:42):
Yeah, music is just I mean, we all, I think
all of us who are in music for a living
just know the power that music has to connect people
and to you know, bring people into to their feelings.
And you know, we all know how hearing a song
that we love or that's our favorite song can just
bring us joy.

Speaker 12 (14:00):
And it can it can.

Speaker 13 (14:03):
I always think of I think of Miley Cyrus, put
my hands up there playing.

Speaker 12 (14:07):
My song and the butterflies fly away.

Speaker 13 (14:09):
Right, That's what it is. When kids come into the
hospital and they are you know, they're hearing their music.
It takes away some of those nerves and some of
that that hard things that their experience, and.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
It's probably called it kind of an all ages thing
because I've got kid of my Allison's daughters are like
very young and they like songs like okay, Twinkle Twinkle,
but they love the freaking wheels on the bus. So
it'll i mean two chords and it's like it'll appeal
to little kids who want to sing wheels on the bus,
but it appeals to all ages. So if you're dealing

(14:40):
with a fifteen year old also.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
Absolutely yeah, yeah, yes.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
So do you go up to their rooms and play
or how does it all work?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
I do?

Speaker 13 (14:48):
Yeah, most of the sessions that I do are individual
music therapy sessions, so just with the patient and their family.
We try to involve families as much as possible because
music is good for everybody, right, So most of it
is individual. Actually, on Thursday mornings, we have a chance
to do a group and we get all the kids
who are able to come out to the playroom and

(15:08):
make music together. And let me tell you, that is
probably some of my favorite memories of working at this
hospital because there is nothing more amazing than getting out
you know, the big parachute like you had it, yes, BC, Yeah, yeah,
you're right, like bouncing balls off it and singing you know,
a favorite song and everyone is laughing, and you know,

(15:30):
the balls are flying everywhere, and you know kids ivy
poles are getting tangled in the parachute.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
And I'm like, so for a few minutes, I mean,
for a few minutes or whatever, the kids and their
families can experience the joy of music rather than another
session or another appointment.

Speaker 12 (15:48):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, well thanks for what you do, erin And of
course things like this, you know, they need to be funded,
and people like Aarin and people that you know that
work with her, all of this costs money. You know,
Aarin would do this for free if you could. But
everything is you know, everything from the playrooms to the parachutes,
to the balls to the ukuleles, they all need to

(16:11):
be funded. So we are raising money. Part of what
we're raising money for is music therapy, yes exactly.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
So you can go to Dave Brianshow dot com and
there's a link right at the top of the page
that you can click on to donate. You can also
go to any of our social media pages. We've got
it linked on our Instagram stories and our posts all
of that. But CHILDREN'SMN dot org slash give is sorry,
children'smm dot org. There's gonna be a pop up and
you're gonna click on that too. Otherwise, it's probably just

(16:38):
easier if you just go to our website day bryanshow
dot com and.

Speaker 8 (16:41):
You'll get it.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
And I just have to say, Aarin comes and talks
to us pretty much every year, and she is just
like such a bright light when she walks in, and
it's people like her that this money helps fund, like
the activities that the kids get to do here at
Children's and just seeing her walk in this morning, and
she's smiling from ear to ear, and that's what I
imagine the kids get to see every single day.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Because music makes her so happy. Guess what, Pull out
your ukulele aeron, because Bailey's gonna direct us in a song, sure,
and she's gonna give us the chord progression and Bailey's
gonna sing it, and we're gonna play this song.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Okay, okay, it goes see C C C C C.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Okay, so a minor.

Speaker 8 (17:26):
F G.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
That's it, just over and over goo see gives the
count and see them sure c C C C C
C A minor A minor f F f F F
F G G g G seven. What's that play? And
on the radio? Why do I start swinging to and fro?

(17:51):
I have never heard that song before, but bye, don't
hear it anymore. It's still from mill Your to me sends.

Speaker 12 (18:01):
A thrill right through me because those chords.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Remind me of the night that I first fell in
love to those magic changes.

Speaker 8 (18:12):
My harder nges a melody.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
That's never the same melody that's calling your name. It
begs you please come.

Speaker 9 (18:25):
Back to me.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, please return to me.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Don't go away again.

Speaker 8 (18:33):
That's what I got.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Look at that. Wow, yay, very nice.

Speaker 8 (18:45):
That was so good.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
We should actually talk to someone who's on the phone
right now. Good yeah, because this actually has a tie
in with Aaron being on with us. Aaron, you should
put your headphones on though now so you can hear
what's happening.

Speaker 8 (18:57):
But Von's got Lisa on the phone. I believe.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Hello, Lesha, Hi, Hi, welcome to Katie oldb. What's up?

Speaker 7 (19:07):
Thanks for having us Aaron. I have Hailey in the
car with me and we heard your voice and instantly
started smiling because you helped Haylee with Haley with her
cancer journey when you guys wrote that song.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Tell me about this.

Speaker 13 (19:24):
This is absolutely amazing because as I was thinking about
what I was going to talk about on the radio
this morning, I was thinking about you, Hailey and the.

Speaker 12 (19:33):
Song that you wrote.

Speaker 13 (19:35):
And Hailey is an absolutely incredible young woman, and she
is quite a songwriter, quite a dancer, and she wrote
this song that has stuck with me four I mean years.

Speaker 12 (19:49):
How long ago was that that you wrote that song?

Speaker 7 (19:52):
Two years?

Speaker 12 (19:54):
Two years ago? That's what I thought.

Speaker 13 (19:56):
And so this song has stuck in my head because
she had all the like amazing description of how difficult
it was to fight cancer. And one of the most
impactful lines I remember is, yes, I am scared and
I don't want to lose my hair. Let me tell
you something, life ain't there. Cancer sucks and that's the
bottom line. Wow, And no I'm not fine. And it

(20:16):
just that has stuck with me forever because it was
such an incredible expression of how difficult it is to
have cancer.

Speaker 12 (20:23):
And Haley, you put that, you put that into words.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
How old are you?

Speaker 7 (20:29):
Haley Golow.

Speaker 10 (20:33):
Twelve twelve, okay twelve, And this.

Speaker 7 (20:36):
Was her second bone marrow transplant and it was the
second one in like three years, she was going to
have and she was old enough to know the difference,
and so to have Aaron be able to let her
take what she was feeling on the inside and like
get it out in a way that made sense to

(20:57):
Haley was life changing.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
That is amazing. Wow, Haley, that is a That is
such a huge thing. And Mom, what is what is
mom's name? Lisa? Lisa, I don't and if you don't
want to talk about this right now, but I want
to ask you what was what was the the moment
or the you know, I'm going to guess that Haley

(21:23):
probably just didn't feel good and was run down, and
maybe you thought it was the flu or something, and
then you get the diagnosis.

Speaker 7 (21:32):
That's kind of exactly what happened both times. The first
time they said it was like a sinus infection and
maybe bone maro suppression, and six weeks later we were
doing a bone marrow biopsy during COVID, finding out she
was going to have a transplant for aplastic anemia. And

(21:52):
then the second one, three years later, she had just
competed in dance nationals and came back and yeah and
they yeah, she had missed a little bit of fourth
grade because she had handfoot in mouth, which little kids
get that she was a little kid because of transplants,
and she ended up having answered something they thought would

(22:16):
never happen because she had already had the transplant.

Speaker 11 (22:18):
One.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Yeah, and what a shock because I mean in fourth
grade she should have been, you know, trying out for
the school musical and you know, being on the soccer
team and things like that. And I think that's one
of the impactful things that we try to communicate is
that life is just going on and it's normal day
to day, not mundane, but it's just its routine. And

(22:40):
then something like this turned your world.

Speaker 7 (22:43):
Around, right, Yeah, everybody else's life kept moving and ours
stuff and went into isolation, is the best way we.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
Can describe it.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Well, I hope and wish for nothing but the best
for Haley and you. And thanks for sharing your story.
And I just love that you heard this here on
the radio. Where are you off?

Speaker 10 (23:07):
Yeah, yeah, I'm dropping off at middle school and then
I'm headed to my first grade classroom.

Speaker 7 (23:13):
But we heard Aaron's voice and we were like, oh,
that's her.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Oh my god, you hear that lovely singing by Bailey
on the radio.

Speaker 10 (23:24):
I did.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
Actually it was great.

Speaker 10 (23:25):
Okay, yeah, Aaron, we are.

Speaker 7 (23:27):
Still fighting for you to get your own music therapy room.
Helius has not given up on that yet.

Speaker 13 (23:33):
Oh you children, and get the room.

Speaker 7 (23:41):
He should have a room. We don't want to be
in the same room as the where we see the doctors.
This is our happy time.

Speaker 8 (23:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (23:48):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Well Lisa, have a great day. Thanks for calling in.
Sorry I took so much of your time, but it
was really you bat and thank you. Have a great day,
both of you and Aarin. Thanks for all that you do.
We really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Bye Lisa, Bye Haley, Bye Hailey.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
By Lisa, Bye, and thank you Erin. Hopefully that'll maybe
touch your heart a little bit. You have a soft heart.
Maybe that's what it took for you to make a donation.
Maybe you don't know anybody who's gone to children's Maybe
you don't have many kids of your own. Maybe you
are just so blessed that your kid continues to go
to dance and to go to soccer and things like that.
Make a donation because that's what we are here for.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Yes, you're going to go to day bryanshow Dot com.
There's a link right at the top of the page.
You'll see all of our faces on it, and you're
going to click on that and you'll donate right there. Otherwise,
if you just want to type in Children's mn dot org,
there's going to be a pop up that shows up
right away as well if you want to do that.
And last, you can text us if you have no
idea what I just said and just sit straight up,
ask me, hey, can you send me the link? And

(24:48):
we will directly send you the link through our texting
system because we have a lot of people who love
to text in.

Speaker 8 (24:53):
So katiewb one.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
For that, Bailey, was that kind of your dream to
be able to sing on the radio on that?

Speaker 8 (24:58):
No?

Speaker 2 (24:58):
No, it wasn't that.

Speaker 8 (24:59):
No beautiful.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
I think we're going right into War of the Roses.

Speaker 8 (25:06):
We are going right into it.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yes, yeah, War the Roses on Katie WB. And then
we'll get right back into fundraising and we'll do that
in a second. Basically, Cody's been dating Stephanie for six
months and she's an Instagram influencer. But there's something weird
going on that he wonders. Is he the only one?
We'll find out right now, War of the Roses brought

(25:28):
to you by Ovo, Lesig and Lenz on kd w B.
He loves me, He loves me not only one way
to find out War of the Roses.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
On kd WB.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Insecurity, you guys can be an ugly thing, and today
on War of the Roses, I am not judging you, Cody,
but there's maybe a little bit of insecurity with the
girl that you've been seeing, and that's why we're here
on War of the Roses. So let's find out. Cody,
tell me what's going on with Stephanie?

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Is that right? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (26:04):
Yeah, yeah, I want to check this out.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Cody doesn't even live here, but he listens to War
of the Roses. That's right.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
I listening to you guys on my heart radio.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
No, look at that. Appreciate you set us as a
pre set on.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
So tell me a little bit about Stephanie and the
little bit of insecurity.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (26:22):
Well, Stephanie is great, you know, I mean honest, i'd
be greatest.

Speaker 6 (26:27):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
She's actually a really popular Instagram influencer and we've been
together for about six months.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Can you say influencer? How many followers does she have? Oh?

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Man, I would say, she has like more than one
hundred thousand.

Speaker 8 (26:41):
Followers, like a couple of thousand, and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
That's pretty big. Yeah, that's pretty big. Okay.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
And then without about and I'm always taking photos and
you know, uh like photo ops for her everywhere we go,
and her outfits and stuff like that.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
So what kind of influencing does she do?

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Oh? Well, she does like a passion influencing. Okay, even
has like some sponsors or whatever that that send her
clothes and stuff, and you know. But the thing is
the problem that I have is she never post photos
of the two of us.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
And I will tell you this, you sound very devastatingly handsome.
I know you can't always tell from somebody's voice, but
you sound devastatingly handsome.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
It takes one to know one.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
And I'm gonna write sure, And I'm going to also
guess that if you're going out with Stephanie, you probably
don't dress like you just walked out of a garage sale.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
You probably dress pretty nice.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
No, no, no, She would never let me out of the
house if I wasn't dressed though.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Okay, okay, good so, but you're concerned that she never
puts you in any of the photos.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Yeah, that's right. There's like no presence of me on
her Instagram at all.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Do you know if she ever used to post previous boyfriends?

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (27:57):
No, actually, And I've gone back and looked, and I
that is a good point. Not seen any previous boy
But I feel like once.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
They broke up, though, she'd probably go and archive those posts,
so I understand why you can't see them.

Speaker 14 (28:08):
I don't think it's necessarily an insecurity I used to
ask my girlfriend i Lista the same thing. But Alyssa
also just has like three posts on her Instagram, so
it's not abnormal for her to not post anything.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I also think that influencers do the whole hard launch thing,
so it could be like a build up of like,
eventually she's gonna post you so she can get like
a ton of like, so maybe she's gonna start soft
launching you soon. Has she done anything where like your
hand is in something?

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Oh no, none of that. And we, like I said,
we've been together for six months, so I know, I'm
a little worried that. You know, either she's just completely
keeping me like a nonexistent person in her life so
that he has other opportunities or maybe.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Like kind of like, oh, look at me, I'm single. Yeah,
because maybe she's kind of constantly looking over your shoulder
to see if there's anybody else there.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
And I don't want to make you more insecure, Cody,
even though you don't really sound insecure. But if she's
got that many followers, I'm assuming she's an attractive person
and she does fashion stuff, there's probably a lot of
people in her dms, because like, that's just how social
media works.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Way not to make it. George, Yeah, thanks, Jenny, Yeah,
you're a big help.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
Okay, But yeah, I guess if her like public persona
is look at me, I'm a beautiful, gorgeous fashion single girl,
then yeah, I understand where the insecurity comes from.

Speaker 14 (29:31):
But I will say six months is not a long time.
I think, Bailey, it's a long time.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I think that's a long time.

Speaker 8 (29:38):
I did both my last relationship for like eight months.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
What.

Speaker 8 (29:41):
Yeah, Oh man.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
It's a big No, it is a big deal because
they ever's like, oh, look at you. You and Brian
look so cute together. All right, So here's what we
can do. We can call Stephanie and you know, we're
not going to offer her roses but what we do
is offer a date night out at like aristaycation or
at a hotel for a weekend or something, and then
we at the name of you know her and the
name of the person she wants to bring along. The

(30:05):
clear choice should be you, Cody, and we'll see who
she chooses in just a second, can.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
You hang on?

Speaker 7 (30:13):
Spoiler alert, someone's about to get exposed.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Part two of Where.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
The Roses starts right now on one on one point
three Katie WB. Basically, she's an influencer and she does
like fashion, and she'll go out to different places and
to take pictures. And he's wondering, why am I never
in any of the pictures? Am I just like a photographer?
Is there a bunch of guys that you're seeing? So
we're gonna call her and see if we offered her

(30:39):
a weekend away somewhere like a staycation, would she choose
to go with him or with a girlfriend or with
some other guy. And the funny thing is they don't
live here, so she has no idea what this is
all about. Making the call right now on Katie WBSTO.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Stephanie, thanks for doing that with me today. So we
actually have this special offer going on where we are
offering everyone taking the survey a staycation, and we had
partnered with for this one. So what I'm gonna need
from you versus I have the reservation it's for two people,
and I have your information, but I'll need to know
who you're gonna bring with you for your plus one.

Speaker 10 (31:24):
Oh okay, yeah, I'm gonna bring Cody. Do you need books?

Speaker 9 (31:29):
Do you need last name Cody?

Speaker 8 (31:32):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Perfect, I got it down for Cody's. That works great.

Speaker 8 (31:36):
And then we're just gonna have to figure out some dates.
Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Well, no, you don't.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
You don't have figure out anything at all, because let
me let me tell you what's really going on here.
You don't live here in Minneapolis, but that's where we're
actually calling from. And why say we This is a
radio station called Katie WB and we're in Minneapolis.

Speaker 9 (31:58):
Yes, okay, this is an No, it's I'll explain it
to you.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
It's it's not a survey, but it's it's it's we
are trying to glean some information because we were trying
to figure out who you would want to go on
this little staycation with to find out if you would
choose your boyfriend Cody, and you did. You chose Cody,
so that's good news. Let me okay, let me explain

(32:23):
a little bit more. No, it's not a prank. It's
it's real, but it's kind of a prank in a way.
First of all, let me tell you this. If everything's okay,
your boyfriend Cody is actually on the phone, Say hi Cody, okay,
can you hear him?

Speaker 8 (32:38):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (32:39):
I can so he Cody actually listens to our show,
even though you guys don't live here because we I
don't know he likes our show.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
But he wanted to try to see if you would
pick him for this staycation because he was a little
bit insecure.

Speaker 9 (32:58):
Why would I not pick him?

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Why you would feel a little bit insecure?

Speaker 5 (33:04):
Well, I've never seen and I'm sorry. I mean, I'm
glad you picked me, and you know I'm happy about that.
But I've been together six months and you've never even
mentioned me or put me in your Instagram. I know
You've got a lot of followers and everything, and I
just feel like you were trying to hide me or something.
And you know, I was a little worried. How do

(33:25):
I Howdy, Dave?

Speaker 9 (33:26):
I thought that we kind of like talked about this.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
What did you say? What what did you guys talk about? Yeah?

Speaker 9 (33:33):
Okay, okay, well.

Speaker 8 (33:36):
Listen.

Speaker 10 (33:37):
So I do social media, like I that's my job.
I am an influencer, you know, like I do brand deals.
I have a following and that's you know, so.

Speaker 9 (33:51):
Listen. I I I think you are handsome, but you're
we You're not conventional attractive, do you know? Like I'm
not saying that's a mean because I think.

Speaker 10 (34:05):
You're gorgeo babe like I do. But I just don't
think my followers are going to see what I'm seeing.

Speaker 9 (34:13):
And I just think that they're going to.

Speaker 10 (34:15):
Be like they're interactive, you know, like I have a
connection with them. That's my community, and they're going to
be like, why are you dating this guy? So like
I just don't want you to see pet like I
want to protect you.

Speaker 9 (34:26):
You know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 10 (34:27):
It's not about you, I swear.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
No, I I don't know what you mean.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
You know that you say I'm you say I'm attractive,
but I'm not attractive or your followers won't find me attractive.

Speaker 9 (34:42):
Well, it's like an aesthetic thing. My Instagram has like
a very specific aesthetic and like, that's what people are
following me for. And as much as we have so
much fun together and I love spending time with.

Speaker 10 (34:58):
You, babe, you know that you we have something.

Speaker 9 (35:01):
But that's that's not part of it. It's like what
your your look is not the same as what is
on my Instagram. And I just think it's going to
be unfortunate when people are saying stuff that you don't
want to see anything.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Who believes her she is she justified in saying I don't.

Speaker 8 (35:18):
Think the controls out there.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
So I get we controls all the time too.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Yeah, so I do get that part of it. However,
I don't think you want to tell the person you're
dating that you're not conventionally attractive and that people aren't
going to find you attractive if you think he's attractive.

Speaker 10 (35:34):
I do, I do. I'm just like, I don't know
how else.

Speaker 9 (35:37):
To explain that. I mean, like you guys have seen
aesthetic accounts while they follow it.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
No, you're right, let's face it.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
There we all know a couple where they're a little
bit mismatched. And even though you might, I'm sticking up
for her because even though she finds him. I've dated
like Julie was way too attractive for me. Susan's way
too attractive for me, but they like me anyway. And
I think, what's what's going on here is she doesn't

(36:04):
want to put him on blast if he goes on Instagram.
It's like, ah, it's my boyfriend Cody. And then some
idiot's gonna be like, yeah, he looks like he's uglier
in a mud fence.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Yeah, but still, I mean Selena Gomez post Benny Blanco
all the.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Time, he looks like a goldfish. Yeah, he's ditty Blanco though,
And what happens, what happens? You just called me, he said,
he looks like a goldfish. Right, That's why I get it.
I'm on your side. That's why she doesn't do it.

Speaker 7 (36:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 10 (36:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (36:30):
And also like I wish I was Selena Gome's level.

Speaker 10 (36:33):
I'm like not quite there yet. I'm hoping to be,
but like.

Speaker 9 (36:37):
People could be even more mean, and I have like
Wes's defense.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
You know, a lot of people are via text saying,
you know what, she's an influencer that makes her Instagram
a business page. When guys are looking at girls in
their fashion where they don't want to see a random boyfriend.
I don't post any personal political stuff on my business page,
only stuff that's gonna make me money. I'm on her
side on this one. I have been personally. Another one,

(37:03):
this text says, unfortunately, female influencers lose followers when they
post that they have a partner. If this is their
only source of income, and it sounds like it is,
I can understand why she might not post him.

Speaker 5 (37:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
I kind of understand that to an extent too, because
when I became single again, I feel like suddenly people
were way more interested in my life, whereas when I
was naked, they were like, I forget her.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
I mean a lot of people too, are like saying, oh,
she's so vain, she's awful trash. But it's it's interesting
because this one, it's either you don't like her or
you're like, well, you don't bring your boyfriend to work,
so why would you bring your boyfriend to work if
you're an in.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Good point, I totally am on her side.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Needs to just start her own page that isn't influencer page.
It's just for like family and friends, like close family
and friends. So then she can share her boyfriend and
then maybe that's the in between.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Yes, we're broadcasting live from Children's Minnesota this morning, raising money.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
And if you've enjoyed War of the Roses, hey, it's free.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
It's free to listen to and we're gonna start charging
admission just for today in the form of out donations. So,
if you enjoy War of the Roses, if you listened
to it since you were a kid, If you listened
to War the Roses, you love Nick the Stoner, you
love Ronnie g If you listened in the on the
way to school with your mom, and now you listen
with your own kids, please make a donation. Because whatever

(38:22):
it takes to motivate you to donate for Children's Minnesota.
We've talked about all the wonderful work they do. We
talked to me it was kind of just a crazy happening.
A while ago. We were talking on the phone with
we were playing music with one of the music therapists, Aaron,
and Aaron got a phone call from Lisa and her mom.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Haley. Haley is twelve.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Haley is the daughter, right and okay, right and then so, Haley,
when she was in fourth grade, was diagnosed with a
serious bone cancer. Had to have a bone cancer, a
bone marrow transplant and she happened to be listening and
she went to Children's and it has changed her life.
And so what we want to do is inspire you
in whatever way it takes to make a donation. And

(39:03):
one of the ways we'll do it is to say, hey,
war the Roses is free, but if you want to
like slip a little something into donations, you can make
a donation right now.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Yeah, go ahead, go to Dave Ryanshow dot com and
click on the link right at the top of the
page and it'll direct you to where you can go
or if you want to remember this website, it's just
Children's m N dot org. But pretty much any of
our social media accounts. If you don't already follow us,
follow us and then you can go on there and
we have all the information listed on there as well.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
Yeah, and you can text us in at five three
nine two one. That's katiewb one and I will send
you the link directly to your phone if you want
to do it that way as well.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
But we got i mean a bunch of people from
Patty to Cookie to Row and even Juanita. Juanita said
she was donating in honor of her kids, healthy kids,
ren and stimpy, she called them.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
I'm really sure what that's, whether that's true.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
I'm gonna be flat out honest with you because that's
just kind of I can't help. But I usually am
pretty honest with you. And we're way behind on donations,
and I'm not really sure why that is. People are
no less generous this year than they were a year ago,
but for whatever reason, we are way behind on donations.
We had hoped to be a twenty five thousand by now,
and we're just short of three thousand. So what we

(40:14):
want to do is get to twenty five thousand at least,
because then we'll get a donation from Prime Therapeutics to
match that. But it's not going to get the match
unless we get to twenty five thousand. So if you
can be generous and do one hundred dollars, some people listening,
maybe you can do one thousand dollars. This is such
a great cause. There are so many great causes out there,
but I think one of the greatest causes that we

(40:36):
can ever help is children. I mean, we're big pet
charity people and we do that all the time, and
we've done the climb for the cure for cystic fibrosis,
and we've done the walk for this, and we've done
the fundraiser for that, and we do Christmas Wish, but
children is one of the most important things that we
can ever help out. So please make a donation, and

(40:57):
please be generous because we are literally embarrassingly far behind on.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Donations right now.

Speaker 8 (41:03):
Yes, but we're not giving up.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
We still have a long show ahead of us and
it's going to be great, and we're going to entertain
you to hopefully convince you to donate to us.

Speaker 8 (41:13):
I always say we are I always like to say that.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
Just think about how much you spent on your Starbucks
coffee every single day. If you can donate that amount
one time today, imagine how much money we could get
for everyone going through a Starbucks drive through or a
Caribou drive through right now.

Speaker 8 (41:28):
That's you know.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Some drinks are like seven dollars nowadays that could go
to children's We will take any amount, obviously. If you
have the means to donate one hundred dollars, that's fantastic.
But some people don't have the means and they could
donate just their coffee today.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Absolutely, if you round it up to ten dollars and
ten people did that. Well, now we got one hundred dollars.
So I know that there are more than ten people
who are listening that go to Starbucks or Cariboo every
single day. So make a donation and be generous, and
maybe you know what, you don't have to skip your
coffee today. It's just another ten dollars that you throw
in there. Dave ryanshow dot com. Click on the link.

(42:04):
If you don't have the link, you can text us
at KDWB one and we will send it directly to you.
So please donate. We want to get that match for
twenty five thousand dollars. We'll have an updated.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
Total four you.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
In a second, we're gonna play a Jonas Brother's song.
And the reason I'm going to play a Jona's Brother's
song is because I'm going to give you Jonas Brothers
tickets right now.

Speaker 2 (42:26):

Speaker 1 (42:28):
