Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, DISTRACTO moment here in the studio because somebody brought
puppies in.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
So Jenny right now is on a camera Dave Ryan
TV on YouTube holding is that scone or waffle?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
That scone?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Bailey is holding waffle on another camera here. I wanted
to hold a dog. I didn't get a chance to
Chelsea take it right away. Who's going to do the speaking?
Who's is that?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Could be you?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Kristin go over there and grab a stand by a
microphone because I'm so proud of the show. We did
something great for kids yesterday and we raised about ninety
what I say, ninety two thousand dollars yesterday for children's Minnesota.
Today we're doing something completely different, and that is a
pet charity. Christin, tell me what your charity is. Give
me a little thumbnail elevator pitch.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
So I founded Rescue Network in twenty nineteen after adopting
my dog and seeing the need for help on Native
American reservations, specifically in South Dakota. So this year we
are projecting to adopt out roughly eighteen hundred dogs.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Whoa wow, eighteen dogs and cats wow.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yeah, and then around a million dollars in just vetting expenses.
So a lot of the dogs and cats we get
come with zero vetting, zero background, so they specifically need
more than just basic you know vetting, spainooter shots. A
lot of them can get hit by a car.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
X y Z.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
So our mission is just you know, helping the animals
from the start and finding them there forever home and
then getting them all the care between. And we can
do all of that by donations.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
And that's why we're doing much tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
And you and I and Chelsea and all of our
hundreds of friends with four legs are going to be
out there tomorrow at Trap Farm Park in Egan.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
You got it, it's in Egan, right ye? What time
will we get there?
Speaker 4 (02:04):
So registration is from nine to nine forty five in
the walk or run, do whatever you want to do,
it's not that competitive, starts at ten and then we
will have the vendors there from nine until one, and
of course stay will be there for a little bit.
We have some really fun vendors. We have the Waffle
Bar food truck. We have Twin Cities caricatures which will
(02:24):
everybody can get a free caricature.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Of them, and they're oh my god, love.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
That photography studios, which I also give you a phone.
So many awesome things happening.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
So okay, and you can sign up there on the spot.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
You can sign up there. Yeah, oh for sure.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Registration still open online.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
It is.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
So it's forty five dollars until midnight tonight and then
if you come tomorrow as fifty dollars.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Okay, and if you want to say five or ten bucks,
you can go to Rescue Network in in dot org
and use the prolo code KDWB.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Hey, that's us.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Do we get a T shirt with you registered within
a couple of weeks ago, you were guaranteed a T shirt.
We did order some extras gota. It just depends kind
of what we have left.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
We don't do it for the shirt, but the shirt
is nice. But we do it to raise Oh my god, Bailey,
you're in love with that dog.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I'm going to bring this guy over here so you
can hold them.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
And waffle what kind of dogs we have here?
Speaker 4 (03:11):
They were actually born and rescue them.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Actually really close to the mic. Then there you go.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
When we got their mom, we did an X ray
because we assume she was pregnant and she actually had
a lot of bullets in her. She's Cappuccino, she's online too,
and she gave birth to I think there was eight
or nine in the litter. There's still more than these
guys left, but they were the lucky two to come
on to.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I'm going to tell you these dogs are chill.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, they're so like usually puppies are like wiggling and
waggling everywhere and faster.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Oh my gosh. They are just beautiful dogs.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
There's going to be adoptable tomorrow, so they're gonna be
there tomorrow for.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
Their forever home along with all their dogs and puppies.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
So so come out for adoptable dogs cats tomorrow or
just dog cats.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
You know, they might a little freaked out, but with
all the dogs.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Yeah, these dogs are beautiful. Dave Ryan TV on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, check out Dave Ryan TV on YouTube.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
Bring me one, have headphones.
Speaker 7 (04:13):
Only I don't have my headphones one, bring me one.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Oh, I'll bring you this one. I'll bring you this one.
This one's waffle.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
One.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Do you have like sixteen dogs because you love dogs
so much, Kristin.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yeah, no, I have three of my own. I do foster,
but no, no, you know that keeps me on my
tap there.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, he's a good amount.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah, it is good.
Speaker 8 (04:36):
You know.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
They all get along while they do.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
They do, they're good. They're they're all a little older now,
so that works. But usually I have foster one or
two adult dogs, and it's just like, you know, when
all my kids are in bed and around the couch,
it's like heaven.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
They're just like, yeah, I'm bringing Bernie out tomorrow. Bernie
is my rescue dog. And he had some VET bills
to because Bernie was found I believe in Chilicothee, Missouri,
and and they brought him up here and he was
covered in mud and poop and caked with you know,
and he had blood scabs on the end of his
ears because he shook his head so often that his
(05:10):
ears would flop hard back and forth at the ends
of his ears bled and so once they cleaned him up,
then he was fine. And he's healthy and happy and
we just love him. But he pulls. He pulls like
a truck. How do I get a dog to stop pulling?
And I don't know, but I'm gonna suppose you're an
expert on this.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yes, you know, there's different types of leashes. There's ones
that kind of wrap around the nose maybe that some
people think are a bad thing, but they're not. They're
gentle leaders.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Gentle leaders.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Yeah, yeah, so you can try that to harness certain
things like that and then you know, keep a little
tree big on you.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Okay, But I know that when you take your dog out,
that's the highlight of the day, when you take him
out for a walk. And it's like us scrolling through
Instagram when they're sniffing, sniffing, sniffing.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Ye, they got to do that. That brings them joy, right.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yep, exactly. You know, I don't know. My dog's twelve
and he's still Oh he does what he wants on
his walks. You know, you just go with the.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Flow, right and just enjoy it and listen to Katie
Will'd be on the iHeartRadio app. Yes, while you're out
a walk. Are you gonna put that dog down anytime soon?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Babe?
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Well, I mean no one's taking it from me, so
I'm gonna keep holding.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
I don't blame you know.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
How happy is that a boy or a girl Waffle curly.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Pop take her home Bailey.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
No, but they would actually be kind of like twins.
Use the same color as my cat.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Check them out online.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
If you want to find out more adoptable pets and
donate or make a you know, whatever you want to do,
go to Rescue Network AMIN dot org. Christian, thanks for
doing all this wonderful work.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
We appreciate you.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
And thank you for coming tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, me and Bernie will be there around nine o'clock
until about eleven o'clock or so, okay tomorrow at Trap
Farm Park in Egan, show up around nine, register, hang out,
food trucks, and just you know, it's gonna be a
full day tomorrow, so come on out and bring a dog,
even if you don't have a dog, come on bye. Anyway,
Thank you Kristin for all you do. Rescue Network MN
(07:07):
dot org for all the information WB. Somebody said because
I had mentioned that Owen Wilson wears a wig because
that's his trademark, because that's shaggy blond hair. Yeah, he
does wear a wig. Ben Affleck wears a wig. Also,
Jimmy Kimmel also wears a wig. It's pretty well known.
Speaker 9 (07:24):
I heard that justin Timberlake gets like hair plugs from
a hairstyack.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Could be yeah, yeah, because you can't be a pop
star and like lose your hair.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
No, that's why like wig.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Wig just getting natural hair. I mean, you have great hair.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I can see how people would think that I wear
a wig, because I mean I have very thick, luxuriant hair.
You know what I was thinking about doing was doing
that silver Daddy. Look where you comb it straight back
and grease it back a little bit, grow it long
in the back.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
You tried that already and you look stupid. Yeah, you
look like.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
You were wearing a All right, fine, we're gonna do.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
People are so kind And this is basically because you know,
people rip on others like wow, I hate people, and
we don't hate people, but we all say, bah, people suck.
Like you see dog poop in the middle of the
path and where you're taking for a walks, like, bah,
people suck. Well, people don't suck. People do stupid things
once in a while, but we're gonna twist it around.
We do this every Friday. People are so kind. So
(08:23):
if you've got an example of like somebody helped you
jumpstart your car in the parking lot of the mall
the other day, people are so kind. Maybe somebody just
did something like they held the door for you for
a really long time. Because usually when somebody holds the door,
it's like if it's convenient, you're right there. But if
you've got an armload of boxes and somebody saw it.
People are so kind, So we just want to hear
(08:44):
a story. Use the talkback feature and tell us your
story about people are so kind.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
I mean your story, talk too about yesterday at children's Like,
people were so kind all day to donate to us
because we got like a total dave do you know.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Like ninety two thousand dollars. So this time yesterday we
were at about three thousand dollars. We're panicking, going, oh god,
this is not going well. Yeah, but we ended up
with ninety two plus thousand dollars. So people are so kind.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
There's a woman who comes to that event and she
always brings us donuts and muffins just because she's so kind.
Speaker 9 (09:16):
I think she was on no phone screing to Friday Susan.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Oh wow, well thanks Susanne. Yeah, just earlier.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
I think that was Janelle, wasn't it. Oh Janelle is
the one who comes and brings the donuts.
Speaker 9 (09:26):
Sorry I'm confusing or not? Never mind, doesn't matter.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
But anyway, I got I ate two donuts yesterday and
I almost took a muffin home and then I thought,
you know, I should spread the wealth.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
So people are so kind.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
People are so kind. If you get a story, then
we would love to hear from you.
Speaker 9 (09:42):
When people come to visit you, I feel like, you know,
you host them and you do a lot of things,
like you make sure there's enough food and like all
the stuff for them to be hosted.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (09:50):
But last week when my girlfriends were in town, one
of my girlfriends literally bought all the groceries for us
for the weekend. Instead of like making me, she like
wouldn't let me. We went in the grocery store together.
You bought everything and I was like, no, I'm hosting
you guys, and she's like, nope, I got it.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
She's like, you're providing the home, I'm providing the food.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Wow, people are so kind.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
They're so kind.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
I was at cub the other day and I did
that thing where I was like, oh, I'm only going
to grab a couple of things, like two three things,
and then I started to grab more and I didn't
grab a cart. Some guy saw me struggling to hold everything,
and he brought me a cart. People are so kind
and they're so kind.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
So instead of bitch and like we always do, tell
me your story about somebody that maybe your teacher did
something special, or maybe your parent of a teacher did something.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Something really kind for you. Let us know.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
We'll do the talk back feature for people are so kind.
You open up the talk back feature in the iHeartRadio
app and leave us a thirty second message. We'll play
him back next don kd WB. People are so kind.
Just a little moment here to twist it around a
little bit instead of saying.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
People are stupid, people sook, which.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
We've all been guilty of, but now we're doing the opposite.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
People are so kind. My neighbor because they have a
riding lawnmower. They mowed half our backyard because it's a
big hill. That's neighbors.
Speaker 10 (11:09):
Ever.
Speaker 7 (11:14):
We just moved to West and our neighbors have been
so incredibly friendly, Like.
Speaker 10 (11:19):
We bet you.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
People bring us like different breads.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
People are stopping by to say hi.
Speaker 8 (11:23):
Like such a change from Wisconsin.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Oh wow, Oh yeah, people are so kind.
Speaker 11 (11:31):
I live in a pretty large apartment complex. There was
a homeless lady that just got her apartment starting fresh,
had absolutely nothing. Everybody in the apartment complex came together,
furnished her entire apartment, gave her what she needed to
get her back on her feet. And it's just awesome,
so humbly to do something.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Of that sort, that's really nice. That's beyond wow.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Definitely. Yep.
Speaker 8 (11:59):
Hm.
Speaker 10 (12:00):
Last Friday, my tire fell off my car.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Literally all five bolts broke and.
Speaker 10 (12:06):
My car ended up breaking down beside this tinting shop,
and one of the workers came out to help me
see if there was anything that could be done, and
when we figured out that the car could not be
fixed on the spot, he ended up offering to drive
me twenty five minutes to my home from where we
were located.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
So that was how somebody was super tining.
Speaker 6 (12:26):
To mew twenty five minutes. That's a hike. Yeah, shout
out to that dude. People are so kind.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Hi morning, crew, I love you guys. I'm just saying
a mom.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
With three kids.
Speaker 12 (12:37):
We went to Sam's Club the other day and of
course sometimes the kids are good, but this time they
were kind of acting out and running all over the place.
I put in the cars got a few things. I
sell this man a few times in the store because
he told me my kids were very cute. And then
we went out to the parking lot and I was
putting everything in the trunk and the kids in their seat.
He came over and put my car back to the
(12:57):
car station. And it's just a little thing like that,
like this little things for that I.
Speaker 8 (13:01):
Don't have to.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, just like a little, tiny, little tinness really can
make a difference.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
So, yes, people are so kind.
Speaker 13 (13:10):
So I was going through a really bad breakup in
the last couple of weeks and I had to work
with my boss and he knew that I was really
sad and can tell that I had been crying and
stuff because I had been a ten year relationship that
I ended. And so he went to Trader Joe's and
bought every single treat like chocolate tree or sweet treat
(13:31):
that you could offer the shelf and brought it back
for me so that I have some sweet treats.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
People are so kind. But it was Dave's face, like,
what are you guys doing? No, that's I guess her
husband or something snoring in the back, a.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Dog, a pig, say it again because I want to
hear this. Now. There's a big snoring in the background,
a dog.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
She just went through a breakup, so it's not her husband.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Okay, Okay, let me hear it again. Somebody's snoring.
Speaker 13 (13:56):
People are so kind. So I was going through a
really bad wake up in the last couple of weeks
and I had to work with my boss and he
knew that I was really sad and can tell that
I had been crying and stuff because I had been
a ten year relationship that I ended. And so he
went to Trader Joe's and bought every single treat like
(14:18):
chocolate tree or sweet treat that you could offer the
shelf and brought it back for me so that I
have some sweet treats.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Okay, I think it's a dog.
Speaker 8 (14:27):
I know. I know.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
A moment, I'm like, yes, dog, all right, I love that. Okay.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
There is something that you have had in your house
that is going to make you rich and you very
and I'm not joking, you very likely might have this
in your house and you've had it there for a
while and you've kind of forgotten about it, but it
could make you some money. And I'll tell you about
it next I know, by the way, I know somebody
who made sixty thousand dollars from finding this in their house.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I'll tell you about it.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Anymore now, Number one in prisons we are.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's surprisingly true. It is time to find out what's
going on this weekend, so you're not sitting around playing
on your phone all weekend and watching the hours take past.
It's going to be a beautiful weekend. So Stephanie is here.
Stephanie is basically our expert on what to do this weekend. Hi, Stephanie, Hello,
what did we have? What's going on this weekend? It's
one of the final summer weekends before it starts to
(15:27):
get cooler. What are we doing this weekend? You get
a top five.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
And the first one we're going in hot and quirky
right away.
Speaker 8 (15:35):
If you ever envisioned yourself with your hot dog, like
your pet dog, eating a hot dog while getting a
hot dog tattoo.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I have an event for you.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 8 (15:44):
Tomorrow is October Fest at Insight Brewing and it's going
on from eleven to eight, but basically hot dogs everywhere,
a little market of hot dog goodies.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
This is the weirdest thing I've.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Ever kind of hot and get a hot dog tattoo.
Speaker 8 (15:57):
And this is like a second annual or something. They've
done this before and had a success.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Wow again.
Speaker 8 (16:02):
I love larious live music too. Hot dog vendors. I
think the kids call them glizzies these days.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, what are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (16:11):
That's what like a hot dog? You call it a glizzy.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
I'll tell you.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
I'm gen Z and from the East Coast. I don't
call it a glizzy. But the kids, the youth do.
Speaker 9 (16:19):
Does the East Coast always call them glazy?
Speaker 10 (16:21):
They do.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
I'm just saying I don't, even though I'm from the
East Coast.
Speaker 8 (16:24):
If I heard it, we learned something every day tomorrow
and another. If you're like missing the fair because it's
over the crop art thing that was going on that
was super popular for I don't know if they always
have that long of line, but all the winners are
on display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art through twenty
eight September, so you can go check them out if
(16:45):
you didn't want to wait in line.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (16:47):
Crop, yeah, the crop called cream of the crop isn't
the Institute of Art.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
It's free or not?
Speaker 6 (16:53):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (16:54):
This is free? All cool?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Okay? Cool?
Speaker 8 (16:56):
Check it out to speak under or all right, and
then if you're with the fair and you're ready to
get into creepy season, Lloween's coming up. Yes, there is
a horror convention in town this weekend Crown Plaza, West
Hotel and Plymouth. We're going to have a film festival.
And I looked at the list of vendors literally scroll scroll,
scroll scroll, like so many oo. Yeah, costume, makeup, tattoo contests,
(17:19):
that type of thing. It's like twenty bucks to get
in today and then more tomorrow. Okay, sounds twelve and
under are free, but I don't know if you should
bring your kids, I mean into it. Yeah, yeah, so
that's that one. Okay, I just found this this week.
But there is a film screening of documentary that like
follows the lives of the young adults that come here
on work visas to work at the Wisconsin Bells.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Because so seasonal. It's like a speed something like that.
Speaker 8 (17:50):
They're following them like at work or telling their stories
of how they got there, where they came from, and
like their night life, and it looks pretty interesting.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
I watched the trailer.
Speaker 9 (17:56):
So I always wanted to work at the Dells because
it was always like but with great European accents, and
they were always so good looking. And I'm like, I
need to get a job here in the summer. How
do I make this out? I don't want to watch that.
Speaker 8 (18:06):
Yeah, it's at the Walker and it says it's fifteen dollars.
But if you've never been there or you're like the
movie part of it, I guess your first movie is free.
That's what I saw online. So really, yeah, all weekend,
I don't know. You can probably find the show times
on the website, Okay. And then the last one a
half for you is a big party of the best
restaurants in Minneapolis that cook over live like open flame smoking,
(18:29):
you know whatever. Really, it's at Bauhause. The restaurants are
going to be there. Our Parlor, Black Duck, Boucher Own,
Jellyban and Julia's Barbecue, Solou, the Wander, and the White
Rabbit Kitchen.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Wow, that sounds fun. That sounds like a thing Jenny
would like.
Speaker 8 (18:44):
So it's twenty five bucks to get in and that
includes your first beer and then they'll have like spirit
tastings included, and then you can buy the snacks and
drinks that they have cool.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
You find all these esoteric little.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Events my Facebook page.
Speaker 8 (18:57):
I follow every local business and then you can kind
of like go to the events tab and just like
scroll through them and try to find the ones that
sound cool or interesting.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
You know.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Okay, gotch Yeah, that's how I.
Speaker 8 (19:07):
Do it if you want to spend as much time
as I do on your phone. Thanks for doing again. Yeah,
we appreciated my big things like oh, the Vikings are
playing on Sunday. Yeah, and that's not hard to find.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
All right, let's resive you one more time, Stephanie, in
case you want to check out one or more of
these events.
Speaker 8 (19:22):
Doc dog Toberfest at Insight Browing tomorrow, all for the
hot dog lovers.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Number two Kaream of the Crop.
Speaker 8 (19:28):
The best crop art winners from the State Fair on
display at the Miniapo Institute of Art for free through September.
Uh Crypticon, the Horror Convention will be in town.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
It's aim that's gonna be a big one.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Friday through Sunday.
Speaker 8 (19:41):
The Dell's movie that follows the kids that work there
that come from other countries is at the Walker this weekend.
And Northern char is the name of that festival that's
on Sunday from one to five with all the.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Restaurants Northern char And if you miss any of these
you want to see them. They're on Stephanie dot Rosner
R O S E N E. R. St Rosner on
the gram on the Grand Follower. Thank you, Stephanie. Oh,
by the way, you want to sell her buy a house?
Stephanie does real estate.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
You do not contact me. I am currently understaffed. Oh okay,
ei next weeks cleared up.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
You have an assistant that they should have contact instead.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
No idea, I'm not, I'm not, I know.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Okay, Well, good Stephanie. Thank you so much for coming in.
We appreciate you. Let's get into one point three kd
w B. There is something in your house that you
might not be aware that it's very valuable. A friend
(20:42):
of mine found these in her home and they got
sixty thousand dollars for their collection of Pokemon cards.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
So they're still good, still still hot.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
No, they're very hot.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
I'm like a lot of like baseball cards haven't really
done anything, but Pokemon cards.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Check this out.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Your childhood binder full of Pokemon cards might be worth
more than your four oh one k. Now, they don't
pay dividends, and they're not subject to government regulation. But
they've increased in value by thirty eight hundred percent in
the last twenty years. That trounce is the S and
P five hundred to four hundred and eighty three percent
over the same period Financial Advisor's caution against betting retirement
(21:25):
savings on them. But there's no denying the market has
been trending up for quite a long time. Alison found well,
I didn't. She had them when she was little and
she didn't play Pokemon, so she would very carefully put
them in the plastic little sleeves. And then I found them,
what about five years ago, and I took them to
a trading card place, and I think they took me
like hook line and scary. I think they bought her
(21:48):
whole collection for seventy five bucks. And I walked out
of there thinking, Yeah, I got seventy five bucks for Allison.
I'm gonna guess I probably could have gotten one hundred
times that.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Yeah, I mean maybe you got Yeah.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
I know. The ones that are like really valuable are
like the ones shiny ones, yeah ones. And I had
as called like hilhographic holographic. I had a holographic Gura
Dose when I was a kid, and that was like
my one cool one and.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
I don't know where it is. I don't have it anymore.
Speaker 7 (22:17):
But then Robin and Ukulele Club gave me ut.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Holo holographic gosh uh.
Speaker 7 (22:25):
Kabootops because kaboot Tops is my favorite Pokemon.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
He has like knives for hands.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
He's so cool, so cool, so cool.
Speaker 7 (22:33):
Anyway, I know that they're really cool in general, and
especially if you have any of like the first generation
Pokemon cards, those gotta be worth a bunch of money.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
And probably if your kids collect or if you were
a kid and collected them thirty ish years ago, take
a look. Don't go to the card shop that I
went to. I don't know how you do your research
and find out, but play a.
Speaker 7 (22:53):
Harder game because you were probably just like, yeah, showty
five sounds great.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Because I didn't know.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Yeah, they were like, oh, somebody's dead coming in.
Speaker 14 (23:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
It's like, I mean, they tell me that we're ten
dollars each, and I'm like, I've got no evidence against that,
so all right, that is you can't make this stuff up.
We'll be back with Dave's Dirt coming up in a
few seconds on kdbub.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Tenseiltown, Dave's Dirt on kd w B.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
New Music Friday, and Ed Sheeron's got a bunch of
new music out. I think his album was released last night,
probably at midnight. I'm going to play a random one.
This is camera from Ed sheer and I'm not gonna
play the whole So sing just a little tiny clip.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
Everything is back.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
I like it, Jenny So Saturday in Los Angeles.
Speaker 9 (23:38):
This weekend, it's the World Naked Bike Ride, and I
thought that this was something that I was going to
happen in multiple big cities across the country. So I
did some deep research to see if my girl cities,
what was going to be doing it, because obviously I
would definitely partake. I love bike riding and I like it.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
You would not naked bike ride.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
I would never be naked, but I do like broad
Undies song.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Okay you would do that, Yes, no, you would.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yes, I would.
Speaker 9 (23:58):
Oh my gosh, I absolutely what I've thought. I do
it in a thong. It probably wouldn't be comfortable to
tell me when where. Just tell me, well, it's not
happening in the Twin Cities. Apparently it only happens in
big cities every once in a while, so it looks
like in the Midwest there's none that are going to
be doing it this year, but Madison, Wisconsin will be
holding it next year June twentieth of twenty twenty six.
(24:19):
So if you want to get naked and ride a bike,
just look forward.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
To that in a year.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
It's gonna be a big weekend at the movie theaters
this weekend, New Doubt Nabby movie. This is like the
last Doubt Nabby movie after a ton of seasons, a
couple other movies, So big Doubt Nabby. I loved Dount
Nabby when it was on TV. But then also I
think Dave you would like this is Spinal Tap, which
is the.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Spinal setup this weekend.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah, so it's.
Speaker 7 (24:43):
The sequel, though it's not like slotted to make a
lot of money. Unfortunately, they think it's gonna be lucky
to earn five million. And then this is what I'm
hyped about, the Sound of Music. They're gonna bring it
out for Funzies as a re release for the sixtieth anniversary,
so you can see.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
The Sound of Music on the big screen this weekend.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
That's kind of cool, It's cool.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
Okay, Yeah, I don't think I watched the original Bring
It On, but I watched one of the sequels, and
now Kirsten Dunston's talking about she's not a fan of
another possible sequel.
Speaker 9 (25:12):
I'm like, leave good things in the right like where
they are.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
What if you had more of a say as like
a producer.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Oh no, I don't need to put on a cheerleading
outfit or I don't even know what I would do
be a coach.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
I watched the one with Hayden Panitara.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
I didn't watch the original one, but it's been twenty
five years, so even compare.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
No, I can't, I can't what is awful?
Speaker 9 (25:35):
By the way, I think there's been three Bring it Ons,
and the one with her is the worst of.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
All of them unless you just put it on.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
It was like watch this and I thought it was
so overly dramatic, but such a two thousands.
Speaker 9 (25:44):
She like a white girl hanging out with black people,
so she's like into crumping and stuff.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
It's very a little bit. It's just some appropriation and that.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, sure things This weekend Viking's home opener, they're hosting
Atlanta's Sunday night at US Bank Stadium. Renaissance Festival continue
used for a couple of more weekends, and Bailey is
working the chocolate booth.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yes.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
Well, there's a chocolate tent right across the walkway from
the Danger Committee, which is like a knives juggling comedy show.
So if you want to go see the Danger Committee,
look for the red tent and that's where I sell chocolate.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Are you wearing like a weird dress and a goblet
tied to your belt.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Or anything like that.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
I don't go all out like that, but some of
my coworkers do.
Speaker 7 (26:24):
I literally just wear like a flowy, colorful skirt with
like a corset and a flowy top.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Oh okay, I just get the basics.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Severs Fall Festival is opening weekend and it goes weekends
through October twenty six.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Love Severs. It is so awesome.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
The Pinehaven Fall Farm Festival first weekend. It is something
days in Wyoming, Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Stage Coach Day?
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Stage Coach Days in Wyoming, Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
The Emmys are on Sunday as well.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
If you like award shows, then you can watch the
Emmys at seven o'clock Sunday.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Twins host Phoenix at target Field Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
and Link's game one of the playoffs is Sunday at
Target Center.
Speaker 9 (27:04):
Former Bachelor Nick Ville is responsible for the new Bachelorette.
If you didn't hear, it's Taiy Frankie Paul, who is
from the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
Basically, he kind of threw it out there that.
Speaker 9 (27:14):
She would be absolutely perfect to be the next Bachelorette.
And I think she did some audition video on TikTok
ones like this would be me if I was on
the Bachelorette. So, Taylor Frankie Paul does have three kids,
two Baba daddies already, so she does have criteria of
the men. They must be single obviously on her season
at least twenty one years old, she's thirty one, legal
(27:35):
US or Canadians resident, possess a valid passport, and must
not have been convicted of a felony. I did see
her also posting that I think because she's a Utah woman,
a Mormon wife. Yeah, I think she did say that
that person is absolutely has to move to Utah. That's
her life. Oh yeah, there's not gonna be any compromise.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
You cannot live anywhere else, must move to Utah. Well,
Utah's beautiful. I heard. Isn't Nick vile like awful? Yeah?
I don't know. It's there's a lot of him. Okay,
I could get into that, but we won't run now.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
I just remember his name is vile, so I thought, oh,
he's a vile person. You know, it's not a vile person.
Liam Hemsworth's baby, what a babe. But he's engaged to
a model, so it's a it's not gonna happen for us,
Jenny unfortunately, the one that was with Miley. Yes, yes, he's,
in my humble opinion, the hotter of the Hemsworth.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
I agree, Bailey, Jay, thank you, Van, thank you.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
I really appreciate it. I've always thought that Chris could
throw us around better, though, you know, I mean I would.
I would task either one to throw me around. Liam
does which you want you around?
Speaker 1 (28:40):
I'm and I'm really hung up on Owen Wilson right
now because he's just so cool, because I like his nose.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
I like his hair so well.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
His hair's a way we already discussed.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
It is a wig.
Speaker 6 (28:50):
Yes, we already know that I will my favorite story
of the day.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
Doja cat is compare, she's clarifying, comparing her scarlet album
to a fart.
Speaker 14 (28:58):
I meant that it was a release and a relief
for me. I wasn't saying that it was bad. When
you fart, it feels good, you feel better, You're releasing gas.
Speaker 5 (29:13):
It's quirky, but those A Cat's the same person that
wore a chair on her head to an award show
a couple of years ago.
Speaker 6 (29:18):
So nothing's off, But.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Also, where's the lie? You do feel better after you go?
Speaker 1 (29:23):
You will change the subject here. Some main characters and
movies are so beloved that it's easy to overlook how
flawed or even evil they are. Somebody put it leather together.
Put together a list of movies where the major character
is the worst. For example, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Grandpa Joe. He stayed in bed for twenty years, and
(29:43):
he's got the strength to jump and dance. Then at
the factory, he convinces Charlie to break Wonka's rules, which
endangers his life. I've got more. Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Ferris Bueller, He's manipulative, deceitful and irresponsible Mean Girls Lindsey
Lowen becomes a self absorbed mean girl while trying to
get revenge on Regina George Meet the Parents. Pam, who
(30:08):
is engaged to Ben Stiller, sets him up for failure
by putting him in awkward situations like telling everybody that
he hates cats and letting him sleep in to appear
lazy missus doubt Fire Robin Williams violates a court order,
tricks his ex wife into letting him back into the house,
and manipulates her new boyfriend. And one of the greatest
(30:28):
movies ever filmed, Dumb and Dumber. Jim Carrey conned a
blind kid into buying a dead bird. His thoughtlessness usually
ends up getting others hurt. But we love these characters anyway.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
I mean, I feel like, at least.
Speaker 7 (30:42):
In Mean Girls, that was the whole point was that
she turned into a mean girl. But like Ferris Bueller,
I get that because he was kind of the worst.
Speaker 6 (30:50):
But he's so charming.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
He's such a charming character. I love that, all right.
That is the dirt it has brought to you by
six y one to two. Injured Heimer and Lammer's Injury
Long and to give a shout out to strut for months.

Egan with my dog Bernie, and we're gonna be kind
of walking around and saying hi and meeting other dogs.

wagon friendly. It is a run walk and you don't
have to walk it or you can just hang out.
