Speaker 1 (00:00):
I gotta tell this quick little story because I'm really
proud of this woman named Shawna. And Shauna is there's
a little bit of a backstory, and you maybe heard
me tell the story before. I didn't know Shawna. She
was in third grade, and she sent me a flat Stanley,
which is a little paper cut out of a human
and then you're supposed to take a picture of it
and then send the picture in the flat Stanley back.
(00:20):
And some people take their flat Stanley all around the world.
That takes them to Peru or the Great Wall of
China and take a picture and say, look, flat Stanley's
been all over the world. So little Shawna didn't know
her third grader sends me her flat Stanley. I didn't
open it. I didn't know what it was, and I
just stuck it in my desk and it got under something.
And I'm cleaning up my desk three months later and
I find this flat Stanley from third grade Shawna, who's
(00:41):
probably like, I'm heartbroken that I sent this and this guy,
this DJ didn't send it back. I found it. I
got a hold of the school. I said, I'm so sorry.
I came out to deliver the Flat Stanley to Shawna
and I was the guest reader. I ran into Shanna's mother.
This is a long time ago Randon to Shawna's mother.
(01:02):
The Pride Rainbow run on Saturday Sunday, And I'm like,
how is Shauna? She's a doctor. She just graduated a
couple of weeks ago or days ago with a doctorate
of audiology, so hearing ears, surgery things.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Because she loved the radio so much. Maybe so.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
And I am so proud of Shauna because I don't
know anything about her life or anything about you know,
any she had any challenges in life, but becoming a
doctor is a challenge in itself. So I am proud
of Shawna.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Uch.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
So what are you proud of?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
And it could be about yourself, It cannot be about
your kids. So I know your son is an amazing
pilot or an amazing mechanic, your daughter is an amazing
tuba player. Can't do your kids? What are you proud of?
Bailey Jay?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
So I don't have kids. I have a speech team.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I'm not going to talk about them performing, but I
tell them every year that, like your friendships that you
make on this team are forever and one of my students. Yesterday,
she texted me a picture of her hanging out with
this other guy on the team that they were really
close friends over the season and they're still hanging out
in the summer. So I'm proud of her for like
making that friendship last. And he just graduated, so she's
(02:20):
and she's like a freshman or whatever, but she's like,
you know what, this friendship is important to me. And
so instead of just like you know, going offline all
summer because people sometimes, you know, just shut up in
their homes all summer long, she's like going out of
her way to stay friends and to hang out with
this guy before he goes off to college.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
I'm like, that's so cute. I love her. Sweet Vaughn,
what are you proud of? I'm proud of my little sister.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
She's fifteen, and so she's at that age where you know,
you can kind of start applying for jobs. But my
sister is amongst the generation that's just kind of a
little bit lazy transparently, but she started actually going to
job interviews and none of them have landed yet. But
I'm proud of her for saying, you know, I want
to make my own money to me independent, I'm going
to go apply.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
For a job. Yeah, that is nice.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
I did not have a job all throughout high school,
like I had a little bit of a summer job.
So I'm always really proud of people who have jobs
during this summer.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
That's great. What are you proud of?
Speaker 1 (03:13):
And it could be about yourself or somebody else, or
you know, whatever something you did at work. What are
you proud of? Use the talk bag feature that red
microphone button on the time iHeartRadio app and let us know.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Thing I'm proud of is me and my sister and
her boyfriend quit vaping a couple of weeks ago. So yeah,
I'm pretty proud of us.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I don't blame you.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Yeah for you.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Another one.
Speaker 7 (03:36):
I'm excited because i just graduated from the UVM, past
my national.
Speaker 8 (03:40):
Boards and my stafeboards, and I'm ready to start my
internship as a funeral director.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
That is cool, Neat, you know we need funeral directors.
They're very important. What an interesting career choice. I've always
admired that. What are you proud of?
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I am proud of my service dog Buddy. I am
officially retiring him this weekend. It has been seven amazing
years working with him, and I.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Can't even go into details how much he's done for me.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
And helped me.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
It is very nice. That's so cute. What are you
proud of?
Speaker 7 (04:21):
I am proud of myself and my husband because we
bought a horse trailers as a living quarters and it
ended up getting a major rough week and we didn't
know when we bought it, so him and I have
been gutting.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
The whole entire thing.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Trailer quarter.
Speaker 7 (04:40):
I am proud of myself and my husband because we
bought a horse trailer as a living quarters and some.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Of them have living quarters in the front. Yes, it's
quite common for people to live in yeah. Really Yeah,
it's like half camper half horse.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I had no idea. I'm not uncommon. I'm proud of
my girl. There's one.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I'm proud of my girlfriend because she's a graduated college
to be a licensed dental assistant.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Let's gold.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I'm gonna tell you something. You're never gonna get away
again without flossing. She's gonna be like, did you floss?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah? I floss. No, you did not show me your
floss in the trash can? Offlows. What are you proud of.
Speaker 9 (05:27):
I just want to say that I'm proud of myself
for my horsemanship skills, considering.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
I've only been doing it a little less than ten years.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Thank you, have a great day.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
I love that I know nothing about riding a horse.
I know you get on on the left side. That's
really all I know about riding horses. You climb on
on the left side and hold on for dear life,
and that's the big important thing. What are you proud of?
Speaker 6 (05:50):
Good morning, BFF Mike here. What am I proud of?
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Well?
Speaker 6 (05:55):
I am proud that I have been at the company
where I work shout out Northern Dual Equipment for thirty years.
Last Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day was my thirtieth anniversary with Northern
Tool and Equipment.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
I'm very proud of that.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Thanks hey, good job a lot. It's a lot for that. No,
all right, more talk bags. What are you proud of?
Speaker 7 (06:23):
I'm proud of my husband for going back to college
at the age of fifty one and graduating with honors
and becoming a deputy sheriff.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Love you, honey. Wow, that's cool.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
We got a lot of people like on Facebook and
text messages talking about how they're proud of themselves or
a spouse for going back to college at like a
later age, And I think that's great.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I think the great thing about you usually do better
because you wanted to go, that was your choice to go,
and it's about your future when you go when you're
eighteen years old. A lot of times like yeah, okay, yeah,
I'll go to class, baby.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Not only that you get the experience. Yeah, they actually
write an essay. Good. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I normally don't like to talk about myself, but I'm
proud of myself for going back to college at thirty
nine and getting I'm halfway through my bachelor's in psychology,
for going around.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I'm marrying at Youde's a good one. Okay, more talk.
Pack is another wound. I am proud of myself. As
of today, it's been two months since I quit smoking.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
For yeah, good graduate, don't go back, don't do it.
Don't go back because I've done it before. I quit
smoking so long ago. I don't remember how long ago,
twenty something years ago. And you quit for a couple
of weeks and you go, ah, I'm gonna have one,
and then you might as well have a pack.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, And so then you go buy a pack. I
don't do it, so don't do it. I got one
more for you. I think you know this person, Dave.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Hi.
Speaker 8 (07:44):
This is Melissa from Asiegal and I am super proud
of meeting my friend Dave at golf the other day.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
This is an extreme Jamie's IC's wife you were golfing with?
Oh god, are you serious? Is that hurt? Yes? Your face?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
You're like, I've never met a Melissa in my life,
not at all.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Play it again.
Speaker 8 (08:07):
All right, This is Melissa from Asiegal and I am
super proud of meeting my friend Dave at golf.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Seat Did she say beating my friend Dave or meeting me? Okay,
because she did not beat me. Time seen so many
balls splash in the water.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Good lord.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
All right, we got a couple of tech We had
a bunch of text messages. I wish we could read
them all, but we wanted to focus on the talkbacks.
She used that talkback feature because we really like to
integrate that in the show, because it's fun to hear
a human voice on the radio.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Let's textas I'm proud of myself this morning, literally on
my way to become a first time home buyer. That's
a single mom of two teens. It's been a feat,
but we did it.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
That is awesome.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
This person says, I am proud of my nephew. He's
had college football coaches talking to him since eighth grade
and there are several colleges wanting him as a junior
now in high school.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Gosh, imagine like that. That would be so cool.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
I'm proud of my fiance for sticking it through and
making it through an FT audit last week. It was
a rough week, but he made it through with flying colors.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Good for you.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
What are you proud of? And you know what, it's
okay to say your kids. You can be very proud
of your kids. We just wanted to avoid that one
because it was too easy. Chaboozy on KDWB, I got
some good news for you. You got one thousand dollars you
can win. All you gotta do is go to the
KDWB website and then a little dialogue box will pop up.
(09:28):
You type in a keyword. The keyword is coming at
you right now, your.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Chance to win one thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
No, just enter this nationwide keyword on KDWB dot com.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Grand that's grand.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Enter it now at KDWB dot com. Okay, go into
that keyword for one thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Easy.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Remember the keyword is grand. You can use it to
apply toward a vacation, maybe fly somewhere. I think Jenny
said she flew to Iceland for like three hundred and
fifty bucks round trip. It's crazy wild that get you
and your friend out to Iceland. You'd have to pay
for you. You're out your food and your whatever. But
whatever you want to spend your thousand dollars on. Grand
is the keyword, and people say all the time it
(10:07):
is like, what's the number that's gonna call me and
tell me that I won?
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I truly don't know a number. You don't recognize it.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
It's a number you don't recognize. So if you don't
recognize it, answer it anyway. If you play the game.
The worst that can happen is it's not somebody you
want to talk to when you hang up. The past
can happen as one thousand bucks, you gotta answer your phone.
It's as easy as that. Let's have vought stir the
pot yesterday. He was stirned to pot by saying that
(10:34):
morning sex is awful and overrated and should never be
a thing. That caught a lot of people off guard.
Some people agreed with you. What do you stern the
pot about today? And a piss off? Some pet owners?
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Stop naming your pets marshmallow or some'mores or nugget.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
It does not sound right at all? Who does that?
I don't know anybody to name it all that? My gosh,
I know so many people.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
I'm not saying you have to name them like these
human names like Archibald or like Ronald or but like no,
Barnard's okay because you call them Bernie. That's a cute.
You have the cute nickname. Yeah, there are people that
name there.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Came here, muffin, came here. Come You're pudding? Doesn't sound
How do you discipline a dog? Name pudding? I do
have a friend who has a cat named hash Brown.
Speaker 7 (11:14):
Sounds cute cat.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Maybe that works for That's a great name. Why couldn't
work for a dog Brown? Because you don't really have
to discipline cats.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Yeah, dogs you have to tell like, let's just say
you have to discipline them or take them on a walk.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Came here, Pickles, you sit, Pickles.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
You said, that's a cute name too. Now you're saying
no food names. Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 5 (11:34):
They don't have to I guess yeah. They typically are
like food names. What if the name is baby? No,
See that's stupid. Why would I, as a veterinarian, have
to come out appointment for food?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Food? Baby sounds so dumb.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Stop naming your dogs dumb things like sitniment swirl.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Where nobody getting this story from. You're making stuff off
the top of your head.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
Texting right now, what is your dog's name? If you
have a name in this like realm of names.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Like pickles and hash brown are great names. They are
good names.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
I wouldn't want to call a dog hash brown because
I wouldn't most stand in the front Porsche hash brown.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
See that sponsa. That's spons point that he's trying to make.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Snickerdoodle, that's one. I know somebody who has a dog namesake.
In turn, John's Dog's name is Skittles. It's a dumb name.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Are you serious one of his dogs?
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I think it's okay. Can you go ahead?
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Two people texted in. One person just said it give
them a minute, My neighbor. No, I'm saying, I'm reading
them my neighbor has a little CORKI named Crewton, And
then the next text says, my cat's name is Creuton.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Wow, is a great name for a no, not ethin?
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Why not a corky though? Crewton? I think that's cute.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
I just think like when you're in the dog park,
like raisin raise, peanut butter and jelly, where are you?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
It just sounds dumb.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Nobody's naming their dog peanut, butter and jelly. You're just
trying to piss me off.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
I guarantee you. There are people that are gonna text it.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Maybe they won't because they're a shame, but they have
some weird like food or like cuteese type names that
are not dog names.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
There are some text messages. My dogs are donut and nacho.
See and my cats are macadamia nut mac or hazelnut.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Hazy.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Screw you, vonn Nacho. You're not supposed to be on
my carpet.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Nacho? What I like? Donut and Nacho? Those are cute.
They age poorly, they're cute when they're young.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
It's like how people like, let's talk about humans, right,
People name their kids blossom.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
That's one of Cardi B's kids.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
What do I look like a fifty year old woman
at some point being named blossom? You have to think
about dogs and humans are going to get older.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yeah, but a dog being old is still a little baby.
It's just an older little baby.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Somebody texted my dogs are Sirloin and Brisket.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
See Brisket's a hilarious name. I think I love that.
Look at all these texts coming in. My dog's name
is Piggy my cat. My cat's name is Lint.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
There's no macs. Their pets their sidekicks. Dog's name is
kim Chi. That's cute.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I love human names for a dog. Yeah, like you know,
Buddy is not really a human name, but he's a
good name for a dog. But like Bernie, I really
like that one. Roger the cat, our cat Roger.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
My sister names all of her pets like human names.
She has a cat named Phyllis, a cat named Kevin.
She's got a cat named Ed and then a dog
named the Penny.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Okay, yeah, here is one. My dog's name is Tuna.
My dog's name is Pickles. My childhood dogs were Salt
and Pepper.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
My grandma had a Salt and Pepper. What do you
get out of I don't know.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Somebody texted my cat's my cousin's cat name is I lost?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
It is raw chicken breast. No way. See that's I
don't believe that. There's no that's dog. I think they
make that up. My dog's name is kel Zone.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Katie's on the phone, Dave, Hello, Katie. We're talking about
dog's name should not be named after food. What do
you think?
Speaker 9 (14:52):
Well, I have a cat and we named him a hole.
A hole, yeah, because he got talking over Christmas tree
and I kept side on a name and I kept
coming home and saying, you a hole. And let me
tell you after he got new her the best Africa
instructions I've ever heard of.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
My wife? What was that?
Speaker 6 (15:12):
What?
Speaker 2 (15:13):
What? What do you mean?
Speaker 9 (15:15):
Because you know they replaced the pets name for all
the instructions.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Oh, I see, I see such things.
Speaker 9 (15:21):
If a hole is bleeding, please contact us.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Make sure you put sav on the A hole.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Wow, that's funny.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I feel bad for that dog because then he's gonna
just be more of an a hole because his.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Name is it's the same. Yeah, she loves him. Oh,
thank you Van for sharing the pot. We'll be back
in a moment, We're gonna do what's on your radar?
This is kind of a fun bit. I found something
I mightor usually TV shows, but I found something on TV.
Watched the entire thing last night hour in forty five minutes. Fascinating.
And we'll do that next on the radar. Everybody's got
(15:56):
something that they found on the radar, whether it's a
restaurant or a book or an app or whatever.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
And we'll do what's on your radar?
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Coming up next on one to one point three k
d WB and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app. By the way,
the keyword is grand. If you want to win one
thousand dollars, go to KTWB dot com and type in
that keyword grand to win.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
What is on your radar? These are things we kind
of find and we go, oh, this is kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
I think we'll you know, we have friends tell things
to friends, like if you find a cool restaurant, Well,
you got to go to this restaurant. Oh it's really cool.
What's it called? Is best Plaza Pizza in Minnesota?
Speaker 7 (16:29):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (16:30):
So borrow?
Speaker 1 (16:30):
How do you spell that? SBA r R? So here
is on my radar? A friend told me about it,
because this is how you usually hear about cool things.
It is called Surviving Ohio State. It is a one
and a half hour, two hour documentary on Max and
it is all about the sports doctor at Ohio State University,
(16:52):
mostly during the eighties part of the nineties. Average looking
guy and the wrestling team would go in for their
exams and he would basically assault and molest them under
the guise of giving them examinations. Yeah, and they didn't
know what to do. They were like, well, their kids
and they were like, what just happened? Was that normal?
I don't know whether it's normal or not. It didn't
(17:13):
feel normal. So they'd say something and the coach would
go like, yeah, it's nothing, it's your imagination. And so
they lived with this for years and years and he
did was the fencing team's doctor, the football team doctor,
the tennis team. All is this and he did the
same thing with all of these people and it's just
disgusting and it's headshaking, and it's called Surviving Ohio State.
(17:38):
Come truly compelling for an hour and forty five minutes,
that's what's on my radar.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
On my Radar this week is the show cabaret at
the Guthrie. So, first of all, the guth three is
a fascinating place to visit. It's got like an endless bridge,
it's got the Yellow Room, there's cocktail bars. It's just
like a it's a night in itself, even if you
weren't seeing a show. And last week I saw the
show with my friend Tim and it was truly fantastic,
one of probably the best shows I've seen at the
(18:03):
gu three. And it's set in nineteen thirties Berlin. It's sexy,
it's serious and everyone was like really really talented. And
that runs like through August, so you have a lot
of time to go and see it, and I really
recommend it. It was very good, awesome.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Well all my radar Bailey is it's called Gordon Ramsey's
Secret Service.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
It's his newest show.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
I think it's like a step up from Kitchen Nightmares,
but it's also giving bar rescue where he breaks into
the restaurants overnight, breaks into quote unquote he sees what's wrong,
like oh.
Speaker 10 (18:31):
This chicken sitting in juice, or like these lines have
been sitting here since last September, and he'll go and
critique whatever and then the next day he'll show up
and they'll be Gordon Ramsey's here, Gordon Ramsey's here.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
What he's just walking in? But it's a good show
because I like that. It's like a comfort show. Wit
once again on the radar. Mine is surviving Ohio State.
I'll also put on there as a bonus, the Deluthe
Air Show this weekend because the Blue Angels are going
to be. There's some other things too, and the weather
looks pretty good, so should go off just fine.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Mine is Cabaret at the Guthrie Theater, running until August
twenty fourth.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
In mind is go to Ramsey's new show. What is
called Secret Service?
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Okay, that is what is on our radar. We'll put
those online on Dave Ryan Show on Instagram so you
can check those.
Speaker 11 (19:08):
App It's the best day of the year. It's International
Joke Day.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
That's right, It's the day of the year where Bailey
reads some of the jokes she has saved in her
notes app on her phone.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
These are your go tos at dinner parties.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
These are my go tos at dinner parties. I have
an entire note on my notes app of jokes. So
if you have any in your brain's, Dave and Va,
think about them, because I'm going to give you some
of mine. We'll just go around, you know, go around
the horn here.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Gosh. One of my first ones that I always go
for is.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
How did the butcher introduce his wife meet Patty guys? Okay,
all right, Vegan said to me, people who sell meat
are gross I said, people who sell fruit and vegetables
are grossers.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Do you get it?
Speaker 9 (20:03):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Gosh, Dave, guess what. Somebody stole my limbo stick out
of my garage. I am devastated. I mean, how low
can you go?
Speaker 2 (20:11):
These are puns. These are also jokes.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
These are really great jokes. I had a hen, ones, Dave,
I had a hen. She could count her own eggs.
She was a mathma chicken.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
These these are puns. These are not funny.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
I'll give you a good one, okay. I went for
a job interview and the manager she's like, well, we're
looking for somebody who's very responsible. I said, well, I'm
your man, because in my last job, whenever anything went wrong,
they said, you're responsible. I also left my back my
last job because of back problems. Yeah, they said, if
you come back, there's gonna be problems. Would How do
(20:44):
you organize a space party? How you plan it?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
That's a dad joke, right, there's a joke, James, Dave.
What's the difference between a good joke and a bad joke?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Timing, Tymy, Timmy, I get it.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
I was walking in my neighborhood the other day and
I came across a crowbar. I've never seen so many
drunk birds in my life. Crow bar, A crowbar, a
crow bar.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
So I go down to the dry cleaner and I said,
can you get this stained out? And they said come again.
I said, no, it's coleslaw from a chicken burger.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
Dave Day, Oh my gosh, today, I say, if nobody
else laughs, at least I made myself laugh, I'm glad
they made you laugh.
Speaker 9 (21:25):
Dave.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Go again, Hey Dave, why should you never kiss a
bird because you might get chirpies.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
It's a canaryal disease. See, these are puns. These are
not funny. Oh no, it's good.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
These are really I was going to tell you a
joke about time travel, but you didn't like it.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Oh, I get it, you get it, I get it, Yeah,
you get it.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Last weekend I did get hospitalized for joking.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
They put me in the psych ward. I get it,
get it? Do you get it? Get it? You get it?
I'm I mean it's international joke.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Caves Dirt is coming up next on kd double UB.
I got a list of firework shows that are going
to be in town, you know, the next couple of days. Here,
you give me a second and I will pull this
up for you. Yeah, if you want to go to
a fireworks show. You like fireworks, Bailey.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I love fireworks.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
I think they're probably one of my favorite things because
it's like magic in the sky.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
I love it, Like magic in the sky. I like that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
So there's like the Chan fireworks show, and I'm looking
for a list here and right now. I'll be honest,
I'm not finding it, but I'll find it for you.
The Dave start coming up in a couple of seconds
on KDWB. The big Chan Fourth of July stuff is
going on this weekend. I think every small town has
their Fourth of July something. Interestingly enough, Chan starts today
(22:50):
with like a free movie in the park. I think
it's the Parent Trap or something like that. Then they
got the carnival rides and the beer tent and all
that kind of stuff, and then I'll be hosting Bingo
on the fourth of July morning in the Big Bingo Tent.
It's free and there's different prizes that different community members donate,
like you know, the hardware store will donate, you know, a.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Tool kit or something like that.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
And it's just kind of fun and we have a
good time eleven o'clock until about one until we run
out of prizes.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Then the parades at two thirty.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
Hopefully find fireworks to see somewhere. I know I'll all
have to do is drive a little bit and I
could definitely find a park to sit in and watch
the fireworks. My favorite fireworks that I ever saw, other
than Disney fireworks, because those are great. But I used
to work at Mill City Museum, and I don't think
they do it anymore, but you used to be able
to go up to their ninth floor observation deck and
(23:38):
watch the fireworks from there, and they used to, like
I don't know, launch them from like the Saint Anthony Bridge, So.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Okay, right, yeah they did, sure they did.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Yeah, And the best part was that since you were
so up high, you could see the fireworks along the
horizon for like all of the surrounding town.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
That's right. It was you could see like New Pragus.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Yeah, fireworks display or maybe not get it right, but you.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Get the level.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Get on a high level somewhere and watch the horizon
on on Friday night. That's just it was so cool
and magical.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
I found that list, Dave, Oh you did. Yes.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
So, Red White and Boom happens Friday in downtown Minneapolis.
Then Red Rock and Rockets happens at Mystic Lake. That
kicks off at five pm Friday night. Friday is for
the July the actual day, there's the fourth at Big
Rock Creek and they're doing three to ten pm. They'll
have a full celebration of you know, of course food
and there's slipping slides and bounce houses, face painting, pony rides.
(24:31):
The fireworks kickoff at ten Valley Fair. Of course doing
the Star Spangled Night is what they call it. So
it'll be of course, fireworks nine to forty five. They're
kicking that off, and then Rock the Fourth, which is
a Hairball Independence Day fireworks show at chs Field in
Saint Paul.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Wow, okay, cool, lots of trouble.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
We'll put that up online on Dave Ryan showed at
come so you can check that out if you need
some fireworks to go watch on the fourth of July,
from Hollywood's Biggest Celebrities to the Latest Gossip at Channel four,
it's Dave Dirt on kd WB. Well, let's see what's
going on in the dirt real quick. It looks like
did he jur number twenty five? For whatever reason? The
(25:06):
jury's got the case right now, it's in their hands.
For some reason Jured twenty five. They're not saying why.
They say he is having trouble about following the judge's instructions.
He is a veterinarian in his fifties, he's got a
PhD in molecular biology, and he basically is causing some
sort of problems. Did he could go to prison for
(25:26):
life if he has found guilty. Sub Britta Carpenter is
doing some charity work.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
She's helped raise over one million dollars for mental health
initiatives LGBTQ plus Rights and animal welfare with plus one,
which is really really cool. And I think this is
like maybe a year after sub Britta Carpenter launched her nonprofit.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
So it's cool to see her doing philanthropy work.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
I guess kloy Kardashian is being transparent about all of
the work that she's had done. And Kylie Jenner did
the same thing not that long ago, where she talked
about like the exact I don't know mileage that they
put into boobs to make them the size that they are.
So Chloe is doing the same thing. She just like
published this list for everyone to see of all of
(26:10):
the work that she has had done and what else
she's done to you know, change her appearance. So I
like the transparency obviously, like you got to be rich
to get all of it. But if you want to
look like Chloe Kardashian, she's telling you exactly how you can.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
There's no real good excuse to spend the entire weekend
inside this weekend unless you're bedridden, But if you spend
some time inside this weekend. Netflix had a series called
train Wreck. The latest episode is on the American Apparel
Company and it's creepy CEO. Last week's was Poop Cruise,
and that was the one about the carnival cruise that
(26:46):
lost power after four days and there was no flushing
of the toilets.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
See I didn't realize this was like a weekly thing,
that it's like a series that comes out one at
a time. I really so happened to see poop Cruise.
Took a picture of it and sent it to you,
and I was like, this is the most Davas.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Thing, so good, just loved it.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
There's a what about what Stock, there's what about rob four,
there's and then one next week comes out about the
real Project X.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Oh what's that?
Speaker 5 (27:10):
I guess like the rise of social media. Project X
was I'll tell you right now. Project X was a
movie and it was about three I don't I don't
think it's related to the movie, Okay, but it's about
like social media.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
That one comes out next Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
And I know The Bear Season four is recently on Hulu.
I've already almost finished it over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
I slammed it. I love Jeremy Allen White.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
He's going to be Bruce Springsteen and the Bruce Springsteen biopic.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Saint Paul's Excel Energy Center is now changing its name
to Grand Casino Arena. I am be the first to
call it the G Spot. So when you go see
Beyonce in concerted the G Spot, think of me and
that name will endure through the lifespan of Grand Casino Arena,
going to the G Spot.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
If you could change your name, Dave to anything.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Because AG spot, that was what it would take.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
Spots just because top of mind right now, yeah, yeah,
not right, okay.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Also, it is the second half of the year. Today
is July first, already half of twenty twenty five is
already over, and you're gonna start talking about foods at
the state Fair and making plans to go to the
state fair. Summer in Minnesota goes by in a blink,
and here it is. It seems like we were just
watching snow melt and going spring is coming, you know,
(28:26):
and now here it is halfway through the year, the
first of July.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
But I love it. Are you gonna go outside today, Dave?
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Yeah, well I'm gonna be technically outside. I'm going to
take my friend Kelly the cop and her two kids flying.
Oh so yeah, we're gonna go flying later on today.
She got a couple of little rugrats that go flying.
They're like, when's Day's gonna take his hairplane? So I'm
gonna pick them up and take a flying.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Are they missing teeth? Where's Dave?
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Gonna take you ugliest kids you've ever ugliest damn kids
you've ever seen in your life. I hope they're not listening,
because they're not. They're absolutely adorable.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
Orlando Bloom kind of has a new lease on life
because him and Katy Perry are ov eight Ova And
apparently he was like out and about at the Jeff
Bezols wedding being a little thot.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
I don't know if I could say that word.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
And now he's posted on Instagram that he's taking new steps.
He said, each day is a new beginning. What we
do today is what matters most. That was one post,
and then he made another one that says the important
thing is to take that first step bravely. Overcoming one
small fear gives you the courage take on the next.
So it seems like he's handling the breakup divorced well.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Yeah, with his weird, vague booking posts like I am
better in every way now.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
A couple of celebrity scandals that come up once in
a while. You know, the celebrity scandal will come up.
But here's something that we might have forgotten. You might
remember Angelina Joli kissed her brother passionately on the lips
not once, but twice. Twenty five years ago, when she
won the Golden Globe and then the Oscar, she stood
(29:53):
up and kissed her brother on the lips passionately.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
We were like whatteen.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
Ninety nine and Matthew McConaughey had the police called on
him for a noise complained at three am. When the
cops got there, he was naked, playing the bongo, smoking
a bong, playing the bon alright, all right. Sylvester Stallone's
first movie was in nineteen seventy. It was a soft
core adult film called The Party at Kidding in the studs.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
I would watch that. I love Sylvester Stallone really, I
mean like Rocky era.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Do you remember in two thousand and four, nearly twenty
over twenty years ago, Dave Matthew's band was in Chicago.
They drove over a bridge and the driver of the
bus emptied their septic tank over the Chicago River. Happened
at the same time a boat full of tourists was
going by. Yep, a literal crap storm of over eight
hundred pounds of human waste rained down on.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
These poor folks. A few years ago.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
The incident was remembered with a plaque.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
Why didn't say crapstorm on the plaque?
Speaker 1 (30:54):
I don't think it did say crapstorm. But okay, and
that is the dirt well ended up that note. Have
a great day, enjoy the sun, get outside, do your thing.
Vitamin D is good for you. Get outside and get
some natural vitamin D. We will see you back here
