is here to stir the pot. What's on your mind today?
Wont chat?

Speaker 4 (01:00):
My group chat is lighting me up for this. A
rug is furniture. You can't convince me otherwise because they're
arguing that it's No.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
It's decord. It's two different things. No, it's furniture.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I love your mocking voice.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
That's what they say.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
A rug is decore. No, it's not that Jenny's a
good decore person.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
What do you think I've never thought about it having
to be in a category.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
I thought it was just a rug.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
No, they sell it at Bob Discount furniture, don't they,
So it's furniture.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
They also sell candles as a candle.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
Say they sells a core th or two? I would
more Wait, what is your opinion, fond.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I think rug is furniture. Not I think it is.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Oh man, I don't know. I think I would go
decre how if I had to choose, because it adds
an element to the room.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
You don't. You almost never.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Need a rug.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Bailey's making faces.

Speaker 7 (01:50):
I'm just saying, can it be see none of the above?

Speaker 6 (01:53):
A rug is a rug?

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I kind of agree with that.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
No, I think it's furniture.

Speaker 7 (01:58):
I'm not using a rug to well, sometimes I do
it to like bring in the design of my living room,
But I don't consider it like a decor item because
it's not a knickknack, it's not a picture frame, and
I don't consider it furniture because I don't need it
to like sit on like a couch.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
It's just a rug.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I would argue that a picture frame like a painting,
is also furniture. No, that's it could be decor but
I would argue that it is also furniture because you
want because it's like something heavy that you put on
a wall to help make the living room a place
of like tranquility, just like a couch or a table.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
To say no, no, yes it is now.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Lamp is a piece of furniture coffee table, couch, recliner, ottoman.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
See a lamp you don't need in a living room.
You're so that you're like discrediting the argument that you
don't need a rug you don't need you don't need
a lamp either.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Well, actually you kind of do need.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
I looked it up.

Speaker 7 (02:51):
Here's the definition of furniture vont large moveable equipment such
as tables and chairs used to make a house, office,
or other space suitable for living.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
So then a lamp doesn't go in that category either.

Speaker 7 (03:02):
Number two, it says small accessories are fittings for a
particular use or piece of equipment, so that could potentially
be a rug.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
No, no, rug.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Is a rug, text messages vont is dumb af every day.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
No, it counts as furniture. I never remember.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Vont is twenty four years old and the frontal lobe
of his little mind is still developing. Remember earlier this
morning he heard that Paul McCartney is coming to the
Twin Cities and he's like, why is he from here?
And we laughed merrily, We laughed merrily and heartily. We're like, no,
he's from Liverpool. And he's like, well that sounds that
sounds cool.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
Oh, a designer texted in VN.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
Yeah, well, they said a rug is decre or an
accessory or soft goods.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
A lamp is an accessory.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I would throw candles and like throw pillows in the
same category as furniture.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
They're all this.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
They sell them at Ashley, they sell them at Bob's
Discount Furniture.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
No you can't.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
That's like saying like, oh, because it's fun to it's
fun to play with.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
It's a toy, right, Or it's like you go to
Caribou and there's cake pops there so that means it's coffee.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
No, but I would say it counts as food. I
wouldn't call it coffee, but it does count as food.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
It is food. But a rug is a rug.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
No rug, lamp, throw pillows, paintings all go in the
category of furniture.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
Tex says, was Vont dropped on his head as a baby?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Well, no, he's not dumb. He just thinks dumb things
once in a while. He's actually very intelligent. He just
thinks dumb things. And sometimes I worry that he's just
doing this to light us up.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I think that he's over there going Alyssa, watch this.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
I'm gonna tell Bailey and Jenny and Dave that a
rug is furniture.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Don't you use a rug to furnish your apartment, your house?

Speaker 6 (04:44):
But there's a difference it furnishing and furniture, thank you.

Speaker 7 (04:48):
Yes, furniture is these large movable items, tables, chairs, couches,
you can furnishings can be anything in your home.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Is it furnishing because it's furnishing your home?

Speaker 4 (04:58):
It's such an opinionated thing, becau big things, Couches can
be small, tables can be small.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
No, you keep contradicting yourself.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
No, Jenny, furnish your house.

Speaker 7 (05:08):
And then Jenny goes like, teeth, what what what'd you say?

Speaker 5 (05:12):
I'm just trying to make this lighthearted because everyone's getting
stressed out right now. You can furnish your house. Furnish
your house with teeth like the core, A little the core.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
See see now, Jenny, Anything Jenny has said up until
this point.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Is not valid because she said teeth is the core.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Now it's trying to wrap it up on monsters the
thing on KD WV. All right, we'll be back in
a couple of seconds. On The Dave Ryan Show, don't
forget that keyword. The keyword is grand for one thousand dollars.
It is class reunion time. We're gonna touch to somebody
who's wondering whether they should go to their class reunion,
and I think we can talk her into it. You'll

(05:47):
hear it next on KD double UB. I like that song.
I think we played it for the first time a
couple of days ago, and I really like it. It's
called Blue Strips. I don't know what she's saying in there.
Heard some about strip club, something about.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Mad at you.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
At one point boyint mad boy, ain't mad at you.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I love her voice.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
It's got like a She's from Alabama, I think, and
she's got an Alabama twang.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Little tour Jesse Murph is her name. I think we
determined she's twenty years old. Yeah, wow, super young, super short.
She's like four eleven. Maybe didn't we play at this
time yesterday too?

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Maybe?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Are you Jenny?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Keep work track?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
I'll look not that important.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
I honestly haven't been sleeping things for asking. I've had
because I have like a summer cold right now. I
literally had a raging headache last night when I went
to sleep, and I could not fall asleep. So I
think I got like two hours of sleep plus. Oh no, Yeah,
I am tired today. I'm fine.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Here's some good news. I want to bring you some
good news. We love dogs. We're doing Bernie's Bark in
the Park our first dog meet up of this year.
This is so cool. I'm so excited. We put this
together without going well. Here's because I think the thing is,
when you try to plan something, you come up with
reasons why it won't work. And we said, no, give
me no reasons why it wore. I don't want to
hear that you can't make it. I don't want to
hear that it's too much trouble. I don't want to
hear that. Blah blah blah. So we said, we're doing

(07:05):
Bernie's Park in the park named after my dog Bernie,
and we're gonna do it Thursday next week. And this
is gonna be from five thirty until six thirty at
Bryant Lake Dog Park in Eden Prairie. There's no admission fee.
Just come you park, You bring your dog. I would say,
make sure your dog is well socialized and well behaved.
We don't want anybody this dog who's running around attacking people.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
I don't want to get ready.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
No, yeah, but bring your dog out. It'll be fun.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
I'll bring a little thing that you clip on your leash,
that carries your dog poop, and I'll give a bunch
of those white that's nice. Yes, not allowed to say it. No,
but Vonn's gonna bring a little ava. I'm bringing Big Bernie.
I call him big Burn. Come on, big Burn, because
he's a big boy.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
Do you really call him that?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I call him big Burn, Burnster bern I'm a Bernardo.

Speaker 7 (07:49):
Can't wait to talk to him because I love when
he calls in and I just want to, like, I
want to hear his voice in real life.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Do you know, really, when I think about it, you're
never really around when he calls into the show, like.

Speaker 7 (07:59):
Superman phone right as I'm about to say, like I
have to go pee, and then you're like, oh, okay,
oh the phone's ringing and I'm in the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
You're so silly. Bark in the park with Bernie's Bark
in the park. Bring a dog out there. It's just
very informal. We're gonna hang out for a while. We'll
be like fussing over each other's dogs and letting them
get their sniffs in and socialize and bring little dogs,
big dogs, and you know, you know your dog. If
your dog is well behaved, bring them on out. If
your dog is a handful and your dog is going

(08:27):
to attack Bailey, then break definitely bring your dog out.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
I'm a little bit scared of all dogs.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
We'll see there next Thursday. Any questions send me a
text at Katie WB one.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
You're one stuff for all the celebrity news.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
You need Dave's dirt on Katie w B.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Dolly partners in the Dirt Today brought to you by
six Yet two Injured Heimer and Lammer's Injury Law. She
is pausing the music part of her career.

Speaker 8 (08:50):
Several things I've wanted to just start, but I can't
do it. I will later, but I'm just coming up
with such wonderful, beautiful, you know, ideas, but I think
I won't finish it. I can't do it right now
cause I got so many other things that I can't
afford the luxury of, you know, of getting that emotional
rutting in right.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Totally get it.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I mean, she didn't have anything to prove musically, she
can go do whatever she wants.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
That and because her husband just passed out too long ago.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Oh was that right? Oh did you really?

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah, we talked about it, man, it was in the
last six.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Months, Okay. So I didn't realize that.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Kevin Jonas almost went broke back when him and the
Jonahs brothers broke up back in twenty thirteen, literally down
to he said, the one ten percent left.

Speaker 9 (09:29):
I've seen the beginning of the success to financial success,
not knowing what money really was and understanding it, to
not having to losing almost all of it, seeing bad
bad business seal. Yeah, no, I had a you almost
lost all your mind, Like, yeah, most of it.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
When I was a kid, I always like I wanted
to be a Disney kid, you know. I wanted to
you know, get my own show and be this pop
star or whatever. But it's so scary now, being twenty three,
almost twenty four seeing one.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Howd me like just the things they go through.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Like Demi Levado or Amanda Vines and like, you know,
drugs and alcohol and then something like this. You think
you have a good team that's going to help you
take care of money, and it just seems like they
take advantage of you.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
I think that happens a lot to celebrities because they
hire somebody that they think they can trust and it
turned out that they're not trustworthy or qualified.

Speaker 7 (10:14):
Selena Gomez and Bennie Blanco have started actually discussing their wedding.
So they got or they got engaged in December, and
they said that they've both been working really hard since then,
so they really haven't had any time to like, you know,
sit down and actually talk about it. But what Benny
Blanco said, he insisted that their nuptials will be chill

(10:34):
but amazing. Okay, So they've actually started talking about it,
which probably means if they've just started now that they
probably won't be getting married until probably next year, if
not later. Who knows how it takes a while to
plan a wedding, but I guess if you have sure
a million people working on it, then maybe.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Okay, see this is.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
A random story, but surfer had gone missing yesterday after
going out to surf and got swept away eight miles
into the ocean and they actually found him on a
very tiny, little bitty remote island.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Wow a lot.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Where was this?

Speaker 5 (11:10):
This wasn't near Australia, Okay, but I mean the rescuers
are saying, it's like one in a million that you
get swept away by a wave and you survived, had
a surfboard?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Did you have a surfboard to clean out? So I
think that that was taking water.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Yeah, So I think the way brought him out eight
miles away into the ocean and then they found like
this remote island because they were looking for about twenty
four hours later. And I mean, he's at that hospital
now but they say he's doing Wow.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Wow, that's amazing.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Niceay, I gotta bring this up because you know you've
heard about the floods, and I think it's now a
death toll of near two hundred people down on the
Guadalupe River at Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas. We're
still looking for donations that go to all of the
vetted charitable rescue recovery organizations. If you can donate, open
up your phone, go to Community Foundation dot net. You

(11:57):
can make a donation with your Apple pay or everything
from flood assistant programs for families that lost everything, everything
from relief recovery expert efforts and rebuilding, which I saw
some of the footage. It's like they're out there with
back hoes and shovels and picks, and it's I don't
know how you go through all that and get it
back to some semblance of normal. Yeah, one of the

(12:18):
ways they do it is with money. So if you
can help out Community Foundation dot net, go on your laptop,
use your credit card, or go on your phone and
use Apple pay or whatever you can community Foundation dot net.
We'll wrap it up with some good news. Rogers Rescue
Ride is coming up on September sixth. If you ride
a motorcycle, we'd love to have you join me. For

(12:40):
Rogers' Rescue Ride. I think we're starting in Anoka. We're
going up around Big Lake, up around that way. It's
beautiful up there, and we're gonna ride for a couple
of hours. We'll stop for lunch, ride for another hour
or so, and then then you're on your own. Then
you're on your way. So if you want to come
along Rogers Rescue Ride. No details yet and no registrations
open yet, but just set mark in your calendar, probably

(13:03):
nine o'clock in the morning till early afternoon or September sixth,
that's a Saturday, and we'd love to see you there.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
We will see you back here tomorrow for the Friday
Dave Ryan Show. Check out the Minnesota Goodbye. It's a
lot of fun. It's basically a podcast of stuff that
doesn't quite make it on the show. But it's a
lot of fun and we can say things and do
things that we don't get to do on the regular
radio show. And it's all on the iHeartRadio app. Just
search for Minnesota Goodbye.
